QAW Contender’s Crown in review

<img src="
/>

In addition to the tournament matches, there have been countless undercard multi-women matches. I won’t mention those matches here as they generally don’t influence the tournament.

Monday week 1 July: Army of One

Grissom Auditorium (South West), attendance 2,000 (Sold out)

<img src="
alt="Higa" />

Reprising the Queen of the Ring final, Higa once again gets the better of Jillian Jarvis, but the “new” Ronin 3 take out their revenge afterwards. Claire Winters defeat Christy Higgins in convincing fashion, and almost as if to upstage her, Talia Quinzel demolishes Teresa Perez in the match directly after. Capitano walks into the tournament taped up, fights bravely but submits to Paige Croft.

Wednesday week 1 July: Contender Series I

The Starland Ballroom (Mid West), attendance 2,200 (Sold out)

<img src="
alt="Paige Croft" />

The closest thing to an upset happens in the semi-main event between Higa and Claire Winters where Claire pushes Higa to the limit, but Talia ringside ends up distracting Claire more than her opponent, and Higa manages to turn the match around. Paige Croft reverts to type and works Capitano’s bad knee all match long, eventually getting the submission.

Friday week 1 July: Contender Series II

The Ranch of San Antonio (Mid South), attendance 10,000 (Sold out)

<img src="
alt="Chitose Ariwara" />

Group B finally gets going, coincidentally as Chitose Ariwara is cleared to wrestle. Foxxy LaRue spends almost all her match against Etsuko Arihyoshi in peril to a variety of submission holds, but the World champion comes back to win in the end. Chitose steals a win out of nowhere from Killer Kass, and Yuki Moore does much the same against Pamela Rojo. The reverse frankensteiner happens against the flow of the match, but is hit perfectly.

Interlude 1

<img src="
title="Capitano" />

Sarah took a break from typing, her hand moving to the knee she had hurt a month earlier.

It had been touch and go. Laura Flame had been ready to step in if Sarah had been unable to go and it would have made sense, but somewhat selfishly she had decided to work through it. Paige was a remarkably safe worker, and she had been working the good knee the whole night. A simple bit of sleight of hand. It would have been nice to get a bit of a rest after that match, but Chitose’s injury was worse than hers. Without a good foot to stand on, the reigning champion would be a no go. Just a couple more days.

<img src="
alt="Paige Croft" />

There was a knock on the door, and there she was, the submission princess.

“Hey.” Paige said.

“Hey. Thanks for the good job the other night. The fans really got into it.” Sarah said, and it was true. Higa was incredible, but nobody got the San Antonio fans going quite like Paige.

“Yeah…” Paige acknowledged hesitantly. “Look, I have something I need to talk to you about.” Without waiting for Sarah’s answer, Paige closed the door behind her.

Sarah looked at her with some concern. “Is this about that contract offer from Japan?” The rumour had reached Sarah a few days earlier, but it hadn’t concerned her particularly. QAW shared a handful of wrestlers with 5SSW already. One or two more wouldn’t matter.

Paige sat down next to Sarah. “Yes, it’s about that. They have offered me a contract.”

“So I’ve heard. Seems they recognize talent over there too.”

Paige allowed herself a small smile. “Perhaps. Anyway, I have - in principle - agreed to a contract with them.”

Sarah nodded. “Congratulations. Don’t wear yourself out though. I know how much Higa swears about those flights back and forth across the Pacific.”

“That’s why I’m here. They have offered me a written contract. A monthly paycheck. I would not be allowed to work for QAW anymore.” Paige said, looking very uncomfortable.

“What?!” Sarah could not contain her surprise. “I thought we had an understanding…”

“Things are changing over there. They’re expanding their business. They’re negotiating with a lot of people.” She pauses for a moment. “You have always been fair to me. I’ve had a good run in QAW. So I’m giving you the opportunity to put a competitive counter offer on the table. I’d love to keep working for you Sarah, but I need to think of my economic situation first, I hope you understand. This is an opportunity that might never come back.”

Sarah got silent, an empty look coming over her. As the silence started becoming awkward she said in a flat, dejected tone. “I’ll ask Farrah what we can offer. I’ll put every dollar on the table, but I’ll be honest. I don’t think we can match what 5SSW has offered.”

Paige got back up on her feet. “I’m sorry it happened right now, but that’s out of my hands. Don’t take too long. I’m putting my name on that contract in three days if I don’t see a better offer before that.“

Sarah just mutely nodded.

“Oh, and let me give you a heads up. They have contacted others as well. I’m not the only one mulling over a move to Tokyo.”

“I heard Thea was entertaining an offer,” Sarah said. She had thought that was a harmless PPA contract too.

“...and Laura Flame. And Talia Quinzel,” Paige added as Sarah’s eyes grew wider with each name.

As Paige stepped out of the office, Sarah buried her head in her hands.

“I’m doomed.”

<img src="
title="Yuki Moore" />

Two upsets - Etsuko makes the Shockwave champion tap out, and in 30 minutes, Foxxy can’t pin Yuki Moore who shows incredible resilience facing a bigger and tougher opponent. It’s a round of like meets like as Pamela and Kass tries to outhoss each other, but there’s only one way that can end and Kass picks up the two points. Similarly, Chitose and Charity puts on a veritable air battle. Afterwards, people write angrily on the internet how they have ruined wrestling forever.

Interlude 2

<img src="
title="Capitano" />

There had been no way to match the 5SSW offer. Sarah had put together a contract offer for Paige she thought would be competitive, but Farrah had balked, and that was that.

“So this unfortunately is how it’s going to be. We’re shifting the schedule around to put as many group A rounds in while Paige and Talia are still here. I’ve shifted around some of the results to adjust for this new situation. Any questions?” Sarah looked around the locker room.

Paige piped up. “So, is it pure pettiness or just mostly pettiness having Talia lay down to you personally?” Talia made a motion to Paige not to make a big deal about it, but it was already out there.

Sarah sighed. “The tournament schedule has been out there from the start. Since you decided this was the time to leave, it’s the hand we have to play. I don’t like it anymore than you do.”

Paige was about to say something, but Sarah interrupted her. “As for you and Talia eating losses, well, that’s the only way we can recuperate any of all that we invested in you in the first place.

Paige grumbled, but didn’t say anything further. Her next loss to Higa had been in the cards from the beginning. It was the next couple of losses Sarah figured was going to be a challenge to sell in.

<img src="
alt="Christy Higgins" />

Talia comes out to support Claire in her match against the Ronin 3 boss, but Jillian demonstratively takes Claire apart, and when it is Talia’s turn against Capitano, Jarvis returns the favor, showing up ringside and providing the distraction that allows Capitano to hit her finisher and score the pinfall. Christy gets the better of her best friend Teresa, but all signs of previous tension between the two is gone and afterwards they show a unified front, showing that Bubblegum Brawlers are back. Paige puts in a rather lackluster performance, which only serves to make Higa look all the better in comparison.

Wear and tear seems to take its toll on Chitose Ariwara, and when Pamela Rojo hits her with a couple running power bombs Chitose has no answers. Brooke Tyler’s win over Killer Kass is just as surprising as the Canadian blue chipper chokes consciousness out of the Bad Girls Inc. leader.

<img src="

Paige Croft is a walking thunder cloud as she steps into the ring with Christy Higgins, and while she doesn’t outright sabotage the match, everyone can see that she can do so much better. Talia Quinzel eat a loss to Jillian Jarvis, but is handling the booking instructions much better than Paige. Claire Winters continue to impress, powering through Teresa Perez.

<img src="

Etsuko continues her good streak by forcing Pamela Rojo to tap out, Killer Kass gets back to her winning ways, demolishing Charity Sweet in the process. Chitose’s good run ends against the hard hitting world champion, and it looks like she suffers an arm injury towards the end of the match. Brooke Tyler impresses as she outwrestles the less experienced Yuki Moore.

<img src="
alt="Claire Winters" />

It’s a round of significant match ups. Higa’s perfect streak ends at the hands of her good friend Teresa Perez, the feud between Paige Croft and Jillian Jarvis is revisited, with Jarvis getting her revenge, and Talia passes - quite unwillingly - the torch to Claire Winters who bests her sister in arms using Talia’s own finisher, the Spinal Trauma, and to cause no confusion whether the crowd should cheer her on, she attacks Talia after the match is over, beating her bloody and bombing her through the announce table, declaring herself “the new queen of this shoddy promotion”.

Making good on her promise from the past event, Claire Winters defeat Paige Croft, again using the Spinal Trauma to put down her opponent. Like the night before, Claire does not end just because the match is over, determined to put the submission princess out of commission for good, beating her to a pulp, only stopped by security personnel finally rushing the ring to put an end to the assault.

While Talia Quinzel In theory is able to play spoiler, it’s a broken spirit that square up against Higa in the main event. One would think that would take away from the match quality, but instead, roles are almost reversed with Talia showing babyface tendencies and Higa being her ruthless self almost taking on heelish aspects, and together they put on what many consider the match of the tournament, Talia seemingly intent to give them one last reminder what kind of wrestler she is. It is the last match she wrestles in QAW. It ends in a 30 minute time limit draw.

<img src="
alt="Killer Kass" />

Etsuko Arihyoshi continues to show more heelish tendencies. The announce team explain it away as “typical joshi competitive spirit”, but it’s clear that something has changed about Etsuko as she is ruthless in her win over Charity Sweet. A taped up Chitose gets a win against Yuki Moore who seems to be tiring after a strong start of the tournament. It’s enough to just barely keep Chitose left in the running with two rounds to go. Killer Kass gets a significant win over the World champion leading to the announce team to start speculating about a title challenge from Kass, regardless of outcome in the tournament as a whole. Brooke Tyler quietly racks up wins, getting another in a slug fest against Pamela Rojo, putting Brooke right in the mix as well.

Sunday week 3 July: Contender Series IX

Estadio de Ciudad Juárez (Northern Mexico), attendance 2,200 (Sold out)

<img src="
alt="Brooke Tyler" />

Having made her math, Brooke Tyler sets a trap for Foxxy LaRue and forces the World champ to into a double countout, eliminating Foxxy while keeping Tyler with a shot at winning the group going into the last round. Charity finally gets a win, hitting Pamela Rojo with the Sugar Smack and rolling her up for a flash pin. It’s possible that Charity has weighed a little light in this tournament, but she has consistently put on valiant efforts. Kass demolishes Yuki Moore who has never met anything like Kass before. It’s not pretty.

<img src="
alt="Etsuko Arihyoshi" />

In the main event, Etsuko decisively turns heel as she lays into her friend Chitose, hitting her over and over with a chair when the referee is out, and doing the same to Maria Guest when she comes to the rescue. Etsuko explains that when Boss Man Brayfield had been run out by Maria Guest, practically tarred and feathered after their collaboration, it had all been about Maria. Nobody had asked what she wanted. It was right though, she was not comfortable with a manager like Brayfield, because she is a lone wolf by nature, but going after her goals unfettered by Chitose’s or Maria’s sanctimonious morals was going to be glorious. And then as the referee came to, she pinned Chitose, eliminating her old friend from contention and putting herself in the lead, going into the final match.

<b>Standings before the final round:</b>

  • Higa 9 pts

  • Claire Winters, Jillian Jarvis 8 pts

  • Capitano 6 pts

  • Talia Quinzel 5 pts

  • Christy Higgins, Paige Croft 4 pts

  • Teresa Perez 2 pts

<b>Notes:</b> Higa only require one point to secure the group win as she has the benefit of wins against both her closest competitors Claire Winters and Jillian Jarvis. She faces Christy Higgins in the final round.

<b>Group B</b>

  • Etsuko Arihyoshi 10 pts

  • Brooke Tyler 9 pts

  • Foxxy LaRue, Killer Kass 8 pts

  • Chitose Ariwara 6 pts

  • Yuki Moore 3 pts

  • Charity Sweet 2 pts

  • Pamela Rojo 2 pts

<b>Notes:</b> Etsuko Arihyoshi secures the win with a draw against Killer Kass in the final round. If she loses, Brooke Tyler secures the group with a win against Chitose Ariwara. If SHE loses, Killer Kass secures the group win if she defeats Etsuko Arihyoshi. Foxxy LaRue, despite being on the same number of points as Killer Kass is mathematically out of the race.

Monday week 4 July: Army of One

<img src="

Foxxy LaRue defeats Pamela Rojo to finish the tournament with 4 wins, 1 loss and 2 draws. Pamela finishes last, with 1 win and 6 losses. Yuki Moore defeats Charity Sweet in a high flying affair, leaving the debuting prodigy with 2 wins, 4 losses and 1 tie, while Charity beats out Pamela Rojo by winning their matchup. Chitose Ariwara spoils Brooke Tyler’s aspirations on the Contender’s Crown, leaving it up to Killer Kass and Etsuko to decide who goes to the final. Etsuko applies every trick she knows trying to get Kass into her trademark submission finisher, the Arihyoshi Lockdown, but Kass is too strong and is able to power through anything Etsuko is able to throw at her. In the end, a Killswitch puts a definite end to the discussion. Kass qualifies for the final at Contender’s Ball with a record of 5 wins and 2 losses.

It is announced that neither Talia Quinzel nor Paige Croft are fit to fight after the last event. The official score is left as a draw. That leaves Talia Quinzel at 2 wins, 3 losses and 2 draws, and Paige Croft at 2 wins, 4 losses and 1 draw. Capitano manages to do what Talia and Paige failed to do - defeat Claire, but that does not prevent Claire from taking out her anger on her after the match. Capitano finishes on 4 wins and 3 losses, the same as Claire Winters, but ahead due to the win in the last round. Teresa Perez continue being the giant killer, taking down Jillian Jarvis in the final round. Despite taking down both Jarvis and Higa, Perez finishes last in the group with 2 wins and 5 losses. Jarvis finishes with 5 wins and 2 losses. Leaving Higa in the good position that she can draw against Christy Higgins, tied for last in the group before the final match and still make it to the final. Christy puts up a heroic fight, but Higa makes no mistakes and hits the Higa Green Driver to win the group with 5 wins, 1 loss and 1 draw. Christy ends the tournament with a record of 2 wins and 5 losses.

<img src="

alt="Etsuko Arihyoshi" />

At the big Contender’s Crown finale, Brooke Tyler failed to defend her Shockwave title in a 3-way match against Capitano and Etsuko Arihyoshi, where Arihyoshi pinned Capitano, becoming the 24th Shockwave champion. Afterwards, Chitose Ariwara came out, challenging Etsuko, but Etsuko laughed off the challenge, saying Chitose had no claim on a top contender spot, and that she’d first give Brooke Tyler her rematch as she is due, then let’s see who is next in line.

<img src="
alt="Foxxy LaRue" /> <img src="
title="Yuki Moore" />

Three people had taken points off Foxxy LaRue during the tournament, Kass who had actually beaten her was busy fighting in the final, and the other who had tied with her was Brooke Tyler, busy defending her Shockwave title. Leaving the rookie Yuki Moore who had gone to a heroic time limit draw in the first round with the world champion. Again Yuki put on a valiant effort, but this time Foxxy was determined to put the plucky challenger through the damn canvas, and there was a limit to the punishment she could take before she couldn’t beat the three-count any longer. It was Foxxy LaRue’s fifth successful title defense.

<img src="
alt="Higa" /> <img src="
alt="Killer Kass" />

In the main event Higa and Killer Kass squared off for the Contender’s Crown. The match was fought at a furious pace, and while Higa showed star quality, she took a rough beating to the much bigger opponent. Adding resilience to the long list of her qualities, Higa would not stay down, but just as she started mounting a comeback, Kass reversed the Higa Green Driver into a Killswitch, and it was all over. Killer Kass wins the Contender’s Crown 2019!

<p>Wow, I'm really surprised at who 5SSW decided to sign from you. I was a little surprised too, but 5SSW are more performance based, so it doesn't matter that they're not so well known in Japan. They have been in QAW for a long time now and their attributes are *very* good.

The loss of Paige will really hurt as I think of her as the MVP of this diary. With Talia, it seems like with the injury she was in a bit of a place where losing her doesn't hurt as much, but at the same time, you probably had plans for her.

With Talia the bummer is primarily losing someone very popular with the fans. 80 pop is not easy to replace. She was at the end of a major run anyway, so if I was going to lose her, now was perhaps the time. Paige is irreplaceable. MVP is a good way to put it. Consistently putting in 90+ match performances, she has carried the main event scene for the last year. Time for some other players to step up.

Funny thing is as I was reading, I was thinking it's too bad there's not a big free agent you could bring in to destory Paige and Talia to get that new wrestler over, but then you did that with Claire, and I love that she is using Talia's finisher now.

Yeah, I thought that was a nice little touch. Not the understudy any more, now I am the master. :)

Of course, 5SSW will probably go out of business in a year since they don't increase their number of shows while handing out written contracts, so then you can bring Talia back for a big time revenge feud. :)

It does seem dangerous for AI run companies to grow to Cult level. Maybe they're out of the picture just about the time when we get to Cult then. :)

LaRue vs Kass should be a hot program, and I think you are going Capitano vs Claire next to continue Winters' push.

Plus Etsuko vs Chitose and I think we're good for feuds for the next couple months.

Congrats on the TV deal too. It may be free-to-air, but hopefully the pop spillover into other regions will make it worth it, and moving up to Cult shouldn't be too far away.

Thanks, yeah in my mind it was going to be such a journey for that tv deal and then I realized that with a couple of shows in Mexico during the tournament, I'd probably meet their requirements. Now I've held one tv show after the last update, and I realize I probably have to stop touring now, at least with the tv show, because it will make me lose pop in my home region. Maybe I have to create a secondary show to tour with that isn't on tv...

Interesting times. Pleased for your TV deal. Sad to see Paige go obviously.

You and me both, man. As I said, in my mind a TV deal was not going to happen in a long while, to the point where I considered that a possible end point of the diary, the satisfactory point when I could wrap it up and say "we made it", but now it happened so suddenly and with such a pitiful broadcaster, I feel it's just another step on the way. Now maybe resigning Zoe Amiss and hitting Cult level might be my new end goal. :)

Having recently dabbled in NJPW and with the G1 Climax tournament in full swing, I can't help but smile reading about the Contender's Crown

Japan seems to be the main antagonist in general;in my RTG game I'm made it to No1 company in Europe, #9 in the overall rankings and while the top 3 companies in the world are HGC, SWF and NOTBPW, none of them have bothered with me whereas BHOTWG keeps plucking away talent in the most aggressive of fashions. Popularity and skills aside, it also makes sense 5SSW grabbed your talent as from the match descriptions at least, I'm noticing a change from QAW's luchadoras style to a more technical, submission oriented product.

With her attitude, Shiori's departure was a matter of time, especially once the whole Spectre angle ran its course. Interested to see how the new signings will play out, especially with the quadruple departure

Out of curiosity, how close are you to Cult size and how long do you estimate the jump from Regional to Cult took overall?

In-game, the drift come from Capitano, being heavily into the Japanese style. Of course, that's just my preferences being projected on my user character. Our product hasn't officially changed much, but I have had the benefit of continuity

It was like Shiori was the straw that broke the camel's back. Having Higa on works, but with both of them it was a constant struggle.

Before the TV deal happened, I figured I was 15-18 months away from Cult at current pace, but the TV deal pretty much forces me to change how I tour, so I don't really know how that affects our growth. But a year at the very least I would think.

Interesting about the new signings, I figured Amber Allen was a big signing, but the game auto-pushes her into a lower midcarder, while Yuki Moore is slotted right in as a main eventer. That rubs me a little bit the wrong way, because she so obviously lacks the experience I think is required, but her popularity all over the US is like a super power.

I wasn't just referring to the product, but also the style/skills of wrestlers signed. Not that I know a lot about most of them, but I have noticed a shift from high flyers towards technicians. Was just wondering if it's also the case in game terms or just your writing emphasizing submissions when describing matches.

No, I think that's correct. I simply found I had a whole lot of very skilled submission based wrestlers. Paige is well known, but Etsuko is just as good, and I think Brooke Tyler and Juana Huracán are up there as well. So it just came naturally. Often I haven't felt it was significant if the match ended in a pinfall or a submission so the wrestlers have done whatever comes more naturally to them, and that often meant a submission finish. I have actually gone out of my way to give them additional finishers to mix it up and not have them go for the submission every time.

As far as signings go, it's largely on me ignoring what their strengths and weaknesses might be, convinced that if they are good wrestlers, I can make use of them. Sometimes that is overly stubborn, but I think if Brooke Tyler can be the top name in NOTBPW, she can be a star in QAW even if she isn't a high flyer. It has proven a bit more difficult than I anticipated, but we're getting there. For a while I completely ignored what our product was when signing people. Popularity takes a while to build up, and in the meantime the wrestlers are largely ineffective. I don't think I would have signed Higa today knowing how long time it took for the audience to warm up to her. It's easier to go for the castoffs of USPW and NOTBPW who come with their own fan clubs.

After the Contender’s Crown tournament, reports came out of the company that despite being financially a big success, there was a general sense that the big event had been a failure. Several wrestlers had seen their popularity and momentum take a hit, and the only one really coming out of the tournament looking better than they were coming in was Fuyuko Higa. Attempts to build up Claire Winters as the next major heel was quite resoundly rejected by the fans, and weak booking of Teresa Perez saw her fan support plummet.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Etsuko Arihyoshi successfully defended her Shockwave title twice, first against Maria Guest confronting her old friend, questioning the means by which Etsuko won the Shockwave title, then at Crossroads notching a big win against Chitose Ariwara, taking advantage of a banged up former world champion to score the pinfall.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

At Crossroads, Killer Kass got her World title shot after winning the Contender’s Crown the month before. It seemingly marked the end of Bad Girls Inc as a faction, Kass for the first time not bothering to wear the colors of a faction that now consisted of only her since the departure of Cherry Bomb and Shiori Jippensha. Her title challenge was strong, but with more than 20 successful World title defenses in her career, Foxxy LaRue found the tools to escape the match still reigning champion, but in rather controversial fashion for a babyface.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

During the month, a bit of a feud starts between Ronin 3 on one hand and Higa and Gemmei Oonishi on the other, and at Crossroads, Amber Allen and Brooke Tyler challenges Birds of Prey for the titles, but Birds of Prey are able to retain.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

At the following Army of One, Zoe Amiss made a shocking return to big pop from the audience. </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Killer Kass pointed out how phony LaRue’s win last time out had been and demanded a rematch. Not willing to be the villain in the situation, LaRue accepted the rematch, which they had that very same show. Again, LaRue won in a match with a less than clean finish, but it was hard to put the blame on her, just one of those screwy finishes that happens sometime. </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

<img src="</div><a href="http://i.imgur.com/HVIJsmp.jpg" rel="external nofollow"></a><div style="margin-left:25px;"><a href="http://i.imgur.com/HVIJsmp.jpg" rel="external nofollow">http://i.imgur.com/HVIJsmp.jpg"</a></div><a href="http://i.imgur.com/HVIJsmp.jpg" rel="external nofollow"></a><div style="margin-left:25px;"> alt="Jillian Jarvis" /> <img src="</div><a href="http://i.imgur.com/xYuulxj.jpg" rel="external nofollow"></a><div style="margin-left:25px;"><a href="http://i.imgur.com/xYuulxj.jpg" rel="external nofollow">http://i.imgur.com/xYuulxj.jpg"</a></div><a href="http://i.imgur.com/xYuulxj.jpg" rel="external nofollow"></a><div style="margin-left:25px;"> alt="Higa" /> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

The next week, Jillian Jarvis got into Higa’s face, claiming that she and Ronin 3 weren’t done with the Birds of Prey yet. Higa wasn’t backing down and suggested they try again. Jillian took her up on the offer, making another Ronin 3 vs Birds of Prey tag team title match the main event of the night. When the match was about to start, Jillian Jarvis and Brooke Tyler walks down to the ring, but before the team is presented, Zoe Amiss slides into the ring behind the Birds of Prey, hits Higa with the double underhook backbreaker aptly named the Double Cross before the announcer has had time to name <i>Amiss</i> as Jarvis partner in the match. They get the officials to ring the bell and while Higa kicks out when Jarvis goes to pin her seconds after the match is started, Amiss and Jarvis never let go of the momentum and it’s more like a massacre than a match as the two claim the tag gold and Amiss drink in the heel heat. At the following Army of One shows, Amiss explain that in her time away, she has learned a lot about how the industry works and that she in the past had been unreasonably idealistic. Naive. She is back to make an impact, and tag team titles are not enough. She’s not a new member of Ronin 3, but she and Jillian Jarvis have an understanding as long as they share goals. Instead, she calls out Foxxy LaRue, saying she wants back what was once hers, the world title. The match is booked for <i>War Games</i> at the end of the month.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

During the month, a small mini feud plays out where Capitano questions Kass what the point was to kick her out of Bad Girls Club to reform it into Bad Girls Inc, only to disband it soon afterwards. At <i>War Games</i>, Etsuko Arihyoshi failed to retain the Shockwave title in her third defense, losing it to Teresa Perez who was congratulated afterwards by her tag team partner Christy Higgins. A rag tag team of Charity Sweet, Yuki Moore and Lily Snyder squeezed out a surprise win against the reigning trios champions from the Jaguar Clan. Zoe Ammis nearly claimed the world title, but Foxxy turned interference from Jillian Jarvis to her advantage, tripping up Ammis enough for LaRue to successfully retain the World title for the eighth time.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

The entire month was dedicated to the Queen of the Ring tournament. The first round included a few surprise entries: Jessi Crash out of the SWF dojo made her debut against Yuki Moore, almost sending the teen idol packing in the first round. Velvet Suarez made her debut in QAW but got a rough luck of the draw, facing Zoe Amiss in the first round for an early exit. A trio of familiar faces returned to QAW: Emma May, Raquel Alvarado and most surprising of all, Alina America who faced Capitano in the first round. In a segment that has been called a worked shoot, Alina blamed Capitano for her previous time with the company coming to an end.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Other stories from the first round: Águila Azul Celeste, practically if not officially kicked out of the Jaguar Clan got one back on them by knocking out Raquel Alvarado. After failing in her challenge of her former friend Etsuko for the Shockwave title, Maria Guest got one back as they faced off once more. Ronin 3 threw their weight around, and small feuds seemed to start here as Lily Snyder and Amber Allen got into a brawl before their match had even started, and Brooke Tyler and Higa got in each other’s face. Tyler was the only member of Ronin 3 that didn’t advance, and swore revenge on Higa afterwards and Alina America called it sweet revenge knocking out Capitano.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

<img src="</div><a href="http://i.imgur.com/SrJMR1G.jpg" rel="external nofollow"></a><div style="margin-left:25px;"><a href="http://i.imgur.com/SrJMR1G.jpg" rel="external nofollow">http://i.imgur.com/SrJMR1G.jpg"</a></div><a href="http://i.imgur.com/SrJMR1G.jpg" rel="external nofollow"></a><div style="margin-left:25px;"> alt="Killer Kass" /> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Second round: As usual, Juana Huracán stepped up to the opposition, giving Foxxy LaRue a tough challenge, but the world champion survived, but not without using some tricks that perhaps weren’t the most sportsmanlike. Killer Kass and Lily Snyder had the most physical encounter as Lily tried and - almost - succeeded to match Kass punch for punch, shoulder tackle for shoulder tackle. In the end though, the punishing hits took their toll, and Kass could end it with a Kill Switch. Claire Winters bragged loudly that she’d beat Teresa Perez and then by rights get a title match for Teresa’s Shockwave title, but to Claire’s dismay, an Around the World Armbar later she was forced to tap out. Zoe Amiss made short work of Águila Azul Celeste, and teased unmasking the luchadora, but Velvet Suarez came to the rescue, breaking up the bullying in the ring. Amiss laughed them off as she retreated from the ring, suggesting they team up as the Lucha Losers. Suarez has not been seen since in QAW, but rumour has it that management is considering a contract offer for the young technico. Purple Viper cheated her way past Maria Guest, Higa showed Yuki Moore that she has a lot left to learn, Alina America played mind games with Christy Higgins to easily advance, and in a reprise of last year’s Contender’s Crown final, Chitose Ariwara and Jillian Jarvis tried to kill each other again. Just like that time, Ariwara came out of the match more a survivor than a winner.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

<img src="</div><a href="http://i.imgur.com/xYuulxj.jpg" rel="external nofollow"></a><div style="margin-left:25px;"><a href="http://i.imgur.com/xYuulxj.jpg" rel="external nofollow">http://i.imgur.com/xYuulxj.jpg"</a></div><a href="http://i.imgur.com/xYuulxj.jpg" rel="external nofollow"></a><div style="margin-left:25px;"> alt="Higa" /> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Quarter Finals: On the third attempt, Killer Kass finally got one over Foxxy LaRue who looked worn out. Zoe Amiss had to cheat to get past Shockwave champion Teresa Perez, Chitose Ariwara overcame Purple Viper’s cheating ways, and Higa pinned Alina America. </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

In the semi-finals, Zoe Ammis run came to an end against the overwhelming force of Killer Kass, while in the other semi-final, Chitose Ariwara continued having Higa’s number, improving her record against her Fox Clan ally to 3 wins, 1 draw, 0 losses.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

<img src="</div><a href="http://i.imgur.com/vzm4Q0V.jpg" rel="external nofollow"></a><div style="margin-left:25px;"><a href="http://i.imgur.com/vzm4Q0V.jpg" rel="external nofollow">http://i.imgur.com/vzm4Q0V.jpg"</a></div><a href="http://i.imgur.com/vzm4Q0V.jpg" rel="external nofollow"></a><div style="margin-left:25px;"> alt="Claire Winters" /> <img src="</div><a href="https://i.imgur.com/R3ygpPy.jpg" rel="external nofollow"></a><div style="margin-left:25px;"><a href="https://i.imgur.com/R3ygpPy.jpg" rel="external nofollow">https://i.imgur.com/R3ygpPy.jpg"</a></div><a href="https://i.imgur.com/R3ygpPy.jpg" rel="external nofollow"></a><div style="margin-left:25px;"> title="Capitano" /></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

At <i>Crowning the Queen XI</i> Claire Winters won a battle royal ahead of among others Charity Sweet, Etsuko Arihyoshi, Pamela Rojo and Purple Viper for a Shockwave title shot. World Champion Foxxy LaRue tied up a loose end by giving Yuki Moore a title match after their time limit draw in the Contender’s Crown tournament. A brawl backstage the previous week leads to a threeway match this week between Capitano, Juana Huracán and Killer Kass, with a title shot thrown into the pot for good measure. Capitano pins Huracán and earns a spot in the next Shockwave title match, along with champion Teresa Perez and Claire Winters.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

<img src="</div><a href="http://i.imgur.com/Heo5HkZ.jpg" rel="external nofollow"></a><div style="margin-left:25px;"><a href="http://i.imgur.com/Heo5HkZ.jpg" rel="external nofollow">http://i.imgur.com/Heo5HkZ.jpg"</a></div><a href="http://i.imgur.com/Heo5HkZ.jpg" rel="external nofollow"></a><div style="margin-left:25px;"> alt="Chitose Ariwara" /> <img src="</div><a href="http://i.imgur.com/W9znUzz.jpg" rel="external nofollow"></a><div style="margin-left:25px;"><a href="http://i.imgur.com/W9znUzz.jpg" rel="external nofollow">http://i.imgur.com/W9znUzz.jpg"</a></div><a href="http://i.imgur.com/W9znUzz.jpg" rel="external nofollow"></a><div style="margin-left:25px;"> alt="Zoe Ammis" /> <img src="</div><a href="http://i.imgur.com/vrW0gLX.jpg" rel="external nofollow"></a><div style="margin-left:25px;"><a href="http://i.imgur.com/vrW0gLX.jpg" rel="external nofollow">http://i.imgur.com/vrW0gLX.jpg"</a></div><a href="http://i.imgur.com/vrW0gLX.jpg" rel="external nofollow"></a><div style="margin-left:25px;"> alt="Foxxy LaRue" /> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

The final was a hard fought affair, Kass dominating, Chitose rag dolling and refusing to give up - the kind of underdog, never say die attitude that had gotten her so over with the QAW audience in the first place, and in the end she hits Kass with her Victory Roll, picking up the win and the Queen of the Ring trophy. As she celebrates her win, Zoe Ammis attacks her from behind and start beating up the champion. Out from the back comes Foxxy LaRue for the rescue. </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Or so everyone thinks, as when she is faced with the choice, rather than attack Ammis and break up the fight, she joins in to beat down, smashing up Chitose’s face against the Queen of the Ring trophy before the two, atop Chitose’s beaten down body soaks up the crowd’s disdain, and the new top heel duo has presented themselves.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

When Zoe Ammis and Alina America left QAW for different reasons, few thought they would ever be back, but here they are. Zoe is/was the chosen one, meant to be the figurehead for QAW but buckled under the pressure, got so unhappy that she packed up her bags and left for Seattle. Alina America left under somewhat scandalous circumstances with drugs involved. Now, she’s back to get her revenge on Capitano, the one she sees responsible for getting her fired. Finally, Jessi Crash is a 22 year old graduate of the SWF dojo - a bit of an outlier as SWF does not have a women’s division. She’s a big brawler with good fundamentals and reportedly a good attitude in the locker room. She’s working a heel trailer trash gimmick which hasn’t gone over terribly well with the fans, and so far she’s been used as enhancement talent.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Before Potter can respond, Rojo has knocked her out cold. She’s tied up, tossed into the back of a van which drives off. It is the last we see of Hannah Potter. Her fate is never spoken of explicitly, but it is always suggested the Jaguar Clan did something terrible to the QAW general manager. When a guy front row calls her out, saying it’s not the color of her skin, it’s her being a “backstabbing ass” they don’t like, she attacks him with her fists, using the crowd barrier to finish him off with an elevated DDT on the arena floor. I started using the abbreviated event reports in order to advance time in the game. At some point, I made up the goal in my head that the “end game” of the save would be getting QAW to Cult size. , and that would be the end of the save. Assuming I lost pace at the current rate, getting there would take several years, and TEW2019 (or whatever the next version might be) would be out a long time before I’d be done. So I started fast forwarding, playing fast and loose with how storylines, promos and matches actually were connected. That got me to where I am today, having moved the save basically a year forward in this manner. </div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Problem is, it never felt satisfying, I think neither for you readers nor for me as writer and player of the game. Also, I’ve been trying to find the next save I might want to sink my teeth in and that has been harder than I thought. In the meantime, my interest in this save which admittedly dipped a bit for a while has kinda grown again, so from here on, I’ll go back to more detailed event reports, at least for PPVs. I need to sort out what the weekly events will look like, but I will at the very least present full results and probably write out a key angle or two from each event so that continuity doesn’t get lost.</div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> So that said, for the first time in a while, let me throw up a card for the next PPV:</div></div></div></blockquote><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><div style="text-align:center;"><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><img src="</div></div><a href="http://i.imgur.com/tsSWR7c.jpg" rel="external nofollow"></a><div style="margin-left:25px;"><a href="http://i.imgur.com/tsSWR7c.jpg" rel="external nofollow"></a><div style="margin-left:25px;"><a href="http://i.imgur.com/tsSWR7c.jpg" rel="external nofollow">http://i.imgur.com/tsSWR7c.jpg"</a></div><a href="http://i.imgur.com/tsSWR7c.jpg" rel="external nofollow"></a></div><a href="http://i.imgur.com/tsSWR7c.jpg" rel="external nofollow"></a><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> /></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-size:18px;"><strong>Scars and Stripes, Week 4 November 2019</strong></span></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-size:18px;"> </span></div></div></div><p></p><p></p><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><b>Opener: Yuki Moore vs Alina America</b></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> While Yuki and Capitano aren’t precisely allies, Yuki seems happy to be the distraction that let’s Capitano fight one rival at a time, and Yukis laid back, youthful pluckiness seem to have pissed off Alina America royally.</div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> <b>Match 2: Lora Washington, Águila Azul Celeste, Maria Guest & Bessie Psycho vs Killer Kass, Purple Viper, Etsuko Arihyoshi & Lucy Trigg, 8 Woman Elimination Tag Match</b></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> I won’t lie; the match itself means nothing, but it is an opportunity for singles competitors to showcase themselves and position themselves for upcoming campaigns.</div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> <b>Match 3: Charity Sweet & Ariel Breaks vs Guerreros Azteca Tables match</b></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> The tag team division is quite up in the air as of late, with Charity and Ariel to be fair probably chasing rather than being among the first mentioned, but a win against Pamela Rojo and Juana Huracán would definitely launch them into the conversation.</div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> <b>Match 4: Lily Snyder vs Claire Winters © Shockwave Title match</b></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> With the reign of Teresa Perez the Shockwave belt has been elevated to a level it has never been at before, and that does not seem to change as Claire Winters take on her second challenger. Yeah, we're not quite sure if she's buried in the desert somewhere, or if she's perhaps running around as a valet in SWF. I guess we'll never know.

Now that's a way to write someone off a show! :)

That angle to end the show sounds like hot fire. I wasn't sure about Foxxy's heel turn at first, but it feels like full steam ahead now.

I can see why you want to go to a more detailed shows, but I still enjoyed reading a summary this way. I guess you can always go back if you find that the new format doesn't work for you.

On to the picks!

Yuki Moore vs Alina America

I don't know if I have a good read on what Yuki's push is yet, but if Yuki got the win in their last match, maybe Alina gets it back here.

Lora Washington, Águila Azul Celeste, Maria Guest & Bessie Psycho vs Killer Kass, Purple Viper, Etsuko Arihyoshi & Lucy Trigg

I would think you would want to get Lora a win here, but everyone else on her team doesn't stand out as 'They have to win!' I would pick anyone else on the other team to win a singles match, but I guess if Trigg takes the loss it won't affect them too much.

Charity Sweet & Ariel Breaks vs Guerreros Azteca Tables match

Interesting to see Charity and Ariel in this situation. I thought they would be further along than the tag scene, but maybe this is a good way to get them involved since the main event and upper midcard are so crowded.

Lily Snyder vs Claire Winters © Shockwave Title match

Claire won a title! Even if her push as a top heel isn't going over so well, I think you keep pushing her as she's most likely getting to a spot where she will grow into the role.

Birds of Prey vs Ronin 3 (Allen & Tyler)

Very interesting. Higa is probably better off in the main event picture, and Ronin 3 probably make a better opponent for the Bubblegum Brawlers.

Bubblegum Brawlers © vs Ammis & Jarvis Tag Team Championship Towel match

I just can't pick against Perez. I won't do it. :p My guess is Zoe throws in the towel, leading to a feud between her and Jarvis.

Capitano vs Chitose Ariwara vs Foxxy LaRue © 3-way World Championship match

Before that angle that ended the last show, I would have said Chitose, but now? I can't pick against Foxxy after that. That's the kind of angle that will zoom QAW right to the top.

<p>Opener: Yuki Moore vs <strong>Alina America</strong></p><p>

I presume this will keep A.A. strong for Capitano later on?</p><p> </p><p>

Match 2: Lora Washington, Águila Azul Celeste, Maria Guest & Bessie Psycho vs <strong>Killer Kass, Purple Viper, Etsuko Arihyoshi & Lucy Trigg</strong>, 8 Woman Elimination Tag Match</p><p>

I feel like I have no idea who some of these people are? <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/confused.png.d4a8e6b6eab0c67698b911fb041c0ed1.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> I think Kass may still be the difference maker.</p><p> </p><p>

Match 3: Charity Sweet & Ariel Breaks vs <strong>Guerreros Azteca</strong> Tables match</p><p>

I think I'm wrong here but I just feel that the match stip suits the Azteca a little better.</p><p> </p><p>

Match 4: Lily Snyder vs <strong>Claire Winters ©</strong> Shockwave Title match</p><p>

Winter has come and is not going to leave just yet!</p><p> </p><p>

Match 5: Birds of Prey vs <strong>Ronin 3 (Allen & Tyler)</strong></p><p>

I think that Wolf's take is a hard one to disagree with.</p><p> </p><p>

Match 6: Bubblegum Brawlers © vs <strong>Ammis & Jarvis</strong> Tag Team Championship Towel match</p><p>

Cautious vote here but I just can't see anything possessing the heels to throw in the towel.</p><p> </p><p>

Main Event: Capitano vs Chitose Ariwara vs <strong>Foxxy LaRue ©</strong> 3-way World Championship match</p><p>

I'm still not a Foxxy convert for some reason but I'm not sure enough to bet against her.</p>

<p>Opener: Yuki Moore vs <strong>Alina America</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>Feel like Double A needs this win in order to look credible for the feud. The possibility of feud-related shenanigans crossed my mind, but I think a simple storytelling beat of showing the heel can win is probably more useful.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Match 2: Lora Washington, Águila Azul Celeste, Maria Guest & Bessie Psycho vs <strong>Killer Kass, Purple Viper, Etsuko Arihyoshi & Lucy Trigg</strong>, 8 Woman Elimination Tag Match</p><p> </p><p>

<em>I'm predicting a spot where Kass is alone against 3 of her opponents, but manages to win the match. Get/reinforce Kass having that feeling of just awesome (Kong?) power.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Match 3: Charity Sweet & Ariel Breaks vs <strong>Guerreros Azteca</strong> Tables match</p><p> </p><p>

<em>I'm going with the old standby "the named team wins" here </em><img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

Match 4: Lily Snyder vs <strong>Claire Winters ©</strong> Shockwave Title match</p><p> </p><p>

<em>Snyder's the kind of person who's on a roster to elevate other talents. Super useful to have a gatekeeper. Or, in this case, a credible-enough opponent for Winters to defeat so that Winters can look like a solid champion through a clean victory.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Match 5: <strong>Birds of Prey</strong> vs Ronin 3 (Allen & Tyler)</p><p> </p><p>

<em>Jarvis isn't in this match. I think she's the premier member of the trio, and if she was in the match, I'd go Ronin 3. But no Jarvis, I think Ronin 3 can take the loss.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Match 6: Bubblegum Brawlers © vs <strong>Ammis & Jarvis</strong> Tag Team Championship Towel match</p><p> </p><p>

<em>I can see several bookings making it hard for me to choose here. I'm picking the heels because heels can do things like giving up without nearly as much damage to them as faces. On the other hand, the beautiful booking for the Hart/Backlund towel match saw a conniving heel Owen Hart convince his distraught mother to throw in the towel on Bret. So a heel turn to break up the Brawlers could happen. Or, third possibility, one half of the Brawlers cannot stand to see her teammate being punished so badly, and the towel toss is a babyface move that still can be used as a point of resentment in a future Brawlers breakup. It's a well-booked match when I can think of several ways you could go; since I can only choose one, I'll pick the Brawlers to retain.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Main Event: Capitano vs Chitose Ariwara vs <strong>Foxxy LaRue ©</strong> 3-way World Championship match</p><p> </p><p>

<em>Foxxy's been champion on several occasions, so it's not like she needs the belt. And losing the belt could drive Foxxy even further into heeldom. But I think a Foxxy victory here helps to build her as a strong heel champion and get over whatever face winds up getting it off her.</em></p>

<b>Pre-show: Maribel Mercado vs Jessi Crash</b></p><p>

Jessi Crash has gotten a good education at the SWF dojo, but she’s still raw, and does not possess the raw physical power that her size would indicate, so some lifts that would suit her very well are simply impossible for her to do at the moment. Overall, it is Maribel that runs the show, and wins with her trademark High Altitude Legdrop.</p><p>

The show opens with Yuki Moore in the ring, welcoming the crowd to the Ranch of San Antonio, hoping they’ll have a great night. She doesn’t get far in her spiel before she’s interrupted by Alina America. Perhaps it’s because Alina America used to be the young and beautiful fix star, and now seeing Yuki Moore as something of a younger mirror image and a sense that a new generation is here to replace her, or it might simply be that the 22 year old beach bunny Yuki has a natural ability to effortlessly get a rise out of people, but the more Alina tries and fails to shoot her down, the angrier she gets. Like when Alina suggests that Yuki, pop starlet turned wrestler is not legit, just here riding on her fame, but Yuki points out that she started wrestling when she was 12, and with ten years of wrestling under her belt has a longer wrestling career behind her than Alina does. </p><p> </p><p>

Eventually, Alina has had enough, throws the microphone to the side and sneers to the referee to get the match started. </p><p>

<b>Opening Match: Yuki Moore vs Alina America</b></p><p>

Early on it looks like Alina has worked herself into a bad state of mind to wrestle the quick and elusive Yuki who is giving her a really hard time, tossing her around with hurricanranas and armdrags, but as the match goes on, her experience start working in Alina’s favor - even though Yuki technically have a year on Alina, she’s been barely a part timer for most of her career, while Alina is a tested veteran that knows every trick in the book and Yuki is woefully naive in the ring. When Alina hits her

<b>Match 2: Lora Washington, Águila Azul Celeste, Maria Guest & Bessie Psycho vs Killer Kass, Purple Viper, Etsuko Arihyoshi & Lucy Trigg, 8 Woman Elimination Tag Match</b></p><p>

The match starts at a high pace with a few early eliminations as Killer Kass flattens Bessie Psycho and Águila Azul Celeste, allowing Purple Viper to pick up two pins in quick succession. Lora Washington then rolls up Purple Viper who think she’s safe when she kicks out, but ends up in an armbar instead, and taps out. Maria Guest and Etsuko Arihyoshi face off in what appears like a stalemate, until Lucy Trigg interferes, allowing Arihyoshi to get the pin, leaving Lora Washington on her own against a trio of Killer Kass, Etsuko Arihyoshi and Lucy Trigg. In what turns into something of a gauntlet match, Lora manages to dispose of Trigg, gains the momentum on Etsuko, manages to knock Kass off the ring apron and has just enough time to hit Etsuko with the July 4th Jam (a seated facebuster) and gets the pin. As she gets up however, Kass is on her and hits an unprepared Lora with a devastating lariat. Kass drags her to her feet by her hair, goes for a Kill Switch, but Lora fights back, delivers a super kick, runs the ropes and tries to spear Kass, but the big woman pretty much no-sells the attack, instead trapping Lora under her arm, lifts her up and hits the Kill Switch for the 1-2-3.</p><p>

Lora is slow to get up after the match, and Kass seems to be of two minds, whether to beat up the newcomer to QAW or not, but seems to decide against it as her manager Dharma Gregg on high heels gingerly steps into the ring with a microphone.</p><p> </p><p>

Dharma gives Lora a smug grin. “You look surprised Lora. I know you were a hotshot out northwest before you got here, but you think that makes you special? That it was going to be easy to waltz in here like you owned the place? Newsflash. You’re on the big stage now. Here everybody start at zero. Even Kass did at one point.” </p><p> </p><p>

She pauses, gives Lora a thoughtful look, then whispers something to Killer Kass, who simply nods.</p><p> </p><p>

“To your credit, you showed some fire today. Kass was impressed, and so was I. Let us extend an invitation. Bad Girls Inc could use someone like you, and for you, it would be a fast ticket to the main event, because that’s where Bad Girls Inc play. Join us, Lora.”</p><p> </p><p>

There’s a pregnant pause as they look each other in the eye, Dharma with her hand out stretched, waiting for Lora to take it, but all she gets from Lora is an enigmatic smile before Lora shakes her head and rolls out of the ring and walks off stage.</p><p>

There’s a lot of taunts back and forth, with Zoe Ammis getting the final word before walking away: “I’m going to make Christy cry, and you are going to throw in the towel, because you care about your friend more than you care about yourself. We on the other hand, are ideal for this stipulation. Because neither of us give one damn if the other is in pain. I think Jillian kind of likes it when I suffer. There will be no submission from our corner, so if you want to spare yourselves a lot of suffering, you get in the ring and as soon as the bell rings, you throw in that towel.”</p><p>

<b>Match 3: Charity Sweet & Ariel Breaks vs Guerreros Azteca (Huracán & Rojo) Tables match</b></p><p>

Huracán and Rojo seems supremely comfortable bringing out the tables, putting a couple up outside the ring before the match has even started, while Charity and Ariel have to give each other a morale raising pep talk to start the match. </p><p> </p><p>

While Charity puts in a top performance, Ariel keep getting into trouble as Huracán and Rojo loves to cut the ring in half, isolating the babyfaces, and Ariel in trouble turns into Charity in trouble as the team mate charges in, sacrificing herself to save her partner. Even so, overconfidence allows Charity a brief come back where she carries Juana Huracán on her shoulders, tantalizingly close to bombing her through a table. The moment is cut short as Pamela Rojo cuts her down from behind with a kick to the back of the legs. Instead, the match ends the way most expected it to, with two power bombs from the ring apron dropping Charity and Ariel through two tables.</p><p>

And how Claire Winters invaded the ring from her guest commentary position to attack Snyder until eventually Gemmei Oonishi (also in the 4-way match) breaks up the attack.</p><p>

<b>Match 4: Lily Snyder vs Claire Winters © Shockwave Title match</b></p><p>

Against opponents her own size, Claire Winters has been able to rely on her power to dominate opponents, but against Snyder, she’s more than found her match. Instead she gets to show off how versatile her skill set has become and the many different ways she can hurt an opponent. She gets Snyder into a chinlock that there just seems to be no way out of, but as Snyder seem reluctant to give up, Claire slams her face first into the mat, runs the ropes, and just as Snyder starts getting up, she’s hit by Claire’s devastating Flying Kneestrike, and it’s all over.</p><p>

<b>Match 5: Birds of Prey (Higa & Oonishi) vs Ronin 3 (Allen & Tyler)</b></p><p>

The match is straight forward enough. Allen and Tyler work methodically, cutting the ring in half, isolating their opponents and working the legs of Oonishi and Higa to limit their aerial ability. </p><p>

It’s a good plan, but it’s not quite enough to hold the Birds of Prey down. With an exploder suplex Higa practically throws Brooke Tyler out of the ring, leaving Amber Allen stumbling around alone in the ring, leaving her open to the Birds of Prey combo finisher, the Death from Above.</p><p>

<b>Match 6: Bubblegum Brawlers © vs Ammis & Jarvis Tag Team Championship Towel match</b></p><p>

The match starts with Teresa Perez and Zoe Ammis in the ring, and demonstratively, Jillian Jarvis gets out a zippo lighter and starts putting their white towel on fire. Zoe Ammis is visibly upset at this, and makes sure to put out the and takes away the lighter from Jarvis who does not seem overly pleased with Ammis lack of self-confidence. </p><p> </p><p>

As the match goes on, the difference between the teams become more and more clear. When Teresa locks in the Around the World Armlock on Jillian Jarvis, referee Erin Lawrence is pleading with Zoe Ammis to throw in the towel for her partner, but Zoe looks more preoccupied with her nails than the plight of her team mate. When the roles are reversed and it’s Jarvis that has Christy Higgins in a leg lock, the agony is as clear on Teresa Perez’ face as it is on Christy’s, who in turn is pleading with her team mate not to throw in the towel for her sake.</p><p> </p><p>

That’s the position they’re in when the final moments of the match play out. There has been an increasing amount of verbal abuse being hurled back and forth between Zoe Ammis and Teresa Perez at the respective turnbuckles. Perez look ready to run in to break up the hold Higgins is in. Ammis decides to leave her post, rounds the ring to continue the argument more face to face and prevent Perez from interfering in what’s happening in the ring. As she grabs hold of Teresa’s leg, about to pull her from the ring apron, Perez is the one to get a real hold, locking in the Around the World Armlock on Ammis. As they’re right below the ring apron, what’s going on is out of sight for the referee, so Ammis tapping, scratching and clawing has no effect, and suddenly the three in the ring see a white towel come singling into the ring, landing next to Jarvis, in the process of breaking off the foot of Christy Higgins. Erin Lawrence picks it up, identifies the burnt towel as belonging to Jarvis and Ammis, and ends the match. </p><p>

Jarvis is understandably pissed, and after tossing Christy Higgins aside gets into Erin Lawrence’s face, and when not getting the answers she want, gives her a European uppercut, before going after Zoe Ammis who to her credit does not back down from the seething Jarvis, and their argument continues all the way off stage.</p><p>

Alfonso Garcia: It is time for the big main event, Foxxy LaRue going for the big 10. Who would have thought she’d string together such a string of successful title defenses back when she surprised everyone by taking the title off Talia Quinzel back in March? </p><p> </p><p>

<b>Garcia Harper:</b> Look, I will not deny I was not onboard the LaRue hype train. I did not feel she had the mental fortitude of a champion anymore, that she was a product of a different era. But when I’m wrong, I admit I’m wrong. Foxxy has proven that she is without doubt the greatest champion QAW have ever seen. </p><p> </p><p>

<b>Alfonso Garcia:</b> I seem to recall a different tune just a few weeks ago, before she joined forces with Zoe Ammis and attacked Chitose Ariwara after the Queen of the Ring final.</p><p> </p><p>

<b>Grace:</b> Like I said, it took time to come around, but she has shown she knows what it takes to stay at the top.</p><p> </p><p>

<b>Alfonso:</b> I think Farrah would have had a thing or two to say about that, but she is busy presenting the participants. Let’s go to the ring.</p><p> </p><p>

She’s wearing a hoodie, covering her face as though she can’t quite bear the accusing glares from the fans around her. A few beats into the intro, she hoists the World title in the air as if to say, “This. This is what matters. Not what you think about me,” and the hoodie falls back, forcing her to face the accusers booing her all the way to the ring.</p><p> </p><p>

Once in the ring, rather than let Farrah Hesketh present the participants, Foxxy grabs the microphone out of her hand.</p><p> </p><p>

“I’ll get back to you later,” she says to Farrah with mild disdain, and turns to Capitano.</p><p> </p><p>

“I’ve been asked why I offered, no, demanded to include you in this title match. Was it because my temper ran over? Well, that may have played a part. More importantly, I want you to eat your own words. You’ve told me, actions speak louder than words. So why have you spent the last weeks preaching? Shut my mouth here in the ring, or get out of my face. ‘Oh, but what about the titles I’ve won,’ you say? Here is the plain truth: Anytime you have had success, it has been on the merits of someone else. Until you show that you’re any more than a glorified manager in tights, I don’t see why I should take anything you say seriously.”</p><p> </p><p>

Capitano does not look amused, while Chitose in neutral corner emotes that kind of embarrassment at a public quarrel between people she’s - unfortunately - associated with. Capitano looks ready for a fight, but referee Dale Kenney gently holds her back. Foxxy wags her finger. </p><p> </p><p>

“Don’t interrupt me. I have the talking stick,” she says, nodding toward the microphone in her hand, “you shut up until I’m done. So you’re so pig headed, you’re here to be taught a lesson not to meddle in other people’s business. But I’m not heartless. Because of this unpleasant personality of yours, I figure you don’t have much friends, family nor fans here to support you,” she says, casting an annoyed look at the booing fans. “You shut up too. Shut up!” She turns back to Capitano. </p><p> </p><p>

“So I’ve done what a good sister do and made sure there is someone here, just for you,” she says, pointing to a space between the north and east stands. Spotlights hit the space, revealing an ambulance, and two EMT’s that wave to the people in the ring. </p><p> </p><p>

“They might not be the friends you want, but they’ll be the friends you need when this match is over.”</p><p> </p><p>

By now, Capitano has let Dale Kenney separate her from Foxxy, but now she gently shoves him aside and gets up in Foxxy’s face. Capitano is considerably shorter than Foxxy, so it almost looks comical when she tries to stare down the world champion. Instead of throwing punches however, she snatches the microphone out of Foxxy’s hand. </p><p> </p><p>

“Ok, you’ve had your fun at my expense, ha, ha. I’ll keep this short, because as you say, action speak louder than words. I just want to address one thing. I did not ask for this opportunity. I feel Chitose has been made a disservice by making the reward for her Queen of the Ring victory a three-way match that the champion seem to treat more as a tool for her vindictiveness than the big occasion it is. So I say this, Chitose. If I win, I promise you’ll get another shot. And if Foxxy retains, I implore our general manager to give you a shot one on one.” At this, Chitose steps up to Capitano and shakes her head while Foxxy huffs.</p><p> </p><p>

“That said, I won’t hold back because someone might think I don’t deserve this opportunity. I’m not leaving any regrets behind tonight. Foxxy, if I leave in that ambulance, so be it. Now, can we get this party started?” she says, handing over the microphone to Hesketh.</p><p>

<b>Main Event: Capitano vs Chitose Ariwara vs Foxxy LaRue © 3-way World Championship match</b></p><p>

Initially the match seems wide open, as soon as someone gains a small advantage on an opponent, the third part is there to break it up. </p><p> </p><p>

It starts to shift when the action spills outside the ring. Chitose has been recovering outside the ring for a while when Capitano knocks Foxxy over the ropes on the other sideof the ring, then suicide dives the other way, knocking Chitose into the crowd barriers. Both of them looks more or less out of it, Chitose more so than Capitano. This gives Foxxy the clear upper hand, but instead of dragging an opponent into the ring to get the pin, she grabs Capitano by the hair and starts dragging her up the stairs into the stands, slamming Capitano into the railings. Capitano does her best to fight back, at one point getting Foxxy up on her shoulders, and Foxxy looks down realizing that the ambulance is parked right below them, and she’s dangerously close to being dropped from a very uncomfortable height on to it. This gives her the fire to fight back, and soon they’re back on more equal footing, dishing it out to each other, back and forth. </p><p> </p><p>

Meanwhile, Chitose has slowly recovered, is looking to join the fray. She does this by charging in with a big dropkick just the moment Capitano was stepping up on the railing to throw herself at Foxxy. Instead, Chitose hits Foxxy, Foxxy falls into Capitano, Capitano falls backward like in slow motion. There is like a moment frozen in time when Chitose and Capitano locks eyes, Chitose looking as shocked as Capitano - and the next moment, twenty feet below, a body hits the windshield of an ambulance. </p><p> </p><p>

What just happened seem to have taken the wind out of Chitose, she leans over the railing to look what happened with Capitano, but she has not much choice as Foxxy is on her in no time, slamming her head first into the railing then throwing her down the stairs. Foxxy drags her into the ring, and we get a long sequence of Foxxy dishing out damage, Chitose kicking out, Foxxy going for a bigger attack, Chitose getting out of the way to mount a brief come back before Foxxy takes over again. Chitose is tantalizingly close to hit the Victory Roll, but Foxxy has it scouted, hits Chitose with a brainbuster, drags her to her feet and when Foxxy hits with the trademark Flash Head Kick, it looks all over. </p><p> </p><p>

Except, she hasn’t noticed how a bleeding and broken Capitano has gotten to, crawled and stumbled her way back to the ring. Painstakingly climbed the turnbuckle behind Foxxy, and now seems prepared for one last ditch effort. She calls out defiantly to Foxxy.</p><p> </p><p>

“Hey asshole, forgot about me?” </p><p> </p><p>

Just about to cover Chitose for the pin, Foxxy turns toward the voice, and is hit by the missile dropkick to end all dropkicks. Chitose takes the brunt of Capitano’s landing, Foxxy ragdolls out of the ring. With the last ounce of energy she has, Capitano makes a proper pin on Chitose, and referee Dale Kenney counts, 1… 2… 3. Foxxy throws herself at the pile trying to break up the pin, but she’s a moment too late.</p><p>

<b>Alfonso Garcia:</b> The reign of Foxxy LaRue lasted 240 days. Capitano is the new world champion.</p><p> </p><p>

<b>Grace Harper:</b> I can’t believe it. Wake me up from this nightmare.</p><p> </p><p>

<b>Farrah Hesketh:</b> Karma came back to bite Foxxy sooner than I would have thought, but I can’t say I’m unhappy. </p><p> </p><p>

<img src="<a href="https://imgur.com/1b9zwJC.jpg" rel="external nofollow">https://imgur.com/1b9zwJC.jpg"</a> title="Capitano" /><img src="<a href="http://i.imgur.com/3tsRqZb.jpg" rel="external nofollow">http://i.imgur.com/3tsRqZb.jpg"</a> alt="World Champion" /></p><p>

Capitano is slow getting to her feet. Having had her hand raised and been given the title belt, she looks happy, but more or less out of it. She gingerly rolls out of the ring to celebrate with the fans, take a couple of unsteady steps, then collapses. Gets back up, staggers sideways and falls over again, before the two EMTs are there to tend to her. A stretcher is produced, and Capitano is carried out, giving a wave and a thumbs up to concerned fans on her way out.</p><p>

She’s not good enough in the ring yet to feel like a serious top contender, but she’ll get there (I think). </p><p> </p><p> So yeah, the match was an opportunity to present what kind of wrestler Alina America is. The QAW roster has become more solidified in its shape, so a win or two is not enough to move the needle. It takes a lot to move up or down the card these days. I’ll post a roster overview, probably before the next event report, where you’ll see that most things are still the same. </p><p> </p><p> I think I tend to over rely on the trope (if it is a trope) that whenever a team gets a stipulation that really fits them to a tee, it will inevitably be their downfall. But for that to work you have to show that logic still exists, or you’ll never surprise anyone. There is no way Pamela Rojo is not going to power bomb someone through a table if there’s an opportunity.</p><p> </p><p> And as far as Charity and Ariel not having a team name, I am taking suggestions. They are a regular thing, just not very far up the tag team ladder. </p><p> </p><p> <strong>Lily Snyder vs Claire Winters © Shockwave Title match</strong></p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="MrWolf101" data-cite="MrWolf101" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="42699" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><em>Claire won a title! Winters is the future of the company. Trying to push her as the top heel was too much too strong, but like Vince not giving up on Roman, I’m not giving up on Claire even if she’s not going over right away. The Shockwave title is a flexible thing. I feel I can give it to a main eventer or a midcarder, and all it does is shift temporarily who’s fighting for it. </p><p> </p><p> Snyder as gatekeeper is probably true, but I feel that all she’s missing is a hot gimmick, a good streak, a bit of timing and she could be a more than this. Wow a lot has happened in the time I was away.

Talent raids losing several favorites (Talia, Paige and Thea).

Cherry losing it, suspending, resigning and then retiring.

Capitano losing a hair match (grow it back) and then winning the World Title over a heel Foxxy.

The fizzle of The Spector, just didn’t go where I thought it would.

Then a GM aducted and sent packing to parts unknown by a Mexican gang.

Killer Kass still killing but now on her own trying to rebuild her club...er company. Maybe Maribel is someone she will look at again since no one else wants to join her.

I enjoyed catching up and now will look forward to picking events again.

I don't think I even need to say that the push of the wrestlers below isn't written in stone, they fluctuate with the storylines. Capitano was an upper midcarder not too long ago, Killer Kass a main eventer. Huracán and Rojo were upper midcarders until recently. And so on.</p><p> </p><p>

<u><b>Higa</b></u></p><p>

Face, Ninja (Legendary), Small</p><p>

Style: Regular Wrestler </p><p>

2018 Queen of the Ring winner, 1x tag team champion (/w Gemmei Oonishi)</p><p>

Notes: Trained under legendary joshi wrestler Thunder Hike, Fuyukko Higa might be the best female wrestler in the world, but also the most difficult to work with. </p><p> </p><p>

<img src="<a href="http://i.imgur.com/HVIJsmp.jpg" rel="external nofollow">http://i.imgur.com/HVIJsmp.jpg"</a> alt="Jillian Jarvis" /> </p><p>

<u><b>Jillian Jarvis</b></u></p><p>

Heel, Biker (Above Average), Small</p><p>

Style: Regular Wrestler</p><p>

Current Shockwave Trios champion 1st reign. 2011 Queen of the Ring winner, 4x World champion, 1x tag team champion (/w Zoe Ammis)</p><p>

Manager: Vinny Cruz</p><p>

Notes: “The Iron Lady”, joined QAW in 2010 after a short tour of Japan the year before. Launched Ronin 3 in 2013 with Toni Parissi and Juana Huracán. Today, Jarvis gang consists of herself, Brooke Tyler and Amber Allen.</p><p> </p><p>

<img src="<a href="https://i.imgur.com/ZC6FQee.jpg" rel="external nofollow">https://i.imgur.com/ZC6FQee.jpg"</a> title="Lora Washington" /> </p><p>

<u><b>Lora Washington</b></u></p><p>

Face, Patriot (Above Average), Lightweight</p><p>

Style: Entertainer</p><p>

Current AAA Femme Fatale champion</p><p>

Notes: For most of her career, “American Woman” Lora Washington has performed under the moniker “Miss American Pie”. In QAW the Florida wrestler uses a much more toned down version of the same gimmick.</p><p> </p><p>

<img src="<a href="http://i.imgur.com/Xna0BZY.jpg" rel="external nofollow">http://i.imgur.com/Xna0BZY.jpg"</a> title="Yuki Moore" /> </p><p>

<u><b>Yuki Moore</b></u></p><p>

Face, Surfer Chick (Great), Small</p><p>

Style: Entertainer</p><p>

2x Shockwave Trios champion</p><p>

Note: Already something of a national celebrity, 22 year old Yuki abandoned a promising career as a pop star to pursue her passion in life - wrestling. She’s been in training on and off since she was 12 years old, so despite her youth, she’s already a technically well rounded performer. Seems to be loosely affiliating herself with Capitano.</p><p> </p><p>

<img src="<a href="http://i.imgur.com/W9znUzz.jpg" rel="external nofollow">http://i.imgur.com/W9znUzz.jpg"</a> alt="Zoe Ammis" /> </p><p>

<u><b>Zoe Ammis</b></u></p><p>

Heel, Chosen One (Very Good), Small</p><p>

Style: Regular Wrestler</p><p>

1x World champion, 1x tag team champion (/w Jillian Jarvis). </p><p>

Notes: Came in to QAW the first time as Jillian Jarvis henchwoman, rebelled and became the top babyface of the company. Was pushed as the figurehead of QAW but couldn’t handle the pressure, resigned from the company and joined AAA. Now she’s back, wants to reclaim that top spot, but on her own terms.</p><p> </p><p>

<u><b>Alina America</b></u></p><p>

Heel, Prima Donna (Great), Small</p><p>

Style: Regular Wrestler</p><p>

2016 Queen of the Ring winner, 3x Shockwave champion, 1x tag team champion (/w Claire Winters)</p><p>

Notes: If the beautiful and talented Alina had not struggled with substance abuse, there’s no telling what heights her career would have reached by now.. She’s convinced it was Capitano that got her fired and wants revenge.</p><p> </p><p>

<img src="<a href="http://i.imgur.com/Heo5HkZ.jpg" rel="external nofollow">http://i.imgur.com/Heo5HkZ.jpg"</a> alt="Chitose Ariwara" /> </p><p>

<u><b>Chitose Ariwara</b></u></p><p>

Face, Bubbly Babyface (Legendary), Small</p><p>

Style: Luchador</p><p>

2018 Contender’s Crown winner, 2019 Queen of the Ring winner, 1x World champion, 1x Shockwave champion, 1x Shockwave Trios champion</p><p>

Notes: Besides being the bubbly babyface that connects so well with the QAW fans, Chitose is the priestess of the fox temple which the ninjas Higa and Oonishi serves.. She has a reputation for being injury prone, but before 2019, her time in QAW was largely injury free. This year, a couple of injuries has interrupted her push.</p><p> </p><p>

<img src="<a href="http://i.imgur.com/JDg7ZNg.jpg" rel="external nofollow">http://i.imgur.com/JDg7ZNg.jpg"</a> alt="Christy Higgins" /> </p><p>

<u><b>Christy Higgins</b></u></p><p>

Face, Underdog (Legendary), Small</p><p>

Style: Cruiserweight</p><p>

Current tag team champion (/w Teresa Perez), third reign.</p><p>

Notes: Hailing from Florida, the high flyer rose from obscurity with the storyline teasing the breakup of Bubblegum Brawlers. Today she and partner Teresa Perez are closer to the main event than the undercard. She is in a relationship with play-by-play announcer Alfonso Garcia, and only recently returned from maternity leave after the birth of their first child.</p><p> </p><p>

<img src="<a href="http://i.imgur.com/SrJMR1G.jpg" rel="external nofollow">http://i.imgur.com/SrJMR1G.jpg"</a> alt="Killer Kass" /> </p><p>

<u><b>Killer Kass</b></u></p><p>

Heel, Hired Gun (Legendary), Middleweight</p><p>

Style: Brawler</p><p>

2019 Contender’s Crown winner, 1x tag team champion (/w Capitano)</p><p>

Manager: Dharma Gregg</p><p>

Notes: After falling out with USPW, Kass has done her best to establish herself as the top monster heel in QAW. It’s not been easy to acclimatize herself to QAW, but there are signs she is starting to find her place. Was second in command in Bad Girls Club before she seized control by kicking out the former leader Capitano. </p><p> </p><p>

<img src="<a href="http://i.imgur.com/tjDJHC2.jpg" rel="external nofollow">http://i.imgur.com/tjDJHC2.jpg"</a> alt="Teresa Perez" /> </p><p>

<u><b>Teresa Perez</b></u></p><p>

Face, Rebel (Average), Small</p><p>

Style: Luchador</p><p>

Current tag team champion (/w Christy Higgins) in their third reign. Also 1x tag team champion /w Houston Handley. 2x Shockwave champion, 1x Shockwave Trios champion</p><p>

Notes: An original member of the QAW roster and one of the most captivating in-ring performers. Together with Christy Higgins forms the one of the most decorated tag team in QAW history, the Bubblegum Brawlers. </p><p> </p><p>

<span style="font-size:14px;"><strong>Midcard</strong></span></p><p> </p><p>

<u><b>Brooke Tyler</b></u></p><p>

Heel, Franchise Player (Very Good), Lightweight</p><p>

Style: Regular Wrestler</p><p>

Current Shockwave Trios champion, in her second reign. 1x Shockwave champion.</p><p>

Manager: Vinny Cruz</p><p>

Notes: Being big in Canada does not automatically translate to success in Texas, is something Brooke Tyler has found out the hard way. In Ronin 3, she has started to find success in a collective.</p><p> </p><p>

<img src="<a href="http://i.imgur.com/vzm4Q0V.jpg" rel="external nofollow">http://i.imgur.com/vzm4Q0V.jpg"</a> alt="Claire Winters" /> </p><p>

<u><b>Claire Winters</b></u></p><p>

Heel, Pure Athlete (Very Good), Small</p><p>

Style: Brawler</p><p>

Current Shockwave champion, 1st reign. 2x tag team champion (1x /w Alina America, 1x /w Talia Quinzel)</p><p>

Notes: “Ice Cold” Claire Winters with her MMA background has been touted as the future of QAW. She established herself as the sidekick of Talia Quinzel in the Untouchables.</p><p> </p><p>

<img src="<a href="http://i.imgur.com/KMaU7bZ.jpg" rel="external nofollow">http://i.imgur.com/KMaU7bZ.jpg"</a> alt="Charity Sweet" /> </p><p>

<u><b>Charity Sweet </b></u></p><p>

Face, Goth (Above Average), Very Small</p><p>

Style: Cruiserweight</p><p>

1x Shockwave champion, 3x tag team champion (/w Deborah Young), 1x Shockwave Trios champion</p><p>

Notes: The stunning Charity Sweet had most of her success as part of Ronin 3, but has since left the biker gang, cleaned up her act and formed the romantically ambiguous (ambiguously romantic?) tag team with Ariel Breaks.</p><p> </p><p>

<img src="<a href="http://i.imgur.com/TsoCedO.jpg" rel="external nofollow">http://i.imgur.com/TsoCedO.jpg"</a> alt="Juana Huracán" /> </p><p>

<u><b>Juana Huracán</b></u></p><p>

Heel, MMA Bad Ass (Legendary), Small</p><p>

Style: Technician</p><p>

5x tag team champion (3x /w Toni Parissi, 1x /w Raquel Alvarado, 1x /w Pamela Rojo), 2x Shockwave Trios champion</p><p>

Notes: Technical wrestler from the east of Mexico. Was kicked out of Ronin 3, was welcomed into the Jaguar Clan. Over the years, she’s turned into the foremost tag team specialist in QAW, capturing the tag team titles five times, with three different partners.</p><p> </p><p>

<img src="<a href="http://i.imgur.com/URwMR50.jpg" rel="external nofollow">http://i.imgur.com/URwMR50.jpg"</a> alt="Lily Snyder" /> </p><p>

<u><b>Lily Snyder</b></u></p><p>

Face, Ice Woman (Average), Lightweight</p><p>

Style: Regular Wrestler</p><p>

1x tag team champion (/w Ava Anderson), 1x Shockwave Trios champion</p><p>

Notes: Ever since she joined QAW in 2014, South Dakotan Lily Snyder’s career has been intertwined with that of Ava Anderson, forming the longest running tag team in the company’s history. A “good hand”, there are still those that think she has the potential to be more than just a very reliable midcarder. </p><p> </p><p>

<img src="<a href="http://i.imgur.com/UsrKpsP.jpg" rel="external nofollow">http://i.imgur.com/UsrKpsP.jpg"</a> alt="Maria Guest" /> </p><p>

<u><b>Maria Guest</b></u></p><p>

Face, Bubbly Babyface (Very Good), Small </p><p>

Style: Regular Wrestler</p><p>

1x tag team champion (/w Alexis Lee), 1x Shockwave Trios champion</p><p>

Notes: The protege of Farrah Hesketh, the technical wrestler from Missouri has not had quite the success in QAW everyone predicted, though it’s early days yet. Has feuded with Etsuko Arihyoshi since Etsuko turned heel. Sometime ally of Chitose Ariwara. </p><p> </p><p>

<img src="<a href="http://i.imgur.com/koWhAJc.jpg" rel="external nofollow">http://i.imgur.com/koWhAJc.jpg"</a> alt="Maribel Mercado" /> </p><p>

<u><b>Maribel Mercado</b></u></p><p>

Heel, Arrogant Heel (Very Good), Very Small</p><p>

Style: Luchador</p><p>

1x Shockwave champion, 2x Shockwave Trios champion</p><p>

Notes: At one point, the protege of Miss Mexico was seen as the next big thing. Today, it seems unlikely she’ll reach the heights people once predicted, but she’s still one of QAW’s most exciting high flyers. Maribel has shown good rapport with Jaguar Queen, together forming tag team High Society, still waiting for their first big win.</p><p> </p><p>

<img src="<a href="http://i.imgur.com/9pIGoQA.jpg" rel="external nofollow">http://i.imgur.com/9pIGoQA.jpg"</a> alt="Pamela Rojo" /> </p><p>

<u><b>Pamela Rojo</b></u></p><p>

Heel, Bad Ass (Above Average), Lightweight</p><p>

Style: Brawler</p><p>

2010 Queen of the Ring winner, 1x Shockwave champion, 4x tag team champion (3x /w Hellcat Hernandez, 1x /w Juana Huracán), 1x Shockwave Trios champion</p><p>

Notes: The powerful Pamela Rojo has been with QAW since the start in 2010 and was the original Queen of the Ring. Has replaced Jaguar Queen as the actual authority in the Jaguar Clan together with Guerreros Azteca tag team partner Juana Huracán. </p><p> </p><p>

<img src="<a href="http://i.imgur.com/oz8ZpSz.jpg" rel="external nofollow">http://i.imgur.com/oz8ZpSz.jpg"</a> alt="Purple Viper" /> </p><p>

<u><b>Purple Viper</b></u></p><p>

Heel, Snake (Great), Small</p><p>

Style: Luchador</p><p>

3x Shockwave champion, 1x Shockwave Trios champion</p><p>

Notes: Purple Viper grew up a fan of OLLIE, and after a first stint in QAW joined the Mexican lucha promotion in 2015. Two years later she was convinced to return to QAW, splitting her time between the two companies. Backroom politics has seriously soured her relationship with Paige Croft, to the point it was widely believed Purple Viper would leave QAW before they’d come to blows, but Croft acted first when she signed a written contract with 5SSW.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="font-size:14px;">Lower Midcard</span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<img src="<a href="https://i.imgur.com/9hQaVsC.jpg" rel="external nofollow">https://i.imgur.com/9hQaVsC.jpg"</a> title="Amber Allen" /></p><p>

<u><b>Amber Allen</b></u></p><p>

Heel, Fabulous Heel (Average), Small</p><p>

Style: Technician</p><p>

Current Shockwave Trios champion, 1st reign</p><p>

Manager: Vinny Cruz</p><p>

Notes: The protege of Steffi Chee, well regarded for her technical wrestling. When she joined QAW, she almost immediately also got an invitation to the Ronin 3 as fellow former NOTBPW colleague Brooke Tyler had joined just before. </p><p> </p><p>

<img src="<a href="http://i.imgur.com/aI0ZR2b.jpg" rel="external nofollow">http://i.imgur.com/aI0ZR2b.jpg"</a> alt="Etsuko Arihyoshi" /> </p><p>

<u><b>Etsuko Arihyoshi</b></u></p><p>

Heel, Lone Wolf (Great), Small</p><p>

Style: Technician</p><p>

1x Shockwave champion, 1x Shockwave Trios champion</p><p>

Notes: At every turn, Etsuko has been let down, betrayed or overshadowed by the people nearest to her. She used to be part of the circle around Chitose Ariwara, but these days, Etsuko only relies on herself. One of the top submission wrestlers in QAW. </p><p> </p><p>

<img src="<a href="http://i.imgur.com/GkDopuh.jpg" rel="external nofollow">http://i.imgur.com/GkDopuh.jpg"</a> alt="Gemmei Oonishi" /> </p><p>

<u><b>Gemmei Oonishi</b></u></p><p>

Face, Ninja (Average), Small</p><p>

Style: Cruiserweight</p><p>

1x tag team champion (/w Higa)</p><p>

Notes: The Japanese teen idol has been the side kick of Higa since she joined QAW. Part of the Birds of Prey, arguably the number 1 tag team in women’s wrestling, if Bubblegum Brawlers didn’t happen to carry the QAW tag team titles.</p><p> </p><p>

<img src="<a href="http://i.imgur.com/3Pd84Om.jpg" rel="external nofollow">http://i.imgur.com/3Pd84Om.jpg"</a> alt="Jaguar Queen" /> </p><p>

<u><b>Jaguar Queen</b></u></p><p>

Heel, High Society (Average), Lightweight</p><p>

Style: Regular Wrestler</p><p>

2x Shockwave Trios champion</p><p>

Notes: Since she lost control of Jaguar Clan to Guerreras Azteca Jaguar Queen has focused more on the tag team with Maribel Mercado, and has even had *some* success with it. </p><p> </p><p>

<span style="font-size:14px;"><strong>Openers and Enhancement Talent</strong></span></p><p> </p><p>

<img src="<a href="http://i.imgur.com/xse8Ceh.jpg" rel="external nofollow">http://i.imgur.com/xse8Ceh.jpg"</a> alt="Águila Azul Celeste" /> </p><p>

<u><b>Águila Azul Celeste</b></u></p><p>

Face, Old School Face (Average), Small</p><p>

Style: Luchador</p><p>

1x Shockwave Trios champion</p><p>

Notes: Few has had so much trouble turning apparent talent into in-ring success. Even though she wouldn’t march in step with the amoral ways of Jaguar Queen’s leadership, she was was still tolerated in the Jaguar Clan. Under Rojo and Huracán, she has been brutally thrown out.</p><p> </p><p>

<u><b>Ariel Breaks</b></u></p><p>

Face, Underdog (Great), Small</p><p>

Style: Cruiserweight</p><p>

Notes: The Canadian internet indie darling from Toronto, trained by Melody, inspired by fast-paced Japanese joshi legends like Sensational Ogiwara. </p><p> </p><p>

<img src="<a href="http://i.imgur.com/Q80IvHf.jpg" rel="external nofollow">http://i.imgur.com/Q80IvHf.jpg"</a> title="Bessie Psycho" /> </p><p>

<u><b>Bessie Psycho</b></u></p><p>

Face, Weirdo (Above Average), Small</p><p>

Style: Regular Wrestler</p><p>

Notes: From the first day at the Supreme Wrestling University, Bessie was such a top talent, there was talk in SWF about changing their product to somehow fit her into their product. A women’s division? Impossible? Maybe. The stunningly good looks and natural star quality had SWF brass salivating at the possibility of a new fix star in the making. It never came to be. Whether SWF were too conservative to change, or if Bessie was just a little bit too quirky to fit into the corporate environment, she left the dojo and SWF in 2017. Her finisher is the ‘Bear Fist’.</p><p> </p><p>

<u><b>Jessi Crash</b></u></p><p>

Heel, Daddy’s Little Girl (Average), Lightweight</p><p>

Style: Brawler</p><p>

Manager: Freddie Datsun</p><p>

Notes: 23 years old Geraldine Crash got her wrestling training at the Supreme Wrestling University. She’s hailing from North Carolina. Billed as the daughter of commissioner Freddie Datsun. Described as a reliable worker, but there are questions about what her upside might be, and a frequent criticism is that she does not have the power to capitalize on her size advantage. Her finisher is the ‘Lights Out Smash’. </p><p> </p><p>

Heel, Cocky Youth (Above Average), Small</p><p>

Style: Regular Wrestler</p><p>

Notes: 20 years old trained at the Mid Atlantic Boot Camp who grew up in Nebraska. Besides being a natural heel, Lucy has great comedic timing and is known for her good fundamentals and impressive toughness. Her finisher is the ‘Whip-In High Knee’.</p><p> </p><p>

<p>Really good show. My picks sucked, and I'm still in shock over Capitano capturing the belt, but I'll live. That Bessie Psycho render...I'd be scared to get in the ring with her.</p><p> </p><p> Always good to get a roster update to see where everyone is too. It was also interesting to see how spread out the title reigns have been among the roster.</p><p> </p><p> I'm surprised to see Chitose has fallen from main event to upper midcard, but like you said, those things are always fluid. My guess is she probably has a rematch coming with Foxxy outside of the Christmas Tree Battle, but maybe you get the title off her before then so you can have a hot feud along with a separate feud for the belt. Let's say title reign last three months and she drops the belt to Kass (no idea why I think that). As for the participants in the ladder match, I'll say Capitano faces Foxxy, Jarvis and Ammis, so that Jillian and Zoe's beef gets in the way of Foxxy, leading to Capitano retaining.</em></p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="42699" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div> Likewise, a mystery player, a big time player enters the picture for Claire Winters’ Shockwave title. I'm thinking you are getting Claire ready for a big push towards the World title a year or two down the road, so you probably want someone experienced who can teach Winters while also letting Winters leech some popularity off of her. I'll say Higa, but Claire prevails.</em></p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="42699" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p> What other storylines would you like to see focus on? The transition from the month summaries meant we missed out on the intros for some of the newer wrestlers, so maybe some more establishment of their characters is in order if you have plans for them in the near-term. As I said previously, I'd have thought Charity would be further along by now, but performance always dictates push, so I imagine she's where she should be based on that.</em></p><p> </p><p> Card for Army of One Week 1 December 2019</p><p> </p><p> Opening Match: <strong>Charity Sweet & Ariel Breaks</strong> vs High Society (Jaguar Queen & Maribel Mercado)</p><p> <em>It's a new day in QAW, but that doesn't mean I can bring myself to pick Jaguar Queen to win a match.
