It's a tough one really because posting on docdroid makes it easy to track exactly how many clicks each episode is getting, and there's been a pretty steep decline since the change to these new renders... But I really like them for a bunch of reasons. I do think it's mostly coincidental and more linked to the fact that a couple of my regulars are less active on the boards at the moment but I can imagine how swapping away from all the default pictures makes the diary a little less accessible to a new reader so it's good to hear anything positive about them.

It's not going too good for the family lately, but they might just have a chance to do some recovering next week!

Next episode predictions coming soon. Just to keep the road map open to everyone... we have episode 28 which will have the draw for round 2 of the tournament and two pretty huge matches. Then we have 'Game Shows Make Us Feel Good', then back to the tournament. I have a few of these special episodes planned including a 2nd Movie Night and maybe a 2nd Quest Open Invitational, I like the idea of them being used as a break in between rounds. It's a pretty huge tournament so I want to avoid it getting stale with both the readers and myself.

 

 

EDIT: I've also just edited the above show to be embedded into the actual forum. Any thoughts on how that looks would be appreciated. I think it's a little less zoomed in that when you click on the external link but perhaps there's some benefit to keeping it on the forum.

Episode 28

 

With Round 1 of The DeerBaby TV Title Tournament in the bag, we have a huge match and the draw for the second round this week.

 

TV Title

'Hot Rod' Sullivan vs 'The Lord of the Ashes' Tombstone

Rod has gotten himself, and the TV Title, in a sticky situation. When Rahmel Goode's heart attack forced the title to be vacated, the power vacuum lead to chaos in the form of a paintball fight. To help bring some sense of stability the title was bestowed upon Rod. His duty is to hold the belt until the tournament can determine a rightful champion. But there's one problem, Tombstone. He doesn't recognise Rod as the champion and believes the title still to be vacant and free for him to simply take. Through bullying Rod he was able to get him to put the title on the line in a match. Has Rod doomed RAW? What will happen to the title tournament if Tombstone becomes the champion? How many working limbs will Rod have after the match? We find out this week.

 

 

Will Kerry Wayne get his hands on Will Beaumont?

Last week went badly for Kerry, he ended the show handcuffed, unable to reach Will Beaumont who enjoyed taunting his rival. But whether by hook or by crook, surely sooner or later Kerry will be able to take revenge. Will it be this week?

With George already kicked out and CJ continuing to dissapoint Monty Croft, some drastic actions are taken this week. Who has Croft signed as the newest member of RAW's resident boy band? Hint: He is a former RAW tag team champion.

 

Main Event Mafia

A couple weeks back Matt Stoppard was arrested trying to rob a local bar to payback Maurice Jackson. Don Jackson then wasted no time in offering his 'services' to the bar owner. Slowly Jackson has expanded MEM from a mafia-themed wrestling powergroup to a genuine criminal organisation. But someone will stand up against him this week. Who will it be? (Swoop McCarthy, Frogue Element, Loxley Robbins, Nathan McKenzie or Nicky Gilbert).

I can't imagine any potential new readers wanting to fully read all previous 28 episodes, but if you wanted to quickly skim it. For a while I've wanted to jump back in but two things were stopping me; 1) There's lots of plans I have for the future that I was looking forward to but for some reason I just couldn't motivate myself to write the next couple of shows. 2) I didn't like the idea of just posting the next episode and acting like I've not been away.

 

So I was happy once I worked out this plan as I think it brings it back in as natural way as possible. Great to see you still around. Hopefully we see something from you in the future whether it's back to APW or something new?

DeerBaby doesn't surprise me really. He was brought in a bit low key, mostly in the 'here's what you've missed' segments and only for probably 2 or 3 episodes before the break. Also the whole story with him is that he's brought in for the tournament for the film studio to keep their prize money but I made him look and be so stupid so nobody would really consider him a contender. The last few weeks of the tormurnament it slowly becomes clear that he actually might cheat all the way to the title so the roster began to get angry as the whole sell of the tournament was to find a deserving champ. But of course with me cramming 4 weeks into just one slide none of the details got in. Fortunately for all DeerBaby is gone and we can all move on.

The secret is out...

 

I won't spoil it here but just to keep things updated both The_Lloyd and HiPlus scored 4/5 in the contest so I'll give you both a point. If you do want to cash them in you can see the list above with how much stuff costs.

 

Also Beautiful Heartbreak's AMA has been postponed until the next show. I was going to have it as a short little promo on this show but it fits well into the next episode.

 

What I often did in previous shows is try to advance each storyline every week (or at least most of them). Whereas I'm trying out something a bit different where each week will focus on one storyline heavily (this week the Wayne Family/Will storyline). Whilst it runs the risk of readers forgetting about certain storylines as key stars might go a couple weeks without even being on the show I like the idea that each episode has it's own direction and focus that is always different from the last. I think it fits how I envisage RAW better.
