milamber
Being The Elite Ep. 156 - Road to Fyter Fest Ep. 2 - Good promos, especially Darby Allin. Yuka Sakazaki vs Riho vs Nyla Rose announced for Fyter Fest.
Greylocke
They went and saddled Yuka and Riho with Nyla Rose? Bah!

They'll likely have to put her over too, since she's the only confirmed full-time roster member out of the 3. Not that I'm against them putting over the full-time roster, but do they really have to feed these 2 to their worst female performer? She's was easily the weakest of the 4 in that DoN match.

Here's hoping I'm wrong.....

Riho is a selling machine and Yuka can pick the tempo up to keep it from being too slow. Think this match will surprise those that see Nyla as nothing but a gimmick hire. And I think she's owed a showcase match after they stole her heat to get the Kong pop.

Riho and Yuka are on part-timer deals and 2mos ago nobody had ever heard of either. So classic TEW situation when you sign Greg Gauge and can job him out a few times through the door and he'll just get over anyway so what's the harm trying to give a decent opponent the rub?
milamber
All Out sold out in 15 minutes. Just over 11,000 capacity at the Sears Center. For reference, All In took 30 minutes to sell out.

You don't want your gimmick to be "idiot company that leaves millions on table". It may sound weird, but in the age of the internet, you need to max out your demand or you'll get scalpers camping your ticket pre-sale and sale dates and buying everything up and reselling at an inflated rate. This has been a huge problem for acts like Adelle who tour rarely and draw very well. Don't work yourself into $10,000 scalped tickets you don't make anything off because you ran a building way too small.

I get that the Joshi match got great feedback, and more than likely is what they intend to do with the tag belts, turn them into a pseudo Joshi division.(Which actually makes a lot of sense if you look back on the most successful Joshi acts of all time. The Crush Gals, The Young Pair, Devils etc. All of the greats pretty much in that era got over as tag teams.)

If this is Kenny's idea, to pay homage to history and get a bunch of girls nobodies heard of over with the US audience, then I'm on board. The Final Countdown
Introducing women's tag belts would be a logical step, but I think it'd have been better to wait like a year or so in. That way the singles women's title would already be well established, and hopefully you've been able to set up at least five or six regular women's teams. Jaysin
Tony Khan's quote: “I want to focus on a serious main event picture,” he explained. “Both in the singles and the tag team, and then when we establish the women’s singles — ya know, this may be the first time that it gets announced, but just so you know — eventually we will establish a Women’s Tag Team title and focusing on the Women’s singles and the Women’s Tag Team title.” I don't think we'll be seeing the Women's tag titles anytime soon. Greylocke
And not to be left out, Kenny Omega joined in on juvenile twitter banter! Only to delete it hours later, possibly after Tony Khan told him to (pure conjecture). Anyway, Fyter Fest is clearly a B-level event. It doesn't look like there's going to be much consequences to most of the matches. In the last event, there was a title match, a No. 1 contenders match and a family feud with rich ready-made history. Here almost all the matches feel like exhibition bouts. The only one I really have high expectations for is CIMA vs Daniels. All the other matches contain at least one party that I don't care about (and a few I don't know). Since it'll probably also clash with another wrestling event that I'm more interested in watching live due to timezone issues, I've probably not be watching this one live and try to find a way to catch some of the individual matches on a later date. Fyter Fest is a joke thing on the concept so I don't know why 2 paragraphs need to be spilled about it. It's mostly to give an excuse for the boys to hang out in the tropics for some R&R, stay busy, but enjoy the summer before they start touring, shoot some stuff for BTE and maybe set up some TV stuff later down the line. This is what a house show is going to probably look like for AEW. Fight For The Fallen seems like a B-show to me. This is some fun wrestling thrown into a sun and fun vacation package. milamber
Fyter Fest is a fun gaming crossover event. Fight for the Fallen is a charity event. Both are free in the US ($10 everywhere else) and a good excuse to the rotate the roster and progress some feuds.

Kenny's issue was that WWE are streaming an Evolve event (featuring Cole vs Tozawa and Riddle vs Gulak) against Fight for the Fallen. I get his frustration at that but 99% of the time getting defensive or offensive on social media makes you look bad (see Seth Rollins).
