VCW - Valhalla Championship Wrestling

So I'm going to be joining a 1985 MP game, and we're all making our own feds, but I am also probably going to try running a modern day version of this idea too.

 

But the basic foundation of this federation is Lucha Underground style drama TV show that just happens to use wrestling to resolve conflicts, but it uses Norse Mythology for it's basic theme instead of Latin American folklore/Mexican Lucha.

 

It is called Valhalla Championship Wrestling!

 

 

Basics of the Federation:

 

* Titles are ALWAYS defended where applicable (singles titles always on the lines in singles matches - tag in tag matches).

 

* The Völva are used as Match Makers (these are always women too - this is basically the "Authority" of VCW)

 

* No Weight or Gender division.

 

* Boons can be awarded to fighters in the form of an advantage down the line (ie: helping one of the Völva solve a problem will give them a one-time "Undisqualifiable" bonus, or a "I have to be down for 5 to lose" bonus). These are very rarely handed out though.

 

* Everyone in the company has "Wings" (using the Masks system). Wings can be taken through Wings vs Wings matches. Anyone who doesn't have wings is inelligble for the World title, and must either earn their wings back, or somehow win anothers.

 

* Rankings will be made to determine contenders for major events.

The Mark of Sigrún is basically the Gift of the Gods title from LU. 8 Medallions exist in the Federation, and when someone claims all 8 (simply holding it in your hand is ownership, you don't even have to win/lose them in a match) they must place them in the belt. Once all 8 are in the belt, the title stays with the owner unless they;

 

a) Lose it in a match

b) Cash it in for a Yggdrasil Championship match

c) In the event they have lost their wings, trade it in for new wings

 

Once the Ragnarök passes, all 8 medallions are re-distributed regardless of current owners, so emphasis is on getting them all as soon as the 8th one becomes revealed to beat the clock!

Secretive in nature, and hard to get in the presence of their leaders, The League of Assassins operate outside the authority of the council as guns for hire to the highest bidder. Even when they do finally allow you to meet them, La Sombra and Marty Scurll rarely accept a job unless it somehow benefits them in the future, be it the removal of a rival, or a way to establish more power behind the scenes.

A band of practically lawless individuals whom found one another, the One Winged Angels all have lofty ambitions, and little regard for who gets in the way of them. Often quarrelling amongst themselves as they do with others, they are a dangerous group that only seem to get stronger when challenged by an outsider. Over time Nigel McGuinness has found more influence with Kenny Omega, and as a Colour Commentator, is seen almost as his propaganda machine.

Rarely do they appear altogether at the same time, but when these four battle maidens unite against a common foe, any battle is usually over quickly. Each vies to be seen as the strongest amongst their peers, and their personalities couldn't be further apart when viewed individually, but you attack one, and you may soon find you face all 4. Whilst they are not directly associated with the Council, they have at times been summoned for mutual benefits against potential threats.

That is the one thing I cannot decide.

 

I had toyed with the idea that they all slowly become Nordic with time. So new starters effectively have to earn their way in. But I think it could be too limiting.

 

It will have to have some semblance of "these all belong here" though I reckon

VCW launched their flagship TV Show "Gods of War". A 2 hour glimpse into the Norse world of Professional Combat.</p><p> </p><p>

Our show opened with Eir (Renee Young), Hildr (Trish Stratus) and Sanngriðr (Stephanie McMahon) informing us that the World Title Rankings were now in effect. They also shared that they needed a 4th Council Member, at which point Paige and Thea Trinidad stepped forward as candidates. Trinidad is seen as a hero amongst those not in the major families or war clans of VCW, whilst Paige has been seen as an ever-present opportunist.</p><p> </p><p>

Later in the night, Paige began her Campaign. Recruting Nick Aldis and Adam Cole to her side, so long as they were victorious in their matches that night, to be 2 of her champions, promising them she would remember their deeds for helping her if she gets the spot on the council.</p><p> </p><p>

Following War Machines victory, the Brotherhood known as Fenrir's Teeth revealed themselves by continuing the attack on Gulak and Matthews. </p><p> </p><p>

Following a break, we are shown a scene of Nigel McGuinness sat at a table with five obscured individuals. He shares his concerns that Sami Zayn is a threat in the potential rankings structure, and perhaps he should be dealt with.</p><p> </p><p>

After the conclusion of the Main Event, Thea introduces Paige to three of her team: Kairi Hojo, Io Shirai and Kana!</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

Following the match between The Revolt and Martinez & Baszler, the Lucha Bros viciously attack all 4. Pentagon Jr. breaks Mercedes arm. He grabs a mic to tell VCW that other tag teams are now on notice.</p><p> </p><p>

On his way to the ring, Bray Wyatt crosses paths with Alexa Bliss as she returns up the ramp, where he stares at her with almost soulless eyes...</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

Later in the show we see Alexa Bliss highlight her ambitions to top the rankings and stake her claim as the Goddess of VCW. In the distance, the familiar face of a sullen and bedraggled Bray Wyatt is seen watching her...</p><p> </p><p>

After the Main Event concludes, Fenrir's Teeth again break into a violent assault, this time on Samoa Joe. However WALTER and Roman Reigns, 2 Generals from different clans, descend to help clear them out. </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

Gods of War #5

 

Before the show even begins, we see a glimpse backstage of Alexa and Roderick Strong arguing. We aren't sure what it's about but Strong goes to grab her arm. As soon as his hand is raised the lights cut briefly, and when they come up, Bray Wyatt is between them staring with intense anger at Strong, who backs off. Alexa tries to thank Bray buy he just drops his head and walks away.

 

The first VCW Rankings have been released! And as part of this release, an announcement is made that there will be a Tournament to crown the first Yggdrasil Champion! The brackets have been released as well. Note that due to their involvement in the 5 vs 5 Cage War, Nick Aldis and Adam Cole not been available for entry.

During the reveal of the bracket, Jon Moxley made his arrival! Says he is here to inject a little extra chaos into VCW. Demands he is entered as the 16th man in the tournament. The TBD in the bracket was then decided to be given to the winner of Jon Moxley vs Xavier Woods, meaning that Moxley will face Morrison!

 

Following the release of the Bracket, Omega and End said that they were happy that it was set for them to meet in the final. It would give One Winged Angels a chance to show their dominance and put on a classic Final worthy of the Title. This was of course before Omega's shock defeat... During this segment, Nigel McGuinness made a strange comment about the lack of Sami Zayn being justified due to him no-showing the last few weeks and that he wouldn't threaten anyone anyway...

 

 

After The Four Horsewoman match, Steen tears towards McGuinness and drags him away, shouting that "You will tell me where he is!" Before he is able to get him out, members of One Winged Angels help free McGuinness.

 

The Young Bucks address The Lucha Bros. Say that if they want a fight, then they are there to take on the challenge.

 

Following the Main Event, Roman Reigns says he will see PAC down the line, and that he will stop at nothing to ensure that he never holds Yggdrasil.

Prior to the show, Steen manages to grab McGuinness! He drags him into a room!

 

The Lucha Bros accept the Young Bucks challenge. They will face in a Tornado Tag at Orrosta!

 

Yet again Alexa finds herself on the end of unwanted Male attention. This time Sammy Guevara pesters her, which see's Bray Wyatt come from nowhere and drive his head into the Wall. Alexa seems terrified of this "Guardian Angel" and asks Bray why he is always there? Bray leaves before she gets an answer.

 

PAC directly assaults a VCW General. Surely no way this goes unpunished! Roman is out of the tournament as a result of PAC's interference!

 

 

Steen storms the Ring. Says McGuinness confessed to everything! He wanted Zayn out of the picture to ensure his top two guys were guaranteed to be considered for the tournament. He calls out Marty Scurll and La Sombra as the leaders of League of Assassins!!! Scurll appears at the top of the ramp and laughs him off...

 

After the show, Lethal shares his disappointment in not getting the chance to showcase himself more to be considered higher iin the rankings. Warhorse is passing by and mutters "because no-one wants to see you..." triggering a shoving contest.

Eir warns Paige she must not show favouritism to her team if she is victorious. It would throw the neutrality of the council into question if she did. Thea uses this chance to introduce El Hijo del Fantasma and Brian Cage - the only member of VCW without wings - as her 2 additional fighters!

 

Kofi Kingston wants to rematch with Bayley at Orrosta, she accepts!

 

We later cut to a scene of Ospreay, Priestly and Ultimo Ninja laid out in the meeting room McGuinness was once seen. Steen calls out Scurll to face him at Orrosta and he wants Zayn back!

 

Devitt turns on AJ Styles in their tag team match and leaves him alone to take a pin!

 

A huge Brawl breaks out between Fenrir's Teeth and Clan Anoa'i! Alexa is caught in the crossfire and Bray comes to her rescue and carries her to safety! Roman pays back PAC for screwing him in the Tournament as Alexa advances to the Semi-Finals!

After weeks of searching, Kevin Steen finally gets what he wants; Scurll will bring Zayn to Orrosta in a match to release him, or have him join them forever.

VCW Orrosta I

 

After victory in the two opening matches; the Yggdrasil Championship Final match was set as Tyler Bate vs Daniel Bryan! After the conclusion of their own match, the two shook hands. This will clearly be a long rivalry but for now the first ever Champion in VCW is Daniel Bryan!

 

Paige wins and joins the council, where she takes on the name of Kára. Her first action as a member of the coucil; Banish Thea Trinidad from VCW! The other council members are shocked by her decision but to show unity, accept the decision.

 

After two long months of searching for him, Steen is re-united with Sami Zayn. La Sombra watches on as Steen helps his friend free of his bindings.

 

Bray finally gives Alexa some form of answer as to why he has defended her so strongly lately: "You remind me of her..."

 

Yet again, PAC costs Roman a victory!

Due to a Major spinal injury suffered at VCW Orrosta, Pentagon Jr. was immediately rushed to hospital for emergency surgery. We are happy to report the surgery was a success, and that Pentagon Jr. is now expected to be out for 3 months.

 

At this time VCW wishes Pentagon Jr. all the best in his recovery, and we look forward to seeing him return when he is ready.

Following their victory over War Machine, The Young Bucks are challenged by Mousatche Mountain. They want to prove themselves as the dominant tag team in VCW, and Tyler Bate is keen to get over his loss in the Ygdrassil Final. They will face off next week!

 

Kára promises her team from Orrosta will be granted the first title shots at Daniel Bryan as reward getting her the seat on the council. The other council members inform her things aren't handed out for free, but they will allow three of them to face each other to determine a challenger. Theory vs Aldis vs Cole are tonights main event!

 

In a bar outside the venue, Sami thanks Kevin for not giving up on him. He vows to take revenge on League of Assassins and find out who hired them.

 

Following her victory, Bray leaves a doll that looks like Alexa in the ring for her to take. Bray seems almost childlike when she takes it, and sulks away.

 

After his main event victory, Austin Theory will face Daniel Bryan next week for the title!

After Mousatche Mountain wins against the Young Bucks, it's their turn to be challenged by Toni Storm and Tommy End!

 

After the carnage of their match (a draw due to referee stoppage after both men hurl each other through a wall into a storage room), Galloway and Nakamura both have to be dragged from the rubble and debris and taken for medical treatment!

 

Bray Wyatt absolutely devastates EC3 before Alexa puts a stop to it. She asks about the doll and it's meaning. Bray says that in a former life they ruled together, and he is beginning to remember everything, and wants her to do the same.
