• The camera is on Francine in the opening promo to begin the event. She talks about tonight’s Three Way Dance for the number one contendership to the ECW World Heavyweight title and the mystery man in the match.</p><p> </p><p>

Francine: “Tommy Dreamer, Brian Lee… someone you both know well is really looking forward to kicking your asses.” <font color="#9912A2"><strong>C-</strong></font></p><p> </p><p>

• York and Matthews beat Da Baldies (DeVito and Grimes) with a Rebel Yell as Matthews pins Grimes. <font color="#9912A2"><strong>D-</strong></font></p><p> </p><p>

• George is out and she’s complaining that her boys are having to defend their ECW World Tag Team titles in a three way ladder match. She is screeching a lot but then smiles sweetly at Hot Commodity when they look a little worried for her. <font color="#9912A2"><strong>D</strong></font></p><p> </p><p>

• Nova pins Tony Mamaluke in a short match after a Novacaine. Nova hits a string of inventive cool-looking moves that wow the ECW fans.</p><p> </p><p>

Joey Styles: “Expect to see those turn up next Monday and Thursday night.” <font color="#9912A2"><strong>D+</strong></font></p><p> </p><p>

• Dawn Marie is boasting about her team’s chances in the upcoming ladder match for the Tag titles. All three of Dawn, Simon and Swinger look extremely smug.</p><p> </p><p>

Dawn Marie: “It’s in the bag, baby… wait, am I on tv?? Ooooh, hi mom!” <font color="#9912A2"><strong>D-</strong></font></p><p> </p><p>

• ECW World Tag Team Championship – Ladder match</p><p>

Hot Commodity (EZ Money and Julio Dinero, w/ George) beat Simon and Swinger (w/ Dawn Marie) and Hardcore Chair Swingin’ Freaks (Balls Mahoney and Axl Rotten) in a three way match to retain the Tag Team titles.</p><p> </p><p>

Joey Styles: “Balls and Axl brought the violence, Simon and Swinger brought the guile, but it’s EZ Money with the titles in his hands and another hard fought victory for Hot Commodity.” <font color="#9912A2"><strong>D</strong></font></p><p> </p><p>

• Number One Contenders match for the ECW World Heavyweight Championship</p><p>

Tommy Dreamer vs Brian Lee (w/ Dawn Marie) vs ??? </p><p> </p><p>

Joey Styles: “Dreamer and Lee in the ring, beating the crap out of each other. But where’s the third man? Where’s their mystery opponent?”</p><p> </p><p>

Tommy Dreamer evades a Lee Chokeslam attempt and counters with the Dreamer DDT. The referee is in place and counts one… two… thr- A man in a mask dressed all in black slides into the ring and breaks the pin. All three men brawl and several near falls follow. Lee again goes for the Chokeslam but Dreamer breaks it and hits the Dreamer Driver. Dreamer goes for the cover but the masked man catches him with a boot and hits a DDT of his own.</p><p> </p><p>

Joey Styles: “Dreamer down! Referee with the count… one... two… three! He got him! But who is under the mask?!” <font color="#9912A2"><strong>D</strong></font></p><p> </p><p>

• Francine climbs into the ring and slowly removes the mask of the mystery man.</p><p> </p><p>

Joey Styles: “Oh my God! That’s Shane Douglas! That’s ‘The Franchise!’ That’s… oh my God! We have a new number one contender and it’s… Shane Douglas?!” <font color="#9912A2"><strong>C-</strong></font></p><p> </p><p>

• Steve Corino defeats The Sandman in a bloody brawl after catching him with a low blow, a Superkick and an Old School Expulsion. Corino is victorious but he looks like he barely escaped with his life. <font color="#9912A2"><strong>C</strong></font></p><p> </p><p>

• ECW World Heavyweight Championship – I Quit Match</p><p>

Mikey Whipwreck vs Bam Bam Bigelow (w/Francine)</p><p> </p><p>

Joey Styles: “Mikey stay down! Please, stay down!”</p><p> </p><p>

Much like their previous two matches, Bam Bam uses his significant size advantage to beat Whipwreck to a pulp. Heavy clubbing blows, huge power moves and Bigelow yelling at Mikey to stay down. Each time Mikey claws his way up by the ring ropes and is met with another vicious strike from ‘The Beast From The East’ crumpling him into the mat. Finally Bigleow sits on Mikey and holds him in a Single Leg Crab.</p><p> </p><p>

Joey Styles: “Bam Bam likes this move. He used it to great effect against Lawrence Taylor in a match he’d rather forget. Mikey’s screaming but he tells referee John Finegan he’s not prepared to quit!”</p><p> </p><p>

Whipwreck refuses to quit and Bigelow returns to flattening him with heavy punches. A huge clothesline turns Mikey inside out. Bigelow is telling Mikey to get up, winding up his arm signalling for another hellacious lariat. Bam Bam charges but Mikey drops down and pulls down on the top rope sending Bigelow to the outside and face first through the ring announcers table.</p><p> </p><p>

Joey Styles: “Bigelow is up! He’s getting back in the ring! He damn near killed our ring announcer and we heard his head ring the time keeper’s bell but he’s back in the ring! Bigelow is swinging rights and lefts at Mikey but he’s on wobbly legs. He doesn’t know where he is... Mikey Whipwreck with the sleeper hold! Mikey’s got a sleeper!”</p><p> </p><p>

Whipwreck climbs up and holds on for dear life against the dazed, bucking Bigelow. Slowly the lights go out… Bam Bam drops to a knee… and then keels forward. The referee checks and Bigelow is out!</p><p> </p><p>

Joey Styles: “Mikey Whipwreck has done it! He has done it! Mikey has defeated Bam Bam Bigelow!” <font color="#9912A2"><strong>C-</strong></font></p><p> </p><p>

• ECW World Television Championship</p><p>

TAKA Michinoku defeated Kid Kash to retain the TV title. Kash came close on a couple of attempts but TAKA was able to kick out. In a now familiar scene, after an intense back and forth match of spectacular wrestling TAKA hit the Michinoku Driver II for the win. <font color="#9912A2"><strong>C</strong></font></p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<p>Another great show my man!</p><p> </p><p>

Really dig how you're building the lower midcard with the tag straps, I see so much potential as characters for the Simons/Swinger/Dawn Marie trio!</p><p> </p><p>

Really didn't see the Franchise returning, but should have seen it coming with Francine hyping it up. Really looking forward Douglas v. Whipwreck for the title !</p><p> </p><p>

Speaking of Mikey, the title match was really beliveable and good, our plucky underdog submitted Bam Bam !! Greay showing for him but i don't know if he'll be able to defeat Douglas in the long run</p><p> </p><p>

You rulz!</p>

<p>Shane Douglas was a pleasant surprise! I've always been a big fan and obviously his history with ECW is instrumental to their success.</p><p> </p><p>

I cannot believe Mikey went over! Having Bam Bam pass out was a way to get him to not quit, but if I was a fan in the arena or watching at home I think I'd be a bit let down about no one actually quitting, since that was the entire draw of the match. Just a nitpick though, and I trust that you have a very good reason for that finish <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

Again the TV title main events! ECW is showcasing the workrate guys STRONG right now, with TAKA main eventing over the blood feud of Mikey and Bam Bam. I'd be completely okay with that though! If TAKA and Kid Kash had a crazy fast paced match, following that up with a wild brawl would cause the I Quit match to suffer, so I like that decision.</p><p> </p><p>

Overall, another enjoyable show. I usually wouldn't say this for most diaries, but I do enjoy the minimalistic approach ( mainly because we know what the aesthetic of the show would look like and we know how the talent look, which isn't the case for CVerse). And you can probably bang out a few shows in an hour or so, which is something I envy so badly <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

Hello everyone and welcome to another edition of The Styles Report with me Joey Styles. I don’t know about you but I am still in shock, Mikey Whipwreck choked out Bam Bam Bigelow!! Though this title match was billed as an I Quit match, with Bigelow unable to respond referee John Finegan had no choice but to award it to Mikey. Bam Bam is said to have left the building without speaking a word to anyone. ECW management have been quick to stress that he is not fired but also that he has so far not returned any of their calls.</p><p> </p><p>

Shane Douglas also caused a shock at Refuse To Lose as he was revealed to be the mystery third man in the fight for the number one contendership to the ECW World Heavyweight title. That match is booked for November To Remember but first, at our next event Fight Night, The Franchise will square off against an old rival… none other than The Sandman.</p><p> </p><p>

There has been rumours within ECW that Kid Kash has become difficult to be around ever since he lost the ECW Television title. Some have said they have noticed a definite change in attitude from the former champ. Kash is not scheduled to appear at Fight Night.</p><p> </p><p>

And the main event will be TAKA Michinoku, the man who defeated Kash, defending his Television title against Nova.</p><p> </p><p>

That’s ECW Fight Night, October 26 at the TD Banks Sports Center in Hamden, Conneticut. Get your tickets from the ECW website – extremechampionshipwrestling.com - or our ticket hotline. Do not miss this one!</p><p> </p><p>

I think you have nailed it with Joey Styles, I can hear his voice in my head when I'm reading this diary, which is so important. The magazines also reflect ECW's DIY style and production costs :p

Huge respect, will try to comment more regularly

EDIT: oh hey page 10. Sorry to be the one to post here first :p
