[hype] Tew 2005

Recommended Posts

<p>Hey everyone, TEW 2005 database conversion is in the works. I'm doing attributes right now and crying my eyes out. Attributes will obviously not be a one for one with the 2020 database, because people change over 14 years (2005 starts in December).</p><p> </p><p>

I've imported the new workers, I've nerfed their popularity (those that would have ring time because they debuted after 2016). I'll alter them on a case by case basis as it makes sense.</p><p> </p><p>

I'll keep plugging away at attributes for awhile, then I'll do a test and make sure everything works correctly, clean it up as needed, then I'll release it for your consumption. By that point, I'll probably have burnt myself out on TEW 2020 and stop playing like I did with TEW 2016.</p><p> </p><p>

Stennick and I have been doing this for the past few games. I hope others have enjoyed it, but 2005 is still the best game world Adam's made. All the bells and whistles since should make it even better!</p><p> </p><p>

Questions, comments, concerns?</p>

I know it's a hard ask, but one thing that I disliked in the 2016 conversion was that most of the workers had the same generic bios they did in 2005. Any chance that they could maybe be fleshed out a bit more wherever possible?

I second this!

Also good luck and thank you! I really love the 05 version. If you could have all the workers up to 2020 debut that would be amazing!

I'll be honest, I turned on Organic Bio for a vast majority of people so the bio should grow over time.

With the number of workers that debut with bios of what they've done, we took all that out and were left with typically vague stuff.

I'm also not going to lie and tell you that I really don't want to do that for nearly 3000 worker records. It'd take me forever. I thought the organic bio would be a compromise that would allow this to get released.

That isn't to say I'm opposed to having fleshed out bios for some of the more important characters, but I would put that at the end of the project, after I know the data works as intended.

I've been working on SWF attributes for the past hour and a half and I'm only on Knuckles. The new system is quite an undertaking.

Question for the peanut gallery:

Would you like to see workers who have had name changes (Wanda Fish -> Belle Bryden for example) with their TEW 2005 name as default, or their TEW 2020 name as default?

I currently have names as they were in 2005. I can change them as I realize them, if that's what the majority prefers.

I would like it so that their default is the 2005 name, but their 2020 name is an alter-ego. For Example, have American Elemental be the default name, but make Americana an alter-ego.

<p>Hello, I've been messing around with the editor to get something like this and it is just so unbelievably daunting for an absolute novice like me. Thank you so much for doing this. </p><p> </p><p>

December 2005 is the start date. Of course, I can't use the demo to test with December, so I have to set the database forward a month to do testing.

BSC doesn't open until February 2006. Don't worry, it'll be there. I also didn't make it clear I would be hitting attributes for most (if not all, I'm a completionist... much to the dismay of my time...)

Oh this sounds like a blast! 2005 is the first time I played the game and I really fell in love with MAW and doing a diary of it. As much as I love the new features of the game as it progresses, I don't really like the CVerse changes after 2013. Will definitely download and play this!
