Thank you! I think that's one of the fun things about RAW...

 

Normally when I'm booking, I'd be always focused on the PPV, yeah you might put some big matches on TV every so often, or even do it a lot. But you're always working towards the PPV. And in the grand scheme of things even the PPVs in some way are all working towards a big Wrestlemania style show.

 

But with none of that to think about, it forces me to make sure each show is good. I can't just think oh this is a throwaway week just to hype up the week after or anything like that. Now that's not to say that every single week I'll be able to actually provide a good show! That's another matter. But at least it won't be for a lack of trying!

Well technically there's always the chance you'll get 0 next but let's not consider that possibility!

 

For me JT used his powers to thaw Gladiator out of a block of ice. So he's firmly in my good books for that, but I'm pretty sure he can play a heel in game so I'd definitely never say never.

I'm definitely sticking with the whole PDF thing, I know in some ways people might prefer it to be just posted on here, but I find it a fair bit faster for me. But I more mean like is the font ok? Can people always read everything? I know sometimes with the backgrounds perhaps the writing is a little less clear?

 

But basically if anyone has any issues or tips for things I could/should change and improve then I'd always appreciate them!

Yeah, that’s what I’ve really enjoyed about booking RAW this time around too, the weekly episode format. In previous games I’d add the monthly event and switch back to the “traditional” weekly tv show building to a PPV schedule, but this time around I stuck with weekly tv, meaning every show is as important as the last, and you really can book week to week.

 

That, and the new product settings really make it feel different to other games. I’m just starting a WWE 2004 save and it already feels COMPLETELY different...

The format is absolutely BRILLIANT. I genuinely love it, from the layout to the pace, to the writing style... it really feels like an episode of RAW (well, how I’d imagine it anyway!).

 

It’s so good, in fact, that if I’m ever tempted to start another diary with this game (I’m thinking a January 1998 WWF save?) I might be tempted to hit you up for some ideas?

Definitely feel free. Early 1998 would be in interesting time too. I assume Tyson would be in the mod and I think he's just about to turn up. Triple H's DX hasn't started yet. And Rock still in NoD.

Me too to be honest! I knew I wanted to do something as there's a few teams I want to/have split up so I need replacements. It was going to just happen naturally but I thought this way fits RAW more.

 

I knew Tombstone's booking wouldn't go down well with everyone, Lynx is actually as popular as him so it's not too weird, but yeah in my mind Tombstone is the bigger star. I wouldn't worry though he's moving on to other things.

Lie Detector was class!! Needed more BINGs at the end though. Loxley kind of asked two questions and got one bing. There's a character on CBBC (kid's tv in the uk) called bing and I HATE that guy!!

 

You're right about Swoop Main Eventing five weeks in a row. Was this a conscious decision because he's amazing? Or did you notice it after the five weeks? He's Main Evented I think 3 out of 6 of my shows. Off the top of my head. Could be 4.

It was conscious decision actually, how long the run will go on for only time well tell! But I wanted to make it really clear that it's the Swoop show (in fact I was originally going to call it The Swoop Hour instead of The Main Event Hour a little bit like how Smackdown was pretty much named for The Rock to be his show. Of course I'm running the risk of people tiring of Swoop, but he won't necessarily always be at the forefront, I just wanted to make sure he was early on in the diary to firmly establish him as the figurehead for anyone who isn't familiar with RAW.

 

Another fantastic show, great work!

The Brat Pack's transformation is fantastic. Really funny segment with Mac. Poor Rod Sullivan, nice way to promote the tag speed dating, which is a great idea (don't know if I mentioned it first time round).

 

I notice there's a lot of playground gossip around the locker room too, which suits how I'd like to imagine backstage at a RAW show. Lie Detector was done really well. Liked the red and green. Reminded me a little of Moe in the Simpsons, and of course the Vince lie detector. another very good segment.

 

The Gimmick Doctor this show gets more ridiculous by the week...

 

Looking forward to the MJ/Swoop blow off, though I think there's plenty of legs in the storyline yet.

In a way it's a shame for everyone to predict correct that Swoop was losing, part of me wanted his first loss (at least proper loss) to be shocking, but like some of you said I couldn't neuter Main Event Mafia by having him just steamroll through them all and there was the storyline with him slowly accumulating damage over the 6 weeks.

 

I was tempted to have Steele/Goode get involved like a few of you predicted but I wanted the win to really affect Maurice's career and so it needed to be clean (obviously a little tainted due to all of Swoop's injuries).

 

Predictions for Episode 7 will be up today. I'm enjoying getting them out at a decent pace. I imagine when lockdown ends they could settle down to something like 1 a week. But I've got at least another 6 weeks before starting work again so looking forward to getting deep into this.

This is so hard. I have no idea who teams up together but I am most curious about Manhunter. He can play a straight face deadpan type guy really well so would love to see him turn to a face with a wacky guy like Isaac Taylor.
