As you may notice, there are a lot of unnamed finishers. If you have any suggestions, I would be happy to incorporate your ideas.

<p>I wonder if I could get used to non-blonde Paige? The name for her shining wizard is taken, however. Good job. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

I think the Laura Flame avatar works. For a moment I considered using it for Pamela Rojo instead, because I really don't like that version of her, and whatever long red haired image would be an improvement. But I like it for Laura. It's good. That it's less aggressive is fine I think for babyface Laura.</p>

The Wrestling Gazetteer

<hr>

Army of One Event Review

<img src="
alt="Billy Barton" />

This report is of the Army of One event from week 1 November. QAW took to the road, setting up shop at the Huntsville Fairgrounds in the South East. Official attendance was 2,740 people. Even though it was a smaller show most of the big names were there, the only notable absence being Paige Croft and some upper midcarders. There are no reports of any injuries, so we assume Paige just got the night off.

Two dark matches opened the card which contained two title matches, but more on those later.

<img src="
alt="Águila Azul Celeste" />  vs <img src="
alt="Maribel Mercado" />

Dark Match: Águila Azul Celeste vs Maribel Mercado

Doing their best to get the crowd going, Águila Azul Celeste and Maribel as a wrestling match it never really gets going. A pop up powerbomb followed by Maribel’s patented High Altitude Leg drop put an end to the match.

Maribel Mercado wins by pinfall in 11:38

Match Rating: D-

<img src="
alt="Gemmei Oonishi" />  vs <img src="
alt="Jaguar Queen" />

Dark Match: Gemmei Oonishi vs Jaguar Queen

If the first dark match was bad, it’s nothing compared to the mess Oonishi and the Jaguar Queen manage to put on display. Gemmei mercifully puts an end to the match with a Shuriken Cutter.

Gemmei Oonishi wins by pinfall in 12:05

Match Rating: E

<img src="
alt="Killer Kass" /> <img src="
alt="Maribel Mercado" />

In the next segment, Killer Kass is walking down a corridor backstage, and Maribel Mercado is trying to keep up with her. Maribel make excuses for their loss last week to Foxxy and Capitano. She wants to join Bad Girls Inc, but Kass tells her she wants to be impressed, and it’s clear Maribel currently is *not* impressing her.

Segment Rating: C

<img src="

alt="Dharma Gregg" />  vs <img src="
alt="Charity Sweet" /> <img src="
alt="Deborah Young" />  /w <img src="
alt="Vinny Cruz" />

Opening match: Top Dogs /w Dharma Gregg vs Special Edition /w Vinny Cruz

After her loss to Kass last week, Charity has turned to her tag team partner for help, and Killer Kass and Deborah Young, the two most dominant monsters of QAW go toe to toe, with Kass possibly coming out on top, if barely. It is however Spectre that gets the win, putting Charity in an ankle lock that forces the tapout.

Spectre wins by submission in 16:13

Match Rating: C-

<img src="
alt="Jillian Jarvis" />

As the match ends and Spectre and Kass stand tall over their defeated opponents, Jillian Jarvis appear out of nowhere and blindside Kass, raining down punches on her until Spectre comes to her assistance, helping Kass to create some separation and they retreat with Kass cursing out Jarvis on her way out.

Segment Rating: C

<img src="
alt="Chitose Ariwara" /> <img src="
alt="Talia Quinzel" /><img src="
alt="World Champion" /><img src="
alt="Tag Team Champion" />

Next Chitose Ariwara come out and address the fans, commiserating over her loss to Talia, promises to bounce back, alludes to the ambush before the match and challenges Talia to face her without her sidekick Claire Winters as a crutch. Talia appears briefly at the top of the ramp, running down the idea that she relies on Claire, angrily promising Chitose that she’ll beat her fair and square next time they face off.

Segment Rating: B

<img src="

Match 2: Etsuko Arihyoshi vs Brooke Tyler vs Cherry Bomb © Shockwave Title match

An open match where everyone get some offense in, Brooke Tyler initially looks quite dominant, pushing both Etsuko and Cherry Bomb around, and Etsuko hitting Cherry with a Michinoku driver for a near fall only interrupted at the last moment by Brooke. In the end though, it is Cherry who gets Brooke out of the ring long enough to hit Etsuko with the Cherry Bomb and pins her for the three count.

Cherry Bomb wins by pinfall in 11:32

Match Rating: C

<img src="
alt="Hannah Potter" /><img src="
alt="Talia Quinzel" /><img src="
alt="World Champion" /><img src="
alt="Tag Team Champion" />

Hannah Potter is in the ring, invites Talia Quinzel to celebrate her World championship title. Talia brags about now carrying *two* titles, and how she’s been facing opposition every step of her career and still now finds herself top of the mountain. Predictably, their interaction turn sour, and rather than allowing herself to be intimidated by Talia, Hannah tells her that if she wants to brag about being a double champion, she better get used to defending her position - starting tonight, in a match for the Tag Team titles against Foxxy LaRue and Laura Flame. This enrages Talia who looks ready to unleash on Hannah, but thinks better about it and storms off instead.

Segment Rating: A

<img src="

alt="Farrah Hesketh" /> <img src="

Next the announce team put over the fact that ever since the Miss Mexico battle royal, Capitano and Purple Viper have had a hard time drawing even backstage, a conflict perhaps fueled by competition for the same niche as the top high flyer.

Segment Rating: D+

<img src="
alt="Capitano" />  vs <img src="
alt="Purple Viper" />

Match 3: Capitano vs Purple Viper

In what promised to be a flippy affair between two of QAW’s premier high flyers, Purple Viper kept trolling Capitano and the audience by rolling out of the way whenever Capitano went top rope, putting a damper on the excitement - at least for a while, toward the end of the match Capitano gets to display all her top rope maneuvers, hitting Purple Viper with a missile dropkick, a slingshot senton and finishes it off with her signature Springboard 450 for the win.

Capitano wins by pinfall in 10:51

Match Rating: C

Main Event: Bad Girls vs The Untouchables © Tag Team title match

Initially it’s a close match, but the Untouchables aggressively go after Laura’s knee, and bit by bit she’s rendered ineffective until she’s laid out ringside, unable to even get to her feet, leaving Foxxy to take on the Untouchables on her own. She makes an heroic attempt, looking almost like she could take on the world champion and her sidekick at the same time, but it is an attempt doomed to fail, and eventually she’s stuck in the enemy corner of the ring, double teamed by Talia and Claire until Talia delivers the Spinal Trauma, and it’s all over.

Talia Quinzel wins by pinfall in 20:54

Match Rating: C+ (67)

<img src="
title="Laura Flame" />

After the match, Laura is tended to by medical staff, clearly in pain from her knee. Talia and Claire can’t help mocking her, shedding fake tears at her pain. As Laura is carried out, Claire can’t resist running up and giving her one last big stomp, causing the medics to drop the stretcher with Laura to the ground.

I think this format of event report is what I’m going to stick with going forward, at least for the average weekly shows. I’ve found that writing dialogue is something that takes a lot of time, and I don’t enjoy it very much either. I hope it doesn’t ruin your enjoyment too much.

<p>Pretty good format, simple enough for you to write an gets the promos' meaning across. I don't mind the loss of dialogue, it's still an enjoyable read.</p><p> </p><p>

Also, damn you Capitano and Viper for ruining my near 100% prediction! <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

<p>I like the new format as well. You have to do what fits into your schedule (this isn't a full time job after all <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />), and this looks like it would be way more manageable. I like that it is a review from an outside party, as I think it allows you to add some additional perspective when you do need to emphasis storyline points.</p><p> </p><p>

As for finisher names, maybe Paige's shinning wizard as the 'Terminator' or 'Terminator Kick'?</p>

Guest, for me, just became one of the company's uber-faces. Because it's easy to be good when you're not presented with any temptation. It's choosing to do good when you can make the choice not to do so and achieve an immediate benefit that is laudable. <p>Woo-hoo! Perfect score! It's been awhile since I've gotten one of those. I'll call it a lucky break. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

I forgot to say, thank you for posting that roster update. Your popularity increases make me jealous. I'm thinking it could be some changes to the code that are slowing you down from getting people over as fast as you used too, as I've something similar in my game (though on a smaller scale), but that could just be me being paranoid.</p><p> </p><p>

Dark Match: Águila Azul Celeste vs <strong>Charity Sweet</strong></p><p>

<em>The eagle soars low on the horizon.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Opening Match: Gemmei Oonishi vs <strong>Deborah Young</strong></p><p>

<em>Hmmm. I think Gemmei is the bigger priority right now, but I'd probably root for Deborah if this was real life, so I'll go with heart over head.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Match 2: <strong>Chitose Ariwara, Etsuko Arihyoshi & Maria Guest</strong> vs The Franchise Players © Shockwave Trios title match</p><p>

<em>Going with DQ finish. I'm glad your work with Brooke is paying off, as I see her as a main eventer in a year or two. That said, Chitose is going for the main title. Yes, it is a little weird that Maria got over from the storyline with Etsuko, but I feel like both benefited (I do care about what happens with Arihyoshi more now).</em></p><p> </p><p>

Match 3: Foxxy LaRue & Laura Flame vs Top Dogs vs <strong>Paige Croft & Thea Davis</strong> 3-way match for a Tag Team title match</p><p>

<em>Ah, now this is interesting. Do Foxxy and Laura get another shot? I would definitely pay to see Kass and Talia battle it out. And then there's Paige, who remains the top person on the roster. So tough, but lets go with Paige and Thea (with Thea getting a nice bump up) to get Paige back in the World title picture after some trouble with Talia and Claire.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Main Event: Juana Huracán vs <strong>Cherry Bomb</strong> © Shockwave title match</p><p>

<em>Wow, should be a hard hitting match, but Cherry isn't done elevating the Shockwave title.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Bonus Questions:</p><p> </p><p>

A wrestler can’t compete and is replaced. Who is replaced by who? Hmm, how about <strong>Huracán, and replaced by Jarvis</strong>. Still would pay to see that match. I almost said Gemmei replaced by Higa, but that would make me change my pick for the opener. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p>

How many titles change hands? I'll say <strong>zero</strong>.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

Tie breaker: What’s the attendance? (Last time in the Mid West drew a capacity crowd of 1,800 at the War Memorial Auditorium. Starland Ballroom has a capacity of 2,200) Sell outs all around, <strong>2,200</strong></p>

Águila Azul Celeste vs Charity Sweet

Charity needs the win after last show. Doubt Aguila even has "pin" in her moveset by now

Gemmei Oonishi vs Deborah Young

Gemmei is probably the better one but she can live with the loss here. Debbie gets the win to cement her monster status

Chitose Ariwara, Etsuko Arihyoshi & Maria Guest vs The Franchise Players © Shockwave Trios title match

Chitose brings the starpower, but is a singles competitor going after the big title. Can't see this team holding on to the trios titles.

Foxxy LaRue & Laura Flame vs Top Dogs vs Paige Croft & Thea Davis 3-way match for a Tag Team title match

Perhaps the most unpredictable match in the card. Striking out the top dogs, because no heel vs heel title match, plus Kass has been underperforming and she seems to be in a storyline with Maribel Mercado at the moment. Foxxy Flame are close but no cigar, they still need some tag experience and Laura has to grow, as was evident in the last match. Going with Croft&Davis here, Paige is top tier and she could put on a good title match, plus this gives her something to do while at the same time elevating Thea Davis.

Juana Huracán vs Cherry Bomb © Shockwave title match

Cherry isn't done yet. Also, since it's an open challenge, I'm calling "LOL CENA WINS" on this :D

Bonus Questions:

A wrestler can’t compete and is replaced. Who is replaced by who?

Not sure if I'm reading this right, so I'll answer both versions. If the above is the final card, I'm guessing Higa got arrested and Juana Huracan filled in for her (I can totally see Higa dethroning Cherry Bomb down the line). If the change happens to alter the names above, I'm guessing the other way round, Higa fills in for Juana.

How many titles change hands?

Zero, unless Higa fills in for Juana (see previous answer). In that case, Higa beats Cherry Bomb

<b>Tie breaker:</b> What’s the attendance? (Last time in the Mid West drew a capacity crowd of 1,800 at the War Memorial Auditorium. Starland Ballroom has a capacity of 2,200)

Don't remember when was the last time, if it's been a while there's a good chance for a sellout, but I'll take it easy and predict a well rounded 2.000

It’s week 2 of November, and QAW are still on the road, this Monday setting up shop in the Starland Ballroom in the Mid West. A capacity crowd of 2,200 showed up for a show that perhaps was more about setting up for big moments in the future than having them right now. Still, some highlights are worth checking out. <b>Dark Match: Águila Azul Celeste vs Charity Sweet</b> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

A decidedly mediocre match isn’t helped by the half empty ballroom still filling up. The two high flyers do their best to warm up the crowd, but it’s a hard task. Charity grabs the win, hitting Águila Azul Celeste with the Sugar Smack.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

The main show opens with a segment from backstage where Deborah Young has found Gemmei Oonishi all alone, and it looks like she feels she has found an easy target to push around. After some poking, prodding and veiled and not so veiled threats and insults which does not affect Gemmei other than to make her brow twitch in anger, and finally she’s had enough. Despite her relatively small stature, Gemmei gets up in Deborah’s face, and it would have come to blows if Hannah Potter had not showed up and interrupted them, telling them to sort out their problems in the ring, and that’s the opening match.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

<b>Opening Match: Gemmei Oonishi vs Deborah Young /w Vinny Cruz</b></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Gemmei gets some early offense in, shows agility in dodging and weaving out of the way of Deborah’s big swings, but eventually she gets overconfident and that’s the end of it. A cross body attack is caught mid air, and that’s the end of it, as Deborah proceeds to push Gemmei around, ending affairs mercifully quickly with a sit out power bomb.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

We cut to a backstage segment. Foxxy LaRue is getting ready for her match later in the evening together with Laura Flame for the top contender spot in the tag team division. The door opens and Laura comes in - on crutches. Foxxy looks stunned as Laura explains she will be out for a while as her knee heels, but since she knows how much this matters to Foxxy, she has arranged for a replacement, and as she says that, Capitano steps into the room. There’s an awkward moment of silence before they shake hands and seem to agree to bury the hatchet for Laura’s sake.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

<b>Match 2: Chitose Ariwara, Etsuko Arihyoshi & Maria Guest vs The Franchise Players © Shockwave Trios title match</b></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

While the Franchise Players are looking more and more well oiled for every match they go, Etsuko, Maria and Chitose look ready to die for each other, and that’s how the match goes - Franchise Players set up traps and combos that Chitose, Maria and Etsuko have to fight their way out of, but it is Maria’s self-sacrifice taking out both herself and Brooke Tyler as they tumble together to the outside from the top turnbuckle and Chitose suicide dives to take out Lily Snyder, leaving Ava Anderson stuck in Etsuko’s Arihyoshi Lockdown, and any hope to reach the ropes Etsuko is strong enough to counter, until Ava taps. After having celebrated her new title, Chitose grabs a microphone and issues a challenge to Talia, requesting a rematch for the World title. Talia comes out with Claire in tow and after some back and forth where Talia runs down the former champion reminding that Chitose never held *two* titles, but it is Talia that show thin skin as the retorts about cowardice seem to bite much harder, and in fury, Talia accepts the challenge. At which point Higa appears - literally out of nowhere as is her habit - and points out that as Queen of the Ring, SHE is due a shot at the World title. Chitose and Higa argue a bit - more civilly than Chitose and Talia, but there is an edge, an undertone that suggests that while there is civility, there is not much love lost between the two, despite being loosely allied.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

After a while, Hannah Potter comes out and declares that at Scars and Stripes in three weeks, the World title will be on the line in a 3-way match between the three. Talia complains that once again, the powers in charge are stacking the odds against her, but vows to make them regret it. </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

<i>BB: From the reaction, I think the back and forth between Chitose and Talia is what people are going to remember this show for. <b>Match 3: Foxxy LaRue & Capitano vs Top Dogs /w Dharma Gregg vs Paige Croft & Thea Davis 3-way match for a Tag Team title match</b></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

As one might expect from a three-way tag match it’s a rather chaotic affair. The team of LaRue and Capitano looks particularly good. The ending of the match however is a bit of a mess. There’s a brief clash where everyone is knocked down, in or out of the ring. By the announce table, Claire and Talia share a look, then slide into the ring and start stomping down on anyone they can get to. Spectre takes a couple of kicks then roll out of the ring, leaving Foxxy and Paige to take the brunt of their ire. Referee Erin Lawrence at first looks uncertain what to do, but seeing the match turn into a mockery, she eventually decides to call for the bell, declaring the match a non-contest.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Hannah Potter comes out, and while Talia and Claire are high fiving in the ring, the general manager looks like she’s barely containing her fury. She tells them if they think this is somehow going to help them, they’re sorely mistaken. Since nobody lost the top contender match, she says, they will all get a shot at the titles next week when Army of One returns to the Ranch of San Antonio. Talia and Claire look outraged at this decision, and they’re about to go after the general manager but Foxxy LaRue gets in between, backed up by Capitano. There’s a bit of a staredown, until Talia scoffs and storms off with Claire in tow.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Yeah, I probably should have caught that Laura would be the one to be replaced. Even after all this time, I forget that the shows aren't monthly so injury angles can actually take wrestlers out for the next show. :)

Surprised by the Franchise Players drop the titles, but you're right it's a good way to continue Maria and Etsuko's storyline, and having Chitose with them means it automatically is given higher visibility.

As for the popularity increases, yeah 50 increase in 6 months is amazing. I know you run more shows, but I think 50 is what I've gotten Kate Avatar up in 5 years, if that. :p Part of it has to do with the high watermark you're able to set with your most over wrestler, since losing to them will still increase a less popular wrestlers overness. The match ratings are probably helping as well.

Dark Match: Etsuko Arihyoshi vs Jaguar Queen

Jaguar Queen still equals loss. ;)

Opening Match: Jillian Jarvis vs ???

'Warm' in the loosest sense of the word? :)

Match 2: Águila Azul Celeste, Pamela Rojo and Teresa Perez vs The Franchise Players

Have to think that Celeste is there to eat the pin to help get the Franchise Players back on the right side of the docket.

Match 3: Chitose Ariwara vs Higa

Now this IS interesting. Friendly sparring sessions tend to go bad fast, and with Higa being notoriously prickly backstage, it would be cool to see that come through here.

Main Event: Foxxy LaRue & Capitano vs Top Dogs vs Paige Croft & Thea Davis vs The Untouchables © 4-way Tag Team title match

So this would be one way to get the tag titles off of Talia. :p Realy conflicted here, but I think this would be a good way of getting Kass and Spectre a nice win, and there are a lot of face teams they can go against while Talia has the World title to feud over.

Bonus Questions:

A "rookie" debuts in a match against Jillian Jarvis. Who? (North American, with just about no previous experience, so no, it's not Melody...)

Hmmmm, rookie eh? The 'just about no previous experience' thing is throwing me, as in I think this means overall wrestling and not just QAW. It could be a game-generated character, but I don't think you'd do that. I'll say Juliette King and call it a day.

One match ends in a no-contest. Which? Well then. I think Chitose vs Higa is the obvious answer, but because of that, and because I want to see a finish in that one, I'm going to say you are going in a different direction and it's actually the 3 vs 3 match.

Does the tag team titles change hands? Ah, damn, let's say no as a hedge.

Tie breaker: What’s the show rating? Been a few shows since QAW has been home in the Mid-South. Not sure what the main event will pull, but tag matches usually do good for you, so I'll go 75

Also, the tag teams of Foxxy LaRue & Capitano and Paige Croft & Thea Davis should perhaps be named something? Any ideas?

Ooph, my naming creativity has run dry recently, but Paige is the Tiny Terminator and Thea Davis is the Red Queen so lets say Queens of Termination? Yeah, I've been bad lately. :o Foxxy and Capitano should have something that plays off their history, but my well has run dry, so I'll probably come back to that one at a later time. :D

No, not a game-generated character. That wouldn't be fair. :)

<p>Interesting swerve in the trios titles changing hands. It's not just payoff for Maria and Etsuko's storyline, it's also a push for Chitose in her fight against Talia. Each has a team title so they're feuding over the "one up" of also having a singles title.</p><p> </p><p>

Dark Match: <strong>Etsuko Arihyoshi</strong> vs Jaguar Queen</p><p>

You mean "Jaguar Pin"</p><p> </p><p>

Opening Match: <strong>Jillian Jarvis</strong> vs ???</p><p>

Quite predictable outcome. Knowing it's a super green rookie only makes it easier to predict, though I guess the real question here is who will debut</p><p> </p><p>

Match 2: Águila Azul Celeste, Pamela Rojo and Teresa Perez vs <strong>The Franchise Players </strong></p><p>

Franchise Players recover momentum, Aguila is there to take the pin and sadly, Rojo will once more not win <img alt=":(" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/frown.png.e6b571745a30fe6a6f2e918994141a47.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

Match 3: Chitose Ariwara vs Higa</p><p>

Going with a no-contest for this. Both are high caliber competitors and a 3 way match against Talia feels like the way to go next. I'm guessing Talia interferes and gets punished for it by having to face both women.</p><p> </p><p>

Main Event: Foxxy LaRue & Capitano vs Top Dogs vs Paige Croft & Thea Davis vs <strong>The Untouchables</strong> © 4-way Tag Team title match</p><p>

Feels like an intentional DQ retain, but let's think this through. Foxxy&Capitano could make the pair of uneasy champions, plus there's narrative potential once Laura returns. Paige&Thea are due for a push, but I think right now they serve you better outside storylines so you can fill in holes when booking matches. Top Dogs could win this, Spectre could use the boost but I doubt you have enough faith in Kass to put the strap on her. Most likely outcome is they blame each other for the loss, leading to some high stakes match that'll rid you of one while pushing the other (Kass' career vs Spectre's mask sounds fitting eventually). Finally, the Untouchables have good reason to retain and I think Talia's "I got both titles" gimmick still has mileage in it, so I'll pick them over Foxxy&Capitano, whose loss could also fuel their feud.</p><p> </p><p>

Bonus Questions:</p><p>

A "rookie" debuts in a match against Jillian Jarvis. Who? (North American, with just about no previous experience, so no, it's not Melody...)</p><p>

Not versed with the US female scene, so I'll pass</p><p> </p><p>

<p>Missed the predictions but enjoyed the show. I think you're getting a decent handle on the weekly shows - there was a title change, which is good because it makes the weekly shows worth paying attention to, but the weekly shows are clearly building toward a bigger blow-off show. It's a good rhythm to get into, I think.</p><p> </p><p>

Dark Match: <strong>Etsuko Arihyoshi</strong> vs Jaguar Queen</p><p>

<em>Honestly, Jaguar Queen's probably pretty happy to be picking up paychecks and not having to do much work - though she always does a job, no?</em></p><p> </p><p>

Opening Match: <strong>Jillian Jarvis</strong> vs ???</p><p>

<em>A newly signed wrestler gets a warm welcome.</em></p><p><em>

Hmmm. First match, and they're up against Jarvis? Tough draw. Little to no experience...hmmm. There's not a whole lot of choices that are anywhere near the pop of Jarvis, so I'm thinking this is to get some face sympathy off a huge beatdown, maybe having someone come in and make the save, and have that person get into it with Jarvis.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Match 2: Águila Azul Celeste, Pamela Rojo and Teresa Perez vs <strong>The Franchise Players</strong> </p><p>

Brooke, Ava and Lily looking to take out their rage from losing their trios titles on the Jaguar Clan (and Teresa Perez). </p><p>

<em>Gotta keep the Franchise Players looking like a real threat. Blue Sky Eagle's presence suggests who's going to pinned without hurting either Rojo or Perez's momentum.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Match 3: Chitose Ariwara vs <strong>Higa</strong></p><p>

A bit of "friendly sparring" a week and change before the big match at Scars and Stripes for Talia's World title.</p><p>

<em>Maybe Higa's willing to put her fellow countrywoman over. Oh, who am I kidding? She would complain about putting over Goku. It'll be close, I think.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Main Event: <strong>Foxxy LaRue & Capitano</strong> vs Top Dogs vs Paige Croft & Thea Davis vs The Untouchables © 4-way Tag Team title match</p><p>

With three challenging teams, can the Untouchables hold on to their titles? </p><p>

<em>Man. On one hand, you can get the belts off the Untouchables without them actually "losing" the match. Could be a good way to get Talia back to a single-belt champion. I think Foxxy and Cappy win this one, and it pushes towards a Quinzel/Capitano title match.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Bonus Questions:</p><p>

A "rookie" debuts in a match against Jillian Jarvis. Who? (North American, with just about no previous experience, so no, it's not Melody...)</p><p>

<em>I don't think </em><em><strong>Simony Sentinel</strong></em><em> starts off on a roster, does she? I'm going to go with her, since she's got decent pop for someone without any roster experience to speak of. She's a high-flyer too, which should fit well with the QAW product.</em></p><p> </p><p>

One match ends in a no-contest. Which?</p><p>

<em>Hedging my bets here - if Higa doesn't win, the </em><em><strong>Higa/Ariwara</strong></em><em> match is a prime candidate for a no-contest.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Does the tag team titles change hands?</p><p>

<em>I do believe that </em><em><strong>it does</strong></em><em>.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Tie breaker: What’s the show rating? </p><p>

<em>If you're in the Mid-South home base, I'll go with </em><em><strong>70</strong></em><em>.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Also, the tag teams of Foxxy LaRue & Capitano and Paige Croft & Thea Davis should perhaps be named something? Any ideas?</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Foxxy and Cappy - Capital Foxxes?</strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>

Mostly renders you might want to use

Paige Croft

<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z115/Scavenger68/TEW/QAW/Paige%20Croft.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo Paige Croft.jpg"/></a>

Secondary Finisher: Turn the Paige (Shining Wizard)

I just found another wrestler I want to use this render for rather than for Paige. You'll see at next show. :)

<i>BB: After the dark match, the actual show opens with a filmed segment:</i></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

<img src="</div><a href="http://i.imgur.com/pODpAMk.jpg" rel="external nofollow"></a><div style="margin-left:25px;"><a href="http://i.imgur.com/pODpAMk.jpg" rel="external nofollow">http://i.imgur.com/pODpAMk.jpg"</a></div><a href="http://i.imgur.com/pODpAMk.jpg" rel="external nofollow"></a><div style="margin-left:25px;"> title="Ariel Breaks" /></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

The video looks to be shot with a smart phone held out at arms length by a young woman on foot on her way toward the Ranch of San Antonio with a big duffel bag slung over her shoulder. From the interface, it looks like it’s being streamed live on the personal account @arielbreaks. </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“So, friends... can I call you Breakers? Oh, no, that sounds terrible…” she says immediately looking embarrassed at what she just said. “It’s the big day! After years toiling in the indies, Ariel Breaks hits the big league. QAW, here I come!” she laughs, again looking embarrassed at any attempt at self-aggrandizement.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“And it’s all thanks to you! If it wasn’t for you spreading the word, I wouldn’t be standing here today. Hard work, and connecting with you fans, it’s what’s gotten me to this point. Wish me luck!”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

She’s about to say something else when the fast approaching rumble of motorcycle engines drowns out anything she’s trying to say. There’s a large puddle of muddy water right by her which the first two bikes avoid, but the third drives straight through it, splashing down Ariel from top to toe. Seeing the three bikes stop down the road by the arena, Ariel furiously hurries their way, shouting after them.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Hey, asshole! Yeah, you. What the hell do you think you’re doing?” She storms up to them just as Jillian Jarvis, Deborah Young and Charity Sweet gets off their bikes. Jarvis looks at Ariel with a bemused look. “What did you call me?”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“I called you an asshole. It’s my first day in QAW, I dress up for my new job, and you just ruined my clothes with your stupid motorcycle. What are you going to do about that?” Ariel is so angry, she does not seem at all aware the danger she’s in as Jillian Jarvis listens carefully, taking in every word. </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Let me have a look,” Jillian says with a surprisingly conciliatory voice, steps up to Ariel, and drives her knee to Ariel’s head. “What I’m gonna do, punk? This. Is. What. I’m. Gonna. Do,” she says, each word emphasised by a fist to Ariel’s face. “What are YOU gonna do about that?” she snarls and keep beating down on Ariel that goes fetal, and Deborah gleefully joins in while Charity looks on.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

After a while when Ariel thoroughly has been dragged through the mud, Charity puts a hand on Jillian’s shoulder. “Isn’t that enough? Look at her. If there’s a lesson here, I think she has learnt it.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Jillian pauses the beating and turns to Charity with a scowl on her face. “Don’t EVER tell me what to do.” Jillian grabs the by now senseless Ariel by the neck and holds up her face to Charity. “Unless you want to trade places and I’ll wreck your pretty face instead.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Charity gives Ariel a long look before responding. “No… no, I don’t.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

But it does seem like the interruption has made Jillian lose interest in Ariel, because she drops her in a heap on the ground and nods to the Charity and Deborah. “Let’s go.”. </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

<b>Opening Match: Jillian Jarvis vs Ariel Breaks</b></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Fortunately for Ariel, a little time to cool down has changed Jillian’s mindset from wanting to break the rookie to just put her in her place. Ariel gets roughly 30 seconds of offense, then is on the receiving end for the remainder of the match. After hitting her with the Tornado Elbow Smash and getting the three pin, Jarvis spits at the knocked out indie darling with a “welcome to the big leagues, rookie,” before making her exit.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Cut to the general managers office, where Talia Quinzel storms in and berates Hannah for her booking, not happy at all about the fourway tag team title match. When Hannah is a bit curt in her answer, Talia grabs Hannah by the collar, stopping just short of hitting the general manager. Realizing it’s a bad line to cross, Talia somewhat reluctantly backs down, but rather than be scared, Hannah looks angry, and determined to establish her authority, she declares that not only are they going to defend their titles in a fourway match, it will be a ladder match. <b>Main Event: Foxxy LaRue & Capitano vs Top Dogs /w Dharma Gregg vs Paige Croft & Thea Davis vs The Untouchables © 4-way Ladder match for the Tag Team titles</b></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Thirsting for a good match with a real finish, the fans are out of their seats from the first minute. Talia and Claire quickly roll out of the ring, happy to leave the others to fight it out in the ring, hoping to see Killer Kass run roughshod over her opponents, and they get their wish. </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Spectre doesn’t seem to care about the belts hanging from the rafters, or ladders, except as a device to torment Capitano, finding new innovative ways to cause joint pain in the former Bad Girls leader. She’s ultimately knocked out of commission by Foxxy, coming to Capitano’s rescue with a spear from Hell, leaving Spectre convulsing in pain before rolling out of the ring wanting nothing more to do with Capitano’s teammate.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Ladders get raised and knocked over, at one point with Thea balancing near the top of one, and as it topples she takes the bump of the match, splashing to the outside of the ring knocking out both Talia, Claire and Killer Kass in one sweep.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Suddenly the ring is empty except Foxxy and Paige who go toe to toe in a matchup that under the circumstances favor the bigger, tougher Foxxy, but Paige has many tricks in her toolbox, and manages to get Foxxy in just the right position for Thea to grab her feet and drag Foxxy out of the ring, leaving Paige all alone in the ring. She starts climbing the ladder, but Capitano rolls into the ring, coming after Paige, and from a couple steps up the ladder powerbombs Paige to the mat. </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Alone on the ladder, Capitano climbs to the top of the ladder. Looks up. Looks down. Look at the fans, and does the only thing she can do at the top of a ladder - jumps off it, delivering a senton bomb to Paige before she starts climbing the ladder again, in considerably more pain now. Talia slides into the ring, but so does Foxxy, and before Talia gets her hands on the ladder, Foxxy pele kicks her, slamming into the ladder, rattling it, but not stopping Capitano from reaching the top rung. At the same time Spectre rolls into the ring, still recovering from the spear she took from Foxxy, but determined to stop Capitano, but she is too late, only reaching Capitano’s feet when Capitano turns around, belts in hand. Seeing Spectre just below her, she gives her nemesis a good kick, knocking her off the ladder. We have new tag team champions!</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

<b>Capitano wins by retrieving the belts in 19:38</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

<i>BB: I’ll go out on a limb and call this one of the best matches of the year in QAW. There certainly aren’t many that will top it. Paige, Foxxy and Talia brought outstanding performances. Putting a cap on a show that overall gets a good grade. </i></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Finally, the Untouchables have good reason to retain and I think Talia's "I got both titles" gimmick still has mileage in it, so I'll pick them over Foxxy&Capitano, whose loss could also fuel their feud.</div></div></blockquote><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> I didn’t say it explicitly, but as a 4-way match, I assume that the rules by default are no DQ, so I didn’t even think about that ending, but I did think about if Talia and Claire should find some underhanded way to exploit the rules. <p>Great show as always. It feels like you're hitting your stride with this new format, and hopefully it making keeping this schedule more manageable.</p><p> </p><p>

Ah, of course it was Ariel Breaks. I swear I always forget how young she is given her skill level. It sounds like she got a good destiny roll in your game too if she's on your next big thing list, so she should be one that sticks with your roster.</p><p> </p><p>

Also, Melody took both Talia and Claire under her wing? Now I am jealous. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

Opening Match: Águila Azul Celeste vs <strong>Spectre</strong></p><p>

<em>The submission will come quick and full of pain, Blue Sky Eagle. As you said, you have a crowded roster now, so unless someone blows you away with their performances, it is hard to justify moving them up the card.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Match 2: Ariel Breaks vs <strong>Maribel Mercado</strong></p><p>

<em>Yeah, that welcome for Ariel was more muddy than warm. </em><img alt=";)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/wink.png.686f06e511ee1fbf6bdc7d82f6831e53.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><em> I do like that render for her, but she probably as a little more building up you need to do, so Maribel gets the win.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Match 3: <strong>Juana Huracán & Pamela Rojo</strong> vs Anderson & Snyder</p><p>

<em>I was going to say Anderson & Snyder at first, but if Huracán is getting the Shockwave title shot as I guess in the bonus questions, then she probably needs this win more.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Match 4: <strong>Teresa Perez & The Birds of Prey</strong> vs Purple Viper, Hellcat Hernandez & Jaguar Queen</p><p>

<em>Birds of a Feather? Birds of Prey featuring Red Feather? Hawkgirls? Anyway, they win, because Jaguar Queen. </em><img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

Match 5: <strong>Capitano & Foxxy Larue ©</strong> vs The Untouchables Tag Team title match</p><p>

<em>Would be a lot to switch the titles back to Talia and Claire right away, though I don't think it's something you'd shy away from if it would work storyline-wise. That said, Talia has a bigger program going on, while Capitano and Foxxy can feud with another tag team to fill out your card.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Main Event: <strong>Paige Croft</strong> vs Jillian Jarvis</p><p>

<em>The nice thing about weekly shows is you get to have matches like this that aren't necessarily 'in feud.' Jarvis has to be the favorite here given how much of a bad ass she has been lately, but I think Paige gets her win back, for no other reason than heart over head. </em><img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

Bonus Questions:</p><p> </p><p>

Which is the match of the night? Tag matches are QAW's bread and butter, so have to think it will be the <strong>tag title match</strong>.</p><p>

Cherry Bomb demands to defend her Shockwave title against a specific person at Scars and Stripes. Who? Now this IS interesting. I have to think it will be <strong>Juana Huracán</strong>, though my first instict was Capitano for a big match.</p>

The Wrestling Gazetteer Extra

<hr>

<img src="
alt="Billy Barton" />

A lot of small news stories trickling out of QAW headquarters these days, some more substantiated than others. Let's dig into them. /Billy Barton

<img src="
/>

Scars and Stripes turn annual

The upcoming Scars and Stripes is announced to be the last time the show is held monthly. From 2019 and onward, Scars and Stripes will be QAW’s annual November show, being replaced by annual shows the months QAW doesn’t already have a bigger event. In December, that will be Naughty or Nice. Events for 2019 will be announced at a future date.

<img src="
title="Sam Keith" />

Legend joins QAW?

Wrestling legend Sam Keith has been spotted backstage at the Ranch of San Antonio, seemingly in deep discussions with head booker Sarah Wilkes. It does seem more than just a social visit, and we speculate that as the main event scene is reaching new heights, QAW wants the very best to guide their stars.

<img src="
alt="Melody" /> <img src="
alt="Brooke Tyler" />

Trade deal concluding

At the same time, negotiations to bring in Melody on loan from NOTBPW are concluding. In return the deal has Brooke Tyler going on loan to Canada. It seems the Canadian star is missed back home. However, since NOTBPW and QAW doesn’t put on shows the same nights, there is hope that neither worker will miss any dates for their home promotion. It is not known how many shows the contract covers, but it is said to be spanning a six month period.

<img src="
title="Ariel Breaks" /> <img src="
title="Lucy Trigg" /> <img src="
title="Bessie Psycho" />

Stocking up on talent

Not satisfied with bringing in established stars, QAW is looking to the future and have signed three young talents. Beside Ariel Breaks who made her debut this week at Army of One, two virtual unknowns, Bessie Psycho and Lucy Trigg has been signed. Bessie has just a few matches under her belt on the indie scene, while Lucy is set to make her wrestling debut in QAW.

<img src="
title="Fuyuko Higa" /> <img src="
title="Shiori Jippensha" />

Fuyuko Higa has a new tag partner

There has been a title change in 5SSW where Fuyuko Higa and Shiori Jippensha has formed a formidable tag team, claiming the straps over The ANTI (Megumi Nakajima and DEVIL Karube) who had held the belts for over a year, defending their titles eight times before succumbing to the new power duo. What is remarkable is that it was the first time the two paired up. Question remain what Fuyuko's long time partner Gemmei Oonishi has to say about the matter.

<p>Opening Match: Águila Azul Celeste vs <strong>Spectre</strong></p><p>

<em>The thing about wrestling is that someone has to be the carpenter. The person who can build up other people. Not everyone can be in the main event, no matter how talented your roster is. In the end, if you can't be a top-tier star, be a reliable worker who can make other people look great, because you'll have a job for a very long time if you can do that.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Match 2: Ariel Breaks vs <strong>Maribel Mercado</strong></p><p>

<em>Ariel Breaks is the next big thing. She's not the big thing right now. So long as she looks competitive, she's got plenty of time to rise up the card. Mercado needs the win now more than Breaks.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Match 3: <strong>Juana Huracán & Pamela Rojo</strong> vs Anderson & Snyder</p><p>

<em>As some people must be carpenters, other people must be gatekeepers. Anderson & Snyder are good but not great. Matches like this, to put over other people, are a major part of the utility of having people like Anderson and Snyder around.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Match 4: <strong>Teresa Perez & The Birds of Prey</strong> vs Purple Viper, Hellcat Hernandez & Jaguar Queen</p><p>

<em>You tease us with Jaguar Queen eventually picking up a win. I don't think this is the day when that happens.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Match 5: <strong>Capitano & Foxxy Larue ©</strong> vs The Untouchables Tag Team title match</p><p>

<em>I don't see you hot-shotting a title change on a weekly show. A win in a one-on-one environment would legitimize Cappy and Foxxy as champions.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Main Event: <strong>Paige Croft</strong> vs Jillian Jarvis</p><p>

<em>Jarvis is a bully of the highest order. Paige is close enough to Jarvis that a flash pinfall/distraction based victory seems entirely possible. Time to rebalance the scales of karma, I think.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Bonus Questions:</p><p>

Which is the match of the night?</p><p>

<em>That </em><em><strong>tag match</strong></em><em> should be top-notch.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Cherry Bomb demands to defend her Shockwave title against a specific person at Scars and Stripes. Who?</p><p>

<em>Cherry Bomb is kind of a crappy human being, so I think she asks for </em><em><strong>Ariel Breaks</strong></em><em> as her opponent, thinking that it'll be a cakewalk. Which would give Breaks an opportunity to look good against a superior opponent when she gives Cherry far more trouble than expected.</em></p>

It’s Monday week 4 of November and it’s the going home show before Scars and Stripes with 9,045 people in attendance. Don’t expect anything special? Let me tell you a spoiler. I’ve been following QAW from the start, and while this show lacked the outrageous (like that bump Higa took at Crowning the Queen), I’m putting this show right at the top of my list. Anderson & Snyder take full advantage of Huracán and Rojo showing sportsmanship, using every trick in book to stop any kind of momentum Rojo and Huracán manages to build. In addition, Juana and Pamela aren’t always on the same page. Despite that, Rojo and Huracán show grit,heart and class, and when Ava Anderson accidentally hits Lily Snyder, her partner is nowhere to help her out when Juana puts her in the Time-Square Lock for the submission. Afterwards it’s two exhausted Jaguar Clan members that barely have enough in the tank to celebrate their win.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Pamela doesn’t dispute what Juana says, but is still testy about having it brought up. In the end they go their different ways, without a clear resolution, just a sense that things aren’t working as well as they should between them. </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

The Jaguar Clan surprises most people by hanging in there with the extended Birds of Prey for quite a while, much on the back of Purple Viper. Hannah Potter is in the general managers office when Cherry Bomb storms in. Hannah looks concerned that another of her stars is going to start tear down her office the way Talia did last week, but Cherry has something else on her mind. She complains about how a smug Juana Huracán think she’s somehow superior to her because Cherry “stretched the rules” a bit to win their match, how infuriating it is that a loser is walking around looking down on her, a true champion. So Cherry demands a rematch to defend her title and show once and for all that she is number one. Hannah doesn’t seem to get it, but shrugs and agrees to give Juana another shot at the Shockwave title at Scars and Stripes.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

<b>Match 5: Guardians (Capitano & Larue) © vs The Untouchables (Quinzel & Winters) Tag Team title match</b></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

An exceptional match starting out slow, Capitano and Foxxy, not typical babyface tag team wrestlers, showing they know every trick in the book and only too happy to subvert any attempts the Untouchables show of underhanded tactics to their own advantage. Still, the physical advantage Talia and Claire has on Foxxy and Capitano keep being a factor, often putting the champions on their heels, having to do everything they can just to avoid being overpowered. There are a lot of interactions between Capitano and Claire suggesting a possible future feud, and likewise Talia and Foxxy clashes in ways that suggest Foxxy might be a future challenger for the World champion.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

In the end it is Claire that gets isolated in enemy territory, speared into the Guardians turnbuckle by Foxxy, Capitano is tagged in and hits a 450 splash for the pin while Foxxy blocks Talia from breaking the pin attempt. Erin Lawrence counts to three, and Foxxy and Capitano retains.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">
