- BCG owner Yoshifusa Maeda opened the show saying that 2020 would be the year to return Golden Canvas Grappling where it belongs to. In the wake of GCG's traditional show 'Golden Kingdom' BCG will thus for the first time ever implement the show 'Grappling Kingdom' into it's touring plan, where the tradition of the 'Roaring Lion Style' carried by wrestlers of both BCG and GCG will be relived. Thus Maeda says that he ultimately lifts BCG's aversive hiring policy towards those, who had played a major role in GCG during the years of betrayal and that everyone who proves, that he belongs to Canvas Grappling, will get a chance.</p><p>

- Post 3rd match Toshinobu Taku announces that he will have his final match before retirement on Grappling Kingdom and that it is going to be a special singles match against his son Yoshinaka.</p><p> </p><p>

Laying a hand on the back of his son he said, that he couldn't even put into words how happy it makes him on top of that, that a Taku is still playing a big role in the game and that he was able to fight side by side with his son. Still, he had put some thought into what the future might bring for him in the past few weeks and came to the conclusion, that it might be time to leave active competition behind and to transition into a role, that suits a man of his age better. So he announced that he is going to retire within the next three months and considers these final months of his career a farewell tour. He also announced that after his retirement his son Yoshinaka Taku will step up into the role of Team Taku leader.</div></blockquote>

Ox Mastodon vs. Hellion

Hellion has been a diamond in the rough for US powerhouse Supreme Wrestling Federation since his debut in their developmental league RIPW, leaving the company for Japan only two weeks back to sign exclusively with BCG after both company engaged in a bidding war. Since then the masked monster has crushed his opponents and became a member of gaijin horde CRUSHADE quickly by invite of Big Bruiser Findlay, who might be considered the currently strongest of the group, much to the dismay of Ox Mastodon, who felt treated unfairly by Hellion in their matches together. This led to their match here at Grappling Kingdom, which turned into a brutal brawl very early with the two big men leaving no stone unturned. While in the first 10 minutes the offense of both men seemed to do not much harm, finally after (13m11s) Hellion got the better of his opponent, finishing him off with the Devolution Bomb to leave a mark on his new territory. Nichiren Funakoshi & Razan Okamoto vs. Shingen Miyazaki & Masahiro Genji

The first face-off of the night between former Golden Canvas Grappling members and the current Black Canvas Grappling elite is also a match including the reigning BCG World Heavyweight Champion and the reigning GCG World Heavyweight Tag Team Champions. In that sense this match could also be considered an opportunity for both sides to gain a title shot. The two pairs are having a heated encounter at a high technical level, gaining intensity with every minute. While especially Masahiro Genji is looking very strong out there, Nichiren Funakoshi & Razan Okamoto still beat the Money Makers after (27m10s) when Razan Okamoto pinned Shingen Miyazaki with a Brainbuster Suplex. Toshinobu Taku vs. Yoshinaka Taku

This is Toshinobu Taku's final match, before he is going to end his 35th years long career, as announced by the veteran 3 months ago on the first day of the Strongest Lion Series. He already announced that his successor as leader of Team Taku will be his son, whether he is going to win tonight's match or not - still, defeating his father would certainly gain Yoshinaka Taku some respect from his peers. In a ground-focused match where both men prove that they know each other like the back of their hand, Yoshinaka Taku is gaining momentum with every minute as Toshinobu Taku is losing stamina more quickly, than his son. Eventually Yoshinaka Taku won the match by pinfall after (17m16s) by using the Gutwrench Tombstone, his father's finishing move. Still Toshinobu Taku put on a respectable performance in quite possibly his best singles match since joining Black Canvas Grappling in 2011. [70]

- After the match Toshinobu Taku got some time alone in the ring. For almost 2 minutes he was just enjoying the crowd's reaction for one last time, before he grabbed a mic and thanked Yoshifusa Maeda, Black Canvas Grappling, Golden Canvas Grappling, his greatest friends and fiercest rivals and everyone in attendance for being part of his life for the past 35 years and making this career that he had possible. He said that while he wouldn't wrestle anymore the BCG audience could still see him around, as he had signed a contract for an office role already and that he would be staying with BCG, as the company still has journey ahead of it and he could contribute to that. After a last farewell and a deep bow, Toshinobu Taku went down the ramp and left active competition behind for good.

Bunrakuken Torii & Rokuemon Matsushita vs. Mabuchi Furusawa & Ryunosuke Matsuki

GCG and BCG legend Naonobu Murakami joined the commentary table for this bout, calling it a destiny match for Furusawa and Matsuki, as both men have had an unsatisfying year 2020 in Pro-Wrestling so far, with their group losing too often to the Black Lions. According to Murakami they need this win tonight desperately in order to position themselves for the upcoming World Tag Team Grand Prix, that would be their chance to gain momentum and prepare for another attack on one of the major titles. Both teams were well-functioning and had a great flow in a bout where no advantage for either side was visible until the end phase of the match. For a moment the Devil Grappling Army seemed to win this match with a Dangerous Forearm from Torii and a Backdrop Driver by Matsushita only shortly after against Furusawa, but Matsuki could make the save. Afterwards, Matsuki turned the match against Torii, after both men were tagged in and Matsuki was able to counter an Exploder attempt into a Crossface. Even with the time limit in sight, after (28m36s) Torii had no chance but to submit. [79]

- With the victory in their pocket the Money Makers displayed their newly gained confidence by putting the World Tag Team Grand Prix at the top of their agenda. Directed to the crowd Matsuki also stated, that the audience should get used to this final scene of the show, as the Golden Lions would be taking over once again.

Black Canvas Grappling are making huge steps towards their second tournament per annum, the World Tag Team Grand Prix. This is the first time this tournament is held by BCG. It was introduced by Yoshifusa Maeda as a means to improve the quality of Tag Team Wrestling within the company and to give the roster an additional incentive to hone their skills in this type of competition. Maeda held a press conference alongside patron of the tournament Toshinobu Taku, who only retired past Sunday, to promote the World Tag Team Grand Prix and answer questions of the press representatives. There was also a presentation of the Teams participating and a draft lottery to determine who will be placed in which Block.

Finally Toshinobu Taku had the honour to present two guest Tag Teams, that are going to participate. First we have 4 time GCG World Heavyweight Tag Team Champions 'Samoan Machine' Bali So'oialo and Rav Umaga and second a PGHW Team consisting of Haranobu Kobayashi and Tsurayuki Kamachi. There have also been surprises regarding BCG Teams, as Big Bruiser Findlay is going to team up with Hellion for the first time for the tournament, instead of his usual partner Animal Harker and two promising Young Lion Teams are set in the Blocks in the shape of Ichiro Mitsukuri & Koyo Kinoshita and James Diaz & Sam Copland to gather experience.

The World Tag Team Grand Prix is a Round-Robin Tournament consisting solely of Tag Team Matches. The 16 participating Tag Teams are split into two Blocks. The winners of the Blocks will face off with the respective Runner-ups of the other Block in the Second Round to determine who is going to fight for the trophy in the Final Round. Block Matches have a 30 minutes time limit, the Finals have none. The Grand Prix Series will be ranging from 11/09/2020 - 18/10/2020 with the Final Night taking place on 25/10/2020. There will be tournament free days between the Final Rounds.

If he could choose an opponent though, he would pick Furusawa and Matsuki in this case, as he would like to clean the stain they left on his statistics when they beat him and Okamoto in the 1st Round.

<strong>Shingen Miyazaki & Masahiro Genji vs. Rav Umaga & Bali So'oialo</strong></p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:left;"><p>This is a non-title match, even though Miyazaki and Genji from the Money Makers faction are the reigning GCG World Heavyweight Tag Team Champions. Umaga and So'oialo are one of the two guest Tag Teams that took part in the World Tag Team Grand Prix and they had almost legendary status in GCG, winning the titles their opponents currently hold four times. While the Samoans achieved only a midfield position in their Block, Miyazaki and Genji were third, but by a clear margin. They used this match to prove that they belong into the Tag Team Premier League, defeating Rav Umaga & Bali So'oialo after <strong>(21m06s)</strong> when Genji pinned Umaga with a Fusion Reactor. <strong>[61]</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Yoshinaka Taku vs. Hellion</strong></p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:left;"><p>Since his father's retirement Yoshinaka Taku has become the leader of Team Taku, yet the 29 years old seems to still be searching for his place in BCG - maybe now more than ever, as with his father's departure their successful Tag Team has vanished as well. Taku used this tour to test his mettle in singles competition, where he did quite well, but couldn't score victories over the top of the class yet. Newcomer Hellion is in a comparable situation, also searching for his place in the ranking. The masked behemoth is still new to the company though and pretty much destroyed his competition in a terrifying manner so far. Hellion continued to do, as he defeated Yoshinaka Taku after <strong>(14m41s)</strong> by pinfall with a Devolution Bomb. <strong>[66]</strong></p><p> </p><p>

- After the match Hellion left the ring, grabbed a chair and continued to attack Taku. Neither the Young Lions around the ring, nor Team Taku members Yokokawa and Miyake could change anything about that, as the massive Hellion fended all of them off. Finally he prepared to Devolution Bomb Taku on the chair, when suddenly Pistol Pete Hall left the commentary table and entered the ring. The masked monster instantly let go of his japanese opponent and went into a close-up staredown with Hall. Both men shared a few words and the tensity rose, when Hellion finally backed off ... just to turn around again and surprise Hall with a devastating Lariat! Afterwards Hellion called a Hall cowering on the bottom of the ring an old man and advised him to stay the f out of his business.</p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Bunrakuken Torii vs. Fuyuhiko Wakabayashi</strong></p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:left;"><p>After his impressive performances in the Ace Summit and in BCG in general Wakabayashi received this match against one of BCG's best to test his skills. Once again the powerful heavyweight Wakabayashi does not disappoint, putting on not only a good show, but also bringing Torii seemingly to the edge of a loss a few times. The BCG veteran comes back though and wraps up the victory after <strong>(25m46s)</strong> by pinfall with a Dangerous Forearm. <strong>[85]</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Nichiren Funakoshi & Razan Okamoto vs. Mabuchi Furusawa & Ryunosuke Matsuki</strong></p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:left;"><p>Both teams in the first ever World Tag Team Grand Prix Finale are from Block B and have already faced off at Night XIV of the Grand Prix Series, where Matsuki was able to submit Okamoto in a very close match in the 29th minute. The match could have gone either way - still it must be said that the Money Makers have put on an extraordinary performance as a team, having not lost a single match in the WTTGP. While they have done not so well in Singles Matches against BCG's top of the class this year, it seems as if they have found their path again when combining forces. They need tonight's victory not only to harm BCG, but also to position themselves for another shot at the GCG World Heavyweight title, that is still in the hands of BCG trueborn Rokuemon Matsushita. Funakoshi and Okamoto on the other hand want to prevent at all cost that their GCG archenemies disgrace them and the company again by winning this historic tournament and taking something that the Black Lions consider theirs. Once again both teams were fighting it out to the bitter end in a bout filled with spectacle and drama, until history repeated itself and Mabuchi Furusawa & Ryunosuke Matsuki defeated Nichiren Funakoshi & Razan Okamoto after <strong>(44m02s)</strong> when Matsuki submitted Okamoto with a SUKI Special III. <strong>[77]</strong></p><p> </p><p>

- Funakoshi and Okamoto were both shock struck by their loss. Especially the BCG World Heavyweight Champion was furious, putting the blame on Okamoto, who couldn't seem to say much to his defense. In the meantime Matsuki was handed a mic. The Money Maker said that this was the rehabilitation of the Golden Lions and a good basis to build on again. He asked for a title match on the first day of the Anniversary tour - the titles on the line should be the Tag Team titles of BCG, that are currently in the hands of Giant Brody and Ox Mastodon! This announcement caught the attention of Funakoshi instantly, who got himself a mic as well. He said that he had already figured, that those honorless two wouldn't challenge for 'their' titles but those of BCG. He said further that he was deeply ashamed by tonight's loss and that Funakoshi-gun wasn't good enough, but that the Money Makers should watch out, as they may have won again tonight, but would eventually be put into place by Funakoshi.</p></div><p></p><p></div></p><p> </p><p>

- Yoshifusa Maeda opened the tour thanking the audience, the staff members and the roster for their ongoing commitment to the 'Roaring Lion Style'. He said that due to their good performance in the World Tag Team Grand Prix, where they managed to defeat the reigning GCG World Heavyweight Tag Team Champions, Big Bruiser Findlay and Hellion would be fighting for the titles against reigning champions Miyazaki and Genji at the Anniversary Show.

- After the 4th match a man in a leather jacket with a cigarette in the corner of his mouth showed up in the arena, who is well known beneath japanese wrestling fans as a former two time BHOTWG World Heavyweight Champion and key player of the NEO stable variants! It was …

… Yasuhiko Taira!

Taira got himself a mic and told Taku that he did well in that match just now. Then he explained why he was here, in BCG. He said that his rebellious behavior in BHOTWG had strained his relationship with the management for too long and that they had finally cut him off. So he has become a free agent and was looking around what the market had to offer. He said that he liked, what he had just seen and that he could imagine to join the rumble. Taku grabbed a mic and said that he could have that – he challenged Taira to a match at BCG’s Anniversary Show, which Taira accepted with a smirk on his face.</details>

- Nichiren Funakoshi joined the commentary table for the Main Event. While not a big fan of CRUSHADE either the BCG World Heavyweight Champion didn't get tired of emphasizing how strong the Americans were and that the title in their hands would be better than in those of the Money Makers, but eventually Matsuki and Furusawa won and taunted the Black Lion afterwards from inside the ring.

- After his match an enraged Rokuemon Matsushita called it unbearable that once again titles of BCG were captured by members of Golden Canvas Grappling. Matsushita regarded it as his obligation to bring the titles back into the possession of a Black Lion. He challenged Furusawa and Matsuki to a match at the Anniversary Show for the BCG World Tag Team titles. If they were willing to accept he would offer them a shot at his GCG World Heavyweight title at the New Year's Eve Supershow as a bargain, where they could choose the contender to their own liking.

Always trying to be the man others wanted him to be. That was until he founded NEO and became the rebel he is known as today. Taira said he senses the urge in Taku to become a rebel as well.

Noburo Ikoma vs. Fuyuhiko Wakabayashi

This is the second Singles Match between these two men not only in the year 2020, but ever. They faced off this March within their Block in the Ace Summit tournament, where Ikoma had a very hard time securing a win against newcomer and tournament surprise Wakabayashi. Since then the development of both men couldn't have been more contrary. While Wakabayashi's way to the top seems inevitable, former BCG World Heavyweight Champion Ikoma has had a weak year so far and is slowly losing connection to the top. This would be his chance to finally turn things around again - but he didn't use it, as Fuyuhiko Wakabayashi defeated Noburo Ikoma after (24m01s) by pinfall with an Overhead German Suplex. [73]

Shingen Miyazaki & Masahiro Genji © vs. Big Bruiser Findlay & Hellion

As Isei Deushi puts it at the commentary table: Findlay and Hellion might each be extremely dangerous men, but what they do as a team is not very coherent. It is the opposite with Miyazaki and Genji, who are good Singles competitors, but really excel as a combo. The Money Makers hold the belts since January and have so far fended off any challengers, including CRUSHADE members Giant Brody and Ox Mastodon. Even though they have lost to Findlay and Hellion in their Block match of the World Tag Team Grand Prix they have still put up a good overall tournament performance. This match was to a large extent similar to the match in October. Once again the strategy of the Money Makers was to attack systematically the right knee of Findlay and prevent him from tagging in Hellion, as they both knew that there only chance for a victory would be to finish one of their opponents off two on one. This time it seemed like they had the win in their pocket for a moment, when after 16 minutes Miyazaki had Findlay in a Figure Four. But Findlay broke out and managed to tag in the masked monster and from that point on the americans built op momentum, until finally Big Bruiser Findlay & Hellion defeated Shingen Miyazaki & Masahiro Genji after (22m18s) when Hellion pinned Miyazaki with the Devolution Bomb.

Big Bruiser Findlay & Hellion have won the GCG World Heavyweight Tag Team titles. [72]

- After the match the titles were awarded to the Americans by Toshinobu Taku, but Findlay and Hellion acted like total jerks and messed up the ceremony with their behaviour.

Yoshinaka Taku vs. Yasuhiko Taira

It is the first match of Yasuhiko Taira since leaving BHOTWG - the management finally had enough of the rebel and threw him out. As of now he is a free agent and hasn't decided yet which company to join or if to leave the wrestling business behind as a whole. This match is the result of a challenge spoken out by Yoshinaka Taku to give Taira an idea what to expect from BCG and the 'Roaring Lion Style'. Both men were sharing some heavy strikes in a bout reminding more of an MMA or a boxing match than a wrestling match. It was only in the end phase that they went for hooks and slams, when Yasuhiko Taira defeated Yoshinaka Taku after (22m05s) by pinfall with The Flattener after parrying a Gutwrench Tombstone. [77]

- An exhausted Yoshinaka Taku gave Taira some credit after the match, but said that he wouldn't just accept that loss. He stated that he was better than what Taira had just seen and that he would like to prove it - in a Re-Match at the New Year's Eve Supershow! Taira noted, that the kid has some guts and that he likes that. He accepted under one condition. Should he win again then Taku has to swear loyalty to him and become his protegé. This would mean giving up Team Taku. Taku agreed.

Mabuchi Furusawa & Ryunosuke Matsuki © vs. Bunrakuken Torii & Rokuemon Matsushita

Who would have thought that Furusawa and Matsuki would find the success as a team, that they were missing as singles competitors in the end of last year and most of this year? When Furusawa lost the BCG World Heavyweight title to Funakoshi, was later on defeated by Matsushita for the GCG World Heavyweight title in January and couldn't even reach the Final Round of the Ace Summit in April, there was serious tension between him and Matsuki. But both men have pulled themselves together and showed the world, that GCG was not defeated, but still going strong, when they won against their opponents tonight in the 2nd Round of the World Tag Team Grand Prix and achieved the tournament victory shortly after by beating Funakoshi and Okamoto in the Final Round. It was their redemption. Tonight they will be in the defense for the last time; but whatever the outcome of this match, one member of the Money Makers will have a shot at 'their' GCG World Heavyweight title currently held by Matsushita at the last show of the year - it is their chance to attack again and Matsuki has not yet had the chance to challenge for the belt. The members of the Devil Grappling Army on the other hand care for nothing more than for the - in their opinion - tarnished BCG belts, which they want to re-claim to restore order. They are not considered the strongest team of BCG for nothing, putting up a much better fight than in October. When Matsushita hit a brutal Backdrop Driver into the corner on Matsuki a murmur went through the arena and it seemed as if the audience was ready to explode every second to celebrate the new Tag Team Champions ... just that Matsuki, as unbelievable, as it was, broke the Pinfall Attempt and the match went on. From that point on the tables slowly turned, the Money Makers gained momentum and eventually defeated Bunrakuken Torii & Rokuemon Matsushita after (36m50s) when it was Torii again who cost the Devil Grappling Army the match by submitting to Matsuki's SUKI Special III. - Another show that was concluded by celebrating and taunting Money Makers! Immediately after the bell rang Matsushita left the hall in anger, leaving his downed partner back in the ring with the enemy. Matsuki delivered a short promo thanking the audience for another record-setting attendance number - according to him 15.000 people wanted to see the Golden Lions humiliate the Black Lions tonight. He said that the Money Makers would discuss internally which member would challenge for Matsushita's belt at the New Year's Eve Supershow and that they would make an announcement regarding their decision at the first tour show of the Winter Strike Series.

- As promised Mabuchi Furusawa and Ryunosuke Matsuki announced which one of the Money Makers would challenge for the GCG World Heavyweight title at the New Year's Eve Supershow. At the commentary Isei Deushi was certain, that it was going to be Matsuki, as he hadn't fought for the title in BCG yet - but instead, to the general surprise, the legendary Toshiharu Hyobanshi went down the ramp and entered the ring! The mountain of a man who was with BHOTWG since the closure of Golden Canvas Grappling and fought there along with fellow Ex-GCG members Hiroyasu Gakusha, Takayuki 2000, Kiminobu Kuroki and Namboku Makeda as The Golden Army said, that Yoshifusa Maeda has openly welcomed anyone from GCG back who was willing to adhere to the local rules of BCG. So he is here now and would like to see, what BCG in 2020 was all about. Matsuki adds with a confident grin, that the Money Makers have traded Hyobanshi for Miyazaki, who is going to BHOTWG in exchange and that no piece of paper fits between the Money Makers and the Golden Army - people should expect members of both factions to show up anywhere, anytime!

- After his match Yasuhiko Taira said, that he had signed a contract with Black Canvas Grappling and was officially part of the roster now.

In a remarkable performance Wakabayashi and Toshusai managed to defeat the americans at the fourth night of the tour in a Non-title match, thus earning a shot at the GCG World Heavyweight Tag Team titles. They used the same strategy in this match, putting the emphasis on Wakabayashi's powerful Lariats and Throws to overpower their opponents by sheer force. Unfortunately it didn't work out so well this time, as Findlay and Hellion were much more focused and out for revenge. Yoshinaka Taku vs. Yasuhiko Taira

When these two men faced off at the first day of December it was a test - this time it's a real fight. If Yoshinaka Taku loses again he is honour bound to become Taira's protégé, which would mean to disband Team Taku. Toshinobu Taku joined the commentary to have a good view on the match - he looks grumpy, but is quite optimistic that his son will come out as the winner. Taira and Taku were having a physical, strike-heavy encounter again, where Taira did not cheat per se, but fought in an for the japanese scene unconventional manner, basically disregarding any of the unwritten rules of decency in japanese professional wrestling to gain an advantage. Taku on the other hand has always acted according to the high standards of his father, and this eventually cost him the match again. Yasuhiko Taira defeated Yoshinaka Taku after (27m54s) by pinfall with The Flattener. [80]

- After the bout Yoshinaka Taku officially dissolved Team Taku in order to become Taira's protégé before the eyes of his shocked father, who tried to keep his son from fulfilling the promise. Taira then hissed a black flag imprinted with a logo saying 'NEO X ULTIMA' and said, that this was not only his final run in the ring but also the final run of the true NEO and that he would like to make it count.

Rokuemon Matsushita © vs. Toshiharu Hyobanshi

Toshiharu Hyobanshi joined Black Canvas Grappling in the beginning of December, when he was announced by Furusawa and Matsuki as the Money Makers member, who was going to fight Matsushita for the GCG World Heavyweight title at this show. Matsuki then outlined that there was an agreement with The Golden Army from BHOTWG, that consists of Ex-GCG wrestlers as well, to work together and share talent freely, which resulted in the first exchange to be Hyobanshi for Miyazaki. Since then Hyobanshi has had an impressive run in BCG so far, winning 6 of his 8 matches on the Winter Strike Series, while Matsushita was injured mid-tour in a multiman match against the Money Makers, suffering a broken collarbone, leaving it questionable if and how he would be able to fight at the New Year's Eve Supershow. Hyobanshi is widely regarded as a legend of Golden Canvas Grappling and japanese professional wrestling in general and one of the greatest big men of all time. He has held the GCG World Heavyweight title twice and is often used in comparison to Matsushita for their similar style.

Everything was layn out for a match to remember - just that it did not take place. With Hyobanshi waiting ready and eager in the ring for his opponent, Matsushita came into the arena, but in leasure clothes with the GCG title on his healthy shoulder. He entered the ring and said that he wasn't able to defend the GCG World Heavyweight title tonight due to his injury. It wanted to fight Hyobanshi so badly, but he didn't receive the necessary approval from the doctors in the end. Still, he said, he has made a promise to Furusawa and Matsuki to defend his title tonight. This was the deal and he couldn't refrain from it without losing his face, as after all they have kept their part of the deal. So he handed over the title to Hyobanshi making him the new GCG World Heavyweight Champion, before leaving the ring and the arena without another word, but with a scowl on his face. Hyobanshi spit after Matsushita, when he left and then needed a minute to regain composure. He said that this was Matsushita's first major title and he gave it up like this – and then of all the title Hyobanshi holds dear the most, no less than the most prestigious belt in the history of professional wrestling. Hyobanshi could hardly put into words how disgusted he was and what a despisable act of cowardice this has just been. He said that not only Matsushita, but BCG as a whole were going to pay for how they treated this Championship and that he would personally see that it will only get into the hands of someone worthy.

Nichiren Funakoshi © vs. Razan Okamoto

This is Razan Okamoto's first match for the BCG World Heavyweight title in 2020 - he has achieved this shot with his strong performances in the course of this year, where he won 84 out of 105 matches, often at the side of the reigning Champion who is the leader of the faction Okamoto is part of. Okamoto hasn't held the title since his breakout year 2018, where he won both the Ace Summit VII and the BCG World Heavyweight title from Bunrakuken Torii one month later, ending an almost one year long reign. Tonight he might be the one to end a reign even longer than one year, going 406 days so far. Funakoshi said earlier this year that he would like to keep this title at least for the whole of 2020, not knowing what would happen afterwards. The match between Funakoshi and Okamoto was different from their encounters in previous years, as Okamoto has changed his style in march after bulking up significantly and rising to Middleweight. While Okamoto was often considered kind of a foster son to Funakoshi and a prodigy at the same time, during this match he looked like a grown man who was easily en par with his mentor. This match had everything a classic japanese professional wrestling match needs, to keep the audience in an excellent mood, including a dramatic end scene, where both men hit several signature moves, before finally Nichiren Funakoshi defeated Razan Okamoto after (36m48s) by pinfall with a Butterfly Backbreaker. [90]

- Funakoshi had the honour of the last promo of the year. He thanked the audience for their support and Okamoto for the difficult match, that made both men better in his eyes. He also said that he has fulfilled his promise tonight to hold the BCG World Heavyweight title at least until the end of 2020. What happens now would be in the stars, but he would do everything in his might to break the record of legendary Pistol Pete Hall of a reign of 516 days - something he wasn't able to do in his two previous reigns. The Champion also said, that Black Canvas Grappling was growing and that 2021 was looking to be a bright year for the company. With growth new challengers would be coming in and those who beware the traditions of the 'Roaring Lion Style' might not like all of them. They should not regress though, but go ahead and improve to become better pro-wrestlers and to assure REAL Canvas Grappling to persist.

◀ <strong>WRESTLER OF THE YEAR</strong> ▶</p><p>

TOMMY CORNELL (21CW)</p><p> </p><p>

<img alt="Twpem4V.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/Twpem4V.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

Even though Cornell has not held a major title this year he is still at age 42 one of 21CW's go-to guys, who is able to put on a great match with just about anybody on the roster. Noticeable are his rivalries with cousin Edward Cornell and upcomer War Machine this year, that resulted in several classics. It is Cornell's third 'Wrestler of the Year' award and there are some insiders that claim, that this might have been his last year as the undisputed best in the world, as injuries and his age are taking their toll on his body.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

◀ <strong>COMPANY OF THE YEAR</strong> ▶</p><p>

EMPRESA INTERNACIONAL DE LUCHA LIBRE</p><p> </p><p>

<img alt="723hMDO.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/723hMDO.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

Empresa Internacional de Lucha Libre (formerly known as South of the Border Pro Wrestling) has been crowned 'Company of the Year' for the fourth time, surpassing USPW as the record holder once again. After a year of consolidation the young owner Jorge Ibanez Jr. has proven this year with several smart business decisions, that he is coming right after his father. Under his leadership EILL has become the lonesome powerhouse of the mexican professional wrestling scene, increased it's influence in the United States and hosted the best match of the year.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

◀ <strong>TEAM OF THE YEAR</strong> ▶</p><p>

MIKEY LAU & ZIMMY BUMFHOLE (SWF)</p><p> </p><p>

<img alt="UHVNfpH.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/UHVNfpH.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="IOfHmOD.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/IOfHmOD.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

The award 'Tag Team of the Year' goes to Mikey Lau and reigning SWF World Heavyweight Champion Zimmy Bumfhole for the first time ever. Both men are considered two of the greatest singles competitors of modern professional wrestling. After feuding against each other in the beginning of the year they decided to join forces and produced several classics as a result, most noticeably against the team consisting of Valiant and Rogue. But their partnership is placed on thin ice, as shooting star Lau is looking for his first World title win and it might not be long before both men break their alliance again.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

◀ <strong>MATCH OF THE YEAR</strong> ▶</p><p>

DR. RUDO VS. EL HÉROE MEXICANO VS. GINO MONTERO (EILL)</p><p> </p><p>

<img alt="eEycOd0.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/eEycOd0.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="OXGuFer.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/OXGuFer.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="0wXGUfy.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/0wXGUfy.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

At EILL's Día De Los Muertos on Monday, 02/11/2020 before 38000 people and more than half a million people watching on Pay-Per-View, Dr. Rudo defeated El Héroe Mexicano and Gino Montero in the Main Event to retain his Campeonato del Mundo belt, in what is already considered one of the best matches of all time and a bout defining Lucha Libre.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

◀ <strong>SHOW OF THE YEAR</strong> ▶</p><p>

TCW DESTRUCTIVE ENERGY</p><p> </p><p>

<img alt="EGMqSO2.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/EGMqSO2.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

The award goes to TCW's Destructive Energy held in September, that had Jay Chord defeat Freddy Huggins in the Main Event.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

◀ <strong>YOUNG WRESTLER OF THE YEAR</strong> ▶</p><p>

CHARGER SIAKI (SWF)</p><p> </p><p>

<img alt="CYKuVC3.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/CYKuVC3.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

It has been an exceptional year for Charger Siaki - the younger brother of King Malietoa wasted no time in his second year, but went straight for the top of the card in the Supreme Wrestling Federation, having matches with the likes of Valiant, Atom Smasher, Rogue, Rocky Golden and Randy Unleashed. It is clear that the impactful brawler has that special something about himself. Now he only needs to be built up properly.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

◀ <strong>VETERAN WRESTLER OF THE YEAR</strong> ▶</p><p>

ROGUE (SWF)</p><p> </p><p>

<img alt="d4e4gaU.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/d4e4gaU.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

While 2020 has been the first year since 2018, that Rogue has not held the SWF World Heavyweight title, he has still been a constant part of the title and the general main event picture of the company, feuding with the likes of Rocky Golden, Valiant and Zimmy Bumfhole. This year Rogue has also for the first time transitioned into a role, where he had programs with younger talent to test the boys mettle, making him an ideal fit for this award.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

◀ <strong>FEMALE WRESTLER OF THE YEAR</strong> ▶</p><p>

ALICIA STRONG (USPW)</p><p> </p><p>

<img alt="1fr0tx8.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/1fr0tx8.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

For the third time Alicia Strong has won the award 'Female Wrestler of the Year', walking in the path her father Sam Strong has paved for her. With her long-running rivalries against Missy Masterson and Tiffany Jade she has even outclassed her japanese peers, who are still struggling with results of the Tsunami, that hit the country.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

◀ <strong>INDEPENDENT WRESTLER OF THE YEAR</strong> ▶</p><p>

MABUCHI FURUSAWA (BCG)</p><p> </p><p>

<img alt="5eBcwJN.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/5eBcwJN.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

In 2020 it has once again become evident, that Hanshiro Furusawa's son Mabuchi has professional wrestling in his blood. While he won neither title, nor tournament, Furusawa has still been a constant supplier of fantastic matches for independent company Black Canvas Grappling. Especially noticeable where his clashes with Bunrakuken Torii at the Strongest Lion Series Final and the Ace Summit IX as well as his matches along with fellow Money Makers members against the Crème de la Crème of BCG.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>
