WMMA5 Small Questions Thread

Nice. What ratings exactly did you tinker with? Would love some inside on this. I always play with regeneration on, but that's my personal preference.

A couple in the General and in the Standing section. An interesting one was 32.6% dedication I put on 100% I thought that was interesting and possibly retirement relevant. Other stuff was I think reflexes, conditioning, chin strength... could've been more. And in the standing department I think it was like head movement, punch technique, hand speed, take down defense and maybe 1 or 2 others. Pumbed everyone of those to 100%. Didn't write them down, just made two pictures of the original ratings in those categories to put them back into place afterwards.

Yeah I think with regeneration its better. I think my first save on WMMA 3 I turned that off which looking back at it made it a little stale I feel like in a few divisions. Played that with every male division with GAMMA. My second save was a WEFF one and I had it on which went pretty well I feel like. A few years in there came like two really good ones up but they both had weaker chins which made it fun because some stand up chicks could ko em quick.

i have fighters testing positive for recreational drugs and getting suspended. but i have the suspension sense set too none. i asked a while ago how to fix this. someone said too put drug usage on 0 in the era options. i did this but people are still popping for it. is it bugged or did i miss anything else?

If it is, then the region’s athletic commission and or drug testing agency will be the ones administering both the drug tests and suspensions unless you have set the suspension settings for regulated regions to none.</p>

<p>The level and accuracy of knowledge of a fighter.</p><p> </p><p>

Set it to 0 and you’ll see three attributes, of unknown accuracy, described in terms like average, good, poor, etc</p><p> </p><p>

Set it to 10 and you’ll see every attribute perfectly accurate, down to a decimal point % figure</p><p> </p><p>

The more the fighter fights in game, the scouting knowledge will increase, and you begin to build a more accurate and more expansive picture of ability</p>

I can't remember if there is a way to do this. So I have partial contract delegation where the AI automatically renews the contracts of expiring fighters. Is there a setting where if I am simming through the week it doesn't stop me from simming to go back and finalize the contract deal? I just want them to sign the contract when accepted. Thanks.

<p>What would be the best way to setup a super fight between to current champions? I basically want to face Pamela O'Neill and Daniela Sadorra in a super fight since they both went 6-0 to start off and they don't have a great contender waiting that they haven't fought before.</p><p> </p><p>

I basically want them to stay champions and face off in a non-title fight. First I thought I should do it at 135 since theres no chance of anybody missing weight there. But if I move Sadorra to 135 for that one fight is the game letting her stay champion at flyweight? Also if Sadorra beats O'Neill it would be kind of weird for her to keep the belt... then I was thinking maybe to let them fight at 130 since I'm pretty sure O'Neill will make that, nobody could even put their titel on the line and it would be kind of fair to meet in the middle. Thoughts?</p>

How long do hiatuses ususally last? It says it is unknown in this case right after he announced it.

Not sure of the coded parameters, but I've seen as short as 1 year and as long as 3 years. I wish there was an option to turn them off.

What the minimum is a year and it could be worse?!

Wow... that sucks. :/

Alright so a little update here. I had the match already. I basically went for a Catchweight fight which for some reason was at 128 lbs. Couldn't choose the weight myself but I was happy with it. And like KholDrum said I could've had both titels on the line but I went for a non-title fight like I planned. Was really fun and worked very well.

Yeah. Could be possible they'll come back before a year, but I've yet to see it. :( In my main game I sim day by day and save after each one just so I can back up a day and "reroll the dice" when a fighter takes a hiatus.

Glad your catchweight fight worked out. :) I wish there was an option to have a champ vacate a title themselves instead of it being initiated by the organization. Just doesn't fit quite right with the wording "stripped of title" when my fighter abandoned the title to move up and win titles in multiple weight classes.

At least it's not like a superstar and it's "just" Osmosis Benn, although he did quite well. Don't think with the fights he lost that he could get the MW crown but I liked his place and he was kind of a dark horse contender.

How do you set that up anyway in WMMA 5 that the automatic save isn't happening? Didn't see the option so I rolled with the punches so far. But I actually kind of liked it. I "rerolled the dice" all the time in my two WMMA 3 main saves and it kind of took away from the whole experience I feel like. Love to have that maybe if theres an outrages thing happening... like a hiatus I desperately don't want to happen. But Idk maybe I would abuse it again and it's better to just keep it like it is.

Well but who would vacate a titel on their own? I mean in situations like that in real life the organisation has to pull the trigger on that as well I feel like. I guess in a situation where the fighter comes to you that he wants to move up and you give him the option to vacate and move up or stay that would be cool. To kind of give him the chance to make the move but I mean several steps along the way aren't in the game. :D

Iirc it's in your user preferences. But I'm at work right now so I can't check to confirm. Yeah, that's totally understandable. It's a fine line between letting the experience play out on its own and abusing the power of the editor and a save/reload system. That's the primary reason I like to run two universes. One I simply observe and let sim at night and while I'm away, and one where I create individual super fighters, write their background stories, control their careers as best I can, and basically play in god mode to shape the universe however I want.

In MMA, maybe because the sport is so young, it is indeed quite a rare occurrence. But in boxing it's the norm for fighters to move up weight classes and abandon their former titles as their careers progress. Just a natural result of it being harder to cut as much weight as we age. I suspect we'll see more of that in MMA as more high-level athletes enter the big leagues at young ages and go on to have long careers. Not a big deal, just a little thing that doesn't quite fit my desired narrative. :)

Yeah the champ doesn't lose the title at all, which is not only realistic, as it is what happens irl, but also the right way, imo. Rousey is preparing to fight for a dual championship at my next ppv, while Cris Cyborg will get the interim title on Ronda's former weight class. I plan on using Ronda on both Bantam and flyweight for as long as she's dual champ (assuming she wins the bantamweight title) so I expect her to fight Cyborg soon. I'm also having Matt Mittrione fight for the interim HW title as my champ, Lesnar, popped on a drug test and I have only used him once since (even if recently) on a title fight that he won on a non regulated region. While it was a great ppv with enough bonuses to not let the negatives of using a suspended fighter hamper it, they are still pretty significant penalties, so an interim champ will help and eventually fight Lesnar in a match i don't see Lesnar winning for the unification.

But they also have smaller gaps between them. And I'm not an expert but it seems like in MMA the smaller weight classes are kind of more accepted, have a better reputation and you can make similar money. In the UFC the only weight class that seemingly has a sizeable reputation disadvantage are the male flyweights and I'm not quite sure if thats because of their size or the lack of talent/personalities. Demetrious dominated that division for so long and people felt there weren't worthy contenders for him. And I would argue if he had a fun and apealing personality and could've gotton more fans behind him and his run, I think the division possibly could've been in as decent shape as the rest. But who knows...</p>

IRL that wouldn't be possible so it made it realistic for me to set it up this way to keep them both as champions.</p><p> </p><p> I could've also done it like you with Rousey that the winner gets both and defends them as long as they can but that would've basically made title fights in either division half as often as long as the double champ would reign. In the end it worked out great because O'Neill won the fight but it was actually real close and Sadorra almost took her out before Pamela won via submission. So it was a great fight, it shot O'Neill into another stratusphere while Sadorra didn't suffer too much. And a rematch could easily be set up in a few years. I would love to actually make that at GAMMA 100 if I could make it happen scheduling wise. And it was also my first womans ppv main event which made it also really cool and historic.</p><p> </p><p> But if you like the story and want to give Rousey the chance to be the P4P queen in womens MMA thats also super fun. The Lesnar story is hilarious btw and the interim title is very needed there if you ask me. If it wouldn't be Lesnar I would've just stripped him though. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>
