Potential historical mod (Opinions and suggestions)

Well. It's something that i wanted to do. I wanted to try an era that no one else have covered before.

 

Before i ask any mod creator's permission to use of his/her/their mods. I would like to see your opinions.

 

What would you like to see?

<p>I've done some legwork on an '89 mod... I'd happily give it to you if it's something you'd like to build on. It's a personal favorite year of mine. I created WWF, JCP/NWA and did some early work on USWA too...</p><p> </p><p>

I know '93 is always in demand. '84, a la Death of the Territories, and anytime between 08-12 would probably get a lot of buzz as well.</p>

JCP were marketing themselves as the "NWA" and officially re-brand as WCW a short time later. George Scott was brought in to book and he brought in Steamboat leading to the Flair/Steamboat trilogy and transitioning to Funk/Flair. Muta was coming in and Sting and Luger were getting shot up the card. The Road Warriors had just gone bad by spiking Dusty's eye (causing Dusty to get canned as booker)...</p><p> </p><p> A lot of classic JCP guys (Arn, Tully, Schiavone, etc.) saw the merger as bad news and fled to the WWF which was in the midst of the Mega Powers on top and guys like Rude, Bossman, Perfect, etc. were rising up the midcard. The WWF tag team scene was insane at this time too...</p><p> </p><p> The USWA didn't technically begin until a little later in the year (I had the mod start in January so the user could book the Rumble and Flair/Steamboat from the beginning). That said, I think it made more sense to make them an active promotion since Texas and Memphis were pretty deep in talks by this point.</p><p> </p><p> As you can see, my love of the time period was pretty genuine.... I just find the process of modding a super grind and I get burnt out pretty quick.</p>

Then I've been looking for a 2010 mod (When the Hogan era started in TNA) and I think it would be awesome since TNA could have been WWE's real opponent, it was the begining of the return of Joshi on the big scene. The begining of British Wrestling going world wild etc</p>

<strong>Please, Ruthless Aggression Era.</strong> Late 2003 or Jan 2004 would be a great place to start. There is no complete mod covering this era, which is a shame, given it is one of my favorite times and in over 2 years of TEW16 I think it is time for this era to have some love.

I’m going to agree with this. Around Summer 2000 would be really intriguing. You got WCW going down the drain, WWF on top with Austin about to return, and ECW struggling to stay afloat on TNN. It’d be really interesting to try to save WCW, make the ECW on TNN era better, or keep WWF on top.

Yes, but at that point WCWA is already dead.

 

I remember also that Lazorbeak made a 1990 mod, that it starts in January of that year. But it remained quite incomplete as far as i can recall.

In addition to this, May/June is the start of NOAH which can’t be emulated properly if a mod is to be set before then. That’s two more landmark starting points for major promotions.

2009 TNA was top notch. I love that time.

I started some time ago with a 2006 mod, but then other mods from 2006 appeared and I lost my motivation.

If I didn't have to do the whole thing alone, I would be willing to create either 2004 or 2008 mod.

Most of the historical mods are incomplete , missing a lot of workers from now

A mod built around the NXT/Network era, so either starting in 2012 when NXT becomes it's own brand with a goal to build to releasing the network in 2014. Or just starting in 2014 with the network release.
