It sure seems that way, doesn't it?! While their product isn't great, by having Hogan headlining virtually every PPV and TV taping their show ratings aren't suffering too hard. And while I have now overtaken them on popularity in the US, they are still spanking me worldwide. And they have significantly better prestige than us. Add to this that they are growing money out of their backsides (they now have over $100 million in the bank) and I can imagine their poor shows aren't too much of a concern!

Man, Hart back to WWF? That'd be ... amazing. Imagine if he came back, formed a heel faction with Michaels and McMahon and they all proclaimed it was all a .... work, to try and help get within WCW to bring it to it's knees from within. WOW!

That would be amazing for sure, but there's no guarantee he will even sign yet. Lers see how things go.
Man, Hart back to WWF? That'd be ... amazing. That would be brilliant, but as previously said, there's no guarantees he will even sign, 'cos there's a lot of bad blood still. Also tristram, you're one of the only regular on here who hasn't made predictions for Unforgiven. If you, or any readers who haven't voted yet still want to, you have about 24 hours I reckon before the PPV is up. Thanks to all for your feedback and predictions, it's what keeps me doing this diary.
This diary is the BEST one on the forums and that is even before this upcoming PPV which I have no doubt will take things to another level!
Jeez, thanks man that's mighty high praise as there are some unbelievably good diaries on here. I hope Unforgiven manages to impress you, it's more detailed so far than any of the shows (but not 'Mania- that took my hours!) I'm currently making a new logo for RAW is WAR which I hope to debut on the RAW after the PPV.

As nine of the men in the upcoming “Opportunity Battle Royal” stand ready for the match to begin, unfamiliar music is heard over the PA. It’s gothic sounding, and the arena turns blood red. Through the curtain steps former indie worker Gangrel who is clearly fairly well known in this South-East region. He walks to the ring in a huge trench coat and cup of blood, which proceeds in drinking and spitting out over the audience, his fangs now dripping in the red liquid. Opportunity Battle Royal “Dr Death” Steve Williams vs Mosh vs Thrasher vs “Human Suplex Machine” Taz vs Edge vs Christian vs Road Warrior Animal vs Road Warrior Hawk vs Ahmed Johnson vs Gangrel The newcomer seemed very impressive in his debut, as he aggressively set out to attack anyone and anything near by. The youngsters Edge and Christian were scared out of their souls of this vampiric rookie, and did everything they could to avoid him. Every worker in this match worked their A-game, knowing full well that a victory in this match could help them step away from the rest of the midcard. Both Headbangers were quickly dismissed, and were followed by the Legion Of Doom. Despite being a singles match, Edge and Christian teamed up to great effect, eliminating Ahmed Johnson, and much to the distain of the pro Dr Death crowd, Steve Williams. However, when Gangrel literally scared Christian over the top rope and out of the match, the game turned on its head and became more even. Taz was on fire, suplexing anyone he could get his hands on, including a Belly To Belly on Gangrel to out of the ring, leaving himself and Edge. Both men battle to their limits but it was Taz who icked up the victory, locking a Tazmission on Edge on the ring apron then simply tossing him away. Winner: Taz in 9:48 Rating: C -------------------------------------------------- Vince McMahon is in his office, when Dutch Mantell enters for an interview. Dutch: Mr McMahon, you seem in a good mood. Vince: Of course I am, Dutch, because tonight I once again get my own way. I guarantee that come the end of the night, the exact people I want to win will have done, and I will once again have the power of the World Wrestling Federation. And how do I know that? Because the title match tonight will be No…. Disqualification… Vince nods with eyes huge and sick smile on his face. -------------------------------------------------- Meanwhile backstage, a car pulls up in the parking lot, and out steps Shawn Michaels. Still with a concerned look on his face, perhaps most interesting is he came alone. Whose side is he on? D-Generation X or Vince McMahon?

WCW Heavyweight Title Hollywood Hogan (c)def Bret Hart - I would have pulled for Bret here Booker T def Randy Savage - Wow! Top result there WCW Cruiserweight Title Psicosis (c) def Madusa - Why must we see Madusa in men's cruiserweight action? WCW Tag Title Steiner Brothers (c) def Nasty Boys - Nasty Boys? On Hogan Knows Best one of them can barely walk :D Sting def Barbarian - Good, but what the heck is he doing up against the Barbarian at Pay-Per-View time? WCW US Title Dean Malenko def Jim Duggan (c) - Good, Duggan's not in his class Stevie Ray def Michaels Wallstreet - This was the toilet break match I bet Outsiders def Giant/Luger - Good Steve McMichael def Raven - WHAT! WHAT! Man I hope there was serious interference here, Raven is better than that schmuck! Who's booked this, tristram? John Tenta def Booty Man - Weak Hugh Morrus def Disco Inferno - I'd have liked that match Hammer def Wrath - Weak, jobbing Wrath to Hammer... that was a 30 second job match for Wrath, Hammer is hopeless

Final Encounter Wrestlemania Rematch Triple Threat Match for the WWF Championship Stone Cold Steve Austin (c) vs Shawn Michaels vs Owen Hart - Stone Cold, I want Owen Hart over, but I think a bigger event would do it brilliantly. Number One Contendership of the WWF Title The Undertaker vs Kane vs Mankind vs Triple H - Mankind, there's no streak on the line here so it's doable Two Out Of Three Falls Match The Rock vs Ken Shamrock - The Rock, to reassert himself after being belted by Kenny Shamrock Cage Match for the WWF Intercontinental Title Jeff Jarrett (c) vs Goldust - Title change, title change.. Goldust WWF Tag Team Championship New Age Outlaws (c) vs The Nation - New Age Outlaws Marc Mero w/Sable vs Marcus Bagwell - The Stuff is Buff and that's enough, scruff WWF Hardcore Title Sabu (c) vs Tommy Dreamer - Tommy Dreamer Faarooq vs Godfather - Godfather WWF Light-Heavyweight Title Match Chavo Guerrero Jr (c) vs TAKA Michinoku - Chavo

The funny thing about WCWs booking is that while it's been poor, going by WCW standards it's believable. Don't get me wrong, I was a huge fan of WCW, but with a bit of creative imagination I could genuinely picture this event; WCW Heavyweight Title Hollywood Hogan (c)def Bret Hart Hogan has been a right little politican so far so I can't see him dropping the strap to anyone other than Nash, to be honest. Booker T def Randy Savage To push Booker into main event (Savage had A popularity in the US) WCW Cruiserweight Title Psicosis (c) def Madusa Of course, Madusa was briefly in the Cruiswerweight division WCW Tag Title Steiner Brothers (c) def Nasty Boys These two teams have been having matches for months, and are two of the most over teams Sting def Barbarian To me this stinks of WCW trying to push an old guy to the main event rather than a youngster and having it fall flat. I cold picture this. WCW US Title Dean Malenko def Jim Duggan (c) Come on, this just HAD to happen. 40-something Duggan or Malenko? No choice. Stevie Ray def Michaels Wallstreet This is the one match that wasn't realistic Outsiders def Giant/Luger Yup, realistic. Steve McMichael def Raven This is SO WCW. Take a credible young star, fill the match with interference and have the young star job out. John Tenta def Booty Man Okay, another match the wouldn't happen Hugh Morrus def Disco Inferno I could imagine this, plus I'd quite enjoy it. Hammer def Wrath As part of pushing Hammer I could see it. So while the booking is often horrendous, there is still a hint of WCW about it. And ECWs PPV was pretty good I think. Generally, the right people won and no-one major was left out (unlike WCW- how can you leave Ric Flair, DDP, Guerrero and Benoit all off a PPV card?!)
Steve McMichael def Raven
Didn't McMichael defeat Goldberg to end the streak earlier in the diary? Hulk Hogan...I mean WCW seems to be giving McMichael a big push. I wouldn't be surprised to see him wearing some gold soon! What are his ratings? Does he seem to be rated really high or is Hogan...I mean the computer just dumb? :)
(unlike WCW- how can you leave Ric Flair, DDP, Guerrero and Benoit all off a PPV card?!)
You could have made a great tag match out of that with Flair/DDP vs Guerrero/Benoit!

His overness in the US has climbed to B- after a string of decent wins. However, his ability is probably worse than a green Goldberg. It's entirely possible an article will be run shortly on the surprising push of the former- Chicago Bear. And that tag match sounds like a great idea, I'd certainly love to see it. All four men could go and with the right pushes I reckon that would be money. Or at least more so than Stevie Ray vs Michael Wallstreet or Booty Man vs John Tenta. Although leaving those four out should be made a criminal offence, it would be understandable if it were real life. Flair and Bischoff had real issues backstage, and Benoit and Guerrero obviously weren't happy there, hence them leaving in 2000. In fact, The Sun have a great podcast of a chat with Benoit, and they laugh about how Benoit's old WCW theme music has been used in a porn film. Perhaps funniest part of that is Benoit doesn't seem all that surprised.
