Held on Monday, Week 2 of May 2013</strong></p><p><strong>

Venue: Berlin Metropolarena, Berlin, Germany, Central Europe</strong></p><p><strong>

Attendance: 4.398, PPV Buyrate: less than 0.01 (3.468 buyers), Shown on Euro Your Demand</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<img alt="wuo51A1.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/wuo51A1.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

The show kicks off with the NGW Heavyweight champion, who cuts a promo in flawless German to remind viewers that after his victory over "The Rock and Roller" Sebastian Koller he remains without a challenger. Starmageddon will determine who will face him for the gold, but that show happens in June so unfortunately for the fans, they won't be seeing him defend the title at this month's show, NGW Hard Times.</p><p>

"Stone Cold Killer"Konrad Mäkinen vs "The Vampire" Ripper LeStat</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Out of action since February when Shiro Akuma intentionally broke his arm,Konrad Mäkinen made a surprise return last month to not only deliver payback on the masked champion, but also sport a more muscular frame as he moved up to the Heavyweight division. After a rough welcome next to Stig Svensson and a loss to the Johansson brothers,Mäkinen wrestles his first singles match as a Heavyweight against Ripper LeStat. The Vampire monicker is not just about the ring gear and mannerisms; LeStat is bloodthirsty indeed. Between nasty strikes and trying to take the fight out of the ring, Ripper givesMäkinen a run for his money, but the Swede manages to keep the fight between the ropes and finally slap on the Swedish Grapevine on his opponent's leg for the submission.</p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner:Konrad Mäkinen, by submission</strong></p><p><strong>

Backstage, Sergei Kalashnov runs into the massive Marat Khoklov before Vidmar and the Ivanoffs appear from around to surround the Fresh Prince of Belarus. The apparent ambush however turns out to be a recruitment pitch, albeit a pretty aggressive one: join the Czars, or else.</p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p></p><img alt="pyf9Pt4.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/pyf9Pt4.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>

Hardcore Hernandez vs Emerald Angel</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Bouncing all around the ring like hyperactive toddlers on caffeine, Hernandez and Angel pull all the stops and go full steam ahead to hit each other with the most impressive, athletic moves they can muster. The pace is frantic and Angel misses a beat once or twice, allowing Hernandez to nal him with a Super Kick just as he comes in flying to end the match just short of eight minutes.</p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: Hardcore Hernandez, by pinfall</strong></p><p><strong>

</strong><img alt="pyf9Pt4.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/pyf9Pt4.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>

</strong><img alt="sbFUnpv.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/sbFUnpv.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="Dlqpgvn.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/Dlqpgvn.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="AhotWa7.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/AhotWa7.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Backstage, Viper McKenna delivers a promo on the situation of the Heavyweight Tag Team division; Cornell and Hossam may have failed to reach a conclusive decision in their match against the Nigerian Hit Squad at Walk Through Fire, but her team of Koller and Eriksson beat the challengers. Therefore, they are the ones truly deserving of a shot at the tag champs.</p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="PybIMT9.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/PybIMT9.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="nYdtjiY.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/nYdtjiY.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="wGTzFkZ.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/wGTzFkZ.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p>

The group's claim is challenged when the towering Johansson brothers walk into the scene, led by none other than former NGW Commissioner, Signe Lytjohan! The Danish manager of the Norwegian brothers lays out her challenge to sort things the way things are sorted in pro wrestling: inside the ring!</p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p></p><img alt="mwL0z0W.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/mwL0z0W.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>

Koller & Eriksson (with Viper McKenna)</strong></p><p><strong>

The Johanssons (with Signe Lytjohan)</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Returning from EWA to reunite with his brother, Bam Bam surprises Koller with how refined he's gotten while in developmental. Now more than a mere powerhouse, Bam Bam shows why he managed 14 successful defenses of the EWA Europa title when he forces Koller to tag in his bigger partner in Eriksson. Signe Lytjohan is right there at ringside guiding her team and calling out Eriksson's weaknesses as she notices them, eventually allowing the brothers to drag the Hall of Famer to their corner and work on him until Hercules showcases his freakish strength when he picks up Eriksson into the Hercules Hoist for the submission, wrapping up a dominant performance in just under six minutes.</p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winners: The Johanssons, by submission</strong></p><p><strong>

</strong><img alt="rCrbMWQ.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/rCrbMWQ.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>

</strong><img alt="SoeMY3z.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/SoeMY3z.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="04N0aQ1.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/04N0aQ1.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="cTU1ZCQ.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/cTU1ZCQ.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="yWLqNGq.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/yWLqNGq.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="UPg1dYS.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/UPg1dYS.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Backstage, the Real Deal are watching the match on a screen and it doesn't take long before things get tense between them. Roy Edison gets caught in the middle of it and forced to play pacemaker, but it's obvious the damage is there; the question is, are things beyond repair?</p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p></p><img alt="OMqWx1U.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/OMqWx1U.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>

Jeri "Air" Behr vs "Golden Delicious" Melanie Flyman</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Behr and Flyman are, beyond a shadow of a doubt, the top two high flyers in NGW's female division so their match delivers on everything fans would expect from these two: a fast, athletic, competitive bout full of jaw dropping moves, not unlike Hardcore Hernandez and Emerald Angel earlier. Behr's usual high risk style backfires more than once to let Flyman take control of the match, but despite obvious exhaustion, Behr pulls off the Standing Moonsault after ten or so minutes into the match, earning the pin after a hard fought battle.</p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: Jeri Behr, by pinfall</strong></p><p><strong>

</strong><img alt="At6zmyr.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/At6zmyr.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>

</strong><img alt="qwZB6cD.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/qwZB6cD.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="yNQekBM.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/yNQekBM.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

And let's not forget, the NGW Women's champion Geena the Warrior Princess will be defending her title against "The Gothic Grappler" Fusae Etsuko at NGW Hard Times. As the recap video package rolls, we see highlights of Geena's early days in the company before leaving for Canada, then Etsuko going on her undefeated streak before she got injured just days before Geena made her triumphant return to win the vacated title. The two clashed at Ultimate Challenge where Etsuko won the match but not the title due to a countout, before the Gothic Grappler went on to win the NGW Warrior Princess Challenge tournament to earn herself the upcoming title rematch, title versus streak.</p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="At6zmyr.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/At6zmyr.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p> </p><p>

<img alt="KRd8pBF.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/KRd8pBF.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="LFcPDbz.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/LFcPDbz.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="EgqYnDk.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/EgqYnDk.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Backstage, Nelson Frye and Robert Howard are talking to each other about their recent woes and what they should do to overcome them when Stig Svensson appears. The veteran joins the discussion and suggests the only way to succeed is to stick together. Reform the League as the unit it used to be, not the loose collection of friends under the shadow of Akuma's betrayal it currently is. At 41 years of age, Stig's glory days are behind him. He is not fit to lead. It is time to officially let Nelson Frye take the wheel.</p><p>

#1 Contenders match for the NGW Cruiserweight Tag Team titles</strong></p><p><strong>

Team Fly (Lister & Matravers) vs John Silver & Leon Harrison</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

The episode's main event is a tag team match to determine who will be facing Double Dutch at Hard Times for their newly claimed titles. Former champions Team Fly seem hellbent on earning themselves a rematch, but the veteran duo of Silver and Harrison is not that easy to overcome. Matravers and Silver do the high flying for their respective team, with Lister's technical skills and Harrison's brawling rounding up the match and slowing the pace when needed to keep everything together.</p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="N1zhldv.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/N1zhldv.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Once again though, Akuma isn't far and when he makes his appearance, he sweeps the leg of Matravers who's waiting on the apron. The two men end up fighting outside the ring and while Matravers seems to be winning, Lister is left with no one to tag in his hour of need and Harrison hits him with a PRIDE Driver, before tagging in Silver who comes flying with a Silversault before scoring the pin.</p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winners:John Silver & Leon Harrison, by pinfall after Shiro Akuma interfered</strong></p><p><strong>

I really appreciate how different this company feels and looks compared to saves that are still in the early stages of the default database and the mods. Your roster is really unique and as these first two shows attest to, you can't really predict what you're gonna see. Europe is such a fun place to tap into because I feel like its underutilized a lot on these forums, both the region and a lot of its lesser known stars. Keep up the good work!

Thank you for your words. Indeed, 16 in game years is a lot of time, this is my longest save ever so I'm happy to finally log it on these boards too. What's funny, people on that other forum don't know the world beyond what I've told them, so seeing guys like CL, Matsuko and Khoklov on my roster is not strange to them, they got to know them as rookies and saw them develop as I moulded them. It's the opposite here, readers know the world and workers but haven't been following the whole 16 years to know who's who and what has transpired. I try to make things easy for both audiences.

Konrad Mäkinen, Sergei Kalashnov & Paolo Gandalfini</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

The opening match sees heavyweight stablemates Bantom, Mallory and Eriksson defend their titles against the rookie team of Mäkinen, Kalashnov and Gandalfini. Interesting enough, Kalashnov has the experience to lead his allies but being the only Cruiserweight in the mix, eventually gets outpowered and shut down by the opposition. Mäkinen delivers another consistent performance as a heavyweight while Gandalfini, now a permanent member of the main roster, does his part but ultimately ends up on the wrong end of a Northern Lights Bomb from Eriksson, who makes the pin.</p><p>

The Czars</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

All out faction warfare in a 5 vs 5 match next, with the League of Heroes facing the intimidating power of the Czars. Rookie Cruiserweights Emerald Angel and Andryi Boronin start things off in a clash of aerial grace versus technical grittiness, with Lister and Matravers then teaming up against the young Ukrainian. After a near fall, the Ivanoffs rush to the ring and things quickly collapse into an all-out brawl between all the heavyweights. The fight spills to the outside, leaving Angel and Boronin once again to fight it out inside the ring until the masked one hits the Angel Fury for the pin.</p><p>

Aleksander Knyazev vs "The Rock and Roller" Sebastian Koller (with Viper McKenna)</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Koller's open challenge is answered by Aleksander Knyazev, former NGW tag champion alongside Cub Balowitz and now a member of the EWA roster. A skilled martial artist and grappling expert, Knyazev brings the heat with his aggression, unloading a flurry of fast strikes on Koller that sets the tone of the match; the two competitors trade blows in what feels more like a boxing contest or MMA fight rather than a wrestling bout, but Koller is able to turn the tables and hit the Hamburg Rock City on Knyazev to secure the win pro wrestling style.</p><p>

Hardcore Hernandez, John Silver & Leon Harrison</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

NGW Cruiserweight champion Shiro Akuma teams up with the NGW Cruiserweight Tag Team champions to wrestle against his latest challenger in Hernandez and the team set to wrestle Double Dutch for the straps at Hard Times. The in-ring matchups provide a teaser sample of what fans can expect and the action itself is breathtaking, full of high risk maneuvers. Akuma in particular shows little care for his own well being as he recklessly launches himself at his opponents, using his body as a weapon to take down anyone in his way until he pins Harrison with an Akuma Cradle.</p><p>

It's time for a very special edition of Lover's Lounge next, with the charismatic Mexican hosting NGW's top two ladies set to do battle at Hard Times. With three of the company's most popular and entertaining talkers on top of a heated rivalry leading to a much anticipated match, it's no surprise this segment is so good as Lover's subtle jabs fire up Geena's famed anger or earn him a snappy remark from the calm, collected Etsuko.</p><p>

Wade Orson vs Wael Hossam</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

It's main event time next and as brought up earlier in the show, Wade Orson gets in the ring with mat master Wael Hossam. Though stablemates, the two men seem to have no animosity towards each other. Instead, as is the thing with the Real Deal, they're all about in-ring performance and being the better wrestler. Things are off to a slow start with Hossam taking the rookie down and working on him with various holds targeting the back in order to soften him up for the Camel Clutch. The few times Orson is able to force a rope break, he can only get a little bit of offense in before Hossam masterfully grabs a limb and reverses to slam him back down on the mat and begin the process anew. This goes on for more than fifteen minutes, an escalating crescendo that ends when Orson somehow manages to hit the Bounce Back out of nowhere, literally bouncing back into the contest and pinning Hossam for a big win.</p><p>

A white psychopath who trained in Japan... Sounds like a Dick the Devestator regen to me. Well him or Lamprecht, but my guess is Dick.

Another solid show. I'm digging your use of development wrestlers to help put over your stars in some of these matches. Given your roster size, I feel like it's the best approach to help all of the mainstays keep their momentum up.

No no, Robert Howard is an original, game-generated worker, not a regen. I've spotted Lamprecht's regen as a German worker, no clue as to a Dick the Devastator regen. What really puzzles me is how come the Golden Dojo, GCG's school, trained such a guy. It doesn't fit their profile and in narrative terms, BBW had already folded while WEXXV never existed.

Thanks for the compliments. I'm trying to use developmental talent to avoid burning up big matchups and to keep things fresh for my audience on that other forum who've seen most already. It gives them experience and exposure while giving my main guys people to beat so they can stay hot for the PPV bouts.

Arlo Costa & Giovanni Bruno vs The Johanssons (with Signe Lytjohan)

The recently reunited Johansson brothers got in the ring with local talents Arlo Costa and Giovanni Bruno for the opener, with Signe Lytjohan leading the Norwegian big men once again. Bruno is an EWA developmental talent but Costa was making a one-night appearance as a nod to Italian fans who have known him for years as "Mr. Evilness" in companies such as EWCW and UCR, where he would regularly feud with "Captain Hero" Stig Svensson. The idea here was to start with two "hometown heroes" in the ring while teaming rookie Bruno with a veteran, but both Italian men were really, really off. It didn't quite take away from the match quality since it was a short and absolutely dominant performance by the Johanssons, but Costa and Bruno were lucky to leave the ring standing given their sloppiness on display for a full ten minutes before Bam Bam hit Costa with the Northern Lights Double Bomb for the pin.

Winners: The Johanssons, by pinfall

Moving on to more exciting stuff, Champagne Lover hosted another episode of Lover's Lounge with guests John Silver and Leon Harrison. The founders of NGW and now #1 contenders for the NGW Cruiserweight Tag Team titles held their own on the mic next to the charismatic Mexican, who still was the star here as he picked on his guests for becoming contenders thanks to the interference of Shiro Akuma during their match against Team Fly.

Marcello Ricci vs Emerald Angel

Another Italian talent and EWA wrestler in action next, the charismatic Cruiserweight Marcello Ricci went to battle against Emerald Angel. Both men had a good showing, with Ricci adding some nice variety to Angel's flashy aerial offense. Despite limited air time, both men had the moves and charisma to get the fans into the match and Ricci even picked up the unlikely win when he used Angel's risky style against him by playing possum to goad him in and then roll him up for the pin.

Winner: Marcello Ricci, by pinfall after a quick roll up

Backstage, Hardcore Hernandez was once again being bitter about his cheap title loss to Shiro Akuma when Team Fly walked into the scene. Christopher Lister told Hernandez he's not the only one who's got issues with the masked champion, a nod to Akuma's betrayal upon leaving the League of Heroes and how he's cost its members several matches, especially Team Fly, Matravers chipped in, saying Akuma cost them a shot at gold and now they're not scheduled to wrestle at Hard Times but he has a suggestion. Hernandez versus Lister versus Matravers, for a chance to fight Akuma!

Speak of the (White) Devil, Akuma was Viper McKenna's guest in the following segment. In a live episode of Viper's Moshpit, Akuma was questioned about his actions and any comments on the Triple Threat match just arranged for Hard Times, but the NGW Cruiserweight champion only cryptically responded that he will "be watching".

Stig Svensson & Paolo Gandalfini vs Konrad Mäkinen & Wade Orson

More Italian wrestlers for the audience to cheer as Paolo Gandalfini teamed with beloved veteran Stig Svensson to fight the pairing of blue chipper prospects Mäkinen and Orson. Gandalfini started the match in control of Mäkinen, who sold every move like it killed him before desperately tagging in Orson. Matching the Italian in power but posessing more experience, Orson turned things around forcing the retreat and a tag to Svensson for an interesting rest of the match as NGW's past and future traded holds before Orson hit his Bounce Back finisher for the pin.

Winners: Konrad Mäkinen & Wade Orson, by pinfall

Marat Khoklov vs Beast Bantom

Beast Bantom is one of the biggest, baddest, most muscular men on the NGW roster but even he can't match up to the Russian giant that is Marat Khoklov. This match had little to do with actual wrestling, it was two big, tough men looking to beat each other senseless as they brought their hardest hits to the fight. Bantom has been very vocal in the past about wanting a challenge and not squash matches against people smaller than him, which is exactly what he got in the Moscow Mauler. He may have bitten off more than he could chew though and in a spectacular finish to their match, former powerlifter Khoklov lifted the 320 pound Bantom up for a truly earth shaking Russian Legend Powerbomb.

Winner: Marat Khoklov, by pinfall

Quick cut backstage and the self-proclaimed "Fresh Prince of Belarus" Sergei Kalashnov was trying to strike up a conversation with fellow Belarussian Zofia Jankovic. Clash of personalities aside, the moment was also interesting due to Jankovic being a member of the Czars; Kalashnov seemed to refuse when the group attempted to pressgang him into joining, but Jankovic wasn't around when they first approached him...

The Ivanoffs

A four team free for all was the main event for NGW's go-home show before Hard Times and all four teams involved brought their A game to the fight. It didn't take long for things to devolve into an all out brawl, with Frye and Hossam trading holds in the ring as they sought to slap on the Royal Armbar and Camel Clutch, respectively.

IDTFoKl.jpgbGfQcLk.jpgISWyN1q.jpgBJ5XbNO.jpg

In the chaos, Landon Mallory made his way down to the ring to help his Outcasts buddies as Koller & Eriksson traded blows with the Ivanoffs. His assist was short-lived though, as he was shut down by a vodka bottle smashing on his head from behind, Dovydas Vidmar's trademark attack. Robert Howard joined the brawl and attacked Vidmar, the two men trying to slam each other onto the shattered glass. Already spent by the match, Howard found himself on the losing end until Lister and Matravers appeared to pull Vidmar away. With referee Garry Garret having lost control and TV time running out, he called for the bell and threw the match, the feed fading out as everyone fought everyone in and around the ring.

Winners: No Contest

<p>As always, predictions are welcome (thanks smw88).</p><p> </p><p>

I'm thinking of stealing a page off The Lloyd's decorated "NOTBPW A Game of Stones (and DeColts)" diary and add a little update after each monthly PPV, starting with the upcoming Hard Times. Given my roster's split into divisions though, running down the stars and champs of each is going to be a mess so I'll probably skip that. Champions and title lineages will be posted after each of the 'big four' PPVs (Ultimate Challenge every March, Starmageddon every June, Back to School every September and End of the World every December) and given the theme/charm of this diary, I'm thinking it would be more interesting to provide a monthly update with news from the rest of the world. What do you think? Would you be interested in something like that and if so, what information would you like to know about?</p>

<p>I would love post show updates. I love the way Lloyd does his post show champions — maybe do the same with the current chanpions, defense number, and past three or four champions? You recently posted a full title history for all, so just keeping it updated will be handy to keep track. </p><p> </p><p>

Maybe some post show booking thoughts? I try to do mine via narrative, but I love the way Lloyd does his in explaining why he booked it a certain way etc...</p><p> </p><p>

Also maybe a look at major happenings that month in the world. Major company title changes or signings.</p>

The Czars (Igor Ivanoff, Ivan Ivanoff and Dovydas Vidmar)

Former title holders (albeit with Kholov instead of Vidmar) and NGW Heavyweight Tag Team champions the Ivanoff brothers came into this match gunning for gold. Between them, Vidmar and the defending champions, the opening bout was a hard hitting brawl between six big bad men who wanted to hurt each other. No flashy moves, no technical wrestling, just pure force against force. Viper McKenna was ever vigilant, even sneaking around the ring to steal Vidmar’s bottle of vodka he brings with him to the ring, surprising the Bratva Bruiser when he reached out for his improvised weapon. Instead, McKenna waved the bottle with a smile from the other side of the ring and when he rushed to retrieve it, Vidmar accidentally knocked Igor Ivanov over, leaving Ivan all alone to get hit with the Northern Lights Suplex from Eriksson who made the cover for the champs to retain.

Winners: The Outcasts (Beast Bantom, Landon Mallory and Petter Eriksson) by pinfall, acter Viper McKenna interfered

Backstage, the League of Heroes is assembled in full force around beloved veteran Stig Svensson, who makes the announcement that he will be wrestling his final match for NGW in September’s “Back to School” show.

The Real Deal (Wael Hossam, Edward Cornell and Roy Edison)

Following Svensson’s announcement, his designated successor to lead the group was up to wrestle next. Frye and Howard are accomplished wrestlers, both individually and as a team but third man Emerald Angel was probably their weak link, being inexperienced and also the only non-heavyweight in the mix. All three men of the opposition attempted to isolate the masked high flyer, showing high ring IQ as grapplers Hossam and Edison especially tried to ground him. Cornell took on the role of the trio’s heavy hitter, using his instinctive understanding of Hossam to counter the double team attempts of Frye and Howard with some of their own. This was, without a doubt, Frye’s leadership test at the helm and he passed with flying colours in a big finish that saw him apply the Royal Armbar on 2012 Veteran Wrestler of the Year and master of mat grappling, Wael Hossam. With Howard keeping Cornell occupied as they brawled at ringside and Emerald Angel taking out Edison with a top rope splash, Hossam was left on his own to fend for himself and no matter what he tried, he could not escape; eventually, he had to tap or risk serious damage to his arm.

Champagne Lover and Wade Orson vs Konrad Mäkinen and Paolo Gandalfini

Orson has been splitting his time between NGW in Europe and RoF in England, but already he’s managed to establish himself as an up and comer in both. Teaming with the NGW Heavyweight champion in this match was a chance to shine and for Champagne Lover, a chance to take a closer look on a potential future challenger. Their opponents were two rookies primed for success, Sweden’s Konrad Mäkinen who recently returned from injury to make the jump into the Heavyweight division and the Italian Paolo Gandalfini fresh out of EWA’s proving grounds. As the bigger men of their respective teams, Orson and Gandalfini used their power to control opponents, with Mäkinen apparently having a bad night but still somehow looking better than his teammate. Of course, Champagne Lover was the real star here, but it was Orson who scored the pin after he hit Mäkinen with his Bounce Back finisher.

Winners: Champagne Lover and Wade Orson, by pinfall

Celebrations were cut short when the intimidating Moscow Mauler stepped out of the entrance. Addressing the NGW Heavyweight champion and not bothering with the youngsters, Marat Khoklov said he is going to win the King of the Ring Starmageddon match next month and reclaim the title Champagne Lover took from him last December.

Nigerian Hit Squad © vs The Johanssons (with Signe Lytjohan)

Much like the opening title match, this one was not about technical expertise or impressive high flying attacks. Defending champions were well aware they were facing two men bigger than them, but still they went toe to toe with the Norwegian challengers in a hard hitting contest. The Lawal twins were out to prove themselves as the legitimate wrestlers and the Johanssons as nothing more than ‘sports entertainment’ big men, but they should know better than that given how the likes of Marat Khoklov have developed during their time with NGW. Indeed, Bam Bam put on a great performance, finally up to par with his younger (but schooled, not self taught) brother and showing that during his time with EWA, he has made up for the time he lost while out injured. After taking out Rahabad with a Double Northern Lights Bomb, Bam Bam tagged in his brother and Hercules caught the legal man in Rashid Lawal in the Hercules Lift for the tap out, meaning fans saw the first title switch of the night happen.

Winners: The Johanssons, by submission

Double Dutch © vs John Silver & Leon Harrison

After scoring a surprise win over former champions Lister and Matravers at Walk Through Fire, the Dutch underdogs were up to make their first defense against the veteran duo of NGW’s co-founders. Though not as experienced as the champions in teaming together, Silver and Harrison did have the experience advantage and looked like they stood a good chance of winning despite only wrestling occasionally together as a team .Frank Van Heer shot their hopes down though when he hit a sunset flip off the ropes to roll up an extremely distracted Harrison and score the quick pin.

Winners: Double Dutch, by pinfall with a quick roll up

"Mile High" Adam Matravers vs Christopher Lister vs Hardcore Hernandez

Three Cruiserweights with a wide arsenal of impressive moves up their sleeve met in the ring next and yet, their match was anything but a mishmash of big spots. Teammates Lister and Matravers did start the match working together to eliminate Hernandez who, in an alternative take of his nickname, dropped the daredevil stunts in favor of some ringside brawling and the occasional item that could be used as a weapon. Still, the two on one advantage was too much and he quickly got hit with a Kanobi Kutter that laid him out. The pin had to happen inside the ring though so Team Fly dragged him back in but couldn’t agree on who should make the pin. This led to Matravers and Lister shaking hands before setting off to wrestle each other as Hernandez rolled out to regroup. Things started of with a hold-for-hold exchange, before Lister pulled off some very stiff chops and forearm shots that had Matravers rocking. The laid back high flyer was given no space to hit his aerial moves but Lister seemed hesitant to make the pin. Instead, he shifted his attention back to Hernandez who was just entering the ring and the two of them threw punches back and forth. Using the space provided, Matravers climbed to the top turnbuckle and hit a beautiful Mile High Moonsault aiming for both men. Lister had been expecting him to do just that though and he managed to move out of the way, letting Hernandez and Matravers take the full force of the move before he hit another Kanobi Kutter on Hernandez for good measure and pinned him to score the win.

Winner: Christopher Lister, by pinfall

NGW Women's title match

Geena the Warrior Princess © vs "The Gothic Grappler" Fusae Etsuko

A match nearly five full months in the making, this one was set to headline Hard Times and despite a load of quality contests before it, managed to outperform them all. Etsuko had gone through hard times indeed, first forced to relinquish the NGW Championship (now NGW Heavyweight title) with the creation of a separate division for female wrestlers, then forced to vacate the new NGW Women’s title due to injury. It was at that time that NGW Hall of Famer Geena the Warrior Princess left Canada’s North of the Border Pro Wrestling to return and claim the vacant title, further frustrating the Gothic Grappler who had a point when she said she was never defeated to lose the gold. Their rivalry led to a countout finish in their eventual title match and when the rest of the division requested an equal opportunity to fight for the title, Etsuko trampled them in the NGW Warrior Princess Challenge to earn a spot in this match, a title rematch against Geena.

Both women knew this wasn’t going to be easy or short, so the start was slow as they paced around and challenged each other. Eventually, Geena called for a test of strength and after winning it, began to land shot after shot on her challenger. Stiff shots were Etsuko’s bread and butter in Japan though and she did not falter; instead, she dared the champion to hit her as hard as she could, defiantly dropping her defenses. Geena chopped once… twice...then ate a spinning forearm smash from the fired up Etsuko! Shooting for the dazed champion’s legs, Etsuko dropped Geena to the mat and proceeded to stretch her about, doing lasting damage while also taking away most of Geena’s striking offense. The focus was on the champion’s knee, Etsuko’s intention on crippling her opponent being obvious. Indeed, Geena managed to fight her way out of a tight spot but once she went for the Amazon Plunge, her knee gave in and she dropped to the mat, unable to complete her finishing move. Etsuko shot off the ropes to almost decapitate her with her own Darkness Falls finisher [slingshot Running Knee to a sitting opponent] but then the impossible happened when Geena kicked out of the cover! Etsuko looked like a wild woman herself: no one has ever kicked out of that before!

Struggling back to their feet, the two ladies almost collapsed onto each other, trading blows but lacking much venom behind each shot. Geena brought Etsuko head first onto the mat with a spine crunching DDT but took too much time carefully setting up the Amazon Plunge and while her knee did not give in this time, Etsuko had time to recover and met the flying champion with her own knees up for the counter. It was almost twenty minutes already into this epic confrontation and no competitor seemed to have a distinct advantage as Etsuko climbed on top of the fallen Warrior Princess to apply the Lullaby. Frothing at the mouth, Geena’s eyes were bloodshot as she tried to escape but couldn’t. To her, tapping out was not an option but neither could she break away. Seconds seemed like years and after more than anyone’s ever lasted in Etsuko’s submission finisher, Geena passed out.

Three time winner of the “Female Wrestler of the Year” award, Joanne Rodriguez!

Etsuko stares in disbelief, well acquainted with “J-Ro” since their time together in Japan with Burning Hammer of the Wrestling Goddesses, where Rodriguez was World Champion, while Etsuko only held the tag titles with Tomoko Nagatsuka. Geena, herself a two time “Female Wrestler of the Year” and former Burning Hammer of the Wrestling Goddesses tag team champion with Lioness Musashibo looks stunned too, more with J-Ro’s arrival rather than her own loss. Clearly, things did not end with this match, they only just begun...

Booker Insight

  • NGW Open Collective titles match: I put the titles on Bantom, Mallory and Erikson as a consolation prize so I wanted to give them a few defenses. Bantom got an early push few years ago and either hit his cap or didn’t improve fast enough, then announced he hates smaller opponents; given his size, that means Marat Khoklov is the only opponent he won’t be penalized against. Mallory is a similar story, though instead of an announcement, he was told to bulk up and at the age of 24 somehow went from muscular to flabby. He also complained when I sent him to developmental in order to get into shape. Eriksson is a big bad brawler and past tag champ with McKenna, but eventually got outshined plus he suffers from pre-match nerves; at age 35 he’s past his prime and helping the other two along. Ivanoffs have potential; they’re former tag champs and holders of the six man titles with Khoklov so they made for a good challenge alongside the group’s secondary singles guy in Vidmar until I have something better for them to do.
  • Stig’s announcement: He’s 41, in terminal decline and injury prone. September’s Back to School is the last big PPV he’ll see before his contract expires, so given his upcoming reduced schedule (and his popularity with readers on the other forum I’m posting this) I thought I’d make the announcement now.
  • League of Heroes vs Real Deal: Frye has been the de facto League of Heroes leader, now that Stig officially named him a successor and announced his retirement I’m starting to build him back up as a main event guy. Frye is a big power move guy but his finisher is the dreaded Royal Armbar so part of the storytelling here was having him beat submission master and 2012 Veteran Wrestler of the Year Wael Hossam with it.
  • Lover & Orson vs Mäkinen & Gandalfini: Lover won’t have a challenger until after next month’s Starmageddon, so this match kept him busy alongside hot prospect Wade Orson. Same for Marat’s appearance after the match. Lover and Orson men used their starpower and skill to carry rookies Mäkinen (who just put on muscle to classify as a heavyweight) and Gandalfini (who was just called up for good from developmental).
  • NGW Heavyweight Tag Team titles: The Lawal brothers have been something of a disappointment, after several years with NGW and at age 35, they still haven’t broken past my Lower Midcard. They have excellent Menace and tag experience, but by now that alone is not enough. Bam Bam just dropped the developmental title and his performances have finally caught up with his brother’s, who also happens to be a Next Big Thing, so I slapped on Lytjohan to be their mouthpiece (also to placate her boyfriend Khoklov, who was furious for me firing her a few months ago) and pulled the trigger.
  • NGW Cruiserweight Tag Team titles: All I have in that division are the two teams that wrestled and former champions Lister & Matravers. Double Dutch pick up another underdog win while I struggle to build up the division and find some contenders.
  • #1 contender Triple Threat: Hernandez has wrestled Akuma already and also recently said he has pre-match nerves, so that made me hold back from setting up a rematch just yet. I also wanted to give the other two men something to do, Lister especially has been a tag team guy and second fiddle to Frye for too long and now carrying Matravers. Akuma betrayed the League of Heroes to turn heel and become champion, so facing either Lister or Matravers furthers that storyline too while Hernandez is on hold.
  • NGW Women’s title: Our crown feud and main event. Finally reaching a conclusive finish, this wraps up a storyline that carried us through the first half of the year while also debuting 3 time Female Wrestler of the Year J-Ro as the next challenger with built-in story and rivalries against both Geena and Etsuko.

Elsewhere in May 2013

USA

  • After completely tearing his Posterior Cruciate Ligament, Jon Jetson retired from in-ring action at 48 years of age while also stepping down as USPW’s booker. His replacement is still to be named, assuming Giant Redwood won’t keep the book for himself.
  • Earlier this month, fans saw Wayne Gallagher and Warren Phillips beat Robbie Retro and Jamie Grove for the USPW World Tag Team titles. The former champions managed 7 successful defenses prior to that loss.
  • USPW signed AAA and former QAW star Talia Quinzel for their Womens division but lost a big star in Grandmaster Phunk, who left the promotion to work for New England Wrestling, SWF’s developmental company. Though talented, Phunk is slowly becoming a persona non grata in the professional wrestling industry after issues with big names like Phil Vibert, Gareth Wayne and Giant Redwood. Whether similar issues will come up with the Eisen family remains to be seen.
  • Hollyweird Grappling Company signed Reece Clark, who was offered a lucrative deal in order to jump ship from SWF. Clark was trained in the Supreme University but left the Eisen Empire in 1998 to gain experience with various independent promotions in the East Coast. HGC first signed him in 2002 and he stayed with them until 2010 before re-joining SWF. Now that his 3 year deal was nearing expiry, HGC spared no expense to bring the promising youngster back on their roster.
  • After 11 successful title defenses, Liberty lost the gold to Adonis, who began his 1st reign as HGC Arena champion. This also marks the 43 year old star as a “Quadruple Crown” winner, having now held every singles title in the promotion.

Canada

  • Future Shock Wrestling Inc. signed the Boston Bomber on a pay per appearance deal. Known for his performances with Championship Wrestling from Boston and Texas Wrestling League in the 1970s, the veteran switched to a manager role in the late 80s due to drug issues and has recently kept himself busy as a road agent for Canada’s 4C until their failure and since, QAW.
  • House of Stone graduate Del Martin signed a deal with Due North Canadian Wrestling. NotBPW still employ him on a non-exclusive deal and given how the youngster is still in his rookie year, this speaks volumes regarding his potential.

Mexico

  • The international alliance of El Demonio, Greg Gauge & Hisashi Shirasu beat tecnicos Mario Heroic, Bob Casey & Magik for the Campeonatos de Trios OLLIE.
  • Referee Domingo Castillo’s contract wasn’t renewed upon expiry and instead, SotBPW hired Eduardo Moya to replace him.
  • Mr Lucha II (Manuel Prieto) beat Martel Bertrand for the LLMW Arena Championship title. This is the first championship tile in the young man’s career to date.

Japan

  • Tetsunori Yamakage & Shingen Miyazaki beat Mito Miwa & Tsukasa Ashia at BHotWG Sword of Destiny to win the Burning World Tag Team, ending Miwa & Ashia’s impressive streak at 22 title defenses.
  • EX2010 signed the 2011 star graduate of the Project Arkham School, Masa Kurata. This is the young lion’s first ever contract with a professional wrestling company.

Europe

  • Attack Championship of Wrestling signed wrestlers Arttu Andersson and Bas Hagen, the latter of which they are promoting as “The Super Crusher”. This is both men’s first ever professional wrestling contract.
  • VWA signed Herman Brehme, also known as Herman the German. Although Herman is known mainly for teaming with Kirk the Turk as “The United Nations” he has not had as much success as his partner, who has been a regular ‘local enhancement talent’ for NGW since 1999. This is Brehme’s first ever contract after 14 years in the business and while his partner has already having spent a year with VWA, given how the Swiss promotion only books singles matches, the two are more likely to feud than reunite.

New workers: Marcus Kerr, Matt Stoppard, Killer Kass, Hurricane Higor Rosa, Nate DeMarcus, Humberto David, Mallory Vidal, Florida Simard, Tomohiko Yamagata, Tomas Soto, Yoshimochi Narita

Major Injuries: Tadamasa Otake (Grade VI AC Joint Separation, out for 6 months), Thor the Mighty (Glenoid Labrum Tear, out for 6 months), Rod ‘The God’ Todd a.k.a. Stefan Faust (Depressed Zygomatic Fracture, out for 3 months)

Deaths: Mascara Roja (64), Greg Haskins (69), Bob Johnson (73) and the head trainer of Ling School, Nori Tsutomu (59)

Its crazy to see just how dominate Burning Hammer has been in your save, but with their usual talent along with PGHW and GCG's greatest all on on the same roster, its not terribly shocking. Its fun to see guys like Craig Prince and Philip Roberts doing so well cause they've been fun to use in my own CV97 games, and Buddy Garner turned into quite the tag team specialist in your game. North of the Border's women division looks really solid too, which makes me wish they survived in my long term game; if I hadn't forced HGC and OLLIE to open women's divisions, my game would've been desolate.

Enjoyed the show top to bottom and I'm rather excited to see what J-Ro brings to the company. Its cool to see the women main eventing the show as well. Anyone could put that kind of match on last, but you've seemed to really develop Etsuko and Geena during this save and turned them into your best workers, regardless of gender. It all feels organic and not forced in the slightest.

I like the updates around the world the way you've done it. Its straightforward and succinct. How high are deaths set on your game? I barely have two people pass away in a year and you seemingly had four in May alone.

<p>Burning Hammer were quick to kill off the opposition in the face of a struggling GCG and PGHW before it could take off. Why they also pulled the trigger on 5SSW, I'll never know but they quickly became a monopoly in Japan and set for world domination. NotBPW are a similar story with the quick collapse of CGC and their womens division was able to bring in insane talent after women's wrestling died in Japan.</p><p> </p><p>

Etsuko and Geena have indeed grown organically, especially Geena who was with the company before her 30s. Viv Jacobs is the same, though she's not nearly as popular and can't wrestle as great, so she's helping bring up talent in developmental. Their pop is in the B-C range, while all the other women can't get past D, so they've overshadowed the rest of the division. J-Ro will hopefully help rectify this, she too has a C pop in Europe.</p><p> </p><p>

I'm rolling with the mod's default settings, Death and Injury are set to Medium but game-generated workers are set to start debuting from Jan97 already, when the default CVerse has the date pushed 20 years after the start of the game. Coupled with all the 'canon' wrestlers set to debut, I'm guessing the game engine is taking out people left and right to avoid an overly bloated database that would be slower and harder to process. I've just set new worker generation rate from Medium to Very Low, wonder if it'll change the death/injury/retirement rate.</p><p> </p><p>

As always, thanks for reading and commenting. Glad you liked the show.</p>

Orson takes advantage of his slight size advantage to move Koller around and hit some impressive slams, but the Rock and Roller rolls out of the ring to recover, thus luring Orson to a ringside brawl. More comfortable in such an enviroment and with McKenna assisting him, Koller takes control of the match and even tops it off with a smooth slingshot senton after he's dragged Orson back into the ring but only gets a two count for his effort. The hardcore brawling has taken its toll on Koller and Orson goes for his kip up DDT finisher called the Bounce Back, but Koller barely wiggles his head loose in time to escape and counter with a kick to the gut. McKenna climbs to the apron and does her best to be annoying, eventually distracting the ref so that Koller can kick his opponent's groin and deliver the Hamburg Rock City for the pin.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: Sebastian Koller, by pinfall after Viper McKenna interfered</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="pyf9Pt4.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/pyf9Pt4.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="wuo51A1.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/wuo51A1.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="KRd8pBF.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/KRd8pBF.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="LFcPDbz.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/LFcPDbz.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> In the usual scenery of red velvet recliners and champagne chilling in the ice bucket, we're treated to another episode of "Lover's Lounge" where the NGW Heavyweight champion is interviewing The Gentleman and the Pitbull, NGW's decorated team consisting of Nelson Frye and Robert Howard. This allows Jacobs to take control of the match and unceremoniously attempt to beat Rodriguez to a pulp like she does with all opponents. Once or twice, J-Ro does manage to create some space and hit a few moves, but Jacobs quickly regains control and the more things drag out, the more gassed Rodriguez appears. It seems like a done deal, but overconfidence deprives Jacobs of a big win; cocky after months of beating rookies in EWA and having bested Rodriguez, Jacobs takes too much time trash talking her opponent and playing to the crowd, eventually allowing her opponent to pull off the J-Rocker for the redemption pin.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: Joanne Rodriguez, by pinfall</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="IqChfad.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/IqChfad.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><strong><span style="font-size:14px;">Show Rating:</span></strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="pyf9Pt4.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/pyf9Pt4.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="46461" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="font-size:14px;">Confirmed matches for Starmageddon</span></strong></p></div><p></p><p> </p><ul><li>NGW Cruiserweight title match: Shiro Akuma © vs Christopher Lister<br /></li><li>20 man Starmageddon match. After their return to the company last week, they get in the ring tonight in the first match of the show against Emerald Angel and Phillip Cooper. It's an interesting clash of styles as the two technically-oriented Frenchmen seek to keep their high flying opponents on the mat, something they eventually manage to do thanks to their experience teaming up. After isolating the less experienced Cooper and cutting the ring in half, it is Jacques who hits the Coup de grace for the pin as the Foreign Legion build up some momentum in light of their upcoming title match.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winners: The Foreign Legion, by pinfall</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="mwL0z0W.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/mwL0z0W.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="PybIMT9.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/PybIMT9.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="nYdtjiY.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/nYdtjiY.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> A video package airs next, showing highlights of Norwegian Super Heavyweights Bam Bam and Hercules Johansson's matches. Such was his panic trying to get out of a tight spot at the time and it shows still: more than once, Kalashnov seems hesitant to hit a big move or try and score the pin. Despite his off moments, he and young Boronin seem to really hit it off against each other and the young Ukranian looks really hellbent on proving himself, which in turn makes for a pretty exciting and competitive bout. However, his enthusiasm backfires when he gets carried away, his rookie mistake allowing Kalashnov to instinctively hit the Eastern Block and score the pin before he actually realizes what he did.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: Sergei Kalashnov, by pinfall</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="rCrbMWQ.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/rCrbMWQ.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="72KyRpj.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/72KyRpj.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="TgQORsF.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/TgQORsF.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="bGfQcLk.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/bGfQcLk.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="YuuZy7b.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/YuuZy7b.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="aqKXVd4.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/aqKXVd4.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> Marat, Vidmar and the Ivanoffs come out to circle the ring, but before they can surround the two competitors, Kalashnov gets hold of a mic</p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="46461" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Kalashnov: <strong>"Hold on, hold on... Coupled with Boronin's inexperience and the fluid teamwork of the #1 contenders for the NGW Cruiserweight Tag Team titles, Kalashnov and his partner fight a losing battle and after ten or so minutes, Pierre DuPont hits the Coup de grace on Boronin to score the pin as the Foreign Legion look strong headed into their title match.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winners: The Foreign Legion, by pinfall</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="rCrbMWQ.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/rCrbMWQ.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="TgQORsF.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/TgQORsF.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="bGfQcLk.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/bGfQcLk.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="YuuZy7b.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/YuuZy7b.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="aqKXVd4.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/aqKXVd4.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> Backstage, the Czars are watching the match on a television screen. Their opponents, NGW's resident rock couple of "The Rock and Roller" Sebastian Koller and "The Rock Chick" Viper McKenna. Given the setup, a lot of the match is about Koller and McKenna's interactions, as well as Champagne Lover's moments with both McKenna and Etsuko. While entertaining, all the storytelling does limit the actual wrestling but given the quality of those between the ropes, it's still an exciting match that goes on for almost fourteen minutes before Etsuko catches a kneeling Koller with a devastating Darkness Falls [slingshot Running Knee to the head] for the knockout and pin, a subtle reference to the days of intergender singles matches and Etsuko's dominance against both male and female contenders for the top title she used to hold.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winners: Champagne Lover & Fusae Etsuko, by pinfall</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="sma3Die.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/sma3Die.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="KRd8pBF.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/KRd8pBF.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="LFcPDbz.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/LFcPDbz.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> A pre-taped promo airs next, with Nelson Frye speaing and "The Louisiana Pitbull" Robert Brown glaring over his shoulder.</p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="46461" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Frye: <strong>"When NGW held its first ever Starmageddon match to determine the King of the Ring in 2010, it was won by this man behind me... The two quick high flyers have all the flashy moves and chain wrestling, combo weaving skills to make this an exciting contest, but they also have a storied rivalry following Akuma's departure from the League of Heroes.
