Incredible Main Event here, the second highest rated TV Main Event of the year so far (Second to Reigns, Bryan, Orton and McIntyre from Smackdown a few weeks ago!!). Rusev and Cole showed very good chemistry, in a match that flowed well, but had some dangerous moments too. Rusev planted Cole on his head with a DDT at one point, and everyone was worried for the well-being of the NXT Champion. In the end though, as Rusev was attempting to lock Cole in his 'Accolade', Bobby Lashley and Lana showed up at ringside and distracted him! He's 40 years old. His popularity is right at the very bottom of the card, so he's what I would call pretty pointless. Beating him does nothing for any up and comers, and I'm not going to be pushing him, so he's off. Shame, but had to be done. So, before we get to the Royal Rumble Pay-per-view Predictions, I just thought I'd comment on how I like to book Royal Rumble Matches, and roughly how this one will be framed. In this years actual Men's Rumble Match, it was a Rumble of two halves. The first half, I'm torn on. In some ways, it was terrible. I hated seeing Kofi, John Morrison, Shelton and a few others, treated like that by Brock Lesnar. That said, it was different, and I popped big for Drew when he eventually kicked his stupid face over the top rope! The second half of the match is how I like to book Rumbles, because my favourite ones all go that way. Ring fills up a little, a few eliminations, ring fills up a little, a few more eliminations, etc. But the crucial thing for me, is having multiple potential winners, and on the Men's side this year, I think I have TEN!</div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;">

From Smackdown, Daniel Bryan, Kevin Owens, Randy Orton, Roman Reigns and Drew McIntyre are five of the 'Big Six' on the show (Brock as Champion being the sixth, and not in action). RAW has AJ Styles, who is always a threat, as well as Kofi Kingston and King Corbin, who could well join forces. Kofi and AJ are two of RAW's top six guys too. Then there's NXT. Johnny Gargano and Samoa Joe are in a rivalry right now, and could both potentially win the big one, and go on to face Adam Cole at WrestleMania Weekend. If those are my top ten, I then also have guys like Ciampa, Black, Riddle, Lee, Ricochet, WALTER and Velveteen Dream just beneath them, and a couple of surprises up my sleeve too.</div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;">

As for the Women's Match, Asuka, Kairi Sane and Bayley make up RAW's major threats. Smackdown have only names a handful of talents so far, but Naomi is great, and I'm a huge fan of Toni Storm. NXT's Natalya, Bianca BelAir and Io Shirai are not to be overlooked, and Sonya DeVille has been booked strong from a second tier perspective too. But there are three BIG names I've not mentioned on the Women's side of things. Three BIG surprise entrants who are all potential winners.
