IPW: "The Revolution is Dying..."

“The Hardcore Revolution, many fans see it as a movement, which is accurate, but it really started out simply as an Idea. When Phil Virbert founded Danger And Violence Extreme, no one in the industry really batted an eye, it was just another mud show in the Tri-State, but then something changed. All the sudden, people began to get some color, they started to use weapons, they cursed, and they even made penis jokes! The crowds didn’t love it, they WORSHIPED IT. Phil saw what wrestling could be, not just hardcore action, but a natural flowing saga of two guys who just want to bash each others brains out, not just tights and costumes. It propelled DAVE to the top of the mountain in the east coast, but when your on top, everyone else starts to hate you. First it was Phily Power, they were here first, so you can’t blame them for somewhat following trends, but XFW and RAPID, they were the impostors, the bastard children ready to take the throne for themselves. The Hardcore Revolution just went from a movement, to a war.

 

For four years, four painstaking, blood filled years, we waged a three front war against all our enemies, I was one of the last to be called in, but by good I wasn’t willing to let this fall, not after I already went out of the SWF. Eventually, we turned the tide, we beat them back, and we conquered, we did it, we were the only ones left standing.

 

After that it was smooth sailing, we stood tall on the ashes of the East Coast Wars, and we no longer were the best indie there, we where the best indie PERIOD. No one could hold a candle to us now, let alone back then, but every story needs a bad ending. I always wanted to bleed, but that was my downfall as much as all of DAVE’s, you can only bleed so much before you need to quit. First I retired, many people saw it coming, the writing was on the wall, but after so many others left or got injured, we only could hold out for so long.

 

DAVE died an odd death, what should have been a loud explosion of guts and gore, simply was a hushed whisper you told your brothers at the dinner table after you read it on the message boards. It wasn’t the death it deserved, but it still felt like I lost my baby, my child, I was empty. I left for a long time, maybe too long but what was I supposed to do, I wasn’t a wrestler, I was a broken man with a family to support, I had to leave, for them. In my absence, the world went to utter S#%t, Eisen was on top, no surprise there, TCW was dying and it outright deserved it, the indies stagnated, American wrestling was dying, and once again I was needed to save the day.

 

When I meet Gil and Grimm, we really did hit it off, we saw a market open on the west coast, not empty but starved of competition, and if done right, we could help the revolution rise again. So in 2011, we founded IPW, Invincible Pro Wrestling, Hardcore was back and better than ever, but almost immediately something awful had to happen. Gil had the money and passion, I had the wrestling know how and the booking brains, but I should have been paying attention. Brother Grimm never had a passion for this business, all he ever wanted to do was walk out with some ladies he found out back the arena, talk about how his crew ran the joint, and promote his dumb@#s rap albums. He was an idiot, but he was a powerful idiot with money and influence. After telling him for the last time Deaf Touch wasn’t going to hit Cindy in the face with a barbed wire bat for no reason, he walked, and when he walked, a lot of guys I started to call family did as well, we had another war on our hands.

 

Time has moved forward, but it all still feels the same. We’ve got enemies on all sides, GSW, CZCW, hell even AAA wants us dead, and as usual we don’t have a single ally. Sure the revolution was propped up by PSW, but they aren’t much more than a nostalgia act that died once the old DAVE holdouts moved to greener pastures. We’re alone, and so is hardcore, true hardcore, not that light tubes wrapped in barbwire and lemon juice c@$p Grimm tries to sell, but what made DAVE feel special."

OOC: So I’ve tried other diaries before, but I felt I have an actual plan and passion with this one, and with so many great diaries coming out now, I thought it be the perfect time to throw my hat into the ring. I want to warn people in advance, my methods aren’t consistent, and I often misspell cause god knows why, so if your willing to be patient with all that, then I think you’ll quite enjoy the story I’m about to unfold upon you. Also in terms of the West Coast War, my goal is not to win it, or try to become the biggest company, but rather tell a story, a massive story about IPW and the direction it is about to go.

 

In Terms of Presentation: I have many inspirations that will be listed here below eventually on how I organize and showcase this diary, but for simplicity, I would like explain the Table of Contents, essentially they do two jobs, they make easy access for new readers, as well as setting the tone and advancing the MAIN STORY, what's that you ask, well I can’t really tell you…

Each month will have a show, and a post recapping the title situation, the roster if any changes have happened, and the West Coast war. Finally, each chapter will usually, if not always, end with IPW’s supercard Invincibility.

<em>A month ago, Lil’ Henry was IPW Champion, the top dawg, the money draw, but now, the opening match! If you ask him, that's some straight B.S, and now Henry is convinced that IPW’s management is against him. Someone in the back has it out for them, and if Henry ever finds out, it won’t be pretty for them. Someone who doesn’t seem to care too much that? Fiasco Fierce, who simply going into Unbreakable to beat someone up, something that we’ve all come to know he's more than capable of doing, and even has agreed to a strap match in order to beat some sense into the big man. Can Fierce put another loss in Lil’ Henry’s record, will the powers that be come out atop Henry again, or will will Henry make Fierce regret ever agreeing to being strapped to this raging monster.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<em>For someone who throws around curse words like there clotheslines, Hustle Muvva is one of the most popular men in IPW. He’s a former Heavyweight champ, a former Californian champ, and with Cindy by his side, champion of the world, if you know what I mean. Now the microphone master has a new goal on his mind, removing the Dark Watch from IPW. After witnessing one too many beat downs by their hands, Muvva announced that the Dark Watch where “Little b@#ches with mask and makeup from hot topic.” Despite all this, The Dark Watch are nothing short of ticking time bombs, they’ve had success, and left carnage in the ring before, but it’ll be something else if they ever make a move on the IPW title. Now Muvva has to pay the piper, as he prepares for a long, uphill battle, with wrestling's most deadly cult. Babau is part of the high flying devils that makes up the Night Terrors, so if Muvva wants to survive, he’ll have to keep this demon grounded. Who will score the first point in this conflict.</em></p><p><em>

<em>Unlike the other matches on this card, this match isn’t a redo of last month, it's a redo of the last several. Feuding over the Californian title, both Bright and Outlaw have beaten absolute lumps into each other, and it's now time to settle the score. There isn’t honor or money to win or lose here, just the second greatest prize in professional wrestling, and isn’t that all you need? Bright, the former NFL tackle, The Outlaw, the face of Parts Unknown, it’s as much a hoss fight as you could ever ask for.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<em>Viva La Raza! The Mexican Hardcore Killers, some of the most crazy S-O-Bs IPW has ever seen grace its tag team division. When they step into the ring, the only way you seem to leave is on the mat, or six feet in the ground. Last month, they dominated the reigning tag champs Barnaby and Rudge, leaving the now former champs in a bloodied mess. Speaking of Barnaby & Rudge, the high flying duo is going to have to go to places they’ve never went before in order to add a second title reign to the history books. Many commentators have said that they have been too soft, too light, too cocky in the face of the M.H.K, and if they want to win those titles back, they’re going to have to swing for the fences, both figuratively, and literally.</em></p><p> </p><p>

IPW Heavyweight Championship match</strong></p><p>

<em>Frantic Ali is a 4-time IPW champion, no other man to hold onto this gold can say that, and the only one even close to that number is Lil’ Henry, which might explain the power bombs he would give Ali at last months Christmas Chaos. Regardless, Frantic Ali is quickly becoming the heart of IPW, the very fabric which holds it together, but standing in his way now is the exact opposite type of being, someone not quite human. Aldous Blackfriar doesn’t simple hate IPW, or its fans, he hates the entire wrestling world, maybe even the universe. He and his Dark Watch have crusaded against IPW since the beginning, but thankfully, every time they’ve almost kill the company, they are stopped. After being so far away from the title hunt, and knowing well of Ali’s weakness after last months main event, you have to wonder if Blackfriar is going into this match with confidence, perhaps too much confidence. The Dark Watch has made many IPW wrestlers cower in fear, but that fear can create anger, and anger, here in IPW, can mean bad things happening to you. With both competitors having enemies on all sides, both men will have to put it all on the line in order to be called “The Champ”.</em></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

The Mexican Hardcore Killers, seem like the best tag team right now on IPW, Nemesis made the right move by stealing them away from Grimm, and watching the two rosters, even if GSW took more of the original IPW roster, I feel IPW got the better end of the deal, they were forced to find new talent who ended up being better, and they stole GSW premier tag team.

Fierce then begins to brawl with the big man, gaining the advantage for about four minutes until an ill-advised lariat attempt is countered into a massive pounce from Henry, nearly sending Fierce out the ring if only he weren’t tied down to his assailant. Despite the setbacks, Barnaby and Rudge start to single out Sanchez Villano, taking him down with quick ariel and springboard moves while pushing off E-Z when he tries to intercept. Going for a double superkick goes horribly wrong as Sanchez gets a quick burst of energy giving the high flyers a double clothesline in response. E-Z pounds on Rudge, sending him outside with a superplex. Frantic Ali simply walks out with belt high in his hands, showcasing the gold to all that can see. It seems Blackfriar wasn’t kidding in his pre-tape, as he actually demands both a handshake and the belt from Ali, who simply gives him both a middle finger and low blow as a response. </em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em> Frantic Ali and Blackfriar share a good amount of technical showcases in this match up, as it seems early on the cultist mistakes the champ for simply another hardcore brawler. Not to say there isn’t some hardcore moments, as Frantic takes a number of kendo sticks, a chair, even a table to Blackfriar, and takes some punishment in return. The climax of the match sees Aldous roll out the ring to everyone's confusion, then gasps of horror ring out as he exposes the mats on the outside, the concrete below his new weapon of choice.
