<div style="text-align:justify;">The two Rogue Squad men are on the hunt to get to the top of the tag division again. Vanzycha locked his Armlock on Shimizu, the latter had no choice but to tap. Just like their match in Sendai just weeks prior it was a pretty close affair between the two teams. Afterwards the current tag champs came down to the ring and it went absolutely crazy. Certainly Rogue Squad challenged the Gaijin Wrecking Crew to a titlematch at Anniversary but the team of Shikitei and Shimizu interrupted with a obvious reason.

Shikitei said that they has beaten not only the Wrecking Crew during the tournament but also the recently crowned tournament winners. The three teams left the ring with no decision made!

COMMENTS

Pavel Vanzycha: „Winning a tournament isn't going to be respected here anymore, huh? I don't care if those Kenka idiots has beaten us and the two muppets. All we care about is the trophy and the titles. It's a shame that they can demand a shot just minutes after we kicked their as*es.“

Ray Snow: „Shikitei had a point and Rogue Squad won the tournament. Obviously we're in a dangerous spot to defend our belts against two fierced tag teams. Not one, but two at the same time. It could be the first titlematch in WCG history with two challenging teams. Are we afraid? No. Are we curious? Sure.“

Omezo Shikitei: „Fukazawa, you won't dare to turn down my challenge for a 3-Way in Kanagawa!!“

WCG president Junnosuke Fukazawa announced that all matches for the 3rd Anniversary show are confirmed and the contracts are signed. Besides from the already announced matches like the World Heavyweight titlematch, both tag matches are now confirmed. It will be a history making tag titlematch when the Gaijin Wrecking Crew has to defend their belts against two teams at the same time.

WCG Intercontinental Champion Bunrakuken Torii is focussed just weeks before his next defense: „He's probably the biggest challenger I have ever faced in my entire career. I know him very well, he's a good guy in his heart. He should quit them and Gauge and join Hontai, the people would love him.“ Challenger Brandon Smith smirked and answered: „He is right, I am not a bad guy, I like a good fight and I think we two will have a really good fight on January 7 [..] That's it, nothing more to say.“

Former WCG Intercontinental titleholder Hitomaro Suzuki is very pleased with Eisaku Hoshino challenging him. „I'm very grateful [..] He's one of the biggest legends in our country and I won't take him lightly just because he's way older than me. He's so experienced, won them [titles] all over Japan. Beating him would be one of my life goals to be honest.“ Living legend Eisaku Hoshino acknowledge Suzuki: „He's a good kid. I don't have any bad feeling towards him. I challenged him because I think he's one of the best wrestler today and I need to challenge me. You know WCG is the hottest promotion in Japan to fight and I have to be a part of it.“

WCG World Heavyweight champion Razan Okamoto was the only one without any good words for his opponent: „I'm going to break him in two pieces. I don't like him, his attitude is not the way I like pro-wrestling and what pro-wrestling should be, so my goal is to proof anyone in the world who'll watch the show that my way of pro-wres is the right way.“ Rogue Squad leader Greg Gauge wasn't keen to answer any questions until the very end: „My contract will expire on January 30. Write that down, 'kay? I'm not into those pride-ish things like Okamoto said before. I'll win the match and going to take the belt with me wherever I will go, simple as that.“

„I mean I like to beat up some young punks“

MboU3Nf.png

Thirteen years of blood, sweat and tears -- That's the career of Hiroshi Morisue (40) who won them all at his home promotion called Warrior Engine XXV. We spoke to the "Mohawk Of Insanity" about differences between WEXXV and WCG and his titlematch at Anniversary.

Q: You joined White Canvas Grappling in spring this year making a name in WCG's subsidiary RISE.

Morisue: When I heard about the offer I was thrilled. WCG's idea of having RISE sounded very interesting, I mean I like to beat up some young punks and foremorst it was finally the time for me to show everyone that a death match guy can work, yaknow?

Q: Speaking of your home, WEXXV, what are the main differences between working in Tōhoku for WEXXV and working in Kanto for WCG?

M: The fans. At WEXXV we've some of the most blood thirsty but also very respectful fans, they're the best. I'm not going to knock down the WCG faithful here but I prefer the Warior Engine crowd tho. However WCG is way more bigger, shinier and with more money fitted than WEXXV.

Q: You're still undefeated in singles competition and also nobody has pinned or submitted you in tag matches either. What is your winning formula?

M: Being ruthless in the ring. My style is different to anyone else here at White Canvas. Nobody has bled and sweat like I did in the last thirteen years. My methods of fighting is to unorthodox for most of the guys here.

Q: We're heading towards the biggest show of the year with Anniversary in Kanagawa Stadium, which will be the biggest crowd WCG has ever seen. You're going to fight xDREAM's Motoyuki Miyake to determinate the inaugral RISE Openweight champion - Thoughts?

M: Miyake is a raw diamond let me tell you that. I'm not going to bury him, he's a good kid but I'm way more experience than him, stronger and more dangerous [..] He'll get his as* whipped by the "Mohawk Of Insanity".

Q: Thank you.

- Just two weeks away from the big Anniversary show, Razan Okamoto and Greg Gauge clashed for the final time in a tag team match. The current champion had the better end for his team when he was able to nail down Harker with his Brainbuster for the three. Afterwards Okamoto and Gauge had a stare down, it didn't get physical. Just a match prior it was a bit different when Brandon Smith bulldozed his way through Hontai and got slapped after the fight by WCG IC champion Bunrakuken Torii.

- Morimasa Kato and KATOU had their eyes on White Justice and tried to bully them all the way around. Kimitada Yanagita, The Dog Of War, got too emotional when KATOU poked him in the eye -- Yanagita grabbed a chair and hit KATOU right in the face. Unfortunately it was Kenka who got the victory over the Main Unit.

"The Dreamcatcher" Razan Okamoto © vs. Greg Gauge [8th Defense]

<justify>Razan Okamoto is the most successful WCG World Heavyweight Champion in history of the promotion. "The Dreamcatcher" defended his title seven times in a row against the likes of Yoshinaka Taku, Hito Suzuki or Brandon Smith, with his eight defense Okamoto will face Rogue Squad leader Greg Gauge. The american won the White Canvas Trophy, delayed his titleshot to January to face Okamoto at the biggest show in White Canvas history. Of course this was on purpose because Gauge's contract will expire on February 1st and he threatened the company that he'll take the belt with him to the states forever. It's a clash of wrestling ideologies when Okamoto and Gauge will face each other in Kanagawa.</justify>

<justify>It could be the biggest night in Rogue Squad history when Brandon Smith challenges for the Intercontinental title just before his stablemate will have his titlebout. Smith reached the finals of the S-1 Festival but lost to Hitomaro Suzuki at the end. The big man from Minnessota showed a different attitude since then, a rather friendly attitude which caused some tensions between him and Greg Gauge. What about the champion? "Machine Gun" won his title back in September and still has his eyes on the bigger prize. His ultimate goal is to be a double champion after having some trouble with Razan Okamoto, but in first place he needs to get through a "Bulldozer".</justify>

"Genius" Hitomaro Suzuki vs. "Godzilla" Eisaku Hoshino

<justify>At Battle Final In Yokohama all people were shocked when living legend Eisaku Hoshino came down the aisle to challenge Hitomaro Suzuki to a match at Anniversary. The former Intercontinental Champion accepted the challenge, amazed by the opportunity to have a match with the 44 years old "Godzilla". Hoshino made it pretty clear that he hasn't any negative feelings towards Suzuki, it's just a big challenge for him to have a fight with one of the most decorated wrestler in WCG history. Can Suzuki take the legend down or is Hoshino going to "Godzilla Plunge" him to death?</justify>

WCG president Fukazawa announced the first ever Three-Way Tag Team titlematch for Anniversary. The rules? The first fall wins here.

OWARI were the best tag team in WCG when they lost the tag titles one year ago at Anniversary. The two lost match after match afterwards which caused real heat between the friends and lead to an aggressive attack by Azumamaro Kita. A match was scrapped when Kita was injured but he came back and attacked Narahashi after the latter lost a IC titlematch against Bunrakuken Torii. A victory over the former friend could catapult the winner up the ranks.

<div style="text-align:justify;">It was a slugfest between Tobei Sugimura and El Mítico, both men hammered each other with forearms, lariats and elbows to nearly unconsciousness. The mexican bulked up and slapped Sugimura out of the ring with a series of brutal shotei's which caused that Isamu Kijimuta had to fight on his own. Being isolated in the squared circle wasn't easy, Kijimuta fought the JackalZ back once but eventually got caught with strikes and the northern lights suplex which took his lights out.

<div style="text-align:justify;">It's sad to see the most decorated tag team in White Canvas history have such a beef. Kita attacked Narahashi after their failed to win matches since they lost the tag straps. Azumamaro got injured, came back and attacked Narahashi for a second time after his titlebout with Bunrakuken Torii. Since the first attack Fujio Narahashi refused to speak about the break up, instead he showed what he thinks about Kita right now: It was a brutal affair, devastating strikes from both competitors and a real bruising contest. Narahashi reached the ropes when Kita had him in the Cross Armbreaker and just moments later he took Kita's head off with a Lariat to end the match abrupt with a pinfall victory. Narahashi reached out his hand to Kita, but the latter refused and went to the back very angry and upset.

<div style="text-align:justify;">When you hear about White Justice you would think about their quest against B.T.U. at the beginning of WCG's era, their emotional tag title win and many other moments - Yes they're WCG legends already. Someone wants to be a WCG legend in the future and making a name for himself against the legend's today: KATOU. The former Gidayu Katou joined Kenka last year, attacked Bunrakuken Torii and now has his eyes on Sarumara and Yanagita. Yanagita and Kato had their beef outside of the ring while KATOU and Sarumara punched each other in the middle of the ring and to the surprise of the crowd KATOU striked Sarumara with multiple forearms and finally took him down with his dangerous Lariat for the three. KATOU's biggest career victory on a big stage!

<div style="text-align:justify;">Accompanied by his stablemate Taheiji Konoe, Yoshii Shiomi was motivated to get his first ever singles championship right here in Kanagawa. Junior champ Billy Robinson, who was a great successor of the injured Japanese Phoenix, acted pretty smart when he shifted the fight to the mat where he has definitely the advantage over Shiomi. However Shiomi's nickname isn't "Sublime" for no reason - The masked man overcame Robinson's mat wrestling aspect and flew around the ring and took the englishman out with a plancha over the top rope. Shiomi seemed to be on the winning street when he had his opponent in his Sublime Crossface, nevertheless Robinson with his great awarness managed to turn around and got Shiomi in his Crucifix for the win.

<div style="text-align:justify;">A match full of hate between the two teams. On the one side you've got Tadakuni Toshusai and his friend Gonkuro Kamioka, on the other side it's Burning Hazard's team of Heihachiro Sakai and Brute Kikuchi. The Burning Hazard team attacked Toshusai multiple times beforehand which made Tadakuni unfathomable angry. It was no surprise that Toshusai attacked his nemesis before the bell, causing a anarchist vibe to the match. In no minute of the match it felt like it was a normal tag match, more so a match with tornado rules or no rules shouls I say. Toshusai attacked Sakai with a wire of the tv cameras and choked him, but he simply couldn't get the job done in the end. It was Sakai who grabbed the victory when he nailed Kamioka with his Sakai Suplex to the mat, Kikuchi prevented Toshusai from interfering the pinfall.

<div style="text-align:justify;">For the first time ever a WCG titlematch was decided in a three way match, the first pinfall was guaranteed for the victory. There was some heat over the last months between the teams, sharing victories over the others and gold, too. With six man running in the ring it was obvious that some sort of chaos came into play. Pinfall attemps were interfered multiple times and double team maneuver on the agenda of all three teams. Every team was on the edge of losing when the other team came to rescue and disturb. It came down to Ray Snow and Sterling Whitlock in the end whil Pavel Vanzycha and Nigel Svensson fought with the Kenka guys outside, a spinning back fist later and Whitlock raised his shoulders in the air just in time. Snow had to punch him with another back fist to finally defend the titles in a crucial match.

<div style="text-align:justify;">Puroresu legend versus White Canvas legend. The thirty thousand fans at Kanagawa Stadium made the beginning of the match very special when they cheered so loud you couldn't understand a single word. Suzuki and Hoshino had a lenghty stare down at the beginning and had a slow start to the match with some chain wrestling going on. With a potential win over a decorated athlete Hitomaro Suzuki was fierced in his attacks and moves, damaging Hoshino's already hurt knee under loud boos from the crowd. Hoshino may be ten years older than Suzuki but equipped with a heart full of fighting spirit "Godzilla" came back from the dead to score several near falls over Suzuki. "Genius" hit a knee strike to apply his Suzuki Lock, however Hoshino managed to hurt Suzuki with forearms and elbow strikes, but the Godzilla Plunge wasn't the move to win the fight.

It was time for the Nuclear Death Bomb, a move Hoshino only used six times in his 26 career years! Suzuki had no chance, the Death Bomb put him to sleep and the three count was only a matter of form. After the match a visibly dissapointed Suzuki was hugged by Hoshino, the latter raised Suzuki's arm's and both got a big pop from the crowd.

<div style="text-align:justify;">It could have been one of those unforgettable nights, but it wasn't meant to be. Bunrakuken Torii had the crowd on his side and the momentum to overcome a behemoth like Brandon Smith on such a big stage. The Rogue Squad Bulldozer always slipped when he was in a big match like that, regardless who his opponent was.. Not this time. The american and Torii fought like real warriors from left to right, right to left and more. Carried by a loud crowd Torii felt like he already won the fight after he nailed Smith with a German Suplex for a close near fall, followed by a Flying Forearm off the top rope.

Not this time.. The big man rised from the dead, hitting a big lariat to catch Torii out of the sky which smashed the champion out of the ring. Torii has land on the guardrail clearly hurt after this bump. Smith went on for the kill, he threw Torii against the ringpost and nailed him down with a Backdrop Suplex. Back in the ring it was an easy task for Smith to beat Torii with the Tombstone.. not this time. Torii wobbled, Smith released him and the champ hits his Spinning Forearm Smash only to get bulldozed by another lariat.. It was finally over, the Tombstone sent Torii to the grave.

<div style="text-align:justify;">A battle of wrestling philosophies, Japan versus America, good versus bad, Okamoto versus Gauge - The leader of the Rogue Squad promised to win the title, leave WCG and going to the united states with the prestigious World Heavyweight championship, it would be a major bummer for White Canvas if Gauge can beat the long time champion. Okamoto felt it was personal, he rushed Gauge at the bell with a high kick to the face and hit multiple elbows and forearms to Gauge, who left the ring to catch a breath. What was different to other matches was that Greg Gauge wasn't focussed on being a cheating wrestler, he concentrade his abilities on doing just wrestling. So it was not a surprise when Gauge got the upperhand over Razan Okamoto when he showed his great athleticism combined with precise attacks on the limbs.

Gauge has one problem, he's just too confident. He wiped his shoes over Okamoto's head, showing him that he already has beaten him in this match which was a major mistake. Okamoto got angry, slapping Gauge around with shoteis only to get caught by a superkick. The american put "The Dreamcatcher" to the mat with a Piledriver, his father's finishing move, but Okamoto raised his shoulders at two. The Proton Lock should be the key to his first titlewin in WCG, however Okamoto was able to counter every Proton Lock attempt to the delight of the WCG faithful. Okamoto hitting a Senzai Knee Strike out of nowhere smoothed his way to his 8th title defense. Gauge got dizzy after another knee strike and was finally beaten with the Brainbuster suplex after thirtythree tough minutes of wrestling.

COMMENTS

Razan Okamoto: „I said it before and I say it again: I knew it. Gauge's little mind game's were like a boomerang for him I guess. What's next for him? He said he's out of contract soon, right? I hope WCG will offer him an extension, I like being in the ring with him when he wrestles like a man with pride. That was my 8th defense tonight and I'm real happy being the champion. I don't know what's next for me, maybe aiming to win the S-1 for the first time in my career? AND being the champ at the same time?“

Brandon Smith: „Do you see this beauty, Torii? I destroyed you in front of your people, how does it feel, huh? It smells like a win in here.. [..] Man you're a tough b*stard Torii but you won't get near this title anytime soon after your performance tonight.“

Eisaku Hoshino: „That was good, right? Eight weeks without a match was too long for me.. And then having a match with a genius like Hitomaro Suzuki was too much, I have to rest. I'm not too old to have matches here in WCG but I have to be more careful, I'm not getting younger. I had to hug Hito tonight, he was so good and I thought about teaming with him in the future. Is that a good idea chaps?“

Billy Robinson: „That was a tough one, huh? Man in front of 30,000 fans was something but I was born to be in that very ring with that title around my waist and representing the junior division of WCG. I'm ready for the next chapter being the champ.“

Motoyuki Miyake: „I'm happy. It was my dream to be a champion in WCG and now I am a champion. Being the champion of RISE means something, it means you have to be careful because your next challenger may be from outside the company, faster and younger than you or more experienced like Morisue was. I'll put this title above all others in WCG.“

Crazy good show! Did not expect Brandon Smith to win! I thought Torii would retain and Okamoto would lose to Gauge, ending the 3rd Anniversary show with a heel on top.

Superb show my friend! I'm so happy to see this hit THREE YWARS!

4. Naozane Goto, Hirokichi Yoemon, Kimitada Yanagita, Sotatsu Sarumara & Hitomaro Suzuki def. Kenka (Gonnohyoe Kada, KATOU, Maro Shimizu, Omezo Shikitei & Morimasa Kato) (12m41s) when Suzuki used a Suzuki Lock on Kada [57]

5. Burning Hazard (Taheiji Konoe, Zeshin Makioka & Heihachiro Sakai) def. Gaijin Wrecking Crew & Tadakuni Toshusai (13m02s) when Makioka used a Belly To Belly Suplex on Svensson [66]

6. Rogue Squad (Animal Harker, Sterling Whitlock, Greg Gauge & Pavel Vanzycha) def. xDREAM (Tanyu Toshusai, Kiyotaka, Motoyuki Miyake & Razan Okamoto) (14m55s) when Vanzycha used a Cross Armlock on Tanyu [69]

- A suspect atmosphere in the main event when Greg Gauge stepped into the ring, maybe his last WCG appereance for a long time. However all participants were full focussed, the Rogue Squad guys were super intense against the xDREAM guys which lead to a win for Pavel Vanzycha over Tanyu Toshusai. The pole challenged Razan Okamoto to a world titlematch, which "The Dreamcatcher" accepted. But what about Gauge? The american seemed to be a bit concerned seeing Vanzycha challenging, he left without telling anybody pretty fast and left his team mates alone in the ring.

- There's still a lot of hate between Tadakuni Toshusai and Burning Hazard. Sakai and Toshusai fought the whole match with each other while the Mad Dogs did the work against the tag champs. Just one day after a grueling three way tag title defense Nigel Svensson got killed by Zeshin Makioka. Of course the challenge was made afterwards when Makioka asked to have another title match with the champs, also Tadakuni Toshusai challenged Heihachiro Sakai to a singles bout.

- Although he gained the biggest win in his young career KATOU hasn't enough of the former INSPIRE vets like Sarumara and Yanagita. KATOU provoked Sarumara throughout the match and to the surprise of the crowd he took a microfon to challenge Sarumara to an "INSPIRE Rules" match at the next tour. Sarumara gladly accepted, called him moron for dipping his toe in foreign waters. The rules are simple: Wrestler have 5 points which will be deduct when they went for a rope break or got knocked down to the ground. A fighter still can win a match when he had lesser points when he submits his opponent fully or knocks him out ice cold.

- Just yesterday Brandon Smith crowned himself as the new Intercontinental champion, today he scored another pinfall victory with Bunrakuken Torii being a part on the opposite. Nevertheless the main focus was after the match when a unknown man attacked Japanese Phoenix at his commentary spot which lead to that Billy Robinson rushed to the unknown. The champion got caught with a kick to the face and was immediatly stopped by it, the unknown took a microfon and introduced himself as "Dark Phoenix".

- The veteran tag team of Awesome Kiyaru and Golden Scorpion challenged the new champions from JackalZ to a junior heavyweight tag team championship match in the near future. Mítico and Tanaka accepted the challenge with a friendly handshake. Also Mítico tried to convince Silver Tiger to join the JackalZ, but the latter refused for the time being.

6. Animal Harker & Ernest Youngman def. Kiyotaka & Motoyuki Miyake (13m49s) when Harker used a Stump Piledriver on Kiyotaka [56]

- Although the interactions between Youngman and Miyake were hotter, however it was Harker who made the pinfall. The inevitable happened when Animal Harker poked on Miyake's RISE title and challenged the xDREAM member to a titlematch at the next show of RISE in February. Miyake accepted the challenge, stated that Harker is a big opponent but he has no fear to fight bigger guys.

- "The Dog Of War" had no issues with beating young boy Tatsukichi Hino with his Yanagita Crush in under ten minutes. Afterwards Yanagita said that his biological clock is ticking, he's 48 years old, the oldest active roster member, one last title run would be his biggest dream.
