Runaway Train sent to RIPW; will work alongside Mean Jean Cattley to produce 1 hour weekly show!

As part of the continued rebuilding of the Supreme Wrestling Federation, the company has earmarked the start of the new decade as the ideal time to put increased focus on their development promotion, Rhode Island Pro Wrestling. Jerry and Eric Eisen reportedly spoke with Mean Jean Cattley recently, informing him of their desire to see RIPW produce a weekly show, giving talent much more in-ring and on-camera experience, as they look to continue to build the next generation of home grown “Supreme Stars”. Cattley was all too happy with the increased funding to promote these shows, and RIPW’s “Tomorrow’s Stars… Tonight!” is scheduled to begin from this week.

While the shows will not be televised, they will be recorded in the “SWF Style”, with increased production values and an emphasis on working to the camera, and not necessarily to the crowd. Mean Jean is not alone in the task of improving the efficiency of RIPW’s conveyor belt of “TV Ready Stars”, as he and booker Wilson Carlisle will be joined by SWF legend and highly respected road agent Barry “Runaway Train” Bowen, who will report to Rhode Island from the beginning of 2020. Despite his experience and reverence, Bowen was very much seen to be in the Richard Eisen mould of producing matches, having learned under the disgrace former SWF owner, and had seen his influence diminish in recent years. Regularly overlooked for agenting some of the biggest matches of the post Richard Eisen-era, both sides amicably agreed a change of scenery would suit Bowen.

Talk that Barry Bowen would leave the SWF all together surfaced towards the end of 2019, but sources have claimed this was never on the table and he is very much looking forward to working with Mean Jean Cattley. Jean was the person who Bowen spoke to when looking to get his daughter a break in the business over a decade ago, and coupled with her positive experience of working with the former MAW head booker, Runaway Train is said to hold a great respect for the man in charge of RIPW. They will now look to put their 55+ years of experience in the business together, and serve as the launchpad to the careers of the next generation of Supreme Wrestling Federation talent.

<p>Monday, January Week 1, 2020 - Episode #1 of “Tomorrow’s Stars… Tonight!”</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Monday, January Week 1, 2020 - Episode #1 of “Tomorrow’s Stars… Tonight!”</span></strong></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

</span><img alt="PG2sl1n.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/PG2sl1n.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="DyCQ9x9.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/DyCQ9x9.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

Coming into my first show, I got an idea of the backstage environment pretty quickly, and after 20 years with the SWF, I was surprised to see Newquay Brown bring a crate of beers for the boys. I spoke to Mean Jean about there being alcohol in the locker room, but he assured me there would be enough to go around, since he’d ordered a miserable Samson Sharpe to buy all the boys a drink after the show. Not what I meant, but I didn’t press further. Something to keep an eye on certainly, but hopefully the drinking culture down here doesn’t affect our shows at all. Things in general were pretty lax, but Cattley seemed to have the boys in perfect harmony with each other, so now wasn’t the time to step on any toes.</span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

When it got down to putting the show together, Jean was as organized and prepared as I expected, and with the storylines he’s already set into motion, I was happy to take a back seat in putting the show together. Instead, I worked as the agent for a couple of matches, spoke with the talent, and generally looked to equate myself to the new surroundings. Of course, with one hour weekly shows now booked more closely to the Supreme TV style, and the improved production values, my experience in that department was invaluable.<hr color=black></span></p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="TV0a2KI.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/TV0a2KI.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><hr color=black></span></p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="4EvESQq.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/4EvESQq.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="tQ1a794.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/tQ1a794.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

</span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Segment #1:</strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> Mean Jean Cattley and Barry “Runaway Train” Bowen welcome viewers to “RIPW Tomorrow’s Stars… Tonight!” They put over tonight’s huge Main Event between heated rivals Deever Arnold and Hellion, as well as discussing the concept of this new weekly show. Mean Jean Cattley spoke about working with the stars of tomorrow, while Barry Bowen suggested that some of these guys will be on Worldwide Television before too long, and this is the viewer's chance to see them before they’re international stars. Mean Jean further promoted the Hellion vs. Deever Arnold match as a potential “future Supreme Challenge Main Event!”, before sending over to the commentators who reiterated the introductions to the show and ran through the rest of the card. </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Rating: </strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong><span style="color:#008000;">48</span></strong></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

</span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Booker’s Note:</strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> Initially skeptical about us old timers appearing on-screen, Mean Jean eventually agreed that he and I should introduce the show, following my suggestion that we give those in attendance a run down of what to expect. We pre-recorded it before the episode began, and stuck to a pretty tight script. There’s little else to say about this segment, other than it was well put together and started the show off on a good footing.<hr color=black></span></p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="uRqN83Y.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/uRqN83Y.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

</span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Segment #2:</strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> Whole Lotta Marvin came out and cut a promo looking to hype up the crowd, but got serious when talk turned to Southern Comfort. Marvin says that he was pinned in the middle of the ring by his opponent last month, and that’s got the “miserable mercenary” walking around like he’s gone from Samson Sharpe to Sam Strong. Tonight, is going to be anything but comfortable for him, because Whole Lotta Marvin… has got a whole lotta fight in him! </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Rating: </strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong><span style="color:#FF0000;">37</span></strong></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

</span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Booker’s Note:</strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> A good promo from Whole Lotta Marvin, who certainly added a little bit of fire to the storyline ahead of the opening match of the night. Jean wasn’t lying when he said the kid has a lot of charisma, and played the fan favourite figure to a level beyond his years. With the crowd certainly behind him, this was a nice start to the live part of the show, and was well put together by Jean and Marvin.<hr color=black></span></p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="mfkmtbH.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/mfkmtbH.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="U257J1O.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/U257J1O.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="uRqN83Y.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/uRqN83Y.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

</span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Match #1:</strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><em>Whole Lotta Marvin bt. Samson Sharpe</em></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> by DQ, when the rest of Southern Comfort got involved, as Marvin closed in on victory. </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Rating: </strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong><span style="color:#FF0000;">23</span></strong></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

</span></p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="7NihGnb.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/7NihGnb.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="Pok62tJ.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/Pok62tJ.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

</span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Booker’s Note:</strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> The crowd were definitely pretty into this match and this rivalry, but the in-ring work was indicative of how much work needs to be done here. Sharpe looked solid throughout, but it’s obvious Marvin is a whole lot better at talking than he is wrestling. Mean Jean put this together, and certainly helped these guys avert disaster, but Sharpe and Marvin’s lack of experience was clear once they were in the ring. Marvin will get by through his charisma here in Rhode Island, but if he wants to make it in the SWF, we really need to work on his in-ring psychology and selling of moves. Jean assured me that he’d seen both guys do much better than that before, but I’m waiting to see it with my own eyes.<hr color=black></span></p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="YbChInb.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/YbChInb.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="jZcv3vK.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/jZcv3vK.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

</span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Segment #3:</strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> After the match, Southern Comfort continued to lay into Whole Lotta Marvin, until The Sunshine Collective made the save. Drew Danson and Rocky Weatherfield then helped Marvin back to his feet, with the three staring down Hank Whitman, Hoss Hadley and Samson Sharpe. </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Rating: </strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong><span style="color:#FF0000;">9</span></strong></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

</span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Booker’s Note:</strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> Not much to say about this segment, beyond setting up a six man tag team match for next week’s show. Looking forward to seeing more of these guys in action.<hr color=black></span></p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="P76K4K5.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/P76K4K5.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="hHdz3ix.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/hHdz3ix.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

</span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Segment #4:</strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> Curt Meritt left the commentary position to speak with RIPW Champion Forrest Ratzloff, who will defend the title against Warwick Good at the upcoming “Championship Battle” event. As Ratzloff looked to promote that match, he was cut off by Curt Meritt’s “associate” Barron Royal, who cut a cocky promo on the Champion.</span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

</span></p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="2wUOf4A.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/2wUOf4A.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

He said that he was the future of RIPW, and he was going to win the title in 2020… and throw it in the trash on Supreme TV. While this happened, Curt Meritt looked to poke the bear, but came between the two men when Ratzloff got in Barron’s face. Forrest took the microphone from Meritt and told Barron Royal he’d see him in the ring next week. </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Rating: </strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong><span style="color:#FF0000;">30</span></strong></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

</span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Booker’s Note:</strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> This segment was placed to promote the Main Event of our next event, but also to tentatively introduce Barron Royal to the upper reaches of the card. He’s young, and Jean tells me he still has a way to go, but something about him says “top heel”. Probably something to do with how much I want to punch his face. Nonetheless, I expect a fair few of our “top names” won’t be here within the next few months, since Eric and Jerry want to continue to introduce new talent to the SWF. With that in mind, we quickly need to establish some of our less experienced guys as serious contenders. </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

Barron definitely held his own in terms of the promo, and we’ll see how he does against the Champion on next week’s show.<hr color=black></span></p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="wAZo14z.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/wAZo14z.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="U257J1O.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/U257J1O.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="Fa9HLDx.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/Fa9HLDx.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

</span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Match #2:</strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><em>Warwick Good bt. Zeke Cromstock</em></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> decisively via pinfall in 5:44, hitting a Face First Suplex to score the victory. </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Rating: </strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong><span style="color:#FF0000;">20</span></strong></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

</span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Booker’s Note:</strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> If Warwick Good, Zeke isn’t. This was a really poor match considering it involved the Number One Contender, and while Jean assured me that Warwick was just “off his game”, he’d better raise his standards significantly if there’s any chance of him being considered to take the title. I’d heard good things about Warick all day, but on the evidence of tonight, he made a poor first impression. As for Cromstock, there’s a lot of work ahead, and we have more pressing concerns at the moment.</span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

This match didn’t come out anything like I’d hoped when producing these two guys before the show, and I feel insulted that my name is attached to putting together a match like that. I’ve produced Christian Faith vs. Jack Bruce for the SWF Championship. This wasn’t that. But patience is required, and we’ve got a hell of a task ahead of us whipping these guys into shape. That said, in storyline terms, this was a good win for Warwick.<hr color=black></span></p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="wAZo14z.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/wAZo14z.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

</span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Segment #5:</strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> Warwick Good cut a promo after the match, running down Forrest Ratzloff, and mocking him for worrying himself with the likes of Barron Royal. Good said that while Ratzloff is settling personal issues next week, he’s working on his game plan for leaving Championship Battle with the title in his hands! </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Rating: </strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong><span style="color:#FF0000;">33</span></strong></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

</span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Booker’s Note:</strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> In contrast to his in-ring work tonight, Warwick cut a solid promo to put over his upcoming match with Forrest Ratzloff, hitting all the key lines well and really putting over his persona of “The Bad Man”. He’s certainly got a lot of upside, but I need to see more from him within the squared circle.<hr color=black></span></p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="XK0dqUw.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/XK0dqUw.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="bIOjwoP.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/bIOjwoP.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="d1kRub2.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/d1kRub2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="uBokuV0.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/uBokuV0.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

</span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Segment #6:</strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> Pre-recorded promos from The Magic Boys and All Night Party put over the long-term issues between the two teams involved, who will face each other at the upcoming Championship Battle. It is presented as the last RIPW match between the two teams, the end of a long and storied rivalry. </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Rating: </strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong><span style="color:#FF0000;">25</span></strong></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

</span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Booker’s Note:</strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> While Jean scripted this segment, I oversaw it as I wanted to see up close and personal what these guys are like to work with. All four have been getting a lot of praise in Jean’s reports to Jerry recently, and there has been some suggestions that one or both of these teams will be called up to the SWF pretty soon. We sat them down and had them talk about their rivalry with each other, and I can see why these two teams clicked. They all know their histories together and work their characters well, so I don’t suspect we’ll be seeing these four around here much longer.<hr color=black></span></p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="wi5mljF.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/wi5mljF.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

</span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Segment #7:</strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> A video package was put together promoting Bryan Jewett and his run with the RIPW USA Title. He’ll defend the Championship at the upcoming event, Championship Battle. </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Rating: </strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong><span style="color:#FF0000;">11</span></strong></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

</span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Booker’s Note:</strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> Cattley is high on Jewett, and from first glance you can see why. This boy is a star, and if we can get him to work half as good as he looks, he’s going to make The Eisen Family a lot of money… and become a very rich man.<hr color=black></span></p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="XK0dqUw.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/XK0dqUw.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="bIOjwoP.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/bIOjwoP.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="H8OgCq0.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/H8OgCq0.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="eo7qyc2.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/eo7qyc2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

</span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Segment #8:</strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> In a backstage skit, Kingsley Christopher and Newquay Brown run into their Infamous leader Willy LaRoux, only to discover that they’re actually talking to Mortiarty Schnell. The real Willy LaRoux then walks into the shot, and everybody laughs at the </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><em>hilarious</em></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> misunderstanding. </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Rating: </strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong><span style="color:#FF0000;">30</span></strong></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

</span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Booker’s Note:</strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> Mean Jean wanted to get LaRoux and Schnell on the show, and after I got them mixed up a couple of times during the day, he thought it was funny to have Christopher and Brown do the same. Funny guy. These four all play a similar, annoying pretty boy character, and having listened to them talk, they’re definitely annoying. This was a decent segment, and made use of Mortiarty Schnell’s hot catchphrase and hand gesture. I didn’t get it, but apparently “... and that’s the Schnell Shocker!” really pops the boys.<hr color=black></span></p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="TBC5hLk.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/TBC5hLk.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="U257J1O.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/U257J1O.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="If3ZlQs.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/If3ZlQs.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

</span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>The Main Event:</strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><em>Hellion bt. Deever Arnold</em></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> in 14:39 by Countout, when Hellion hit a Devolution Bomb through a Table at ringside from the apron. This was a heated match, and Hellion stood tall as Arnold lay lifeless on the floor. </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Rating: </strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong><span style="color:#FF0000;">34</span></strong></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

</span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Booker’s Note:</strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> This match was much more like it, and Deever Arnold stood out as the best performer on the night. Jean had suggested this match be a little shorter, and in this case he was right. Hellion is clearly a worker who is better in short bursts, and his explosive style grew less effective as the match went on. These two definitely got the crowd hotter though, and the finish deliberately leaves things open ended for another match between them in the future. Hellion looks like the monster that he is, but Arnold doesn’t lose too much from the nature of the defeat. There’s legs in this programme, and from first impressions, this is the hottest storyline in the company.</span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

<hr color=black></span></p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="TBC5hLk.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/TBC5hLk.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

</span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Segment #8:</strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> Deever Arnold is helped to the back by the RIPW medical staff, while Hellion stands tall in the ring. The referee is tentative about raising the monster’s hand, and backs off when it’s clear Hellion isn’t interested in being presented as the winner. </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Rating: </strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong><span style="color:#008000;">45</span></strong></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

</span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Booker’s Note:</strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> He didn’t look great tonight, but with his gimmick and star quality, we’re definitely on to a winner with Hellion, and him standing tall to end the show feels like a fitting sign of things to come. As long as he’s still down here in Rhode Island, “American Hellspawn” is going to be a key player in RIPW. He’s one of a few sure-fire stars we’ve got on our hands!</span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

His menacing look made for a compelling ending to the show, and as someone who knows what it’s like to play an intimidating figure on television, this guy has got it down. If anybody who we’ve seen tonight is perfectly adapted to this new style of show, and “TV ready” as the Eisen Brothers as so keen for everybody to be, Hellion is that man.<hr color=black></span></p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><span style="font-size:14px;"><strong>Overall Rating: </strong></span></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><span style="font-size:14px;"><strong><span style="color:#FF0000;">37</span></strong></span></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Attendence:</strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> 157 </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

The show increased our popularity in Rhode Island</span></p></div><p></p><p></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

<hr color=black></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Final Thoughts:</strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> Overall, this show went about as well as expected, and while not much stood out, there are certainly positives to report back to The Eisen Brothers. On the other hand, there is plenty of work left to be done. But that is why the workers, the trainers, and specifically </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><em>I</em></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">, am here. To take the potential that each and every single member of this roster has, and turn them into Supreme Stars. Not everybody will make it, and that’s the nature of the business we are in. However, even if it’s just a look, a level of athleticism or a glimmer of charisma, our job it to take these rough diamonds, and turn them into the next “Golden Generation” for the new era of the SWF.</span></p>

(accidental double post of second show)

I was wondering if someone would do an RIPW dynasty- so glad to see this one, I'll be following with interest!

Looking forward to SWF taking my top guys and hopefully signing up some even better workers to replace them

Monday, January Week 2, 2020 - Episode #2 of “Tomorrow’s Stars… Tonight!”

PG2sl1n.jpgDyCQ9x9.jpg

This week we have two shows to focus on, and while Mean Jean is still very much steering the ship in terms of bigger picture, we’ve put a couple of segments in tonight to test the waters for a few things. Backstage, Stevie Stanley was keeping everybody entertained with some funny road stories, although I’m not sure his monthly drives from New York to Rhode Island are quite in the same league as what some of the guys in the SWF have seen. He might be in for a culture shock when he gets up there. He won’t be the only one to be honest, they don’t solve guys (like that prickly character Crusher Ball) forgetting to shake hands with a free round of beers at Supreme TV tapings.<hr color=black>

Match #1: Southern Comfort bt. The Sunshine Connection & Whole Lotta Marvin by pinfall, when The Sunshine Connection were attacked on the outside by the Wrecking Balls.

cAEhUiV.pngWJQY7BO.png

This left Whole Lotta Marvin to be pinned by Samson Sharpe for the second time in recent months. Rating: 19

Segment #1: After the match, the three victorious competitors stood tall in the ring. Rating: 13

Booker’s Note: While not something you’ll often see on Supreme TV, we kicked off the show with a fairly long match, involving six guys I was keen to get a closer look at. In truth, I didn’t like a lot of what I saw. Mean Jean put the match together, with Rocky Weatherfield and Samson Sharpe standing out as the best of the bunch. We went with the outside involvement to add to the rivalry between The Sunshine Connection (not Collective, as I wrote in last week’s report) and The Wrecking Balls (who will face off at Championship Battle), and allows Whole Lotta Marvin to look strong in defeat. This will lead to one last singles match between Marvin and Sharpe at this Thursday’s upcoming event.

Lucinda Lush did a good job at ringside, and Drew Danson looked more comfortable in himself as a result.<hr color=black>

2wUOf4A.pngP76K4K5.png

Segment #2: Curt Meritt left the commentary position to interview his “associate” Barron Royal, and massaged his friend’s ego by talking up Barron’s chances of winning against the RIPW Champion tonight. Barron Royal was equally confident, and put over tonight as the moment that the idiots in the crowd finally catch up with how good he is. Rating: 26

Booker’s Note: Barron Royal put over his character well in this segment, and we have to hope he can deliver in the ring. Having Curt work with him is always going to help Royal, and it may be worth considering Meritt leaving the announcer’s table to work as a full-time manager, should we continue to push Barron.<hr color=black>

uBokuV0.pngd1kRub2.pngbIOjwoP.pngXK0dqUw.png

Segment #3: A video package was produced featuring some of the highlights of the previous matches between All Night Party and The Magic Boys. They will face at Championship Battle, for the last ever time in RIPW. Rating: 10

Booker’s Note: We’re continuing to promote this match, with our video editor putting together some footage from the archives that really opened my eyes to some of the stuff they’ve done together. If these guys keep focussed and work hard, there’s no reason why we won’t be seeing this programme on SWF Television within the next couple of years.<hr color=black>

wi5mljF.pngU257J1O.pngg6I7wQ9.png

Match #2: Bryan Jewett bt. Son of Vengeance via DQ in 8:07, when S.O.V lost his temper and got himself intentionally disqualified. Rating: 17

Booker’s Note: This match wasn’t great, and Son of Vengeance really stunk out of the place in this one. He’s young, and his father is an SWF legend, but he’s got a lot of work ahead if he’s going to be anything like the star Skull De Bones was. Bryan was by no means great, and his mind looked to be elsewhere tonight, but like I said, he’s got so much to offer that his in-ring work doesn’t have to be top notch for him to make it. He picks up a win here, but Son of Vengeance is protected, not taking a defeat by pinfall or submission. These guys both have great looks, and that’s a great starting point.<hr color=black>

eo7qyc2.png

Segment #4: Willie LaRoux came down to the ring, but only when S.O.V had taken enough out of Jewett that there was no chance of a comeback. The cowardly LaRoux was delighted to leave Bryan Jewett laying, just days before their RIPW USA Championship match at Championship Battle! Rating: 19

Booker’s Note: This segment was the final piece of build for one of three title matches at the next event, and Willie LaRoux got some extra heat by joining in with Son of Vengeance’s attack on Bryan Jewett. I’m personally not sold on Jean’s choice to put S.O.V & Willie together, but we’ll let it play out and see what comes of it. It certainly served a purpose during this storyline, as we continue to try and get Jewett over.<hr color=black>

aqjwXVk.pngqIZ3x5U.png

Segment #5: Zap Powerson and Zharnel Zephaniah were shown in the RIPW Gym “earlier today”, getting into an argument about the usage of some equipment. Both men had claim to a particular bench, and this led to them being pulled apart by a number of trainers. Rating: 15

Booker’s Note: These two guys had been left off both shows since the start of the new year, so we got them to record this earlier in the day. Both guys have a good look, but are raw and need a lot of seasoning. I suggested this segment to check out their acting chops, and if we’re honest, they didn’t do a great job. Zap did okay, but we need to get Zharnel more comfortable in front of the camera if he is to put MMA behind him and focus full time on becoming an SWF Superstar. The choice is in his hands, and with the rare legitimacy he has, there’s every chance of him becoming a star.<hr color=black>Segment #6: Footage aired of last week’s Main Event, where Hellion defeated Deever Arnold by countout. This was done to lead into a promo from Deever Arnold. Rating: 20

If3ZlQs.png

Segment #7: Arnold cut a promo from his home, discussing the injuries he sustained last week during his match with Hellion. “The Rampage” would not be at the show tonight, but vowed to fight at Championship Battle, whether he was 100% or not. Rating: 31

Booker’s Note: Deever was given a bit of freedom to improvise when recording this segment, and did a good job of promoting the rematch with Hellion. He’s one of the guys Jean trusts to put his own spin on a segment, and he showed why with this promo. He’s probably the most rounded guy down here, and The Eisen Brothers should definitely take a look at him if they’re wanting to boost the ranks up at SWF.<hr color=black>

hHdz3ix.pngU257J1O.png2wUOf4A.png

The Main Event: Forrest Ratzloff bt. Barron Royal by pinfall in 9:53 with an Atomic Clothesline, despite Curt Meritt’s attempted involvement. During the match, Ratzloff sustained Swollen Calf Muscle. Rating: 16

Booker’s Note: The injury to Ratzloff is concerning, but even without it this match would have disappointed. I expected too much from Barron going into this, and I came out of this match realising his limitations at this stage of his career. It’s hard to judge the Champ’s performance here, and we’ll see if he’s fit to compete at Championship Battle. This was a solid, clean victory for Forrest, who continues to be booked strong in RIPW.

After the show, there was quite a bit of heat on Royal for hurting the Champion, but these things happen and hopefully it doesn’t affect either of them too much. We’ll speak with Barron about what happened, but accidents are part and parcel of the business. <hr color=black>

wAZo14z.png

Segment #8: Following the Main Event, Warwick Good came out and went face to face with the man he will challenge for the RIPW Championship at Championship Battle, and played on rumours that Forrest will be leaving for the SWF soon by promising to run him out of Rhode Island. Ratzloff responded by saying that he won’t comment on speculation, but one thing is for sure… he won’t be leaving Rhode Island until there is a man worthy of taking his title. He assures Warwick that if he knows one thing for certain, it’s that Good isn’t that man! Rating: 37

Booker’s Note: This was a good segment to end the show, and built nicely to the Main Event of the next event. Forrest’s apparent call-up has been making the rounds, and while official word hasn’t been given, we added it as a wrinkle to the storyline to add a little more to the rivalry between the two. Championship Battle isn’t expected to be Forrest’s final night with the company, but we are aware that he could be on his way up any time within the next couple of months. What’s important is that when he does leave, the next Champion is more than capable of picking up where Forrest left of, and carrying the brand forward further into 2020.<hr color=black>

Overall Rating: 22Attendence: 147 (-10)

The show neither increased nor decreased our popularity in Rhode Island

<hr color=black>Final Thoughts: This show wasn’t nearly as good as last week’s episode, and that is largely down to the disappointing Main Event. Barron Royal wasn’t ready to be in that position, and the decision doubly backfired as Forrest Ratzolf suffered an injury, the extent we won’t know until very close to Championship Battle. Hopefully he will be cleared to compete, and this setback doesn’t stall his progression to the “main roster”. Either way, we will hope the upcoming event is of a much higher standard, and with the matches scheduled for that night, it is certainly expected that we’ll put on a good show.

After this show, the real changes in RIPW would begin, so once again I took a step back and let the main man take charge. Of course I gave my input, but this felt like an important night for everybody involved, and there were a few nerves in the back. The atmosphere wasn’t helped by Crusher Ball following his brother Clubber’s lead in being loud and obnoxious throughout the evening, and Mean Jean eventually ordered him to remain silent for the rest of the night. He also told Crusher he’d have to buy the boys a drink after the show, and I’m getting the impression that Cattley just doesn’t like putting his hand in his pocket.<hr color=black></span></p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="IDgUHPg.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/IDgUHPg.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><hr color=black></span></p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="IPASIwF.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/IPASIwF.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="IPASIwF.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/IPASIwF.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span><img alt="XK0dqUw.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/XK0dqUw.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="bIOjwoP.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/bIOjwoP.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="n1XP8Pv.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/n1XP8Pv.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="d1kRub2.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/d1kRub2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="uBokuV0.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/uBokuV0.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Match #1:</strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><em>The Magic Boys © bt. The Magic Boys looked to consider the gesture, but left without shaking their long-terms adversaries' hands. </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Rating: </strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong><span style="color:#FF0000;">12</span></strong></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Booker’s Note:</strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> The crowd were into this match from the get go, a testament to the rivalry these two teams have developed, but having heard about their chemistry, I was left a little underwhelmed by all four performances in the match. They all clearly specialise in tag team competition, but beyond that the action wasn’t particularly impressive. While the assessment may seem harsh, we are talking about four men apparently on the brink of making their global television debuts with SWF. There are standards up there, and I know that better than anybody.</span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> My instincts tell me that All Night Party will be called up before The Magic Boys, so we left the titles on Kingley and Newquay, who will put over a different team upon their eventual departures. The boys wanted a final moment together in the ring, but Jean and I were against a handshake, given that we still have stories to tell beyond these guys patting themselves on the back. Instead, The Magic Boys rejected the offer, the segment designed to put heat on the Tag Team Champions.<hr color=black></span></p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="uRqN83Y.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/uRqN83Y.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="n1XP8Pv.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/n1XP8Pv.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="mfkmtbH.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/mfkmtbH.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Match #2:</strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><em>Whole Lotta Marvin bt. During the match, the commentators explained the absence of Samson Sharpe’s Southern Comfort teammates, who were busy preparing for their match later in the evening. Finally in a fair one on one situation, Whole Lotta Marvin secured his first pinfall victory over Samson Sharpe. </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Rating: </strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong><span style="color:#FF0000;">24</span></strong></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Booker’s Note:</strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> Whole Lotta Marvin put a better performance in than last time we saw him, and there were plenty of positive signs from him in the match. Marvin’s charisma and character shine through whenever he’s in front of a crowd, even if his in-ring work leaves something to be desired. Nonetheless, he needed the win, after a difficult few months dealing with Southern Comfort. Hopefully this win gives him the momentum to continue his ascent up the card, as we clearly have something with the former football player from Georgia.<hr color=black></span></p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="qIZ3x5U.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/qIZ3x5U.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="n1XP8Pv.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/n1XP8Pv.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="aqjwXVk.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/aqjwXVk.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Match #3:</strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><em>Zharnel Zephaniah bt. A heated match, the referee stepped in when Zharnel knocked Zap out with a vicious blow to the head. </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Rating: </strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong><span style="color:#FF0000;">12</span></strong></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Booker’s Note:</strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> I needed to see a bit more of both of these men, who have gone somewhat under the radar in RIPW since joining the company. Neither man looked anywhere close to being ready, and while Zephaniah picked up the win, it is Zap who we have something for in the near future. The booking of this match, and the decisive defeat he suffered, will play into his storyline going forward and will hopefully make him a more compelling character. Zap has charisma, but we haven’t seen enough out of him yet. This was the worst match of the night so far, with both men lacking the fundamental skills to put together a good match at this stage of their careers.<hr color=black></span></p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="Mrz3mwl.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/Mrz3mwl.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Segment #2:</strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> After the match, Lisa Bowen made her RIPW debut, with the commentators putting her over as the daughter of SWF legend Barry “Runaway Train” Bowen. Her reason for being here was unknown, until she crouched beside Zap Powerson as he came around in the ring. Lisa encouraged Zap back to his feet, and the pair left together. </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Rating: </strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong><span style="color:#FF0000;">8</span></strong></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Booker’s Note:</strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> Lisa looked great debuting here, and with her experience from MAW, and her history with Mean Jean, she will be an excellent addition to the roster. Sure I may have pulled a few strings to get her here, but we see a lot of potential in Zap Powerson. I know Lisa can be the catalyst for us bringing that out of him.<hr color=black></span></p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="Jvxx2Hy.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/Jvxx2Hy.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span><img alt="wi5mljF.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/wi5mljF.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="n1XP8Pv.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/n1XP8Pv.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="eo7qyc2.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/eo7qyc2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Match #4:</strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><em>Bryan Jewett © bt. I took charge of putting this match together, and Jewett was made to look like a star throughout. This man looks good with a Championship around his waist, and when he does eventually drop the strap, it will only be because he’s setting his sights on the RIPW Championship.<hr color=black></span></p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="YbChInb.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/YbChInb.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="jZcv3vK.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/jZcv3vK.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="n1XP8Pv.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/n1XP8Pv.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="7NihGnb.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/7NihGnb.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="Pok62tJ.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/Pok62tJ.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="n1XP8Pv.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/n1XP8Pv.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="cAEhUiV.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/cAEhUiV.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="WJQY7BO.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/WJQY7BO.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Match #5:</strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><em>The Sunshine Connection bt. Jean and I agree that The Wrecking Balls needed taking down a peg or two given their recent attitude problems, and this was a big win for The Sunshine Collection. Rocky was the best performer in this match by a fair distance, while the pair of Balls did themselves no favours.<hr color=black></span></p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="TBC5hLk.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/TBC5hLk.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="n1XP8Pv.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/n1XP8Pv.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="If3ZlQs.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/If3ZlQs.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Match #6:</strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><em>Hellion bt. He was torn about which way this should go, while I felt strongly that Hellion should go over. While this was the blow off of their big rivalry, and tradition would dictate Deever should win, these first couple of weeks have shown me something in Hellion. Sure he isn’t great in the ring, but these two have stood head and shoulders above the other talent down here in Rhode Island.</span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> A short match, which suited the explosive style of “American Hellspawn”, Deever Arnold has more than enough talent to recover from this setback. While we have a face Champion, we need strong heels, and from what I can see, Hellion is the top heel down here. The match was slowed a little, as we tried to work around the Champ’s limitations, but we got through it without any further issues. Warwick Good held up his end of the bargain, but Forrest isn’t done with the RIPW Championship yet.</span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> A slightly disappointing Main Event, and perhaps the pre-show talk of potentially putting Hellion and Deever Arnold as the closer would have worked better. This was due to the talk of the “great chemistry” these two teams have when working together, but personally I didn’t see it. Hellion continues to be pushed strong, and is a potential next challenger for Ratzloff’s title, while Deever will bounce back from the defeat with no problems. I gave both of them some encouragement after the match, as they put on what I thought was the best match of the night.</span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> The priorities going forward are getting Forrest back to 100%, and preparing for the expected exodus of talent that could be coming any time within the next few months. Potentially stupid question, but I’m very intrigued: How does playing as a developmental company work in this year’s game? I know that child companies can hire their own talent. But if you go out and sign someone, can SWF call them up? Or can they only call up the people they sign?

Only people they sign to development

Monday, January Week 3, 2020 - Episode #3 of “Tomorrow’s Stars… Tonight!”

PG2sl1n.jpgDyCQ9x9.jpg

The backstage area was remarkably quiet throughout the day as we put the show together, and that’s just how we want it as we deal with the teething issues of going from monthly shows to weekly show. This month had already been a lot more labour intensive than these kids are used to, and they all appeared to be a little worn out after Friday’s Championship Battle. Like the boys, Mean Jean is also having to get to grips with the changes, and the weekly episodic style of these shows are where I come into my forte. I worked for the SWF for two decades, and spent the better part of the last one, in and around the creative nerve center of the company. Long-term, this is going to be better for everybody involved, and ensure that when the talent eventually get called up, they have the experience and the knowledge required to be a success on the big stage.<hr color=black>

<hr color=black>

Segment #1: The show began with footage from “Earlier Today”, where Forrest Ratzloff was found out cold in the back, having been attacked by an unknown assailant. The commentators spoke over the footage, and said that while Forrest has been taken to a “Local Medical Facility”, RIPW management have launched an investigation to find out who took out the RIPW Champion. Rating: 18

Booker’s Note: Coming out of Championship Battle, we decided to write Forrest Ratzloff out of the show for the time being, allowing him as much time as he needs to recover from his current injury. This storyline allows him to remain in the consciousness of the fans, and gives us a heated rivalry for him to get straight into once he’s ready to return. Ongoing stories are something that will be necessary with a weekly “Supreme TV” style show, and this “Who Done It?” is a very simple and basic device, but will allow for a number of segments featuring a wide array of talent. Involving pretty much the entire roster, everybody will be given the chance to flex their acting muscles, and we’ll learn a lot about some of these guys from how they do.

Currently we have two potential “reveals” for the storyline, one more obvious and logical, while the other will develop over the weeks and may be the one we go with, should it come across well on the show.<hr color=black>

Match #1: All Night Party & Whole Lotta Marvin bt. Southern Comfort in 12:25, when Marvin got Hoss Hadley up for a Running Powerslam, and pinned him for the win. Rating: 21

Segment #2: ANP & WLM stand tall following the win, celebrating a crowd pleasing opening match victory. Rating: 10

Booker’s Note: Following the downbeat start to the show, a win for three energetic and charismatic babyfaces was designed to distract fans from the fact their Champion wouldn’t be appearing for the foreseeable future. While this does hurt Southern Comfort, Whole Lotta Marvin has now pinned two members of the group in successive matches, and allows us to set up a future singles bout between him and Hank Whitman.<hr color=black>

P76K4K5.png

Segment #3: Following the match, Curt Meritt left the commentary position and took a microphone to inform the fans that he was in charge of the “Forrest Ratzloff Files”, and he would be the lead investigator in the case. He headed to the back where he will set up his “Interrogation Room”, and will speak to every single member of the RIPW locker room over the coming weeks. Rating: 32

Booker’s Note: I’m personally keen to get Curt Meritt off the commentary table full-time, and while Mean Jean thinks he adds to the shows, I feel he works better as a “personality”, given he is one of the roster’s most versatile and entertaining performers. He has an ease on the microphone that a huge portion of our roster can learn from, and working with him over the next few weeks will do wonders for a few of the boys who are less comfortable talking in front of a camera. Curt, like Deever Arnold, is somebody who can be trusted to put his own spin on the material we give him, and he did a good job of improvising during the segment.<hr color=black>

YbChInb.pngjZcv3vK.pngFwKtX23.png

Segment #4: Heading to the back, Rocky Weatherfield and Drew Danson cut a promo on The Wrecking Balls, saying that they beat them at Championship Battle, and they want to do it again next week. It was later confirmed that the match would take place on the following show. Rating: 23

Booker’s Note: Lucinda Lush helped Drew Danson throughout the segment, as he looked lost in places as these two laid down the challenge. The Wrecking Balls haven’t endeared themselves to anybody down here recently, and will face The Sunshine Connection next week!<hr color=black>

Fa9HLDx.pngn1XP8Pv.pngAVmjoxV.png

Match #2: Zeke Cromstock bt. Roderick Flack in 8:13 with an Atomic Legdrop. Rating: 8

Booker’s Note: This was Roderick Flack’s first chance to impress since I joined RIPW, and while I don’t think this was the ideal match to showcase his skills, he didn’t do enough. Both guys looked really far from their best (or at least I hope) and it was a very poor match. If we’re going to get anything out of either of them, they need to be in there with someone with a semblance of how to put a match together.<hr color=black>

Mrz3mwl.pngaqjwXVk.png

Segment #5: More footage from “earlier today” showed Lisa Bowen speaking with Zap Powerson, while he worked out. Following Lisa Bowen’s debut at Championship Battle, she seems intent on an association with the charismatic youngster. Zap seemed impressed with what he was hearing from Bowen. Rating: 36

Booker’s Note: This was a good segment, and while we know Lisa can talk, Zap showed his charisma well in this segment. These two - I believe - are going to be a great pairing going forward.<hr color=black>

P76K4K5.png2wUOf4A.pngH8OgCq0.pngTBC5hLk.png

Segment #6: The first of Curt Meritt’s roster-wide interviews took place next, with his friend Barron Royal the first suspect. Meritt completely softballed his associate, even giving him an alibi for the time of the attack. The two just took the time to catch up, before Moriarty Schnell was sent in. Meritt pressed him for information, but Schnell seemed completely disinterested. Sensing he was getting nowhere, Curt ticked Moriarty's name off his list, and asked for the next guy.

When Hellion barged through his door, Curt declared the investigation was closed for the day, and nervously ticked Hellion’s name off. Meritt then said he had to go and call the Main Event, as he fearfully shuffled passed “American Hellspawn”. Rating: 35

Booker’s Note: Curt carried this segment forward pretty well, and while we didn’t get much from Schnell (beyond his catchphrase), Barron Royal’s relationship with Meritt was put over once more. Coming off the back of his win over Deever Arnold at Championship Battle, we continued to build the fear factor of Hellion, who is a key suspect in the Forrest Ratzloff storyline.<hr color=black>

If3ZlQs.pngn1XP8Pv.pngwAZo14z.png

The Main Event: Deever Arnold bt. Warwick Good in 13:56 following a Cannonball Senton. The week goes from bad to worse for Warwick, but Deever bounces back in impressive fashion. Rating: 29

Booker’s Note: This match really got the crowd buzzing to end the show, and we saw two of the best performances since I’ve been down here. Deever Arnold particularly stood out, and after losing to Hellion on Friday, we were keen to get him a win back. Warwick Good may be hurt by two consecutive losses, but he will be absolutely fine going forward, I have no doubt of that. Overall, very encouraging signs from the Main Event!<hr color=black>

If3ZlQs.pngwAZo14z.png

Segment #7: Taking a microphone after the match, the popular Deever Arnold cut a promo on his match with Hellion, somewhat putting over the man who defeated him and calling him one of his “toughest ever opponents”. When Deever looked to turn attention to his own future, after discussing the attack on Forrest Ratzloff earlier, he was jumped from behind by a bitter Warwick Good.

Showing himself to be a poor loser, Good left Arnold laid out in the ring. The commentators signed off on the show, and suggested that with Good’s bad reaction to his defeat here tonight, what is to say he didn’t do the same after Ratzloff beat him at Championship Battle… Rating: 26

Booker’s Note: As well as giving Deever some promo time, this segment served to further the Forrest Ratzloff storyline, with his previous opponent positioned as a prime suspect. Putting over his hot-headed nature and short fuse, Warwick’s behaviour was designed to lead the fans into believing he was responsible for the attack on Ratzloff earlier in the night. The fans were into this segment, and left the show on a high, having seen a key storyline develop, and a potential assailant reveal himself with a brutal post-match attack.<hr color=black>

Overall Rating: 30Attendance: 136 (-33)

The show increased our popularity in Rhode Island

<hr color=black>Final Thoughts: This was probably the second best show we’ve put on since the beginning of 2020, with the first show of the year setting a decent bar for us to try and reach. The main event delivered tonight, and we continued to reshape the structure of how the shows are put together. The Forrest Ratzloff injury storyline will play out well over the next few weeks, and got off to a good start with a couple of names put out there as being potentially responsible for the attack.<hr>

There seems to be another comment not showing up in the thread, but it is when I go to reply, so thanks Sco xY2Jx :) interested to read how your experience differs, with TCW having a slightly different relationship with you than the SWF have with RIPW.

Just posting to say that I'm very much enjoying this dynasty so far. I'll be interested to see what curve balls SWF throws your way with call ups and signings.

Thank you, I'm looking forward to the SWF screwing up my plans, but hopefully sending me some better workers than the group currently down in RIPW.

Monday, January Week 4, 2020 - Episode #4 of “Tomorrow’s Stars… Tonight!”

PG2sl1n.jpgDyCQ9x9.jpg

While Forest Ratzloff isn’t scheduled to be booked until fully fit, the RIPW Champion still came to the building for this show, and observed closely as we put this ”episode” together. He was particularly interested in the storyline surrounding his attack, which will continue to be a large part of this week’s show.<hr color=black>

TV0a2KI.png

<hr color=black>

P76K4K5.pngeo7qyc2.pngg6I7wQ9.png

Segment #1: Curt Meritt was seen in his “Investigation Interrogation Room”, with scrunched up pieces of paper, as he continued to work on the “leads” he had received over the last week. Clearly a number of these had been false, as his investigation board had many scribbles and crosses scattered across it. Willie LaRoux entered with Infamous “muscle” Son of Vengeance, but was told by Curt that it wasn’t his turn yet. Willie said that he had information, and took a seat. LaRoux claimed that this wasn’t the work of one man, but two… and of a woman as well. He claimed that the attack was carried out by Bryan Jewett, who enlisted the help of Zap Powerson through the newcomer Lisa Bowen. He wanted to be the only singles Champion in RIPW. Willie told him to put two and two together, this happened right after Lisa Bowen showed up. Curt Meritt wasn’t 100% convinced, but did write down everything he had heard in one of several notebooks he had on his desk. Rating: 38

Booker’s Note: Curt continues to carry this storyline, and it surprises me that he isn’t yet under an SWF contract. While he’s been down here, he has impressed everybody who has come into contact with him, and should surely be on the radar for a development deal with the company. Willie LaRoux did a good job too, as we refreshed the memory on our current top storyline.<hr color=black>

wi5mljF.pngn1XP8Pv.pngH8OgCq0.png

Match #1: Bryan Jewett bt. Moriarty Schnell in 12:03 with a Fisherman’s Suplex. During the match, the commentators discussed Willie LaRoux’s claim that Jewett was responsible for the attack on Forrest Ratzloff. Rating: 16

Booker’s Note: Moriarty hurt his calf pretty early on in this match, so it was nowhere near as good as it could have been. Bryan looked like a star throughout the match, and his charisma carried him through. Schnell’s injury appears to be remarkably similar to the one Ratzloff suffered three weeks ago, so I expect him to miss some time in the ring. Safety in the ring should be our number one priority when teaching these kids, so I will be having a word with Bryan, just like we did with Barron Royal last time.<hr color=black>

P76K4K5.pngMrz3mwl.pngaqjwXVk.png

Segment #2: Curt Meritt came out after the match, following up on Willie LaRoux’s claim that Bryan Jewett had taken out Forrest Ratzloff. Bryan of course denied any involvement, saying he would never attack his friend and a fellow Champion.

As Bryan went to leave, Lisa Bowen came out with Zap Powerson, and was less laid back about the situation. She was furious about the accusation, and told Curt to tell Willie to bring any of his “Infamous imbeciles” next week, because Bryan and Zap were going to put them down! Rating: 30

Booker’s Note: Everyone played their role well in this segment, which sets up a match for next week. Bryan and Zap are somewhat similar performers, albeit with Jewett a little further along his development. I think an association between the two will benefit Zap greatly, who I see a lot of potential in, hence him being put in the capable hands of my daughter, Lisa Bowen.<hr color=black>

wAZo14z.png

Segment #3: Warwick Good cut a promo in the back, responding to heavy speculation that he attacked Forrest Ratzloff in an act of rage following a defeat to him at Championship Battle. Good said that he’s a “Bad Guy”, and he doesn’t need to hide that. His attack on Deever Arnold doesn’t prove that he’s capable of that kind of thing, it proves that he doesn’t need to run and hide after he kicks someone’s ass! Rating: 39

Booker’s Note: Warwick was always really a red herring in this process, but his denial will do little to dissuade those who believe he was behind the attack. Good was considered early on, but a rematch with Ratzloff wouldn’t do much for either guy. Instead, Warwick cut a great promo distancing himself from the attack, and his focus will be a rivalry with Deever Arnold, pitting two of our more rounded talents against each other. Good is a great example to anyone down here about being fully immersed in the gimmick. From the second the red light is on, he is “The Bad Guy”.<hr color=black>

TBC5hLk.pngn1XP8Pv.pngFa9HLDx.png

Match #2: Hellion bt. Zeke Cromstock in 3:43 with a Short Arm Lariat. This match was completely one sided, with Cromstock getting in close to zero offence Rating: 19

Segment #4: Following the match, Hellion intimidated the referee as he tried to raise the monster’s hand. Fearing what might happen, the referee left the ring, leaving Hellion to stand tall on his own. Rating: 45

Booker’s Note: Zeke has a long way to go before he’s ready for the SWF, while Hellion - look, gimmick and overall package - has to be one of the first names on their wishlist. He put in a good performance here, and was booked perfectly to his strengths. Complete domination over such a large opponent continues to build up “American Hellspawn”, and the segment that followed reiterated the “fear factor” that is key to his character.

<hr color=black>

YbChInb.pngjZcv3vK.pngn1XP8Pv.pngWJQY7BO.pngcAEhUiV.png

Match #3: The Sunshine Connection bt. The Wrecking Balls in 9:52 when Rocky Weatherfield hit Clubber Ball with an Implant DDT. Rating: 20

Booker’s Note: They say that first impressions stick with you, and in the case of The Wrecking Balls, my first thoughts were that they aren’t as good as they think they are. Now, I’m not so sure they’re as good as I thought they were. Mean Jean isn’t as down on them as I am, but The Sunshine Connection clearly has more upside. Rocky & Drew aren’t quite as defined a team as Clubber & Crusher, but as individuals, Rocky in particular stood out above the others. Lucinda Lush as always was a good influence at ringside, for what was probably the end of the storyline between these two teams.<hr color=black>

2wUOf4A.pngP76K4K5.pngIf3ZlQs.png

Segment #5: While talking with his associate Barron Royal, Curt Meritt runs into Deever Arnold in the back. Deever is on his way to the ring for the Main Event, but Meritt wants to know what he knows about Forrest Ratzloff. Royal adds “where were you when he got laid out?”

Arnold doesn’t have time for Curt & Barron, and says that he was exactly where he is now, preparing to go out and entertain the fans. Something neither of them know anything about. Rating: 32

Booker’s Note: This segment will lead to a singles match between Barron and Deever within the next couple of weeks, and also kept the storyline moving forward by showing that the “Investigation” continued throughout the night.<hr color=black>

If3ZlQs.pngn1XP8Pv.png7NihGnb.png

The Main Event: Deever Arnold bt. Hank Whitman in 12:25 following a Cannonball Senton. During the match, Southern Comfort tried to get involved, but Whole Lotta Marvin came out and ensured their influence was neutralised.

Pok62tJ.pngmfkmtbH.pnguRqN83Y.png

Marvin also got a couple of shots in on Hank, when the referee wasn’t looking… Rating: 29

Segment #6: Deever Arnold and Whole Lotta Marvin stood tall to end the show, having sent Southern Justice packing! Rating: 16

Booker’s Note: This was a solid main event that the crowd clearly enjoyed, and once again Deever Arnold showed why he is one of the top names down here in Rhode Island. He carried the match, and went all out to deliver a good performance. Week on week he continues to impress, and associating Whole Lotta Marvin with him will do wonders for the less experienced big man. His involvement thwarting the Texan Justice interference will only raise his stock as a babyface, and continues to build to his singles match with Hank Whitman, likely at the next “big” event.

Standing tall with the top active babyface in the company was a good look for Marvin, who we see as being our next breakout name after the SWF purge the roster over the coming months. Deever Arnold must be close to moving on up, but as long as we have him down here, we will make the most of his abilities and popularity!<hr color=black>

Overall Rating: 31Attendance: 158 (+22)

The show increased our popularity in Rhode Island

<hr color=black>Final Thoughts: This show continues to build on the last couple of weeks, and I can feel myself getting to grips with this roster. There’s a clear top tier of talent who we can rely on, with the opposite side of that coin being that they’re the most likely to be leaving us in the near future. Deever Arnold and Hellion continue to stand out of the pack, with their in-ring styles and overall presentation feeling almost ready for SWF TV. These are the examples the other kids must follow, and who Jean, Wilson and I should hold as the standard required from every single member of the roster.

With Bryan Jewett’s issues with Infamous spilling into the Forrest Ratzloff injury storyline, I was happy with the booking of the match. The performance of Zap Powerson was concerning however, despite the good job Lisa Bowen did at ringside. The babyface team members have great star quality and charisma, but Zap looked off his game in this one.</span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> Nonetheless we continue their storylines, and it was an okay beginning to the show. The segment that followed continued to push Zap and Lisa as potential suspects, and will create some conflict for the RIPW USA Champion.<hr color=black></span></p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="uBokuV0.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/uBokuV0.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="d1kRub2.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/d1kRub2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="P76K4K5.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/P76K4K5.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="YbChInb.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/YbChInb.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Segment #2:</strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> Beyond the opener, but continuing the discussion about Forrest Ratzloff’s attacker, the commentators noted that Curt Meritt wasn’t here at the commentary position tonight, but he wasn’t carrying out his investigation either. This led into footage from the “Investigation Room” from earlier today, where All Night Party were drafted in. Simmons & Stanley weren’t in the mood for Curt’s pointed questions, and trashed his office after he and his fellow investigator Barron Royal hurled insults at them. </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Rating: </strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong><span style="color:#FF0000;">33</span></strong></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Booker’s Note:</strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> Given that Meritt continues to impress us every time we see him, we allowed this segment to go unscripted to see how the others kept up with him. Stevie struggled a little, but Barron and Marty played off each other really well, in an impressive segment. This was done to close the investigation for the night (we didn’t want to overdo it), and set up the match that followed.<hr color=black></span></p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="uBokuV0.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/uBokuV0.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="d1kRub2.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/d1kRub2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="n1XP8Pv.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/n1XP8Pv.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="P76K4K5.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/P76K4K5.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="YbChInb.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/YbChInb.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Match #2:</strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><em>All Night Party bt. The commentators note that Curt’s usual smug expression is nowhere to be seen following that match! </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Rating: </strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong><span style="color:#FF0000;">11</span></strong></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Booker’s Note:</strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> This wasn’t a great match, but served its purpose in giving All Night Party a much needed win. Unable to face the Tag Team Champions, due to the billing of their previous match, ANP are in a tricky spot at the minute. While in the “holding pen”, we gave them a win over Barron & Curt, the latter being pinned as he doesn’t lose too much in defeat, given he is only an occasional wrestler. It was also good to give Meritt a little bit of comeuppance, given the power he has had while “stirring the pot” in recent weeks.<hr color=black></span></p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="TBC5hLk.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/TBC5hLk.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="n1XP8Pv.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/n1XP8Pv.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="YbChInb.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/YbChInb.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Match #3:</strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><em>Hellion bt. Rocky Weatherfield ran down to help his tag team partner, but was taken down by Hellion just as easily. Hellion stood over The Sunshine Connection, a dark day for the two best friends. </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Rating: </strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong><span style="color:#FF0000;">27</span></strong></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Booker’s Note:</strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> A fairly poor match, but the tried and tested Hellion formula played out, and “American Hellspawn” continues to be pushed heavily. He is going to be a key player, and we felt Drew Danson could be sacrificed in singles competition, as a competent opponent to really put over the dominance of Hellion. The post-match segment served the same purpose, and set up another future match for the big man.<hr color=black></span></p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="P76K4K5.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/P76K4K5.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Segment #5:</strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> Curt Meritt cut a promo in the back, banged up and hurt from the match earlier in the night. Meritt said that he understands why ANP might want to undermine his investigation, and hints that they may have something to hide. Nonetheless, despite taking one hell of a beating, the investigation will continue… until Curt gets to the bottom of this! </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Rating: </strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong><span style="color:#008000;">44</span></strong></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Booker’s Note:</strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> There’s only so much you can praise one person, but this was an excellent segment from Curt Merrit that ticked every box we needed it to. Probably the best thing I’ve seen from anybody on this roster since I got down here, and why this guy isn’t under lock and key with a full-time contract, I don’t know. He put over ANP brilliantly by selling his bumps and bruises throughout, while furthering the storyline as we needed him to. Great work from Merrit, we’ve really got something with him.<hr color=black></span></p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="If3ZlQs.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/If3ZlQs.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="uRqN83Y.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/uRqN83Y.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="n1XP8Pv.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/n1XP8Pv.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="Pok62tJ.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/Pok62tJ.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="mfkmtbH.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/mfkmtbH.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>The Main Event:</strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><em>Deever Arnold & Whole Lotta Marvin bt. With each passing week, these kids will learn more of what they need, and like Whole Lotta Marvin, they’ll pick stuff up from being in there with Arnold. Just over these first 5 weeks, Marvin has a completely different demeanor in the ring, and looks more comfortable next to Deever. While he seemed slightly off tonight, we’re definitely moving in the right direction.<hr color=black></span></p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="wAZo14z.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/wAZo14z.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Segment #6:</strong></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> Deever Arnold & Whole Lotta Marvin stood tall, but the night wasn’t over there. Monday, February Week 2, 2020 - Episode #6 of “Tomorrow’s Stars… Tonight!”

PG2sl1n.jpgDyCQ9x9.jpg

Tonight is a big night in terms of storyline development, and Jean and I made sure that everybody was 100% aware of their role. We have a big segment planned featuring a large portion of the roster, and this made managing them more difficult throughout the day. With just 4 days between this show and RIPW Rivalry, it was another busy week down here in Rhode Island.<hr color=black>

TV0a2KI.png

<hr color=black>

P76K4K5.png

Segment #1: As the commentators introduce the show, Curt Meritt cuts off his colleagues to reveal that he has made a breakthrough on the case. He takes a microphone and announces that every single member of the RIPW roster is expected in the ring at the end of the night. The investigation concludes tonight… and Forrest Ratzloff’s attacker will be named! Rating: 39

Booker’s Note: A good opening segment that hopefully provides a hook for the rest of the show. This will of course be discussed throughout the night, but we will still prioritise promoting this weekend’s event, RIPW Rivalry. It almost doesn’t bear repeating, but Curt did a good job improvising once again, and is a real star turn in this storyline.<hr color=black>

If3ZlQs.pngn1XP8Pv.png2wUOf4A.png

Match #1: Deever Arnold bt. Barron Royal in 9:43, when Arnold hit the Cannonball Senton. Rating: 25

Segment #2: Deever Arnold cut a promo after the match, talking about his match at Rivalry with Warwick Good. He said that last week Good took advantage of the numbers game being against him, but Friday is just one on one. Just like it will be later tonight, when Warwick Good faces Whole Lotta Marvin. Deever says that Marvin is gonna kick Good’s ass, and he’ll beat what is left of him on Friday. Rating: 31

Booker’s Note: Deever Arnold continues to prove that he can drag almost everybody up a level or two, as we followed up a segment from a previous week with this match. Arnold is always capable of getting a crowd hotter, and the opening match was ideal for this. While Barron Royal didn’t look at his best, this was a nice opener, and Royal showed good charisma during his brief spell of control.

I see Deever as somewhat of a “made man” down here, and for that reason we used his post-match promo to put over Whole Lotta Marvin. A youngster with a lot of potential, having someone like Arnold backing him will definitely improve the fan’s perception of him. Another good showing from Deever, who continues to show a strong all round game. It shouldn’t be long before The Eisens are taking a look at him.<hr color=black>

wi5mljF.pngaqjwXVk.pngMrz3mwl.png

Segment #3: In the back, Bryan Jewett spoke with Zap Powerson, saying that despite the murmurs in the back, he wanted him to know that he believed him. Bryan was sure Zap had nothing to do with the Forrest Ratzloff attack. Zap was happy with this, and thanked Bryan, but Lisa Bowen wasn’t quite so magnanimus. She asked Bryan what compelled him to say such a thing. Why would he even need to clarify that? Bryan said that he didn’t mean it like that, he just wanted to support his friend. Zap told Lisa it was fine, but she didn’t look at all happy, as Bryan left the locker room. Upon parting, Bryan told Zap he’d see him in the ring. Rating: 38

Booker’s Note: Bryan and Lisa both improvised well in this segment, and did a good job of furthering the current storyline. Zap Powerson emerged as a suspect in the Forrest Ratzloff angle, and as we continue to build to that final segment, Lisa Bowen’s reaction leans further into that suggestion.<hr color=black>

wi5mljF.pngaqjwXVk.pngn1XP8Pv.pngWJQY7BO.pngcAEhUiV.png

Match #2: Bryan Jewett & Zap Powerson bt. The Wrecking Balls in 8:08, when Bryan pinned Crusher following a Fisherman’s Suplex. Rating: 17

Segment #4: The winning team were joined by Lisa Bowen after the match. Despite the pre-match tensions, the three seemed to be on the same page as they celebrated in the ring. Rating: 8

Booker’s Note: While Lisa did her best at ringside, this match lacked somebody in there with the psychology to keep it on track. Bryan was marginally more impressive than those he shared the ring with, but was by no means great. Four guys with a lot to work on, but we’re happy to see Bryan Jewett and Zap Powerson pick up their first win as a tag team. They worked okay together, but we hope to see some kind of chemistry develop, if they are to continue teaming in the long-term.<hr color=black>

g6I7wQ9.pngeo7qyc2.pngbIOjwoP.pngXK0dqUw.png

Segment #5: Watching in the back, Infamous were far from impressed with what they’d seen from Bryan & Zap, with Willie LaRoux set to face Jewett at “Rivalry”. Turning to the camera, Willie cut a promo on his future opponent, saying that he is coming for the title this Friday… to add even more gold, to the Hall of Infamy. Rating: 41

Booker’s Note: Willie LaRoux cut an excellent promo here, and really helped the build to this match. He is another member of the roster who is not quite there in-ring, but looks completely comfortable when talking to an audience. That is a huge part of making a star in the SWF, and we’ll continue to work on everything else. What is clear, is that we have a potential star on our hands in LaRoux, and he is helping his entire stable with a series of strong promos.<hr color=black>

wAZo14z.pngn1XP8Pv.pnguRqN83Y.png

Match #3: Warwick Good bt. Whole Lotta Marvin in 10:30 with a Face First Suplex. Rating: 19

Segment #6: Warwick Good stood tall in the ring, as the commentators put over a hard-hitting performance, from the man who will face Deever Arnold at Rivalry! Rating: 17

Booker’s Note: This was a good win for Warwick Good, but a step back for Whole Lotta Marvin. He looked better with Deever Arnold beside him last week, and perhaps Marvin is in need of a partner full time. He’s a fan favourite, and clearly has great charisma, but his in-ring work verges on appalling at times. These two really didn’t click, and it might be an idea not to have them face off in singles competition again.<hr color=black>

uBokuV0.pngd1kRub2.png

Segment #7: All Night Party cut a promo from the back, reminding viewers of their win over Meritt & Royal last week, and pointing out that since they’ve been in Meritt’s office, they know this investigation is a sham. They will be out with the rest of the roster for that final segment however, because they can’t wait to see Curt Meritt fall flat on his face. Rating: 30

Booker’s Note: Further promotion of the final segment, as well as the follow up to All Night Party’s victory last week. As I said, these two are in a little bit of a “holding pen” at the moment, so while they are getting segments here and there, and did pretty well with this promo, there is a limit of what we are likely to do with them.<hr color=black>

TBC5hLk.pngn1XP8Pv.pngjZcv3vK.png

The Main Event: Hellion bt. Rocky Weatherfield in 6:24, after hitting his signature Devolution Bomb! Hellion has now defeated both members of The Sunshine Connection in back to back weeks. Rating: 28

Booker’s Note: There is a clear formula to the booking of Hellion, but the truth is that it works. Hellion looked just as dominant as he had on the previous week’s show, and Drew Danson’s fear of the monster at ringside also sold this well. We have very big plans for Hellion going forward, and his booking in the last few weeks has gone exactly as intended.<hr color=black>

P76K4K5.png

Segment #8: Curt Meritt headed out immediately following the Main Event, and while he wisely didn’t attempt to stop Hellion as he stormed past him, the rest of the roster dutifully filed out towards the ring.

uRqN83Y.pngIf3ZlQs.pngmfkmtbH.png7NihGnb.pngPok62tJ.pngYbChInb.pngFwKtX23.png2wUOf4A.pngwAZo14z.pngFa9HLDx.pngbIOjwoP.pngXK0dqUw.pnguBokuV0.pngd1kRub2.pngeo7qyc2.pngg6I7wQ9.pngH8OgCq0.pngwi5mljF.pngaqjwXVk.pngMrz3mwl.pngWJQY7BO.pngcAEhUiV.pngAVmjoxV.pngqIZ3x5U.png

Curt Merrit addressed the whole roster confidently, but soon began to flounder and stall for time. All Night Party were the first to call his bluff, and felt vindicated that Curt knew nothing. Meritt tugged on his collar, and began to stutter as he grew more flustered. It soon became clear that his “investigation” had amounted to nothing. However, as the roster began to cotton on to this, and turned on the man who had held them all under suspicion, he was saved by the bell…

hHdz3ix.png

Forrest Ratzloff made his return to RIPW, and sarcastically praised the work of Meritt, but said that he has one thing that he knows will draw the attacker out to admit what they did. Ratzloff then lifted the title off his shoulder, and raised it in the air. He said that he was cleared to compete, and all the attacker had to do to get a title shot… was to admit what happened.

A couple of glances were shared between opportunistic members of the roster, but nobody in the ring stepped forward. Instead, Forrest Ratzloff was jumped from behind by “American Hellspawn”!

TBC5hLk.png

Hellion grabbed the RIPW Champion, and hit him with a Chokeslam to the ground. The roster were in shock, but nobody dared move towards the monster. The show ended with Hellion picking the RIPW title off the ground, and making it clear that he wanted it! The commentators signed off the show, saying that it appeared that we had a RIPW Championship match, set for this Friday’s “Rivalry”! Rating: 39

Booker’s Note: The “big reveal” segment went well, the first major episodic storyline that we have done since I came to the company. The ending was deliberately a little bit vague, with no explicit confirmation that Hellion was behind the attack. With Forrest Ratzloff off TV for the entire month, this was a rushed way to set up the title match at Rivalry, but did the job and gave us an impactful ending to the “Go-Home” show. While not necessarily the ideal build, it got us where we needed to be, and the match will be the Main Event of a very solid card this Friday. Curt Meritt was able to show his acting chops once again, while Forrest handled his part of the promo well. All round, a successful ending to the show, which also keeps this storyline open for further development.<hr color=black>

Overall Rating: 31Attendance: 168 (+13)

The show increased our popularity in Rhode Island

<hr color=black>Final Thoughts: As I said above, the final segment went well, on a show which just about went as expected. The promo from Willie LaRoux was a slightly surprising highlight, and we did a good job of building to this Friday’s card. Deever Arnold and Warwick Good are sure to put on an excellent match, while all three titles will be defended on the show. Mean Jean and I will spend the rest of the week finalising the booking of “Rivalry”, while laying out plans for the couple of weeks of shows afterwards. There are big talks ongoing following the relative success of our weekly show, and we hope to have a big announcement regarding the future of “Tomorrow’s Stars… Tonight!” in the very near future.

Just wanted to jump in and say you have a great diary going here. I´m unfamiliar with pretty much everyone in this roster so will be interesting to learn about them and what I can expect from them if I ever get a chance to book some of them myself.

<p>I loved that last segment. I'm always a sucker for getting the roster on the stage moments but that was just executed really well, nice to see that storyline come to a great close (or at least partial close? I suppose it depends on like you say if Hellion really was the attacker, I'd guess no though). </p><p> </p><p>

Either way though it's a great way to set up that title match. It's impressive that despite it not being a lengthy read you're getting everything that needs to be in.</p>
