Wrestlers can generally play their own character but they are not trained actors, which can generally be evidenced by how badly their movies do. Hulk Hogan is a terrible actor (probably as low as the 50s or maybe 60s) compared to his charisma and mic skills (80s). Acting is about all the little non-verbal things that people can do, the subtleties that communicate something that words aren’t. It might be a little expression, a look or a tic of some sort… just those little things that you might not even notice but that sell the character to you in the context of what is going on. Given that wrestling is closer to pantomime than movie acting, this stat is something that most wrestlers aren’t as good at since they are looking to scale things up rather than be subtle. There aren’t many wrestlers now that I’d give more than an 80 to in this stat, but one of them would be The Rock, who has proven he is better than your average. Another would be The Undertaker… admittedly he doesn’t do anything except be Undertaker, but he has so many little things he can do that he is one of the best actors in pro wrestling. It might be worth universally dropping Acting a bit if the above is accurate. I would imagine the likes of Bray, Taker, even Dustin Rhodes would be relativley high (say 80 or so?) but there aren't many guys out there at the moment that would maybe be considered really good in the acting department. One example would be Kamille who hasn't spoken a word in over a year with NWA but her 'acting' her body language etc has been very good. Stick her in a movie tho, and she would probably be terrible. I think with a lot of the default angles being based on a combination of the entertainment attributes that does make sense. Acting being relative to the world of wrestling is a sensible approach too. I have always personally been quite stringent to Derek's definitions though with him being very much an in-depth quality tester for the game. Maybe having them too low will make entertainment angles suffer as a result. My personal preference is to have the angles split out a bit so that a standard promo is purely microphone where charisma would help bump it up, used really to get the "butts in seats". Acting could maybe then be judged on actual storyline segments to help the storylines along etc. I think that is more in-game mechanics though tbf. Charisma ideally should be an underlying attribute of the whole worker, not just entertainment. Their in-ring and promos etc. could then be influenced by it. That leaves Microphone and Acting as the two Entertainment attributes that can be split on promo work (mic) and storyline (acting) segments. TEW20 has a show level specifically for "tour" level shows that will be amazing for mods, so hopefully it works well with this schedule when the game gets that far. List him as a free agent and let the player decide approach. AEW and Matt Hardy are both proven to troll a bit and use cryptic stuff for misdirection. So even though we have the Young Bucks showing up the freethedelete videos and stuff like this, until Hardy shows up or they announce he signed I would say leave him as a free agent. Spoilers for AEW Dynamite We can now confirm Lance Archer is the one being managed by Roberts. And no word on Brodie Lee at this time. gazwefc83 Posted March 13, 2020 Author Share Posted March 13, 2020 I've gone through the worker skills once again, I very happy with them now to the point were no more changes will be made unless its done in error. So... With a month or so before the scheduled release on TEW 2020. What extra details would you like to see added to the mod? possibly things that are usually overlooked or missed due to the amount of time it would take to complete. I don't want to add contract time remaining as I like the randomness when starting a new game. Lukkearthur Posted March 13, 2020 Share Posted March 13, 2020 A few more things I noticed from playing: Toni Storm should probably have a dev deal with WWE as she appeared in the Rumble and seems to be a mainstay Danhausen would be a great addition to the mod I also think GCW would be a better addition over a company like CZW, theyre definitely making bigger waves especially around Mania theyre credited for giving the spotlight to people like Jungle Boy and Marko Stunt Josh Bodom should be on hiatus or out of the biz after he quit Ryan Smile is out of retirement sadly dudes a dick so probably a matter of time till hes ran out again Dragon Lee should maybe be a heel to align with King and Rush in LFI I love that everyone in this mod more or less has a realistic gimmick as opposed to being set a generic one. It saves me so much more time in saves than when i used to have to go through every worker setting gimmicks. Really enjoying the mod so far splitting my time between this and working on the 2008 one.
