Dalton
RING OF HONOR STATE OF AFFAIRS - MAY 2013 1. C&C Wrestle Factory def. ACH & Tadarius Thomas 2. Roderick Strong def. Mike Bennett 3. I QUIT MATCH: BJ Whitmer def. Rhett Titus 4. SCUM (Cliff Compton & Jimmy Jacobs) def. Kevin Steen & Michael Elgin 5. NOAH VS. ROH: Eddie Edwards def. Taiji Ishimori 6. ROH WORLD TELEVISION CHAMPIONSHIP: Matt Taven © def. Mark Briscoe 7. Davey Richards def. Paul London 8. ROH WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP: Jay Briscoe © def. Adam Cole Ring of Honor in May 2013 is in a state of war. The villainous S.C.U.M. (Suffering, Chaos, Ugliness, Mayhem) faction, primarily led by Steve Corino and Matt Hardy, are determined to mold ROH into their image. They have gone after men that many consider the heart and soul of ROH: Kevin Steen and the Briscoes. Current ROH World Champion Jay Briscoe, fresh off a win in a respectful contest with Adam Cole at Border Wars, is sure to have his hands full with SCUM heading into May. The rest of SCUM (Rhino/Cliff Compton/Jimmy Jacobs/Jimmy Rave/Rhett Titus) are causing chaos throughout the rest of the ROH roster. Elsewhere on the card, NJPW's Karl Anderson, just days after being a founding member of the Bullet Club faction, is coming to Ring of Honor to partake in the next set of TV tapings and has stated he is aiming for the top. ROH World Tag Team Champions reDRagon (Bobby Fish & Kyle O'Reilly) are quickly turning into a top heel tag team in pro wrestling. ROH World Television Champion Matt Taven, backed by Truth Martini, is aiming to make a name for himself in ROH. ROH Best in the World is scheduled for the last Saturday of June, meaning that there will be two sets of TV tapings before we reach that date. With momentum decidedly in their favor, Ring of Honor is well-equipped to have a monstrous run. Edited August 26, 2022 by Dalton

Dalton
RING OF HONOR WRESTLING RECAP MAY 2013 RING OF HONOR WRESTLING THURSDAY WEEK 1, MAY 2013 1. Karl Anderson def. Dalton Castle - NJPW mainstay and Bullet Club co-founder Karl Anderson kicked off ROH Wrestling by defeating the hot up-and-comer Dalton Castle. While Castle has potential, Anderson is at the peak of his career and was able to make fairly quick work of him. After the match, Anderson grabbed a microphone and reminded everyone that just a few days ago, he formed the Bullet Club alongside Prince Devitt, Tama Tonga and Bad Luck Fale. They are the baddest group of pro wrestlers walking the face of the earth. He said that he wanted to bring home a gift to his BC faithful: the ROH World Championship. Next week, he wants a title match against Jay Briscoe! Briscoe came out and accepted the challenge, but noted that if ever calls himself the baddest man in wrestling again, he will knock his teeth down his throat. 2. American Wolves (Davey Richards/Eddie Edwards) def. Monster Mafia (Ethan Page/Josh Alexander) - As with the opening contest, the losing side has plenty of upside but were no match for the victors, who have already realized their potential. American Wolves are former ROH World Tag Team Champions and one of the best tag teams in the world. They made the belt motions after the match, signifying that they are looking to be repeat champs. Kevin Steen was backstage for a promo. He said that he, just like the fans, are getting real tired of SCUM in Ring of Honor. Steen said that he bleeds ROH, and he will be damned if a group of outcasts are going to come in here and try to take that away from him. 3. Adam Cole def. Mike Bennett - Adam Cole may have lost to ROH champion Jay Briscoe at Border Wars, but he reset his momentum here by beating Mike Bennett in the main event. RING OF HONOR WRESTLING THURSDAY WEEK 2, MAY 2013 1. Adam Page def. Silas Young - An upset! The young "Hangman" Adam Page upset the bigger and stronger Silas Young in the opening contest with a quick rollup off a reversed lariat. Page didn’t have much time to celebrate however, as he was quickly attacked from behind by Young. He gave Page a massive powerbomb and angrily walked away from the ring, upset that the 21 year old had beaten him. 2. Taiji Ishimori def. Vinny Marseglia - Pro Wrestling NOAH's Taiji Ishimori extended his US trip by coming back to Ring of Honor for another match, and he picked up a victory over hot young prospect Vinny Marseglia. After the match, the announce team of Nigel McGuinness and Kevin Kelly announced that in two weeks, Taiji Ishimori would challenge Matt Taven for the ROH World Television Championship! 3. ROH WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP: Jay Briscoe © def. Karl Anderson - Unfortunately for Anderson, he would not bring the ROH World Championship to the Bullet Club as he fell to Jay Briscoe in the main event. An incredible match, Briscoe fought from underneath for most of the match before hitting a Jay Driller for the clean victory. While Jay was celebrating, all of SCUM came to the ring and beat him down. After a Gore from Rhino, Matt Hardy was about to hit a Twist of Hate but Mark Briscoe and Kevin Steen sprinted to the ring with chairs to make the save. The faces stood tall to end the show. RING OF HONOR WRESTLING THURSDAY WEEK 3, MAY 2013 1. Mark Briscoe def. Cliff Compton - In another battle of the war between ROH and SCUM, Mark Briscoe took down Cliff Compton in a heck of an opening contest. Compton is showing new life as a member of SCUM, and Mark Briscoe is showing that he is just as good as his world champion brother and tag team partner, Jay Briscoe. The celebration was short-lived, as Steve Corino, Matt Hardy and Rhett Titus entered the ring and attacked Mark. They kept staring at the entranceway, clearly waiting for a save to be made. Kevin Steen and Jay Briscoe came to the ring and SCUM quickly left. The villainous group just wanted to make their mark while they had the chance. 2. Rhino def. Colin Delaney - This match went about as expected. SCUM's hoss Rhino made quick work of Delaney. Backstage, Adam Cole cut a promo. He said that coming up short to Jay Briscoe at Border Wars has lit a fire under him. From now on, he vows to become the Ace of Ring of Honor. He's tired of people saying that his time is coming. Adam Cole's time in right now. 3. ROH WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP: reDRagon (Bobby Fish/Kyle O'Reilly) © def. C&C Wrestle Factory (Caprice Coleman/Cedric Alexander) - reDRagon are quickly establishing themselves as one of the best tag teams on the planet . Coleman and Alexander, despite being talented in their own right, struggled to keep up with the champs here. The finish was great however, as O'Reilly landed a series of quick kicks on Coleman to pick up the victory. Looking to add insult to injury, Bobby Fish grabbed a chair from ringside and was going to use it to smack Cedric Alexander across the face. But before he could do so, the music of the American Wolves hit and Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards came to the ring for the save. Richards grabbed a microphone and said that at Best in the World, they are taking the titles from reDRagon. RING OF HONOR WRESTLING THURSDAY WEEK 4, MAY 2013 The fourth week of May's episode of ROH Wrestling opened uncharacteristically, as the Briscoes and Kevin Steen made their way to the ring for a promo. Kevin Steen that he has joined forces with the Briscoes to defend the company he loves against SCUM. Jay Briscoe proudly held the ROH World Championship in the air and said that he would not be letting some sports entertainer like Matt Hardy take the title from him. 1. ROH WORLD TELEVISION CHAMPIONSHIP: Matt Taven © def. Taiji Ishimori - In a sleeper hit of a match, Taven successfully defended the TV title against Pro Wrestling NOAH's Taiji Ishimori, who earned the match two weeks ago on ROH Wrestling. Truth Martini interfered in the finish to ensure his client retained the title. 2. Jay Lethal def. Pepper Parks - Lethal, a former ROH TV champion and Survival of the Fittest winner, made quick work of Pepper Parks, another talented undercard worker in ROH. Despite being a babyface, Lethal bent the rules throughout. Lethal grabbed a microphone after the match and laid out a challenge for Best in the World: he wants Homicide! 3. SCUM (Matt Hardy/Rhino) def. Adrenaline RUSH (ACH & Tadarius Thomas) - This was a showcase match for SCUM, primarily Hardy, to show that he can keep up with the faster, younger talent in ROH. He did just that and more, and even won the match with a Jay Driller instead of his usual Twist of Hate. Hardy spoke after the match and said that Jay Briscoe can talk all he wants about defending ROH against SCUM. He said that he his career lows are still better than Jay's career highs, and winning the ROH title at Best in the World will be another championship to put on the shelf at home. CGN91
Good first string of shows. I like the clean looking format and the writing is on point: Not too much for an one hour television show, and not too less. I have to say I didn't watched ROH in 2013 anymore, but the roster is super talented when you think about it now in 2022. One of my absolute favourites ever, Jimmy Rave, was still rocking here. May he rest in peace.

Dalton
MAY 2013 NEWS WWE Extreme Rules 2013 was main evented by CM Punk over Brock Lesnar. This main evented over Dolph Ziggler retaining the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in a Fatal Four Way match against Chris Jericho, Big Show and The Miz. The reason for Punk vs. Lesnar main eventing in a nontitle match was to appease Punk, who is feeling more and more discontent with his position in the company. With a clean victory over one of the biggest stars of this century, WWE is still trying to make Punk happy, as they would lose a huge draw if he were to ever decide to walk. In other WWE news this month, Jake Roberts and Ted DiBiase Sr were also rehired, with both men expecting to become managers for young talent. TNA Sacrifice 2013 saw Aces and Eights leader Bully Ray retain the TNA World title over Sting and Austin Aries. The Bully Ray push continues to be baffling, as the crowd is not reacting to him and, simply put, no one cares about this reign. The saga of AJ Styles looks like it will be over soon. Styles is said to be incredibly unhappy with TNA and Dixie Carter, and has made steps towards actually leaving the company very soon. Styles has been called the heart and soul of TNA for over a decade, and continues to be their best wrestler, so losing him would be a huge blow. It is unknown what the next career step would be for Styles, but a return to ROH or a NJPW debut seem likely. WWE would be foolish to pass up on him, but with Vince's hiring practices, a small Southerner is not exactly the archetype for a WWE signee. NJPW Wrestling Dontaku saw a surefire Match of the Year contender main event the show. The rivalry between IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kazuchika Okada and Hiroshi Tanahashi continued, with Okada gaining another victory over the Ace of the Universe. The Bullet Club is the hottest angle in Japan right now. The faction, led by IWGP Junior champion Prince Devitt who just beat Jushin Liger clean to retain the belt, is positioned as a "cool" gaijin faction, meaning that they are not purely heels as previous iterations of invading foreigners are. In ROH news, the S.C.U.M. storyline continued through May. The TV tapings saw NOAH's Taiji Ishimori and NJPW's Karl Anderson partake, meaning that the company still has strong relationships with Japan's top two companies. ROH World Champion Jay Briscoe, an odd choice for champ, is doing everything he can to prove that he deserves main event status, but signs point to fans wanting something bigger. The SCUM storyline should probably end soon. There's only so much mileage ROH can get with presenting WWE outcasts like Matt Hardy and Rhino as top stars on par with the likes of Kevin Steen and Roderick Strong. Dalton
RING OF HONOR WRESTLING RECAP JUNE 2013 RING OF HONOR WRESTLING THURSDAY WEEK 1, JUNE 2013 1. Homicide def. Dalton Castle - The month of June kicked off with the dangerous Homicide defeating Dalton Castle, who is pretty much the polar opposite of Homicide. Homicide took to the mic and said that at Best in the World, he would kick Jay Lethal's ass. The entirety of SCUM was backstage in a private locker room, as they would obviously not get along with anyone in the ROH locker room. Matt Hardy said that at Best in the World at the end of the month, he will SCUMmify the ROH World Championship and put an end to Ring of Honor as we know it. 2. Silas Young def. Adam Page - Silas Young got his rematch after Adam Page beat him in a huge upset last month. This time, Young came out on top and was much more brutal than their last encounter. Paul London was backstage with Veda Scott. Veda asked him what is next for him in Ring of Honor. As London began to speak, he was interrupted by his former tag team partner, Brian Kendrick! Kendrick, a regular for New Japan Pro Wrestling and former ROH regular known as Spanky, stepped to London's face and said that what's next in Ring of Honor is Brian Kendrick. He said he crossed the Pacific to face Paul London one last time. In two weeks, Londrick explodes as Paul London and Brian Kendrick face off! Next week in the main event of ROH Wrestling, Kevin Steen and the Briscoes will face SCUM's Matt Hardy, Jimmy Jacobs and Rhett Titus! 3. American Wolves (Davey Richards/Eddie Edwards) def. Forever Hooligans (Alex Koslov/Rocky Romero) - An awesome main event between two incredible tag teams. American Wolves, just weeks away from their ROH World Tag Team title match against reDRagon at Best in the World. reDRagon came out onto the ramp with the belts around their waist. They sarcastically clapped as American Wolves grinned at them from the ring. RING OF HONOR WRESTLINGTHURSDAY WEEK 2, JUNE 2013 1. Adam Cole def. Pepper Parks - Adam Cole, who said last month that he aiming to become the Ace of Ring of Honor, defeated Pepper Parks in the opening contest in decisive fashion. The ROH crowd is quickly getting behind Cole. Veda Scott was backstage with Athena, a fast-rising wrestler in the independent scene. Veda asked Athena what her plans are in Ring of Honor, and she responded that she is here to become the best women's wrestler in the best wrestling company on the planet. Seleziya Sparx entered the frame and said that if Athena thinks she can waltz into ROH and proclaim herself the best, she is mistaken. The two then brawled around the interview area until a host of officials separated them. 2. Roderick Strong def. Josh Alexander - An awesome match between the incredible Roddy Strong and another future ROH star, Josh Alexander. Roddy won with an End of Heartache. The ROH Wrestling team of Nigel McGuinness and Kevin Kelly announced that next week in the main event, Paul London and Brian Kendrick face off! They aired a quick video package showing the highlights of both men's careers in the early days of ROH. 3. SCUM (Matt Hardy/Jimmy Jacobs/Rhett Titus) def. Kevin Steen & The Briscoes - An explosive main event for ROH Wrestling. The trios went to war, but in the end SCUM stood tall over Team ROH through a messy web of interference and dirty tactics. Matt Hardy got the pinfall over Mark Briscoe with a Twist of Hate after Steve Corino interfered and grabbed Mark Briscoe's leg. SCUM attempted a beatdown on Steen and the Briscoes, but were quickly thwarted and the faces stood tall. ROH World Champion Jay Briscoe grabbed a microphone and said that at Best in the World, he will make Hardy his bitch and continue representing Ring of Honor with the world title around his waist. RING OF HONOR WRESTLINGTHURSDAY WEEK 3, JUNE 2013 1. ROH WORLD TELEVISION CHAMPIONSHIP: Matt Taven © def. RD Evans - Taven continues his rise in Ring of Honor by defeating RD Evans to retain the TV title. As Matt Taven and Truth Martini were celebrating, Roderick Strong came out onto the ramp. He challenged Taven to a match for TV title match at Best in the World, a match that Taven accepted over the slight objections of his manager. 2. Athena def. Seleziya Sparx - After a brawl in the interview area last week, Athen and Sparx squared off in the ring. Sparx mission to end Athena's ROH career before it started failed, as Athena was able to beat her in decisive fashion. Cary Silkin came to the ring for a special announcement. He said that the main event for Best in the World is huge, with ROH World Champion Jay Briscoe defending the title against SCUM's Matt Hardy. Silkin said that such a historic night for Ring of Honor will not be marred in controversy. To ensure a clean match between two talented men, if any ROH talent interferes in the world title match that night, their contracts with Ring of Honor will be immediately terminated! ROH World Tag Team Champions reDRagon cut a backstage promo on American Wolves, Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards. Kyle O'Reilly stated that the match has been made official: reDRagon vs. American Wolves at Best in the World. Fish mentioned that lest we forget, reDRagon formed six months ago at Final Battle to face American Wolves, a match that they lost. And now that reDRagon are ROH World Tag Team Champions, they are going to erase the one blemish they have as a tag team and take down the Wolves. 3. Paul London def. Brian Kendrick - An awesome main event between a storied former tag team. The two ROH originals went all out, with London picking up the victory with two Tower of London maneuvers. ROH Wrestling ended with Paul London standing tall over Brian Kendrick and celebrating. London said that he is sending Kendrick packing back to NJPW. Brian Kendrick's ROH return is over before it really even started. RING OF HONOR WRESTLINGTHURSDAY WEEK 4, JUNE 2013 ROH Wrestling started with Adam Page angrily coming to the ring. He grabbed a microphone and said that he pissed off. He challenged Silas Young to a rubber match at Best in the World to truly find out who is the better competitor. And not just any match, this will be a Manhattan Street Fight! 1. Kevin Steen def. Cliff Compton - Kevin Steen picked up a win over SCUM's Cliff Compton here. A win that Team ROH desperately needed, the Briscoes were at ringside with chairs in hand to defend Steen, and was able to keep SCUM away long enough for Steen to win cleanly. Homicide was backstage for a promo, but was immediately interrupted by Jay Lethal. Lethal said that at Best in the World, he was going to pin Homicide in his own backyard of New York City. Lethal will show him that New Jersey is better than New York. That comment set off Homicide who began to pummel Lethal. A brawl quickly erupted and was eventually broken up by ROH officials. 2. Rhino def. Corey Hollis - Another showcase for Rhino, who destroyed Corey Hollis here. 3. Davey Richards def. Bobby Fish - In a preview of the ROH World Tag Team title match at Best in the World this weekend, American Wolves' Davey Richards defeated one-half of reDRagon and champion, Bobby Fish. Kyle O'Reilly and Bobby Fish immediately beat down Davey Richards, but was saved by Eddie Edwards. The two teams had a massive brawl and ROH Wrestling went off the air with the four men still going at it.
