Blanchard started the match well and used her speed to really take control of the early proceedings, hitting Mercedes with a string of offence and even securing a 2 count with a stiff forearm smash. Eventually though, the experience of Mercedes gave her the edge as she managed to pull out a win after wriggling out of a German suplex and hitting a Bull Run to secure a three count. Hikaru Shida gave it her all, but Ayako Hamada ultimately proved too much for her as she hit a Hama-chan cutter to secure the win. Doom got a nice surprise win in the first round, but Ray is my pick to face Rosemary in the finals.

LuFisto vs Cheerleader Melissa

Outside of the main event, this is the toughest one for me to pick. Melissa delivered a great match last time out, and that's the deciding factor for me. It's definitely a coin flip, as I could definitely see a semi-final of LuFisto vs Ray happening.

Rosemary vs Madison Eagles

I feel like I'm going all in on Rosemary winning this tournament. My confidence in that is higher now than before, but I'm still keeping my fingers crossed.

Ayako Hamada vs Mercedes Martinez

Should be a killer match, but I'm thinking Ayako vs Rosemary is the better match-up for the semis.

The show opens with an excited looking Delilah Doom in the ring, Doom says that there seems to be people out there that believe her win last time out was a fluke and she just wants to tell those people they are wrong and they should believe in her. She also says that even people out there who wanted her to win probably backed Allysin Kay but look how wrong they were!

Finally Doom says that she is going to win tonight and then she will go on to win the SHIMMER title to go with her tag team championship, because Doomies never die!

This match started in a unique way as Doom tried to get her opponent to join in a “De-li-lah” chant, but after joining in for a few seconds Kay Lee Ray thought better of it and demanded the match start.

The pair showed good chemistry as the match went back and forth, the crowd showing their appreciation for both.

Ultimately though, the fairytale run of Delilah Doom continued after she hit the aptly named Delilah Doom's Excellent Adventure to pick up the win.

You won’t find many names more synonymous with SHIMMER than LuFisto and Cheerleader Melissa. This match felt like it belonged in the final but now it is guaranteed that at least one of them won’t be there.

LuFisto very nearly picked up the win when she had Melissa set up for a Burning Hammer but Melissa managed to wrestle out of it.

Cheerleader Melissa picked up the win in a hard fought match with a Kudo Driver.

Yet again, Rosemary set out to try and psych out her opponent. Eagles had to wait in the ring for her opponent who took forever to come out, then the smoke yet again filled the ramp before she made her way to the ring.

Eagles did her best and really managed to dominate parts of the match, but it all started to unravel when she set Rosemary up for a powerbomb and the Demon Assassin poked Eagles in the eye forcing her to stumble backwards straight into the referee.

While the ref wasn’t looking, Rosemary spat Red Mist into Eagles’ face before hitting the red wedding to pick up a win.

After the match, Rosemary sits on her knees laughing maniacally and tilting her head as she stares down the camera. The camera zooms right in, before Rosemary spits a little more Red Mist into it.

In the background you can see Madison Eagles being handed a towel, Eagles has to frantically try and wipe the mist out of her eyes while the referee tries to check her over.

As Ayako Hamada and Mercedes Martinez stood across the ring from each other, there was some concern as to whether the ring would be able to hold these brawlers or would they bring down the whole building in their efforts to beat each other.

The match was an absolutely brutal watch, Ayako throwing kicks while Mercedes threw punches and elbows and both refusing to give an inch.

Mercedes Martinez came agonisly close to a win when she hit a Bull Run, but seemingly out no where Hamada managed to lock in a brutal La Ayakita to secure a submission victory.

Winner: Ayako Hamada
Finish: Submission via La Ayakita

After the match, both women pull themselves up slowly looking completely exhausted. Mercedes looks furious as Ayako approaches her, but she seems to relax a little as Hamada offers her and handshake and bows.

The pair shake hands and the fans sound their appreciation for a great match.

Great show. You know it's a good tournament when any of the four semi-finalist could win.

Interesting angle with Mercedes at the end. She is such a great heel, but this hinted at her being a face going forward. Could it be that it's just a swerve and she'll cost Hamada her match?

Delilah Doom's blowing up brackets, that's for sure. Could she make a miracle run to the finals? Sure, but I'm thinking you want the best main event possible, and I don't think Doom gives you that.

I'm not quite sure how long-term Hamada is with SHIMMER for. If she isn't in it for the long haul, then it's possible her purpose was to put someone over in the tournament. I'm thinking that person is Rosemary

Welp, if I picked her from the start, I might as well go with it. You could almost say this tournament is Rosemary's baby (sorry).

I'm not 100% confident in this pick, but I feel like putting Rosemary against Melissa gives Rosemary the best main event she could have, though I'm sure you're tempted to go with Melissa vs Ayako as that would probably deliver the best match rating.

A lot of the credit has to go to the incredible Ayako Hamada, to put in the two best performances of the night in back to back match was truly an unbelievable achievement. We’ve yet to have the chance to sit down to discuss future plans for her but I’m really hoping I can convince her to stay but it may be tough since she has commitments with Reina and apparently Stardom have now tabled a bid for her to tour with them, so ultimately it will be up to her. We also debuted Toni Storm with her sitting in the crowd, which got a very good reaction. At just 22 Toni has an incredibly bright future, with her already achieving so much and her in ring work only getting better. Though I do worry a little about how much we’ll get to use her with all her other commitments and also if anyone will eventually snap her up on a written deal. The one piece of bad news this month was the injury Kay Lee Ray sustained just a couple of days after our big event working for ICW. Ray has a torn stomach muscle which is expected to keep her out for a month which means we will figure something out and see if she can make it to the next event or not, though the timing couldn’t be worse since we just made her #1 contender for the heart of SHIMMER title.
