Blazing Triumph Press Conference

The press conference kicks off with Komine, Packer and Bruce fielding questions from the media. Packer is very happy with the reception BSOTI has had so far as well as event attendance. In regards to the touring shows, there have only been two that haven’t been sell outs and even those were a 100 or so people short of selling out.

Packer and Komine also discuss the event ratings and how most of the shows have scored better than the Burning Hammer shows. Never one to be overly humble, Komine uses this opportunity to again warn Takeda that he better get his house in order before it gets burnt to the ground.

Once the Q&A portion is done Bruce previews the match card for everyone in attendance highlighting the higher stakes matchups including the finals of the Blazing World Heavyweight Tournament.

Finally it was time for the highlight of the evening. The real reason people showed up, the contract signing between Hoshino and Senmatsu.

Both men walk with purpose to the press table where Bruce is waiting with the contract. The crowd can sense that this is all business between these two men. Senmatsu grabs the pen and the contract and quickly signs his name without even reading it. He slides the contract across the table to where Hoshino is sitting and then and then slams the pointy end of the pen into the wooden table a couple inches away from Hoshino’s hand.

The ever charismatic Hoshino glances at the pen that just near missed impaling his hand, lets out a chuckle and flashes a big smile. Hoshino pulls his own pen out of his pocket and signs the contract.

Both men quickly get up out of their chairs and have a brief staredown.

Suddenly NEO crashed the press conference and the three men surround Hoshino and Senmatsu. The trio rushes Hoshino and Senmatsu and a melee ensues.

The two men fight bravely but they are eventually overwhelmed by NEO. NEO continues their vicious assault until…

Mito Miwa rushes in with a kendo stick and cracks it over the back of Ino, then two more stiff swings to the back of each member of Black Magic.

NEO quickly retreats as Hoshino hugs his old friend.

Hoshino grabs a mic and announces that Miwa will be in his corner at Blazing Triumph!!

- The opening match was a fast paced affair that got the crowd hot right from the beginning.

Funakoshi, Torii and Hyobanshi. SUKI and Kuroki all move to the center of the ring ready to fight with both the members of Black Lion and Gold Lion backing them up.

The men smile at each other then turn around and jump their former friends and allies, quickly clearing the ring of both Factions.

Then a familiar graphic appears on the big screen…

The five men raise their arms victorious and Hyobanshi grabs a microphone.

“These two groups of fools, still holding onto grudges from a previous life. What a joke. We don’t care about who used to write our checks. We don’t care about bringing prestige to two dying promotions…

All we care about is being the Strongest Lion!”

Fatal Four-Way

- This match featured very little psychology as all four teams showcased their strength using mainly power moves and stiff strikes

- Black Magic and Daniels & Gauge were head and shoulders above everyone else performance wise as the two other teams were very green and have not been tagging together very long.

- Black Magic ends up getting the victory as they were just too big and strong for the other teams to overcome.

The National Openweight Championship match is set to begin with The Abbott being the first one out.

The arena goes dark except for a spotlight on the entrance ramp. The fans here a voice over the PA system:

“When I was little, my father was famous

He was the greatest samurai in the empire

And he was the Shogun's decapitator

He cut off the heads of a hundred and thirty-one lords

It was a bad time for the empire

The Shogun just stayed inside his castle and he never came out

People said his brain was infected by devils

My father would come home, he would forget about the killings

He wasn't scared of the Shogun, but the Shogun was scared of him

Maybe that was the problem

Then, one night, the Shogun sent his ninja spies to our house

They were supposed to kill my father but they didn't

That was the night everything changed”

Two monks on either side of the entrance ramp walk slowly to ringside carrying lanterns with purple smoke billowing out of them.

At the top of the ramp there is a large sled with a decorative golden throne on top. Sitting atop the throne is The Abbott flanked on either side of him by Japanese Phoenix, Stealth Z and Golden Arms Sugimura.

The sled is slowly pulled down the entrance ramp to ringside by several men dressed in all black wearing black masks.

Once the sled reaches the bottom of the entrance ramp the men in black all kneel down on their knees making a walkway from the front of the sled to the ring stairs.

The Abbott jumps down off the throne and steps off the sled, walking on the backs of the men in black all the way to the ring stairs. He enters the rings as Japanese Phoenix, Stealth Z and Golden Arms watch from ringside.

- One of the better matches of the night, The Abbott proves to the world that he belongs in the upper card as he successfully runs the gauntlet

- Washi Heat through a fit about doing the job but he has never been someone that could be a top singles guy. More of a gatekeeper. The plan was to get The Abbott over at this time

- This match started out like it was going to be an instant classic. Both men left everything in that ring, doing whatever they could to win. This was a classic match with two men that wanted to win the championship, no bad blood, no factions, just two men giving it their all to become the champ.

- Of course NEO came to ringside but Miwa brought his trusted Kendo Stick to the ring and did a great job of keeping NEO from interfering in the beginning.

- Towards the end of the bought though Senmatsu went for a Super Smash Lariat and Hoshino ducked out of the way, causing Senmatsu to knock out the referee

- Once the ref was down all three members of NEO jumped up on the ring apron taunting both Senmatsu and Hoshino when Miwas jumped in the ring to even the odds. As Miwa rushed the members of NEO Senmatsu ran over to help. Hoshino nailed Snematsu from behind then hit him with a low blow and the Godzilla Plunge. As NEO subdued Miwa, Hoshino pinned a down Senmatsu to win the Blazing World HW Championship!

After the match Hoshino runs over and embraces the three members of NEO. Much to the crowd's disappointment it looks like Hoshino is the fourth member of NEO. He grabs a microphone and taunts the crowd about how the four of them swerved everybody!

Mito Miwa jumps back in the ring and pleads with Hoshino to do the right thing. He doesn;t need to side with these scumbags.

Hoshino sucker punches Miwa and Black Magic proceeds to pummel him with a double powerbomb.

As NEO continues to celebrate suddenly the lights go out…

It’s Mathew Keith!!!!

The crowd pops huge as he walks down the entrance ramp and enters the ring.

He is greeted by members of The Pinnacle and a huge hug from his brother.

Keith slowly walks over to Hoshino in the center of the ring, They stare each other down and just when it looks like they are going to fight, Keith turns his back to walk away. Hoshino lets out an arrogant laugh when all of the sudden Keith turns around, kicks Hoshino in the gut and drops him with a Stunner!

The crowd goes crazy as the show goes off the air.

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. I wanted to bring in someone from Hoshino's past as an allie an Miwa seemed like a perfect choice being that they were such a successful team in PGHW. Of course we all know how that worked out if you have read through the ppv summary.

For some reason your comment wasn't showing up until just now so my bad for not seeing it. I got pretty hyped about the entrance idea for The Abbott as well and he seems to be a very popular character among the people following so why not push him hard. Plus that group lets me do some weird Lucha Underground type stuff that you wouldn't normally do in a standard puro promotion so they have been a lot of fun to write for.

Who doesn't pop for Hail To The King! Seriously though it's got wrestling entrance theme written all over it. Why the dislike for Mathew Keith though? I would imagine bringing him over would be a huge blow for Burning Hammer.

And yes, Strongest Lion is pretty much a super group. How long a group with that much star power can stay together is the question? I did enjoy booking the swerve though. Hoshino is such a natural fan favorite I imagined the nuclear heat that would come with him joining NEO.

The show starts off with Komine and Packer sitting at a control desk in an army bunker themed set. There are all kinds of gauges and buttons around them giving it the look of an actual war room. Behind the two is a big board, deemed the Warzone, featuring the BSOTI and BHOTWG logos on either side.

Komine: “Greetings wrestling fans, I’m joined by my friend and broadcast partner Allen Packer and we are excited to bring you the first episode of Komine’s War Room. Every month we are active we will be breaking down the war between ourselves and those no good Burning Hammer pansy’s, tracking our progress, comparing head to head shows and eventually celebrating their demise.”

Packer: “That’s right Komine, here’s hoping we continue serving Kaneko and his minions a heaping portion of whoop ass! The war started just four short weeks ago but we’ve already seen defections, betrayals and star studded debuts. How about that Matthew Keith debut on Saturday? That will surely be giving Kaneko fits!”

Komine: “I certainly hope so Packer-san! Come to think of it, it looks like we have some footage of Kaneko watching Blazing Triumph on Saturday. Let’s show that to the viewers…”

When the camera cuts back to the studio Komine and Packer are both doubled over laughing -

Komine: “Well that was hilarious! Kaneko looks better than ever!”

Packer: “Definitely and improvement that’s for sure! We’ll be back after a short word from our sponsors.”

After a few short commercials the cameras cut back to the studio…

Komine: “And now it’s time for the musical portion of the show, we’re playing a classic song dedicated to how we feel about Burning Hammer! Today’s selection needs no introduction. Takeda I hope you're watching because this one’s for you! Play the video…”

Komine: “Now let’s take a look at the War Zone board to see the head to head ratings for each promotion:”

This whole diary is great, from the shows to the segments. Feels very authentic from what little I know of the puro scene. Diaries like this help me understand how to book them in my own games as well so truly appreciate them all.

OOC: I haven't finished writing up the opening press conference yet but I figured I would give everyone I peek at the blocks for the Unbreakable Spirit Junior Tag League as it ramps up next month. I brought some talent in on touring contracts for the tournament as well and if they do well some of them may end up permanent roster members.
