So Man O'War struggled in his first match as defending champion. Which looking at things, I wish I plugged someone else in as the first champion and let Man O'War develop his own skills long term, however I am pleased with the character. Something I wanted to do with him, was pull him out of just being that decent midcard hand. He may very well end up returning there, but he will be bringing back some name value at the very least.</p><p> </p><p>

Meanwhile John was spot on with literally every comment. I completely agree it is hard to book a monster who isn't winning all the time. I look forward to the predictions coming forward as things start to stabilise and be less predictable.</p>

So before the show Lanny Williams takes Rob Edwards under his wing. This is perfect and something I had planned. I have had Lanny Williams and Rob Edwards on rosters together two other times, and every time Lanny Williams takes Rob Edwards. It took a little longer than I wanted, but it is also why Rob Edwards first ever match was with Lanny Williams, and seeing them click again. Meant I put them in an angle together. </p><p> </p><p>

Everyone got the matches correct, but didn't predict the best match of the night. Which is tough when they are so close to each other. Man O'War being an unpopular champion is certainly something I agree with and even though he performed better this week, if I had to do it all over again he wouldn't be carrying the belt.</p>

Once again a big thank you to John Lions re-imagined version of Man O'War which shall debut during the next show.

 

What a disappointment that this last show was, whether due to my overbooked mess or just down to the wrestlers themselves. I expected so much more as I move Devilfish & Pumpkin Jack into the title scene. At least it keeps Man O'War looking like a decent option. Tombstone & COLT also disappointed as I looked to push them together for just something to do. That idea is scrapped and now the next show will have a decent overhaul as a result of the poor week this week.

Firstly it has been so rewarding doing this diary. Even though I struggled with last weeks matches in terms of performance. I am enjoying writing the diary and the new format is rewarding as I feel it is polished, without being too much work involved as I write up the matches.

 

Toa Samoa vs The Knights Temple

While I could see the Knights picking up the win since you are a little thin at face teams, I think the Samoans get a win to establish that they are a credible monster threat.

 

The plan was Toa Samoa to win the match, until King Maleitoa decided to show up high and have to be sent home, and subsequently to rehab as a result of his drug addiction. I did want to keep the Monsters strong, but as you mention I needed a strong face tag-team which I address later on.

I agree, if I could do everything over again Harry Simonson and his storyline would be with the King of WKA title and Duke of WKA would be swapped around. Simonson is a guy I love as a generic babyface who can carry in the ring. He has been my rock in this diary.

 

Boo overperformed while Tombstone underperformed. I see you rewarding the guys who have shown up for you in the ring.

 

I can see your line of thinking, ultimately the only reason Tombstone went over is that he is a younger talent and a better long term prospect at the top of the card.

 

Tough call, but I don't see Man O'War and Pumpkin Jack being the cohesive unit that DevilShark would be.

 

As I said the shake up changed things in my mind after Pumpkin Jack and Devilfish put in a terrible performance. That and the render you provided made me want to make a statement with Man O'War being the champion. So he comes away with a rather unlikely victory this week.
