CGC 2019: The Show Must Go On

Recommended Posts

Sayeed Ali vs Zeus Maxmillion

Normally I would pick Zeus just because he´s current top contender for your main title but you seem to go storylines first and I agree with Davefan95 that it would feel bit too hasty if Zeus immediately turns things around after getting help, think there´s need to be kind of a learning phase before things start to click again.

Skip Beau vs Donovan Boon

Another one were I go against my usual instincts as I feel that Skip would need a win considering he´s former champion who haven´t looked all that strong but I got an impression that it´s exactly how you want him to look at this point so I´d guess Skip is going to lose a lot until he finally gets new direction for himself, whatever that might be.

Ultimate Showdown Series Qualifier: Hugh Ancrie vs Torque

Bit of a coin flip, but since Delivery ain´t going to give tag belts back to Gear-Heads I feel that Torque has more time to be in the tournament while Hugh is likely busy defending his tag belts. Plus getting into tournament by beating a guy who got your belt is a good way to keep Gear-Heads looking strong even after they dropped the belts.

Davis Ditterich "Last month Sayeed Ali scored a huge upset when he defeated the No.1 Contender to the World Title Zeus Maxmillion in singles competition. Tonight, Zeus gets a rematch. Will things go differently?"

Jack DeColt "Zeus Maxmillion lost his hearing in his wars with the Blockbuster, which Ali was smartly able to take advantage of. However, Zeus has made a new friend; deaf wrestler DT Rush, who's been showing him a thing or two about coping with his disability."

I'm back, dweebs. Ya miss me? Alex DeColt didn't like how I kicked

Zeus Maxmillion's ass last month, so he sent me on a little vacation.

But now I'm back, and ready to finish the job at 'Chaos in the Cage'.

You think I'm scared of Zeus? You think I'm scared of being locked

in a cage with a God? Not a chance. He's a disabled! And even if

he wasn't I'd destroy him. I beat him at WrestleFestival and I'm

going to beat him again. I don't need interference. I never did and

I never will. I broke Zeus at WrestleFestival. I took away his dreams

and I took away his hearing. His new friend DT Rush can teach him

all of the tricks in the world, but he'll never be man enough to beat me.

SAYEED ALI

We can agree on one thing, Blockbuster. You don't have to worry about

Zeus. But you do have to worry about me. I'm gonna kick Zeus' ass tonight,

and then I'm going to win the Ultimate Showdown Series, and mark my

words, when I do I'm firing those Three Wishes right at you.

FAITH

Yeah, baby. Take his title!

SAYEED ALI

Shut up, woman! I know what I'd doing. I'm gonna beat up a cripple, and

then the baddest man in CGC, from the GREATEST CITY IN THE WORLD...

is getting some gold around his waist.

SKIP BEAU VS DONOVAN BOON

wOIZiSA.jpggIVnf4J.jpgtjT8E5H.jpg

Jack DeColt "Skip Beau wants a title shot, but I'm not going to give it to him until he straightens up and flies right. He's better than this."

Referee Jez McArtheur checks Skip for weapons and... find nothing. Suspicious, he checks again... still nothing. Even more surprising, Skip offers a handshake and it isn't a ploy. No sucker punch. Even when Boon takes him down under with Kangeroo Fu, Skip resists the urge to cheat or beg off, and is rewarded with an opportunity to power free with a series of backbreakers. The scuzzy Aussie Bogan didgeridoes more powerful kicks and knees from the clinch, but Beau feels the Flow. Flow Down (Saddled Reverse DVD)! 1... 2... 3!

SKIP BEAU WINS (9:47)

Davis Ditterich "Wow. A rare win for Skip Beau where he doesn't cheat."

SKIP BEAU

Are you happy now, Jack? I played your game. I did

things you way. Now give me my title shot!

Jack DeColt "Two exciting young tag teams who would love to get into the title picture."

The Great Trickerion uses parlour tricks and simple illusions to absolutely delight Penfold... but Mario isn't impressed. He turns Gnaw into his latest masterpiece, twisting and contorting the ferocious feline's limbs into beautifully horrific angles. Penfold tries to pet the kitty, but Gnaw bites! He tags in Trick, who cuts the ring in half and makes Pin Point's momentum disappear! Belly to Belly Suplex! Glittering Magician! Ta Da! 1... 2... 3!

Last month we took the CGC Tag Team Titles and delivered them

to where they belong; around our perfectly sculpted waists. Ordinarily

we don't make returns, but if the Gear-Heads are willing to follow our

terms and conditions, perhaps we can give them a chance to find out

that all deliveries are final.

Jack DeColt "Either one of these fighters would be great additions to the Ultimate Showdown Series. Ancrie is an accomplished technician, while Torque one of the premier bubbleweight competitors on the planet."

Torque empties out the Gear-Head toolbox of hammers, wrenches and drills, but lacks his partner's bulk and gets stamped and delivered to Suplex City. Ancrie smugly uses his technical knowhow to keep the bite-sized biker grounded, until Torque changes lanes! He burns rubber! Flips! Dives! Pedal to the Metal (Curb Stomp)! 1... 2... 3!

Zeus follows his new friends advice, making up for his lack of hearing by keeping his opponent in his sights and controlling him with Greco-Roman grappling. Ali soon takes things to the streets, however, using the crowd to hide in before attacking Zeus when he can't hear him coming. The Bronzed God battle back to the ring with left hands and headbutt and a biiiig backbody drop, and Ali is quick to throw Faith in harm's way. Zeus catches the poor girl and puts her somewhere safe, and Ali tries to take advantage with an East Coast Forearm... but Zeus feels the vibrations of the ring and ducks just in time! Off work for the holidays, and lost track of the days. I only realised it was Sunday when I went to bed last night, and a bit bummed out to miss my deadline.

Penfold Perdition is complaining about his booking, but he just broke The Great Trickerion's nose, so I don't know how much he's earned it.

Ali

Pure guess, sure Zeus has an ally to help his hearing but him turning it around straight away seems a bit meh to me

I don't disagree. When I planned this out it felt right, but it did feel a bit sudden in execution. Then again, Zeus is a demi-god, and maybe Sayeed isn't as good as he thinks he is. He's disappointed me in these two matches with Zeus. He looks better than Blockbuster in every way (better brawler, better performance, better talker, same pop until recently) but the match ratings haven't reflected that. Ancrie & Torque actually had a better match in half the time.

Blockbuster

DT Rush is going to give Zeus a strategy to win the belt in this match but DT is going to come up just short allowing us to see if Zeus can get the w at the PPV

Ali & DeVille

Running Wolf is the weak link due to his lack of development, also gives Bobby even more of underdog status going into his match with DeVille at the PPV.

LaGrenier

Allows them to do another going postal match to send Greaser away to wherever he needs to go so Torque can concentrate on the Ultimate Showdown Series with Greaser.

Jack and Skip

Simple win for the lads before they go one on one at the PPV

As much as I like Ali, he's very much a wildcard. He can be a superb performer at times, then at others a bit disappointing and then be pretty much as expected. He's still worth it though. Of all your heels he's probably the one I like the most in terms of character. Although, Blockbuster is good too, I see Ali as more of a threat but I think thats more my opinion of him than your writing as Blockbuster, seems to be able to find ways to keep the belt and be a pretty formidable fighter as well.

Zeus is usually a good competitor and a consistent one too but he's in his 40's now right, don't know if time decline has kicked in but it could have been a factor

CGC World Title Match: DT Rush vs Blockbuster

This one is here for storyline purposes, no way DT Rush gets the belt this quickly and not right before his ally is going to challenge for the belt.

Ultimate Showdown Series Exhibition Match: Sayeed Ali & Diablo DeVille vs Running Wolf & Bobby Thomas

I so badly wanting to pick Wolf And Thomas here but I feel that heels are going to take this one. My main reasoning for this one is that it feels like Bobby could possibly be set up for a storyline were he loses a lot now and is mocked by Diablo on it, only for Bobby to turn it around and eliminate Diablo from the Showdown series for the big win in order to prove that he indeed manages to go toe-to-toe with super powered beings. Or maybe I´m just hoping that since I like Bobby but, hey, man can hope right? :D

Winner Picks The Stipulation: Philippe LaGrenier vs Greaser

I could see this one going either way but since Torque win the last match, I have Philippe win here. Also, I feel that letting Express Delivery choose the stipulation would eventually make Gear-Heads look slightly stronger in defeat as when they lose the title match, they lost it against odds instead of a match that favored them.

Woolabonga Bogans vs Jack DeColt & Skip Beau

I could see a surprise loss for DeColt here, mainly in a case if Skip betraying Jack in order to set the title shot match but Jack is Jack so... yeah, I go with DeColt here but would it be anyone else on Jack´s place I would certainly go the other way.

Sunday Week 3 May 2019

Late Evening on Maple Leaf Sports

Davis Ditterich "We are five days away from 'Chaos in the Cage' where Zeus Maxmillion aims to complete his Labours and win the CGC World Title from the villainous Blockbuster. He was struck deaf in their last match, but last week he overcame that disability with the help of new friend DT Rush. Will that be enough against the self-proclaimed "Most Metal Champion" in CGC history?"

HFdiLDs.jpg

gjJaKN0.jpg

JACK DECOLT

From the moment I sat down in the commentary booth the tag team

division in CGC has caught my eye as the most exciting it's ever been,

and no team excites me more than the Woolabonga Bogans. The

hunger. The teamwork. I never thought I'd see a pair with a better

connection than I had teaming with my brothers... but looking at

Mills and Boon, I may have been wrong. Now I'd love to test that

theory. I'd love to drag Ricky or Steve or Alex out here to be in my

corner to take them on, but sadly there isn't any new DeColt blood

coming through CGC. But there's a little bit of DeColt Spirit in every

one of the kids I trained in the Power House. Some of them have lost

their way, but I'm here to help them find it. Skip Beau! Deep down

you're a good guy. Last week you kept it clean and played it straight

and you got the victory. That's the Skip I want to see! That's the Skip

Beau I trained you to be! Not the cheater! Not the sychophant! The

Flow! Lesson's not over, kid. I'm giving you the title shot you earned

this Friday at 'Chaos in the Cage', but tonight I have one more chance

to prove to you the hero you can be. Tonight I'm fighting the Woolabonga

Bogans, and there's no one I'd rather have in my corner than you.

DT RUSH VS BLOCKBUSTER ©

UHT6U8D.jpggIVnf4J.jpgfmOj4hK.jpg

Davis Ditterich "Inspirational deaf wrestler DT Rush has been teaching Zeus Maxmillion how to cope with his new disability, and that hasn't sat well with Blockbuster. He's demanded this match to make a statement."

Using the vibrations of the ring to make up for his lack of hearing, DT easily dodges the charging Champion, but when it's his time to attack it's like hitting a brick wall. Blockbuster thrashes, shreds and beats him like a drum, and although Rush tries to counter the BusterBomb (Powerbomb into Turnbuckles) into a huracanranna, the Champion has that counter scouted. He holds on, powers him back up, and hurls Rush against the turnbuckles. 1. 2. 3.

BLOCKBUSTER RETAINS (5:48)

BLOCKBUSTER

Have I proved my point? All the tricks in the world. All the special

tekneeks to help him overcome his disability, and this puke is still

only half the man I am. Just a cripple. I don't know what he taught

Zeus Maxmillion and I don't care. Why should I care? I beat him

when he was a demi-god and I'm gonna double beat him at 'Chaos

in the Cage' now that he's broken. Say goodbye to your dreams of

being CGC Champion, Zeus. Say goodbye to your Labours. Just like

you said goodbye to your hearing last time we fought. It's over.

You're done. You understand me, cripple? You hear what I'm

saying? Of course you can't, so let me show you one more

time what you're in for on Friday.

Blockbuster rips the pad off of the top turnbuckle and prepares to take DT Rush out with another-

pDTE1FI.jpg

A bolt of lightning strikes the turnbuckle, and Blockbuster drops his intended victim and comes face to face with ZEUS MAXMILLION.

Blockbuster blinks first, backing away from his challenger... but when Zeus Maxmillion turns his back to help DT Rush to his feet, Blockbuster charges. Feeling the vibrations of the mat, Zeus doesn't need to hear to know what's coming. He easily ducks the clothesline, boots the champion in the gut, and sets up the Thunder Bolt (Sit Out Bomb)... but the Heavy Metal Mauler scurries free and flees up the ramp with his tail between his legs, embarassed and furious.

Running Wolf uses his tremendous strength to interogate the villains about a missing Tomahawk, but neither know what he's talking about. Diablo uses inhuman agility to get the best of Bobby, and delights in feeding off of his suffering. Ali yells at Faith for cheerleading too much, and Diablo gorges himself. So much suffering! Through hard work and determination, Bobby crawls out of the depths of hell to tag in Running Wolf and his war dance! Tomahawk Chops! High Backdrops! Diablo springboards in but the big man catches him. Wolf Tamer (Fireman's Carry Slam)! Ali flees outside and hides behind Faith when Wolf catches him. He heads out to back up his partner against Ancrie and Dice, but takes his eye off of LaGrenier. Track Package (Powerful Chop to Back)! Package Piledriver! 1... 2... 3!

reason I'm teaming with him tonight, and the only reason I followed

his stupid rules last week, is to get my title shot. All I want is to get

my title back and reunite the Champion Bros. At 'Chaos in the Cage'

I'm going to show Jack who's boss... but tonight he's making me be

SKIP BEAU & JACK DECOLT

Davis Ditterich "Jack DeColt defends his CGC Canadian Title against Skip Beau this Friday, but tonight he wants to teach his former pupil a thing or two about fair play."

Jack tries to teach Skip the error of his ways, refusing to let him cheat, and rewarding him with positive reinforcement whenever he keeps it clean. The Bogans use quick tags and a blind tag switcheroo to isolate Jack, and Skip delights in watching Jack get taken down under by the scuzzy Aussie duo, even going so far as to "fall off" the apron when Jack breaks free and leaps for a tag.

Davis Ditterich "Taking a beating like this, Jack might not even make it to 'Chaos in the Cage'"

Wait a second. That's not what Skip wants. He's back on the apron, desperate for a tag.... and he gets it! Beau feels the Flow, unleashing a series of powerful and innovative backbreakers! Boon blindsides him with some Drop-Bear-Obics, but Jack saves him from the Billabong Boomerang (Slingshot into Spinning Wheel Kick). Skip is... Skip doesn't know how to react. He's not used to being saved from anything. The Bogans charge. Flow Down (Saddled Reverse DVD)! Wild Ride (Whiplash Slam)! Jack lets Skip make the cover! 1... 2... 3!

SKIP BEAU & JACK DECOLT WIN (16:37)

Davis Ditterich "Skip played by the rules... eventually... and picked up the win. What will happen when these two collide over the Canadian Title on Friday? What will happen in all of the matches at 'Chaos in the Cage'??? We'll see you Friday!"

A strong show, thanks to a great Jack DeColt promo (delivery more than content) and a very good main event. Considering that it was a Storyline match with strange face/heel dynamics, I'm very happy. Jack DeColt in the tag team division, with a real babyface partner could be amazing.

Diablo was the 'weak link' in the other tag match, by virtue of being the least over. I don't know how much this feud with Bobby Thomas is getting him over in-game, but I imagine the matches are very good.

Bidding war for Huey Cannonball ended with him going to USPW. The guy has 98 psychology!!! Amazing.

Zeus is usually a good competitor and a consistent one too but he's in his 40's now right, don't know if time decline has kicked in but it could have been a factor

Time Decline hasn't been much of an issue. Jack Bruce. Ryan Powell. Joey Poison. I think Shingen Miyazaki. That's it. My core elder statesmen (Jack, DaLay, Zeus, Bobby & Dirty White Boys) are still going strong... for now. In a private game with this data, half of those dropped into decline fairly quickly.

Running Wolf is the weak link due to his lack of development, also gives Bobby even more of underdog status going into his match with DeVille at the PPV.

Running Wolf definitely needs more spotlight. When the Ultimate Showdown Series begins, and the roster gets narrowed in focus, he'll have something going on.

Who the hell wants Huey Cannonball anyway. He's just a Blonde Trent "Twilight McSparkle Midget" Schaffer anyway. He's small too. May he rot in midcard hell in the land of the giants.

Blockbuster

I'll take the champ here purely out of the fact I usually take the champ if I'm not sure which way a match will go. Pretty good to see Zeus not on TD and the deaf thing certainly brings a new weakness for Zeus to overcome. Still I can't decide so Buster gets my pick. I'd like to see the loser get into the USS though.

Express Delivery

Their match, Greaser isn't in the USS and I don't feel he should be either so ED in another one finding a way to win without their customer service representative. think this gives Torque the chance to go and do something in the USS too as Greaser gets sent away

Jack

Let's keep the belt on Jack, Skip can go into the USS or possibly tag with Jack to get the tag belts by turning him if you wanted, think ED and Jack and Skip could make a really fun feud

Diablo

Something something new generation something. In all seriousness, I would have Bobby here but he just won the tag match last time out and with Diablo creating a new cool dynamic to the series that if he wins, what happens with the wishes (possibly going to the world champ which. Would allow the world champ to get involved, you telling me Blockbuster wouldn't help Diablo win if it helped his cause). Bobby prob goes into the battle royale then

Not sure about the battle Royale in terms of winners but Dan DaLay deserves a go, Skip if he loses, Zeus/Buster depending on who wins the belt (bit tough to fit in one of them seems they'd be the main event), Bobby or Diablo. Both members of ED if you wanted to make them a real threat in the series. Poison deserves a shot. DT Rush also deserves a chance seems he's been an important part of the world title storyline.I'd also look at a few surprise entrances. If I were to pick the three last guys for the USS it would be Dan DaLay, Skip Beau and Poison but that's just me.

<p>Cage Match for CGC World Title: <strong>Zeus Maxmillion </strong>vs Blockbuster ©</p><p>

<em>You are doing good job on keeping me guessing as I find myself flipping between what I expect to happen next </em><img alt=":o" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/redface.png.900245280682ef18c5d82399a93c5827.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><em>. Case in point, think I few shows before said something on the lines of Zeus not being creditable challenger because of back-to-back losses.. and now? Well, I´m actually picking him to get the belt. My main reasoning is that to me, current story line seems to point into that direction as with getting the belt being Zeus last task, getting the belt opens possibility for new story lines as "what comes next now that he achieved his goal?" type of thing which could lead into character development for Zeus. Other thing that makes me think change is possible here is I´m not sure who even the next challenger could be and have even less idea as who could eventually get the belt if not Zeus? </em></p><p> </p><p>

Going Postal Match for CGC Tag Team Titles: Gear-Heads vs <strong>Express Delivery ©</strong></p><p>

<em>This is the only one out of two matches on the show were I´m quite confident I get the right winner, Express just took the belts from Gear-Heads so I don´t see you flipping the belts back to them and with Torque being in the Ultimate Showdown series and Greaser not being there, Greaser can take the trip to post offices around the world while Torque tries to gain singles success.</em></p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

CGC Canadian Title Match: Skip Beau vs <strong>Jack DeColt ©</strong></p><p>

<em>This is the other one were I´m somewhat certain of the winner (now watch me being completely wrong about one or both of these </em><img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><em>). Thinking Jack keeps the belt and help build challengers up while Skip goes to journey of self discovery after not getting the belt back.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Ultimate Showdown Series Qualifier: <strong>Diablo DeVille</strong> vs Bobby Thomas</p><p>

<em>And back to the matches were I have no idea what to expect. </em></p><p><em>

With Thomas getting the win last show, I´m lot less sure of how I think this would go... actually, I´m going to make a switch to Diablo as he´s younger so this feud is likely there to put him over and perhaps Bobby could still get something out from a loss, maybe a heel turn after he realizes he needs to cheat in order to hang with more powerful foes? Not sure how well that would work considering the current Jack vs. Skip story line about Skip not being his best because he cheats, but hey, I´m liking Bobby so I´m hoping for a push to him regardless of whatever it would actually work or not. </em><img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

Ultimate Showdown Series Qualifier Battle Royale: (No Participants Announced, who do you think would work well?)</p><p>

<em>Hmmm, not sure if all three places are decided here or if it just one and the other two would just be announced else were without need to qualify but I´m going with all three being decided here in which case I think a tag team or a group would have the best chance of success since they could work together and both/all three get into series. I exclude anyone already in the show on this as I assume they won´t be here and also won´t consider anyone not in the current roster (this includes guys like Poison and Watson as I assume they were on short contract and not permanent roster members). With these restrictions, I think either DaLay & Son or Woolabonga Bogans are the likely options for two out of the three spots and I go with Bogans as I think they would benefit more from this with Dan DaLay being perhaps too big name popularity wise compered to others in the series and Robin still being bit too green to do well in the series. The third spot I would give to upcoming young guy, The Great Trickerion and Drake Young both had a bit of a win streak little while ago and while Trickerion won their match little while ago, I´m actually giving the last spot to Drake as I feel that he could weasel he´s way into tournament and Trickerion has bit more going on with his Lords of Vegas tag team with Gnaw while Drake doesn´t have much going on besides the possibility to get into this tournament. So </em><em><strong>Drake Young</strong></em><em> in case there´s only one spot on this and add </em><em><strong>Woolabonga Bogans</strong></em><em> in case all three spots are decided this way. </em></p>

Davis Ditterich "Welcome everybody to 'Chaos in the Cage'! We have five huge matches for you tonight. Titles on the line! Scores to be settled! And by the end of tonight we will have the complete line-up for the 2019 Ultimate Showdown Series, which begins this Sunday on Maple Leaf Sports."

ULTIMATE SHOWDOWN SERIES QUALIFIER

DIABLO DEVILLE VS BOBBY THOMAS

ojbGDRL.jpggIVnf4J.jpge0XN8Nh.jpg

Davis Ditterich "Diablo DeVille has been unleashed on his master's enemies, especially singling out Bobby Thomas. Now they fight for a spot in the Ultimate Showdown Series."

Diablo tries to feed off of the crowd's suffering, but Bobby has provided them each with a signed photo of their favourite wrestler and a handstitched monogrammed cushion to make their chairs more comfortable.

Davis Ditterich "My word. The effort Bobby must have gone to..."

Bobby easily takes control of the hungry demon, but underestimates his capacity for cruelty. Diablo uses his teeth and sharpened fingernails (and inhuman flips) to take his foe to hell, but between Bobby's courage and the happiness of the crowd, his stomach is rumbling, and is too weak to finish off the mortal. Bobby fires back, latching onto limbs and unleashing textbook Super Kicks! Diablo rakes the eyes and goes for the Phoenix Lariat (Springboard Clothesline) but Bobby catches him in mid air! Specialist Touch (Single Arm DDT)! Cross Armbreaker! Diablo fights and struggles... and taps!

BOBBY THOMAS QUALIFIES (13:25)

FOR THE ULTIMATE SHOWDOWN SERIES

Davis Ditterich "Through hard work and ingenuity, Bobby proves that there are worse things to be than a man amongst monsters. The only one suffering tonight, is the demon himself."

DICE ELDERBERRY

Me and that fat Hogg spent year together on the open road. We were

like brothers... but the world ain't about family no more. Companies.

Corporations. Salaries. That's where it's at. Greaser can delude himself

all he wants and pal around with that pipsqueak, but they ain't got a

chance against Express Delivery. Ancrie & LaGrenier are a well-oiled

machine with funding and support behind them. Support like me.

Dice jimmies open a window and starts hoisting his considerable bulk through it.

The Security Guards accompanying ALEX DECOLT each grab a leg and start pulling Dice back outside. He farts in their faces.

Greaser & Torque

THE GEAR-HEADS

NM2ZKog.jpgva5qA6m.jpggIVnf4J.jpgNUtuhVw.jpgc4UYihb.jpg

EXPRESS DELIVERY

Phillipe LaGrenier & Hugh Ancrie

Davis Ditterich "Express Delivery won the CGC Tag Team Titles thanks to help from Dice Elderberry. Even in their own specialty match, can they retain them when he's banned from the building?"

The Gear-Heads ride to the ring of custom motorcycles, while Express Delivery arrive in a regulation delivery van. LaGrenier unloads empty boxes, packing peanuts, poster tubs and tape from the back, while Ancrie "accidentally" reverses the vehicle directly into the Gear-Head's bikes. It's On!

The Gear-Heads have the advantage when the fists are flying, but Express Delivery are far more comfortable with the tools at their disposal. Torque gets launched into the delivery van and Champions focus on Greaser... but struggle to find a box big and strong enough to contain the rampaging big man, who rips and tears his way free for the inside. LaGrenier lugs a double-reinforced pallet out of the van, but Torque intercepts with a big dive! He burns rubber to turn Ancrie inside out with flips and flops and stuffs him in a box... but LaGrenier saves. Undaunted, Torque stuffs LaGrenier in a box, but Ancrie saves. Double undaunted, Torque gets both in a box at the same time... but Express Delivery power free before he can tape it up. First Class Package (Flying Stomp/Package Piledriver)!!!!

Greaser gets violent to protect his friend, first with poster tubes, then with a hubcap ripped from the delivery van. He launches at LaGrenier with the Grease Spot (High Knee) but in a spectacular feat of strength the Muscular Mailman catches him and dumps him in the reinforced pallet! Torque sends Ancrie into a different box with a head-scissors, and it's a fight for the tape! LaGrenier vs Torque! Strength vs Speed! Torque slips free of the Package Piledriver, steals the tape, and races over to Ancrie's box, but Ancrie pops out with a jack-in-the-box uppercut! Torque's out! LaGrenier gets the tape and seals Greaser's box shut!

EXPRESS DELIVERY RETAIN (17:02)

Express Delivery aren't done. LaGrenier jumps Torque, laying him out with another Package Piledriver, while Ancrie drags another box out of the van. He opens it up and...

9SndfB4.jpg

IAN IDENTITY pops out! Ancrie is stunned and terrified as Ian attacks without mercy with intense forearms. LaGrenier tries to save his partner but eats an Incredible Dropkick! Intrepid Arrow (Arrow Suplex) on Ancrie on the roof of the delivery van! Security swarm in to save the tag team champions from the violent assault from the dishevled Identity.

ALEX DECOLT

Ladies and Gentlemen, the Ultimate Showdown Series begins

and while we may not know all of the competitors yet, we do

know the referee. Shane Stones is a 25-year veteran with eyes

like a hawk and no time for nonsense. I trust him completely to

make the right calls and crown the right winner.

SHANE STONES

Officiating this year's Ultimate Showdown Series is an honour. I will

not hesitate to disqualify anyone who tries to break the rules.

clean, fighters.

CGC CANADIAN TITLE MATCH

JACK DECOLT VS SKIP BEAU

wOIZiSA.jpggIVnf4J.jpggjJaKN0.jpg

Davis Ditterich "Skip Beau seems to have cleaned up his act lately and Jack DeColt has rewarded him with a rematch for the Canadian Title."

Clean of hidden weapons, Skip shakes hands, resists the urge to cheat and is rewarded with an opportunity to power out of Jack's amateur wrestling holds and deliver a series of backbreakers. No hair pulling, no fish hooking, Skip starts to feel The Flow... but Jack's not done teaching lessons. Right hands! Shoulder tackles! Wild Ride (Whiplash Slam)! 1... 2... Skip kicks out and Jack is impressed. So impressive he calls for DeColt Legacy!!! Iron Claw! DeColt Thrust! Running Bulld- No! Skip launches Jack off of him, accidentally wiping out referee Royce Greig!

Davis Ditterich "The referee is down, Jack's woozy, and Skip's on his feet. What's he going to do?"

With a devilish grin, Skip pulls a pair of brass knuckles out of his boot and goes for the knockout blow... but Jack blocks it. Uh oh. Jack stuns the challenger with a DeColt Thrust, takes the knuckles for himself, and blasts Skip in the face! End of Days (Bow & Arrow Dragon Sleeper)! Referee Royce Greig comes around to see Skip Beau tapping out!

JACK DECOLT RETAINS (18:02)

SAYEED ALI

I have been denied my chance at the CGC World Title for too long,

but next week the Ultimate Showdown Series begins, and that's my

ticket to winning those Three Wishes. Ain't gonna matter who the

Champion is, I can use those to do what I want, and what I want is

gold around my waist.

HFdiLDs.jpg

e0XN8Nh.jpg

BOBBY THOMAS

Seems like there's no such thing as an Ultimate Showdown Series

without Bobby Thomas on the roster. Eight times it's been held. Eight

times I've tried to weather the storm and win those Three Wishes.

Tonight I proved to Diablo DeVille the strength of men. This year I

finally put myself in the history books.

HFdiLDs.jpg

QzHWNfH.jpg

RUNNING WOLF

Years ago, my ancestor fought in these lands. His name was Howling

Dog. He possessed an enchanted tomahawk that had the power to

control the weather, and he used that power to make the lands of all

who were friends to the Cree fertile and fair. But he was defeated,

and the Tomahawk lost, and lands of our peoples fell to devastation

and drought. I will use the Three Wishes to find the Tomahawk.

I will return my people's lands to its former glory.

Davis Ditterich "A lot of fresh young talent in this battle royal, including some local fighters. Who will win the spot in the Ultimate Showdown Series?"

Robin DaLay uses his family's signiture heavy hands to take out Malik Cash, while Drake Young punishes straight-white males like Hudsucker for their microaggressions, but it's Ian Identity who's like a man possessed, free from captivity and demolishing Chucky and Zachary with intense forearms and incredible dropkicks!

MALIK CASH, HUDSUCKER BAMBALAMB, CHUCKY DORRANCE & ZACHARY INC

HAVE BEEN ELIMINATED

The Woolabonga Bogans come up against the Lords of Vegas. The Bogans come out on top in teamwork, but The Great Trickerion uses misdirection and illusion to run the Duo into each other and take out Boon with a Belly-to-Belly Suplex! Ta-Da! Mills gets revenge on the magician with a Kangaroo Kick (Shotgun Dropkick) but Gnaw barrels into him, sending them both over the top rope!

DONOVAN BOON, THE GREAT TRICKERION, RUSTY MILLS & GNAW

HAVE BEEN ELIMINATED

With so much confusion and action, DT Rush is having trouble feeling the vibrations of the ring, which allows Robin to sneak up on him and toss him out. Meanwhile, K-Squared and Drake have formed an alliance. They double team Penfold Perdition out of the ring, and try to do the same to DaSilva. Mario calls for Ian Identity to help him... but Identity tips all three over the top rope!

DT RUSH, PENFOLD PERDITION, MARIO DaSILVA, DRAKE YOUNG &

K-SQUARED HAVE BEEN ELIMINATED

It's down to Identity & DaLay. Robin bullies his smaller foe around, just like his Dad, but when he tries to toss him out Ian slips free and turns the tables! Dropkick! Robin goes over the top!

ROBIN DALAY HAS BEEN ELIMINATED

IAN IDENTITY paces around, as doctors are trying to calm him down and examine him.

IAN IDENTITY

You learn a lot about yourself when you're trapped in a box for untold

weeks. Lot of time to time to think. All my life Ive been told I'm going

to be special. I was told I was going to be the next DeColt. I was told

I was going to be a world champion. So I sat back and waited and what

happened? I ended up in a box being kicked off a cargo barge in Buenos

Aires. I'm done sitting back. If Ian Identity's going to be saved he's going to

do it himself. I chewed my way out of that box, and I found another that

would bring me where I need to be. Express delivery felt my wrath

tonight but don't worry boys, there's no "I" in "revenge". But there is

an "I" in "belief". And "impact". And "qualify". And there are two "I's

in "Ultimate Showdown Series". And those stand for Ian Identity.

ZEUS MAXMILLION VS BLOCKBUSTER ©

pDTE1FI.jpggIVnf4J.jpgfmOj4hK.jpg

Davis Ditterich "Last time Zeus challenged the World Champion, he lost both the match and his hearing. Will tragedy strike again? Or will tonight be the night when Blockbuster falls and Zeus completes his twelve Labours?"

Impervious to the extra-loud entrance music blasting out of the Champion's in-ring speaker system, Zeus uses the advice of his many friends. He sticks and moves like Shane. He keeps the Heavy Metal Mauler in his sights like DT Rush. He attacks the joints like Bobby.

wOIZiSA.jpgojbGDRL.jpg

SKIP BEAU and DIABLO DeVILLE run down to ringside, trying to climb the cage... but a LIGHTNING BOLT electricifies it! Every time they try to interfere another bolt shocks them away until they retreat. Blockbuster tries to sneak up, but Zeus feels him coming in the vibrations of the ring and smites the champion with left hands and headbutts! It's like hitting a brick wall, but Zeus is a wrecking ball! Blockbuster resorts to a poke to the eyes to the stop the god's momentum, and thrashes and shreds and beats the challenger like a drum. No mercy. He hurls Zeus against the cage over and over again! He tries the BusterBomb (Powerbomb into Turnbuckles) but Zeus counters with a huracanranna. Spinebuster! Back Body Body! Olympian Clutch (Camel Clutch)! Blockbuster screams in pain! He fights... and struggles...

... and powers out! He carries Zeus on his back and rams him into the cage! Again and again. Blockbuster tries another BusterBomb, and although Zeus goes for the huracanranna, the Champion has it scouted. He powers Zeus back up! BusterBomb! 1... 2... Zeus kicks out.

Oh. My. Bronzed. God. ZEUS KICKED OUT!

Shock turning to rage, Blockbuster rip the pad off of the top turnbuckle and tries another BusterBomb, but Zeus escapes with a high backdrop! The power of Olympus flowing through him, Zeus smites the champion with left hands and headbutts! Spinebuster! Blockbuster tries to escape by climbing the cage to escape, but Zeus yanks him down, face first onto the exposed turnbuckle! Thunder Bolt (Sit Out Powerbomb)! Olympian Clutch! Blockbuster tries to power free but Zeus rains down punches to the ears before locking the hold back in! Blockbuster fights... and struggles... and taps!!!!!

NEW CHAMPION: ZEUS MAXMILLION (16:12)

Twelve Labours Down.

Labours Complete.

Lightning Bolts strike all around the arena, tearing down the silver & black banners, and blowing up Blockbuster's speakers.

BOOM!

Four lightning bolts hit the ringposts. There's a brilliant flash of white... and when the smoke clears, Zeus Maxmillion and the CGC World Title are nowhere to be seen.

A solid show that scored pretty much as expected. I would have liked a better main event, but that really speaks to Blockbuster's limitations as World Champion. I love the guy and have enjoyed his reign, but it was time to make a change. He was out of challengers, and going forward he gets to do something different and chase for once. He's only 30. If he can work on his stamina and keep improving charisma, he'll be on top again some day.

Zeus Maxmillion finally completes his Labours, which is one of the ideas that took this from "a diary could be fun" to "a diary would be worth doing" in my head. This curse has been a recurring element of Zeus stories ever since I started writing CGC. Now I get to write the final chapter of that. I do wish the final build to his victory had been stronger. In execution, the deaf angle felt a little more midcard that I thought it would. It introduced DT Rush but reducing Zeus' chance to talk pushed things to the sidelines more than it should.

Zeus should be a strong Champion, and I'm not the only one who thinks so. He's also the reigning 4C and COTT Heavyweight Champion. 41 years old, but no time decline yet. Great gimmick. Good popularity. Muscular. Good brawler. Good talker. He looks like he's peaked, but he's not someone who needs improvement. He'll carry his challengers, whereas Blockbuster needed to be carried.

Only five matches on this card, and I'm okay with that. I challenged myself to set up matches differently this time, announcing them weeks in advance of this show.

Also had a clear up of the referees. Jonathon Taylor & Jez MacArtheur are no more ,and Shane Stones is coming in. I felt my referees had lost their credibility, and wanted a strict 'on-camera' character to do the officiating, at least for the Ultimate Showdown Series. I've also brought Royce Greig in. He's a little worse than my previous pair, but much younger. He'll grow into something special.

WOOOOOOO! GO ZEUS! I am absolutely here for this title reign, and the new colour scheme that we will see.

Ultimate Showdown Series: Blockbuster vs Bobby Thomas

Blockbuster regains his cred after losing his title.

Ultimate Showdown Series: Dice Elderberry vs Ian Identity

The Intrepid one shows his chops now that he's back.

Ultimate Showdown Series: Running Wolf vs Sayeed Ali

I hate having my boy Sayeed lose, but Running Wolf has the more compelling story of the two.

Ultimate Showdown Series: Skip Beau vs Torque

This is a pure mark pick. I just want that awful cheat Skip Beau to lose! He's such a jerk, and he betrayed Jack DeColt!

After everyone's fought their 7 matches, who do you think will win the Three Wishes?

You know what? I'm going to take a punt on Bobby Thomas. The Man Among Monsters has been trying so hard for so long, it would be a real feel-good story if he finally makes it through.

And who will be Exiled for 6 months?

This is tricky, and I'm going to bet on a result that would make me sad: Sayeed Ali. I love the East Side Assassin, but he could probably benefit from a rework. Faith can acquire another terrible boyfriend to tide her over.

Nice to see Zeus win the big one, also loved the whole 12 labours completed and Zeus disappearing, makes perfect sense. With the USS starting, the title would be a secondary storyline at best so give us something to intrigue us while the series takes its course only for Zeus wo return when it's done. Masterful booking.

Bobby Thomas

Hear me out, Buster has been champ for awhile now, so there's going to need to be an adjustment on his part. He'll expect his music to get louder and louder, but without the gold around his waist the CGC crew members have little problem in not turning up his music confusing him giving Bobby the win. I expect Buster to start poorly but end incredibly well.

Identity

Meant to put his name in the hat during the question on the last show but just forgot as I had a feeling he was going to be a big part of the show. Glad he got the win but given the field he seemed to be the only one who could have won it. Anyway, Identity has quite the bone to pick with DDE and he might be a little loony after being in that box for so long allowing him to win

Ali

Wolf needs development despite the excellent personal goal he has for himself in the series (also a great nod to the 97 adventures you had planned for your CGC 13 run) but Ali is more established, has more of an arc going his way and should have a good series

Skip

I feel Skip is going to have one hell of a series, only for it to come falling down after a DQ or two taking away his points leading to him losing the series

There are only 3 I see as potential winners (not exactly the right wording as this is thee most even field you'va had as truthfully anybody could win it but I mean storyline wise there's only 3 winners). Skip, he just seems like he'd have great ways to use the wishes, get back at Jack or Buster, turn face and go something with that, yadda yadda yadda. Identity, has a use for the wishes (getting back at Express Delivery) but seems like he could be on an arc to turn him heel allowing him to get to Zeus too. But I go with Ali. His past run ins with Zeus, his desire for the belt, they all lead me to see him getting the wishes.

Torque. . He needs to a change and with Greaser gone, he can develop his own persona, and you can implement that change over the series before banishment. Greaser can come back have his inevitable cage match with Dirty Dice and Torque can then come back with a new attitude. I feel it can only be Torquee or Dice that will be banished

Ultimate Showdown Series: Blockbuster vs Bobby Thomas

I do like DAVEFAN95 reasoning and could see it happen but I´m still going to go with Blockbuster as I don´t think you would build him up just to start losing streak when he drops the belt and if you would, thinking that someone else would get the benefit of the win than Bobby.

Ultimate Showdown Series: Dice Elderberry vs Ian Identity

Ian seems to come back with force and I´m assuming his momentum carries him past Dice on this one.

Ultimate Showdown Series: Running Wolf vs Sayeed Ali

All those promos make me think Ali is the one winning this Series so I back him up here.

Ultimate Showdown Series: Skip Beau vs Torque

Skip is singles guy while Torque is a tag guy so I go with 'skip on this one. That said, I could see that loss to Jack making Skip distracted enough to lose here. Also, fun fact, I actually have gone against my personal preference on all four of these picks so guess it doesn´t pay to be my favorite, huh? :p

After everyone's fought their 7 matches, who do you think will win the Three Wishes?

Tough one and if my earlier predictions are any indication, I´m going to change my mind multiple times during this series. :D As said earlier, Sayeed Ali would be my current pick based on the thinking that all those angles about him being denied for the title shot feel like a build up for his eventual title shot.

And who will be Exiled for 6 months?

Again, could be pretty much anyone depending on your plans but right now, I feel Dice Elderberry is the most likely option as Express Delivery can function without him and him being exiled gives a nice reason for them to drop the belts when that time comes.

Sunday Week 4 May 2019

Late Evening on Maple Leaf Sports

Molson Palais des Sports, Quebec

4,062 in attendance

WNQbcLB.jpg2gDxKln.jpg

Davis Ditterich "The colours have changed! The banners are hung! CGC has a new World Champion and his name is Zeus Maxmillion. What will his reign bring? We don't know. The Bronzed God disappeared in a bolt of lightning after his victory at 'Chaos in the Cage'."

Jack DeColt "Legends tells that Zeus was cursed to remain in CGC until he was able to complete 12 Labours, and only by completing them could he ascend to Mount Olympus to be with his fellow Gods. If I know Zeus he'll be back soon enough, representing the belt with pride."

Davis Ditterich "But first, it's here! It's finally here! And CGC matchmaker Alex DeColt is in the ring to tell us what to expect."

IN-RING

2lU3d2d.jpg

ALEX DECOLT

Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to the 9th annual Ultimate Showdown

Series! For the next eight weeks, eight of CGC finest combatants will

go to war in the ultimate endurance contest. The man who finishes

with the most points earns Three Wishes. Three all-powerful unbreakable

wishes that can be used to bend CGC to their will. Last year's victor Jack

DeColt used his wishes to make CGC a better place... mostly... but who

will win this year? And what will they-

fmOj4hK.jpg

BLOCKBUSTER storms down to the ring, furious at how quiet and tinny his music sounds coming out of the regular non-deafening CGC speaker system.

BLOCKBUSTER

I'll tell ya exactly what I'm gonna do with my Wishes, DeColt! I'm

gonna use them to get my title back. Ever since I became Champion

you've been hounded me. You hated that I was Champ! You threw

your old pals at me over and over and congratulations, boss man, you

got lucky at 'Chaos in the Cage'. I would have won but... but the sun

was in my eyes. And I had a tummy ache that day! Mark my words, it's

only gonna take one Wish to get my title back, and I'm going to use

the other to make everyone else's life around here a living hell. No

one's gonna be able to stop me. Not old man Alex in his suit. Not

old man Jack hiding on commentary. Not Zeus hiding in his fluffy

cloud with those god dorks.

ALEX DECOLT

A fine plan, Buster. I'm sure every single competitor in the

Ultimate Showdown Series has fine plans for those three wishes,

but remember; with great reward comes great risk. The loser of

the Series doesn't just leave with the humiliation of being in last

place. They're exiled. Sent home from Canadian Golden Combat

for six whole months. No fights. No winnings.

BLOCKBUSTER

That ain't gonna be me. Bring all of these dorks on! I'll send them

home permanantly.

Jack DeColt "Blockbuster ddefending the CGC World Title against Bobby Thomas several times this year, but Bobby's coming off a big win on Friday, and he's a veteran of the Ultimate Showdown Series."

Bobby looks for a submission victory, but Blockbuster is too big and strong. He thrashes and shreds and beats the veteran like a drum, but every time he attempts the BusterBomb (Powerbomb to Turnbuckles) it's countered into a hurancanranna. Blockbuster adapts, and tries to counter-the-counter, but Thomas turns it into a cross armbreaker, taking the former Champion down and stomping

Bobby wrenches with all his might, stomping on Buster's face, desperate for the submission, but Blockbuster powers free and drops him with a Powerbomb! Another! He tries one last BusterBomb, but Thomas slips free into a Sunset Flip! 1... 2... Buster kicks out and immediately eats a Super Kick! Catch the springboard. BusterBomb... but can't cover before

LOCKER ROOM

wOIZiSA.jpgfmOj4hK.jpg

BLOCKBUSTER is trashing the locker room.

SKIP BEAU

Relax, buddy. Everything's going to be okay. Sure, you had

a setback tonight... and on Friday... but there's still plenty of time

to go in the Ultimate Showdown Series. You're going to learn from

this and spend the next seven weeks dashing hopes and dreams

and spines against the turnbuckles. You know why? Because you're

the best. You don't need a demon. You don't need that faker Sayeed

Ali pretending to be your friend. You have me. We may not have any

belts around our waists right now, but deepdown you know what

we are in our hearts of heart. We're Champion Bros. It;s going to be

you and me in the finals, buddy, I can feel it. Two best friends fighting

over Three Wishes.

Blockbuster puts his fists through a wall.

BLOCKBUSTER

Fight? There won't be a fight. You wanna be my friend you're gonna

lay down for me, got itgot it? You, and everyone else! Those

Three Wishes are mine!!!

twPBOOt.jpg

va5qA6m.jpg

TORQUE

On Friday Night I let my partner down. I had the tape in my hand

and the victory in my sights, but I choked. A took my eye off the

finish line and... Now my partner's in the postal system. I let the

Gear-Heads down at 'Chaos in the Cage' but I won't let him down

in the USS. I'm coming out in pole position. I'm winning those three

wishes and I'm gonna use them to get our tag team titles back.

twPBOOt.jpg

(-) SKIP BEAU VS TORQUE (-)

wOIZiSA.jpggIVnf4J.jpgva5qA6m.jpg

Jack DeColt"Two young fighters looking for redemption. A victory in the Ultimate Showdown Series win make either of their careers."

Torque burns rubber until he's caught in a series of innovative backbreakers. The Gear-Head empties his toolbox of hammers, wrenches and drills, but Skip has another trick up his sleeve. He covertly slips on a pair of brass knuckles and knocks Torque out cold with a punch! 1... 2... Wait a second! Referee Shane Stone notices the brass knuckles, puts two and two together, and calls for the bell!

TORQUE WINS VIA DISQUALIFICATION (8:06)

(Skip Beau -1, Torque +2)

Jack DeColt "I tried to tell Skip that cheaters never prosper, and now look where it's got him. Shane Stones is going to run a very tight Ultimate Showdown Series."

(-) DIRTY DICE ELDERBERRY VS IAN IDENTITY (-)

gPKfhnA.jpggIVnf4J.jpg9SndfB4.jpg

Jack DeColt "After weeks trapped in a box, Identity returned at 'Chaos in the Cage' to qualify for the Ultimate Showdown Series. How he's in any condition to fight is beyond me."

Belching, farting, Dice throws his weight around, shoving Identity's face into disgusting folds of his flesh. Ian fights back with intense forearms and an incredible dropkick, but isn't strong enough to lift Dice for the Intrepid Arrow (Arrow Suplex). Dice laughs, but Ian twists, turns, takes him down and locks in a brutal double-underhook armbar. Dice screams in pain! He's incapacitated... and taps!

IAN IDENTITY WINS VIA SUBMISSION (5:31)

(Dice Elderberry +0, Ian Identity +3)

twPBOOt.jpg

IAN IDENTITY

You learn a lot when you're trapped in a box sailing over the Pacific

Ocean. Like when your box gets flipped over and you get jammed

upside down with your arms trapped behind you and you think "This

is the most painful position I've ever been in". And then the hours

pass and you think "No. I can make this worse." You get bored in

those hours upon hours at sea. You experiment. You get inventive.

You come up with the most painful submission hold ever designed

and dream of all the ways you can use it. I call it the Incapacitator,

and it's my ticket to winning the Ultimate Showdown Series.

SAYEED ALI

Running Wolf further interogates Ali about the enchanted tomahawk, but the New Yorker blatantly pushes his girlfriend at the rampaging Native American and uses the distraction to take the fight to the streets, where he can use the environment to his destructive advantage. Referee Shane Stones is having none of it! He demands the fight return to the ring, and now Wolf's at home. Tomahawk Chops! Big Back Body Drop!

DAVIS DITTERICH

Just enough time to catch up with our official Ultimate

Showdown Series panel to discuss how the contest

is going.

SHANE STONES

If nothing else, I hope these eight competitors see that I plan to

run a very tight ship. Canadian Golden Combat has a reputation for

shenanigans, and I won't have it. Not with this much on the line.

Skip Beau found out first hand what happens when you try to break

my rules. I will disqualify. I will dock points.

JACK DECOLT

Speaking of losing point, we saw the ten minute time limit play a big

part in two contests. Clearly Blockbuster is used to a more leisurely

pace during his World Title run, and it cost him.

JENNY PLAYMATE

I am so proud of Ian Identity. I was a little hurt when he asked to go

it alone during the Series, but I couldn't be happier to see him top

the leaderboard. Being trapped in that box for weeks on end must

have been a nightmare, but it's given him focus and drive like I've

never seen.

JACK DECOLT

And a brutal new submission. The bonus points for forcing your

opponent to tap can be vital. It helped me win the Series a number

of times. I expect to see more competitors try to leverage that in the

coming weeks. Bobby Thomas is a reknowned submission expert,

and we've even seen Dice Elderberry try out an... interesting...

new hold in recent weeks.

DAVIS DITTERICH

One week down, but the Series is far from over. We'll see you next

week, folks!

The Ultimate Showdown Series is a bit of a reset button for me. My rosters tend to spiral out of control, so cutting back and narrowing focus to 8-10 guys is nice. Especially when some of these guys haven't had the screen time they deserve.

Very happy with the main event rating. Seeing Bobby/Buster only get a D+ was a bit worrying. I thought maybe the time limit would hurt things, but ultimately I think that was more down to trying to keep Blockbuster strong in a storyline match. Ali/Wolf delivered... but I wonder what they'd do with 15-20 instead of 10.

Zeus winning the world title is crazy!! Any back story personally on why you did that? I don't think ive seen the trigger get pulled too many times with him, I love it.

I usually push Zeus Maxmillion as a top guy in my CGC games. He was a big part of my CGC: On With The Show which introduced his 12 Labours, and I really wanted to finish that story and go full circle with him. Plus, he's the closest thing to a complete package this roster has left on the babyface side (if you don't go with Jack). As much as the DeColts are the figureheads of CGC, it's hard to think of anyone that personifies my version of CGC than Zeus; a literal demi-god with lightning powers.
