Is booking easier on TEW 13 or TEW 16? I currently only have TEW 13 and im 6 shows in and they have all been trash. Losing money, losing popularity. I have storylines running, angles running, it makes no sense.

It will make sense - everything in the game happens for a reason and follows set patters and formulae, if you're struggling then it's because you're misunderstanding how things work, taking penalties, are playing a mod which is set up to be difficult, etc, not because the game has a set difficulty level. Getting better at TEW takes experience and taking the time to understand the game engine. You've only been playing a few days judging by your posts, so you simply haven't been playing long enough to understand the engine well enough to be "good" at TEW yet.

So in answer to your question, you won't get better grades and more success in any other TEW game because it's not a question of them being easier or harder, it's a question of you gaining experience and understanding what you're doing wrong and how to improve. You are better off asking for advice, reading up on how other people book, etc, than simply switching games. The community is likely to help you if you give details of what you're doing in your game.

Thank you Adam.

I have downloaded the July 2019 real world mod by Haz2221 (http://www.ewbattleground.com/topic/100764-tew-2013-july-2019-update/)

I am currently playing as Owner of AEW in this mod.

I have only been playing for 9 hours of game play, 5 TV shows & 1 PPV, with ratings in the 6 shows being from 42-58 rated. I've lost around $300K and every show i seem to gain popularity in 5-10 areas and at the same time also lose popularity in 10-15 areas (overall always losing popularity). My rep is set as Cult, my approval rating is just shown (-) and i'm the 3rd ranked promotion in the game with $5M cash. The "A show" is 2 hours long and the PPV is 3 hours long. I have now changed everyone's contract into "Written Contract" so that they are available for AEW only.

I have set up 4 storylines; Lucha Bros Vs SCU, Moxley Vs Omega, Bea Priestley Vs Britt Baker & Pac Vs Hangman Page. I run an angle in every show for all 4 of these storylines so that they advance. I have had matches end due to some of these guys attacking the others etc, Bea cost Britt her match against Mercedes Martinez for example.

I have noticed every single Women's match i do had a rating of like 15-20 red awful match rating. Also any match i do as a "main event (major) timed match (17mins) i get feedback that the workers were both too tired etc.

What could i be doing wrong?

Do you have the Dirt Sheet turned on? You active it via your preferences (in Options). If activated, you will get access to the Dirt Sheet button when viewing matches and angles and you can see exactly what penalties you are getting. That would be the best place to start.

You should also compare your company's popularity to the popularity of your wrestlers. You may find that there's a big disparity because of how much of their roster is made up of unknown independent wrestlers - if you are running a popularity-based product then that would make life very tough for you and you may need to hire people with name value. (That's going to be the case in most mods because AEW in reality have a popularity that completely disproportionate to their roster.) In particular, I'd imagine your issue with the women is directly because they're unlikely to be anywhere near popular enough to not give you terrible ratings.

That could be the case indeed. My most popular workers are Chris Jericho 70-75 in most areas, Jon Moxley 70, Cody 70, Kenny Omega 55, Pac 55, Young Bucks 55 and then most of the Women & Tag Team popularity is like 20-55 max & all my championships have like 20 prestige.

Do you know why my "Approval Rating" is show as "-" where as WWE's is shown as "Excellent". What does - mean?

I do not believe i had the Dirt Sheet turned on, i shall turn that on and have a read up. How do i switch from being a popularity based product to something else?

It sounds like you are the owner; you don't have an approval rating if you own the company as you can't fire yourself.

That is decided by your product. Office -> Product.

What type of product would you suggest for a big company with poor worker popularity?

I am thinking about just buying TEW 16 as they have a much more recent mod which is updated monthly, so i'm sure the AEW mod would be much more realistic than the one im using on TEW 13.

Also can i play TEW 16 in full screen?

Thank you for your help Adam.

I'd go for a product that is workrate-heavy. One of the first lines in the list of pros and cons for the product will tell you what its breakdown of popularity vs workrate is.

Note that AEW will likely be "hard mode" in any game due to how their real-life currently is compared to their popularity. You may find it easier to play as WWE to begin with so that you can get used to how things work.

TEW2016 is the same screen size as TEW2013. TEW2020 is larger.

Can i change Worker popularity myself in-game? I feel like even Omega at 50-55 popularity seems very low.

Okay so changing from popularity to workrate-heavy should improve my show ratings?

Can i use TEW2016 databases or graphics in TEW2013?

When will TEW2020 be released?

Thanks again.

Currently 2020 is anticipated for an Apr-July release of 2020. With AEW, yes you'd probably be better off changing to a performance > popularity model should help your match ratings.

You can change popularity in the in game editor under the individual worker and then their popularity -- though Omega being at a 50-55 popularity in the US seems very accurate. He's not a national star by any stretch of the imagination in the US as most of his notoriety is with a hardcore fanbase and has not yet translated to full blown mainstream appeal.

You can use 16 graphics but not 16 databases.

If the product setting are popularity over performance that sounds like your going to have trouble. You don’t have enough popular wrestlers to compete. At least for now. Remember the main event has by far the biggest impact on the overall show grade. With second highest rated match also having a smaller impact. The rest of the card only impacts the show grade by 10%. If the women’s match tanks that had little impact on the show grade.

The show needs to be about 10 points higher than your area popularity to increase. The show grade needs to at least match your area popularity. The problem is you only have 3 workers who are really at a cult level.

AEW because of the promotion is going to be difficult not necessarily the game itself. Also signing your workers to written contracts might not have been the best idea finically that can be very expensive. I might have done 10 so I could run house shows & certainly not the 10 most expensive workers.

Also cult has a higher degree of production expensive than regional (by far). It might be exciting to run AEW but you might want to try a regional promotion to get your feet wet. Than start over with AEW.

Thank you for your reply.

Perhaps you are right about Omega, however there is for sure some workers with super low popularity in the mod i am using, like Lucha Bros being 20 popularity for example in USA & 40 in Mexico. MJF has like 10 microphone skills when it should be 50-60 at least imo.

Where exactly in-game do i edit ratings for workers?

I have actually downloaded a TEW2016 graphic workers pack and placed it inside the TEW2013 one i already have and they are not showing up in game when trying to change a workers picture? Should i have deleted the TEW2013 graphic folder and added the TEW2016 one rather than placing the file inside the TEW2013 graphics file?

Thanks for the information, i read through a lot of the in-game help stuff and didn't see any of this, so thanks.

<p>There are also several real world mods available... there are at least 3 on the boards here that may interest you and that you may like more than the one you are currently using. <a href="http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=242" rel="external nofollow">HERE</a> is the TEW16 mods forum. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

EDIT: Fleisch / southside_hitmen make a great real world mod (my favourite), though landxx and TheWho also make popular current day real world mods that are worth a look depending on what kind of data you like. Each has their strengths, it's a player's choice on what you prefer and finding a mod that lines up to your own expectations may help you understand the game more too. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

How can i get my Women's division over more? Every single Women's match i put on is an F. No one has higher popularity than 20, most have 5-10. Any tips? It's hard for storylines to even progress when one has been going 4 weeks and has a rating of 9 haha.</p>

This is why you're getting Fs in the womens matches. I know this is going to be a very, very gross oversimplification, but my rule of thumb is that I can count on my workers to pull out at least a grade lower than their popularity for matches. For example, if I have 2 A pop workers in a match in a popularity promotion, I can comfortably say they will have at least a B- or B match.

As far as getting your workers higher popularity without the editor (this may seem a bit gamey), have them interact with higher popularity workers. Otherwise, give your workers significant wins and they'll eventually increase in popularity. Depending on the worker and the "amount of force" you give the push, it could be a pretty quick raise in popularity or very gradual.

Also, if you're playing a real world mod and you're not playing as, say WWE or NJPW, you're facing a different set of challenges than larger promotions just by virtue of the game.

Mods generally aren’t a great method to learn the game.

One, the game balance usually isn’t great.

Two, the biggest issue with mods is that the grading is just one dudes opinion and doesn’t reflect how a lot of performers are actually perceived. For example, you may want to run promos with The Briscoes since Jay Briscoe is one of the best promo in wrestling, but I think the latest version of RWC has him in the 60s in entertainment.

Also you will have a hard time in general if your workers aren’t Japanese, since they have incredibly overtuned stats compared to their American counterparts, even the mediocre midcards like CIMA have near Hall of Immortals levels stats.
