ZEN and the Art of Staying Classy

The main room that once served as the venue for all ZEN shows is in the midst of revelry. Not that anyone would really want to talk to me anyway. I think they all know I’m pretty grumpy after how Way of the Scholar was received by our fans. Don’t get me wrong, they didn’t hate it, but it felt like a step back from my first show, and I’m probably pushing it having HK come out on top twice in a row. At least that backlash should drown out all the hate mail I’m expecting to get from pissed off parents for the C-W-A/Molly Cuddle angle.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Oh well. You are right that this rivalry isn't over with, so I guess I felt like giving the heel a cheap win sets up the babyface for a bigger comeback.</p><p> </p><p> I should also say that ZEN's season finale is Way of the Warrior in July, so most of the storylines and current feuds will build up to that. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

<p>I'm leaving no predictions, but you should make the assumptions that I know how every match will turn out before you even post them.</p><p> </p><p>

I congratulate Massey on his fine choice of mysterious brown liquid with ice. It's the beverage of champions.</p><p> </p><p>

I also don't get what ZEN is doing going with Pumpkin Jack as champion. There seems to be some disease in the Cornellverse where the main belt is held by some up and comer, rather than by the most talented wrestler or the most popular. Pumpkin Jack is, best case, your third best ME to be holding the strap. SWITCH THAT BELT!</p>

<em>Usually, the champion retaining is the safer bet, but if Devilfish is the more popular guy and you wanted to get the belt from one babyface to another, this kind of match could be the way to do it. Let's say Devilfish takes it.</em></p>

<p>I thought you went with a DQ with Kalliope but it very reasonable the way things are developing it. 5 out of 6 isn't that bad! <img alt=";)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/wink.png.686f06e511ee1fbf6bdc7d82f6831e53.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

The Master of Mischief managed to win the ensuing exchange and send Cyanide crashing to the mat, but with the ZEN Master title at his fingertips, HK tipped the ladder over, sending Devilfish through a table on the floor that had been set up earlier in the bout.</div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> With the fans booing loudly, HK confidently climbed each rung, but took too much time in the process. Pumpkin Jack staggered to his feet, saw HK about to grab the belt, and hurriedly climbed to stop his rival. To a pop, Jack grabbed HK for an Orange Bowl onto the top of the ladder, and the Godfather of Ghouls dropped to the canvas like a sack of wet laundry. Now all alone, Jack easily unhooked the ZEN Master title to more cheers.</div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><div style="text-align:center;"><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Winner via Retrieval at 22:02 and Still ZEN Master – Pumpkin Jack</strong></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong> Match Rating: D+ (51)</strong></div></div></div><p></p><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> <div style="border: solid 5px #000000;"></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="Rttdt16.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/Rttdt16.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> [</div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><em>Remaining at the top of the ladder, Pumpkin Jack stands above his vanquished foes with the ZEN Master title in hand. Guess I won't get the chance to get my predictions in on the last show. :p. I'm glad my comment made your day, but I'm all for good C-Verse diaries and yours certainly fits in that mold. It's such a shame that C-Verse diaries are few and far between these days. I can't think of many that are active/constantly updated so it's nice to have this one updated so regularly.

Blue Flea vs C-W-A

Not a huge fan of either of these guys but in the diary, C-W-A has something that has got me interested (Molly storyline of course) so he should win.

SubUrban Legend w/ Killer B vs Toady w/ HalloWarped and Guru Vishni

I love SubUrban Legend, Toady, I'm meh on. But Guru Vishni is sure to make some kind of interference, but I still think the Funkman comes out on top

Dazzler vs Shaolin

Dazzler is a decent pick up for ZEN in terms of gimmick and midcard talent, certainly somebody I could see joining Pinky and the Vane in the future but Shaolin should be slightly more over and is a better talent

For the ZEN Conceptual Title

Damian Dastardly © vs Man O’War

Man O' War is great and all but he ain't no Damian Dastardly

ZEN Master #1 Contender Match

Devilfish vs Halloween Knight

Gonna go for a safe pick here but... I could see Devilfish get a win here,

I'll explain why in the main event

For the ZEN Master Title

Cyanide vs Pumpkin Jack ©

This could be the beginning of the heel turn for Jack and join Halloween Knight and Cyanide to rule ZEN, what a group of villians or Devilfish to chase. However, I don't know if you'll do that so I go with the safe picks.

Been following this since the start and because I primarily play the Australian region I have so much interest in this. Firstly Jesse Tasman is money, maybe no in ZEN setting but he is definitely money. Also like Lerone Slim but I have never had much come from him. Anyway seeing the length of time the diary goes for I don't think Tasman will get a major showing.

Also I just love everything about the diary, from the way it is written, to the fact the writing is on the wall essentially with how it all ends.

Blue Flea vs C-W-A

I am actually thinking this would goto a no contest, but deciding that CWA is more likely to win by disqualification. When Zero makes an appearance.

SubUrban Legend w/ Killer B vs Toady w/ HalloWarped and Guru Vishni

Love the Knights Temple, and they are definitely money when solo acts as well, they will have a strong run with the titles but I think Toady and Warpjump as a whole need the win here. Warpjump aren't going to regain the titles anytime soon but they are one of the only viable contenders for the titles so need to look strong.

Dazzler vs Shaolin

Dazzler lost in his first outing but should pick up the win after an inevitable Pinky and the Vane appearance.

For the ZEN Conceptual Title

Damian Dastardly © vs Man O’War

Someone mentioned that the Title was making the man in reference to Pumpkin Jack. Well in this case it is the other way around. The man makes the title and Damian Dastardly will elevate the Conceptual Title until poached or he hits the Main Event Scene.

ZEN Master #1 Contender Match

Devilfish vs Halloween Knight

This whole diary has been making Devil Fish look good and I can see him getting an unexpected win here, while HK ends up causing shenanigans in the Main Event.

For the ZEN Master Title

Cyanide vs Pumpkin Jack ©

Buried the hatchet with Cyanide and have created a dominating team. No way these guys disappear out of the Main Event. So in a way its a coin flip in my mind. Whoever wins the earlier match dictates the winner of this one. I expect the duo of HK and Cyanide to run rampant for awhile as Devilfish ends up in an underdog role before finally triumphing. Hopefully by that point Dastardly is ready to make the jump to the ME.

About the crowd telling to Yale when to count a pin, have you ever saw a football match, I mean soccer for you, when the home team fans shout "Man" to their player when an opponent tries to steal the ball or "Shoot" when he has a clear opportunity to score? That ones!</p><p> </p><p>

C-W-A vs Vertigo

The main feud isn't with Vertigo, C-W-A to continue his roll of wins and work the feud more with Super Zero. Expecting a brainwashed Molly to pop up and get involved here.

For the ZEN Harmony Tag Team Titles

The Ghost Hunters vs The Knights Temple ©

Ghost Hunters aren't on the same level or even close to the Knights Temple and they aren't going to drop the titles to those guys. I don't rate the Ghost Hunters at all and based on your initial assessment neither do you. Actually that raises a question, will you be updating the rosters and assessments of the characters.

Tuxedo Match

Pink Spider vs Shaolin

Shaolin got a win last week and unless someone is getting a significant push I believe in 50/50 booking. Can see a no contest/DQ finish as with the first match but you don't tend to overbook which is nice.

Non-Title Match

Damian Dastardly vs ‘Rowdy’ Rod Edwards

I like Damian and this can be a comfortable win. Rob didn't impress his first go round and with a poor gimmick he will get that one year rookie treatment.

Table Match to become ZEN Master #1 Contender

Cyanide vs Devilfish

Same as last week. The winner of this match kind of decides the winner of the next one. In the context that you want a Face v Heel dynamic and the Cyanide and HK team up. I rate Devilfish and would rather see him chase.

Halloween Knight wins here, the team of Cyanide and Halloween Knight are too strong and a chasing Face is always nicer.
