People ask me about NGW, but I don't mind being away from the spotlight. I still get to wrestle in EWA and the lighter schedule means I can spend more time with Geena now that she's back from Canada. I try to be equally unbiased when training the girls too;most dojos have preconceptions about how female wrestlers should look and act and talk, or they hold them to a lower standard than their male counterparts. Ripper LeStat, Menace and Paolo Gandalfini © vs The Czars (Dovydas Vidmar, Igor Ivanoff and Ivan Ivanoff)

Gandalfini began in control of the match with some actual wrestling holds, only to get overwhelmed by the teamwork of the Ivanoff Brothers who double teamed him to change the complexion of the match. A desperation maneuver allowed for the tag to Menace, who took out the brothers and went one on one with Vidmar. A sneaky vodka bottle shot was enough to take the big man off his feet, but Menace collapsed to the outside of the ring and a pinfall couldn't be made. This only brought out Ripper LeStat's hardcore wrestling tendencies as he used the environment against Vidmar in their ringside brawl, but was tackled by Ivan Ivanoff and hit with a Russian Roulette onto the glass shards before the brothers dragged him into the ring for Vidmar to hit his own Bratva Bomb finisher and score the pin.

Winners AND NEW NGW Open Collective champions: The Czars (Dovydas Vidmar, Igor Ivanoff and Ivan Ivanoff)

Double Dutch vs The Johanssons (with Signe Lytjohan)

The mere mismatch in size and power meant Double Dutch had to come into this bout with a game plan, which was exactly what they did. Using their size and speed advantage to avoid getting squashed, Van Heer and Van Bon also made the best of their experience to isolate Bam Bam and used quick tags to keep him guessing as they attacked from all angles to bring him down. Though it made for an exciting and suprisingly not-uneven match, this wasn't enough to also keep the massive Norwegian down long enough for a pin. Eventually, Bam Bam was able to make the tag to his much fresher brother, who assaulted the tired Cruiserweight champions and the finish saw the Johanssons hit them with stereo Northern Lights Bombs for a double pinfall.

Winners: The Johanssons

"Awesome" Wade Orson vs "Stone Cold Killer" Konrad Mäkinen

Though nothing was on the line for this match, Orson and Mäkinen still put on their best game face to deliver show-stealing performances and prove why they're considered two of NGW's most hopeful youngsters. A hard hitting, technical contest, this was full off rough suplexes and some intricate chain wrestling, peppered with stiff strikes in between. Neither man held back and both won fans over with their effort, resilience and fighting spirit, leading to a standing ovation for Orson who got the win as well as Mäkinen despite his loss.

Winner: Wade Orson

Geena the Warrior Princess vs Paula Edwards

This wasn't the first time Paula Edwards wrestled a match for NGW, but it was the first time she did wrestle such a high profile match on her own, carrying the EWA Female title with an impressive 15 defenses to her name. The massive bruiser was more than able to match Geena's intensity with her own freakish power, showcasing how much she's improved while wrestling for EWA. That was the story the match told as the evolved and upcoming Edwards clashed with the Hall of Famer, Geena's experience providing the edge that allowed her to walk away victorious but only after she had poured everything she had into this match to achieve that victory against a legitimately tough opponent.

Winner: Geena the Warrior Princess

Now left all alone, John Silver produces the all white mask of Captain Hero, meaning it's time to return it to the League of Heroes...

KRd8pBF.jpgh8WdOUv.jpgBJ5XbNO.jpgLFcPDbz.jpgi3AqEI6.jpgA0XDREq.jpg

The League of Heroes comes out in full force, including Jeri Behr and Megumi Nakajima. Once in the ring, they point towards the entrance and out comes...

EgqYnDk.jpg

"Captain Hero" Stig Svensson!

Received with a hero's welcome, Svensson makes his way to the ring, accepts his old mask and motions for a microphone.

Svensson:"This is a big moment for me, even though it's the rest of the League and Christopher Lister especially who is responsible for the return of this mask... I have been absent training the next generation of heroes in EWA and let me tell you, there's some amazing talent in that company... But I've also been absent because I've been fighting a losing battle against an opponent no wrestler can defeat... time. Nelson Frye has been leading the League in my absence and I think it is now time for me to pass on not just the reins but also the mask, as tonight I announce my official retirement from the ring."

Marat Khoklov vs Champagne Lover

It is no secret that Khoklov has been busy leading the NGW Dojo while Champagne Lover has mostly been busy with promoting himself and his Lovers Lounge show, but when the bell rings it's like neither ever lost a single beat. With no ring rust apparent, Marat is his usual monstrous self, moving like no man his size should be able to, while Champagne Lover's wrestling is on point, a potent mix of Japanese-style precision strikes, high flying lucha libre moves and whatever technical aspect he can manage against a man with the size and power of Marat. This is largely a "what could have been" scenario for End of the World, had Lover never lost the title to Cornell, good enough to headline NGW's biggest pay per view events, for now however it is given just under fifteen minutes and with Lover pressed for time to win before the time limit, he falls to a Moscow Lariat just seconds before the time limit bell.

Winner: Marat Khoklov

"Alpha Male" Edward Cornell © vs "The Gentleman Grappler" Nelson Frye

Semi main event time and with more time to wrestle their match, Cornell and Frye have a chance to pace themselves and really build this fight from the ground up, a test of will, resilience and a very physical bout that pushes both men to their limits. Following Stig Svensson's words earlier, Frye seems torn between the momentum boost of being named the next Captain Hero and the burden of responsibilities and expectations that come with it, meaning he plays a lot to the crowd and fights with an added sense of urgency like he has something to prove. Cornell isn't shy about playing head games and taunting him throughout the match and even steals a win using Frye's trunks to secure a pinfall.

Winner: Edward Cornell

NGW Women's title No Disqualification match

yNQekBM.jpg25UZG0h.pngNVsHmIw.jpg

"The Gothic Grappler" Fusae Etsuko © vs Joanne "J-Ro" Rodriguez

There was never really any doubt that this match would be epic. The only question was how epic it would be, given the two competitor’s latest clash and the standard that Etsuko’s matches against Geena the Warrior Princess set. Somehow, the two women went above and beyond, delivering a true spectacle of a contest and one that will most definitely live forever on not just the hearts and minds of NGW fans who saw it, but also in the history books as one of the best matches to ever be wrestled inside an NGW ring. This match had it all, from storyline buildup and drama to intensity and pacing, psychology, emotion all on top of some great wrestling on display from both Etsuko and J-Ro. The no DQ stipulation came into play, both during an extended brawl outside the ring as well as when Etsuko put her opponent in the Lullaby for what felt like an eternity before Rodriguez could break the hold. Another memorable spot was when Etsuko went for the Darkness Falls running knee, only for the exhausted Rodriguez to collapse on the mat and inadvertently avoid the hit. By the time the match hit the thirty minute checkpoint, fans were chanting “fight forever” and the big finish came with Rodriguez hitting her third J-Rocker of the match to finally keep Etsuko down and win the title after a spectacular confrontation.

"The Rock and Roller" Sebastian Koller and Viper McKenna come out and criticize John Silver for his picks in the draft, saying that all the title holders ended up with NGW and people in this show have nothing to fight for. Koller says he intends to rectify this by losing whatever little fat is left on his frame so he can compete and take the NGW Cruiserweight title from Christopher Lister. John Silver comes out and says that's not so simple, but for starters he can show what he can do in tonight's main event against a former holder of that title, Shiro Akuma.

This was mainly to get the fans going, as well as a showcase match to exhibit the talents of the younger, less exposed wrestlers. Orson did his usual thing of chaining hits into exciting brawling sequences, whereas Mäkinen, mainly known for his solid mat grappling skills, showed he's not only a competent striker, but a spectacular high flyer as well, a testament to his evolution towards being a much more well rounded worker. On the other hand, Giovanni Bruno seemed to have added some wonderful "this is awkwardly suggestive" technical grappling to complement his sleazy lounge lizard character, while Ricci had every base covered to the point where he might well be regarded as the standard bearer for the next generation of hot rookies coming in. Gandalfini brought the power, taking frequent pauses to flex his physique and with every man having his moment to shine, the match ended with Champagne Lover hitting the Lover Stunner on Harrison for the pin.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winners: Army of Lovers</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="pyf9Pt4.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/pyf9Pt4.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="PQHhWV6.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/PQHhWV6.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="LFcPDbz.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/LFcPDbz.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="BJ5XbNO.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/BJ5XbNO.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="25UZG0h.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/25UZG0h.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="TgQORsF.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/TgQORsF.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="bGfQcLk.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/bGfQcLk.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="NNIIGh4.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/NNIIGh4.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> The League of Heroes (Captain Hero II, Robert Howard & Adam Matravers) vs The Czars (Marat Khoklov, Dovydas Vidmar & Andryi Boronin</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> Boronin was obviously the unknown factor in this match, with the other five competitors having established rivalries as well as characters amongst them. Although the young Ukrainian ex-soldier and amateur grappler did have a brief stint with NGW, he was quickly sent to EWA once it was established in order to hone his chops and this match showed just this improvement within a year. His grapple-heavy offense looked crisp and sharp, a fact he seemed to emphasize over his military background as he methodically attempted to dismantle the opposition. Primarily a high flying luchadora, Darkness Cat found out that despite her size and power, Geena has no issue keeping up as she blended brawling and aerial moves into an exciting package. Cat was forced to change her tactics and upped the tempo in an attempt to wear out the veteran, but once again, Geena rose to the occasion and almost had the match won after Cat missed a smooth-looking moonsault. Realizing defeat was inevitable, Cat chose to at least lose on her terms and after spending a moment too long recovering at rinside, she left the ring and got intentionally counted out, much to Geena's dismay.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: Geena the Warrior Princess</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="pyf9Pt4.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/pyf9Pt4.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="yNQekBM.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/yNQekBM.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="NVsHmIw.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/NVsHmIw.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> Fusae Etsuko and Joanne Rodriguez are shown backstage, watching the match and shaking their heads in apparent disappointment, though no it is not made clear as to what exactly.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p></p><img alt="lfOxD6w.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/lfOxD6w.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="0eQDv0J.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/0eQDv0J.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> NGW Heavyweight title match</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="SoeMY3z.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/SoeMY3z.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="25UZG0h.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/25UZG0h.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="IjXtyuX.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/IjXtyuX.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> "The Alpha Male" Edward Cornell © vs Badass Bantom</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> Despite Bantom's absence, his feud with Cornell is not new and the same goes for their apparent chemistry in the ring. It's a pretty solid match too, with both men showing equal skill on all aspects of wrestling, though Lister seems to opt for a cleaner mix between outright brawling and stiff, precise puroresu-style strikes while Koller is most comfortable when he can sneak in shots using any foreign object he can get away with, such as the ringpost, barricade and even an exposed steel ring after he's removed the protective padding. The contest is pretty even, with momentum swinging back and forth as the two competitors trade controlof the match until Koller's ace up his sleeve, Viper McKenna, plays her part and distracts the ref as Lister hits the Kanobi Kutter. Garry Garret spends way too much time arguing with McKenna and not making the count, so by the time he realizes what's going on and drops down, Koller is able to kick out at two. The match continues and Lister tries to push harder, but another distraction from McKenna allows Koller to hit a low blow, followed by the Hamburg Rock City for the pin and Sebastian Koller's first ever title win since holding the Young Lion title back in mid-2012.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner AND NEW NGW Cruiserweight champion: Sebastian Koller</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="sma3Die.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/sma3Die.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><strong><span style="font-size:14px;">Show Rating:</span></strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="sma3Die.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/sma3Die.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p>

<em>Following Battle for Europe, NGW's two brands have agreed to a talent exchange going forward. "The Steppe Cowgirl" Anna Twirl, Konrad Mäkinen, Menace and Ripper LeStat will be jumping ship to Tuesdays and Proving Grounds. In exchange, Back to the Future will be getting "Mile High" Adam Matravers, "The Louisiana Pitbull" Robert Howard, "The Bratva Bruiser" Dovydas Vidmar and Jeri "Air" Behr. Despite both shows getting equally good grades and ratings, fans and critics agree that Back to the Future is probably getting the most out of this deal, as both the Czars and the League of Heroes are back together on the same brand, while the highly promosing Jeri "Air" Behr will be amongst the likes of Fusae Etsuko and the NGW Women's champion, Joanne Rodriguez.</em></p>

NGW Back to the Future (Weekly TV show)</strong></p><p><strong>

Held on Monday, Week 1 of November 2013</strong></p><p><strong>

Venue: New Knossos Amphitheatre, Greece, Europe</strong></p><p><strong>

Attendance: 4.694, Ratings: 0.72 (542.960 viewers), Shown on Continental Sports X1</strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>

Christopher Lister opens the show with a promo about his match at Battle for Europe, when the NGW Heavyweight champion Edward Cornell interrupts him to mock him for losing the NGW Cruiserweight title. Unphased, Lister says he knows Cornell is set to face Marat Khoklov in December, but there is still some time left till then and at this month's Reach for the Sky Pay Per View, he will wipe that smirk off Cornell's face when he takes his title from him!</p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="At6zmyr.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/At6zmyr.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p> </p><p>

Side by side, former rivals Fusae Etsuko and Joanne Rodriguez take turns on the mic, saying they've worked hard in order to make sure women's wrestling shall be respected, a not-so-subtle comment on Geena the Warrior Princess' cartoonish feud with Darkness Cat over a stolen necklace. Rodriguez ends the promo saying tonight she and Jeri Behr will show the world what women's wrestling is all about when they face Hall of Famer Viv Jacobs and her Wrecking Krew teammate, Paula Edwards.</p><p>

Joanne Rodriguez & Jeri Behr vs The Wrecking Krew</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

In a bout that had great wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, Rodriguez & Behr defeated Viv Jacobs and Paula Edwards in 10:01 when Jeri Behr defeated Viv Jacobs by pinfall with a Standing Moonsault.</p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="sma3Die.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/sma3Die.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p> </p><p>

In a somewhat comedic segment, Champagne Lover hypes up his stable of good looking, cocky teammates The Army of Lovers. The joke here is that the hyping ends with the announcement that Paolo Gandalfini is up next, wrestling against none other than Marat Khoklov!</p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p></p><img alt="IqChfad.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/IqChfad.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>

Paolo Gandalfini vs "The Moscow Mauler" Marat Khoklov</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

In a decent match, Marat Khoklov defeated Paolo Gandalfini in 8:30 by pinfall with a Moscow Lariat.</p><p>

Backstage, Captain Hero II cuts a promo to hype up his Reach for the Sky match against Marat Khoklov when Dovydas Vidmar walks in to interrupt. Tension rises and after some back and forth on the mic, the two men agree to wrestle each other in next week's episode of Back to the Future.</p><p>

Accompanied as usual by Viper McKenna and now carrying the NGW Cruiserweight title, "The Rock and Roller" Sebastian Koller comes out to cut a promo and brag about his win, saying he did what he promised he'd do, bring a title to the Proving Ground brand. He is interrupted by John Silver who points out that now a challenger is needed, which of course is a lead-in for him to throw down the gauntlet. This leads to a series of people coming out to throw their name in the hat and make their claim, so by the end of the segment Leon Harrison, Shiro Akuma, Roy Edison and Sergei Kalashnov are all out, clearly too many challengers in a messy situation that needs to be sorted out.</p><p>

The Army of Lovers take turns on the mic to brag about themselves and generally be an obnoxious group of good looking airheads, when Edward Cornell interrupts them. At first, Cornell mocks the group for its initial, short-lived inception in the past, but it backfires once he talks about Champagne Lover losing the NGW Heavyweight title; the Mexican gets on the mic to cut him off and criticize Cornell's shady title defenses, before asking him how that "Real Deal thing" has been working for him lately. With fans cheering and nothing good to respond, Cornell storms off looking angry.</p><p>

Backstage, Captain Hero II is preparing for his match against Dovydas Vidmar, which was arranged a week ago, when Lister walks up to him and offers to be his second at ringside. Initially, Hero rejects the offer, but Lister brings up the case of Robert Howard, who walks into the scene looking battered and bruised. As it is revealed, Marat Khoklov attacked him backstage as soon as Signe Lythjohan announced the triple threat match, forcing the smaller Matravers to compete against the other two bruisers and preventing Howard from even being there at ringside for him. The revelation is enough to convince Captain Hero II to accept the help and he walks to the curtain with a renewed sense of purpose.</p><p>
