Cyhort
I realized recently that I've basically been booking the formation of AEW for the past three games by creating a core group of wrestlers in the editor who are friends, giving them a promotion history either as indy darlings or underused but talented big promotion workers, and having them form a company. I've even given their promotion TV deals on major networks, or their own subscription service. I never even drew the comparison to AEW until I was thinking about what I was gonna do with the database when the demo comes out, lol. Any of you guys ever do something similar? Book some storyline or angle in TEW and then see something similar happen in real life?
FINisher
Nope, since I've only played with Cornellverse (since it was created, not counting the EWD days). <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />
Historian
Well, in The Climb, I introduced a TV Title that you would win and defend seven times and then you would cash it in for a shot at a more prestigious title -- and then the NWA did the same thing. In SMW, the TV champ would win $1,000 for every successful title defense, and if he could defend it 5 consecutive times, he would receive an additional $5,000 and the title would be vacated. </p><p> </p><p> I do prefer your shot at a higher-ranking title for a set amount of successful defenses better than a larger cash prize though, as I did the same thing in an old C-Verse save with a custom promotion modeled after Bill Watts' UWF. 10 successful defenses would vacate the title and make the former champion the #1 contender to my IC title equivalent, the Midwest title.</p>

That's what I used as my model to build my belt (not saying I was particularly original, just that I booked it and then it was on NWA, it is probably a coincidence). I liked the defenses getting you a title shot as well because I felt it built up the prestige of both titles. The TV Title was a stepping stone to bigger titles which meant those bigger titles (in my case the United States) was more prestigious because people had to really earn shots.</p>
stillnotover
I tweaked one of the first real world mods in 16 so I could sign Ronda Rousey. Didn't have her debut at WrestleMania against HHH and Steph but I did have her beat Alexa Bliss for the Raw women's title. And I always was a sucker for Becks so that was going to be her next feud before I got distracted. Not as cool as you forming your own AEW
PFElton
The CVerse did a terrific job foreshadowing the state of American pro wrestling in 2019 by its own state in 1996.
Blake Trask
I did something very reminiscent of Daniel Bryan's run to the world title before it happened IRL. Less evil McMahonery though.

adam.TEW
<p>Yes, 100s of things that at the time seemed rather not realistic. Bryan Danielson (Daniel Bryan) winning Wrestlemania 30's main event, signing Japanese rising talents to WWE such as Nakamura & KENTA (Hideo Itami), Goldberg returning to feud Lesnar, booked some world title-runs about 10 years before they happened, predicted some talents to go from Jr. to Heavyweights in Puroresu. I guess everyone who mostly plays RL mods and takes over smaller promotions has that happen a lot cause wrestling is a small world and there's not that many top level-talents out there, many things were a bit predictable. For example, around 2005-2010 you could sense Danielson would become the next Benoit / Angle type wrestler that would get anyone to a good match, even a horrible wrestler and would take over their footsteps in bigger promotions, TNA or WWE. </p><p> </p><p> For TNAs top talents like Joe & AJ Styles it was only a matter of time before they would go to WWE as TNA started to crumble and there was really no other place to go for them, same for Prince Devitt and Omega after spending many years in Japan (at least Omega went to a new / 2nd biggest promotion then).</p><p> </p><p> The only talents I am surprised didn't quite make it on the big stage yet despite me booking them there over and over are guys like Jimmy Jacobs or The Briscoe Brothers.</p>
Everything Ken
<p>I didn't actually book this until well after it had actually happened, but I planned for an all womens WWE PPV long before WWE publicly announced Evolution and it was roughly the same time (mine was in Nov Week 1 and WWE's was last week of October) and I booked it 2017. </p><p> </p><p> I originally called it a womens initialism of WWE, but I liked Evolution better than that. But, I planned the concept long before they announced it.</p>
Vinsmoker
Not in TEW, but "Air Boom" had been a Tag-team under that exact name ever since Evan Bourne appeared in a WWE game.
TEWFan
I basically did the Otis/Mandy angle with Typhoon and Sunny in my WWF 94 save.
AldousKing
On an older game I had The Rock coming out of retirement, beating Cena, and then becoming world champion again. Crazy that actually happened. Also had Styles joining WWE and becoming world champion. Those are probably the two big ones.
Diablox
Not a huge change to make game-wise but I had Kevin Owens start using a Stunner as his finishing move a few months before it started happening. Fortunately for me I told my brother-in-law about doing this in ‘my game’ so when it happened he was suitably impressed! What hasn’t yet happened in real life is for Stone Cold to come back & feud with Owens over his use of the Stunner with Austin losing to Owens to pass the torch, via this special move... With the aging Steve Austin, did you get a good score for that match? or it was a mid-card 'I don't care' match on the PPV?
Munit
I would always sign punk, styles, Daniel's, joe, danielson, etc and give them a title run back around 05 to 08ish. I remember people saying it was unrealistic and wwe would never give those guys the chance. How the times have changed.

pat666
What a brilliant idea for a title. Yup was thinking the same thing.. then I started thinking, WoW that must be hell of planning World title contenders + TV Contenders. To officially book your World Champ vs Former TV champ, you need to have your World Champ not involved in anything at the same time as your TV Champ hitting the 7 Defense to start the storyline. I might try this, I just don't know how I'll be able to plan this.

In the 'how do you plan thread' I went over how I usually plan out my divisions and feuds, but it does take some planning. My key was making sure that enough TV Title holders didn't hit the seven defense mark and when I knew I was going to have one who hit it, I made sure it fit in to when the champion he would be challenging would be wrapping up their programs so it could be a natural change.</p>
vtechguy
All the time with TNA. I'd book something like Konnan gets killed in a drive by shooting gang war and then later that month they did the same thing with a kid to do old LAX vs new LAX. Diablox
With the aging Steve Austin, did you get a good score for that match? or it was a mid-card 'I don't care' match on the PPV? Really wasn’t a great score but I mainly used Austin in promo segments leading up to it to make the feud worthwhile. I tried Austin out in a dark match beforehand to find out what he had left & that helped me place it on the card, I.e. lost between other good matches. My main aim for the game was the story rather than the grades anyway so it didn’t matter too much.
