Willsky
Under the sprawling grasp of a dominant UK wrestling force, after a decade of decadence and triviality, between an English giant and a Scottish warrior, rises a new haven for wrestling. Forget your soap opera storylines, your endless screwy non-finishes, and your childish attempts at humour, this is Championship Wrestling from Wigan and this is a real man's wrestling promotion. CWW takes pro-wrestling in a very different direction to the sports entertainment products that dominate in 2020. With a focus on in-ring technicality and hard-hitting, realistic action, the promotion aims to carve a niche for itself as a sports-focused, MMA style product with in-ring storytelling considered an art. The CWW Championship lies at the heart of this movement. It is the highest prize for fighters wishing to prove their skill and endurance. A ranking system is in place to determine who deserves a shot at the title and showcases the best main event talent in the UK. CWW is based around a series of tours that last between 4 and 8 weeks and bring wrestling to cities across the north of England. The annual season comes to a head in the King of the North tournament. So prepare yourselves for a new way of looking at pro-wrestling in the UK and join the movement to bring the British Wrestling Scene back to the glory days. Note from the author Willsky This diary will release a new "episode" every Wednesday and Sunday. These episodes include tour shows which are short installations with brief descriptions of matches, except for the main event which gets a longer form write-up. Due to the frequency of these tour shows and the fact that they feature some less important matches that are quite predictable, I will not release the match card beforehand for predictions. However, in the case of the major shows, I will put the match card up for predictions. Major shows will come up every couple of weeks. I hope you enjoy the diary, it's the polar opposite to my main diary, PSP: Drake's Adventure, so it will provide a completely different experience. LaEstrella
Interested to see where this goes. I had a play around with CWW on one save and they're a pretty nice company, definitely feel different to the other offerings out there in the UK. I had a play around with CWW on one save and they're a pretty nice company, definitely feel different to the other offerings out there in the UK. I like their position as an underdog with a strong philosophy that runs counter to everything else around them. I really like CWW -- I've done some pretty extensive gaming as CWW and this could be a lot of fun. You'll definitely have a reader in me. That's great to hear. It's my first time playing the company, but I'm enjoying the small roster and wrestling heavy style. I'm shifting the product to Faux MMA because the requirement for long matches doesn't fit with what I've got in my head for the kind of thing that they'll put on. First show, Championship Showdown is coming up later today!

kanegan
Great 1st show Willsky. It's so funny, I was thinking of creating a new save with 4 faux MMA companies and an alliance between them before I went with Lucha Underground. I even put a preview of it here and I have every intention of visiting it at a later time. I will definitely keep tabs on this as it may help in starting my game. I loved the tale of the tape, just a brilliant idea and one that I hadn't even considered you'd be using. It makes perfect sense. Thanks, I did the tale of the tape on a whim when I was writing the first show and it produced so many story details because now I was thinking about weight differences and reach etc. which I hadn't really considered beforehand. As someone who probably watches more MMA than Wrestling these days I do like the format a lot. Thank you. I've taken a lot of inspiration from WMMA5 when setting this up - did you guys play that game? Great 1st show Willsky. It's so funny, I was thinking of creating a new save with 4 faux MMA companies and an alliance between them before I went with Lucha Underground. I even put a preview of it here and I have every intention of visiting it at a later time. I will definitely keep tabs on this as it may help in starting my game. That's a cool idea. I'd like to see it when you get round to it, but for now I'll keep enjoying your LU diary! I really liked the first show, . Thanks! How did you find the minute by minute description? When writing it was a great structure to have but sometimes I want to have a round when nothing much happens but I've set myself up to write at least seven story beats... Your ideas for tag MMA are really interesting and I hadn't thought about some of the options you've suggested. I hadn't intended to do tag stuff really but your comments have inspired me to think about it a lot more. At this stage I'm not going to introduce tag wrestling because a) the roster is quite small b) I want to establish the ranking system before adding in a new gimmick c) More workers = more money to pay per show. CWW is pretty tight on finances and I've passed on signing a whole bunch of great wrestlers from Europe because I don't want to pay their travel costs. I prefer not to use the editor and give myself more money, although with just 10k it is very tempting! However, I had planned a kind of background story that sees workers associate themselves with each other and start training together - I'm thinking Curtis Jenkins would be the kind of guy who takes a few younger wrestlers under his wing. In a similar way to real life MMA, fight teams would form and have rivalries. That seems to be the most organic way to lead in to tag team bouts so I'll try and work that in a little bit down the line. Perhaps the 2021 year will see some tag team matches will make it onto the card, we'll have to see...

Absolutely. For me it's a challenge to get three dimensional characters across without any angles at all so this is a nice way round the product. LaEstrella
From what I remember, Bradley is definitely one to watch for the future. Nice debut from Jordan as well, I sense a future title challenge coming for him. I don't think Jenkins made the right choice there. What's one win if it costs you a knee? BREdit
Nice Dyansty man! I'm currently playing with CWW too, but I don't use the set of rules you did, which is fantastic! I wish I had thought about that myself Also, about multi-man matches, did you ever thought about using something in the style of Quintet rules? I think that would be a nice way to use the multi-man matches on a MMA/Sports-based approach.
