On the trio enter the ring it becomes obvious that they all have gold on their minds tonight as DDP, who is the first to speak, says that he is now officially the number one contender to Jeff Jarrett's World Heavyweight Championship and he's coming for that title at New Blood Rising! Eric Bischoff has a mic in his hands and he proceeds to book a huge match for tonight; Diamond Dallas Page and Kevin Nash vs. Jeff Jarrett and Lex Luger... with the added stipulation that if Nash and Page wins...then DDP will get to choose a stipulation for the World Title match at New Blood Rising AND Nash and Savage will get a Tag Team Title shot. But if Jarrett and Luger wins, DDP forfeits his World Title shot and Nash and Savage don't get their Tag Team Title shot. Bischoff notes that there is a saying that goes something like "be careful what you wish for" and maybe Page, Nash and Savage should have thought a little bit about that before they came out here tonight because now it's all or nothing! The announcers wonder what DDP thinks of having to put it all on the line like this, but, almost as if he was reading their minds, Bischoff says that if Page has a problem with putting his title shot on the line tonight...well, then he's got his big buddy to thank for it. The Chosen Ones return to the back as the camera focuses on the three men in the ring before cutting elsewhere. Hugh Morrus defeated Evan Karagias at 3.59 by disqualification when Shannon Moore got involved (D+) Shannon Moore continues his attack even as the bell continues to ring, and Evan Karagias joins in as well and now both members of 3-Count are beating Hugh Morrus down. "The Cat" drops the mic and then he and Miss Jones make their way to the ring, but once again Kanyon backs off and heads up the ramp, wanting no part of "The Cat" despite his big words, as Tony Schiavone quickly points out. This is a decent match that gives up a little glimpse into what the future might hold for the cruiserweight division in WCW as both AJ Styles and Jamie Knoble show flashes of brilliance in this one. Still, there is just too much talent on the other team and it is Disco Inferno who picks up the win for his team, hitting the Last Dance on Lash Leroux and securing the pinfall, adding another victory to his impressive run as of late. Disco Inferno, Chavo Guerrero Jr. and Cash defeated Lash Leroux, AJ Styles and Jamie Knoble at 5.07 by pinfall when Disco pinned Leroux following a Last Dance © Disco Inferno gets on the mic after the match and he notes what a great team he, Chavo and Cash just made...and then asks if perhaps they should repeat the success next week? Despite Storm's presence at ringside, Konnan does manage to turn the match around and he eventually picks up the win by forcing Skipper to submit with the Ziplock in a decent match. Konnan defeated Elix Skipper at 5.55 by submission with the Ziplock © Konnan gets on the mic after the match and he tells Lance Storm that since it was no problem for him to come down to the ring and stick his nose into his business, it should be no problem for him to step into the ring with Konnan right now! Konnan motions for Storm to enter the ring, but his words and his gestures fall on deaf ears, however, as Storm simply walks off, evidently not planning on squaring off with Konnan tonight, which leads Tony Schiavone to note that Storm only seems to be interested in a fight when he can jump someone from behind. This is another decent match on a night that has been full of them so far, but the finish does not come without some controversy as Yang, after having been isolated and made a spirited comeback, goes to make the hot tag to Kaz Hayashi...only to find that Hayashi isn't there--he's down on the floor arguing with "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan about Duggan's presence at ringside. This allows Shawn Stasiak to pull Yang back to their corner and tag in Mark Jindrak, who puts Yang away with the Mark of Perfection to pick up the win. Mark Jindrak and Shawn Stasiak defeated The Jung Dragons at 6.54 by pinfall when Jindrak pinned Yang following a Mark of Perfection (C-) The match is over and Kaz Hayashi is furious at "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan, who he blames for causing them to lose the match. At one point the referee is accidentally knocked out and the World Champion immediately tries to capitalize on it by going for his Acoustic Equalizer, but all he gets for his troubles is a big boot planted right in his face by "Big Sexy" Kevin Nash! Bagwell and Awesome then enter the ring and a four on two fight ensues, forcing the referee to call for the disqualification. The Insiders defeated Jeff Jarrett and Lex Luger at 16.26 by disqualification when Buff Bagwell and Mike Awesome got involved (B+) As The Chosen Ones and Mike Awesome continue to beat the Insiders down in the ring, Tony Schiavone wonders why they would do this when they knew it would get them disqualified, but Mike Tenay says that it won't matter if DDP, Nash and Savage have title shots at New Blood Rising if they won't be able to compete, which is exactly what The Chosen Ones are trying to ensure here with the help of that damned Mike Awesome! "Macho Man" is stirring at ringside, but Mike Awesome leaves the ring to deal with him as Jarrett, Luger and Bagwell continue to beat Page and Nash down. Jarrett then grabs his guitar again and things look bad for the Insiders, but then the lights in the building suddenly go out, and when they come down on a few moments later... <img alt="7PSSM69.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/7PSSM69.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> STING IS STANDING IN THE RING!!!!!!! The crowd absolutely explodes and Jarrett, Luger and Bagwell can't believe their eyes! After a long, intense moment, the Tag Team Champions decide to attack, but Sting pulls his bat out from under his coat and he makes short work of both Luger and Bagwell, driving the bat into the midsection of each of them while the Jeff Jarrett quickly scrambles out of the ring! Luger and Bagwell roll out of the ring as well and they retreat back up the ramp alongside the World Champion. The dust is very much still settling here, but Diamond Dallas Page has a stipulation to pick for his World Title match, Kevin Nash and Randy Savage has a Tag Title shot, and Sting is back in WCW as Monday Nitro comes to an end! I appreciate the comments and I'm very happy to have Sting back myself. I was looking for just the right time to bring him back and I believe this was it.

This is a good match that comes to an end when Buff hits the Blockbuster on Rhodes, who walks right into it after being distracted by Luger, and Buff picks up the pinfall victory with a big time assist from his tag team partner. Chavo Guerrero Jr. does a lot of the work for his team early on in this one and Mike Tenay speculates if perhaps Chavo is trying to force his way back into the title picture by picking up a win here. The match is decent with a lot of back and forth action, but in the end it is Big Smooth who proves to be the difference in this one as he takes advantage of the referee losing control of the match by entering the ring and hitting a devastating powerslam on Alex Wright, who is then easy pickings for Disco Inferno who simply has to cover his former tag team partner to pick up the win. In the ring, Sting gets on the mic and tells Jarrett that before he disappears into the back he should know that the Stinger plans to do everything he can to ensure a straight up one on one fight at New Blood Rising. Still, despite their best efforts, Booker manages to overcome the odds as he knocks "Big Poppa Pump" off the apron, then ducks a Steinerline attempt from Rick Steiner, and then Booker catches "The Dog Faced Gremlin" with a Bookend for the three count and the win. Booker T is headed to New Blood Rising! Booker T defeated Rick Steiner at 11.44 by pinfall with a Bookend. The feeling was that Flair was barely even trying during his match against Big Vito, and Flair's lack of professionalism during the match has raised some concerns among the higher-ups of WCW. The general feeling is that management still have plans for Flair, but that he isn't exactly helping himself with this kind of behavior. The other big backstage story coming out of this Nitro concerns an injury that Mark Jindrak suffered during the main event. Reports indicate that Jindrak sustained some broken ribs after a botched move by Kevin Nash which has led to some tension between the two of them. The injury is expected to slow Jindrak down a bit for the next few weeks, but the feeling is that it is nothing too serious and that he won't be missing any time because of it. We are also getting reports that both Jeff Jarrett and Chuck Palumbo have tested positive for sterioids in recent weeks, and both men have received stern warnings about this. "Big Poppa Pump" Scott Steiner has gotten some heat with the rest of the locker room after he bragged to everyone who would listen--and to those who wouldn't--about how much money he is making in WCW. Management gave Scott a slap on the wrist as the feeling was that this wasn't a major issue, but still something they would rather be without. In other, more positive news, "The Total Package" Lex Luger shared some funny road stories with the rest of the locker room which a lot of people seemed to both enjoy and appreciate. </div></blockquote>
