August 2020 - #18 What comes next?

The Sam Keith Classic is absolutely one of my favourite times of the year as an owner and booker. Under my roof is a tournament that is held to celebrate the best of tag team wrestling on the independent circuit and it's almost always an excellent occasion. This year was no different. We expanded it to allow 16 teams to enter and played it out over two nights to a great response from the fans in attendance. But with the tournament arises an issue every year that I always, even at 60 years old with all my years in the business, feel funny about...

Is it unfair to book your own guys to win? Does it show favouritism? Even if some of the guys on the roster have earned the accolade can you really justify putting your talent over other companies talent in this day and age? At least you certainly couldn't do it without a bit of backlash from some pockets of fans given that they're now smarter and savvier to the ways of the business.

Back in the old days of the territories, most guys would never consider the idea of putting outside talent over their own but this is no longer the old days. Plus, with the introduction of WrestleWorld and video sharing websites on the internet, fans of your own company are now more likely than ever to see workers from other areas and know their worth. It's a difficult path to navigate but ultimately I feel I made the right call. Rich & Famous are currently killing it over in PSW with a hot run as tag champions and undefeated for the year. Why wouldn't I allow them the opportunity to continue that run of form? If I'm the guy who created the COTT alliance and wants the territories to thrive, I should be the guy who leads by example, right? I mean I could've gone the other way with and fully embraced putting MAW talent over everyone else. What are they gonna do? I'm the boss! But, no, I'm not tyrannical. You have to be pragmatic in this business. It's easy to see what can happen to some companies and people when they're not.

Either way, the heel vs heel dynamic to close the show killed the evening a little bit as the fans weren't fully digging it. I accept that and perhaps I could've been a bit smarter with the booking. But overall I'm pleased with how the two evenings played out. There was some tremendous wrestling on display with good stories told throughout the evening and we even managed to continue to advance company storylines whilst not detracting from the overall show. A great success from a wrestling perspective and with being sold out on back-to-back nights, we only lost $5000 on the month after all the costs associated with it. A good month given everything involved.

So now we move onto August and what this month brings. Our big show is The Battle Of The Mid-Atlantic and we've got our big match for that pencilled in with Findlay vs Caulfield. The 6 weeks since our last 'in-house' show almost makes it a clean break for some of our performers and a fresh start for the second half of the year. We're also only 2 months from Where It All Begins Again and so we need to continue to build towards that. A lot of work ahead but with the creative team I have by my side and the talent I have at my disposal, it's gonna be fun.

- Both teams have had less than stellar 2020's so far and both suffered first-round exits in the Sam Keith Classic so this was a match that both teams were determined to win.

- And that shone through. A hot opener for a hot crowd. Each team wouldn't let up and give an inch to another and this match went the distance. Neither team could afford to lose and on this night, neither did.

The Heartbreak Express drew with The Wolf Pack after the match reached the time limit

- The ultimate definition of a 'squash match'.

- Randleman & Monk exemplified exactly what is it they are about with pure raw power as they ragdolled their opponents for a few minutes before mercifully ending the beatdown.

- Joey Fili hasn't had an excellent year but is consistently showing signs of improvement and becoming a fiercer competitor. However, nobody would envy him of the task he had tonight.

- Findlay returned 6 weeks ago in emphatic fashion and has a date with Chris Caulfield coming up. He was a man on a mission tonight and went to work in the ring as Tennessee William watched on from a distance.

- Fili showed some great fighting spirit but the youngster was no match for the big bruiser as he was put away with the Atomic Spinebuster.

Tyrone Gray [vs] Trix Triumph

- Both men had something to prove here tonight. Triumph hasn't featured much in MAW so far this year and so would look to build some momentum. Gray had recently split ways with long-term partner Nate DeMarcus and looked to prove he can go solo.

- A fairly even match with both men exchanging momentum throughout went the way of Gray in the end as he ended things with his Tumbleweed Splash.

Jacobs: "Bradley Blaze got a double dose of luck in his title defences against me. He's a decent champion but sooner or later his time is going to come to an end. But just because I lost to Blaze doesn't mean I don't qualify for gold anymore. It would be a mistake for anyone to count me out. Don't count me out. The quest for gold and respect is never-ending and as I said a few months back I'm not hanging about for opportunities anymore. I'm taking them before anyone else can take them from me!

- Ade Nelson is another guy in MAW who is a strong competitor but hasn't seen much action this year with this being only his 3rd time in a MAW ring this year.

- He has the task of tempering and overcoming the newly found aggression and determination in Nate DeMarcus who is striking out on his own in singles action.

- A good match that fell just shy of ten minutes. Towards the end the ref was knocked to the floor as DeMarcus had the advantage. Enter: Josh Jacobs. He returned to the ring and made a beeline for Nate with hs big boot but instead he caught on/off partner Ade Nelson. DeMarcus took out Jacobs with a Snap Tackle before doing the same to Nelson. The ref recovered and made the count.

Miller Fforde [vs] Jonah Pilgrim

- These two MAW veterans have met several times before and don't often disappoint. They didn't disappoint here either.

- A good match that kept the evening ticking over met its end with a Fforde Flip Face Crusher to give Fforde a momentum boosting victory as Pilgrim hasn't looked the same since being seemingly abandoned by The Architect.

Fforde: "This year has been one up and a series of downs for me. I made the final of the Rip Chord Invitational and haven't done much since. I'm not gonna sulk. I'm not gonna cry about it. I'm going to do something. A few months ago I came up just short in a title match vs Davis Wayne Newton. He caught me by surprise with his STF. That was a match I could have and should have won. I want another shot. I won't demand it. I'll earn it because that's what the best do. They earn what they're given."

American Made [vs] The Disaster Artists

- These two teams have a recent history together with TCW coming together after altercations involving the duo as well as Harvey Robbinfield & Cheetah Boy. The Disaster Artists fared more successfully in the Sam Keith Classic but both teams still came up short and there was a fiery nature to this one.

- These two teams put on the Match of the Night in an excellent back-and-forth affair. After an Irish whip to the corner had gone wrong and taken out the referee, Harvey Robbinfield arrived ringside and started to lay into shots to Whitehead as the fans cheered him on. With America & Keenan briefly indisposed The Architect went to the aid of Whitehead but as he did so Jonah Pilgrim sprung from nowhere and took him out with a huge clothesline.

- The two abandoned/betrayed partners got in their shots at The Disaster Artists before throwing them back into the ring. Keenan hit his Belly to Belly Suplex and this one was over.

American Made def. The Disaster Artists in 13:36 via pinfall

Post-Match

BFT enter the fray and look to beatdown Pilgrim & Robbinfield but Keenan & America jump to their aid and fight off the bruteish duo. Whitehead & Architect recover and begin to attack also with a big brawl breaking out between the eight men.

Things slowly settle as the groups separate as they look ready to go to war.

Pre-Match Promo

Deadline enters the arena for his showdown with Caulfield joined by Findlay & William. The three men walk the ramp as a chorus of boos rain down upon them from the fans in attendance. William grabs a mic and all three step into the ring as he waits for the jeers to die down before addressing the crowd.

William: "Honestly, if I had a dollar for every time someone in this audience said something smart I'd be broke.

Bring all the heat and insults you want people because nothing and no one can bring us down... not even Chris Caulfield because he's going to regret his actions at the Sam Keith Classic not once but twice. First at the hands of Deadline and secondly at the hands of Findlay.

Chris, I sincerely hope you know what you've ask for buckaroo because if you're not careful... these two matches coming up for you could be your last."

William is cut off at the end of that sentence by Caulfield entering the arena to a thunderous 'pop' from the Baltimore audience. He's fired up and ready to go. William & Findlay step out of the ring and sit beside the commentary team.

Chris Caulfield [vs] Deuce Deadline

- This match was a wild brawl as expected and would perhaps give Findlay a brief insight as to what he would expect in two weeks when he faces Caulfield in the street fight.

- The two men slugged it out as the fans ate it up. Deadline insisted throughout that he wanted no interference from Findlay or William and, to their credit, they didn't get involved.

- Deadline showed a lot of toughness but even at the age of 46 Caulfield showed that he still has stuff left in the tank and is still as tough as nails. Caulfield ended things with his Danger Drop to secure the win.

- Findlay briefly threatened to get involved after the bell but he grabbed Deadline and walked away and gave Caulfield his moment of victory.

August 2020 - #19 The Battle of The Mid Atlantic

Did you know that the last time any MAW championship changed hands in the month of August was back in 2006 when D.C Rayne & Eddie Howard, Natural Storm, won the tag titles for the second time? I just thought that was interesting.

Naturally, we aim to make every show an exciting, entertaining and must-watch event for the fans of our product but every wrestling company in the world has events that are bigger than others in their calendars. Whether it was done by design or simply through chance, it always happens. This is one of our bigger ones. It brings us back from the break that the Classic brought and pushes us forward to our finale 'Where It All Begins Again'.

In keeping with trying to encourage the idea of this being a big event, we have gone all out to make a card that is dynamic, engaging and story-driven enough to satisfy the hunger of our rabid fans. There are spotlight matches to showcase our young stars, grudge matches galore, tasty title defences and a street fight including an industry legend that brings our titanic ten match card all together. We're continuing to do ourselves proud and I can't thank Jay and Marvin enough for their continued work and commitment to the company. I couldn't do it without them and we wouldn't be here without you.

The brawn and menace of BFT versus the slick tag-team style of Keenan & America. - Monk & Randelman tried their best to get a grip on the match and build some momentum but Keenan & America have developed a rapport exceptionally quickly in the past few months and were wise to everything that BFT had to offer. - One thing they weren't quick enough to dodge though was BFT's reliable method of causing destruction. Wicked steel chair shots. The referee called for the DQ but they didn't care as they laid waste to the babyface duo before walking away to a chorus of boos. <div style="text-align:center;">American Made def. Every team had something to prove in this 4 v 4 match up. - Ultimately, to the surprise of many, after a messy affair in the build-up to the end of the match it was Ralph Liotta who got the pinfall on The Historian after landing his swinging neckbreaker. Whitehead left with The Architect and from there they formed the Twentieth Century Watch alongside BFT. - Robbinfield has retribution on his mind tonight and wastes no time in going to work on his former partner who clearly wasn't expecting Robbinfield to be quite this fired up. - The match is a 10-minute hate-filled brawl. Robbinfield definitely got his licks in but ultimately couldn't get the win as Whitehead rolled him up by the tights for leverage to get the 3-count. <div style="text-align:center;">Seth Whitehead def. Clearly, The Pilgrim isn't taking kindly to just being 'forgotten' and sought to capture The Architect's attention at Evolved 2 weeks ago and that's precisely what happened. - Jonah came up short against Miller Fforde a fortnight ago and the situation was the same tonight. Despite a willingness and determination to prove he's on the level with his former partner it just wasn't to be. Pilgrim fought with heart but the submissions and limb isolation shots were too much to take and he ultimately tapped out to The Blueprint <div style="text-align:center;">The Architect def. Don't blame me for you not being worthy of a title shot. I've beaten Jacobs twice and he feels that I got lucky and he still could be a champion? Go and eat shit, chump. It turns out you're just not good enough. You lost tonight to Cheetah Boy. I beat him this year too. Everyone feels they deserve my belt but Mr Keith has only deemed 2 of you worthy and neither were fit to shine my boots. I've beaten champions from other companies who've dared to step onto my turf and take a shot. So for all you whiners and bitchers and moaners out there who feel you could step up? DeMarcus was keen for gold and DWN was keen for revenge. Nate's raw power was matched up against DWN's more technical approach and it made for a very interesting match-up. - The crowd roared its approval with every strike, kick and slam that connected with Newton and DeMarcus looked every inch a champion in this match but tonight he'd fall short. - The crowd on his side and him fired up, he charged from the corner at full title towards DWN and seemingly connected with his powerful Snap Tackle but the savvy champion Newton somehow managed to completely roll through the manoeuvre and lock in his STF submission which nobody has survived yet. DeMarcus was no different and he tapped out. <div style="text-align:center;">Davis Wayne Newton def. Nate DeMarcus in 13:10 via submission. One of the true greats of the business and a man who excels in this sort of match, Chris Caulfield, coming up against one of the icons of MAW who has made an emphatic return at the expense of Caulfield, Findlay. - The match was branded as a 'street fight' and it very quickly began to live up to its name. With the match being a novelty of sorts to the fans of MAW they were very excited and intrigued and soon were involved in the thick of the action. - Both men immediately started trading slugging right hands on the outside. Caulfield got the better of the exchange and then promptly whipped Findlay into the metal barricade with an echoing crash. The Hardcore American then clenched his fist tightly and hammered down on the forehead or Findlay several times as the crowd roared its approval. Feeling the energy from the crowd Chris took a few steps backwards and then ran towards Findlay for a clothesline but the big fella put up a boot to the jaw of Caulfield and then promptly, and with relative ease, propelled him over the barricade and into the audience who quickly scattered as Caulfield landed on the concrete. Findlay stepped over the barricade and waded his way through the crowd before putting a couple of stiff boots to the skull of Caulfield. - Findlay turned to the crowd and began to respond to a few of those in attendance who were smack-talking him. This offered Caulfield enough time to stumble to his feet and grab a wok that was offered to him by a fan. He staggered towards Findlay and smacked it off of the big guys head with a satisfying bonk. He cast the pan aside and grabbed the arm of Findlay and whipped him into a stone wall a few metres away from them. Grabbing Findlay's head he then pushed it with great vigour into the wall as it made an unpleasant crunching sound. Crumpling to the ground we could now see that Findlay had been busted open from the impact. Caulfield celebrated with his adoring fans, politely asked one of them to borrow their seat and then threw the steel chair towards Findlay on the ground who only narrowly rolled out of the way. - Findlay promptly sat up and stared coldly into the eyes of Caulfield with an unnerving intensity to it. He then hopped up to his feet, wiped the blood from his brow and charged at the patriot pushing him with a power that lifted Chris from his feet and sent him flying several feet into the barricade that he collided with that surely crunched his spine. Findlay then grabbed a cheese grater that a fan had brought into the hall and he scored it across the head of Caulfield instantly drawing blood that began to flow from his forehead. - The big bruiser hopped the barricade and from underneath the ring pulled out a table that he then set up between the ring and the barricade. Following this, he grabbed Caulfield by what's left of the icons fuzzy black hair and dragged him up and over the barricade and up onto the ring mat. Findlay hoisted Chris up to his feet and slapped his frying pan-sized hands against his opponent's neck and gripped tightly. The fans anticipated what was coming and began to shout 'No!' but Findlay ignored their pleas and lifted Caulfield into the air before throwing him through the table with an emphatic chokeslam. The wooden table splintered into hundreds of pieces as the body crashed through it and Findlay laughed heartily at the state of the 46-year-old legend who didn't look good at all. - Findlay then once again looked under the ring and pulled out 5 or 6 steel chairs and slid them into the ring where he assembled them into an untidy pile where he waited impatiently for his opponent to roll into the ring. A minute or so passed before the crowd erupted into cheers as their hero slowly rose from the floor and slowly rolled into the ring. He clutched the ropes tightly and pulled himself to a standing position as Findlay looked down at him with disdain. - He was dragged across the ring towards the pile of chairs. Findlay looked at Chris, then to the pile of steel and then back to Chris but as he glanced back at his opponent, Chris had dropped to his knees and landed a brutal low-blowing uppercut to the nethers of Findlay who immediately hunched over in pain. Caulfield fired himself up and signalled for his Danger Drop finish. Findlay reacted out of instinct though and pushed Caulfield away towards the ropes. Caulfield bounced back and was caught with Findlay's Atomic Spinebuster as he was planted into the mound of chairs. - Jay Fair looked on in astonishment at what he was witnessing. He instinctually went to check on the industry legend but before he could Findlay made the cover. Fair slapped his hand to the mat three times and then called for the bell. <div style="text-align:center;">Findlay def. Blaze is the company champion. It could be argued that Youngman is the champion of eight different companies in the form of being the COTT World Heavyweight champion. Either way, both men hold gold. Both belts are on the line and the anticipation for this bout from the fans has only increased in the aftermath of the street fight they just witnessed. - This match was over 20-minutes of exciting action in what could be argued is the best match in recent MAW history. Neither men were willing to give an inch to the other and both crowd favourites had moments of rallying the audience behind them as they each looked to put the other way. - The fight looked like it could go the distance as the fans were eating up every second of it but eventually controversy would rear its ugly head. After Youngman planted a superkick to the jaw of Blaze both men fell to the mat and the ref began to count to 10 but as he did so Findlay, Deadline & Tennessee William made their way along the ramp towards the ring as the rapturous cheers turned to deafening boos. - William said that their presence would be felt this evening and this is how it would be done. They all entered the ring together and stood in a triangle formation surrounding the downed duo. The ref continued to count to 10 but as he reached 7 both men slowly began to rise to their feet using each other to get to a standing position and once they were to their feet they stood, backs pressed against each other, looking at the situation that surrounded them. Youngman advanced toward William as Blaze stumbled towards Findlay. Findlay propped up Blaze and slammed him into the canvas with an Atomic Spinebusteras William did what he's done several times before and crushed his guitar against the skull of Youngman. Jay Fair had no option but to call for the bell. <div style="text-align:center;">Bradley Blaze went to a Double DQ with Ernest Youngman in 24:11. Both men retain their titles. Match Rating: 65 Post-Match Not content with simply ending the match early on their terms, the trio continues to lay waste to the champions with each man landing their finisher on both Youngman and Blaze. The fans begin to throw trash on the ring and some even throw missile-like weapons at the trio before the men dip out of the ring and head back up the ramp. We end with Youngman and Blaze left laying out cold in the middle of the ring. September 2020 - #20 Whatever It Takes

An unadulterated success is how I would class 'The Battle Of The Mid Atlantic'. The show was undoubtedly our strongest of the year, all the boys performed exceptionally and they deserve any plaudits coming their way.

Since the beginning of the year we have been in a gradual process of 'evolving' the style of our product. For years we've been putting on a product that most 'smarks' and professionals in the industry would class as 'Golden Age Pro Wrestling'. This refers to a time where, especially back in the 60's and 70's, wrestling was treated and viewed by fans as legitimate competition. Before the days of 'Kayfabe' and peeks behind the curtain the fans wholly believed that what they were seeing was legit. There were elements of flair and show-biz and extravagance poking through as well That was us. It still is. More so now than previously as I believe the 'product terms' are very open to interpretation. Now? We're what's classed as Silver Age Pro Wrestling. Where work rate is kind and the focus of the product is more about how talented the workers are inside the ring as opposed to how popular they are with fans. That was always us but... whatever?! It's confusing as hell, right? I don't even know what I'm saying at this stage. Let's pretend I said something really insightful and interesting, yeah?

What's important here is that we have an incredibly talented roster on our hands here. Some boys can work, some can talk, some can do both but all of them are hungry and keen to learn and keen to be their best. That's what Mid-Atlantic Wrestling is all about. The boys put on a hell of a show that the fans ate up and performed to the biggest audience of the year. We stayed in Baltimore but moved to a slightly bigger hall along the road that allowed over 400 fans to get in on the action as opposed to the 300 maximum allowed in Stanley Hall.

Chris Caulfield said his farewell to the business in an excellent street fight. It was never going to win MOTY but it proved how legitimately tough both guys were and put Findlay over like rover! He quietly announced his retirement on social media after the show so even the fans in attendance had no idea they'd just witnessed his last match. He didn't want a big song and dance. He just wanted to do the time-honoured tradition of the business and bow out.

September's Evolved is up next and it'll be a mesh of different things going on in the company as the show rolls on. I'm excited about what we've got going on here. I hope you are too and hope that you tune in for the show.

I'll see you down the road

“When you boys have a second come and join me out in the ring!”

I didn’t hang about in the locker room for long. The boys had worked hard and put on a hell of a show for those in attendance and you could smell the effort that they’d gone to in order to entertain those in attendance at The Battle of the Mid Atlantic. I walked through a long corridor, through our makeshift curtain/entrance spot and headed to the ring that was in the middle of our venue for tonight. As I scaled the ringside steps there was a ping and a vibration from my pocket. Presumably, some of the fans were tweeting about the show and tagging me in their statuses. Over 400 fans had been in attendance this evening and witnessed, in my opinion, our best show of the year so far.

I grabbed a chair and brought it into the ring with me where I sat it in the centre of the mat. I called across to Bobby Barnett, one of our TCW developmental talent to bring in two extra chairs which he gladly did. We have people who do come in and run the box office and help us out with running the live events but I always make sure that the boys are never getting too big for their britches and that they take it in shifts to always help clear the venue and take down the ring. It’s honest work and reminds them of what it takes to keep companies in operation so if they move on or make it to the big leagues they never forget the importance of the people around them keeping the engine running. As Bobby began to exit the ring I reminded him that everyone gets a shot at some point in the company and to keep working and training. He nodded in agreement and affirmed that he was happy to be here and to learn the business. From out of my jacket pocket I pulled out my trusty bottle of Lagavulin single malt and 3 shot glasses. “Bobby, wait…” I filled up one of the glasses and offered him a shot. He took a second to look at the glass and then look at me to assess the situation and see if I was serious or not.

“I’m only 18, sir.”

“Are you refusing to have a drink with Sam Keith?” I asked him with a tone of seriousness.

“Umm… Well no, I just…” came his nervous response.

“I’m just messing with you kid,” I said as I quickly switched my tone up to try and put him at ease. “I mean I certainly wouldn’t have told on you but you’re a smart kid.” A smile flashed across his face and he thanked me for the offer before dropping down and rolling out the ring. “Bobby” I called out to him. “I can do the rest. You get organised and head out and if you see Findlay and Chris back there tell them to hurry up.

I filled the other two glasses and placed them on the chairs that I had seated either side of me in the ring. I took my spot in the middle and placed the shot glass in my hand at my feet as I pulled out my phone to check what the notification was that I received a few moments ago. It was from Twitter.

It had only been a few minutes but there were already a few responses to Chris’ update and they would inevitably come in thick and fast over the next few hours as the word would make its way around the wrestling world. It was an understated retirement by all accounts that was perfectly befitting of a man who had been understated and underrated for a lot of his career. There was no official announcement of it being a retirement bout. He just went out, kicked some ass, did his best to put a younger guy over and went out on his back in the traditional fashion. He deserved a bigger send-off but instead, he got exactly what he asked for.

"You still not finished that bottle old-timer?" came the gravely call from behind the curtain.

"I could've sworn you were drinking that when I left this place six years ago" Findlay said as he adjusted his studded leather jacket at the arms. At his side was the man who had officially announced his retirement moments ago ensuring that an ice pack was securely strapped to his shoulder.

"Or maybe I've drunk many more and just kept this one back for when you return, hotshot?" I chirped back with a tongue-in-cheek assertiveness.

"You value me that much? Oof, I'm honoured"

"Should I give you two a moment to continue this back-slapping show of emotion?" Chris said jokingly.

"Just get your crippled old ass in this ring and drink with me"

Findlay hopped up to the ring and sat on the second rope whilst lifting the top to allow Chris easy access in the ring. Chris slowly climbed in and took a seat as Findlay followed and took the one to my right, both picking up the glasses.

"Well, Chris, you've had a hell of a run. To one hell of a career" I said as I raised the shot glass in the air.

"Woah, wait... what?! What do you mean a hell of a career?" came the confused response to my right.

"Have you not checked your phone yet?" Chris said.

"No."

"Well, congratulations. You just retired Chris Caulfield" I declared to the hall.

"Shit... Did I know about this and forget?" Findlay replied with puzzlement in his voice. "Chris, honestly I didn't know this was gonna be your last match"

"And you weren't supposed to, brother". Chris said contentedly. This was a man who, as he had said in a previous meeting, was satisfied with his lot in life and was happy with his decision. "Now raise your ****ing glass and toast me. Dink em' and sink em'"

The three of us laughed and we did as was instructed.

"You're the biggest bad-ass in the yard now, kid. It's good to have you back" I said gesturing towards Findlay.

"It's good to be back boss." Findlay said. "Thanks for the match, Chris. I'm honoured that you chose me for your last"

"I chose Greg Gauge but Sam tells me he's not here anymore" Chris said through laughter.

"Go away and be retired old man" Findlay fired back with a smirk across his face.

"With pleasure"

Chris rose to his feet and shook both of our hands. I caught his gaze before he let go of my hand. "What's your thoughts on hanging about and helping the boys?"

"I'm still mulling it over but I'll let you know bud. I'll see you down the road" He let go of my hand and stepped out through the ropes. I quickly grabbed my phone and turned the volume up as loud as it would go so that Springsteen's classic 'Badlands' could be heard in the vicinity. Chris turned backend smiled.

"Your music taste is getting better, Sam" he shouted as he walked through the curtain and headed down the road.

A momentum boosting win over Josh Jacobs 2 weeks ago has put him in a good spot - The Architect has only been pinned once this year which was at the hands of Ernest Youngman at the RCI. Since then he is undefeated in singles action and hasn't been pinned when lost in tag action. - The match was a very competitive and open one with a lot of back-and-forth action and exchanging of holds. The ending came when Cheetah Boy looked to capitalise on an advantage he had and attempted a flying crossbody from the top rope but was caught by his opponent who transitioned and applied The Blueprint, a move which nobody has managed to survive yet and Cheetah Boy wouldn't break that trend. <div style="text-align:center;">The Architect def. The champion was completely on the defence and in protection mode for the first six minutes as Callum got several near falls. Eventually, Callum began to tire slightly from the initial intensive onslaught and it afforded Blaze some time to recuperate and start to fight back. - The fight, and that's what it was, rolled on and became an absolute slug fest with each man seemingly determined to win via knock out as opposed to a pinfall or submission. - The fans were buying into everything that was on offer as the match began to build to it's conclusion and they were hooked on the ongoing events. - The finish came when Bradley Blaze delivered not one, not two but three Dallas Drops to his challenger.
