MJStark Posted January 6, 2019 Share Posted January 6, 2019 FROM THE DEPTHS A jhd1 & MJStark Joint W/H TheEnforcer Introducing a brand new fictional historical mod set in 1991 from two of the original ThunderVerse team (with some rendering & ideas from a third). Whilst this mod takes some inspiration from the doomed ThunderVerse:VICE project it is largely the brainchild of myself and jhd1 (although it currently uses an unedited version of the ThunderVerse locations) and is an entirely new universe to play with. However, I'm not going to go into a long introduction of the mod, because as the title says, this is the BETA edition, the mod is in the final stages... however it's been in those final stages for nearly a year!! Myself & jhd1 have both had very busy years and, with the best will in the world, hunting for spelling errors, date inconsistancies, name changes & the like is a long process with only two pairs of tired eyes Which is where you all come in! We're releasing this mod as is, and encourge folks to let us know any issues as they see them. jhd1 Posted January 6, 2019 Share Posted January 6, 2019 Just a quick note that the LLE starting storyline "Desperately Seeking Fabienne" which brings up an error when starting a new game should have Matthieu Demers and Fabienne Capelle on Side 1 and Matthijs Van Leur on Side 2. I've been toying with ACW and PPLL, so far my two favorites roster wise (although I wish PPLL had an alternate a little bit more modern logo, but thats's just me)</p><p> </p><p> Some things I've noticed so far:</p><p> </p><p> -Jeff Bennett has no bio</p><p> -Jemuzu Obaton has no bio</p><p> -I don't know if it's intended to be that way but the "Luchadoras de Mexico" logo has no letters on it.</p><p> -Also there are some minor things with spanish names like: "Rey del Lince" should be "Rey Lince", "El Rey Muertos" should be just "El Rey Muerto", "Rayo Rojo" instead of "Rayo Roja" and some more... this always kinda bothers me as a native spanish speaker <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> if you want I could make a list of correct names for the mexican and spanish workers and send it via pm. </p><p> </p><p> Thanks for the great work!</p> Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

As MJ said in his introduction, this mod really spun off from the ThunderVerse 1980 mod which we started a few years ago but which became an unwieldy beast that looked like it would never get finished. The new From The Depths universe allowed us a bit more freedom to change things up, try new things and play around a bit more so was a lot of fun to create. The new universe should hopefully benefit from the experience of the seven years of ThunderVerse modding so although it is classed as a beta, that's primarily to address minor cosmetic issues rather than wholesale changes being required. That's the plan at least!</p><p> </p><p> I should probably add two things at this point; although the mod is distinct from the ThunderVerse the two do share some renders (we've got over 5,500 worker pics between the two mods, so it's not surprising we needed to reuse some of the facial structures!) but many are also in the Cverse so hopefully no one will mind that. The other thing to state is that the release of this mod, either in beta or final form, does not mean that you'll never see the ThunderVerse again.
