General Gameplay Questions Thread

Does anybody got that handy chart that shows about the tiers of crowd heat and what kind of matches you need to elevate/control it? It's a very handy chart that helps me learned the game.

I lost my saved copy and now when trying to search the forums yield no result. I swear someone made one in the first month after the game released. Does anybody saved it? Was it deleted because some update make it obsolete?

Sorry if this might be obvious, but how do child companies work in this game? I just opened one in Japan and the company doesnt appear to be sigining any workers. Do I have to sign them all myself? Or is there a lack of workers perhaps?

In TEW 2016, iirc there was a setting where you could change between an automatic or manual hiring system. Does that still exist?

If you open one, you have to sign all of the wrestlers and non-wrestlers (i.e. refs, road agents, etc.).

End agreement to send development workers to them (in relationships), this way they will act autonomously and hire whoever they like you'll only need to hire booker and CEO, you will still be able to take anyone from their roster just won't be able to send anyone there. After you do this give them a few days to hire people, it shouldn't take more than a week.

I foolishly left autosave on and, after two mediocre shows, lost several TV deals despite very high ratings (I know others have complained about that, so I won't). Unfortunately, the game forces companies to wait a year before negotiating with you if you've lost a TV deal. Is there any way around this? It's a really unrealistic way for the broadcasters to behave, as show with the ratings mine have would be picked up immediately. The game is now essentially in limbo until I can sign some new deals, since we can't grow without exposure. Thanks in advance.

EDIT:

I figure I should share what I did in case others encounter this issue. THIS ONLY WORKS IF YOU STILL HAVE AT LEAST ONE BROADCASTER PER SHOW. If you've been dropped en masse, this won't help.

I still had CanalSat broadcasting all of my shows, so I simply went into the in game editor and changed their coverage. They now cover Mexico and Canada, the two regions I lost broadcasters. If you have existing deals with, say Vimeo (Oceania), you can either try to cancel the deals or just adjust CanalSat's coverage to not include the region. One tip: while you can't enter into new deals when you're in your "loses slot" cool down period, you CAN renew contracts. So if you're deals are about to expire, renew them before they do. Once they expire, you won't be able to do this.

I have eight months until I can sign TV deals again, so this workaround will prevent my popularity from freefalling and, more importantly, mirrors real world broadcasting mechanics, which would not see a show with millions of viewers left without a home due to a dispute with specific broadcasters.

I'm curious about this - is there a way to run double shots without impacting attendance for both nights? i.e. NJPW getting about the same attendance for WK nights 1 & 2 for two years straight now. I have played around with the events a few times, and the second show is always impacted quite a bit in terms of attendance, even if it's in a different location.

I think this might be due to one of the shows being set to a season finale which automatically gets a massive boost. I run back to back shows a lot in many promotions and usually the attendance is similar, unless one event has much more importance (like the last show of a tournament weekend). So if the first show has more importance and is set to season finale that likely does it.

Is there any revenue difference between commercial and subscription broadcasters aside from running cost? I just switched from WrestleWorld to my own which is commercial and aside from running cost the broadcasting money i earn are about the same if you take into account the profit split and viewing numbers.

Sadly, that isn't the case for me. When I run a normal event one day (lets say Monday), it'll draw 30,000 and then the next show on Tuesday will hit 10,000 or less. I'm going to experiment more.

Try doing two day tour with high importance and cheap ticket prices

I'm running a touring company right now (BHOTWG), and I'm trying to replicate what NJPW would do with the G1, as all the shows in the G1 tend to be a bigger deal than a standard tour show. They have 19 shows in a month, and replicating a round robin tournament like that could be a lot of fun. That is why I was hoping I could get several shows over a few days to hit the 10-15,000 mark easily, but they seem to start at 30,000 then drop to 5000.

Having a show with a tour title be high importance is a bit difficult naturally, and I don't want to use the editor to set them all to high importance.

I have no idea what happened, but the shows are all drawing as normal now. Must have had something to do with the state of the industry or something.

Thank you all for the help!

EDIT: I was wrong haha. First two shows of the tour did 30,000, next show (a few days later in a different region) did 10,000, and it's normally a place where I would draw 30,000. I'm guessing it's a case of diminishing returns, which is fine. I was hoping there was a way to do "normal" shows rather than tour ones to try and replicate what NJPW does with NJPW World, but I guess that's not strictly possible unless tour shows could be shown without it being highlights. That's okay though. I'll just use my imagination for the tour shows as being shown in full, and having a few normal shows scattered throughout the tours to maximize attendance a few times.

It's funny you're discussing this, because I just had a similar attendance glitch. My average attendance went from 16-17k per A show to 6-7k. PPV (i.e. special event) attendance dipped slightly, but only from 55-60k down to 53-58k. I changed absolutely nothing, though it did happen right after I updated to the newest version of the game.

Sorry I don't have any wisdom, I can only empathize.

I really hope that I'm able to explain this...

I am playing a real world mod and running a medium sized company. I have one PPV deal, Cablevision and one tv deal on WGN.

My PPV buys were doing really well, until I created my own network and started showing my events on it, while also still showing it on Cablevision because they were allowing me to show it on both.

My last PPV buys on Cablevision before putting them also on my own network were: 341,879

My PPV buys on Cablevision now, after putting it also on my own network are: 0 Buys (for the past five months)

Viewers on WGN before I put my show, also on my own network were: 534,981

Viewers now on WGN, after I put the show also on my network are: 0 viewers

I also lost all my PPV revenue, when I started airing them also on my own network.

My game is up to date and everything else is working just fine. I was also having this problem before the most recent patch.

Has anyone else experienced this?
