  1. Nothing is dumber than Brodus Clay, but yes, The Lord Tensai gimmick is rather stupid.
  2. Eh, people have crummy judgment and their opinions are all wrong. What can you do though?
  3. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="soxfan93" data-cite="soxfan93" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="25169" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Really? Because I thought it was awful. Bryan/Kofi was good, Punk/Henry was okay, Cena's promo was solid, but that was it. Everything else felt like a waste of time.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Something good, something okay and something solid in amongst the waste of time? That is above average for WWE.</p>
  4. Never smoked anything but yes, I am determined to hate Teddy as I am SO BLOODY SICK OF HIM. I ranted about him before and how saying "playa" is the sum total of his entire contribution to the wrestling industry over the last decade or so. Heck, you like him more than Laurinaitis? Fair enough, we all like what we like. I just don't understand it is all since he only entertained me maybe once in the whole time he's been in WWE. I am sure you have more talent in numerous areas than he has in wrestling.
  5. Whereas only a true artist could do Teddy's job? Come on, they both blow. Johnny is the fresher of two evils but I agree about the energy (or lack of) he brings. I too would rather see someone good in the role though but this is WWE. If they get 10% of their decisions right they are batting above their average.
  6. No there's not. Seriously, I don't think there is anyone with less substance to them than Teddy. He had to go, He's been around for ages and his act is so very tired. Johnny may not be the greatest guy around (far from it) but at least he's not Teddy. I'm fine with him being the evil middle manager who somehow found his way to the top so long as he isn't in that position for the next 8 years without evolving.
  7. Yeah, stupid Evan. But still, it's not like there's a shortage of smallish highflying white guys around they could replace him with, or a shortage of people already in the WWE with not much on. Pretty much anyone who I am bored by or who isn't up to much should be thrown into a tag team to see if that makes them any more tolerable.
  8. Yeah, all of this. The fact we rarely even see the tag belts defended on PPV is an absolute travesty. As is the fact we are subjected to singles matches by some of these "superstars". I loved the Miz/Truth combination but find them less interesting as singles guys, thought Kofi was way more tolerable when teaming with Bourne. The thing is, WWE has lots of singles wrestlers who shouldn't be. Guys who can wrestle and talk well enough to get over are few. So why not team up a few people so that between them you might be able to get an okay promo and an okay match out of them if need be?
  9. I'm behind the times, only just saw mania tonight... They screwed up more than they got right. It was still an alright show, but it had the potential to be so great. I knew they'd blow a few things, but god damn. D-Bry/Sheamus was downright insulting to all concerned. I was looking forward to that match so much Big Show/Rhodes - Meh, who cares. Show is Show and Rhodes isn't Dusty or Goldust. Orton/Kane - Meh, why is Kane winning in 2012? why does he exist in 2012 Divas match was rubbish, my girl Beth needs to just Goldberg her way through everyone for a year, not lose to some scrawny low level tv personality. I like Beth so much and want her to have my super muscular heel babies. HIAC - Good stuff Team Johnny -vs- Team Teddy - The right team won, the wrong guy took the fall but at least it looks like they are going somewhere with it. I was fine with the match, it was about what I expected. Punk/Jericho - Pretty good, not quite the awesomeness I expected though. Brodus Clay segment? Abysmal garbage that makes me never want to watch WWE again. Shoot everyone involved, dump them in mass graves and move on. Flo Rida is a bellend. Heath Slater could have taken him anyway. Also his music blows and his attack was entirely unprovoked. Is he a heel? Why are celebrity guests heels and who were those two clowns who showed up when Heath got pushed? Rock/Cena? Meh, so so match, wrong guy won. I rioted as best I could on my own on a wednesday night in Australia.
  10. My problem is I wasted so much time treating girls like equals. They don't like that.
  11. You guys need to stop saying positive things about Kofi. Dude flat out sucks horseballs. Ooh look, I can jump really high to deliver something that isn't even really a move. In all the time he's been around there have only been two occasions where i was like "Yeah okay, Kofi is alright tonight". Dude needs to disappear or at least be hidden in a tag team where his many many many flaws are made less obvious. Stupid Evan Bourne being a druggy. I am down with the Regal GM idea though, I mean .... Johnny and Teddy are both pretty meh. If I never saw Teddy again I would be pretty happy ... he did his little dance a couple weeks ago, I chuckled but won't next time I see it, and JL is I dunno ... don't think I quite hate him since he fills his role about as well as you can expect someone with no talent to.

People sending dishes back purely because they've realised they don't actually like the dish they've ordered (not because there's anything wrong with it, that's entirely different. They just order things like chicken pate and realise they don't actually like it). Then they think they're entitled to order something else for no cost.<p> </p><p> Also, people that eat 99.97% of their meal, THEN complain that it was "horrible", "inedible" or "there was a hair in it". The hair is usually coincidentally extremely similar to their own colour.</p><p> </p><p> Or tables larger than, say, 6 people that walk in to the restaurant on a Saturday evening on a whim, and are astonished when we can't fit them in anywhere.</p><p> </p><p> Or people who ask frankly ridiculous questions, like "can my daughter have the beer-battered fish and chips if she's a coeliac?" I dunno how you make batter where you're from missus, but generally flour is kinda necessary and 99% of beer has wheat in it.</p><p> </p><p> It's a good job I'm not a waiter, or I'd probably lose my rag after a week and start being snarky.</p><p> </p><p> "Does the Coq-au-Vin have wine in it?"</p><p> "Yes, why? Would you prefer just the coq?"</p><p> </p><p> "Does the bouillabaisse contain fish?"</p><p> "If it didn't, it'd be called tomato soup."</p><p> </p><p> "Is your 'freshly baked bread' baked on the premises?"</p><p> "No, we run to the local bakery every time someone orders it."</p><p> </p><p> "Where do you source your fish from?"</p><p> "The sea." (This wouldn't be ridiculous at all, were it not for the fact that we're situated right on the harbour of a major city, with a direct, uninterrupted view of a busy fish market. Hell, the damn restaurant used to BE the fish market, before they build the new one).</p><p> </p><p> "Is the orange sorbet suitable for vegetarians?"</p><p> "I know it's called 'blood orange' sorbet, but come on..."</p><p> </p><p> And my favourite of all time:</p><p> "Is there shellfish in the moules mariniere?"</p><p> "... I don't even...?"</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Maybe if more of the dishes had English names you wouldn't have this problem? <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> As far as I can tell any job that involves people is going to get on your nerves. Not much you can do about that short of becoming super easy going or killing everyone.</p>

Talk about lowering the bar on all of human existence, I think that Vince is the master of that.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Oh no doubt Vince has done some low stuff, nothing lower than Snookie being on Mania though. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> Exploiting death is one thing, and pretty damn bad, but reality TV's whole agenda seems to be exploitation, ugliness, greed and stupidity. I honestly don't think anything positive comes out of it. At least wrestling once in a while you get a feelgood moment, reality TV just has such a seedy, ugly vibe to it that even the less repulsive shows are more about people being a-holes to each other than anything else.</p><p> </p><p> I understand everyone has their opinions and their taste, but understanding it doesn't mean I have to respect it.</p>
  15. <p>Kudos to The Miz for saying Little People instead of Midgets I guess. </p><p> </p><p> For a company that is so heavily involved in all the B A STAR anti-bullying stuff, it's about time someone sent out a memo to stop using derogatory terms.</p><p> </p><p> Or you know ... WWE could stop being pansies and let heels display as much bullying, socially-unacceptable behaviour, bad language, etc as they want since they are bad guys and meant to do things that are not good.</p><p> </p><p> Either way, it's best to be consistent one way or the other as it just makes them look like massive hypocrites otherwise.</p>
  16. Are you comparing wrestling to reality TV?? Come on man, let's be honest. Remember when Snookie had her WWE run and how she looked like a drunk moron compared to the wrestlers? People who regularly get hit in the head and die 50 years too young due to substance abuse problems? Sure wrestling isn't high brow entertainment, but reality TV actively lowers the bar on all human existance and expression.
  17. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="BHK1978" data-cite="BHK1978" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="27929" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Well sadly I love reality TV<p> </p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Emphasis on the word sadly <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> Shows like "who do you think you are" to me are closer to like ... a documentary than what is thought of as reality TV, which is usually preplanned idiocy with untalented non-actors.</p>
  18. I'm really in the mood to watch some Moses Malone.
  19. I'm doing what I love regardless of the material rewards (or rather lack thereof) and therefore I have every right to diss The Rock. We aren't all money grubbing sellouts like you Remi. You filthy greedy soulless corporate monster How do you sleep at night? On a pile of money surrounded by beautiful women? You sicken me! But then you know ... Maybe Rock loves making movies too? It's not like he went and became an accountant or something *shudder*. There are so many more reasons to dislike The Rock than the fact he went into movies. Like his childish promos, his baldness, his crappy tattooes, the fact The Rock drinking game shortened my life significantly or just that people still love the guy even though he's nowhere near as entertaining as he once was.
  20. Teddy is just abysmal. Playa. That's all he has. He says "Playa". That's the entire sum of his contribution to the industry since he stopped being peanut head and yet he is on pretty frequently and presented in such a way that I am meant to like him. Like him because he hangs around getting rubbed by slappers young enough to be his daughters and says "Playa". Imagine if Sonny Ohno or Bill Alfonso or any other dodgy 90s manager were in that role then think about how absolutely absurd it is that Teddy Long still has a job in 2012.
  21. To be fair, I don't hate it so much as I just object to it existing/being held up as an example of anyone's abilities. Anyone who has not heard the Kevin Smith Superman/Wild Wild West story should check that out on youtube.
  22. In all fairness, I always thought Will Smith was a decent actor in the right role. Sure he's a worthless human being for trying to shove his talentless children into the spotlight though. And nothing he has done in recent times has been any good. And his rapping was abysmal. And he is a goofy looking big eared moron who last I heard was getting into scientology. But still, Fresh Prince was okay and I am sure he was alright in one or two other things. And Remi, your Wild Wild West example is .... I am not sure. Should I say that film was a monumental con job or should I say your average audience is made up of 99% idiots? Not sure how much credit Will Smith deserves for that. Probably a punch in the face from everyone who saw that film. Back to WWE, Teddy Long also deserves a punch in the face from everyone who saw Wild Wild West.
  23. I think the ability to do promos has been going down for a long time, and I would agree that part of it may be the death of character. Ya see, a lot of promos these days don't feel like they are in character, either because the wrestler doesn't have a character or because their character is bland. There is very little ranting and raving and outlandishness which I always thought was a highlight back in the day. Imagine if Hulk, Randy Savage, Ric Flair, Dusty Rhodes just spend all their time speaking in a normal, medium-pitch, moderate volume voice. Remember a few years ago, maybe a decade, when everyone was looking back at how great Jake Roberts was because he didn't need to shout to come across as intense? I noticed not long after that, everyone's promos stopped being loud and crazy. Problem is, a bunch of people not as creepy as Jake talking in their normal voices isn't very interesting. In addition to that, I think promos have struggled since the attitude era when catchphrases became more important than actual promos. A whole generation grew up immitating people like The Rock (seemingly none more so than the WWE writers) and as a result, everyone had stupid rhyming nicknames or repeated lines every time they spoke whether it fit into what was going on or not and spend less time talking about what was actually going on, who they were, who they hated, why they hated them and what was going to happen as a result of said hatred. To be fair, I think things have been on bit of an upswing since Punk starting owning it on the mic a while back but I honestly believe every wrestler should start every promo with the words "Let me tell you something, Mean Gene" and the quality would pick up from there.
  24. Pop culture doesn't so much show us that racism is wrong as out and out lecture us at length to ridiculous degrees while still perpetuating ignorance and bigoted views constantly. Musicians as a whole are not good role models for anyone. Whether it's calling women bitches (which should be reserved for those who actually are bitches) or just glorifying being a self-centred drug-addled weak-willed whiny toolbag, for some reason being famous and making music seems to be pretty closely linked with just being a terrible person. Being involved in film, I am all for freedom of expression but not all expression needs to be mimicked.
