Perhaps it is as you say, condolences are not in order here. I don't know the first thing about your whole situation, and I'm not asking. it is your business. I don't need to know. However, you may have as many internet hugs as you desire. Whether they're condolence hugs, sympathy hugs, encouragement hugs, praise for enduring so well hugs, or a type I've left out is entirely up to you.

This is a 2-fer post.

First, predictions:.

ALPHA: Brandy, Nuclear, Mastodon, Weathers.

BETA: Gross, Simmons, Norris, Ouilette

GAMMA: Blackfield, Diego, Gibson, Nakamatsu

DELTA: Dhillon, Priest, Hida, Delight

Secondly, and perhaps of more interest...

A LOOK AT CLINCH ODDS IN THE FOUR DIVISIONS AS OF THE END OF WEEK 10

ALPHA DIVISION

LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP

Brandy McDonald is the front runner.  79% of the time, she finishes at least tied for best record. 55% of the time she has the outright best record in the Alpha Division and repeats as League Champion without any dispute.

In descending order, the odds of at least finishing with the top record (my simulator does not account for ties) are: Nuclear Templeton (36%, 15.8% solo best), De'Siree Mitchell (12.4%, 2.8% solo best), The Mastodon (2.3%, 0.05% solo best), George Mastachas (1.18%, 0.02% solo best), Mel O'Hallister (0.03%, cannot have best record unopposed).

Yes, folks. O'Hallister has a 20 out of 65536 chance to tie for the best record in the Alpha Division at the end of the season. You're not seeing things.

DEMOTION INTO BETA

The only person mathematically safe is Brandy McDonald. Nuclear has a 0.04% chance of being in a tie where 7th or 8th place is involved. That's not zero, though, so it has to be said,

Pulsar is 99.8% likely to drop, Weathers is 79.4%. The difference between Weathers and O'Hallister is over forty percentage points--O'Hallister only has a 36.76% chance to drop into Beta again. In order of decreasing frequency, the remainder runs as follows: Mastachas (11.25%), Mastodon (8.77%), Mitchell (1.84%), Nuclear (0.04%--only 26 scenarios).

BETA DIVISION

PROMOTION INTO ALPHA

The current top two are most likely: Gross and Simmons each have a 93.7% chance to tie for the top two spots and ascend to the top flight. Norris and Ouilette each hold a 22/8% chance of doing so. Clay has a 1% chance, River just a 0.76% chance.  Wassermann and Stevens cannot earn promotion.

RELEGATION INTO GAMMA

Stevens has a 99.4% chance of dropping (or at least tying for 7th or 8th place). Wassermann has a 76.77% chance.  River has a 31.78% chance, Clay has it at 31.29%. Norris has only a 2.64% chance, while Ouilette is even less at 1.66%. Gross and Simmons cannot be relegated this season.

GAMMA DIVISION

PROMOTION INTO BETA

Nakamatsu has the best chances, at 94.29% compared to Blackfield's 92.63%.  It's a far jump down to Gibson (24.58%) and Rodriguez (22.24%), then not as large a jump to Onoo (0.83%), Diamond (0.78%), and Rose (0.57%). As you probably gathered from his total of 0 wins, Tornado cannot possibly promote.

RELEGATION INTO DELTA

Again with the reminder that TIEBREAKERS ARE NOT FACTORED IN, Tornado is guaranteed to at least tie for the second-worst record in the division and as such is almost an automatic lock for dropping into Delta. Beneath that come Onoo and Rose (47.80% each), Diamond (45.58%), and then Rodriguez and Gibson (3.87% each). Blackfield and Nakamatsu are safe and cannot drop into Delta.

DELTA DIVISION

PROMOTION INTO GAMMA

Molina's in the driver's seat--90.63% chance to move up at season's end. Behind him come Priest (65.73%), Dhillon (64.17%), Hida (28.75%), and then a long drop back to Silver (1.05%), Abernathy (0.01%), and Delight (0.009%, or 6 scenarios out of 65,536). Anarchy is mathematically eliminated.

Man, Dhillon's really got Priest's number. Think he's made up almost half of his losses so far 😅

Weather forecast did worsen. It’s now scheduled to rain Friday night into the entirety of Saturday.  After consultation with my stepmother, we’re looking into the following week to do this thing.

So regular schedule applies, and I will do my damnedest to get the show up on Saturday morning as I’ve been normally doing. Having a half day off on Friday is going to help matters with that as I’m a bit behind…thanks, Windows Updates and console Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters. >.<

We now return you to the prediction window already in progress.

THE LEAGUE: SEASON NINE, WEEK ELEVEN

DELTA DIVISION HARDCORE MATCH

 xJrKs53.jpg54miFm6.jpg (7) Devil's Delight (3-7, OVR 412)

vs.

(8) Jimmy Anarchy (2-8, OVR 435)* V1I70uc.jpg

Not the most spectacular of starts to a night of action, this one saw Anarchy squander an early advantage to allow Delight a chance to get back in the match. Having two wins in the last three weeks seems to have helped her morale, as she listened to her sister at ringside, kept the match in the ring and well away from Anarchy’s preferred domain, and scored a submission with Purgatory’s End. At this point, it’s safe to say that Delight has far surpassed her own expectations, as she opens up some distance between herself and the last-place Anarchy.

Devil's Delight (4-7) def. Jimmy Anarchy (2-9) via Submission (Purgatory’s End) in 12:17.  Rating: **

Changes for Devil's Delight:  OVR + 4.10, XP + 485.90, minor damage to head

Changes for Jimmy Anarchy:  OVR -0.07, XP + 121.47, no notable damage

ALPHA DIVISION

VfA2MW8.jpg (8) Pulsar (1-9, OVR 438)

vs.

(7) Big Scott Weathers (3-7, OVR 458)* OOiJTFx.jpg

It’s rare to see an Alpha Division bout so low on the card, but then the clear bottom two in the division face off that’s the result you get. This would have ended a minute earlier than it did except that Weathers kicked out of the Zodiac Implosion. Pulsar looked stunned at this for a few seconds but pressed the offensive, taking to the air for a springboard splash which kept Weathers down for three. Perhaps it was the two hard impact to the chest that did it, but Pulsar scores the upset and drives a nail into Weathers’ hopes to remain in the top division for season ten.

Pulsar (2-9) def. Big Scott Weathers (3-8) via Pinfall (springboard splash) in 13:03.  Rating: **

Changes for Pulsar:  OVR + 4.14, XP + 729.40, no notable damage

Changes for Big Scott Weathers:  OVR -0.07, XP + 182.35, moderate damage to head, minor damage to body

DELTA DIVISION

4ZAKk1I.jpg (4) Kichi Hida (6-4, OVR 428)

vs.

(5) Sterling Silver (4-6, OVR 456)* va4qjuU.jpg

A Match of the Night contender, this was closely-contested throughout. Hida’s initial strategy seemed to be to let Silver wear herself out. When that didn’t seem to be working, Hida turned up the violence, debuting a new signature that Frankie Garnett claimed was called “Glory in Violence.” She tried to follow that up immediately with Eternal Violence, in keeping with the theme, but Silver ducked the charging knee.  From there, Silver found a second wind, picked up the pace, and eventually picked up the duke with her vaunted 450 splash to complete the season sweep. Had just one or two things gone differently, this could have been Hida’s for the taking.

Sterling Silver (5-6) def. Kichi Hida (6-5) via Pinfall (On Wings of Silver) in 10:34.  Rating: ***

Changes for Sterling Silver:  OVR + 5.17, XP + 525.49, minor damage to head

Changes for Kichi Hida:  OVR + 0.72, XP + 131.37, minor damage to head

GAMMA DIVISION

LTFF6jR.jpg (8) El Tornado (0-10, OVR 426)

vs.

(2) Yoshii Nakamatsu (8-2, OVR 472)* giFlbJV.jpg

This match would actually set a tone for the fair number of matches on the card. Nakamatsu had to fight back from an early onslaught by Tornado, but found himself unable to keep pace with the luchador. A cross body into a springboard guillotina into a DDT into the Tornado Splash was the combination Tornado needed to finally notch his first win of the season at a time when it’s essentially far too late to matter, and Nakamatsu gets dealt a staggering blow as Blackfield has the chance to widen the gap atop the division!

El Tornado (1-10) def. Yoshii Nakamatsu (8-3) via Pinfall (Tornado Splash) in 11:29.  Rating: **

Changes for El Tornado:  OVR + 4.05, XP + 558.34, no notable damage

Changes for Yoshii Nakamatsu:  OVR -0.07, XP + 139.58, minor damage to head and body

BETA DIVISION

ginc2gw.jpg (8) Terrance Stevens (1-9, OVR 439)

vs.

(3) Jean-Paul Ouilette (6-4, OVR 466)* ZThYhej.jpgAAdEYyr.jpg

A painfully average match to kick off the Beta Division action this week, Ouilette jumped to an early lead but could not make anything of it. Stevens has no such issues, and the last place wrestler in the division scores a huge upset with only one attempt needed at the Maple Leaf Meltdown. Stevens still needs a lot of help to avoid relegation but this is certainly a solid start in his efforts to prevent that fate.

Terrance Stevens (2-9) def. Jean-Paul Ouilette (6-5) via Pinfall (Maple Leaf Meltdown) in 12:37.  Rating: **

Changes for Terrance Stevens:  OVR + 4.11, XP + 631.87, no notable damage

Changes for Jean-Paul Ouilette:  OVR -0.07, XP + 157.97, minor damage to head

GAMMA DIVISION

limej5G.jpgxd5Rq8a.jpg (4) Erick Gibson (6-4, OVR 454)

vs.

(6) Diamond (4-6, OVR 451)* 0rDaDU8.jpg

Diamond may have had limited success in the first half, but she showed here why she got the win over Gibson in the opening half of the season. Weathering a Gibson offensive flurry, she let the evil boss overwork himself into exhaustion, and took advantage when he was barely able to defend himself. Almost like a role reversal of reality, huh?

Thinly veiled opinions aside, once Diamond took the reins in this match she didn’t let them go. When the 24 Karat Kiss did nothing, her swanton bomb did, and Diamond grabs a huge victory to help her standing in the Gamma Division with three to go!

Diamond (5-6) def. Erick Gibson (6-5) via Pinfall (Diamond in the Sky) in 10:42.  Rating: **

Changes for Diamond:  OVR + 4.01, XP + 557.91, minor damage to head

Changes for Erick Gibson:  OVR -0.07, XP + 139.48, minor damage to head

DELTA DIVISION

8CXZgHS.jpg (6) Lord Robert Abernathy (3-7, OVR 410)

vs.

(3) Christian Priest (7-3, OVR 496)* NldKaI4.jpgAOP9il0.jpg

Not as exciting as some of the other bouts so far, this was still a statement match for Christian Priest. After his third career loss to Monty Dhillon last week, he made certain to let the rest of the Delta Division know that last week was not representative of his intentions, as he still looks to get into Gamma next season.  Abernathy found this out first-hand as he let an early lead slip away (after a Pastor Abe Richards trip halted his momentum), and fell victim to Martyrdom at around the twelve-minute point of the match. The tap was merely academic from there.

Christian Priest (8-3) def. Lord Robert Abernathy (3-8) via Submission (Martrydom) in 12:05.  Rating: **

Changes for Christian Priest:  OVR + 4.08, XP + 388.64, no notable damage

Changes for Lord Robert Abernathy:  OVR -0.07, XP + 121.45, minor damage to head

GAMMA DIVISION

zTBxNBX.jpg (7) Jun Onoo (4-6, OVR 451)

vs.

(3) Diego Rodriguez (6-4, OVR 460)* 9wxABJw.jpg

All right, folks, confession time.  I forgot to get the play-by-play for this one because FedEx interrupted me to deliver my new keyboard and mouse (casualties of the Stairs Incident) in the midst of my post-match process, and by the time I sat back down I forgot what I was doing. It wasn’t until I went to add the PBP to the show program that I realized I never saved it. Whoops. Upside, I can *finally* resume doing Omega Division stuff again!

I do recall the gist of the match summary.

Despite the size differential, Rodriguez actually got Onoo on the defensive, and worked inside the larger man’s reach to utilize his technical arsenal. Onoo got his power shots in here and there, and almost took Rodriguez’s head off with a Rampage that the Spaniard just barely ducked under, but in the end it was Rodriguez’s technical acumen that won this match for him, as the heel hook was enough to force the submission in what would be one of the only bright spots of the entire card during week eleven.

Diego Rodriguez (7-4) def. Jun Onoo (4-7) via Submission (Discordant Melody) in 13:01.  Rating: ***

Changes for Diego Rodriguez:  OVR + 5.35, XP + 720.78, minor damage to head

Changes for Jun Onoo:  OVR + 0.74, XP + 266.45, moderate damage to head

This was the Match of the Night (1 [1 this season] for Diego Rodriguez, 3 [1 this season] for Jun Onoo)

BETA DIVISION

N0Y594C.jpg (6) Markus Clay (4-6, OVR 448)

vs.

(4) Billy Norris (6-4, OVR 463)* ayWv1C3.jpg

A fast-paced matchup, this went back and forth for a while with neither man holding a significant advantage. About eight minutes in, some of the bigger moves were coming out, as Clay nearly scored a pin with a springboard clothesline. Norris would fight back, and his attempt at the Down Under Disaster went for naught. Clay went aerial once too often, as a springboard senton missed, and Norris followed up with a rana that he held for the pin, and Clay kicked out a half second too late. Norris finishes the sweep with a surprise finish, and moves into third in the division following Ouilette’s loss!

Billy Norris (7-4) def. Markus Clay (4-7) via Pinfall (rana pinfall) in 13:22.  Rating: **

Changes for Billy Norris:  OVR + 4.16, XP + 632.34, minor damage to head

Changes for Markus Clay:  OVR -0.07, XP + 158.09, minor damage to head

ALPHA DIVISION

iLs7NYn.jpg (5) The Mastodon (5-5, OVR 462)

vs.

(4) George Mastachas (5-5, OVR 458)* hlph25Q.jpg

Avoiding a squash purely on the fact that Mastodon had a decent amount of offense early, Mastachas controlled the second half of this bout and won this one without much worry on his part, hitting Olympus Rises and promptly following it with a Wrath of Zeus to remain within spitting distance in the Alpha Division.

George Mastachas (6-5) def. The Mastodon (5-6) via Pinfall (Wrath of Zeus) in 14:58.  Rating: **

Changes for George Mastachas:  OVR + 4.25, XP + 730.78, no notable damage

Changes for The Mastodon:  OVR -0.07, XP + 182.69, minor damage to head

BETA DIVISION

ZCYwviV.jpg (7) Angela Wassermann (3-7, OVR 441)

vs.

(1) Daniel Simmons (8-2, OVR 477)* ha8RmaF.jpg

This was more akin to a three-round MMA fight than a wrestling match. In the first “round,” Wassermann dominated Simmons for the first few minutes, almost getting him into position for a piledriver or a stump puller. Simmons fought back, and the second “round” was all Simmons, as he put Wassermann into even worse condition and had Wassermann thinking a Blue Collar Driver was in the future. This prompted her to mount a comeback, and the final “round” saw her take top control, hit some punches before failing to submit Simmons with an arm triangle, and a DDT later she applied her signature Cross Arm Breaker for the tap out, and the upset over the current division leader!

Angela Wassermann (4-7) def. Daniel Simmons (8-3) via Submission (Wassermann Cross Arm Breaker) in 11:32.  Rating: **

Changes for Angela Wassermann:  OVR + 4.05, XP + 631.20, no notable damage

Changes for Daniel Simmons:  OVR -0.07, XP + 157.80, minor damage to head

DELTA DIVISION TABLES MATCH

 wtKjCIc.jpg (1) Lucas Molina (8-2, OVR 431)*

vs.

(2) Monty Dhillon (7-3, OVR 473) vz0qqDp.jpg

The other half of Croquemitaine’s prediction contest win last season, he elected to use the Tables match against Molina as his second to hamper the technician’s primary offensive weapons. The author does not suspect that at the time, Croquemitaine knew this match would be ostensibly for control of the Delta Division heading into week twelve.

However, we all know matches aren’t fought on paper, they’re fought inside those little glowy boxes we keep on our desks and entertainment centers. So the outcome may have surprised some people.  Dhillon had a clear early advantage, and was the first to introduce a table into the contest. His mistake was that Molina wasn’t stunned enough, and slid outside before Dhillon could get back in the ring. Outside the ring, Molina was a different man, surprising his larger opponent with not one, but two Puerto Rican Legsweeps onto a steel chair, a DDT onto that same steel chair, and eventually a new finisher came into play, a move he calls the San Juan Buster that put Dhillon through a half-opened table to net what some call an upset victory, and allow Christian Priest to slide into second place in the division!

Lucas Molina (9-2) def. Monty Dhillon (7-4) via Table Break (San Juan Buster) in 10:38.  Rating: **

Changes for Lucas Molina:  OVR + 4.00, XP + 485.10, minor damage to head

Changes for Monty Dhillon:  OVR -0.07, XP + 121.28, minor damage to head

BETA DIVISION

dTs8j7q.jpgT127n44.jpg (5) Blood River (4-6, OVR 468)

vs.

(2) Reverend Johnny Gross (8-2, OVR 462)* IgD64Oj.jpg

Given all of the chaos in the Beta Division tonight, Gross seemed a bit warier than normal coming into this match. This ended up playing into River’s typical hyper-aggressive behavior, as the masked man took the fight early and often to the Right Reverend. Gross managed to make a comeback, and was the first to attempt a finisher, but that attempt was found wanting. River would get the final laugh with The Offering, and Gross is unable to capitalize on the Daniel Simmons loss as the upsets continue in the Beta Division!

Blood River (5-6) def. Reverend Johnny Gross (8-3) via Pinfall (The Offering) in 13:35.  Rating: **

Changes for Blood River:  OVR + 4.17, XP + 632.48, no notable damage

Changes for Reverend Johnny Gross:  OVR -0.07, XP + 158.12, minor damage to head

GAMMA DIVISION

RdUenQh.jpg (1) Brian Blackfield (8-2, OVR 502)*

vs.

(5) Indigo Rose (4-6, OVR 440) 2X2r9qf.jpg

There are some who will argue that Rose carried Blackfield to a watchable match this week, like Roger Pine of Fightworthy dot com. Then there are others, like the author, who actually watched the match and saw that it actually stood on its own merits as a Match of the Night contender. Rose had a decent string of offense going, but got a little too exuberant and ascended the turnbuckles without a clear step 2 in that plan. Blackfield threw her off the ropes, and he would take control from there. Even when Rose kicked out of a Tartan Effect at 1, Blackfield continued to press the attack, hitting the smaller Rose with the Scotland Destroyer to earn the win and solidify his grip on a second consecutive promotion!

Brian Blackfield (9-2) def. Indigo Rose (4-7) via Pinfall (Scotland Destroyer) in 11:46.  Rating: ***

Changes for Brian Blackfield:  OVR + 5.26, XP + 605.04, minor damage to head

Changes for Indigo Rose:  OVR + 0.73, XP + 151.26, minor damage to head

ALPHA DIVISION

p54rf5F.jpg (3) De'siree Mitchell (7-3, OVR 461)

vs.

(2) Nuclear Templeton (7-3, OVR 472)* FqeSGy6.jpg

First half of the double main event of the evening. Mitchell got some early offense in, but then tried to cover up as Nuclear went on a tear. A desperation knee to the gut dropped Templeton, and a knee dropped immediately busted him open the hard way.  She managed a few more moves, widening the laceration, but Templeton would fight back, regain momentum, and batter Mitchell’s head enough that he only needed one attempt at the Armageddon Lariat to put his opponent down. Templeton finishes the sweep this season, and has thrown down the gauntlet for Brandy to match the feat in the final match of the evening, coming up next!

Nuclear Templeton (8-3) def. De'siree Mitchell (7-4) via Pinfall (Armageddon Lariat) in 12:29.  Rating: **

Changes for Nuclear Templeton:  OVR + 4.11, XP + 728.99, minor damage to head

Changes for De'siree Mitchell:  OVR -0.07, XP + 182.25, moderate damage to head

ALPHA DIVISION

e8cytyP.jpg (6) Mel O'Hallister (4-6, OVR 472)

vs.

(1) Brandy McDonald (8-2, OVR 486)* TxXkh5U.jpg

O’Hallister dominated the first five minutes of this match.  Brandy got a slow start and by the time she recovered, O’Hallister was already thinking of DDTs and piledrivers. However, McDonald is not the reigning League Champion for naught, as she fought back little by little, focusing alternately on the head and the weaker right leg of O’Hallister to claw her way back into the contest.  As she looked for a spear to really press the advantage, she charged right into a forearm shot from O’Hallister, and a powerbomb followed that drove the wind from McDonald. O’Hallister then applied the Irish Clover, really sat on the back of his opponent, and McDonald had little choice but to tap as she was still struggling to breathe after that powerbomb. Nuclear Templeton just got handed an early Christmas present, as now he just needs to get ahead of her in the standings, or remain tied and win the rematch against McDonald in week thirteen to put himself on the cusp of a long-awaited League Championship!

Mel O'Hallister (5-6) def. Brandy McDonald (8-3) via Submission (Irish Clover) in 15:43.  Rating: **

Changes for Mel O'Hallister:  OVR + 4.29, XP + 731.32, no notable damage

Changes for Brandy McDonald:  OVR -0.08, XP + 182.83, moderate damage to head

UPDATED PROMOTION/RELEGATION CHANCES AFTER WEEK ELEVEN

As a reminder, these figures do not take into account tie-breakers. This is all going strictly by wins/losses before the calculus gets brought into play.

ALPHA DIVISION

Championship Race

O'Hallister's upset of McDonald, coupled with Nuclear's defeat of Mitchell, makes this a two-person race with the other two still eligible far, far behind. The top two in the division are the only ones who can win the title undisputed, without having to resort to tie-breakers and the like.

Brandy McDonald: (Week 10) 79.416% -> (Week 11) 62.500%  (Undisputed chances went from 55.591% to 36.328%)

Nuclear Templeton: (Week 10) 36.255% -> (Week 11) 62.500%  (Undisputed chances went from 15.723% to 36.328%)

De'siree Mitchell: (Week 10) 12.427% -> (Week 11) 3.906%

George Mastachas: (Week 10) 1.184% -> (Week 11) 2.344%

Everyone else has been eliminated from championship contention.

Relegation to Beta

Nuclear's win eliminates any chance he had of dropping down by losing every match remaining. With another win, Mitchell and Mastachas will likely join him. Pulsar is guaranteed to finished at least tied for 7th place and so is almost a lock to be relegated.

Pulsar: (Week 10) 99.805% -> (Week 11) 100% to finish tied for 7th or worse.

Big Scott Weathers: (Week 10) 79.434% -> (Week 11) 95.703% to finish tied for 7th or worse.

Mel O'Hallister: (Week 10) 36.758% -> (Week 11) 15.625% to finish tied for 7th or worse.

The Mastodon: (Week 10) 8.774% -> (Week 11) 11.328% to finish tied for 7th or worse.

George Mastachas: (Week 10) 11.246% -> (Week 11) 2.051% to finish tied for 7th or worse.

De'siree Mitchell: (Week 10) 1.843% -> (Week 11) 2.051% to finish tied for 7th or worse.

Brandy McDonald and Nuclear Templeton cannot be relegated.

BETA DIVISION

Promotion to Alpha

What was a two-person race has become two with a long-shot third member. Three people are eliminated from promotion eligibility.

Daniel Simmons: (Week 10) 93.701% -> (Week 11) 91.992% to finish tied for 2nd or better.

Reverend Johnny Gross: (Week 10) 93.701% -> (Week 11) 88.086% to finish tied for 2nd or better.

Billy Norris: (Week 10) 22.803% -> (Week 11) 48.242% to finish tied for 2nd or better.

Jean-Paul Ouilette: (Week 10) 22.803% -> (Week 11) 15.039% to finish tied for 2nd or better.

Blood River: (Week 10) 0.760% -> (Week 11) 1.953% to finish tied for 2nd or better.

Markus Clay, Angela Wassermann, and Terrance Stevens cannot promote this season.

Relegation to Gamma

The top two are the only ones safe, but the race to get into 6th and out of the relegation spot got more interesting after week eleven.

Terrence Stevens: (Week 10) 99.414% -> (Week 11) 99.609% to finish tied for 7th or worse.

Markus Clay: (Week 10) 31.293% -> (Week 11) 63.379% to finish tied for 7th or worse.

Angela Wassermann: (Week 10) 76.773% -> (Week 11) 62.988% to finish tied for 7th or worse.

Blood River: (Week 10) 31.781% -> (Week 11) 20.318% to finish tied for 7th or worse.

Jean-Paul Ouilette: (Week 10) 1.666% -> (Week 11) 5.078% to finish tied for 7th or worse.

Billy Norris: (Week 10) 2.640% -> (Week 11) 0.195% to finish tied for 7th or worse.

Daniel Simmons and Reverend Johnny Gross cannot be relegated.

GAMMA DIVISION

Promotion to Beta

Third-place is making a run, but has some odds to overcome as the leader has all but clinched a promotion berth.

Brian Blackfield: (Week 10) 92.627% -> (Week 11) 98.828% to finish tied for 2nd or better.

Yoshii Nakamatsu: (Week 10) 94.287% -> (Week 11) 88.281% to finish tied for 2nd or better.

Diego Rodriguez: (Week 10) 22.241% -> (Week 11) 38.281% to finish tied for 2nd or better.

Erick Gibson: (Week 10) 24.585% -> (Week 11) 11.328% to finish tied for 2nd or better.

Diamond: (Week 10) 0.781% -> (Week 11) 0.977% to finish tied for 2nd or better.

Indigo Rose, Jun Onoo, and El Tornado cannot promote this season.

Relegation to Gamma

The top three are assured of not dropping into the bottom division. One remains practically assured.

El Tornado: (Week 10) 100% -> (Week 11) 100% to finish tied for 7th or worse.

Indigo Rose: (Week 10) 47.803% -> (Week 11) 60.547% to finish tied for 7th or worse.

Jun Onoo: (Week 10) 47.803% -> (Week 11) 60.547% to finish tied for 7th or worse.

Diamond: (Week 10) 45.581% -> (Week 11) 16.406% to finish tied for 7th or worse.

Erick Gibson: (Week 10) 3.870% -> (Week 11) 3.418% to finish tied for 7th or worse.

Diego Rodriguez joins Brian Blackfield and Yoshii Nakamatsu in the clear of relegation group.

DELTA DIVISION

Promotion to Gamma

Following his loss, last week's second-place claimant has his work cut out for him now, while tow more people have been eliminated from the promotion race.

Lucas Molina: (Week 10) 90.625% -> (Week 11) 99.219% to finish tied for 2nd or better.

Christian Priest: (Week 10) 64.172% -> (Week 11) 88.086% to finish tied for 2nd or better.

Also, schedule update:

I *hope* to post show tomorrow. I’ve been up since 3 am today since the way the plans fell into place, I drove 2.5 hours to deal with the last requests I mentioned upthread, then drove 2.5 hours back home after to get my roommate into bed since he accompanied me for moral support. (Then managed to get my PT session done for a frozen right shoulder and schedule a mental counseling session stemming from the Stairs Incident for this coming Wednesday afternoon. I’ve been productive today!)

If not tomorrow then Sunday for sure.

THE LEAGUE: SEASON NINE, WEEK TWELVE

DELTA DIVISION

 V1I70uc.jpg (8) Jimmy Anarchy (2-9, OVR 435)*

vs.

(7) Lord Robert Abernathy (3-8, OVR 410) 8CXZgHS.jpg

An absolute barnburner to start the show off, many thought after the closing bell that this would be the Match of the Night. The fact that you’re only seeing a summary here should tell you otherwise. This match featured a fair amount of back-and-forth action, a ref bump (via a low blow from Abernathy, mind), two blatant low blow attempts by Anarchy to put Abernathy away while the ref was indisposed, a submission and visual tap that went for nothing as the ref was still down, a Shatterfall countered into a pin attempt right as the ref came to and only managed a two count, and finally a second God Save the Queen that got the tap within sight of the referee. Quite a bit of action packed into just under thirteen minutes, as Abernathy comes away victorious in a brief but highly entertaining contest.

Lord Robert Abernathy (4-8) def. Jimmy Anarchy (2-10) via Submission (God Save the Queen) in 12:50.  Rating: ****

Changes for Lord Robert Abernathy:  OVR + 6.56, XP + 567.19, minor damage to head

Changes for Jimmy Anarchy:  OVR + 1.55, XP + 141.80, minor damage to head

GAMMA DIVISION

2X2r9qf.jpg (7) Indigo Rose (4-7, OVR 440)*

vs.

(8) El Tornado (1-10, OVR 430) LTFF6jR.jpg

After that opening match, anything that followed was sure to be a let-down in quality. Sure enough, this one wasn’t as well-received, but part of that could be chalked up to the quick finish. Barely nine minutes into the contest, Rose stunned Tornado with a women’s DDT and then applied an octopus stretch on the luchador. Tornado simply seemed bewildered by this, unable to get any leverage to move to the ropes, and seemed to reluctantly tap out despite not looking to be in a lot of pain…which to be fair has been rather indicative of his season to date. The loss guarantees that next season he will be in Delta, as he needed three wins and some help to even get out of seventh place.

(Behind the curtain talk: The octopus stretch had a 53 out of 1000 chance to win. Tornado rolled a 41 to escape it. So essentially he rolled a 1 on a 1d20 and anyone who plays D&D knows what happens when you roll a one…)

Indigo Rose (5-7) def. El Tornado (1-11) via Submission (octopus stretch) in 9:29.  Rating: **

Changes for Indigo Rose:  OVR + 3.94, XP + 557.23, no notable damage

Changes for El Tornado:  OVR -0.07, XP + 139.31, no notable damage

DELTA DIVISION

xJrKs53.jpg54miFm6.jpg (6) Devil's Delight (4-7, OVR 416)

vs.

(1) Lucas Molina (9-2, OVR 435)* wtKjCIc.jpg

This went as pretty much everyone expected it to go. A brief hope spot for Delight about seven minutes in, but otherwise this was all Molina. A San Juan Buster put an end to the proceedings. It would take about three matches later for the number wizards to do their calculations, but it was later announced during the show that the win here guarantees promotion for Molina into Gamma, as he would win all possible tiebreaker scenarios. One of the rookies to the League this year is the first overall to punch his ticket into a higher division for season ten!

Lucas Molina (10-2) def. Devil's Delight (4-8) via Pinfall (San Juan Buster) in 13:12.  Rating: **

Changes for Lucas Molina:  OVR + 4.15, XP + 486.34, no notable damage

Changes for Devil's Delight:  OVR -0.07, XP + 121.58, moderate damage to head, minor damage to legs

BETA DIVISION

dTs8j7q.jpgT127n44.jpg (5) Blood River (5-6, OVR 472)*

vs.

(8) Terrance Stevens (2-9, OVR 443) ginc2gw.jpg

The first to even come close to the opening bout of the evening, this was a close match throughout that could have ended any number of times. The turning point came when Stevens knocked both River and himself to the outside with a running clothesline, and seemed about ready to end matters on the floor and take a countout victory. A DDT by Stevens ended up being thwarted by The Acolyte—yes, folks, he actually managed to interfere in a match again!—and River never gave up the offensive attack the remainder of the contest. Eschewing his normal finishers, River instead landed a slingshot moonsault that, with a little assistance from a referee’s slightly quicker count, was enough to keep Stevens down for three. The loss guarantees that he’ll be at best tied for the second-worst record in the division, and in all likelihood spends next season in Gamma.

Blood River (6-6) def. Terrance Stevens (2-10) via Pinfall (slingshot moonsault) in 15:37.  Rating: ***

Changes for Blood River:  OVR + 5.55, XP + 549.25, minor damage to head

Changes for Terrance Stevens:  OVR + 0.77, XP + 171.64, minor damage to head and body

ALPHA DIVISION

 e8cytyP.jpg (6) Mel O'Hallister (5-6, OVR 476)*

vs.

(8) Pulsar (2-9, OVR 442) VfA2MW8.jpg

Pulsar came into this contest with nothing to lose. Even if he won all three of his remaining matches, he’d need either O’Hallister or Mastodon to lose all three of their and then hope tiebreakers went his way. Granted, a win against O’Hallister would help in that endeavor but there was still so much else that needed to go right. All the speculation turned out to be pointless, though, when O’Hallister stormed through what little offense Pulsar could muster and dropped the luchador with a single Dream of the Emerald Isle attempt to seal Pulsar’s fate for this season.

Mel O'Hallister (6-6) def. Pulsar (2-10) via Pinfall (Dream of the Emerald Isle) in 12:31.  Rating: **

Changes for Mel O'Hallister:  OVR + 4.11, XP + 729.01, no notable damage

Changes for Pulsar:  OVR -0.07, XP + 182.25, minor damage to head and legs

BETA DIVISION

ayWv1C3.jpg (3) Billy Norris (7-4, OVR 467)*

vs.

(6) Angela Wassermann (4-7, OVR 445) ZCYwviV.jpg

A must-win for both wrestlers, but for different reasons. Norris needed the win to remain within striking distance of Simmons and Gross atop the division. Wassermann needed this one to keep ahead of Markus Clay at the lower end of the division and thus out of relegation position. The match itself seemed to be stuck in a lower gear, and while Wassermann did land a couple of her trademark Superman punches, she could not get her cross arm breaker applied. Norris had no such trouble with his Down Under Disaster, and that would be the difference-maker on this exchange. Wassermann now needs to hope Clay loses in the next match, or she will find herself in 7th place in the division and at risk for relegation.

Billy Norris (8-4) def. Angela Wassermann (4-8) via Pinfall (Down Under Disaster) in 12:32.  Rating: **

Changes for Billy Norris:  OVR + 4.11, XP + 631.82, minor damage to head

Changes for Angela Wassermann:  OVR -0.07, XP + 157.96, minor damage to head

BETA DIVISION

IgD64Oj.jpg (2) Reverend Johnny Gross (8-3, OVR 462)

vs.

(7) Markus Clay (4-7, OVR 447)* N0Y594C.jpg

Bob Sinclair: Up next is a match that has implications on both ends of the Beta Division, Frankie.

Frankie Garnett: Another one?

Bob Sinclair: That’s the perils of making the schedule at the beginning of the season, Frankie. Sometimes you get a top half wrestler facing one fighting off relegation.

Frankie Garnett: Or multiple times from one division in a single show.

Bob Sinclair: Anyway, Reverend Johnny Gross is looking to get back into the Alpha Division, while on the other side of the ring, Markus Clay is looking to get out of seventh place and relegation to Gamma.

Frankie Garnett: I’m going to guess Gross takes this. He’s determined to get back to the top division, and I think that’ll fend off the desperation of Clay. We’ll see soon enough, though.

Bob Sinclair: Indeed we will, Frankie, as this match gets underway!

Frankie Garnett: Given how much better Gross has done than Clay this season, Bob, I expect that counter to happen in about the next ten seconds.

Frankie Garnett: Still a bit too early for Clay here, but the mental aspect could be just as devastating, Bob. If you have to start worrying about every move that Clay could beat you with, your mind could overload and shut down at the most crucial time.

Bob Sinclair: Indeed, and we’ve seen it happen a few times already this season. It’s not just the powerlifters and technical folks who can be dangerous. Given enough speed and athletic ability to take to the skies, the smaller folks can be just as effective in a match.

Frankie Garnett: Look at the arm of Gross, Bob. Clay’s blood from that laceration is all on Gross’s arm, I think that might have caused him to lose his grip on Clay!

Frankie Garnett: Dead center of the ring, too. Clay’s going to need to get a lucky break again to get out of this one…nope, never mind. Clay just tapped out, he knew there was no escaping it a second time!

Bob Sinclair: Reverend Johnny Gross emerges with the win here, which really helps his chances of returning to the top flight next season. Clay can’t lose hope yet, though.

ALPHA DIVISION

OOiJTFx.jpg (7) Big Scott Weathers (3-8, OVR 458)

vs.

(4) George Mastachas (6-5, OVR 462)* hlph25Q.jpg

Saved from being a squash, but only barely, Mastachas dominated the majority of this match and was never in any sort of danger as he put Weathers down by an explosion suplex followed by his sit-out powerbomb finisher. The loss by Weathers means that if Mastodon can put away Templeton later on, both of the Alpha Division’s relegation spots will be clinched, and we will know who is going to Beta from the upper division, guaranteed.

George Mastachas (7-5) def. Big Scott Weathers (3-9) via Pinfall (Wrath of Zeus) in 14:08.  Rating: **

Changes for George Mastachas:  OVR + 4.20, XP + 730.18, no notable damage

GAMMA DIVISION

0rDaDU8.jpg (5) Diamond (5-6, OVR 455)

vs.

(3) Diego Rodriguez (7-4, OVR 465)* 9wxABJw.jpg

Another important match on either end of a division’s rankings. This was another competitive matchup that couldn’t seem to find a rhythm, and it just didn’t translate to an enjoyable contest. The main story of this match was Rodriguez falling behind early and fighting back to a point where he was able to turn a missed Jawjacker into a Harmony of Dissonance for the submission victory and to remain close to Nakamatsu for the second promotion spot. Meanwhile, Diamond finds herself tied with Indigo Rose, and if Onoo wins it’ll be a three-way time with the person losing both tire-breakers being put in the relegation spot heading into week thirteen. That match, involving both Nakamatsu and Onoo, was happening next!

Diego Rodriguez (8-4) def. Diamond (5-7) via Submission (Harmony of Dissonace) in 14:09.  Rating: **

Changes for Diego Rodriguez:  OVR + 4.20, XP + 559.81, minor damage to head

Changes for Diamond:  OVR -0.07, XP + 139.95, minor damage to head

GAMMA DIVISION

giFlbJV.jpg (2) Yoshii Nakamatsu (8-3, OVR 472)*

vs.

(6) Jun Onoo (4-7, OVR 452) zTBxNBX.jpg

This was never in doubt. Nakamatsu simply squashed Onoo, needing only seven minutes and one attempt at the Emperor’s Fall to do it.  Onoo drops alone into seventh and thus the second relegation spot, now needing to win and get help in order to avoid dropping in two weeks’ time.

Yoshii Nakamatsu (9-3) def. Jun Onoo (4-8) via Pinfall (Emperor’s Fall) in 7:03.  Rating: *

Changes for Yoshii Nakamatsu:  OVR + 2.68, XP + 509.57, no notable damage

Changes for Jun Onoo:  OVR -0.82, XP + 127.39, minor damage to head

DELTA DIVISION

 vz0qqDp.jpg (3) Monty Dhillon (7-4, OVR 473)*

vs.

(5) Sterling Silver (5-6, OVR 461) va4qjuU.jpg

This was a surprise Match of the Night contender, which you’d never have guessed from the opening third of the contest. It wasn’t until some of the bigger moves were being thrown out that things got interesting. Silver’s speed let her get some decent chances at rope-assisted offense, but none of them managed to do the deed. When she went up top for a cross body and had it countered into a spinebuster, though, that took the starch right out of Silver’s sails, and Dhillon wouldn’t squander that opportunity. A move he calls the Blockade Lock, in which the victim is lifted from behind by their arms and forced to take the pressure on the shoulders and elbows was too much for the luchadora, and she had to verbally submit as her hands couldn’t get to a part of her or Dhillon to physically tap out. Dhillon grabs a win but still needs help to sneak back into second place in the division!

Monty Dhillon (8-4) def. Sterling Silver (5-7) via Submission (Blockade Lock) in 9:47.  Rating: ***

Changes for Monty Dhillon:  OVR + 5.12, XP + 525.09, no notable damage

Changes for Sterling Silver:  OVR + 0.71, XP + 131.27, minor damage to head

DELTA DIVISION

AOP9il0.jpgNldKaI4.jpg (2) Christian Priest (8-3, OVR 500)*

vs.

(4) Kichi Hida (6-5, OVR 429) 4ZAKk1I.jpg

This seems to be a pattern, huh? One person needs someone else in the division to have a specific result, and that match happens immediately after? Another blitz of a match in the lowest division, Hida had a chance to hit a Funhouse Stomp but when Priest avoided it, she wouldn’t be given a second chance. It was Priest non-stop in the final two minutes of the bout that sealed the win with a right-handed lariat, and ensures that for another week, he remains in the promotion picture.

Christian Priest (9-3) def. Kichi Hida (6-6) via Pinfall (Canonized) in 7:33.  Rating: **

Changes for Christian Priest:  OVR + 3.83, XP + 483.62, no notable damage

Changes for Kichi Hida:  OVR -0.07, XP + 120.91, minor damage to head

ALPHA DIVISION TABLES MATCH

FqeSGy6.jpg (2) Nuclear Templeton (8-3, OVR 476)*

vs.

(5) The Mastodon (5-6, OVR 462) iLs7NYn.jpg

An absolute must-win for Templeton here heading into the week thirteen showdown with Brandy McDonald, this match would turn out to be a contender for Match of the Night. Both men went toe-to-toe at each other over the opening half of the contest, with neither man giving an inch. It would be Mastodon who metaphorically blinked first, as Templeton slid a table into the ring. He wouldn’t get a chance to use it, though, as Mastodon would counter the offense and then slide the table out to ringside. This happened on three other occasions, so there were plenty of tables at play. When Nuclear went to re-enter the ring after sliding the fifth table he’d introduced into the contest, Mastodon thwarted him and met him on the floor at ringside, looking to put an end to the proceedings then and there.

He never expected Nuclear had been waiting for just that.  A kick to the gut was the only warning Mastodon got before being sent through one of the half-opened tables at ringside with a Radiation Spike. That was all Nuclear needed, and momentum is solidly behind him as he waits to see what happens in our main event tonight.

Nuclear Templeton (9-3) def. The Mastodon (5-7) via Table Break (Radiation Spike) in 16:33.  Rating: ***

Changes for Nuclear Templeton:  OVR + 5.61, XP + 792.91, minor damage to head

Changes for The Mastodon:  OVR + 0.78, XP + 198.23, minor damage to head

BETA DIVISION

AAdEYyr.jpgZThYhej.jpg (4) Jean-Paul Ouilette (6-5, OVR 466)

vs.

(1) Daniel Simmons (8-3, OVR 477)* ha8RmaF.jpg

Ouilette came out at the opening bell like he had something to prove, and but Simmons on the defensive from the start. Simmons would get his shots in here and there, and actually drive Ouilette into trouble first, but the French entertainer would not fold under the pressure this week. Some well-timed reversals and avoidances led to Ouilette dropping Simmons with a single arm DDT, busting him open with some rear crossface shots, before connecting with Le Petit Mort to score the pin over the man who entered the week as the Beta Division leader. Ouilette keeps his chances alive, while Simmons goes from leading the division to the outside looking in from just a single match!

Jean-Paul Ouilette (7-5) def. Daniel Simmons (8-4) via Pinfall (Le Petit Mort) in 12:24.  Rating: **

Changes for Jean-Paul Ouilette:  OVR + 4.1, XP + 631.74, no notable damage

Changes for Daniel Simmons:  OVR -0.07, XP + 157.93, minor damage to head

GAMMA DIVISION

RdUenQh.jpg (1) Brian Blackfield (9-2, OVR 507)

vs.

(4) Erick Gibson (6-5, OVR 454)* xd5Rq8a.jpglimej5G.jpg

Heading into this week, Blackfield remarked to one reporter that he had this match circled on his calendar. This was a revenge match for him. After all, remember, it was Gibson who broke his undefeated streak in the first half of this season. Yet in the opening minutes, it seemed like Gibson had Blackfield’s number again. It took close to five minutes for Blackfield to get anything like sustained offense going, and even then he was fighting from well behind throughout. That all changed about nine minutes deep, when Gibson forgot the one cardinal rule of facing Blackfield and landed a Terminable Offense.

Blackfield stormed back with his adrenaline rush, hitting a Tartan Effect that didn’t even net a two count, and getting Gibson to a point where a Scotland Destroyer could do the trick. Gibson didn’t allow it as the last of Blackfield’s adrenaline faded, but in doing so he forgot about Blackfield’s submission finisher. The tap came moments later, and Blackfield truly earned this victory and his measure of revenge.

Brian Blackfield (10-2) def. Erick Gibson (6-6) via Submission (Highland’s Wrath) in 14:23.  Rating: **

Changes for Brian Blackfield:  OVR + 4.22, XP + 559.94, major damage to head

Changes for Erick Gibson:  OVR -0.07, XP + 139.98, minor damage to head

ALPHA DIVISION

TxXkh5U.jpg (1) Brandy McDonald (8-3, OVR 486)

vs.

(3) De'siree Mitchell (7-4, OVR 461)* p54rf5F.jpg

During pre-match introductions, the cameras cut to Nuclear watching from the locker room, his eyes fixed squarely on the monitor in front of him and paying no attention to the camera crew in the room. The match itself was competitive, but the ending surely knocked the rating down a level. Sixteen minutes deep, both women were nearing the point where a finisher could end the match at any time. McDonald, looking for a moment to regain her wits, drove Mitchell outside the ring with a blindside high knee, and then hit her with a double axe handle from the top to the floor. The ref started his count, and was up to about seven when McDonald stunned Mitchell with a Brandy With a Twist. Hearing the ref reach eight, McDonald did something rather uncharacteristic of her, and simply slid into the ring, backing into one of the far corners. Mitchell had only just started to stir when the count hit ten, and in a bit of controversial fashion, McDonald gets her return win over Mitchell, and now has Templeton next week in a match that could well determine to who League Champion is for Season Nine!

(Behind the curtain speak: I think there’s an order of operations thing wrong here with the chance to win the match after that finisher. Sure, everything got reduced to 990 like it’s supposed to, but then the bonus for an advanced count was applied, and McDonald had a 1089 out of 1000 chance to win after the finisher on the outside. I’m not quite sure that’s how it is intended to work, but this seems to be a niche case that it may never have been caught. So McDonald wins on a technicality, essentially, and I’m left scratching my head since that’s the second or third time I’ve seen this happen in The League, with a chance to win via countout greater than the roll you can have on the dice.)

Brandy McDonald (9-3) def. De'siree Mitchell (7-5) via Countout (Brandy With a Twist) in 18:25.  Rating: **

Changes for Brandy McDonald:  OVR + 3.40, XP + 733.26, minor damage to head

Changes for De'siree Mitchell:  OVR -0.08, XP + 183.32, minor damage to head

UPDATED PROMOTION/RELEGATION CHANCES AFTER WEEK TWELVE

As a reminder, these figures do not take into account tie-breakers. This is all going strictly by wins/losses before the calculus gets brought into play, unless noted by me (where I’ve already looked at the tiebreakers to determine things).

ALPHA DIVISION

Championship Race

It’s now a two-person race and there’s a better-than-half chance that the League Championship is decided this week.  Here’s how it breaks down:

Brandy McDonald clinches League Championship with: win vs. Templeton.  That’s it. A win would give her a 2-0 season sweep over Nuclear, and thus the guaranteed tiebreaker. If Brandy wins in week 13, she repeats as League Champ.

Nuclear Templeton clinches League Championship with: win vs. McDonald that’s faster than 18:39.  If Nuclear wins, the season series is split 1-1, and we go to victory time against each other. McDonald won in 18:39. Even if Nuclear matched that to the second, the third step in tiebreaking is overall average victory time, which as I write this is about two and a half minutes faster in favor of Nuclear (14:46 vs. 17:01). While solid, it’s not a guarantee. The only guarantee is to win in 18:38 or less. If Nuclear does that, he clinches the League Championship off the head-to-head victory time.

League Championship remains undecided if: Nuclear wins in 18:39 or longer.  While matching the time would likely work in Nuclear’s favor (see above), it’s not a guarantee.  Winning in 18:40 or longer pushes the decision to week 14, and Nuclear would have to win, or have McDonald lose, to clinch in the final week as otherwise, Brandy would win the tiebreaker.

It should come as no surprise that the Nuclear/Brandy match will be the main event of week 13 given what’s been outlined above.

Relegation to Beta

The math says that Mastodon has a 6.25% chance of tying for seventh. However, that’s irrelevant as he holds the tiebreaker over Weathers in head-to-head victory time (Mastodon won in 23:58, Weathers in 24:50). So the bottom two are already decided in the Alpha Division—both Pulsar and Weathers will be in Beta for season ten.

BETA DIVISION

Promotion to Alpha

Five people remain mathematically alive in the race to replace Pulsar and Weathers. A big factor in that race will be third-to-last match of the night in week thirteen, as Norris and Gross face off. A Norris win makes the three-way tiebreaker interesting as Norris, Gross, and Daniel Simmons will all be 2-2 against each other, forcing the victory time into the equation.

Reverend Johnny Gross: (Week 10) 93.701% -> (Week 11) 88.086%  -> (Week 12) 96.875% to finish tied for 2nd or better. Loses individual tiebreaker to Simmons; tiebreaker vs. Norris and three-way breaker to be determined after this week. Clinches promotion with win vs. Norris in week thirteen.

Daniel Simmons: (Week 10) 93.701% -> (Week 11) 91.992% -> (Week 12) 73.438% to finish tied for 2nd or better. Wins individual tiebreaker vs. Gross, loses to Norris.

Billy Norris: (Week 10) 22.803% -> (Week 11) 48.242% -> 70.313% to finish tied for 2nd or better. Wins individual tiebreaker vs. Simmons, tiebreaker vs. Gross and three-way breaker to be determined after this week.

Jean-Paul Ouilette: (Week 10) 22.803% -> (Week 11) 15.039% -> (Week 12) 20.313% to finish tied for 2nd or better.

Blood River: (Week 10) 0.760% -> (Week 11) 1.953% -> (Week 12) 3.125% to finish tied for 2nd or better.

Relegation to Gamma

Realistically this is a three-person fight, and one is almost a lock.

Terrence Stevens: (Week 10) 99.414% -> (Week 11) 99.609% -> (Week 12) 100% to finish tied for 7th or worse. Can win tiebreaker over Wassermann this week, loses breaker to Clay, is very unlikely to win three-way breaker. Clinches relegation to Gamma with loss vs. Wassermann in week thirteen.

Markus Clay: (Week 10) 31.293% -> (Week 11) 63.379% -> (Week 12) 68.750% to finish tied for 7th or worse. Loses tiebreaker to Wassermann (was swept head-to-head), wins tiebreaker vs. Stevens (won both matches this season). Must finish with more wins than Wassermann to escape promotion.

Angela Wassermann: (Week 10) 76.773% -> (Week 11) 62.988% -> (Week 12) 68.750% to finish tied for 7th or worse. Has tiebreaker over Clay (won both matches this season), currently losing breaker to Stevens (can win if victorious in under 28:42). Avoids relegation with two wins, two losses by Clay, or one win + one Clay loss.

Blood River: (Week 10) 31.781% -> (Week 11) 20.318% -> (Week 12) 1.563% to finish tied for 7th or worse. This would be a three-way tie at 6-8 between him, Wassermann, and Clay. Wassermann would win the three-way tiebreaker, and River wins the individual one over Clay by 26 seconds. Therefore, River cannot be relegated this season.

GAMMA DIVISION

Promotion to Beta

Only three people can promote, and the current leader still has a chance of missing out at the end!

Brian Blackfield: (Week 10) 92.627% -> (Week 11) 98.828% -> (Week 12) 100% to finish tied for 2nd or better. Blackfield and Nakamatsu face off in week fourteen. The important bit, though, is that Blackfield loses the individual tiebreaker to Diego Rodriguez by a minute and nineteen seconds. So it is entirely possible for Nakamatsu to go 11-3, Blackfield and Rodriguez to tie for second at 10-4, and Blackfield loses the promotion due to tiebreakers. Clinches promotion to Gamma with win vs. Diamond in week thirteen.

Yoshii Nakamatsu: (Week 10) 94.287% -> (Week 11) 88.281% -> (Week 12) 93.750% to finish tied for 2nd or better. Nakamatsu faces Blackfield in week fourteen, so head-to-head and three-way breakers are still to be determined. Holds tiebreaker over Rodriguez (won both matches this season).

Diego Rodriguez: (Week 10) 22.241% -> (Week 11) 38.281% -> (Week 12) 34.375% to finish tied for 2nd or better. Wins individual tiebreaker vs. Blackfield (via victory time), loses tiebreaker to Nakamatsu (lost both matches). Three-way tiebreaker pending week 14 results.

Relegation to Delta

Five people remain mathematically in the danger zone, with one already guaranteed to drop.

El Tornado: Has already secured relegation into Delta next season.

Jun Onoo: (Week 10) 47.803% -> (Week 11) 60.547% -> (Week 12) 84.375% to finish tied for 7th or worse. Finishes the season against Gibson and Rose, who are both in the danger zone. Currently has tiebreaker over Rose, loses tiebreaker to Diamond (lost both matches this season) Clinches relegation with loss vs. Gibson AND win by Rose in week thirteen.

Indigo Rose: (Week 10) 47.803% -> (Week 11) 60.547% -> (Week 12) 34.375% to finish tied for 7th or worse. Loses tiebreaker to Gibson (lost both matches), currently losing tiebreaker to Onoo, wins tiebreaker vs. Diamond (won both matches).

Diamond: (Week 10) 45.581% -> (Week 11) 16.406% -> (Week 12) 25.000% to finish tied for 7th or worse. Of those still able to escape relegation, Diamond is the only one who has finished competing against everyone, sporting a 4-2 combined record against them. She won both matches (and thus owns the tiebreaker) against Gibson and Onoo, but loses tiebreaker to Rose for the same reason.

Erick Gibson: (Week 10) 3.870% -> (Week 11) 3.418% -> (Week 12) 4.688% to finish tied for 7th or worse. Loses tiebreaker to Diamond (lost both matches), wins tiebreaker against Rose (won both matches), pending results vs. Onoo.

DELTA DIVISION

Promotion to Gamma

The race is on to see who claims the second spot. One has already been decided.

Lucas Molina: Clinched promotion with win in Week Twelve.  He wins the three-way tiebreaker (3-1 combined vs. Priest and Dhillon), the individual breaker vs. Dhillon (won both matches), and individual breaker vs. Priest (by virtue of a six-and-a-half-minute victory time difference). As such, he cannot drop below second place in the division (Priest could go 11-3, Molina and Dhillon tie at 10-4 but Molina wins the tiebreaker), and as such clinches promotion to Gamma next season.

Christian Priest: (Week 10) 64.172% -> (Week 11) 88.086% -> (Week 12) 93.750% to finish tied for 2nd or better. Loses tiebreaker to Dhillon. Clinches promotion with win vs. Anarchy AND Dhillon loss to Delight in week thirteen.

Monty Dhillon: (Week 10) 65.735% -> (Week 11) 36.328% -> (Week 12) 32.813% to finish tied for 2nd or better. Wins tiebreaker vs. Priest (won both matches this season).

SHADOWED'S WEEK THIRTEEN PREDICTIONS

Alpha: Nuclear, Mitchell, O'Hallister, Mastodon. (Yes, Nuclear is 0-3 lifetime against McDonald, but if he's ever going to pull one out of the hat, this would be the time for it!) BONUS PREDICTION: Nuclear wins but does not clinch the championship after a 21-minute, *** match and has to fight to win it next week.

Beta: Gross, Ouilette, Simmons, Stevens

Gamma: Blackfield, Nakamatsu, Onoo, Rodriguez

Delta: Priest, Molina, Dhillon, Silver

Orange light filters through boarded up windows as the sound of flesh smacking flesh can be heard over and over again.  Sounds of pain ring out, words are coughed out along with teeth as Nuclear "trains" for the biggest match of The League's season to date.  His friends move in shadow, briefly blocking the shafts of light coming from outside as they whisper to each other and breathe smoke into the old gym's gloomy atmosphere.  The pounding of meat eventually stops and Nuclear walks away from his sparring partner who lays prone on the exposed floorboards....

... there is a note with some names.  And clearly these notes are coming from a source who has given every piece of information they are ever going to give.

THE LEAGUE: SEASON NINE, WEEK THIRTEEN

DELTA DIVISION

8CXZgHS.jpg (6) Lord Robert Abernathy (4-8, OVR 416)

vs.

(5) Sterling Silver (5-7, OVR 462)* va4qjuU.jpg

Nothing to really write about in the opening match. It was practically a squash that saw Abernathy get out-hustled and completely overrun by the luchadora. A top rope cross body, assisted with a slightly fast count from the official, put an end to the proceedings.

Sterling Silver (6-7) def. Lord Robert Abernathy (4-9) via Pinfall (top rope cross body press) in 8:46.  Rating: *

Changes for Sterling Silver:  OVR + 2.75, XP + 443.86, no notable damage

Changes for Lord Robert Abernathy:  OVR -0.84, XP + 110.96, minor damage to head

BETA DIVISION

ginc2gw.jpg (8) Terrance Stevens (2-10, OVR 444)*

vs.

(6) Angela Wassermann (4-8, OVR 445) ZCYwviV.jpg

One of the only high points this season for Stevens was his win over Wassermann in the first half. He surprised a lot of people in showing that was not a fluke as he controlled this match for the most part, never really getting into danger as Wassermann could not seem to get any sustained offense going. A spear from Stevens only netted two, and that was followed by a Maple Leaf Meltdown that also only got two…but to Stevens’ credit he didn’t argue, hitting Wassermann immediately with a second superkick and this time keeping her down for three.  Stevens sweeps the season series, with two-thirds of his wins this season coming from a single opponent!

Terrance Stevens (3-10) def. Angela Wassermann (4-9) via Pinfall (Maple Leaf Meltdown) in 12:56.  Rating: **

Changes for Terrance Stevens:  OVR + 4.13, XP + 632.07, no notable damage

Changes for Angela Wassermann:  OVR -0.07, XP + 158.02, minor damage to head

GAMMA DIVISION

 LTFF6jR.jpg (z-8) El Tornado (1-11, OVR 430)

vs.

(3) Diego Rodriguez (8-4, OVR 469)* 9wxABJw.jpg

While a bit more competitive than the previous two bouts, this one still was lacking in excitement. Tornado had an early advantage that he squandered after missing a Tornado Splash, and Rodriguez would seize that opportunity. The Discordant Melody ensured that Tornado would not pick up his second win of the season this week.

Diego Rodriguez (9-4) def. El Tornado (1-12) via Submission (Discordant Melody) in 13:40.  Rating: **

Changes for Diego Rodriguez:  OVR + 4.17, XP + 559.54, minor damage to head

Changes for El Tornado:  OVR -0.07, XP + 139.89, minor damage to head

ALPHA DIVISION

VfA2MW8.jpg (z-8) Pulsar (2-10, OVR 442)

vs.

(6) The Mastodon (5-7, OVR 463)* iLs7NYn.jpg

An early contender for Match of the Night, this one went back and forth in a rather quick manner. Pulsar had Mastodon trying to fend off attacks from two or three vectors that were constantly changing, but went aerial one time too many. A missed springboard senton bomb led to a cover that Mastodon likely made to force the much smaller man to exert energy to kick out of. Instead, the cover netted a three count, and led to Pulsar’s eleventh loss of the season. It may be to his benefit after all to drop into Beta next season, given how much he’s struggled in this one.

The Mastodon (6-7) def. Pulsar (2-11) via Pinfall (missed springboard senton bomb) in 11:24.  Rating: ***

Changes for The Mastodon:  OVR + 5.24, XP + 788.89, minor damage to head

Changes for Pulsar:  OVR + 0.73, XP + 197.22, no notable damage

DELTA DIVISION

xJrKs53.jpg54miFm6.jpg (7) Devil's Delight (4-8, OVR 416)

vs.

(3) Monty Dhillon (8-4, OVR 478)* vz0qqDp.jpg

Even with her sister running interference, Delight stood no chance on this night. A total squash, Dhillon cruised to a submission victory with just a single attempt at the Blockade Lock needed to keep the pressure on Christian Priest.

Monty Dhillon (9-4) def. Devil's Delight (4-9) via Submission (Blockade Lock) in 5:49.  Rating: *

Changes for Monty Dhillon:  OVR + 2.63, XP + 442.56, no notable damage

Changes for Devil's Delight:  OVR -0.80, XP + 88.51, no notable damage

DELTA DIVISION

wtKjCIc.jpg (x-1) Lucas Molina (10-2, OVR 439)*

vs.

(4) Kichi Hida (6-6, OVR 429) 4ZAKk1I.jpg

This was nearly a squash. By the time Hida got any sort of recognizable offense in, she’d had to counter Molina’s submission finisher at least three times and his other finisher twice. This would not bode well in terms of her immediate future, and the results showed this as Molina kept plugging away at his opponent, finally applying the Molina Bodylock for the quick tap as Hida knew she was outclassed on this occasion. While Molina was already guaranteed to be promoted, the win secures bragging rights for him as well as he has clinched the Delta Division championship for season nine with the victory.

Lucas Molina (11-2) def. Kichi Hida (6-7) via Submission (Molina Bodylock) in 10:27.  Rating: **

Changes for Lucas Molina:  OVR + 3.99, XP + 485.02, no notable damage

Changes for Kichi Hida:  OVR -0.07, XP + 121.25, minor damage to head and legs

GAMMA DIVISION

limej5G.jpgxd5Rq8a.jpg (4) Erick Gibson (6-6, OVR 454)

vs.

(7) Jun Onoo (4-8, OVR 451)* zTBxNBX.jpg

Another early Match of the Night contender, this one was a lot closer than many thought it had a right to be. It’s also not often that you find someone who wears out faster than Gibson, but Onoo was up to that particular task, becoming heavily winded around the ten-minute mark. Granted, Gibson hit that point soon after himself, but not before he knocked Onoo loopy with a Terminable Offense that kept the larger man down for the count of three. Gibson avenges his loss earlier in the season, and the writing seems to be on the metaphorical wall now for Onoo.

Erick Gibson (7-6) def. Jun Onoo (4-9) via Pinfall (Terminable Offense) in 11:36.  Rating: ***

Changes for Erick Gibson:  OVR + 5.25, XP + 604.94, minor damage to head

Changes for Jun Onoo:  OVR + 0.73, XP + 151.23, moderate damage to head

GAMMA DIVISION

giFlbJV.jpg (2) Yoshii Nakamatsu (9-3, OVR 474)*

vs.

(5) Indigo Rose (5-7, OVR 444) 2X2r9qf.jpg

Saved from being a squash by Rose’s ability to find counters or escapes to a number of offensive attempts by Nakamatsu, this ended up going the way everyone expected it to in the end. Rose simply could not find enough offense to counter the high-impact onslaught from Nakamatsu, and the Nakamatsu Driver made a rare appearance to end the contest, and the first half of this week’s schedule.

Yoshii Nakamatsu (10-3) def. Indigo Rose (5-8) via Pinfall (Nakamatsu Driver) in 16:24.  Rating: **

Changes for Yoshii Nakamatsu:  OVR + 4.33, XP + 561.05, no notable damage

Changes for Indigo Rose:  OVR -0.08, XP + 140.26, majpr damage to head

BETA DIVISION

N0Y594C.jpg (7) Markus Clay (4-8, OVR 449)

vs.

(3) Daniel Simmons (8-4, OVR 477)* ha8RmaF.jpg

The second half of the show opened with a Match of the Night contender. Simmons came into the contest with a workhorse mindset; focus on getting the job done and get to next week with a chance to earn promotion. Clay made that difficult with all of his aerial shenanigans, but after a Clay cross body press was counted by a shoulder tackle from Simmons, it was academic from that point. Simmons would eventually apply the ankle lock for the submission victory, leaving Clay in severe risk heading into the final week of the season.

Daniel Simmons (9-4) def. Markus Clay (4-9) via Submission (Quitting Time) in 15:06.  Rating: ***

Changes for Daniel Simmons:  OVR + 5.51, XP + 686.21, minor damage to head

Changes for Markus Clay:  OVR + 0.76, XP + 171.55, moderate damage to head

ALPHA DIVISION

e8cytyP.jpg (5) Mel O'Hallister (6-6, OVR 480)

vs.

(z-7) Big Scott Weathers (3-9, OVR 458)* OOiJTFx.jpg

A perfectly average bout, O’Hallister set this one up perfectly, with two applications of the Boston crab earlier in the contest. Weathers got some offense in to counter but off a DDT, O’Hallister went to the legs again and Weathers thought another crab was in order. Instead, O’Hallister converted it into the Irish Clover, and Weathers was too put off by this turn of events that he tapped out. From struggling in the early part of the season, O’Hallister has gone on to guarantee at least an even record in his first full season in the Alpha Division.

Mel O'Hallister (7-6) def. Big Scott Weathers (3-10) via Submission (Irish Clover) in 15:17.  Rating: **

Changes for Mel O'Hallister:  OVR + 4.27, XP + 731, no notable damage

Changes for Big Scott Weathers:  OVR -0.08, XP + 182.75, minor damage to head

DELTA DIVISION

MZ2VDcB.jpgYICOeYe.jpg (2) Christian Priest (9-3, OVR 504)*

vs.

 (8) Jimmy Anarchy (2-10, OVR 436) V1I70uc.jpg

****No, you’re not seeing things. Those are new renders for Priest and Pastor Richards, courtesy of Croquemitaine!****

Bob Sinclair: Back to the Delta Division we go now, and a chance for Christian Priest to control his own fate. A win here puts him in the driver’s seat for promotion out of Delta alongside Lucas Molina. A loss, and he falls to third in the division by way of tiebreakers, as Monty Dhillon would then be in control of the second transfer spot.

Frankie Garnett: You know, Bob, I originally preferred last season’s format of one transfer spot at either end of a division. Made it a lot easier to sort out and far less of a headache to predict. But the two transfer spots rule has certainly made things a little more interesting!

Bob Sinclair: It’s certainly given more people something to fight for at the end of a season, Frankie. But let’s turn our attention to the ring here as both men are ready to start. The bell sounds, and the last Delta Division bout for week thirteen is underway!

Bob Sinclair: You mentioned before the transfer spot rule, Frankie. What about the change in mentalities for each division, and how each one has a slightly different pace?

Frankie Garnett: It’s made each division feel slightly different, Bob.  I mean, I know The League has to stick to a sort of unified ruleset so you don’t suddenly have one division where you can be DQed on an eye poke or the like, but the faster pace of a Gamma or Delta Division match compared to the Alpha and Beta Divisions has been a welcome change and I think should stick around longer.

Bob Sinclair: And what about the Ome—

Frankie Garnett: Whoa, whoa, whoa! Ixnay on that, Bob. What we have here is enough!

A win next week and he promotes to Gamma!

Frankie Garnett: Who does he have next week?

Bob Sinclair: Devil’s Delight.

Frankie Garnett: Oh, well then you may as well make it official now. I see no way that Delight manages to derail Priest next week and bring the Delta Division to a sudden stop. None whatsoever!

Christian Priest (10-3) def. Jimmy Anarchy (2-11) via Submission (Martyrdom) in 10:37.  Rating: ****

Changes for Christian Priest:  OVR + 6.36, XP + 665.95, minor damage to head

Changes for Jimmy Anarchy:  OVR + 1.51, XP + 241.49, no notable damage

This was the Match of the Night (7 [4 this season] for Christian Priest, 3 [1 this season] for Jimmy Anarchy)

ALPHA DIVISION

p54rf5F.jpg (3) De'siree Mitchell (7-5, OVR 461)*

vs.

(4) George Mastachas (7-5, OVR 466) hlph25Q.jpg

This match would likely determine who the third-place finisher in the top flight would be this season. Yet it never seemed to feel that way as this ended up being just an average bout that could have gone in either direction. Mastachas simply had the better sustained offense and that was the difference, eventually catching Mitchell off guard with a head drop suplex that stunned the former nose tackle long enough to get a count of three.  From being in contention for the League Championship two weeks ago, Mitchell has started to slide, and it’s likely she will be thankful to see this season come to an end given recent performance.

George Mastachas (8-5) def. De'siree Mitchell (7-6) via Pinfall (dangerous head drop suplex) in 14:23.  Rating: **

Changes for George Mastachas:  OVR + 4.22, XP + 730.36, minor damage to head

Changes for De'siree Mitchell:  OVR -0.07, XP + 182.59, moderate damage to head

BETA DIVISION

dTs8j7q.jpgT127n44.jpg (5) Blood River (6-6, OVR 478)

vs.

(4) Jean-Paul Ouilette (7-5, OVR 470)* ZThYhej.jpgAAdEYyr.jpg

This was a Match of the Night contender, and rightfully so. A real close, real competitive match that saw both men stick to their strengths—Ouilette and the striking game, River with his aerial offense. The major factor in this one turned out to be River’s no-holding-back style of aerial offense that hurt him as much as Ouilette at times. A missed slingshot guillotina led to Le Petit Mort, which River kicked out of right after the count of two. Ouilette seemed incensed at this and dropped River with a DDT before a second Le Petit Mort put the alleged cultist down for three.  Ouilette scores a win, ensuring a winning record for the season, in a match that could easily have gone the other way.

Jean-Paul Ouilette (8-5) def. Blood River (6-7) via Pinfall (Le Petit Mort) in 17:06.  Rating: ***

Changes for Jean-Paul Ouilette:  OVR + 5.65, XP + 687.56, no notable changes

Changes for Blood River:  OVR + 0.78, XP + 171.89, minor damage to head and body.

BETA DIVISION

ayWv1C3.jpg (2) Billy Norris (8-4, OVR 471)

vs.

(1) Reverend Johnny Gross (9-3, OVR 470)* IgD64Oj.jpg

Another Match of the Night contender, both Daniel Simmons and Jean-Paul Ouilette were watching this one closely. Very close, very even for the opening ten or twelve minutes as neither competitor could get any sort of sustained offense going. When Norris got rushed on a springboard moonsault attempt, that gave Gross the opening to finally get some decent offense in, and that would ultimately prove to be the difference-maker in this contest. Norris wasn;t able to string together offense in a single sustained burst like Gross did there, and that would eventually lead to the dragon sleeper and the submission, as Gross guarantees himself a trip back to the top flight after a season in Beta!

Reverend Johnny Gross (10-3) def. Billy Norris (8-5) via Submission (Come to Jesus) in 16:07.  Rating: ***

Changes for Reverend Johnny Gross:  OVR + 5.58, XP + 686.89, minor damage to head

RdUenQh.jpg (1) Brian Blackfield (10-2, OVR 511)*

vs.

(6) Diamond (5-7, OVR 455) 0rDaDU8.jpg

The cooldown match between the two biggest bouts of the evening, this one was surprisingly close for the most part. Blackfield had an early advantage, Diamond fought back into the match and with a few more moves would have had Blackfield in position to end things, but she got too caught up in avoiding the Highland’s Wrath that a simple full nelson legsweep was enough to finish the job. The win marks a second straight promotion for Brian Blackfield, as he follows his undefeated season in Delta with a promotion to Beta. The man many have come to call The League’s “Juggernaut” looks to be riding that momentum to new heights next season!

Brian Blackfield (11-2) def. Diamond (5-8) via Pinfall (full nelson legsweep) in 13:37.  Rating: **

Changes for Brian Blackfield:  OVR + 4.17, XP + 559.52, no notable damage

Changes for Diamond:  OVR -0.07, XP + 139.88, minor damage to head

ALPHA DIVISION

FqeSGy6.jpg (2) Nuclear Templeton (9-3, OVR 482)

vs.

(1) Brandy McDonald (9-3, OVR 489)* TxXkh5U.jpg

For these two competitors, next week was irrelevant at the moment. Only the here and now. Brandy wins, she repeats as League Champion. Nuclear wins, and does it fast enough, he finally achieves the goal he’s been seeking for nine seasons. If he wins but isn’t fast enough, then next week would be a relevant factor. Totally a “big fight feel” in The Aerie as senior League official Jacob Smalls called for the bell to get this underway.

Sadly, that would be the only time in this match that a big fight feel could be had.  After the bell, Nuclear stormed out with an offensive flurry the likes of which The League had not seen from him before. By the time Brandy got any sort of sustained offense in, several minutes had passed, and Nuclear did not give her a chance to build up a huge head of steam. It took but one attempt at the Armageddon Lariat to connect, and a few seconds later, Nuclear finally had his first win against McDonald in two seasons.

Was it fast enough? No one in the arena knew save for the timekeeper at first. The television broadcast had a timer in the corner so the home audience already knew.  Nuclear stared daggers at the timekeeper’s table, where said timekeeper (being about a hundred and five pounds soaking wet) squeaked and hastily turned around the digital timer she keeps at ringside that’s linked to the bell. So the ultimate answer. Was Nuclear successful?

With a margin of about five minutes to spare, yes.

In what was deemed a thoroughly one-sided bout, Nuclear finally slays the ghosts of his past, and the demon of his present in McDonald, and week thirteen ends amidst a smattering of boos and jeers in the physically-present crowd with the proclamation he has been waiting almost a decade to hear at this point. “Your winner, and…NEW…League Champion…NUCLEAR TEMPLETON!”

Nuclear Templeton (10-3) def. Brandy McDonald (9-4) via Pinfall (Armageddon Lariat) in 13:48.  Rating: *

Changes for Nuclear Templeton:  OVR + 2.95, XP + 669.11, no notable damage

Changes for Brandy McDonald:  OVR -0.90, XP + 167.28, minor damage to head

PROMOTION/RELEGATION SCENARIOS ENTERING THE FINAL WEEK OF SEASON NINE

ALPHA DIVISION

All relevant positions in the top flight have been settled. Nuclear has clinched the championship, Weathers and Pulsar are locked for relegation. This is the easiest division to write about since it's all done.

BETA DIVISION

Promotion into Alpha/Division Title:

Reverend Johnny Gross has clinched a promotion spot. He wins the Beta Division title with a win OR a Simmons loss.

Daniel Simmons clinches promotion with a win. He wins the Beta Division title with a win AND a Gross loss.

Jean-Paul Ouilette clinches promotion with a win AND Simmons loss. (He holds tiebreakers individually over Simmons and Norris, as well as the three-way tiebreaker, so the Norris result does not matter to him.)

Billy Norris clinches promotion with win AND Simmons loss AND Ouilette loss. (Norris can only win a tiebreaker against Simmons individually.)

Relegation into Gamma

Terrance Stevens has already clinched relegation.

Markus Clay is relegated with loss OR Wassermann win.

Angela Wassermann is relegated with loss AND Clay win.

GAMMA DIVISION

Promotion into Beta/Division Title

The top two face each other this week so this makes it a little easier.

Brian Blackfield has clinched promotion. Earns division title with win.

Yoshii Nakamatsu has also clinched promotion, as I did not do all the calculus before I posted the show on Saturday. (He swept Rodriguez this season to claim a potential tiebreaker.) Wins division title if victorious in under 9:57.

Relegation into Delta

El Tornado has clinched relegation.

Jun Onoo is relegated with loss. He is also relegated with win AND Diamond loss. (In that scenario, it's a three-way tiebreaker and unless Onoo wins in roughly 5:40, that tiebreaker goes to Rose. He then loses head-to-head against Diamond to put him in 7th place.)

Indigo Rose is relegated with loss (Onoo wins) AND Diamond win.  (This scenario would put Rose and Onoo in a tie for 6th. Onoo would have swept the series, putting Rose into 7th and thus into relegation.)

Diamond holds individual tiebreaker over Onoo, and cannot be relegated. (If Rose wins and Diamond does not, Diamond won both matches against Onoo this season and so wins the tiebreaker. See Onoo's entry above for a three-way tiebreaker breakdown.)

DELTA DIVISION

Promotion into Gamma/Division Title

Lucas Molina has already clinched the Delta Division title and promotion.

Christian Priest clinches promotion with win OR Dhillon loss.

Monty Dhillon clinches promotion with win AND Priest loss. (He holds the season sweep over Priest and thus the tiebreaker.)

SHADOWED'S PREDICTIONS FOR WEEK FOURTEEN

ALPHA: O'Hallister, McDonald, Mitchell, Mastachas

BETA: River, Gross, Simmons, Ouilette

GAMMA: Blackfield, Rodriguez, Onoo, Diamond

DELTA: Molina, Priest, Dhillon, Hida
