The year 1986. I am running the AWA. We just bought out the WWF. What would you do? Would you:

1. Keep The Titles totally separate and have two brands (AWA and WWF) with it's own World Champions?

2. Would you Unify the Titles and just make the AWA World Title the only real World Title ( I refuse to just keep the WWF Title and do away with the AWA)?

3. Would you make the AWA and the WWF two separate "territories" each with it's own champion BUT crown a new WORLD CHAMPION (no idea what the title would be called yet) and let him float between the two?

4. Other ideas?

Make them a Child Promotion, and create an alliance.

Have a showcase of champions match where the world titles are unified into the AWA World Heavyweight championship. Then reduce the prestige of the WWF Tag Team Championships to about 50-60 and the Intercontinental Championship becomes the new WWF Flagship belt. This allows the company to remain a viable training promotion.

If you want to go all the way, create an alliance where only "alliance trade" is checked, pop them both in and create an "AWA Universal Championship" that serves as an alliance to counter the NWA. The AWA World Championship is the second belt in the company and WWF Intercontinental Championship is the third belt.

That is what I would do, anyway. WWF still has, at this point, multiple PPV's of prestige, a video library and some connection with mainstream culture. I would want AWA to piggyback this and double down. They could even, in keyfabe, treat WWF like a different entity like WWF did when they bought WCW by having, in keyfabe, Shane steal the company and run it as a separate entity and not just an invading faction.

I would also consider making WWF a touring company instead of a full time company.

It would kind of have a boxing feel to it. You could have guys from the respective brands wrestle each other and it would be OK for a guy to have multiple belts at once.

LOL have Greg Gagne "steal" the company right out from under you. This being 1986 it would make Greg a huge heel stabbing his beloved father in the back.

Absorb them and make a run to National with a brand split and running two "separate" and competing companies. Run a major yearly major event where the companies compete in a best of seven series with champion vs. champion matchups and then multi man survivor series matchups filling out the rest of the card.

I have the same thing in my game, I buy the WWF in 1993 after the steroid and sexual scandals. I mix the WWF and the WCW PPV, and unifie all titles. But to still have a war, I import the WWE from 2016, with Vince McMahon has the owner (I let him unemployed). They have a lot of money, there are a lot of popular wrestlers unemployed for them, and they also had other tv shows and events (I own WCW Raw, or WCW Wrestlemania/Royal Rumble...)
