how bad is this news in terms of real-world mods/historical data?

 

Pretty bad. Two great, long time modders I know have already quit the past week. Expecting more to follow suit.

That might be to do with specific gimmick penalties for some of the guys who lost, I dunno. I got Rocky to agree to put Scythe over immediately. Strapping the rocket to the monster... for a month before he loses the belt back to Rocky. I just couldn't stomach giving up Scythe's white hot momentum for a loss in his first title match.</p><p> </p><p> Anyway, really enjoying this game. My complaints now would be that I really need the Search Tag Team section not to be fixed to the new list-scheme as it renders it unusable for me (insane amount of clicking) and it's such a great and useful feature that being unable to use it would be a real shame. I also would love to be able to select a segment and move it freely without having to move my mouse and click that arrow each time. I'd settle for a button on that booking screen that just toggles whether your next segment goes to the top or bottom of the card - I'm having to swap that once or twice per show because I book kinda freeform according to feuds and like to fix the match order later. Also noticed that double clicking some road agent notes led them to choosing the opposite person - ie. double-clicking "dominate" for a Scythe vs. Jobber match would pick the jobber as the dominator despite me specifying it be Scythe.</p><p> </p><p> Anyway, these are all smallish quality of life things and I'm sure the ones that can be fixed/altered along the way will be. I'm very happy with the game right now and really looking forward to retail release so I feel confident in starting a proper save.</p>

Literally the last thing I want is for scrollable popularity and in ring on the roster screen. Everything else...it just sucks you in. My friend and I played through a month tonight and it was crazy how much I enjoyed it. I haven't enjoyed a TEW save like this probably since 2018 where we went a year. The attributes can be especially fun -- Edge being a serial cheater comes to mind -- and being able to save Jeff Hardy and Kurt Angle from drugs is just plain nice.

 

If we get a wee bit more scroll wheel functionality, I have nothing left to complain about. The UI is going to look so much better once that skin is released, the buttons will be organized (part of the reason I've been using the Mammoth skin, shoutout to Mammoth), the editor is really good, and negotiations ACTUALLY MATTER. I'm probably looking at sinking 1000s of hours into this game once again because Adam has done so much with this game, and honestly, I was one of the people who was frustrated about the UI and the scrolling being gone. I love that the game isn't a cakewalk anymore, and I REALLY love that we can convince people to work in new areas.

The road agent demands, overpowered own broadcaster purchase/PPV spam and huge discrepancy between demands for handshake and written contracts strike me as the standouts, but I haven't been looking too closely.

 

Yeah, those three being sorted out, as well as people not signing stupidly cheap exclusive ironclad written PPA deals, would be a huge improvement for me.

Has anyone seen any incidents that indicate a wrestler is dissatisfied with their position on the card? With pushes gone, I assume this comes in the combination of guys complaining about their recent booking and guys complaining about losses/being left off shows. I haven't seen any of this, but I also haven't run through nearly as many games as some people on here. Has anyone seen wrestlers get sick of being jammed in the midcard?

This might already be something that is part of the final tweaking so apologies if it is something that has already been taken on board but looking at the new worker profile screen, the space given to skills is still a little inefficient and not as user-friendly as it could be, in my opinion. In a similar way to the restructure of the office screen, is something like this possible:

It makes better use of the space, you don't have to scroll any more, you can see all the stats at a glance, they are separated by type of stat. Personally I would really like that sort of change but don't know how feasible it is in terms of coding (if the programme only allows the list to be exported as one for that screen, obviously this wouldn't be possible).

I would absolutely love something like that!

 

Genuinely, that's the aspect of the UI that I most want altered.

 

I loved the new screens posted yesterday. That being said, grouping the skills would be such a huge upgrade for me.

I really, really like this mock-up. I have no idea if it's possible but it's my biggest pet peeve when playing right now, that all the skills are jumbled into one with a huge gap between the skill name and number (well, this and how long it takes to move segments around).

 

That said some great strides have been taken into the UI recently which I'm really happy with, so do hope there's a few more. :)

That would be amazing.

 

Failing that, even headers (like the overness screen has) or a summary (like TEW 2010) would be an improvement.

This is fantastic! You should do a mockup with a similar treatment to the popularity area as well.

Great job with the contract signing change, although it's still missing foreign unemployed workers and more salary to skillful people and the need of travel costs. Other than that, we are working towards a way better game than what we had few weeks ago. Slim's UI suggestion looks really great tbh.

This is sooooooo much better than what we have. So much wasted space in the current profile screen, it's like they forget the resolution got expanded and they had more room to play with
