/></p><p> </p><p> We would usually open a post Pay Per View episode of Raw with a quick recap of the happenings from the previous evenings action (in a cheap attempt to shill the encore presentation).....but tonight there is no time for that, as we open to utter chaos.....Stone Cold Steve Austin (bandaged head and all) is currently in the midst of raising all kinds of hell with the Hitman, Bret Hart, as the two men go at it at ringside, using every available surface and object as a weapon......while the British Bulldog (fresh off his defeat last night and subsequent dismantling of his tag partner Jim Neidhart) is currently involved in an all out brawl inside the ring with the King of Harts, Owen Hart.......there are a number of backstage personnel and security guards on hand attempting to separate these four men......but while the do manage to keep the Bulldog and Owen apart, Steve Austin and The Hitman seem intent on killing each other........and anyone that tries to get between them.......because several security guards get taken out with a steel chair by Austin, while Hart takes out at least three backstage workers (including a young Shane McMahon for the eagle eyed viewer) with the ring bell.......and as the workers inside the ring leave Davey and Owen to attempt to help the overwhelmed workers on the floor, that leaves the Bulldog and the younger Hart free to resume their battle.......as I say.....utter chaos................</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <img alt="LIoPOQU.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/LIoPOQU.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> ...........which is when an irate looking Vince McMahon makes his way out from the back.........and while he doesn't have Kane with him, he's not alone.......he has a troop of Auburn Hills finest police officers with him.....who storm down to ringside as McMahon pulls out a microphone, screaming for them to.....</p><p> </p><p> <em>"...........ARREST THEM!!!.......ARREST THEM ALL.......I'M SICK OF THIS GODDAMN IT........GET THEM OUT OF MY GODDAMN ARENA RIGHT NOW........"</em></p><p> </p><p> .......which is exactly what these fine officers of the law do........and while both the Hart Foundation and The British Bulldog have the common sense to go quietly, Austin is anything but compliant....and it takes about five to finally cuff the p!ssed off Texan and escort him from the arena.......</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <img style="max-width:50%;</p><p> "src="<a href="https://i.imgur.com/kONkRp3.gif" rel="external nofollow">https://i.imgur.com/kONkRp3.gif"></a></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> .......not that being handcuffed stops him from flipping the boss off as he and his convoy of cops pass him in the aisleway......doesn't stop him from hurling insults at the Hart Brothers either as all four men are taken away (presumably to spend a night in the cells) and Vince McMahon finally has a little bit of order around here, not that his mood has improved any.......he tells the monkeys in the back to roll the damn credits and get this show under way.....because he has something to say.....and he suggests that everyone in the back pays very close attention.....</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Rating:</strong> A*</p><p> </p><p> </p><p></p></div><div style="text-align:center;"></div><div></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> .....and when we come back, McMahon has been joined in the ring by his personal problem solver, Kane.....he's still clearly not happy, saying that it's time to address a few issues around here......the main one being that the roster right now is obviously under the impression that they have free reign to do, say and act however they see fit.......</p><p> </p><p> <em>"......well let me assure you all right now.....that you do not.......this is NOT the people's republic of Wrestling.....this isn't a democracy......this is the World Wrestling Federation.....and it's MINE......"</em></p><p> </p><p> ....Vince says that maybe he should accept some of the blame for recent behaviours around here.....he's been too soft.....to giving......being the humble and giving nature of his personality, he's allowed the talent to get to comfortable.....too complacent.....</p><p> </p><p> <em>"......and what do we have?.....we have people getting thrown off stages in dumpsters......we have ungrateful Champions that hold three fifths of the Titles around here, and yet still accuse ME of oppression......we have people interfering in matches left and right.....attacks.....brawls.....blood.....chaos......cursing......all things that I'm sure you people do NOT want to see......."</em></p><p> </p><p> ......the crowd boo's that......obviously they are perfectly happy with what's been presented to them recently.....not that Vince listens.....he's too interested in his own tirade......telling them that rest assured, it's all going to stop....NOW..............well.........at Summerslam actually.......because at Summerslam, the whole landscape of the WWF is going to change......</p><p> </p><p> ......he says that first and foremost........since Steve Austin and Bret Hart seem intent on killing each other, they can kill each other at Summerslam.......when they face each other one on one.....in a no holds barred match......second of all, since we seem to be unable to crown number one contenders for the WWF Tag Team Titles.....and since the Champions seem to think they are untouchable after practically murdering Jeff Hardy on live PPV last night......we are going to have a Fatal Four Way match at Summerslam......with the New Age Outlaws putting the gold on the line against three other teams.......all of whom will have to qualify for entry into that match.......and the qualifiers are open to ANY team here in the WWF......but they should all think very carefully before entering......because SHOULD the go on to compete in the fatal four way match, they should know one thing........while the WINNER of that match shall indeed be the WWF Tag Team Champions.......the LOSER of that match......whichever one man takes the pinfall.......well, their contract with the World Wrestling Federation.....and their team mates contract with the World Wrestling Federation.........shall be instantly terminated........</p><p> </p><p> <em>"......in other words.....if you or your partner get beat......you're both......FIRED......."</em></p><p> </p><p> .....that's revelation number one.....revelation number two, involves the Nation of Domination.....who continue to run their mouth about their glorious leader Mr. Vincent Kennedy McMahon......and while they may have adhered to his stipulations last night, they STILL couldn't help but run their mouth after the bell..........so while Faarooq put both his title AND his career on the line last night.......at Summerslam, it's The Rock and Scorpio's turn.......as BOTH men will be putting their titles on the line in fatal four way matches......and much like with the tag team titles, you win......you're the Champion......you lose......if you're the man who takes the pinfall or submission........YOU'RE FIRED!!!.....</p><p> </p><p> ......as for everybody else....there was so much interference and people causing havoc last night, that it caused Vince a real headache.....a real.....problem.....if you will.......but Vince has a way to deal with his problems.......and tonight......SOMEONE is going to be visited by the Big Red Monster for sticking their nose in business that doesn't concern them.....Vince hasn't decided WHO just yet......but rest assured, someone will be sent straight to hell......by the problem solver, Kane......</p><p> </p><p> ......now with all the unpleasantness dealt with, it's time to create a more professional atmosphere around here.....which is why tonight....to close out the show.....we are going to have a very civil....very professional.....contract signing......as Scott Steiner and Ahmed Johnson put pen to paper, and make their WWF Title match for Summerslam official......</p><p> </p><p> <em>"......and rest assured Gentlemen.....it WILL be a professional and civil affair......or we are going to have a VERY big problem......"</em></p><p> </p><p> .....but enough talking.....it's time to get down to action.....as Vince invites the first two teams wishing to compete for the opportunity to enter into that fatal for way tag team match at Summerslam to make their way out.....it's time to nut up, put up.....or shut up.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Rating:</strong> A*</p><p> </p><p> began.....with the two teams that were originally competing when all this tag team turmoil began, because it's the combinations of Al Snow and Chris Candido along with Goldust and Marcus who decide that risking their careers is a small price to pay for the opportunity to become the Champions of the WWF's Tag Team division.......</p><p> </p><p> .......Jim Ross remarks that this is a particularly big step forward for Snow and Candido....because Candido has always been somewhat of a reluctant partner in this team......for him to be willing to risk his WWF career in order to become one half of the Tag Champions alongside Snow shows how far these two men have come.....</p><p> </p><p> .....and while Goldust and Marcus certainly put their all into this one, you've got to think that the Bizarre One has aspirations of singles gold....which is probably why the more established team of Candido and Snow were able to pick up the victory, after Al nailed Marcus with the Snow Plough.</p><p> </p><p> the Dogs of War and Christopher Daniels have entered themselves into the qualifying matches for the WWF Tag and Light Heavyweight fatal four way title matches at Summerslam......potentially risking their very careers in the process.....</p><p> </p><p> <em>"......after everything I have done for you, this is how you repay me......after plucking you all from the brink of obscurity, you would abandon me without so much as a second thought?....me?.....ME?........me who has laid my very body on the line for you......me, who has sacrificed everything.....who has taken your pain as my own, to carry the burden of your darkness......you would abandon all of that for such material things as titles?........never mind titles, what about me?.......WHAT ABOUT RAVEN?........"</em></p><p> </p><p> ......Raven says that tonight he is due to go one on one with the seven foot Psycho Sid......a Psycho Sid who truly believes he is capable of playing mind games with the master.....a Psycho Sid who put these ideas of grandeur in the Flocks heads to begin with......on a night when it SHOULD all be about Raven, the Flock are going to try and fly solo?.......what the Flock SHOULD be concerned with, is losing everything they hold dear.....</p><p> </p><p> <em>"........because sometimes......just sometimes.....the world doesn't need another hero......sometimes what it needs a monster......and make no mistake, I've been your dark crusader........I've BEEN your monster.......don't give me reason to BE your monster........Quote the Raven......Nevermore........"</em></p><p> </p><p> ......with that Raven turns and storms angrily out of the room like a petulant child who doesn't get what he wants, leaving the Flock standing there slightly lost.......DeMott asks the Dogs and Daniels what the hell they were thinking? After everything Raven has done for them, how could they do this? It's Crush that answers that.....telling DeMott that maybe Sid was right.....because the way they see it right now, Raven has done nothing but use them to his own ends....and he doesn't know about anyone else, but the Dogs of War think they would look pretty good with some gold around their waist.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Rating:</strong> B+</p><p> </p><p> Corporation member, Rich Steiner......DiBiase is probably wishing that he had never tried to employ the service of young Bradshaw back on a recent edition of Raw.......that resulted in Bradshaw taking out Mark Canterbury.......teaming up with Ken Shamrock to defeat Southern Justice......and just last night introducing Jeff Jarrett to his own guitar, preventing him from influencing the outcome of the Shamrock/Steiner match......</p><p> </p><p> ......tonight Steiner will be looking for revenge for that attack......he'll also be keen to cement a win over one of the up and coming superstars of the WWF, a move that could potentially kickstart his current stagnant run.....and not stagnant because his win loss ratio is awful.....Steiner still wins more than he loses......he just doesn't do anything with those victories.....so you've got to believe that a win here puts him one step closer to recapturing the momentum that won him the Intercontinental Championship less than a year ago.....</p><p> </p><p> .....this was actually a surprisingly solid match.....and these two weren't shy about laying the shots in hard and stiff......which is fortunate since that's the only way these way out from the back......Mr. McMahon promised that Kane would be visiting SOMEONE tonight.....it appears as though Bradshaw's backstage assault on Double J has made him the chosen target.......DiBiase has obviously figured this out too.....because he takes it upon himself to distract the official.....while Kane delivers a brutal Chokeslam right on the arena floor......Steiner rolls back into the ring......and as the referee returns his attention to the match, Bradshaw has no chance of re-entering the ring before the ten count.....and this one is over.</p><p> </p><p> dominated Bradshaw into defeat.....and he drops to the outside to toss his half conscious opponent back into the ring, where it looks like he's going to dish out a little post match beating......at least until Kane steps his big seven foot frame over the top rope and into the ring, positioning himself between Bradshaw and Steiner, almost daring the Million Dollar Sell-Out to make a move.....Steiner may be a lot of things, but he's not stupid.....holding his hands up in surrender and making a hasty retreat with his manager......</p><p> </p><p> ......that leaves Kane all alone.....and he's had little to do around here just recently, which quite frankly, for a man like Kane, is somewhat boring.....so now that McMahon has let him off the leash to have a little fun, he's going to enjoy it......he drags Bradshaw back to his feet and whips him hard into the corner, where he delivers a series of open handed threat thrusts that only further to incapacitate an already punished Bradshaw......before pulling him over to the middle of the ring, hoisting him upside down.....and spiking his head into the mat with a brutal Tombstone Piledriver......</p><p> </p><p> .......Kane stands over his victim, head cocked to one side like the B-Movie monsters of old.....before raising his arms high in the air......snapping them back down to his sides as the hellfire Qualifier</strong></p><p> </p><p> It's time to see which other teams have put their names in the hat for the Summerslam WWF Tag Team Championship (Fatal Four Way) Match......and while we know (thanks to Ravens less that pleased reaction earlier) that the Dogs of War have already thrown their hats in the proverbial ring, we soon discover that Harlem Heat have also decided that the WWF Tag Team Titles are worth risking their careers over, as they make their way to face the Flock pair......</p><p> </p><p> .....speaking of the Flock, they're surprisingly absent at ringside for this one.....probably due to Raven's displeasure at this match even happening.....not that the Dogs of War really need any help.....they are two huge men, and you could argue that really, it's Raven that needs them and not the other way round......not that their opponents here are about to be overpowered.....Wrath and Crush are big guys, but then so are Booker T and Stevie Ray.....and Harlem Heat have something to prove around here after their brief feud with the Nation of Domination was cut short by the injury to Nelson.....</p><p> </p><p> ......if our last match was a singles brawl, then this was most definitely a tag team brawl....and again, a good one.......these two teams beat the living hell out of each other, with both pairings getting an equal share of the offence. To their credit, this is the best that the Dogs of War have looked since their arrival here in the WWF, clearly fired up at the prospect of proving their master wrong.......</p><p> </p><p> ........speaking of their master.....he makes an appearance about ten minutes into this one.....walking down the aisle with Bill DeMott and (a rather reluctant looking) Christopher Daniels following behind........and while stranding at ringside is literally all he does, it completely throws the Dogs of War game plan out of the window, leading to Booker T putting Wrath away with a Missile Dropkick from the top. </p><p> </p><p> <strong>Winner(s):</strong> Harlem Heat</p><p> <strong>Rating:</strong> B</p><p> </p><p> </p><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" to wait for now.....because it's Christopher Daniels time to find out who he will be facing in HIS light heavyweight title qualifying match......and as the titantron flickers to life, we see that it's Dean Malenko who has taken up the challenge, as the Man of 1000 Holds makes his way through the backstage area on his way to the ring.....</p><p> </p><p> .....he suddenly comes to an abrupt halt pace a little now following those two brawl based matches, as the Light Heavyweights have their chance to shine.....Dean Malenko is clearly keen to get straight back into the title picture after coming up short in his efforts to bring home the Championship last night, due in no small part to the interference of Test (presumably at the behest of Chris Jericho).....</p><p> </p><p> .....Daniels on the other hand just wants another opportunity to take back the Championship that he held up until Wrestlemania......in fact, Christopher Daniels is the only member of the Flock (Raven included) to have held ANY gold here in the WWF.....although as Psycho Sid pointed out, that's partly due to the fact that he's simply too good to be held back, even by Raven......</p><p> </p><p> ........speaking of the Flock, they've stuck around for this one......although it's not a stretch to say that the Dogs of War look like they would rather be anywhere else about now.....this was another good match, with Daniels taking to the air to try and pick up an advantage on his more technically minded opponent.....in the end however it was the Flock that played a part in the finish.....although probably not in the way Daniels envisioned......</p><p> </p><p> .......because as Wrath caused the distraction, Crush jumped up onto the aisle ready to deliver a huge blow to Malenko.....Raven wasn't pleased about that however.....ordering Cush to get down from ringside, telling him that the Flock will pay NO part in handing Daniels's a win here.....Crush ignores him however.....stating that while THEY might not be getting a title shot, it doesn't mean that Daniels shouldn't have HIS opportunity......Raven disagrees, and the two have a long enough argument about it, that Malenko is able to send because for once the master of mind games has been out matched by of all people, a Psycho Sid who is apparently seeing things more clearly now than ever before in his career, thanks in part to the advice and guidance of a mystery advisor.....a mystery advisor who apparently knows Raven very well.....well enough it seems, to certainly throw the leader of the Flock completely off his game....which is no doubt why Sid was able to completely control the opening portions of his contest, in what was once again (in the story of the night) a decent match......</p><p> </p><p> ......Raven eventually did get back into this one, around the same time as Bill DeMott regained his bearings enough to re-join his master at ringside.....often managing to interfere during the times that Raven distracted the official.....and between the two of them they were finally able to weaken the big seven footer enough that Raven was able to firmly regain the control of the match......so much so that as the match went on, Raven's confidence grew....until he was finally goading Sid and his "so called mind games" as nothing more than the cheap parlour tricks and insane ramblings of a mad man......</p><p> </p><p> ......which is when some familiar music, not heard in a long time begins to arrival......Jake makes it down to ringside, where he drops DeMott with a short arm clothesline......before driving him into the floor with the DDT......Sid was clearly expecting this......is this the "mentor" of Ravens that he was talking about? The commentators certainly seem to think so, and Raven himself frankly can't believe what he's seeing.......simply asking Jake "why?......why?" over and over again......thankfully he doesn't have to It was just last night that Ahmed Johnson left him battered and laying in a puddle of his own blood......and all that......that was just for fun......tell me Mr. Steiner......what do you think Big Bad Ahmed Johnson is going to do to YOU, in order to finally prove he’s the man around here when he’s crowned the brand new WWF Champion?......”</em></p><p> </p><p> ......Steiner smirks at that for a moment, before looking both Ahmed and Cornette up and down, removing his sunglasses and headgear, tossing them on the table in front of him and picks up a microphone......</p><p> </p><p> <em>”........BIG BAD AHMED JOHNSON?.....LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING BOY’S.....THERE’S ONLY ONE BIG, BAD JOHNSON IN THE WORLD WRESTLING FEDERATION.....AND THATS THE BIG, BAD JOHNSON IN MY PANTS.......YOU CAN TALK ALL THE TALK ABOUT AHMED JOHNSON BEEING THE BADDEST SUMMBITCH ON THE PLANET, BUT UNTIL HE’S STEPPED IN THE RING WITH THE BIG BAD BOOTY DADDY HE’S JUST A SCOTT STEINER WANNABE WITH A BIG MOUTH.......IN FACT, HE DON’T EVEN HAVE THAT GOING FOR HIM, BECAUSE HE HAS TO HAVE A SCRAWNY LITTLE B@STARD LIKE YOU DOING ALL HIS TALKING FOR HIM......BUT THATS OK, BECAUSE I’M NOT MUCH FOR TALKING......I’D RATHER BE FIGHTING......AND AT SUMMERSLAM, I’M GONNA MAKE BIG BAD AHMED JOHNSON, MY BIG BAD B!TCH.......”</em></p><p> </p><p> ......Ahmed is straight to his feet after that comment, throwing his chair to one side as the security guards on the outside storm in to the ring to keep the two men separated.....Steiner doesn’t care, telling Ahmed to try his luck, because he’ll drop him so quick he won’t even have time to pull his tights out of his ass crack......Cornette again has to calm his man down.....telling him to sign the contract before he does anything else......make the match official and they can get out of here.......</p><p> </p><p> .......reluctantly Ahmed does exactly that, signing his name on the dotted line before tossing the contract and the pen at Steiner......Cornette apologises to Scotty that they don’t have a crayon he can use, but if he can just scrawl his X on the dotted line then that would be great.......</p><p> </p><p> .......Steiner tells Cornette that he’ll carve an X in his damn face if he doesn’t shut his mouth, before also signing the contract and handing it to Jerry Lawler, who looks keen to wrap this all up before it gets out of hand.....thanking the two men for their time, before telling them that they are free to leave......before Steiner can stand however, Ahmed snatched the WWF Title up off the table and drapes it over his shoulder.....telling Steiner that he may as well just hand this over now, because at Summerslam.......</p><p> </p><p> <em>”.....YOU’RE GOING DOWN!!.....”</em></p><p> </p><p> ......obviously that doesn’t sit to well with Steiner, who upends the table separating them and dives at Ahmed, unloading with right hand after right hand, while Ahmed reply's with each shot from Steiner with one of his own.......security do their best to get the two behemoths away from each other, but they get decked one by one as Champion and Challenger attempt to tear each other apart.......finally Steiner and Ahmed are overwhelmed by a seemingly endless number of security guards.....who force each man back into opposing corners, which is how the show finally ends......Steiner on one side, Ahmed on the other......screaming threats and insults at each other as the hapless security does their best to keep them separated.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Rating:</strong> A*</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Final Rating:</strong> A*</p><p> </p><p> </p><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p></div><p></p>

/></p><p> </p><p> The show opens this week with a quick recap of the events that closed LAST weeks show......with Sting finally coming to the aid of the Warrior, after weeks of persuasion, as the two as the two face painted superstars fought off the Titans of Wrestling.....much to Hollywood Hogans chagrin.......</p><p> </p><p> ......and as Tony Schiavone, Eric Bischoff and Mike Tenay welcome us to the show, those same two gentlemen make their way to the ring.......Sting is here......the Warrior is here.....and it looks as though they have something to say......or at least the Warrior does, Sting seems happy enough to brood silently behind him as he announces that......</p><p> </p><p> <em>”......last week the balance of power shifted....the dark clouds of tyranny parted and the black shadow of the Titans of Wrestling faded away to the returning power of professional wrestling.......the stars and moons aligned as the world bore witness to an alliance of the immortals......and that was only the beginning, as the Warriors and the Stingers unite one more time to fight the fight of the celestial beings.......Hollywood Hogan......Macho Man Randy Savage.....you think yourself the Mega Powers of Wrestling......but the true power lies here.....in my hand......and in Stings hand.......and at Road Wild.......you will both be in OUR hands.......”</em> </p><p> </p><p> ......Sting works as translator here, saying that what Warrior is saying, is that at Road Wild, he and the Warrior want a match with Hogan and Savage.....but he’s sure to tell a (very hyperactive) Warrior, to not think for one second that he’s going to let his guard down......he’ll team with his former partner if it means getting one step closer to Hogan and the WCW Title, but if the Warrior even LOOKS like he’s going to stab the Stinger in the back, he won’t hesitate to put the man from parts unknown down........</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <img Titans, with Russo and Hogan openly laughing at the challenge......Russo says that Sting and the Warrior aren’t even a cohesive unit NOW, do they really think they have a chance against the two biggest names in professional wrestling history, Hollywood Hogan and Randy Savage?.......</p><p> </p><p> <em>”......I’ll tell you what bro.....how about we give you a little tune up match said the complete polar opposite, stating that he can’t think of anything better than to nuzzle at the teat of Hollywood.....ok, he didn’t say that exactly.....but he certainly didn’t sound opposed to working under the wing of the Titans.......</p><p> </p><p> .....considering the huge main event we have set for later in the evening, this match right here was actually the match of the night.....although I suppose that shouldn’t come as too much of a shock when you have a mat mechanic like Chris Benoit in there......Bagwell isn’t the best worker in the world, but he has charisma bursting out of his biceps, which isn’t a bad thing.....although it didn’t look like all the charisma in the world was going to save him here......especially when Benoit had him furiously submitting opponent......before grabbing Ray Traylor and heading back up the aisle, telling a nearby camera that Buff is clearly a smart man......because it’s better to work WITH the Titans rather than work down.....and being the asshat that he is, he decides that he’s going to kick the man while he’s down.....stomping the crap out of the Crippler, before heading up to the second rope, waiting for Benoit that Mike Awesome is the BEST big man in professional wrestling today......she pauses for a moment to run her hand over Awesome's chest, before saying that her client isn’t slow and lumbering like the Giant......he’s not overweight and past it like Vader.......he’s ALL man.......and if there’s one thing Missy knows, it’s a real man when she sees it......and one by one all the so called giants of bats, it seems he came prepared.......he slides back into the ring and starts nailing the Titans with shots.......Knobbs, Saggs, Traylor......Savage takes another shot to the ribs.......and as the Warrior pulls himself to his feet, Sting tosses a bat to him.....and the Titans bail immediately......mainly because the Warrior is running around the ring like a lunatic swinging a baseball bat wildly over his head.......</p><p> </p><p> .......Schiavone is going crazy......telling us that Warrior saved Sting.....Sting saved Warrior......at at Road Wild we will see four of the biggest names in ALL of professional wrestling go at it, in what could very well prove to be the most important night in the history of our sport......</p><p> </p><p> ......and as the Titans retreat, The Warrior is <p>Another great show for us.....and a surprisingly decent effort from WCW.....although our ring work is head and tails above theirs, they have to rely on angles to put on a good show, we’re the best of both worlds.....that’s what happens when you only have our rejects to work with I guess Vinny.....there’s surprisingly little news either.....that will all be coming in a few weeks at Summerslam, where virtually every match has major ramifications......</p><p> </p><p> .....in a little bit of news from Japan, apparently AJPW are not planning on renewing Jumbo Tsuruta’s contract when it’s up in a few weeks.....I can understand why, he’s 46 now and only semi-active, but he’s still over like rover, you’d think they could find something for him to do.....</p><p> </p><p> <strong>OOC:</strong> It seems like the Bobby Eaton likes what he sees with Mike Awesome’s new running buddy, the guys only been on the roster two weeks and he’s already taken him under his wing as a protege and been passing on tips on psychology and mic work......cheers Bobby, because he needs all the help he can get.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="43289" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p> </p><p> <strong>Preview for WWF Raw is War, Week 1, August 1997</strong> </p><p> </p><p> Scott Steiner & Steve Austin vs. Ahmed Johnson & Bret Hart</p><p> Comments:</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Winner to be entered into Four Way WWF European Title Match at Summerslam</strong></p><p> Ken Shamrock vs. Goldust</p><p> Comments:</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Winner to be entered into Four Way WWF Light Heavyweight Title Match at Summerslam</strong></p><p> Rey Mysterio vs. Chavo Guerrero</p><p> Comments:</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Winner to be entered into Four Way WWF European Title Match at Summerslam</strong></p><p> Jeff Jarrett vs. Barry Windham</p><p> Comments:</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Winner to be entered into Four Way WWF Tag Team Title Match at Summerslam</strong></p><p> The Headbangers vs. Edge & Christian vs. High Voltage vs. The Harris Boys</p><p> Comments:</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Winner to be entered into Four Way WWF European Title Match at Summerslam</strong></p><p> Matt Hardy vs. Kama</p><p> Comments:</p><p> </p><p> </p></div><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="43289" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p> </p><p> <strong>Preview for WCW Nitro, Week 1, August 1997</strong> </p><p> </p><p> Sting vs. Ray Traylor</p><p> Comments:</p><p> </p><p> Diamond Dallas Page vs. Jean Paul Levesque</p><p> Comments:</p><p> </p><p> Vader & Bam Bam Bigelow vs. Mike Awesome & Un-named Partner</p><p> Comments:</p><p> </p><p> Bill Goldberg vs. Alex Wright</p><p> Comments:</p><p> </p><p> The Renegade vs. Konnan</p><p> Comments:</p><p> </p><p> Rick Martel vs. Earl Robert Eaton</p><p> Comments:</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Non-Title Match</strong></p><p> ??? vs. Eddie Guerrero</p><p> Comments:</p><p> </p><p> </p></div><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote>

<p>Just spent the past few work days reading this whole thing, masterful work, really enjoyed what you've done. Keeping some wrestlers to their true to life personas even if a bit early, while taking others in completely new directions is awesome to see.</p><p> </p><p>

Ahmed and Bret - This looks like a great match for the heels to get some super cheap heat. Also, and you can feel free to use this one on the next Raw, Scott Steiner IS gonna go down... on his best freaks!

Goldust - I'll tell you what I'm thinking here. I'm probably going to be 100% wrong and Shammy is gonna break Goldust like a twig, but hear me out: Ken is already IC title caliber. Having some sort of interference or a rage DQ (especially a rage DQ) for Shamrock would pay him huge dividends here, and he can turn his attention to bigger things. Meanwhile, Goldust could totally play Queen of England, so have him win the Euro belt and just have some Attitude Era fun with he and his Squire Marquis.

Rey Mysterio

Jeff Jarrett - I would argue that Jeff is in the same boat as Shamrock, but someone big needs to be in the match so Jeff makes the cut.

E&C

Matt Hardy

On the WCW side all I can say is oh gawd Bobby, WHY?! Of all the proteges to take on, it had to be Horshu?

Sting

DDP - Page looks like he's becoming a guy to watch, so a big shock Diamond Cutter victory here should put him on the map in a hurry.

Awesome Unnamed Partners

Goldberg

Konnan

Rick Martel

??? - Rarely bet against Mr. Squiggly.

Week 1, August 1997

Reunion Arena (Dallas, Texas)

ATT: 15,556

TV: 33.03

HDOWnFw.jpgiXAv5bk.jpgwnBGIqa.jpgmsPbqH3.jpgb965MKg.jpg

We open up the show tonight to a far less chaotic scene than last week......as Shawn Michaels makes his way down the aisle (something that was a regular opening segment at one point) along with the gorgeous Sunny on his arm......the power couple of the WWF aren't coming alone however.....the Corporate Cannon Brian Pillman is stalking his way down the aisle along with them, cackling maniacally as he goes, while The Nature Boy Ric Flair and The Enforcer Arn Anderson round up the bunch.....

......the quintet enter the ring, with Flair taking Sunny by the hand and spinning her around 360 degrees so that the crowd can appreciate how truly stunning she is.....it's an appreciative crowd too.....Shawn Michaels has spent the best part of eighteen months being booed out of every building he's stepped foot in, but he's home in Texas right here.....and it might not be San Antonio, but this Dallas crowd certainly give The Heartbreak Kid (and everyone else by proxy) a warm welcome.....not that it lasts long......Shawn takes a microphone and thanks the crowd for the reception, telling them that it must be great for them to be in the presence of a truly great Texan......instead of being surrounded in mediocrity like they are for the other 364 days of the year.......

".....because lets face it, Texas Born.....Texas Bred......most of you morons look.....AND smell......like you've been Texas Dead for a while now......."

........ah cheap heel heat, you've gotta love it.......Michaels says that luckily for them, The Heartbreak Kid is there to put a little bit of San Antonio shine into their pathetic little lives......

".....and believe me when I say, you ain't getting rid of me anytime soon......unfortunately, the same can't be said for Kevin Nash......because in less than three weeks time, at Summerslam, the Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels is going to put Big Gimpy out of the WWF once and for all......"

......Michaels tells Nash that it's been The Showstopper that has been carrying his big seven foot ass on his back since the day Nash arrived here four years ago.....he plucked him from obscurity and made him a mega star......made him the number two guy in the business (behind the Heartbreak Kid obviously)......and more importantly, made him a hell of a lot of money......but instead of being grateful.....instead of knowing his place.....Nash, and ALL of the Wolfpac got greedy, and stabbed the man that bought them all to the dance in the back.......and at Summerslam, Nash....Hall.....Waltman....they're all going to find out what happens when you cross THE MAN........because Ric Flair and Double A, they're going to take care of the two C-Listers......while Kevin Nash finds himself out of a job......

"......because I've said it before......and I'll say it again......The Heartbreak Kid lays down for NOBODY........"

......Michaels passes the microphone to Double A, who tells Nash that he's as stupid as he is big if he thinks putting his career on the line against Shawn Michaels is a good idea......he says that Shawn can MAKE a career inside this ring, he can BREAK a career inside this ring......and at Summerslam, he's going to END a career inside this ring......which just leaves Hall and Waltman.....two men with no identity of their own......they spent twelve months playing second fiddle to the Heartbreak Kid, and the last six months as background characters in the Kevin Nash show......they're unimportant.....inconsequential......bit part players......and at Summerslam.....Flair and Anderson are going to show the world just how insignificant those two wannabe wolves really are.......something that Ric Flair echoes when he takes the microphone......

"........Scott Hall........Sean Waltman........there's an old saying about being careful of wolves in sheep's clothing.....well you two pissants, you are the complete antithesis of that........you're nothing but two sheep.....in wolves clothes......two followers without an independent thought of your own, PLAYING at being the tough guys while you hide behind your seven foot buddy there......Kevin Nash......Scott Hall.........the only reason EITHER one of you two is even relevant in this great sport, is because Shawn Michaels MADE you relevant......Shawn Michaels took a seven foot lumbering idiot, gave him a black glove and a cheap pair of sunglasses, stood him next to the Heartbreak Kid.....and made him a STAR.......Shawn Michaels took a ladder.......wrapped it around Razor Ramon's head......and he made that greasy haired, fake gold wearing chump a somebody......

.....Flair takes off his jacket and tosses it on the mat, before dragging the camera monkey in close and showing him the diamond encrusted gold Rolex around his wrist.....

"........you see this right here? THIS is gold.....this is the REAL deal, just like the Nature Boy......this is a ten thousand dollar watch, and I've got three of them.....I can spend more on one piece of jewellery, than you people can spend on food for the entire year...........(Flair stops for a minute to point out a fan in the front row)...........well..........not you fat boy.......all the Rolex's in the world aren't going to be enough to feed your fat ass.......Hall, Waltman.......Summerslam is right around the corner.......and it's going to be a bad night for you......and a great night for us........because The Nature Boy........The Enforcer.........we're going to put the lid on the coffin of the Wolfpac.......before the Heartbreak Kid nails it shut..........

........Flair hands the microphone over to Brian Pillman, before treating the (now less than appreciative) crowd to a trademark strut......The Corporate Cannon is unusually reserved here.....choosing to speak directly to Dude Love through the camera......he says this would usually be the part where the protagonist would explain his motives......

"......the only problem with that, is the fact that I'm Brian "F'N" Pillman......and I'm not one for complying and following the rules.......and unlike YOU, I don't need to pander to the wretched refuse in the crowd......I do what I want to do, when I want to do it.......and as far as giving you an explanation goes......right now, I just don't want to.......what I WILL give you however, is a date.......August 24th........Summerslam........if your new found delicate persona has a problem with the Crowned Prince of Chaos slapping the tie dye off his fat ass........well, you can always meet me in the ring and see if you can do something about it........but "Dude Love"........I don't think you can......."

......with that, Pillman tosses the microphone to the mat......and Summerslam is really shaping up, as we appear to have added another match......Brian Pillman against (should he accept) Dude Love.

Winner to be entered into Four Way WWF European Title Match at Summerslam

Last week Mr. McMahon announced a number of matches for Summerslam.....matches with severe consequences, if no competitors......because if you want entry into these Title bouts, you're going to have to earn it.....AND put it all on the line.....because to the winner goes the spoils, while to the loser......goes nothing but a trip to the unemployment line......because one man/team from each match, will be fired.....

.....with that, it's time to see who is going to be the first man entered into the match for the Rock's European Championship.....as Barry Windham goes one on one with the Million Dollar Corporation's Jeff Jarrett.....in what was actually, a very good match.....obviously both of these two are solid if not spectacular when it comes to ring work, and they worked great together here tonight as they treated to fans to a taste of southern grappling....

.....both of these men could do with a programme soon....in fact Jarrett in particular is probably begging out for something to do......after never really finding his niche as of yet in the Million Dollar Corporation, he's somewhat of the forgotten man around here, someone I keep meaning to give a push too but then never seem to get around to it (incidentally, he's quietly gone about his business, getting himself over enough to recently Auto-Push to main event with no real attempt on my behalf......a fact which in itself should really be rewarded with SOME kind of push).......

.......Jarrett is certainly higher than the level I perceived the European Championship to be at as our third tier singles title.....but then realistically, so is current Champion The Rock.....regardless it's Jarrett that advances to the Summerslam bout here, picking up the win with a handful of tights.

Winner: Jeff Jarrett

Rating: B+

From there we go backstage, where Dok Hendrix is with the man who will be defending the European Title against Jeff Jarrett (amongst others) at Summerslam, The Rock......obviously the man is not alone however, because where one Nation member goes, the whole Nation of Domination goes (well, the healthy ones anyway)......

......Dok says it's going to be a big night for the Nation at Summerslam......because not only do they risk losing two Championships, they also risk losing two members......as both The Rock and Scorpio could find themselves fired should they be the participant that has their shoulders pinned to the mat......Faarooq snatches the microphone away from Hendrix, clearly the man isn't in a good mood tonight......

"......first things first Hendrix, who the hell does Vince McMahon think he is? Not content with forcing ME to put my title AND my career on the line two weeks ago at In Your House......a plan which failed by the way, because I'm still here....and I'm still the Intercontinental Champion......not content with THAT, now he's gonna do everything he can to try and screw the Nation out of not ONLY the European and Light Heavyweight Titles, but out of two of its members too......can you really look me in the eye Dok Hendrix, and tell me that "the man" isn't trying to hold the Nation down?......."

.......Dok says that in all fairness, it's not just The Rock and Scorpio who will be putting their careers on the line in that match.....every participant will be......

"........Dok you know as well as I do that every other participant in those matches will be there by CHOICE......if their stupid asses want to put their careers on the line that's down to them......The Rock......Scorpio......they're being FORCED to do so against their will.....because the MAN says so........"

.......Faarooq says that no matter what McMahon throws at them however, it won't stop them......one way or another, The Rock and Scorpio will be walking out victorious at Summerslam......

"........against one man, two or three.....the result will still be the same.....because no matter how high you stack the deck, the Nation of Domination will overcome, I guarantee you that......by ANY means necessary........"

......Faarooq hands the microphone to The Rock, who looks down at the European Championship on his shoulder before raising an eyebrow at Dok Hendrix.......

"........and what do we mean by ANY means necessary Dok Hendrix......what do you think that means?........"

"........well, I.........."

"........IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT YOU THINK.......see the fact of the matter is this, the Rock is going to go out there.....August 24th.....Summerslam.......three opponents.....three jabroni's.....three hot steaming pieces of monkey crap for the Rock take his pick from......or maybe Dok......maybe......just two......because if the Rock is correct.....and he usually is......these qualifying matches are open to anyone right?.....and it just so happens that Kama is dressed and ready to compete......MAYBE, the odds will be a little bit more in the Nation's favour than Vince McMahon was expecting......"

......with that the Rock slaps Kama on his big shoulder, as the four men walk off, presumably in the direction of the ring.

Winner to be entered into Four Way WWF European Title Match at Summerslam

The Nation of Domination clearly believed they had found a little loophole here, as Kama looks to insert himself into the Rock's European Title match at Summerslam.....and if they weren't confident before, they were when Kama's opponent was revealed to be Matt Hardy....a young man predominantly known as a tag team wrestler......a very young tag team wrestler at that.....and after the New Age Outlaws destroyed his brother at In Your House, a very young tag team wrestler without a partner......

......clearly seeing the writing on the wall here, the official does at least attempt to even the odds by ordering the rest of the Nation to return to the back.......but even one on one, picking up a victory against the much bigger Kama is going to be no easy task......highlighted by the fact that Kama brutalises this young man.....overpowers him, and beats the snot out of him.....and in all honestly, had he not been toying with his opponent, could have probably won the match on a number of occasions......finally it seemed like Kama had enough of playing with Matt, grabbing him by the face and telling him that he's going to sharing a hospital room with his brother after this, before positioning him for a brainbuster......

........the mention of his brother appeared to be somewhat of a wake up call to Hardy however, and as Kama lifted him high in the air he wiggled free, landing behind the big man, where he spins him around and drops him with the Twist of Fate, quickly making the cover.....and while Kama DID manage to get his shoulder up, it was a split second after the officials hand struck the canvas for the third time.....and as Kama angrily gets back to his feet, Matt Hardy bolts from the ring and away to safety......victory in the bag along with a shot at the European Championship at Summerslam.

Winner: Matt Hardy

With Kama still seething in the ring we go to commercial, and when we come back it's to the unexpected sight of Bradshaw and Kane going at it in the back........not that seeing a brawl on Raw is War is unexpected......what's unexpected if the sight of someone WILLINGLY getting into a brawl with the Big Red Machine Kane.....a seven foot monster that most people would go out of their way to avoid.....not Bradshaw however, who after a Chokeslam on the outside last week, followed by a Tombstone on the inside, is clearly looking for a little bit of retribution here.......

.......the two men are brutalising each other throughout the bowels of the building, brawling their way through the backstage area.....and while Bradshaw is certainly getting his shots in, it's safe to say that Kane's blows are having the most impact......at least until they reach a production area, where Bradshaw slams Kane into a steel roller door, before grabbing hold of the long metal chain that operates the roller, wrapping it around his fist, and punching the holy hell out of the Big Red Machine with what is essentially now one big brass knuckle......

.......the Monster finally goes down, and Bradshaw unwraps the chain, before using it as a steel whip to punish the big man, before finally relinquishing the weapon and backing up, winding up his arm and looking for that big Clothesline From Hell......not that he gets to unleash it.....because that's exactly when a group of security guards rush the area and drag the angry Texan away......the remaining backstage personnel turn to check on Kane, but before they reach him the Red Demon sits bolt upright......

......he stands to his feet and grabs two of the backstage workers by the throat, delivering a huge double Chokeslam to the unfortunate workers......there are three men left and they are stood frozen to the spot like deer in the headlights, as Kane launches them one by one into the hard walls, before storming off in the direction of Bradshaw......this one is far from over.

Winner to be entered into Four Way WWF Tag Team Title Match at Summerslam

While this match was set to to add our fourth and final team into the WWF Tag Team Title match at Summerslam, it also served as a prime view of sorts for how that match was going to go down.....because much like our Summerslam bout, this was one fall to a finish......and truth be told, I was kind of expecting this match to go down about as well as a fart in church.....no knock on anyone's ability, but The Headbangers and High Voltage have literally JUST arrived here in the WWF and are as unknown as unknown can be.......The Harris Boys aren't even jobbers to the stars, they're just jobbers in general......which just left Edge and Christian as the one team anyone was going to care about......but in all honesty, this really wasn't that bad......

.......it was everything you could expect......lots of tagging in and out.....lots of scrambling to become the legal team....but in the end it was Edge and Christian that came out victorious, after Edge got the pinfall on (unsurprisingly) Don Harris......which means our Summerslam final four is set......The New Age Outlaws will be defending the WWF Tag Team Titles against Al Snow and Chris Candido.....Harlem Heat......and Edge and Christian.......one of these teams will be walking out with gold.......and one with pink......their pink slip that is......because the team that eats the loss.......will be fired.

Winner(s): Edge & Christian

After a brief hype video, highlighting Summerslam and all the matches announced so far, it's back down to ringside, where the seven foot Psycho Sid is making his way to the ring......and he's not alone.....he has the man who made a surprise appearance last week.....Sid's current (and Ravens former) mentor.....Jake Roberts......although quite why the Snake has chosen to guide Sid through his sea of madness is anyone's guess......however as the two men take a microphone, we just might find out why.......

.....Sid gets a solid reception as always, the man is never not over (no matter how shocking his in ring work is) and Jake gets quite the pop too considering he hasn't been seen in a WWF ring for near on five years now.......Sid tells the crowd that he warned Raven.....he told him that he had someone in his ear.....someone that knew Raven better than Raven knows himself.....and that man, is this man......Jake "The Snake" Roberts.......

.......Jake takes the microphone.....and says he's been gone a long time.....and not just from the WWF.....he taps a finger to the side of his head, saying he was gone a long time in here too......

".......and truthfully, I didn't know if I would ever come back......didn't know if I deserved to come back.....I've done a lot of things in my life, a lot of things I'm not proud of.....and not too much that I am proud of.....I lived most of my life in pain.....not physical pain, emotional pain....I walked a long, dark, lonely road.....and the only time I felt alive, was by tarnishing anything good that I touched.......until the purest good of all touched me......I saw the light.....I confessed my sins, and there were a LOT of them.....I asked for forgiveness and I was saved......and I thought that was it.....thought I was done with this life......until Sid reached out for me and I realised the task that had been placed before me......a chance to undo some of the evil I did......see, make no mistake, I'm not here as a manager......I'm not here as a mentor......I'm not here to guide the career of Psycho Sid......I'm here for one reason, and one reason only........I'm here to save Raven......"

.........of course, judging by the look on the face of Raven, as he makes his way out with the Flock.....Raven may not want to be saved......that's if he even believes he needs saving in the first place......he comes to a halt on the entrance way, and obviously has a microphone with him, and it would seem that his initial shock from last week at Jake costing him the match with Sid has been replaced by anger........

".......save me?......SAVE ME?.......you think yourself some guardian angel now......it was YOU that pushed me into the dark, now you look for me in the light and you wonder why I'm not there?......do you know what hypocrisy is Snake?.....hypocrisy is the audacity to preach integrity from a den of corruption.....YOU can no more save ME than the devil could save a demon......I don't need saving.....I don't need you......MY Flock need ME......and if you continue to meddle in my affairs, they WILL destroy you......the fact that you've not already been reduced to a bloody puddle of viscera on that mat is the ONLY allowance I will make for the part YOU played in shaping me......but it's an allowance I will make only once.....walk away.....slither back under whatever rock you crawled out from.......or my Flock will destroy you......"

.......Jake tells Raven that he can’t do that......because saving the Flock is the first step on the road to saving Raven......he says that the Flock is a perfect example of how far Jakes toxic touch has spread......as Raven has gone from the Snakes student, to the Flocks teacher, based on the things that Jake Roberts taught........

”.......you need to free the Flock in order to free yourself.......Christopher Daniels, Crush.....Wrath......they’ve begun to see the light......they’ve begun to see the career they COULD have out from under the shadow of the Flock......Bill DeMott.....he’ll see too......and Raven....when you cast away the shackles that bind you......when you free yourself from the weight of the Flock around your neck.....you WILL fly to heights greater than even I could imagine......Trust Me.......”

......Raven looks around at the men surrounding him, the look of doubt clearly etched on their faces as he turns angrily back to Jake.....

”.......no, trust me.......you might think you’re saving me......but all you’re doing is condemning Sid......because while you waste your time in this futile redemption story.....while you TRY and save me......I’m going to destroy HIM......Quote the Raven.....Nevermore......”

.......and with that Raven turns and orders the Flock to the back......and while they do leave in unison, you can see the reluctance on the part of Daniels and The Dogs of War.....as the Snake’s words begin to take effect.

From there we go to a quick cut scene of Chris Jericho and Test standing outside of Mr. McMahon’s office with the boss himself......we’ve obviously missed the bulk of the conversation, but Vince appears to be asking Jericho if he’s sure about something, to which Jericho reply’s that he’s never been surer......Vince shrugs his shoulders, telling him alright, it’s his career......before telling him that he has a deal, as Jericho smiles and walks away, bodyguard in tow.

Winner to be entered into Four Way WWF Light Heavyweight Title Match at Summerslam

Speaking of careers, along with the Light Heavyweight Title, the careers of the four men involved will also be on the line at Summerslam, when Scorpio puts the gold on the line......we already know that Dean Malenko is going to be one of the opponents, it’s time to find out who’s going to be next, when Rey Mysterio battles Chavo Guerrero......

.....this was a decent match considering Chavo’s rather limited appearances here in the WWF (and usually on the loosing end of his matches) they two men showcased the Light Heavyweight division perfectly with their high flying display that really had the crowd on the edge of their seats........

.........at least until the Ayatollah of RocknRolla made his way down the aisle with Test......and there was nothing clandestine about their methods......Jericho simply ordered Test to go......and the big man hit the ring, nailing Mysterio right between the eyes with a running Big Boot that turned the man inside out......although on a brighter note for Rey, the disqualification victory does give him entry into the Summerslam fatal four way.....so maybe he should thank Test.......not right now obviously, he’s unconscious.....maybe when he comes to.

Winner: Rey Mysterio (via Disqualification)

Jericho walks slowly into the ring to a chorus of boo’s with a microphone in hand, where he stands over the fallen Mysterio.....Chavo doesn’t look to pleased at the fact that he’s just been cost a shot at the Light Heavyweight Championship, but a glare from Test soon has him hightailing in to the back.......Jericho says that people are probably wondering WHY he would guarantee Mysterio entry into the Light Heavyweight Fatal Four Way.......well the answer is quite simple......that’s because the fourth member of that match......

”.......IS ME.......see, Mr. McMahon, being the bastion of knowledge that he is, knows full well that Chris Jericho is the BEST light heavyweight there is......the BEST light heavyweight there was......and the BEST light heavyweight there ever will be........and because of that, I’m going to be the LAST light heavyweight there ever was......

.......Jericho pauses for a moment to let that sink in, before explaining himself......because so confident is he in his abilities......so confident is he that he IS the light heavyweight division......that he’s selflessly done Scorpio, Malenko and Mysterio a solid......because their careers, will NOT be on the line at Summerslam.......only one career will......and that’s Chris Jericho’s......

”.......and it’s all or nothing for me.......Malenko beats Junior here, I’m gone......Scorpio beats Malenko, I’m out......Junior beats Scorpio, I’m out the door.......gone......finito......done.......

.......now I know you morons are probably asking yourselves why.......why would you do that Chris.......well the answers simple, so simple that even you Dallas Dimwits can figure it out.......because if I win.......not only do I become the WWF Light Heavyweight Champion, for the second time I may add......not only do I become the Champ......but the Light Heavyweight Division.......is DONE......GONE......FINITO......RETIRED......and WHY is my career the only one on the line? So Malenko.......so Mysterio.......so every other light heavyweight competitor can sit in the WWF knowing that they can NEVER call themselves the face of the light heavyweight division......because Chris Jericho IS the light heavyweight division.....and none of you monkeys will ever......EEEEEEEVER.....wear that light heavyweight title.....again......”

Winner to be entered into Four Way WWF European Title Match at Summerslam

So far we know that The Rock will be defending the WWF European Championship at Summerslam against Jeff Jarrett and Matt Hardy.....it’s time to find out who will be the final competitor to place his career on the line in that match, as Ken Shamrock faces off against the Bizarre One, Goldust.......

.......this is a decent little match, with Shamrock showing his acting chops as he sells the disgust at some of Goldusts more unusual antics......Goldie on the other hand seems almost distracted......as if his mind is elsewhere, and with Marcus surprisingly absent from ringside, The Bizarre One keeps checking in on Marlena, asking her if he’s got “it” yet.......quite what “it” is the commentators are unsure.......but it becomes a little clearer when Marcus makes his appearance halfway through the match, running down the aisle glancing nervously over his shoulder......with what looks suspiciously like Scott Steiner’s patented lead pipe in his hand......

.......he tosses the pipe to Goldust, who lets out a little shiver of joy as he catches it.....creeping just about everyone in attendance out as he holds the object under his nose and gives it a long sniff, before turning to face Shamrock.......instead of using the pipe as a weapon however, he appears to be somewhat worshipping it, caressing it with his fingers before blowing a kiss at his opponent as he performs a rather lewd looking act on the phallus shaped object with his hand.......and that’s too much for Shamrock to take.......the man absolutely snaps and charges at Goldust, taking him down to the mat where he flips the man over and locks on the Ankle Lock.....causing Goldust to submit almost instantly.......and while Shammy doesn’t want to let go......and doesn’t appear as if he’s going to let go......he does finally relent just as the official threatens to reverse the decision, before storming to the back, screaming as he goes, as Goldust lays on the mat, still cradling Big Poppa Pumps Big Pipe.....much to the confusion of the commentators.

Winner: Ken Shamrock

So with that, it’s main event time here......as once again Scott Steiner and Steve Austin are forced to forge an uneasy alliance against a common enemy, this time in the shape of the unlikely partnership of Ahmed Johnson and Bret Hart.....although in fairness, Ahmed is one of a very select few individuals that the Hitman doesn’t seem to have a problem with......although with Ahmed’s recent history, that’s probably a wise move......

......Austin on the other hand has a problem with everyone in this match, including his own partner, with Steiner and Stone Cold never really settling their differences in a one on one setting.......he still owes Ahmed Johnson an ass whipping after Ahmed’s (admittedly blood loss aided) victory over him a few weeks back.....and as for the Hitman, he and Austin have been feuding in and off for over a year now.....

......we get a preview of sorts for Summerslam here, where Steiner and Ahmed will be battling over the WWF Championship, while Austin and Hart will be battling for pride in a no holds barred match......and while each man gets a taste of his upcoming opponent here, Austin and Steiner spend as much time bickering amongst themselves as they do working over their opponents......it’s been a very promo heavy show too.....so the match didn’t get as long as we would usually afford our main event matches, but it was long enough to get the point across........

qQmwebo.jpg

........and it was long enough for this man to play his part......as Owen made his way down the ring, both distracting the official and discreetly tossing his brother what appears to be a set of Brass Knucks at the same time......and as Austin and Steiner bicker, Ahmed sends Steiner bundling to the outside, while the Hitman lives up to his name, taking out Stone Cold with a shot to the back of the head with the foreign object that he quickly slips inside his trunks.......he slaps on the Sharpshooter as the official turns around, but Austin is in no state to submit......in fact he’s out cold......and when he’s unresponsive to the officials prompts, the ref has no choice but to stop the match.

Winner(s): Ahmed Johnson & Bret Hart

dnLuBx8.jpgo8GrTsa.jpgqQmwebo.jpgj2Tooev.jpgLjBLTcA.jpg

With Austin down, Ahmed and The Hart Foundation turn their respective attention towards Big Poppa Pump.....who is soon overwhelmed by the three on one assault.....so much so that Ahmed tells Bret and Owen to back off so that he can punish his Summerslam opponent alone......Ahmed is a scary individual as of late, so the Harts don’t need asking twice, as they turn their attention back to Stone Cold, who is slowly coming back around......

......unsurprisingly this Texas crowd is going crazy for Austin, loudly chanting his name in an effort to rally the man......and it works.....sort of.......Austin does indeed manage to fight his way back to his feet and begins rocking Bret and Owen with right hands.......at least until he gets cut off by a chop block from the Hitman......and he’s down again......

AvJwLJZ.jpg

.......which is when help arrives in the form of the British Bulldog Davey Boy Smith......who dives into the ring and begins to fight off his former teammates.....he fights a good fight, but again it’s two on one......and when Ahmed sees the intrusion he stops his assault of Steiner just long enough to nail Davey in the back of the head with a stiff Clothesline.....and just like that the Bulldog is down too.......so you would assume things looked pretty bleak for the fan favourites......

......had it not been for the fact that the brief reprise that the Bulldogs arrival had granted Austin was enough for the Texas native to slide to the outside and pick up a steel chair.......which he crashes into the backs of first Owen, then Bret.......and finally Ahmed.....but while The Harts quickly bail to the outside after the first blow, Ahmed is going nowhere......and and after three more strikes with the steel, all Austin has done is back the big bull up against the ropes........

........which is when Scotty comes charging across the ring, sending Ahmed over the top and crashing to the floor with a huge Steinerline.......

.......Ahmed looks as though he still wants to fight, but the Harts have had enough and they quickly exit to the back, as the show goes off the air to the sight of a frantic Jim Cornette attempting to convince a p!ssed off Ahmed Johnson to do the same......Summerslam is certainly going to be a heated affair if tonight’s scenes are anything to go by.

It’s Titans of Wrestling time, as the dastardly heel group make their way down the aisle in mass......and they don’t look in a particularly good mood......at least Russo and Hogan don’t.....and if Hollywood Hogan isn’t happy then nobody is happy.....the group climb into the ring where Russo tells these fans to first of all, shut their mouths......and second of all, open their ears......because the boss has something to say.......obviously that generates a fairly large chorus of boo’s, but Russo continues regardless.......

......he looks around at the people surrounding him, before saying that he thought he had made himself very clear.....that where it comes to the Titans of Wrestling, he expects results......last week he was fairly confident that The Enforcer and Jean Paul Levesque could get the job done.....beat Sting and the Warrior......and get rid of those two face painted morons.....but no......and now it’s going to be down to Hollywood and The Macho Man to do the job that those two couldn’t.....fortunately, Hogan and Savage are the two biggest icons in professional wrestling.....bar none......and they will easily wipe the floor with the mute and the space cadet.....

”.......but that’s not the point bro......Hollywood Hogan and The Macho Man Randy Savage shouldn’t be having to clear up YOUR mess......so Ray Traylor.....you get another chance to redeem yourself tonight, because I’ve booked you in the main event.......against Sting.......”

.......The Enforcer seems happy enough with that......Levesque less so, asking what he’s supposed to do? Russo tells him that if he can’t take care of the big boys, he’s arranged a slightly easier opponent for him.....Diamond Dallas Page.......see if Levesque can’t snuff that little problem out before it gets any bigger.......if he can handle it that is.......if not........well, there are plenty of Titans in waiting......all Vince Russo has to do is pick up the phone and make it happen......because like he said......unless your name is Hollywood Hogan or Randy Savage......pretty much anyone is replaceable.....

......Levesque looks far from pleased with that public dressing down......but he keeps his mouth shut.....for now......as Hogan takes the mic.......he says that just leaves one more piece of business tonight.......

”.......and that’s the Warrior dude......see, that face painted freak show is getting too big for his boots brothers.....and it’s time he was taken down a peg or two.......and like Mr. Russo said, it’s time to earn your colours tonight.......I want the Warriors head served up on a silver platter......I want him bloody......I want him battered......I want him broken into a thousand pieces man.......I want the Warrior......or MAYBE I’m going to be looking through Mr. Russo’s little black book, and finding someone that CAN give me what I want.......”

......clearly all is not rosy in the Titans garden right now......and that can only spell problems for WCW.

We open up tonight with Tag Team action......as the monsters of WCW continue to line up in an attempt to get their hands on Mike Awesome......tonight it’s Vader and Bam Bam Bigelow’s turn......but Awesome isn’t alone.......he’s got a little bit of back up in the form of the gentleman who debuted last week......

......Mike Tenay shows us why they call him the Professor, informing the audience that he spoke to Missy Hyatt just today, and he can confirm that this young man’s name is Gideon Cain......and just like Mike Awesome, he wants to prove that he is the next generation of big man, by systematically taking apart ANYONE that says differently........(incidentally, did you know that young Horshu/Luther Reigns here wrestled on the Indys as Max Impact? Inspector Max Impact to be precise.......do you know how badly I wanted to keep that piece of crap name just so I could give these two the team name of Awesome Impact......buttttt, Russo is in control here, and we all know what he thinks of “outdated gimmicks”......and since Luther Reigns is so 2003, Gideon Cain it is).......

......considering that young Gideon here is pretty much fresh out of the Power Plant, this match wasn’t half bad.....obviously Cain was the weak link (performance wise we had Vader A*, Bigelow A, Awesome B+ and then Cain with a D+) but being that it was a Tag Team match we were able to hide his limitations pretty well.....and the match would probably have been even better recieved, had the main eventers won.......

jFDS7jG.jpgZCmEKxR.jpg

.......as it was however, a p!ssed off Giant made his way out.....with Lex Luger trying to keep the man calm......as the two made their way down the aisle.......that caused Vader to completely take his eye off the match......which left his partner all alone to eat an assisted Powerbomb combination from Awesome and Cain......and as Mike Awesome made the cover, this one was in the books.

Again, while the combination of Vader and Bam Bam Bigelow, and the pairing of The Giant and Lex Luger SHOULD be focusing their attention on Mike Awesome and Gideon Cain, it’s each other that they are pushing and shoving.......and a full on brawl almost erupts here......with Bigelow furious that the Giant stuck his nose into the match.....but also somewhat peeved that his partner left him high and dry......and as tensions flare and tempers erupt in the ring, Awesome, Cain and Missy make their way triumphantly up the aisle, with huge smiles on their faces as we go to a commercial for Road Wild, which is less than two weeks away.

And just like last week, the action doesn’t stop just because the Renegades match has, as these pair enter the ring, and the man clad in green proceeds to assault our face painted hero.......this week as the assault takes place, the associate takes a microphone......declaring himself to be James Vandenberg, the mouthpiece and the mastermind behind this man.....Mortis.....a man who is going to systematically dismantle the entire WCW......starting with The Renegade.......why the Renegade?......because James Vandenberg strives for nothing short of purity and perfection.......and this man here, is nothing more than a second rate attempt to recapture the essence of another.......a Warrior clone built on deception and lies.....unpure......unworthy and unwanted.....and Mortis is here, to cleanse the mistakes of the past.......

.......with that Mortis drags The Renegade to his feet, before positioning him for the Flatliner and driving his skull into the mat, as Vandenberg looks on laughing in the background.......someone scrape the Renegade off the mat, because he’s done folks.

Rick Martel will be challenging Lord Steven Regal for the WCW Television Championship in just 13 days at the Road Wild.....with the agreement in place that it shall be one on one, with the Blue Bloods remaining in the back.......with that being said, it’s the Earl that Martel is facing tonight......and much like at Road Wild there is to be no outside influences.....because while The Duke, Douglas Williams does accompany Eaton to the ring, the official is quick to remove him from ringside and send him back to the locker rooms......much to the outrage of Earl Robert.....

.......these are two veterans of the Ring right here, and while neither man can exactly be accused of being in their prime, they’re still good enough to put on a decent showing......this is all about setting Martel up to face Regal however, and the former Model picks up the victory win the Boston Crab to build his momentum going forward.

Mean Gene is out to shill the Hotline next, urging all the great WCW fans to call right now for ALL the rumoured new arrivals around here.......before introducing WCW United States Champion Eddie Guerrero down to the ring......

.......Eddie says he’s been on more than just a roll......he’s been on fire.....so much so that he can’t get no competition around here.....everyone is avoiding him esé......Gene scoffs at that, stating that as long as he has that United States Title around his waist, he sincerely doubts that ANYONE is going to be avoiding Guerrero......in fact, he’s probably got half the locker room gunning for him........

It’s time for Jean Paul Levesque to prove his worth around here, as Vince Russo has tasked him with taking out Diamond Dallas Page tonight before the man becomes too much of a problem.....and while Page is accompanied by the gorgeous Kimberly, Levesque also has an accomplice.....although it’s not any of the Titans of Wrestling......it’s Buff Bagwell.....although after the Titans (and mainly Tripl....oops, Levesque) handed him a victory last week, it looks like Buff is keen to return the favour......although I’m sure he wouldn’t say no to entry into the exclusive group......

.......this match was pretty good, and pretty much went exactly how you would expect.....Bagwell interfered on numerous occasions (when he wasn’t too busy actively flirting with Kimberly) and it seemed like DDP was fighting a loosing battle against two men.........

......not that he looks particularly happy about having to make the save......but at least Page and Benoit haven’t been going out of their way to help him after his little “leave me alone” speech a month or so back......he also appears to be checking behind him for someone.....and since The Warrior is nowhere to be seen, you’ve got to assume he’s wondering where he is......

......eventually he’s seen enough......and while he doesn’t exactly run, he certainly walks briskly to the ring, where he nails Bagwell in the kidneys with the bat, holding off Levesque and Traylor just long enough for Benoit and Page to regain their composure long enough for the pair to get back into the fight.......as the two men brawl all the way to the back with Levesque and Bagwell, leaving Sting and Traylor all alone to focus on their match......which is up next.

So it’s Sting against Ray Traylor......The Enforcer, The Big Bossman, Big Bubba, The Boss, The Guardian Angel......damn, this guys had more gimmicks than Brutus Beefcake......anyway......Russo is looking for Traylor to take Sting apart here tonight after taking the pinfall last week that granted Sting and The Warrior their shot at Hogan and Savage at Road Wild.......Russo is going to be disappointed......because he ate the loss tonight too......after Sting dropped him on his head with the Scorpion Death Drop.

Winner: Sting

Sting picks up the victory.....but his music is cut off by the arrival of Vince Russo, who makes his way out on the ramp......he’s not happy, telling Traylor to get his ass to the back, he’ll deal with him later, before turning to Sting......he tells the Stinger that he must be feeling pretty pleased with himself......he got the win last week......he got the win tonight......and he and Warrior have got The Mega Powers of Professional Wrestling at Road Wild.......

”......well I’ve got news for ya bro.....that’s where your fairy tail comes to an end......because you might THINK you want Hogan.....you might THINK you want Savage......but what you don’t understand bro, is that you simply can’t hang with the Mega Powers of Professional Wrestling......and Hollywood and The Macho Man, they’re gonna year you apart......”

“........is that right?.......you mean like Ray Traylor tore me apart just now?.......I tell you what, since you’re so confident there.....how about you put your money where your mouth is........and at Road Wild......if I pin Hogan......if I make him submit.......Hogan, not Savage.......if I beat the WCW Champion.......I get Hogan next month......and I get a shot at that World Title.......”

......the crowd pops for that.....Russo doesn’t look convinced however.......and Sting sees it too, asking him what’s the matter, not so confident after all?......Russo weighs the options up for a minute, before regaining his cocky composure, telling Sting he’s on.......

”......if by some miracle you can beat the biggest icon in professional wrestling, Hollywood Hogan in that match......then you get a shot at the title.......BUT.......but bro, if Hollywood Hogan beats YOU......then you don’t get a shot at that title for as long as it’s around Hollywood’s waist......and believe me, that’s going to be for quite some time......”

......Sting doesn’t take quite as long as Russo to answer.....but he still pauses for a beat before finally agreeing........to which Russo looks surprisingly happy......telling Sting that he just made the biggest mistake of his life......because it’s not just Him and Hogan out there......it’s Savage and The Warrior too......and The Warrior......he might not be in any condition to help......

”.....after all, it’s like they always say.....if you want something done right, do it yourself......”

.......with that the big screen, the Turnertron if you will flickers to life.......to show Hollywood Hogan and The Macho Man standing over the seemingly unconscious body of The Warrior somewhere in the back......Hogan starts cackling like a madman, telling Sting that he’s just signed his own death warrant.....because at Road Wild, he’s going to find out exactly what the Warrior Dude just found out.......and that’s the fact that you just don’t mess with the Mega Powers of Professional Wrestling jack......

.......Savage pulls out a can of spray paint, proceeding to spray T.o.W across the massive back of the Warrior in black paint.....as the show comes to an end on a close up of Sting’s now worried expression.....just 13 days away from Road Wild.

Final Rating: B

Absolutely nothing to report this week.....other than the fact that Jeff Hardy has really helped the WCW locker room by being such a pleasure to be around......only for Hollywood Hogan to undo all his good work, by turning half the locker room against the Giant.......good god Hogan, first Savage and now The Giant

Just spent the past few work days reading this whole thing, masterful work, really enjoyed what you've done. Keeping some wrestlers to their true to life personas even if a bit early, while taking others in completely new directions is awesome to see.

Thanks a lot, welcome aboard......just don’t let your boss catch you reading :p

Bobby Eaton advising on psychology? :D

Bobby Eaton advising on mic work?

I know right, my thoughts exactly.......although to be fair, for as bad of a talker Bobby is, he’s still head and shoulders above his greener than goose sh!t protege

I’m calling it now, Rocky is heading down south!

While I would hate to lose the Rock before I even had chance to properly utilise him, the one heading down south wasn’t decided by me so nobody is safe

Ahmed and Bret - This looks like a great match for the heels to get some super cheap heat. Also, and you can feel free to use this one on the next Raw, Scott Steiner IS gonna go down... on his best freaks!

You know I’m going to use that right? :p

On the WCW side all I can say is oh gawd Bobby, WHY?! Of all the proteges to take on, it had to be Horshu?

Who’s this Horshu you’re speaking of? I think you mean Gideon Cain :D and he’s going to take WCW by storm.....you can be Shu of that......by god that man had an awful gimmick.
