RAMPAGE
Wednesday, week 1, July 2024
Broadcast on Friday, week 1, July 2024
Toyota Arena, Ontario, California (10,500 capacity)
Announce team: Chris Jericho & Excalibur

Rampage starts as usual with Renee Paquette backstage. She is with Powerhouse Hobbs and she asks him about tonight’s main event against Ethan Page… Hobbs says he feels like he has something to prove as he has been over looked for way to long in AEW… and he’s going to start by breaking Ethan Page’s back tonight. 53

The Kingdom (with Adam Cole, Roderick Strong and Wardlow) v Gates of Agony

An OK match and one where The Kingdom were in control for most of it, even without the usual shenanigans of their Undisputed Kingdom stable mates at ringside. It came as a surprise then when Gates of Agony chalked up the win in 8:07 when Kaun submitted Bennett. 53

Backstage and Trinity is seen with Rosemary, where Trinity challenges Rosemary to a match next week. Rosemary says she and her friends will see her next week… while never explaining who her friends are. 58

OWEN HART FOUNDATION MEN’S TOURNAMENT SECOND ROUND
Chuck Taylor v Colt Cabana

Mostly even, Taylor perhaps shaded it like many expected. So it is perhaps the second surprise of the night when Cabana advance to round three in 8:55 by submission with a Boston Crab. 52

We return to Renee Paquette, who’s guest is now Ethan Page. She asks him for his response to Powerhouse Hobbs’ comments earlier… Page says he doesn’t think Hobbs knows who he is in the ring with tonight… he’s in there with All Ego… one of the best wrestlers around and not somebody who will easily be out powered by some muscular freak. 63

Athena v Mercedes Martinez (with Konnan, Diamanté, Tay Melo and Thunder Rosa)

A really solid match and one where it was really even throughout, despite the constant threat of (and occasionally actual) distraction of LAX at ringside. This slight edge allowed Martinez to earn the win in 10:41 by pinfall with a Fisherman’s Buster. 61 – match of the night
Both Athena and Martinez rated 60
Athena and Martinez have pretty good chemistry
Athena benefitted from being in amazing form

For the final time tonight we go backstage and this time we see Dark Order challenge Best Friends to a match next week on Rampage, which is accepted. Is it ever refused? 45

PowerhouseHobbs(2).jpg.57ec061503685292b9dea39e07a56718.jpg v EthanPage14.jpg.b18d9c56e065153a2c559426d65a241c.jpg
Powerhouse Hobbs v Ethan Page (with Scorpio Sky)
Poor. The main event was the worst match of the main card and if either man were trying to prove something to AEW management, they didn’t. Which is a shame for Page because he had a decent match with Daniel Garcia only two weeks ago. Hobbs won in 11:43 by pinfall with, of all things, a Frog Splash. 45
Hobbs 42, Page 43
Hobbs and Page don’t click and it showed

Show rating: 52
Attendance: 7,458
TV rating: 0.07 (57,520 viewers and 85,853 overall)

PRE SHOW
Angelo Parker & Matt Menard beat Iron Savages in 7:10 when Parker pinned Bronson wth a Sweet Taste of Professionalism. 49

COLLISION
Saturday, week 1, July 2024
Galen Center, Los Angeles, California (10,258 capacity)
Announcers: Nigel McGuinness and Tony Schiavone

We start the show with Steve Austin in the locker room with his Blood & Guts team of Kenny Omega, Drew Galloway and Eddie Kingston. Mark Briscoe is also with them... Austin thanks Briscoe for helping his men on Dynamite fight off The Elite while he was handling Chief of Staff business... he says Mark Briscoe is one of the toughest S.O.Bs he's ever met... and he wants his toughness... his brutality in Blood & Guts... Briscoe immediately says yes, telling Austin it would be an honour to represent the toughest S.O.B. of all time... the two shake hands and Austin says he has an idea for who the fifth man will be... and that's the bottom line... cos Steve Austin says so. 80

LanceArcher3.jpg.3f524078a33aa675c7340c907e2518c2.jpgDutch.jpg.1458ce2a761eda033e4cdea16c67ea2a.jpgVincent(4).jpg.506060e94c64c1d1dc13beabd3b15360.jpg v DaltonCastle2.jpg.9af9fa45f4a8b8c45b79db842f1fa0c2.jpgBrandonTate1.jpg.fbf557fa797418309ec99080b337f130.jpgBrentTate1.jpg.0e2bb8a48844272278e7c1ab14dd343f.jpg
Lance Archer & The Righteous v Dalton Castle & The Boys
Not the best of matches to open, but it was possible. It was largely dominated by Archer, Dutch and Vincent, especially so when Archer was throwing The Boys around like, well, boys. Archer won it for his trio in 7:28 when he pinned Brent with a Blackout. 54
Castle seemed off his game

Sami Zayn is in the ring and begins talking about his World Championship match at All In London against either Bryan Danielson or Samoa Joe when he gets interrupted by MJF... MJF says he hates happy go lucky types like Zayn... people who think everything smells of roses and everything is wonderful... newsflash, continues MJF, it isn't, a lot of it is full of shit... Zayn doesn't like this, saying he's worked hard to get to where he is and doesn't take things for granted... and he challenges MJF for a match at Blood & Guts... MJF initially looks like he will decline, but it seems he has a change of heart, agreeing, saying if he beats Zayn, then by default he'll be in line for a World Championship match having beaten the Casino Battle Royal winner and also that's he's not forgotten the Casino Battle Royal where Zayn cost MJF the win. 73

Killswitch(1).jpg.e035b06bd7831d3bc9a5cd437055b896.jpg v JackParry3.jpg.ac8c132cdb1d9a0b70f6fa6dfcb8d924.jpg
OWEN HART FOUNDATION MEN'S TOURNAMENT SECOND ROUND
Killswitch v Jack Perry (with Jake Roberts)

A decent enough match and one where the power versus speed age old clash played out pretty well. In the end, a distraction from Jake Roberts allowed Perry to regain control of the match and seal the deal in 9:50 by submission with a Snare Trap. 55
Killswitch and Perry have pretty good chemistry

We go black and white as we see Lexy Nair with Toni Storm and her butler Luther. Nair asks Storm what is on her mind... Storm says that somebody has arrived that threatens to steal her spotlight darling... and that somebody is Becky Lynch... nobody steals the spotlight from the true star in AEW... Chin up, tits out, watch for the shoe... except the thrown shoe has been caught as Becky Lynch walks into shot holding it... Lynch says that she's not here to steal spotlights, she's not interested in the movies, the media and all that... she wants to fight the best and she wants to win championship... Lynch continues that if she has a problem with somebody, she fights to sort it out... so she says that she will fight Toni Storm at Blood & Guts... think of the spotlight on that Toni... Toni has kept her chin up the whole time and replies "Blockbuster darling". 59

ScorpioSky.jpg.6a0258758b098effa27c450ae3a2b011.jpg v KeithLee6.jpg.b41638fb479126970785264ee784e2d1.jpg
Scorpio Sky v Keith Lee
Many expected Lee to win this, and for sure he looked the likely winner for much of the match. Sky though isn't a former World Tag Team and TNT champion for nothing. He dug in, toughed out what the big man threw at him and pulled one out of the bag in 10:14 by pinfall with a Fatal Answer. 60
Lee out performed Sky 66-56
Sky and Lee have pretty good chemistry

Renee Paquette is backstage with the new International champion KENTA, who has the title belt draped over his right shoulder. Renee asks him how it feels to be champion... KENTA replies by saying he is proud to be the AEW International champion... then Wardlow appears, the former TNT champion challenges the new International champion to put the title on the line next week on Collision... KENTA agrees, saying he will be a fighting champion. 66

NikkiStorm7.jpg.27c870c11919a96406fd786131d42c77.jpg v YukaSakazaki.jpg.dcfae885ceba312f5b6e8fff8f0c70f2.jpg
Nikki Storm v Yuka Sakazaki
Nikki Storm's AEW in ring debut comes against somebody who should be a relatively straight forward opponent. However, Storm was somewhat disappointing and made hard work of her first AEW win, it coming in 7:44 by pinfall with The Perfect Storm. 56

Straight after the match, Jordynne Grace runs in and attacks the victor, relentless in her assault until Storm is still on the mat, where Grace stands over her and raises her arms in triumph. 54

MercedesMon(8).jpg.02ef3783194dfe4d63d7bc074627fb56.jpg v JamieHayter.jpg.c98e0779be740a0b8d085249966adf74.jpg v BrittBaker.jpg.cc4b968a33c07660496dc74b7378e11a.jpg
OWEN HART FOUNDATION WOMEN'S TOURNAMENT QUARTER FINAL
Mercedes Moné v Jamie Hayter (Women's World champion) v Dr Britt Baker D.M.D.

A match dominated by Moné and Hayter. Baker has been struggling for form of late and it showed here. Hayter and Baker were reluctant to look up and after Moné took advantage of their hesitation the first time, they did so later on. In the end, it was Baker who succumbed and Moné who gained the fall in 13:17 by submission through a bank statement. 67
Baker performed far worse than everybody else (52, next worst Hayter 74)
Moné seemed off her game
Hayter benefitted from public support
Baker was penalised for being in extremely poor form

In front of a monitor backstage, we see Alex Abrahantes and the World Tag Team champions Lucha Brothers ahead of the number one contender match that is next... Abrahantes says whoever wins will face the hottest tag team in the world today at Blood & Guts. 72

AdamCopeland.jpg.724ccba009f965397738eef69fa669a7.jpgKonosukeTakeshita1.jpg.99cfe3e46b20a9a8944b24df97f339c1.jpg v BigBill3.jpg.ff3fe7923802cf107015efe54461d889.jpgRickyStarks.jpg.28a7d8d5e8480c0b69afe3116e4a8071.jpg
NUMBER ONE CONTENDERS MATCH
Adam Copeland (TNT champion) & Konosuke Takeshita v Big Bill & Ricky Starks

A team that was successful in the AEW League for Black Lotus and reached the top of the tag team rankings meet the former champions who have the same record and ranking. It made for an intriguing match. And one where Copeland and Takeshita largely dominated Bill of all people. They out wrestled him, pure and simple. So much it led to them winning in 14:02 when Takeshita pinned Bill with a Javelin Kick. 65
Bill performed worse than everybody else (49, next worst Starks 68)

Alex Marvez is backstage with the World champion Bryan Danielson. Marvez says that Danielson has challengers lining up with Samoa Joe at Blood & Guts and if Danielson wins that, Sami Zayn waiting for the winner at All In London... Before Danielson even has chance to comment, Jay White appears... White says he wants to challenge Danielson for the title too... but he doesn't want to wait until Blood & Guts or All In London... he wants it next week on Collision... Danielson says wrestling is his life... this title is his life... and he's never backed down from any challenge... he tells White he has his title match next week. 67

HiromuTakahashi1.jpg.706968012e11c8d073147cf1c96e4da8.jpg v ZackSabreJr2.jpg.1255ad8120222e139172bed5e6890b4e.jpg
Hiromu Takahashi v Zack Sabre Jr
An unlikely main event for an American wrestling TV show but here we have a Japanese superstar versus a Brit who became a superstar in Japan. It was a good match, but not outstanding, and perhaps a little disappointing for people's expectations. Sabre Jr picked up the win in 17:03 by submission with an Orienteering with Napalm Death. 71 - match of the night
NOBBY'S NOTE - A what??!!
Takahashi 73, Sabre Jr 68
Sabre Jr is getting better at his gimmick

Can I sign Jake Roberts to manage the spooky club please. I remember seeing him in the list a while back, assuming he hasn't been picked up. Hopefully he sticks around long enough to pass some spookin tips to the younguns but he must be in danger of retiring at any moment.

Sorry I haven't been too active in the last week or so.

I'm happy with the squad I have at the moment I think. I'm not sure any of the managers really suit the vibe so I think I'll pass on the managers and for the extra woman could I have Kris Statlander?

You've signed Statlander.

While having a ringside manager isn't compulsory, not having one will mean you won't be able to use manager cards, which I will detail at the weekend. It's your choice.

@christmas_ape @DinoKea @stratusfaction @Dawn @PH71 @KyTeran

A message from Stratusfaction requesting popularity and wrestler abilities got me thinking... As team managers, you would have a very good idea of what popularity and skills your wrestlers have... so from now you can make unlimited requests for popularity and skills for any wrestler on your own team.
The 5 requests rule will remain in place for wrestlers who are not on your team, but this is now expanded to include skills as well.

AEW LEAGUE SEASON 2 RULES

Rules in bold are new to Season 2.

LEAGUE
A minimum of 6 and a maximum of 10 teams can compete in the league.
A team can be expelled from the league from the next season at my discretion due to inactivity.
New teams have the opportunity to sign 5 wrestlers to start their roster for the next season before the close season signing/transfer window opens, to give them a fair opportunity to start building their roster.
New teams are to be included at my discretion.

MATCHES
Each team faces each other in men singles, men tag, men trios, women singles, women tag and women trios, giving 6 matches against each team.
All matches have a 20 minute time limit.
3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw.
Each team is guaranteed at least one match every week, unless they have either fulfilled their fixtures for the season or the manager requests a week off for personal reasons. These requests need to be made in advance.
A team will not face any other team twice in the same week.
Matches will generally take place on Dynamite and Collision. Occasionally one might be on Rampage to avoid schedule conflicts with storylines or to fit in matches if a team is behind with their matches at the end of the season.
Each team can have a ringside manager, who is the only person allowed at ringside. This is not compulsory, though there are benefits to having one.

TEAMS & SELECTIONS
Squad size maximum is 8, of which a maximum of 4 men and a maximum of 4 women.
All wrestlers must compete in a minimum of 3 matches in the season, or they will be automatically be released from their team at the end of the season.
One manager can be signed to be at ringside for their team.
Each team has a set number of manager cards that can be used once during the season. These will be detailed for the start of each season.

Each week's fixtures are posted on the forum, along with a deadline for the selections for those matches. In the past there has always been at least 3 days for selections to be made, usually more.
If a selection isn't made, then I shall make the selections on the manager's behalf using a random number selector (no manager cards will be played).

SIGNING/TRANSFER WINDOWS
Any active wrestler in my save game can be signed to a team in the AEW League, provided they either have, or can be signed to an AEW contract in game.
There are two signing/transfer windows, where a team manager can release and sign wrestlers for any reason One of those is is in the close season, the other is mid season. There will be communication in the forum when these are and when they are open and closing.
A wrestler signing in one signing/transfer window cannot be released from the team until at least the next signing/transfer window unless they become available (see below).
A wrestler released in one signing/transfer window cannot be resigned by the same team until the next window opens. They can be signed by other teams as soon as they are released.

A wrestler can be signed from another team in a signing/transfer window, provided the other manager agrees to release them.
Signings are made on a first come first served basis. So if two teams want to sign the same wrestler, the team that signs them will be who posted or private messaged me first, according to the time on the forum.
Only one signing can be made per calendar day (based on UK time) unless I state otherwise.
You must make your signings specifically by name, not by any other means (for example the most over wrestler available).
The same rules apply to ringside managers.

WRESTLER UNAVAILABILITY
If a wrestler becomes unavailable for 2 weeks or less, they cannot be replaced.
If a wrestler becomes unavailable for longer than 2 weeks and up to 2 months, they can be replaced by a loan signing if the manager chooses. The unavailable wrestler will then take their place back in the squad when they return. The unavailable wrestler cannot be permanently be replaced and the loan signing must be a free agent.
If a wrestler becomes unavailable for longer than 2 months, then the manager can choose to replace them permanently, even if the signing/transfer window is not open.
If a wrestler leaves AEW, they must be replaced.

MISCELLANEOUS

MANAGER CARDS

With the introduction of Team Managers in Season 2, those who have one will be able to use each of these managers cards once per season, with the % giving you that much of an increase % chance of winning the match you will play it for.

The seven cards are...
KILLER PROMO - +10% of your manager's microphone skill. This is doubled if you also write your own promo to go on the show, as said by your Team Manager
PRE MATCH MIND GAMES - +5% basic +10% of your manager's psychology skill
EXCELLENT PREPARATION (TRAINING & SCOUTING) +15% basic
COACHING FROM RINGSIDE - +5% basic +10% of your manager's basics skill
RINGSIDE DISTRACTION - +5% basic +10% of your manager's charisma skill
INTERFERENCE FROM RINGSIDE - +15% basic
INTERFERENCE IN THE RING - +25% basic, however there is also a 25% chance of being caught which will lead to immediate disqualification and loss of the match.

So an example of how a couple of these work...
If you play the pre match mind games card with CJ Perry, you get an automatic 5% boost to what I determine your chance of winning the match is, as well an additional 4% due to her psychology skill (her range is 28-58, giving a mid way point of 43 and 10% of that is 4.3, rounded down to 4). Therefore if I were to give you an equal chance of winning the match (49%, giving 2% for a draw), then you would be boosted by 9% to give you 58%, your opponent would therefore drop to 40% and the draw would remain at 2%
If you play the interference in the ring card, your boost would be an automatic 25%. So in the same match chance example, your chance of winning would now be 74%, your opponent down to 24% and 2% for the draw. However, this also carries a 25% chance of being caught and disqualified, so a second random number would then be 'rolled' and if this came in the 25% range, you would lose the match by disqualification. So this one carries risk for greater reward.

Playing the cards is not compulsory during the season, though you can only play each one once.
Playing the cards would need to be done by the selection deadline, though it doesn't have to be at the same time as you make your selections. It must be in by the deadline, I will be strict with this, whereas in the past I have given leeway with selections as long as I haven't written the show in the game.
If you don't have a Team Manager then you can't play any cards.

PRE SHOW
Aussie Open beat The Boys in 6:54 when Davis pinned Brent with an Airplane Spin. 61
Davis benefitted from being in amazing form

AEWDynamite.jpg.96d6622e23f2834bb126c60e92f96ae7.jpg
DYNAMITE
Wednesday, week 2, July 2024
CURE Insurance Arena, Trenton, New Jersey (8,500 capacity)
Announcers: Excalibur, Taz and Tony Schiavone

We start the show outside a room with a plate on the front saying Chief of Staff. The camera man walks inside and we see Steve Austin, EVP Kenny Omega, Drew Galloway, Eddie Kingston, Mark Briscoe... and Jon Moxley. Austin addresses the men in front of him... he tells them that to win Blood & Guts he needs the toughest, baddest, most violent sons of bitches in AEW... men like Omega... Galloway... Kingston... Briscoe... and Jon Moxley... Moxley shakes Austin's hand, telling Austin that Austin is the toughest S O B ever while saying that he (Moxley) is the most violent S O B ever... Kenny Omega walks up to Moxley... he says he hates his guts and has had some of the most violent battles with him in the past... but he knows that Moxley is ultra tough... he knows he is ultra violent... and he also knows that Moxley will die for AEW... so for the sake of the team... for the sake of AEW... he will put the past aside and fight alongside Moxley for AEW... Moxley looks Omega right in the eyes, tells him he hates his guts too... and says he's not coming on Austin's team to help Omega... he's on the team to help AEW. 85

PenelopeFord.jpg.1b33d0008e78d4792416127426912f3f.jpg v StephanieVaquer.jpg.01bd4df62ccb590c6493a82e7d186b07.jpg
Penelope Ford v Stephanie Vaquer
This match was actually pretty good, thanks to Vaquer. She was really good. Her skills and dominance led her to her maiden AEW win in 6:04 by pinfall with a 3.29. We may well see a lot more of Vaquer in the future based on this. 41
Vaquer far out performed Ford 63-39
Ford seemed off her game
Vaquer benefitted from being in amazing form

Alex Marvez is backstage with the World Tag Team champions Lucha Brothers and their manager Alex Abrahantes. Alex addresses the Lucha Brothers' title defence at Blood & Guts against the current TNT champion Adam Copeland and Konosuke Takeshita... he says they are an odd team only put together by being on the same side in the AEW League, where as Penta and Fénix are brothers, a team for a lifetime and the best in the world... He says there will only be one winner at Blood & Guts and it will be the Lucha Brothers. 64

The Patriarchy v Undisputed Kingdom
A decent match which boiled down to who seemed to be able to bend the rules the most to their advantage. That went the way of The Patriarchy mainly thanks to their coniving veteran Christian Cage. His chicanery set up the win in 9:47 when Wayne pinned Taven after a Wayne's World. 63
Bennett seemed off his game
Cage benefitted from being in amazing form

Backstage and the Women's World champion Jamie Hayter is talking to a member of the production crew. Her Blood & Guts challenger Deonna Purrazzo attacks her while she is in mid conversation and starts putting the boots in as Hayter falls to the floor... Hayter's long time friend Dr Britt Baker D.M.D. rushes to the scene and Purrazzo wisely backs off, two on one isn't good for her. 65

LAX (with Konnan and Diamanté) v Nyla Rose, Saraya & 'Timeless' Toni Storm (with Luther)
A good women's trios match between the thug like LAX and three former Women's World champions that LAX attacked last week. LAX used their gang like tactics to outwit the former champions, who's team work was far less cohesive. LAX still needed Diamanté to distract Toni Storm which allowed LAX to take the win in 8:50 when Melo pinned Rose with a Tayogoshi. 50
Thunder Rosa suffered an injury in the match
Tay Melo turned face, which was deemed a complete success

Renee Paquette is backstage with the World champion Bryan Danielson. Renee asks Danielson about his upcoming title matches against Jay White and former champion Samoa Joe... Danielson says he has a busy couple of weeks ahead but he doesn't want it any different... it's part of being the champion... part of being the best in the world... He says they are two very different opponents and two difficult opponents... but Danielson says he is World champion because he is the best in the world and come the end of Blood & Guts, that won't have changed. 72

MarkBriscoe.jpg.b9fa3e9f478b79facbcaf083c03cbfeb.jpg v JackParry3.jpg.58d33af94720aec91d34211862587141.jpg
Mark Briscoe (with Steve Austin, Kenny Omega, Drew Galloway, Eddie Kingston and Jon Moxley) v Jack Perry (with Jake Roberts, Adam Page, Matthew Jackson and Nicholas Jackson)
This was chaotic, as was expected with the two deadly rivals at ringside. The match was decent in the ring, and Briscoe just about had the better of it before an all out brawl broke out at ringside. With Paul Turner trying to sort the mess out at ringside, Perry took advantage in the ring to hit a low blow on Briscoe. This set up the win in 10:07 by pinfall with a Canadian Destroyer. 58
Briscoe benefitted from public support

Jordynne Grace is in the backstage interview area. The former TNA Knockouts champion says she's not afraid of Nikki Storm, nor any of the games or tricks Storm can play... when the lights suddenly flicker and the backstage interview area has been transformed and not has the setting of thick woodland under moonlight, complete with the noises of wild animals... and shortly after cackling laughter that belongs to Nikki Storm... then hundreds, perhaps thousands, of insects such as cockroaches, beetles and crickets amongst other appear and start crawling all around the set, including over Jordynne Grace, who is now completely freaking out... Nikki Storm appears in front of her, seemingly from nowhere, does her cackling laughter again before disappearing again. 59

KotaIbushi6.jpg.74715335769977527f4a026cedcc4269.jpg v RoderickStrong9.jpg.6158267dc6badd07c5243c80c74e2387.jpg
OWEN HART FOUNDATION MEN'S TOURNAMENT SECOND ROUND
Kota Ibushi v Roderick Strong

Decent enough, though some fans and observers expected more. Ibushi has been struggling a little since his longer awaited debut and return from injury and Strong prolonged that her, winning in 10:38 by submission with a Strong Hold. 58
Ibushi was penalised for being in extremely poor form

Lexy Nair is backstage with Will Ospreay. Lexy asks Ospreay how he feels in AEW... Ospreay says it was great at the start, he chalked up a lot of wins and fast... but now he doesn't see as much action and isn't getting as many wins... so he says he needs to get back on track... and first of all he's going to visit Swerve's House at Blood & Guts so the two can put on a match that will stay in the memories of the fans for a long time... and so Ospreay can get back on the winning track in AEW... This prompted Swerve Strickland and Prince Nana to appear... Swerve says he can hear will knocking, and Swerve is in his House so he will answer... Ospreay will visit Swerve's House at Blood & Guts... but he'll be carried back out. 64
Strickland and Nana benefitted from a hot catchphrase

AdamCole2.jpg.bbd4a9eb5736484cd8b4b5aa1810dd50.jpg v Rush6.jpg.3a3e104e6ee225ec7ed643a3ec1f330e.jpg
Adam Cole (with Matt Taven, Mike Bennett, Roderick Strong and Wardlow) v Rush (with Konnan, Dralistico, El Hijo del Vikingo, Ortiz, Sammy Guevara and Ortiz)
Like earlier, a lot of combustible elements at ringside and when LAX tried a gang attack, Undisputed Kingdom stood their ground and they brawled to the back. This allowed Cole and Rush to compete one on one in the ring without any extra curricular at ringside. Cole won a good, even match in 11:54 by pinfall with The Boom. 71 - match of the night

Following a commercial, Sting makes his way to the ring. The Icon calls out his former World Tag Team champion partner Darby Allin to the ring, who duly obliges... Sting says everybody now knows his last professional match with be at Wembley Stadium at All In London (Darby is nodding) and he says he wants Darby to be there... Darby says of course, it will be his honour... Sting continues, saying he wants Darby to be his final opponent... Darby is stunned and after a moment he agrees, as he says it will be a memory for life to be the one to be Sting's final opponent... The two hug in the middle of the ring. 78

TNT CHAMPIONSHIP
COPE OPEN
Adam Copeland (champion) v Claudio Castagnoli

A hot crowd for the main event and a decent enough match, though surprisingly in such an important match, Castagnoli was below par. Somehow, someway though he still managed to win the title, beating Copeland in 15:33 by pinfall with a Neutraliser. New champion! 70
Copeland out performed Castagnoli 73-55
Castagnoli was really off his game
Adam Copeland suffered his first AEW singles defeat (17 matches)

@DinoKea

Thunder Rosa was injured on Dynamite, suffering a torn labrum. She will be out for 7-8 weeks. As her injury is less than 2 months, you can choose to sign somebody on loan to replace her. This would be a temporary signing and Thunder Rosa would return to your team when she recovers and the loan signing will leave.

Surgery is also an option, deemed to be low risk.

In addition, Tay Melo has announced she is pregnant. She will be going on maternity leave in 1 month so she will need replacing. You can do this now or at any point until she starts her maternity leave

Please let me know what you want to do. There is still another two and a half game weeks until Season 2 starts.

Wednesday, week 2, July 2024
Broadcast on Friday, week 2, July 2024
CURE Insurance Arena, Trenton, New Jersey (8,500 capacity)
Announce team: Chris Jericho & Excalibur

We see the familiar sight of Renee Paquette to start Rampage, and she is with Maki Itoh ahead of tonight’s main event against Willow Nightingale. Itoh says she will beat Willow and make her way back up to challenge for the Women’s World Championship again. 66

OWEN HART FOUNDATION MEN’S TOURNAMENT SECOND ROUND
Big Bill v Anthony Ogogo

An awful match, thankfully it didn’t go on for too long. Bill won in 4:31 by pinfall with an East River Crossing. 24

Backstage and we see Penelope Ford and Megan Bayne. Ford challenge Bayne to a match next week. Bayne accepts. I’m sure that will be a slobber knocker… 41

Red Velvet v Trinity

Thankfully a big improvement on the opening contest, though that wasn’t difficult and this still wasn’t particularly good. Trinity beat Velvet, a late replacement for Rosemary, in 7:33 by pinfall with a Nightfalls. 45
Trinity far out performed Velvet 53-30
Trinity benefitted from public support
Red Velvet has lost her first 6 matches

It’s Willow Nightingale’s turn to be with Renee Paquette. Paquette asks her for the thoughts to Maki Itoh’s earlier comments… Willow says she too is looking to climb to the top of the women’s division in AEW and that she is hopeful she can do it. 58

Dark Order v Best Friends

A much better match than those before it between two cohesive teams who are AEW originals. Dark Order got the better of this battle in 8:56 when Reynolds submitted Beretta with a Reynods Wrap. 57 – match of the night

Backstage and we see The Righteous are talking, at least in Vincent’s own way, to The Hardys and challenge them to a match on Rampage next week. Matt accepts and Jeff starts to talk to Vincent in an equally strange way. 51
Matt Hardy has changed to a Broken gimmick, rated very good
