Introduction...

Did you think this was a Keith family diary?

Yes?! Well, screw all of that. Because this is Vegas Championship World Wrestling. VCW simply doesn't have any of that.

Several days earlier...

Keith Vegas sat alone in his empty bedroom in his mother's house in Wichita, Kansas. It was windy out - but it's always windy in Kansas. It was also freezing outside, which is quite uncommon for Kansas. But the weather is always unpredictable nowadays.

Having been let go from Mid Atlantic Wrestling back in November of 2016, Keith simply did not know what to do with himself. In the near three and a half years he's spent unemployed, he has yet to make another big break. He's only wrestled a total of ten matches since leaving MAW, in or around the local circuit in his homestate.

"KEITH!" A woman shouted. "ARE YA PLANNIN' TO SPEND THE WHOLE DAY UP THERE AGAIN, DUMBASS?!"

"Can it, ma! I'ma stay up 'ere as long as ah want to!" Keith yelled back in his nasally, high pitched voice. There was a reply, "BOY! WHEN YOUR FATHER GETS HOME I OUGHTA HAVE HIM BEAT YER ASS!" Mrs. Vegas was screaming now.

That was enough for Keith. All the warning he needed. Mr. Vegas, despite being the father of a perennial loser, was a man to be feared. "What is it?" Keith asked as he headed downstairs and entered the kitchen of the Vegas' average, two-story house. His younger sister, Brittany, sat at the dining room table.

"Jeez. It's like every time I see you I feel worse. You ain't never gon' make something good come out of yer worthless life, are ya?" She sneered. Compared to Keith, Brittany was a model. Unfortunately for her, that was when compared to Keith. She wasn't bad looking, but she definitely wasn't pretty. She had tried her hand at wrestling too, but quit when she found out how much physical work it was. She later became a successful Video Game Streamer. She was only visiting, as she lived in Los Angeles.

Keith ignored her, and went to his mother. Turns out, she had wanted him to run to the store for her. He did, as he has almost every day for the past three years.

Eventually his father came home, and the day ended on a relatively average note. They ate dinner. They went to bed. Keith stayed up sobbing until about 11:44 PM, when his father came into his room.

Mr. Vegas

"Son!" Mr. Vegas hollered at Keith. "Quit yer tears. Since when have we Vegas' ever sobbed like this? Get ahold of yourself. I'm sick of it. I can't have a failure of a son like you in my household." Mr. Vegas looked at the calendar. "If you don't got yourself a job within the next week, I'm sending you out onto the streets, boy!" Mr. Vegas stormed out of the room - stomping and slamming doors all throughout the house.

That was when Keith knew what must be done. He gathered up all the money he saved from his years spent with MAW, on the independent scene and counted it.

"Twelve Thousand Five Hundred and Seventy Five dollars."

<p></p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><span style="font-size:12px;">The date was Tuesday, week 1, January 2020. Keith Vegas had not gone out of his way to try and find a job. Keith Vegas, had not done anything out of the ordinary aside from make a ton of phone calls. He called the bank, his best bud, hell - even his former employer Sam Keith, of MAW.</span></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="font-size:12px;">"KEITH!" His mother called for him. He quickly went downstairs. "What is it, ma?" He asked, calmly. She looked at him as though she had seen a ghost.</span></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="font-size:12px;">"Boy, why are you talking normally? What you been makin' all 'dem calls today for?" She stared a whole through the young Kansas native. Through the sprout faced boy. All the way through until she reached Keith Vegas, the son of Edna Vegas. He couldn't lie, but he couldn't tell the truth either. Either way, he was screwed. So he found a compromise.</span></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="font-size:12px;">"I've been lookin' for a regular job, ma." Keith replied, trying to look as honest and happy as possible. She looked at him for a moment, then embraced him. "Look at my boy! Finally give up on that stupid pro wrasslin' stuff, eh?" She chuckled. "That's it. Your father will be so happy to hear the news!"</span></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="font-size:12px;">Keith ended the conversation there and scrambled back to his room. He'd been making phone calls all days to various people, asking for tips, pros and cons, and stuff the likes of which he had never heard of asking about before. Keith was embarking on an endeavor he'd never thought of doing before. He was opening his own wrestling company. Unfortunately, this would be frowned upon by his family, and also unfortunately, he'd been scammed out of $5,000 to set up a crappy </span><a href="https://gavbradplanetmc.wixsite.com/vegaschampwrestling" rel="external nofollow"><span style="font-size:12px;">website</span></a><span style="font-size:12px;"> that he could've done himself for free. That left him with $7,575 to run a wrestling company.</span></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="font-size:12px;">He sighed. The days were about to get long, but boy he would make them count. He had until the end of the week to get this all ready to go, and he had planned on promoting his first show by the end of the month. Things were about to get rough for our Sprout Faced Boy..</span></p></div><p></p><p></p>

The week was up. It was time.

M6kO1Pp.jpg

"Son? Did you go out and get yourself a job like I asked you to?" Mr. Vegas entered Keith Vegas' room, trademark hat held at his chest. This was the most emotional Keith had ever seen his father. Keith looked at the poor old man and sighed.

"You bet, Dad. Got me a job out of town. Gonna have to make an hour long drive everyday." Keith put on the best not-a-complete-liar face he could, and it was good enough. His Dad chuckled, patted him on the shoulder and left the room.

In reality, Keith's "out-of-town" job was very much in-town. He had purchased a tiny old warehouse in Wichita and set up a wrestling base there. He had contacted several people and made them offers to come and work. Most of them like him - perennial losers, and some looking to find somewhere to make their big splash in the industry. Of course, he could never tell his parents about this, or at least - not yet.

He had the perfect plan, he would leave for "Work" in the morning and then sneak back in through his bedroom window. There, he would remain silent all day, doing various work online (thank god for the internet, he thought.) At the end of the day, after his dad got home, Keith would sneak back out and come back in through the front door. His family wasn't all that smart, so it was a flawless plan. On nights where an event was scheduled, he could simply tell them he stayed out with friends from work. Surely this will work...

Why wouldn't it?

Putting together a roster was a hell of a lot harder than Keith had expected, considering in the nearest areas there were only a select minority of unemployed workers who'd be willing to wrestle for peanuts - much like he once did. He contacted everyone he could, and finalized deals by the end of Week 2 of January. Everything was coming together, and that's when he decided on the name for VCW's debut show.

Well of course you need someone with some talent to win the main title. Also how many titles do you have? Goodness.

What? It was all Keith could afford to purchase for a 'locker room'. Overtime, it should probably get bigger.. probably.</span></p><p> </p><p> <span style="font-size:12px;">Anyways, upon entering the backstage area there was already signs of everything going wrong. First off - Golden Delicious was being chewed out by the resident road agent, Fabulous Frank, for making a mess of the place and not cleaning up. This was true. Who knows what she was doing, but who really cares? Not Keith, that's for sure. Secondly, the second big problem was that only three of the 'title belts' Keith ordered had actually come in. The Intercontinental, World Heavyweight and World Tag Team - meaning three out of five belts were actually going to be featured tonight. Fortunately enough, they weren't that expensive - being generic replica belts he found at the local stores in Wichita, so he could always buy more. He grabbed the three he had and gave them to the referees. The Intercontinental belt was a plastic replica instead of a metallic one, but that didn't bother Keith. As long as it looked good enough strapped around someone's shoulder, he didn't give two shits whether or not the belt was real.</span></p><p> </p><p> <span style="font-size:12px;">With that, Keith started off the show by sending out Sgt. A bruised and battered Keith Vegas returned home late. He snuck in through the front door and crept up to his bedroom, careful not to alert his sleeping family.

He was wise enough to keep the World Heavyweight title belt back at the warehouse, as to not risk anyone finding it while snooping into his room. He looked in his bedroom mirror and started to began to wash his face. He needed to try and somewhat hide the gigantic bruise on his forehead - a remnant of The Hangman's beatdown.

That's it. It just struck him.. the name for February's show. VCW Presents: The Hangman & The Keith! These were great wrestling show names. Although someone told him post-show that the event name sounded more like a book than a wrestling show. But Keith didn't care. He liked the titles of his shows, and the next one would be The Hangman & The Keith.
