<p>Full card for BJW/ZERO1/2AW on 8/11!</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="0bgZsHp.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/0bgZsHp.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

The full card for the <strong><span style="color:#FF4500;">BJW</span></strong><strong>/</strong><strong><span style="color:#FF0000;">ZERO1</span></strong><strong>/2AW "3 Groups Joint Performance ~ Tokyo Delta"</strong> show on 8/11/20 has been announced. In a very special main event, BJW World Strong Heavyweight Champion Daichi Hashimoto will attempt to make the 5th defense of his title reign against none other than ZERO1 legend Shinjiro Otani.</p><p> </p><p>

Otani and Hashimoto have a long and emotional history, as Otani has been the longtime figurehead of ZERO1, the company founded by Daichi Hashimoto's late father, Shinya Hashimoto. It was Otani himself (alongside Masahiro Chono) who encouraged Daichi to enter the sport after his father's death, and trained him to become a professional wrestler. Daichi began in ZERO1 in 2011, only signing with BJW five years ago. </p><p> </p><p>

Otani's last singles match with Daichi Hashimoto was a thrilling thirty minute time limit draw at a ZERO1 show in October 2019. Otani recently petitioned BJW officials for a shot at the BJW World Strong Heavyweight Title, citing this time limit draw as a major factor. Otani is a legend in his own right, as he is a former ZERO1 World Heavyweight Champion, IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champion, a two-time winner of the J-Crown and a <strong>six-time</strong> NWA Intercontinental Tag Team Champion. This is sure to be a test for Daichi Hashimoto, whose father will surely be looking on during this match.</p><p>

Outside of a minor 19-day run with the Yokohama Shopping Street Six Man Tag Team Titles, this is Nomura's only other title in BJW, which is surprising for the "super rookie". The hard-hitting style of Nomura and Abe proved to be an even match for Sekimoto and Sato, but it was Nomura's technical skill that prevailed as he made Sato submit to a vicious cross armbreaker. BJW "Pro-Wrestling Is Coming to Ishikawa ~ Ishikawa J-WINGS2" results!

0bgZsHp.png

BJW put on a small show at the Ishikawa City Bunka Center last night, and while there was nothing too special on the card, the main event between Okami and the team of Yuji Okabayashi and Yasufumi Nakanoue is a must-see and one of the top BJW matches of the summer. A nice win for Daichi Hashimoto over another top heavyweight keeps him in the spotlight.

With <strong><span style="color:#FF4500;">BJW Last Buntai</span></strong> approaching soon, the cards for the final two nights of wrestling at the Yokohama Bunka Gymnasium are sure to be released soon. A historic BJW venue, the Yokohama Bunka is being torn down and a new arena is being built in its place. BJW ran a small show last night out of the much smaller Yokohama Radiant Hall, but there were some huge ramifications as fan favorite Ryota Hama issued a challenge to Daichi Hashimoto for Last Buntai after scoring a huge pinfall victory over Daisuke Sekimoto in the semi-main event. We can expect to see Hashimoto vs. Hama for the BJW World Strong Heavyweight Title at <strong><span style="color:#FF4500;">Last Buntai Night 1</span></strong>!</p><p>

A long-standing BJW tradition is the incredibly fun and yet incredibly bizarre <a href="http://www.imaintainthedoublefootstompissilly.com/25-matches-that-defined-2016-15/" rel="external nofollow">Poseidon Adventure Splash Match</a>, which usually features a remarkable amount of water thrown on the fans by the Brahman Brothers, Yuji Okabayashi turning into Poseidon, and general mayhem. This year, while we saw less water thrown on the fans and much more thrown in the ring, the match was still absolute chaos and only ended when <del>Yuji</del> Posedion Okabayashi used the Ocean Drop Brainbuster on Banana Senga. Also of note was a one-off appearance for local Osaka talent Mineo Fujita, a longtime freelancer who has made a few sporadic BJW appearances in the past.</p><p>

The Ueno Pro-Wrestling Festival came to an end with BJW World Strong Heavyweight Champion Daichi Hashimoto standing tall as he and his partner Hideyoshi Kamitani won the Two Day Tag Tournament and will challenge Astronauts for the BJW Tag Team Title on Night 2 of BJW Last Buntai! This is a huge match and could possibly see Daichi Hashimoto become simultaneous BJW World Strong Heavyweight and Tag Team Champion. With this match set, the cards for both nights of Last Buntai are finalized and will be released in full very shortly.</p><p>

I've been really enjoying this diary! Two very enjoyable cards you've put together here. I hope Hashimoto vs. Hama also happens at the August 29 show. I was amazed when I read the August 30 card today - Tatsumi Fujinami and Tetsuya Endo in particular!

BJW began their farewell to Yokohama Bunka Gymnasium with their first of two shows this weekend. In unfortunate news, two minor injuries were sustained and the cards for Last Buntai Night 2 have been adjusted.

Ryota Hama suffered a pectoral injury in his loss to BJW World Strong Heavyweight Champion Daichi Hashimoto and will be off the 8/30 show. He is being replaced by Quiet Storm in the Strong BJ Wild Melee Six Man Tag Team Match.

"Black Angel" Jaki Numazawa suffered a sprained ankle and will also be unable to wrestle on 8/30. The 333 Fluorescent Lighttubes 3-Way Deathmatch will still take place, as Yuki Ishikawa will take his place.

Also, since Muno Taiyo (Sasuke and the Brahmans) won the Yokohama Shopping Street Six Man Tag Team Title, the six man tag between them and #StrongHearts scheduled for 8/30 will now also be for the Yokohama Shopping Street Title.

0. Hideyoshi Kamitani, Yuichi Taniguchi & Masaki Morihiro defeated Yasufumi Nakanoue, Banana Senga & Tsutomu Oosgui (7:51) when Kamitani used a Backdrop Suplex on Oosugi. 35

The standard dark match opener with a mix of some comedy and some strong style. Kamitani stays protected with the win.

1. Takuya Nomura, Fuminori Abe XTOP0Rw.jpg, Yuya Aoki & Kazuki Hashimoto defeated Ryuichi Kawakami, Kazumi Kikuta, Kota Sekifuda & Tatsuhiko Yoshino (9:41) when Abe used an Octopus Hold on Sekifuda. 46

Quality eight man tag here with Astronauts getting a nice win in the lead-in to their Tag Title match tomorrow.

2. Yokohama Shopping Street Six Man Tag Team Title: The Great Sasuke FuQeLlM.jpg, Brahman Kei & Brahman Shu defeated Akira Hyodo, Daisuke Sekimoto & Takuho Kato © (12:12) when Sasuke used the Sasuke Special X Version 10.2 on Kato (failed 6th defense -> 39th champions). 54

Quite the wild match here. While Sekimoto is known for being a no-nonsense monster, it is often forgotten how often he mixes it up with outlandish comedy antics and that was certainly what happened here. Sekimoto and his trainees had a decent run with the belts, but the Muno Taiyo trio was too much for them on this night.

3. BJW Jr. Heavyweight Title Next Challenger Tournament - Final ~ 666 Battle: Koju Takeda defeated Shinobu (12:52) with a German Suplex Hold. 35

Student defeats master in the finals of the Next Challenger Tournament. Not a particularly well-received match as the fans are still getting used to Takeda, but he is growing in popularity and his "heart throb" gimmick is helping him get over as well. Takeda will have the biggest match of his career tomorrow night against Yuya Aoki for the Jr. Heavyweight Title.

4. Fluorescent Lighttubes Deathmatch: Masashi Takeda, Takumi Tsukamoto XTOP0Rw.jpg, Masaya Takahashi & Kankuro Hoshino defeated Abdullah Kobayashi, Drew Parker, Isami Kodaka XTOP0Rw.jpg & Yuko Miyamoto (13:12) when Takeda used the U-Crash on Parker. 55

Very good deathmatch. Takeda and Parker had a great Yakitori Stick Deathmatch back in July and this had some great sequences between them as well. Good, bloody fun all around.

5. Strong BJ vs. ZERO1 ~ Special Yuji Singles Match: Yuji Okabayashi defeated Yuji Hino jP3u4Fg.jpg(19:33) with an Argentine Backbreaker. 61

A damn good strong style match. Hino always looks at home in BJW Strong Division matches, and Okabayashi is the obvious torchbearer along with Sekimoto. Both guys came out of this looking like monsters and we are certainly going to keep seeing more of Hino in BJW if he puts on matches like this.

6. 045 Evil Monkeys vs. BJW Future Death ~ Fluorescent Lighttubes, Barbed Wire Board & Weapon Bringing Deathmatch: Jun Kasai 4BKJio9.jpg & "Black Angel" Jaki Numazawa defeated Toshiyuki Sakuda & Yuki Ishikawa (13:04) when Kasai used the Pearl Harbor Splash on Sakuda. 53

Fun match. There is undeniably a rivalry brewing between Sakuda and Kasai, as there have been matches taking place in FREEDOMS, GCW and BJW with them either squaring off or teaming up. You can see that Kasai sees a lot of himself in Sakuda, and Sakuda in many ways could be the next generation's Jun Kasai - an absolute psychopath willing to harm himself in order to win. I highly doubt this is the last we see of this rivalry in BJW.

7. BJW World Strong Heavyweight Title: Daichi Hashimoto © defeated Ryota Hama (15:10) with the Rising DDT (6th defense). 47

Solid match but not even the best Strong Division singles match of the night. Hama's injury hampered him a bit as he's been dealing with it for the last week or so and had to power through it for a chance at Hashimoto's strap. With his 6th defense, Hashimoto now has the 2nd most successful reign of all time, with only Daisuke Sekimoto's 10 defense reign in 2013-2014 beating his. Hashimoto could very well break that record if he keeps it up at this rate.

8. BJW Deathmatch Heavyweight Title, Fluorescent Lighttubes & Glass Panes Deathmatch: Ryuji Ito defeated Minoru Fujita (15:13) with a Lighttube-Assisted Dragon Splash (1st defense). 60

Very good deathmatch to close out the show. These two veterans know how to work a crowd and, like many great BJW deathmatches, use the chaos of lighttubes, glass and blood like (literal) smoke and mirrors to hide any deficiencies in the ring. Ito's gone a very long time without making his V1 defense so this was a nice hurdle to get over. After the match, as Ito was cutting his post-match promo, a surprising challenger walked down to the ring...

2EMCHwe.jpg

...none other than "Crazy Monkey" himself, Jun Kasai! Kasai said that despite his reputation as a deathmatch star, he's actually never won the BJW Deathmatch Heavyweight Title and doesn't feel like he could be satisfied with his career until he does so. He challenged Ito to a title match, but said he doesn't want to do just any old deathmatch - he wants Ito in a rematch of their infamous 2009 Razor Cross Board Alpha Deathmatch! Never one to back down from a challenge, the Deathmatch Dragon accepted, saying he will face Kasai anytime, any place. With that, Last Buntai Night 1 came to a close.

Not predicting yet because I'm just getting used to the cast of characters here, but still want to comment to say that this is EXCELLENT and a ton of fun to read even for someone who doesn't follow BJW or any deathmatch wrestling like myself.

Also the purolove style is soooo easy to follow and understand while still being aesthetically pleasing, so keep it up!

Thank you! I hope I can introduce the company in a way that makes sense to someone who never watched before, and I feel like the pictures and roster page can really help with that. I will try to keep this in mind and write up some more background info on guys when I do longer write-ups as I feel like that would help give more context to a lot of folks who are reading along but might not know as much about BJW.
