I’m here for Byron lol. I love what you’ve done with him and sadly it fits the image of him I had in my mind.

Since I've got some spare time, and Byron has gotten so much positive feedback I figured I'd OOC post about the creation of him.

When I created Byron in my head, the obvious comp is Fabio, but Byron is a worked-shoot Fabio(He's white and British) so you can naturally make it even more ridiculous. And how do you make a guy like Fabio, a ridiculous euro-trash concept from a bygone era of feminine sexual idealism used to sell magazines and penny romance novels to middle-aged housewives who need a substanceless void to mentally grind against? Well, I've always wanted to make a character styled after Johnny Bravo, a Cartoon Network cartoon from like 20 years ago(Youtube it, they have a bunch of 15min episodes up) that I grew up with featuring a dimwitted meathead who desperately tries to get laid while being an obvious Elvis ripoff and living with his mama. The comedy is all built around juxtaposition and soap opera era female expectations. They all take advantage of him, use him, discard him, he never gets anywhere, and he's a goldfish so he keeps trying. This seemed like a natural fit with his Egomaniacal tendencies and the fact he's in his 40s now, has been wrestling for almost 25 years and yet hasn't risen above 50 pop despite toxic Perma pushes and a product custom-built for him in a region that has strong wrestling roots and virtually no competition.

This entire diary is built on his back, and to a lesser(but growing) extent Bret, as well as the relationship he has with his staff, and how his dreams and goals meet with the reality of time. So I don't want to give too much away, but there is more to Byron than you've seen so far, and I'm looking forward to fleshing out the character and starting the overarching storylines I have planned for him.

Keep it up, this is the only dynasty that made me laugh out loud :D

I'm working on the write up for March Toward Victory right now, but I wanted to poll you guys because I forgot that I set Wrestleworld: Europe to launch in April.

The question I'm wrestling with is weekly or no weekly? I know Byron would want to get on TV, but I'm really digging the easy workload right now, and going from 16 to 68 shows a year right now is probably too much for me. Writeups take me a few hours each, that's hundreds of hours for each game year on top of the 20mins each for the story stuff. Which is a lot of work for me, and has burned me out every time I've tried to do it. So, I have a few ideas, and I want your opinion, oh dear readers.

1. I go weekly, I run 52 hour long "TV" cards, I keep them short and sweet, a sentence or two match reports, We highlight the angles and any match that has an important story for the ODE on Wrestleworld. I do the nitty-gritty on the dark portion of those shows(This is what I normally do only shorter and very likely minimalistic graphics) Advantage here is, we get to savor Byron longer. The disadvantage here: Benjamin Franklin's definition of insanity.

2. I go bi-weekly. All the same events, but with one "On the Road/In Your House" style show where I book slightly weaker cards with important MEs. Nothing changes, you get write-ups, same as now. Time just passes half as fast, and tentpole shows get further away. Right now I'm on pace for about a month a week for context. Keep this going for a year IRL, that's about the end of the planned arc for Byron.

3. I do tv in-game. But I essentially do a Mid-South style highlight show for the final writeups. You get a few of the surprise matches and all of the important angles. Presented to you by a host once a month. (Possibly Byron, maybe somebody else) The advantage here is more raw TV hours for guys to develop. The downside would be losing career following potential as people would just kinda pop up and disappear possibly never to be seen until I release them.

4. 16 shows a year is just fine with you guys. Don't bite off more than I can chew. Medium forever is a-okay with you guys, Advantage, more Out of Ring stuff. Disadvantage: Eventually VWA and UEW pass me(they're cranking out 50-60 rated cards as we speak, only a matter of time unless they run out of money which doesn't seem likely, and all my talent leaves for 21CW, eventually.

Opinions appreciated.

Bi-weekly seems like the choice with the most upside if you ask me. What would the PPV/special event program be, tho? I'd suggest 2 or 3 specials a year

The current event lineup is as follows

New Year Smash - Jan

Madness in Munich - Battle Royale - Feb

March Toward Victory - March

Berlin Brawl - All Gimmick Matches - April

Freakshow - Gimmick Show - May

Firepower - Jun

The All-Star Bash - July - Season Finale

All-Out Riot - August

Oktoberfest Clash Day 1-2-3, Possible Weekend Tournament, September

Redemption - October

Retribution - November

The All-Star's Carnival, Annual Celebration Show - November

Winter Warland - December

The Nightmare Before Christmas - December

16 shows slated at the moment.

I'd keep All Star Bash and All Star's Carnival. Still do a battle royal in february and all gimmick matches in the 2 april shows.

The crowd is bored out of its mind the referee takes his three-headed flail giving Witch Doctor time to go to his belt and throw strange green powder in Semper's face. Milo swallows hard, and then gets absolutely taken to the whooping house, 100-0 for 4 minutes straight, until Milo begs Bret to stop on his knees. Bret milks it until he takes his hand pulls him straight up into the Heart Attack for the 1-2-3! at 5:35. Bret hotdogs and grandstands for an iceage. The match starts off with Drama pearl harboring Wilson and taking the early heat. Double ax-handles knees in the corner, a choke spot that gets referee Patrick Garrett to give him the 4 count. Dylan is a rough diamond but there's something intangible about him. A great athlete he springboards off the middle rope into a crossbody and gets a two-count. He jaw jacks with the ref and pie faces him which gets a rise out of the crowd. Drama dares him to DQ him, but Garrett backs down when he sees Stuart catch him with a rollup. 1-2, kick out. They seem very confident, as they hit the ring. Out next is the Dublin Gals, and they're back to their normal entrance. Blair fire and flight, Cassie class and sophistication. Cassie and Blair take an extra-long look at the belts, before handing them off to the referee.

The match opens with Cassie taking the middle and locking up with Aud. Aud easily rushes her into her own corner and crashes down a palm slap across her exposed chest that leaves an immediate welt that causes her to wilt into the corner. Blair gets in Aud's face but she's dropped dead to the floor with a stiff punch. The match goes this way for the better part of the first half of the match. Cassie is drug into the 2 Legit corner and despite her best efforts to hit toe holds, and find anything to change the momentum, but for the most part, she meets boots and laughter. the younger clientele fire up when Aud makes the tag and Karen shuts that down with a monstrous powerbomb. Blair's inexperience gets the better of her and she tries to climb in to help but this only leads to both Aud and Karen working her over 2-on-1. Karen does her 10 presses on Cassie and she covers her for what looks like a sure 3 but instead, she tags in Aud and motions for the throat cut. The crowd is terrified that the Dublin Gals are about to be snuffed out at the first time of asking when Aud glides to the second rope holds out her fist as Karen drags the lifeless carcass of Cassie into position for her finish. Cassie is able to block the attempt, however, and duck just-in-time for Aud to crash her fist into Karen's midsection. With Aud looking horrified Cassie uses what' she's got left to dive to the far corner like a jackrabbit in the teeth of a fox and tag in Blair to a decent size pop. He's young, athletic, intense, and he does a great job using his athletism to feed Kruge's comeback with a long, intense series of basic power slams, ax handles and clubbing forearms. Eventually, though, all good things must come to an end as out come Herc and Bam Bam to chuck out Drebin and 2-on-1 Kruge. But Kruge starts no-selling them both! Rising to his feet, powering up his Revengance meter, and fights them both off to stand tall. The referee calls for the bell at 8:53. That face though has a very mean sounding string of Japanese coming from it as admonishes the fans in a language they can't understand. The match starts fast and furious, with both girls trading strikes, until Yu makes Thea wilt into the corner until she's able to counter and switch the smaller Yu and slam shoulders into her stomach to take some of the wind out of her sails. The match continues in this vein, Thea looking to not back down from the smaller girl, but having a hard time surviving exchanges. Soon, Thea changes tact and begins attacking Yu's right arm. Which begins to take away Yu's most effective threat. Eventually, the match pushes past 10 minutes.

Something pops the crowd like Byron, and it's not him. Both performers look up the ramp and the hard camera pans and zooms to see. Who's that? It can't be? Dark hair, black lipstick wifebeater, baggy cargo pants that might as well be a skirt? How did she get here? As the crowd processes what's happening Yu tries to hit "The Endgame" but she grabs her arm and collapses with a loud roar of pain halfway through the turn, which brings the attention back to the ring. Thea seizes the moment and catches Yu as she tries to climb back to her feet with a diving bulldog and climbs to the top rope.

Finally it's time for the Main Event. Eva brings out her lieges, Flanked by Kolassal Karl. The Masters of Evil make their way ringside as Eva tells the camera that tonight, Paolo is going to get a sneak preview of what is his fate at The All-Star Bash! Out next, to a massive shriek, Byron and Gandalfini... come out, they both flex together in unison and the girls reach out to drink in their combined essence. Marianne comes out a bit later, but something seems off about her tonight.

As the hunk-o-meter swells in the ring, the match gets underway with Paolo standing across from Crusher, but Eva leaps to the apron and demands he tag in Kronos. After a loud chorus of boos he complies. And the match gets underway. Paolo takes early control in a glacier paced test of strength. Before Kronos cheats with a headbutt to the groin. After softening up Paolo for a few minutes he tags in Crusher who takes him apart with a series of crisp submission holds, and bearhug spots. The crowd goes wild when Paolo makes the tag, but referee Dwayne Hewitt immediately calls Byron back to the corner as he says the tag wasn't legal. This gets heat from the crowd as Byron's grandstanding and hotdogging gets Paolo double-teamed. Eventually, Crush tags back in Kronos, who lets Paolo escape his grasp long enough to make an emphatic hot tag.

Byron runs wild, Irish whip, into a pose, then a spin that forces Kronos to hit the other side into another pose, Kronos attempts to clothesline Byron but he senses it coming and ducks. This continues until Kronos collapses unable to run anymore. Crusher hits the ring and Byron ducks but he slams into Paolo and he goes careening into the announce table.

As Byron duels with Crusher, the camera watches as Eva Berlin beats Paolo with her whip like a slowing mule until Marianne comes around and shoves Berlin off her man, but Karl is there and he irish whips her into the ring post! Nuclear heat. She comes up with a stream of blood from just about the hairline and Eva and Karl make Paolo look at the damage. Paolo hulks up in fury and takes Karl to the woodshed. Before Kronos drops down to stack the deck. Inside the ring, Byron is seeing what's happening and the whole match descends into chaos. Paolo winds up in the ring with Crusher, who locks him in the Mind Crusher! Marieanne hits the ring to impotently try and pry him off covered in her own blood. Crusher breaks the hold to grab her and lick the blood off her cheek. Kronos tags himself in and Crusher takes Marianne by the wrist and slings her over the shoulder as her man lays motionless on the floor, convulsing from the effects of the Mind Crusher. Byron hits the ring as Kronos tries to figure out what the hell is going on and he's hit with the Upper Class and pinned at 15:52. Eva and Karl roll out Kronos' carcass and revive him to flee. Crusher takes his new prize over his shoulder and Byron tries to revive Paolo and tell him what happened.

She screams for help, Paolo scrambles to his feet but is in no condition to do anything and Byron has to keep him from spilling into the crowd. As it looks like the heels take the day, Bret Heartbreak storms out from the back. EuroSport Mag was on the table with a picture of the EU flag on fire and the cover read, "Wrestling Filth Must Be Banished!" Arson Wells sits next to Bret and Marianne. "What 're ya so upset 'but?" he removes the cigar from his mouth to shrug off the headline. "This innit the best pub we've got in, a decade! Bret shuffled awkwardly in his chair "I still think you look pretty." He forced out, which got a little wink from her. Byron ran his hands through his hair to comfort himself. Again and again, "ARSON, I, BYRON TOLD YOU NOT TO DO THE FLAG BURNING SPOT BUT TO DO THE POSTER BURNING SPOT!" He paces back and forth. "NOW MY ADORATION AND FEMALE LUST HAS DRIED IN THE FLAMES OF FURY AND NOT PASSION!" Byron began lemaz breathing to soothe himself. But his last run through his hair rending a shocking amount of his blonde hair... With saucers for eyes, he lets out a piercing girlish shriek. Followed by another, and another.

"I AM RUINED!" tears pour down his face, aided by the oil resistance "MY PERFECT Hair! THIS CAN'T BE! He stares at the strands of hair and gives another shriek. Bret leaps out of his chair consoling his father, "Father, you are not balding, you are just thinning a bit." This triggers another series of horrified shrieks. "Balding?" He whimpers. All thoughts of blood and anger were mere afterthoughts to the reality of his bleached scalp shedding hair. He maniacally rummages through his desk, an unfathomable amount of creams, bronzers, and oils scattering through the air. "WHERE IS IT, MY ONLY SALVATION NOW!" He fumbles until he finds it. THICC-GROW-XXX emblazoned on the jar with a picture of a medical drawing of a large penis impressing a lady. He smears half the jar in his fist and rubs it voraciously into his scalp. "COMEBACK TO ME OH BEAUTIFUL YOUTH!" Bret helps him get the rest of his head as Arson and Marianne slink out.

"Do not worry father, I will help you make a wig" Bret's words leave Byron inconsolable, and sobbing, as he crams his fist into the jar once more.

Excerpt: The Pro Wrestling Reporter, April 4th, 2020

EWA

Word from last month's show (March Toward Victory) is that Raven Nightfall(Robinson) made her debut up there. I find it hard to believe considering she's arguably a bigger star than Byron, and isn't a leathery muscle diva. They've been building an oddly competent women's roster for the last few years which has really helped the reachability and sustainability of their shows lately, so it's possible. I asked around and she left USPW last month when they let her go after that bizarre DQ in February. She hasn't been working much and was said to be looking for an events based schedule with a manager role for TV similar to Eddie Peak in TCW. Nobody was interested in that idea as they don't like managers right now and she was released with Dusty as I said in the USPW brief.

In other news, they got some real mainstream heat, for a flag-burning angle and EU representatives were not happy about it. Because the show was not aired live though, and it is only a small social media story right now, there's not much they can do about it unless they ban wrestling entirely, and 21CW would fight them hard on it. Likely they dodged a huge bullet here. There was some uproar about a Marianne blood licking spot that I haven't seen yet because they don't release event DVDs until 3-4mos after events and then they're only in PAL format which is... less than ideal. Whatever the case Byron has always been a wack-job on the best of days, I still remember the urine race thing he had the midgets do for Freakshow a few years ago. He's a character. There are also some sources that tell me that they're upset about VWA breaking their talent agreement not long ago. If that's true, with the way Landon has been burning it down lately, there could be a European wrestling war brewing.
