SmackDown opens with a video montage of classic WWE in MSG moments including the first Wrestlemania, Wrestlemania X, The Undertaker returning at Mania XX and the first Stone Cold Stunner on Mr. McMahon. The screen then switches to a title card that says: “Tonight a new era begins….SmackDown returns...home.” And videos promoting the SmackDown World Title match, the SmackDown Tag Team Title match and Bianca Belair responding to Shayna Baszler’s attack airs. In less than two hours from now, the SmackDown World Title will be decided when Finn Balor gets the opportunity that he has waited 5 years for when he challenges Roman Reigns for the SmackDown World Championship. Also tonight, Bianca Belair will respond to Sonya Deville’s attack last week. Edge is here to address his challenge for the SmackDown World Title at Extreme Rules, the United States Title will be defended by Cesaro against Bobby Roode and the Smack….

SmackDown Owner The Rock comes out to the delight of the crowd. The Rock grabs a microphone and apologizes for interrupting Michael Cole but it is The Rock who will make this announcement. But first….”FINALLY The Rock Has Come Back To…..Madison Square Garden!!!!” The Rock says that he is proud of this franchise and proud of this show. And proud to make this announcement. TOMMASO CIAMPA AND TIMOTHY THATCHER VS THE USOS ©

This is a fantastic way to kick off SmackDown and Cole & Pat put over how dominant and dangerous Ciampa and Thatcher were down in NXT. And this match is about showing their dominance as both challengers beat the tar out of The Uso’s who are trying to hang in and hold onto their titles. After a brief comeback by Jey Uso that allows the champs to score a near fall on Thatcher, Timothy is able to tag in Tommaso. Once he does, Ciampa throws Jey out of the ring and grabs a kick by Jimmy, spins Jimmy around and delivers Project Ciampa!!! But Jey slides in the ring behind Tommaso and low blows him right in front of the referee which causes the disqualification.

WINNERS BY DISQUALIFICATION: TOMMASO CIAMPA AND TIMOTHY THATCHER

The Uso’s remain champions due to the fact that titles can’t change due to disqualification and they grab their belts and run for their lives up the ramp. Cole and McAfee put over the fact that The Uso’s were about to lose and were desperate so they took the cowardly way out. The Uso’s will have to answer for this in the future!

And where SmackDown Managing Director Sonya Deville announced that Baszler will get a title match at Extreme Rules against Belair but it will be Champion’s Choice. SmackDown returns from the commercial to see Ciampa and Thatcher in the office with The Rock and Sonya Deville. They demand to know if that is how SmackDown will be run or is this place really any better than it was when WWE ran it? The Rock promises that SmackDown is different and Sonya agrees. She says to “trust us” because they will make what happened tonight right.

Bianca Belair comes out to the ring and she is not in a jovial mood and she is not skipping to the ring. Bianca says that this title is the most desired female championship in this entire world. And when you are the fastEST, strongEST, toughEST champion of the SmackDown Women’s Division, you learn to expect the best. And that’s cool. But what Shayna did last week? Girl, that ain’t cool. Shayna wants a fight? That’s no problem, boo. But to attack from behind like a coward? Isn’t Shayna Baszler supposed to be some feared fighter? Because what she did last week is a bitch move. Now Sonya Deville has decided to make it Champion’s Choice at Extreme Rules so here is this champion’s choice…...a Submission Match. At Extreme Rules Shayna Baszler is gonna find out that Bianca Banks may be the fastEST, the strongEST, the toughEST, but she is also the baddEST, meanEST and nastiEST bitch on this block. SmackDown returns to the backstage area where Baron Corbin is standing outside the door of the Managing Director Sonya Deville. He knocks on the door and she comes out. Corbin looks like he hasn't slept all week as he tries to profusely apologize for his actions last week. Sonya says thank you for the apology but that is meaningless. She brought him here to New York City, to the mecca of entertainment, to tell him that after what he did last week he is no longer needed. "To put it bluntly, Baron....you're fired." She then calls security over who drags Corbin down the hallway and literally throws Corbin out of the building into the New York City night. Corbin looks back with a tear in his eye as his SmackDown career has come to an end.

REY MYSTERIO W/DOMINIK MYSTERIO VS JINDER MAHAL W/SHANKY AND VEER

Mysterio is trying to teach his son how a pro handles adversity and fights. And to that end, he does much better than Dominik. Rey has Jinder on his ropes at several points during the match. And even hits a top rope splash but Jinder kicks out. The Modern Day Maharajah battles back and soon has Rey set up for the Khallas but Rey reverses it and is able to hit the 619! As soon as that happens, Veer attacks Dominik on the floor and Rey has his back turned, distracted by this. Jinder sneaks up behind and hits the Khallas for the 3 count.

In the locker room Dominik apologizes to his dad for Rey’s loss. Rey says that Dominik shouldn’t apologize but maybe the lesson here is that they both need to refocus and get back to what makes the Mysterios who they are. Dominik asks what that means and Rey says it means they go back to their heart, their familia, and then they’ll be better than ever. Dominik agrees and they begin packing their bags.

Pretty standard match with Roode getting a lot of offense and really showing some hope that he can beat Cesaro before the champ rallies back. Before long Roode is being hit by a lifting Uppercut, the Big Swing and the Neutralizer for the 3 count.

We see Edge walking down the hallway on his way out to the ring. When SmackDown returns, the Rated R Superstar will make his return to MSG and address Roman and Balor next on FOX.

In the back we see Finn Balor starting to warm up. The biggest moment of his career is now less than an hour away: Balor vs Roman for the SmackDown World Title tonight in our main event.

Edge is in the ring and he is all smiles. He brings up how he is thrilled to be back in Madison Square Garden and how happy he is that he beat Seth Rollins at SummerSlam. Hell, he beat Seth so bad that Seth tucked his tail between his legs and ran to another franchise.

Edge then turns to tonight and what will happen in Nine days at Extreme Rules. Edge says that at Money In The Bank, he was screwed out of the very title that is up for grabs here tonight. And that is the reason that he will challenge the winner of tonight’s SmackDown World Title match in the main event of Extreme Rules. Edge understands that there are others that are deserving, but this is about making things right and it’s about getting back what is rightly the property of the Rated R Superstar.

So tonight good luck to both men because when this night is over, the winner of that match belo….

*CRACK* - Edge goes down suddenly from a chair to the back. The camera looks down at Edge and then pans up to…..

Adam Cole!! He has a sick smile on his face before nailing Edge in the back four more times with the chair. Cole sets the chair up in the corner and then drag’s Edge to it and places his head on the chair. Cole goes to the other side of the ring and then charges and does a running knee into the back of Edge’s head and Edge hits the chair.

Sonya Deville rushes out to the arena with officials to help get Cole out of the ring and allow medical personnel to enter the ring to help Edge. Sonya yells at the floor director to “go to a commercial” while Adam Cole backs up the ramp pleased with himself.

SmackDown returns and MSG is quiet and stunned. We get a replay of Adam Cole’s SmackDown arrival and his brutal attack on Edge. Footage shown of “during the break” shows Edge being fitted with a Cervical Collar and being placed on a backboard and stretchered out of the ringside area. We continue to see Edge being rushed to an ambulance where The Rock is waiting. He tells Sonya to deal with Cole and Sonya promises to do so, The Rock gets into the ambulance with Edge and it races away into the New York City night. Edge’s World Title hopes were just destroyed by Adam Cole.

This match is expected to be a slaughter and that is exactly what it is. War Raiders beat the hell out of these two local competitors from the Tri State area. Before you know it, Fallout has come and War Raiders win another emphatic victory.

We go to the back where Sonya Deville is searching for Adam Cole. A Production Assistant runs up and says that Cole raced out of the building after attacking Edge. Sonya says that one way or the other, Adam Cole will learn that on SmackDown there is punishment for ruining pay per view main events.

This is a fantastic match with the champion starting off dominant while Balor weather the storm. The tide turns when Roman goes for Drive By but Finn trips Roman and the champ’s leg hits the side of the ring.

Back in the ring, Balor brutalizes Roman’s leg with a series of leg locks and stiff kicks that has the champion in trouble. Roman tries to mount a comeback but Balor does the running drop kick into the corner. Balor goes up top but Roman crotches the challenger and delivers a Superplex.

When Roman goes to grab his challenger, Finn rolls up the champ 1….2…..Roman kicks out barely, scaring the hell out of Heyman. Finn starts with more kicks and nails a Backstabber!!

Roman kicks out again. Balor bounces off the ropes to charge Roman but SUPERMAN PUNCH out of nowhere. Roman covers….1…..2…..Balor is out. Roman cannot believe his eyes. MSG is rocking and Roman signals this is over. Roman goes to the corner and calls for the Spear and charges, Balor leapfrogs the champ and Roman hits the turnbuckles, stumbles out into a SLINGBLADE!!!!!

This is Balor’s chance and he knows it! Finn goes up for the Coup De Gras but Heyman, terrified, gets up onto the apron to distract the ref. Finn sees this and drops off the ropes and goes to punch Heyman who quickly drops off the apron before getting decked.

Finn turns around, SPEAR….cover...1….2…..3.

A good fast paced match to get the show going. A lot of high flying from Metalik and Gable as always with an impressive ground game. The crowd are behind Lucha House Party but when the referee isn’t looking, Otis gets on the apron and launches Metailk off the top down to the mat. Gable takes over and ends it with a bridged german suplex.

The camera catches the Lucha House Party dancing in the ring, then a furious Otis as he gets on all fours above his crushed mentor.

Natalya does all the talking. “First off Sarah, everyone has a down night but true champions like Tamina and myself pick themselves up. We know what mistakes we made, we know what they took advantage of. But when we correct that, what do they have?”

Tamina leans in. “A long night.”

The champs turn and walk through the curtain headed to the ring. The Womens Tag Team Titles are on the line, next!

When the champs said they had corrected their mistakes they weren’t lying as Natalya and Tamina completely dominate the early going with smooth tags and double team attacks. Carmella finally makes the tag and the match settles down a little as Alexa and Natalya trade the momentum back and forth. Tamina makes a blind tag and begins climbing to the top but Bliss sees it at the last second and hits the ropes crotching her. Carmella dumps Natalya out by her hair and runs over. She and Alexa climb up and deliver a double superplex to Tamina. Bliss makes the cover 1, 2,

Kickout!

Alexa looks angry but she makes the tag and she and Carmella continue to attack as Tamina attempts to clear the cobwebs. Natalya has climbed back onto the apron as Tamina finds her second wind and begins battering Carmella with hard chops. Natalya is stretching as much as she can for the tag but just before Tamina is able to leap with her arm outstretched, Alexa runs around the ring and pulls Natalya down before throwing her into the stairs. Tamina pulls herself up, exhausted and when she turns Carmella kicks her in the stomach and delivers a Mella Buster. Alexa is back in their corner and when she’s tagged, goes to the top and flies off with Twisted Bliss. 1, 2, 3.

When we come back from the commercial Kevin Owens is already in the ring.

“For the last week everywhere I go the birds are singing, the sun is shining, and I think it’s because I begin each day with such a positive attitude. It probably doesn’t hurt that I also rewatch the end of last week’s Raw over and over in slow motion as I drop that scumbag Karrion Kross with a stunner. I mean, you can probably appreciate how that would put me in such a good mood. Say, uh, would you guys want to watch it with me again?”

The crowd cheers as the video is played on the tron but they’re suddenly interrupted.

Baron Corbin, last seen getting fired on Smackdown, wanders down to the ring.

“Kevin, I’m sorry for interrupting your gloating.”

Owens looks confused. “Baron, what the hell are you doing here? You’re on Smack...oh...yea.”

“You’re a real comedian KO. I’m here because Mr. Layfield has offered me an opportunity to turn my life around here on Raw if I can beat you here tonight. But listen, I know how fleeting these spots on the franchises are so I’m willing to just go right back the way I came from if you can give me five hundred dollars.”

“Let me get this straight. I can pay you give hundred dollars out of my pocket to go away. OR. I can beat the hell out of you, save five hundred dollars, and then you go away. Now Baron I’ve taken a lot of hits to the head in my career but even I know which makes more sense.”

KO’s music hits again as a referee comes running down. In a few minutes Owens and Corbin will be in action!

Corbin starts off strong and seems very determined but when he tries a running boot Owens ducks and Corbin’s leg gets stuck over the rope. Owens goes to town, attacking the vulnerable knee and hobbling the bigger Corbin. With a bad leg, and weeks of probable malnutrition, Corbin becomes easy pickings and the crowd pops when Owens hits the stunner and gets the win.

Elias spends most of the match beating Mansoor from corner to corner but the young man keeps kicking out of pin attempts. Elias, growing frustrated, goes to the top but Mansoor runs over and hits a hurricanrana off the top. Elias is flat on his back staring up at the lights as Mansoor picks him up by the air and hits what Jimmy Smith calls a ‘Saudi Destroyer’ in the manner of Petey Williams. He makes the cover and Elias eats yet another loss.

But when he misses a charge in the corner, Kofi gets the hot tag and begins going to town on him. Crews tries to intervene but Woods cuts him off and now the referee has lost control. As Woods and Kofi are tangled with the referee and Crews, Azeez gets to his feet but suddenly…..

SETH ROLLINS VS KING NAKAMURA W/ RICK BOOGS

These two put on a great match with each pushing the other and then responding back. The crowd loves when Nakamura lights Rollins up with kicks and strongstyle is definitely present. Rollins sells like his life depends on it and uses his usual underhanded ways to gain an advantage. Half way through the match Rollins is on the outside when he notices the crown. Entranced, he forgets his surroundings and pays for it when Nakamura nails him with a running cannonball off the apron. Nakamura rolls him back but gets a two count as we go to commercial.

When we return Rollins is looking like he’s seen better days but Nakamura misses a running knee in the corner and Rollins is on him in a heartbeat. Rollins gets several two counts before he goes to the top but when he jumps off Nakamura raises his good leg in the air catching Rollins in the jaw. As the action continues in the ring, another pair brawl through the crowd and spill into ringside.

Soon Kross enters the ring and Owens follows. All four men are fighting side by side when suddenly Rollins clotheslines Owens and Kross kicks Nakamura in the face with a big boot. Now the pairings have shifted but the brawl continues. The referee has seen enough and calls for the bell.

Hey guys, really love this thus far. I love the slow approach you're taking with this and there is a plan for loads of talent very apparent in both franchises.

I've seen the take with two writers before but this is excellently done. The YouTube videos are kind of breaking the nice formatting for my taste but at times they are definitely appreciated! Obviously this is more of a personal note more than anything else.

The news concerning Raw are interesting, as I would have expected that booking wise it would make more sense to take the first or third hour, depending how strict that 2nd hour booking is going to be.

Anyway, keep up the good stuff and I'll comment as you go along

I'm keenly awaiting the next shows!

PS: Cole vs Edge is going to be amazing!

The video then shows the debuts of Tommaso Ciampa & Timothy Thatcher and the Uso’s getting disqualified. We then see the SmackDown Title match where Paul Heyman’s distraction leads to Roman retaining his title and the final scene of Sonya announcing the six man main event for this Sunday at Extreme Rules.

Adam Cole comes out to kickoff SmackDown from Knoxville, Tennessee. We are two days away from Extreme Rules from the sold out Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio. Cole and Pat welcome us to the show while Adam Cole walks down the aisle and reminds us about how Adam Cole showed up last week and attacked Edge, taking the Rated R Superstar out of the main event at Extreme Rules. Cole gets into the ring and grabs a mic with an arrogant smile on his face.

Cole mockingly pretends to be sad about ruining Edge’s dream and putting him out again. And then asks “who’s ready for Storytime with Adam Cole Bay Bay?” Cole says that four years ago Triple H sought after Adam Cole to turn his franchise into a real competitor with WWE. Triple H did not go seeking out Edge to have some miraculous return and be the face of NXT. He wanted Adam Cole Bay Bay.

And when The Rock bought SmackDown from WWE and made Sonya Deville the Managing Director, who was the first person that they sought out? It sure as hell wasn’t Edge - they would’ve been fine if he had ended up with Raw. Sonya Deville needed to make a splash and the person that she coveted was Adam Cole Bay Bay. So Edge just gets to walk around here like it is still 2006 and like he is the hottest prospect in this business, demanding title shots?

In the immortal words of our owner, Edge - know your damn role, this is Adam Cole’s time.

Adam Cole is on SmackDown because SmackDown knows that the future of this franchise is Adam Cole Bay Bay. So Adam Cole will do whatever he wants around this place because no one has the balls big enough to stop him. And when the time comes, Adam Cole will own this place. And that’s…..undisputed.

Cole and Pat are disgusted by Adam Cole but they concede that he may have a point. The announcers then pivot to a video of destruction by Piper Niven. The monster of the SmackDown Women’s division is in action after this time out.

SmackDown returns to the camera following Adam Cole, walking from the gorilla position through the back and stops when he comes upon SmackDown Managing Director, Sonya Deville. She looks at him with icy eyes and says that Adam Cole is the one that she and The Rock coveted. That is true. And they made that deal with Triple H because of the talent that is Adam Cole, they knew who he is - but the talent is worth the risk. But what Adam Cole is wrong about, is that he is untouchable. There are and will be repercussions to actions around this place and here it is - for attacking Edge last week, Adam Cole is fined $250,000. Adam Cole laughs and says with that hefty contract Sonya just gave him, Adam Cole doesn’t care about $250k. If that’s all she’s got….that’s cute. He pats her on the arm and walks off.

PIPER NIVEN VS JESSAMYN DUKE

Piper’s attire is now all black and she has a permanent scowl on her face as she just decimates Duke, who as the announcers put over, has a strong MMA background. Piper lands stiff Forearms, stiff Clotheslines and several Suplexes as she makes sure everyone knows that the end is near. Soon, a World’s Strongest Slam provides the emphatic exclamation point. 1...2...3.

Because until someone steps up and stops these women’s suffering, Piper Niven will tear through every woman in the world.

SHEAMUS VS DREW GULAK

Gulak, making his SmackDown debut, gets some good shots early in the match but he makes a fatal error when Drew flies off the top rope right into a knee by Sheamus. From there, the Celtic Superstar pounds away on Gulak’s chest and hits some high impact slams before nailing a Brogue Kick for the 3 count.

After the match, Sheamus gets on a mic and says that the reason he attacked Cesaro last week at Madison Square Garden is quite simple; Sheamus wants what is rightly his. And that is a rematch for the United States Title this Sunday at Extreme Rules.

This brings out both Roode and Ziggler who also stake their claims for a rematch since all three men were defeated by the champion in recent weeks.

Sonya comes out and says that she does not like anyone demanding title matches around this place but all three want a rematch? Let’s bring out the champ and see what he says. Cesaro comes out and polls the audience who he should face this Sunday before saying “screw it, I’ll take on all three of you.” Sonya asks if he is sure and Cesaro confirms that he is. And the match is made: this Sunday at Extreme Rules it will be a Fatal Fourway for the United States Title: Sheamus vs Robert Roode vs Dolph Ziggler vs United States Champion Cesaro.

And SmackDown will be right back on FOX!

SmackDown returns to Finn Balor, Tommaso Ciampa & Timothy Thatcher in a blue-lit locker room area. It is very reminiscent of old school locker room promos as the three cut a promo on The Bloodline promising that this Sunday at Extreme Rules, there are no rules. There are no boundaries. And there is nothing that this union against The Bloodline will do to make Roman Reigns & The Uso’s pay for what they’ve done to SmackDown this past year. Columbus, get ready for war - because it is coming this Sunday at Extreme Rules.

JOE AND MARK COFFEY BROTHERS VS WAR RAIDERS

The announcers tell us that The Coffey Brothers are Joe & Mark Coffey and they are former NXT UK Tag Team Champions here on a SmackDown tryout. And the result for the Coffeys is a good showing as they take the fight to War Raiders, nearly securing a victory when Joe Coffey nails a Discus Lariat onto Erik for a close fall. But that is the best that The Coffey’s get as War Raiders take over and soon they nail Fallout on Mark Coffey for the pinfall

The match starts out with a fast paced offense by Ricochet but Veer uses his weight advantage to powerslam Ricochet. This match actually then becomes about highlighting Veer’s skills and his weight advantage over Ricochet with Ricochet playing the white meat babyface trying to hold on. When Veer chases Ricochet into the corner, Ricochet sidesteps and kicks him in the face before nailing a German Suplex. Ricochet climbs to the top and nails the 630 for the pinfall.

SmackDown returns to the Bloodline’s locker room where SmackDown World Champion Roman Reigns is sitting in a big chair with SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos on each side of the chair and Paul Heyman standing directly behind the champion. It is Roman that delivers the following promo, looking bored at the camera:

“You know Paul, the Island of Relevancy is surrounded by a vast ocean of nothingness. I plucked you from the ocean, I saved you, but I can't save everyone. Now we have these nobodies coming from NXT and they think they can step up to my blood. The Smackdown World Tag Team Champions. The audacity! And then there's Finn Balor who himself had been cast out into that ocean and he's trying to swim ashore and challenge me. I hate to be that guy Paul, I really do but there's only so much space on the island. And as the head of the table I have to decide who's worthy to touch one grain of our sand. Balor, Ciampa, Thatcher....they're just not worthy but like rabid dogs they don't listen to reason. So I have to do to them what you do for any rabid dog. You put it down. That's my responsibility. This Sunday, the Big Dog is going to show who's the alpha and we're going to end this.”

The video fades back with the Uso’s raising their titles high and Heyman holding the SmackDown World Title above the head of the Tribal Chief. The sides are set and a titanic collusion awaits us this Sunday at Extreme Rules.

SHOTZI BLACKHEART VS SHAYNA BASZLER

Early on Shotzi stuns Shayna with a flying Crossbody Block and a Superkick before nailing a Corner Cannonball that leads to a Tiger Suplex for a close two count. When Shotzi charges for a Corner Diving Knee, Shayna clotheslines her while she charges and nearly knocks out Shotzi. Shayna delivers a standing knee of her own to Shotzi that nearly knocks her opponent out and picks Shotzi up and drops her over the ropes causing Shotzi to land face-first on the floor.

On the floor, Shayna rams Shotzi’s arm into a ringpost but Shotzi does a Drop Toe Hold onto Shayna on the floor causing Baszler to hit the steps face first. Back in the ring, Shotzi climbs to the top and launches her body off in a front somersault into Shayna who catches her midair and does a Northern Lights Suplex. From there, Shayna locks in the Kirifuda Clutch and Shotzi has no choice but to tap out.

WINNER BY SUBMISSION: SHAYNA BASZLER

After Shayna’s win, the challenger for the SmackDown Women’s Championship this Sunday celebrates and then gets a devilish smile on her face. Shayna turns and eyes Shotzi holding her shoulder and pounces on Shotzi, beating her down even more before locking on the Kirifuda Clutch once more.

The crowd comes alive when, true to her word, the SmackDown Women’s Champion Bianca Belair arrives. Shayna sees her and let’s Shotzi go and motions for Bianca to come into the ring. Bianca quickly obliges and sprints down the aisle and into the ring and trips Baszler as soon as she gets into the ring.

From there the champ is beating the hell out of her challenger as referees start to run down. A referee momentarily distracts Bianca and it allows Shayna to get in a shot to the champ’s face and now Baszler is kicking and punching at her opponent this Sunday.

Bianca delivers an uppercut to Baszler and is back on her feet and the two are throwing hands while more officials flood the ring. Finally some wrestlers get into the ring and separate the two. Baszler and Bianca break free as Cole and Pat tell us that we’re out of time. Do not miss Extreme Rules when these two women continue their war for the SmackDown Women’s Title. Isla gets some kicks and punches in as the match begins but Piper looks merely bored. Isla bounces off the ropes and runs directly into a clothesline by Piper and that is the end of Isla’s offense. Piper bounces Isla around the ring and then throws her into a corner and delivers not one, but two splashes in the corner. After a stiff punch to the face, Niven nails the World’s Strongest Slam which has been renamed “Avalanche” for the 3 count.

HANDICAP MATCH

APOLLO CREWS AND COMMANDER AZEEZ VS DAMIAN PRIEST

Though it is a handicap match, tag rules do apply. The heels double team Priest through the early going but he fights back, stunning both men with stiff right hands. Azeez, who is not legal, nearly drops Priest with a knee to the gut and holds Priest up for Crews who runs off the ropes for a running forearm but Priest ducks and Azeez takes the hit, stumbling back and falling but getting tied up in the ropes. Crews tries to free his man but Priest takes over, hitting a series of moves on Crews before nailing the Reckoning. As Azeez struggles to free himself the referee counts to three.

WINNER BY PINFALL: DAMIAN PRIEST

As soon as the opening video for Extreme Rules finishes playing we go right to the backstage area where The Bloodline are attacking Balor, Ciampa and Thatcher. Balor is eventually singled out and The Usos are able to nail a double Superkick before officials are able to rush in to stop the attack. The Bloodline are wasting no chances to try to win here tonight by attacking their opponents at the start of this pay-per-view.

We go to the back where a long black limo pulls up and the Hurt Business has arrived. Bobby Lashley and MVP exit the car and head inside. We’ll have an extreme edition of the VIP Lounge tonight!

AJ begins against Kofi and works the first half of the match with Omos getting into the action behind the referee’s back, laying in big hits when Kofi or Woods is trapped in their corner. Finally the big man is tagged in and standing against Woods it appears like David vs Goliath. Woods uses his speed to avoid clubbing blows and hitting Omos when he can but to little effect. A missile dropkick off the top from Kofi into Omos’ back merely angers the colossus who grabs both New Day members and delivers a double chokeslam.

AJ is tagged back in and goes for a lazy pin but Woods kicks out. AJ seems annoyed but peppers Woods with right hands but he begins jawwing with Kofi too much and allows Woods to dropkick him in the back. AJ goes through the ropes to the floor and Kofi makes the tag, before going to top and soaring down on AJ with a double axe handle across his back. The New Day begins to take over. AJ is in trouble as he’s the victim of multiple double teams and pin attempts but he keeps kicking out. Woods, who is not legal, attempts to set up AJ for a double team but the referee intercedes and begins forcing him out. This is when Omos steps over the rope and delivers a massive powerbomb to Kofi. He literally picks up his partner and puts him on top before stepping back over. When the referee turns he sees AJ on top of Kofi and makes the three count.

Backstage we catch a glimpse of Karrion Kross and Seth Rollins strategizing in their locker room about their match tonight. Just as Kross begins to lay out his big plan, Scarlett enters the picture and closes the door.

Michael and Pat welcome us to the SmackDown portion of this show and they take us through the arrival of Shayna Baszler to SmackDown a few weeks ago, Bianca’s message to Shayna at Madison Square Garden and their confrontation just two nights ago. In just a couple of weeks this has become deeply personal and now one of these two stars will have to submit. Shayna Baszler will challenge Bianca Belair for the SmackDown Women’s Title in a Submission Match right now.

SUBMISSION MATCH

As soon as the match begins, Bianca throws Shayna to the floor and grabs a chair and nails Shayna in the knee with the chair. The champ rolls Baszler into the ring and does a Fall Away Powerbomb and then works on the leg of the challenger. Belair throws some kicks and a leg whip and a chop block to try to keep Shayna down before going for a Half Boston Crab but Baszler grabs Bianca and places her into the Kirifuda Clutch is able to make it to the ropes but this allows Baszler to stand up. The challenger dumps the champ on her head with a T-Bone Suplex and then drops a knee on the back of Belair’s head.

The two then start grabbing weapons and swing dueling Kendo Sticks at each other before Belair uses a Kendo Stick to do a Side Russian Leg Sweep. From there Bianca is able to lock in a Half Boston Crab. Shayna desperately crawls to the ropes but the champ pulls her back into the center of the ring. Shayna screams for mercy as Bianca leans further back into the hold. Shayna is about to tap out but she sees the Kendo Stick and grabs it and raises the stick backwards hitting the champion in the head.

Bianca has to let go and Shayna wails away with the weapon. Shayna does a running knee strike but the champ fights some more. Bianca goes for a Spear but when the two collide to the ground, Shayna grabs Bianca and turns her around and locks in the Kirifuda Clutch!!! Bianca again struggles to get out of it and gets to her feet but Baszler won’t let it go. Baszler wraps her legs around the waist of Bianca and brings her back down to the mat. Bianca will not tap out but she cannot get away. Bianca eventually clearly passes out from the pain while Shayna smiles with vicious glee and the ref has no choice but to call for the bell. We have a new SmackDown Women’s Champion!!!

WINNER BY SUBMISSION AND NEW SMACKDOWN WOMEN’S CHAMPION: SHAYNA BASZLER

But the Almighty certainly still lives the high life because he has earned it. He earns it every time that he defends that Raw World Championship and the good news for all of you is his next contracted title defense is coming up at the Crown Jewel event in three weeks. You may be wondering, MVP...who is the Almighty going to fight? Well you know as much as we do which to put it lightly is insulting. So tomorrow night on Raw I am going straight to the office of JBL, our franchise owner, and I am going to find out who the opponent is so that the champ can begin to properly prepare. But make no mistake, it doesn’t matter who it is, this title isn’t going anywhere and his opponent is going to the hospital!

A hype video airs showing Cesaro challenging Sheamus for the SmackDown United States Title and winning it, then showing the defenses against Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode before Sheamus attacked Cesaro. We see all three men stake a claim for a rematch with Cesaro and Sonya Deville making this a Four Corners Elimination match. The US Title will be decided...next.

FOUR CORNERS ELIMINATION

SHEAMUS VS ROBERT ROODE VS DOLPH ZIGGLER VS CESARO

The early story of the match is all three challengers trying to take out the champion to ensure that there is a new champion, but each prevents one from beating Cesaro. After the champ survives the onslaught, he begins to pit the three against each other and eventually Ziggler and Sheamus go to the floor brawling. Roode attacks Cesaro from behind and goes for the Glorious DDT but Cesaro lifts Roode up into the air and nails a European Uppercut for the three count.

Robert Roode has been Eliminated

Ziggler immediately attacks the champion and nails the ZigZag but when he covers, Sheamus drags Ziggler off. The two spar and that gives Cesaro a chance to bail to the floor and catch his breath. Sheamus beats the crap out of Dolph but when Sheamus prepares to do the Brogue Kick, Cesaro trips the Celtic Warrior from the outside and he face plants. Cesaro runs in and puts Dolph in the Big Swing and gets through two rotations when BROGUE KICK comes out of nowhere and drops Cesaro. Dolph gets up and turns around and Sheamus nails Dolph with the Brogue Kick as well. Cover...1...2….3.

Dolph Ziggler has been Eliminated

Sheamus goes to grab Cesaro, but the champion rolls him up...1….2….Sheamus kicks out. Sheamus nails White Noise and scores a close 2 count. Sheamus sees his opportunity and goes for the Brogue Kick and hits it.

Cesaro barely kicks out! Sheamus beats his chest and throws Cesaro against the ropes but the champ ducks a kick attempt and flies off with a back elbow. Cesaro lifts Sheamus up into the Big Swing and then the Neutralizer!!!

LAST WOMAN STANDING

Naomi starts hot and with the disqualification out of the window she doesn’t wait to bring a chair into the match and before Nia knows what hit her she’s being whacked across the back and hip. Nia eventually knocks the chair out of Naomi’s hands but the challenger begins firing right hands into the champion’s head, knocking the larger champion back into the corner. Naomi mounts her for the traditional fan favorite ten count punch but at seven Naomi is launched halfway across the ring to the mat. When she looks up she sees an incensed Jax running at her. Nia flattens Naomi with a shoulder charge and once she has her challenger on the mat she begins using her size and power to decimate her. Nia backs off and the referee begins to count but Naomi makes it up at 4.

Nia goes back on the attack, dropping several elbows across her back and standing on her for several seconds. The referee begins counting again and the fans are chanting ‘glow’. Naomi pulls herself to her feet via the ropes at the seven count and motions for Nia to bring it. Nia charges her in the corner but Naomi side steps and begins launching kicks into Nia’s stomach but she’s too worn down from the punishment and Nia catches her leg in one hand and grabs her by the throat with the other dropping her with a choke slam. Nia drags her closer to the corner and delivers a Nia (Vader) Bomb. Backing off she makes a show of dusting off her hands as the referee counts.

But when he gets to eight and Naomi is obviously not getting up, Nia shoves him out of the way and picks Naomi up by her hair. Nia stands Naomi up in the corner resting chest first towards the turnbuckles and rolls out of the ring. She reaches underneath and it's only when she holds up the handcuffs that her plan begins to be revealed. Nia handcuffs Naomi around the post, locking her into place before returning to the ring. Nia stands in the opposite corner and charges, splashing Naomi from behind. Again, and again until Naomi is literally hanging there held up by her arms. Nia, a big smirk on her face, walks over, picking Naomi up one last time and unlocks the handcuffs, letting her tumble to the mat. The referee counts and this time Nia doesn’t interfere with it.

WINNER BY STOPPAGE AND STILL RAW WOMEN’S CHAMPION: NIA JAX

As officials tend to Naomi who appears to be hurt, Nia simply holds her title belt high in the air and kicks her feet back towards Naomi as if scraping the dirt off them.

New SmackDown Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler is walking around backstage with her title with people clearing the way as she walks down the hall. Shayna comes across Toni Storm who is talking to a staffer and won’t clear the walkway for the champ. Shayna and Toni stare at each other and Shayna goes around Toni who resumes talking to the staffer. The Champ comes up behind Toni and puts her in the Kirifuda Clutch while the staffer runs for help. Shayna let’s go and walks away with Storm in agony on the floor all because Storm wasn’t afraid of the new SmackDown Women’s Champion!

TORNADO TAG RULES

SETH ROLLINS AND KARRION KROSS W/SCARLETT VS KING NAKAMURA W/RICK BOOGS AND KEVIN OWENS

The natural pairs begin fighting each other to begin the match and its chaos from the beginning but soon Kross is fighting with Nakamura and long time enemies Owens and Rollins are in the other corner. The heels take an early advantage but when they attempt to whip the heroes into each other it’s reversed and Rollins and Kross collide. Owens clotheslines Kross over the top and follows him over. This leaves Nakamura and Rollins in the ring alone and they release all of their pent up dislike of each other.

On the outside Owens and Kross begin using everything they can get their hands on to hit each other with. Owens rams Kross into the ringpost and reaches under the ring and pulls out a table. He sets it up but as soon as he’s done Kross is all over him and slings KO into the stairs. Meanwhile Rollins is building momentum until he tries a running knee lift in the corner and hits nothing but turnbuckles. Nakamura pounces on the opportunity striking Rollins with pure strong style. Kross sees what’s happening and slips back in to nail Shinsuke from behind. It’s a double team for a moment until Owens is back in and now we’re back to a four man brawl. Owens goes up to the top but is crotched by Kross who climbs up and the two trade right hands but Owens gets the better of it and lifts Kross onto his shoulders. Owens looks down at the table which is below them, before standing on the top ropes and flings himself and Kross backwards, delivering a Samoan Drop through the table as the crowd jumps to its feet chanting ‘holy shit!’.

Rollins sees what happens and stands in awe for the moment but he turns back to Nakamura who is down and he indicates the stomp is coming. He goes for his finisher but Nakamura rolls and when Rollins stomps the mat he grabs for the knee he hurt earlier and falls to the mat. Shinsuke begins laying in the stiff kicks across his chest before hitting a roundhouse to the head. Rollins is down and Nakamura goes to the top but Rollins jumps up and half hobbles to the corner crotching Nakamura and hits the superplex but he doesn’t release it and rolls through for the Falcon Arrow but he hesitates when his knee twinges again and Shinsuke pulls him into a small package for the win.

WINNERS BY PINFALL: KING NAKAMURA AND KEVIN OWENS

Seth Rollins sits up, a look of disbelief on his face as Nakamura’s hand is raised. Seth keeps shaking his head as if this is a bad dream before a look of pure hatred appear on his face and he looks like he wants to rip his own hair out.

Meanwhile the camera pans to the sight of Kevin Owens and Karrion Kross still laying in a mangled heap and medical officials tend to them.

We see backstage where Raw World Champion Bobby Lashley and MVP are headed out of the building when Lashley nearly slips on something. The Champion catches his balance before going down and looks down with a glare before he reaches down and holds up a banana peel. He and MVP share a confused glance until we hear some muffled chuckling. The camera pans over.

Big E stands there, a big smile on his face, with the Money in the Bank briefcase in his left hand, and a referee in his right. As the champion stares him down Big E releases the referee and holds up his fingers showing Lashley was ‘that close’ from a cash-in. The Hurt Business leave the scene at MVP’s urging but Big E can’t stop laughing.

A hype video airs showing the debut of Ciampa & Thatcher and how the Uso’s got themselves disqualified. It shows Balor trying to win the SmackDown World Championship but Heyman’s distraction saving the day for Roman. The video cuts to Sonya Deville making the main event for tonight and the aftermath just two nights ago. But after the attack by The Bloodline to open this show - Balor, Ciampa & Thatcher cannot be 100%. It looks like the deck is stacked again! The main event where all six men will be in action and anything goes is next.

TOMMASO CIAMPA, TIMOTHY THATCHER, AND FINN BALOR VS ROMAN REIGNS AND THE USOS W/PAUL HEYMAN - ANYTHING GOES

When the match begins, the Usos and Ciampa & Thatcher go to war while Roman stays on the floor. Balor tries to help his men with Roman picking his shots but when Jey misses a chair shot onto Balor, it forces the champion to engage in the battle. And it’s a setup because Roman finds himself in the center of the ring surrounded by his opponents who each have Kendo Sticks. Roman just tries to cover up as the 3 whack at the Head of the Table before the Uso’s get into the ring and save their Tribal Chief who nails to the floor.

The Uso’s start using chairs to take out Balor first and then it’s a brawl between the Tag Champions and their challengers. The Uso’s score a near fall on Thatcher when they do a old school Double Back Suplex. Eventually some order is restored and a regular six man match starts to form with The Bloodline isolating Thatcher from his team. The Champ even gets in some power shots before tagging his cousins back in, but Thatcher shows full heart and doesn’t succumb. After a Double Splash by The Uso’s, Roman tags in and prepares to go for the Superman punch but Finn Balor grabs Roman’s hair as he runs and it forces Roman to take a bump. Thatcher is then able to tag in his partner, Ciampa.

Ciampa has the Head of the Table rocking and rolling with some stiff shots to the chest and back area and now it is Ciampa and his partners that are keeping Roman from his cousins. Balor tags in and nails the Slingblade for a count that is broken up by Jimmy Uso just in time. This brings in Ciampa and Thatcher and they have chairs and soon a battle is back on. Right after Balor drop kicks Roman into his corner, Jimmy Uso is able to blindly tag in just before Balor flies off onto Roman with the COUP DE GRAS!! Balor covers but Roman is not the legal man and when Balor turns around he is beamed with a chair in his back by Jey Uso.

The Uso’s set Balor up for the Samoan Drop into a Splash but Ciampa and Thatcher break up the pin attempt. Roman is back in and he and Balor brawl in the ring and it spills onto the floor. Roman goes for the Drive By but Balor swings a chair into Roman’s knee taking the champion out.

Balor throws a chair to Ciampa and one to Thatcher and they begin to wail away on the Uso’s. After Thatcher removes Jey from the ring, Ciamoa nails Project Ciampa onto Jimmy before tagging in Balor who flies off with the Coup De Gras onto Jimmy for the 1...2….3.

WINNERS BY PINFALL: FINN BALOR, TOMMASO CIAMPA & TIMOTHY THATCHER

After the match, Roman Reigns is furious and looks at his cousins who have failed their Tribal Chief. While Balor, Ciampa & Thatcher celebrate, Roman and Paul Heyman back up the aisle with Roman wearing a look of disdain on his face. But once Roman and Heyman get to the end of the aisle, a familiar song suddenly plays:

Roman slowly turns around with a look that says “now what?” Heyman simply looks scared out of his mind as Drew McIntyre, apparently SmackDown’s newest star, comes out to the entrance blocking Roman from going backstage.

Drew walks right up to the SmackDown World Champion and goes nose to nose with him. This awful night for the Head of the Table continues. Has Roman Reigns met his next challenger?

loving all this so much, such a great concept for reigniting WWE after such a long time lacklustre creative.
