The Cornellverse 1986 Thread

Recommended Posts

This thread is about the historical C-Verse mod I am currently producing. It's inspired by the CV86 mod for TEW08 that never got to the release stage, and I thought it would be interesting to play through the time period.

If anyone from the original mod team has an issue with this, just post in the thread and I can take action. This is my first thread, let alone first mod, so any tips or feedback would be appreciated. Also, I would like to request permission to use the CV77 mod as a base for some of the workers.

Thank you.

I'll be following along with this one. Feel free to take anything you want from the CV97 mod. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> I'm sure the CV70s mod team will say the same. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

<p>Thanks! I've found a CV77 company called Alianza de Lucha Libre set to open about '83 IIRC, so I can leave that for now. However, I can probably do that for the rest of the companies.</p><p>

By the way, I will move forward the debut dates of some companies if no one objects. For example, ALPHA (in Europe, from Derek's CV97) and Comix Wrestling League (a company for which I can give random luchadors bad superhero gimmicks) will likely be active in '86.</p>

<p>I've got a suggestion for the start-date of this. If you begin in Feb of 86, you get Rico Santana and Christian Faith right at the start of their SWF careers, in addition you can add Professor Nero to the SWF roster as he was there until April.</p><p> </p><p>

Combing through the Burning Hammer roster now!</p>

<p>Touché. TBH, I was thinking of putting it in May due to Optimus winning the Burning Junior belt in mid-April, but I was only thinking of that due to the original mod being set around a similar time. February sounds great, so I can just readjust the rosters for that.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

I haven't actually created anything in-game yet, I'd like to have a plan and wait till permission for the 70s mods is concrete, but I can tell you that my Excel sheet is <em>incredible</em>. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

The BHOTWG roster has the potential to be unbelievably talented... I've been playing them in my CV16X game for two and a half years now and I'd be tempted to give them a spin in the 80s too with some of the amazing talents they have. Though I may also give GCG a look too, they should also be pretty strong. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

An exciting time for Japan, for sure. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

Have to admit, I'm curious. My one criticism of GCG77 was that the Openweight division wasn't set up and that the company was clearly using "Junior" identification. The sister companies for BHOTWG and GCG in that database also had me thinking about if GCG had set up a women's division as part of the "bad decisions" Furusawa made.

back to a touring schedule

SHAME!

and set up a bunch of tournaments... and stables

Really, this database is just an excuse for me to do that. Personally, I was thinking I'd start off with SWF. It's too tempting to resist Strong, Dread, Nero and a Christian Faith unbeaten streak.
