LAX Wrestling Submission Thread

Recommended Posts

The submission process for new LAX Wrestling talent has closed. Thank you to everyone who submitted a creation! I truly enjoyed diving into them (and talking with you about the subtleties of their characters).
Created companies can be the hardest dynasty to present as the roster is foreign and unknown to the reader. That said, I plan to do all I can to fill in those gaps. Whether it's through a linkable roster (making their bio more dynamic versus static), giving the database as a 'free to download/use' product, and engaging in conversation with the readers/creators, I want to bring this promotion to life. Knowing this, I have started to create a linkable collection of roster names below. The dynasty thread will present this information differently; however, in this case, I want to give you a view of who's coming to LAX Wrestling from the start.

Awesome. Submitted my character, here's hoping he makes the cut and has as much success as Cesar did last time around.

I vastly prefer this method of character submission, it's nice that we can see other people's submissions (though I wish I'd looked before because I've used the same Finisher as someone who's already submitted a character - feel free to change it to any similar move). Looking forward to reading. :)

Can we submit our own custom pictures? When and/or where should we send them?

Anyway, I'm about to submit my character. I think you'll like it. Looking forward to this project!

Is the custom photo of a Cornellverse or T-Verse variety (i.e. not a real world picture)? If so, you can either share it via a link in the Google Form or send it to me via a GDS message.

<p><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">UPDATE</span></strong></p><p>

Due to the created nature of our roster, I have decided to use Cornellverse workers to fill out the staff positions (giving us a grounding-base). With that said, the owner will be (once again) Vinny Cruz. His right hand man will be Alfonso Garcia (announcer). The two came together while working in QAW and finally put an idea into motion after talking about it forever.</p><p> </p><p>

Finally, my user character may be diving into the head of one of THE most interesting figures the Cornellverse has to offer... Carlos Gonzalez. </p><p> </p><p>

The story would be told from the head of Carlos. As you can guess, that's going to be a crazy scenario to say the least. He'll be brought in at first as the co-headbooker along with Alfonso (story-wise). That said, from an in-game perspective, it would be Carlos in control of booking. </p><p> </p><p>

This is the idea I'm kicking around right now. At first, I thought of running with Alfonso as my character (and I may still) but I am really entertained by the idea of Carlos Gonzalez telling the story.</p>

I'm a fan of your writing and enjoyed what you've produced. I read some of your past diaries and I like them, especially the ideas you had came up with. I'm eager to see how this all plays out and in the mean time, I guess I should check out your old 'LAX Wrestling' dynasty to see how it's like. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />:p

<p><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">PRODUCT AND ROSTER SELECTION UPDATE</span></strong></p><p>

LAX Wrestling's product will most likely be a 50/50 product (Popularity and ability). Since each wrestler's popularity will start out rather low, their ability in the ring will be important. That said, since we are a local to small promotion, the overall ability of each wrestler won't be astronomical. I'm going to keep their abilities in check to better simulate a small company made of wrestlers we've never heard about before.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><em>When it comes to the 20 wrestlers that will be selected, I am looking for variety. I don't want to have a promotion made of 20 versions of essentially the same person. That would be pretty boring for us all. </em></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="color:#000080;">While there is a heavy lucha influence, LAX Wrestling is not going to be 100% lucha wrestling. </span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

The fact that we reside in Los Angeles, presenting an underlying culture there, gives room for a lot of different types of characters. Tattoos, rebellious nature, unknown rock/rap music, gritty, brick wall, graffiti... That's what I am looking at. Again, that doesn't mean that AL the characters need to fit THAT though, too. I'm looking for a well-rounded roster of characters.</p>

To say she's a handful would be a vast understatement. </span></span></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:'Lucida Sans Unicode';"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:'Lucida Sans Unicode';"><span style="font-size:12px;">

Often seen coming in and out of area clubs all night, every night, Hell Kat is the kind of figure who can create a lot of initial buzz in the Los Angeles region for LAX Wrestling. That said, it remains to be seen whether she can reign in her rebellious ways JUST enough to keep her job with the company (or remain out of jail altogether).</span></span></div></div></div></div></div><p></p>

Instead of creating a new submission, just PM me with what you're thinking (who they are, gimmick, picture idea, etc.).</p>

ROSTER SUBMISSION UPDATE

Thank you to everyone who has submitted a wrestler thus far. It's been really exciting to look through what you've created. Very cool! There are a few things that I wanted to highlight going forward though (as a way to even things out).

We still need...

Having seen this I'm slightly gutted I didn't go with my option A now. Would have been as out there as my usual offerings but it would have hit 1 and 3 together well. Was worried about not finding a render and therefore not being picked though.

If it helps, I can 100% see CC working as a babyface in a heavily Cult promotion.

Place more emphasis on only snapping when pushed, and presto, babyface ;)
