Hogan always getting away just barely made people thirsty to see Sting get to him in an actual match where he would be forced to fight him.

/nod

Basic theory, worked to perfection. Of course, I honestly believe this is the only way it would have worked. Let's be honest, had Sting not gone Crow when he did, he would've been lost in the shuffle and dropped out of importance as the nWo rose and new faces flooded the scene.

He would've been a midcard act by the end of the second year, and there was no way WCW could let that happen and still have any identity for itself outside of former WWF guys. Just happened to be one great idea, booked almost flawlessly, that saved Sting's career.

 2. Knights of Pen & Paper, honestly, got boring too quickly for me to recommend spending anything on it.
 3. /nod Taker knew he couldn't perform up to the level expected of him anymore, I believe. That match is a showing of time taking its toll on him. It sucks, because next year there's not going to be a Taker vs. whoever anticipation for months waiting for him to come back and it be revealed. That moment was something, though. I pray they capitalize on it, and I can not wait to hear Paul Heyman tonight. My god what a promo that's gonna be.
 4. Ambrose could go full on hobo look and go crazier after the split to give him something fun to do. It'd make him stand out and solidify him in the midcard as something not just like the rest of the midcard, and that's about as far as I see him going. Honestly don't know what you do with Rollins, I'd struggle booking him without the Shield gimmick at this point in WWE. Never been a promotion built on guys like him, but I wouldn't want him to become just another midcard guy who doesn't really stand out amongst guys like Kofi. Don't see much at all changing about Reigns. Would be no reason to change him.
 5. Would much prefer that to the alternative of someone else being brought in to fill the void. Really don't think they could recapture what the Shield is with another third, which is really saying something for Reigns, who was the odd man out of the pairing originally. Can remember having company over watching the night they debuted and us all going "Him? Of all the guys in NXT, he gets the spot?" Now he's the part of the group I look foward to most.
 6. Yeah. Guy's not there yet. He's got all the potential in the world to get there and be a big player in the next few years, but he's still got a long way to go before he gets himself to that point. They need to not rush this, which means keeping the Shield together, which is good, because that gimmick made the three of them much more than any of them could've been alone. The music alone gets me excited for the three of them. Dreading music choices once they split.

He sits there and begs for a beatdown with showing no signs at all he is worried. At least with this same gimmick, Hulk Hogan would appear worried/nervous and sell the heel as a MAJOR threat. The only time you will see Cena sell an opponent is when it is a face that doesnt need selling.

Even when he DOES get beat down, it's never one on one, and he still completely craps all over the moment to ensure that he's the only one coming out of the situation with any momentum.

It's what he did to the Nexus night 1 with the stupid thumbs up to the fans while he was being taken away. Completely killed any legitimacy they had when eight of them couldn't do enough to Cena to keep him from being the one on top somehow.

I get that WWE needs their fallback guy, but they need to realize Cena's not going to lose his spot in the eyes of the fans who still care. He's always going to be John Cena. It's been time for him to start putting people over for a long time now. Hopefully Mania will see him actual bother to do that.

The man never sells, and he has completely destroyed momentum for people against him in the process. He has to trash everyone who comes against him, mostly because jokes are the only reason people cheer him anymore.

Let's not forget, most of the time Cena buries someone by pretending they're not even cutting a promo and then mocking them, they go on to get buried in the match despite whatever odds there may be, and that just proves Cena ignoring them and mocking them is about all they're worth.

If you put a guy over through your promos, him losing doesn't have half the negative effect.

Really wonder if Cena even knows how to put people over. It's about time for him to start doing so if WWE's going to prepare for the future at all.

 13. Jeff did okay in 2013, but it's hard to want to see a man who's been a walking insult to the business for the better part of a decade now.

Willow The Wisp was actually popular in Omega from what I understand. But I mean, they were cornball over-the-top promos done by a kid. No one knows what we're going to see with Hardy doing this in 2014 and that's a fact. Some people are just snobs and ONLY post in forums and on reddit to feel superior in their old wrestling knowledge, even though they despise the current WWE product.

That said, Jaysin is 100% not one of them. He's a consistently intelligent, reasonable poster and I feel like taking history in context he was just going for a silly joke. Not some type of snobbery. Probably doesn't need to be said but just sayin :-)

Everyone knows what we're gonna see from Hardy.

Drug induced wobbling in place, crazy rambling, him humming/singing his theme song, and less than stellar matches in a promotion that was originally built on a style he should've thrived in but failed to even compare to.

 15. I just wish he wasn't such a wuss. A little more edge and a little less authority butt kissing would go a long way.

As for Bryan, he could adopt a 'naked Mideon' style gimmick and still be massively over right now. It'd also be a nice natural conclusion to the whole arc - Bryan winning the belt from the guy who 'stole' his opportunity in the first place.

Orton-Bryan has been done too much recently for me to be excited about that match - I honestly don't know what they're going to do with Orton post-mania, because he's utterly stalled right now - the character has been so inconsistently written and booked, we don't know whether he's playing his 'viper' role, the 'corporate champion' role, or the 'snivelling, cowardly champion' role, and it's impossible to invest any kind of emotional reaction in him, and for once, it's not entirely his fault.

I don't see Batista turning heel until, at the very least, mid August. Once Guardians is out of the way, they're free to do whatever they want again.

Actually had a fun conversation with a friend the other night about what to do with Orton, Trips, Kane after Mania. Not gonna mention it because there's ZERO chance it happens in any universe, but yeah. They'll probably just disband the group randomly and try to pretend it never happened by June.

 20. I've yet to see Cole cut a promo that didn't make me change the channel. In the ring the guy's amazing, I'll give him that. I also haven't seen every ROH show or anything to say there's no way he's a promo guy. If anyone can find some solid mic work from him, share a link.

If that didn't get hijacked in Miami just three years ago then this won't. That pretty much is the biggest evidence you're wrong. If Wrestlemania is always loud smarks who are always hot then they would have booed that match and had a thousand chants but they didn't. I could list others as well probably on that same card. So yeah kind of kills your argument. Also on that same show was Jerry Lawler vs. Michael Cole and THAT didn't get crapped on. The silly six man tag with "pookie" or whoever wasn't crapped on either. I'm coming up with all sorts of awful Wrestlemania matches and main events that weren't "hijacked" I bet I come up with more that weren't hijacked than where. So much for that "vocal smarks are always hot and they will hijack Wrestlemania haven't you watched in the last decade". Then I list ten awful matches including a horrible main event that weren't hijacked and you're like "oh yeah well I mean sure they didn't hijack those but somehow Orton/Batista is worse than Michael Cole/Jerry Lawler" and lets not even try to spin something that silly.

The IWC were also pretty high on Miz at the time, so his involvement wasn't looked down on. As for the rest of your choices, we always expect some "fun crap matches" to appear on Mania. It's become something of a tradition to have a match like that. Need a bathroom break, after all.

Orton/Batista won't be worse than Cole/Lawler, but it's also not supposed to be the bathroom break. It's the MAIN EVENT. Orton/Batista is the main event nobody out of high school wants to see.

New Orleons is not a hotbed smark town, the casual fan attends Mania and the smark fan attends the night after is how it usually goes. So thats my point. MOST of the time they are not in a smark town, most of the time they are not in the situation they were in so the whole "revolt" against the product is a non issue. People took the Royal Rumble and tried to make that the norm with the "disaster" predictions instead of recognizing at this time that is the only time the crowd has "hijacked" the show to any noticeable degree.

Yeah. A lot of what you say is correct, but this is far from it. Fans from EVERYWHERE come to see Mania. Mania/RAW after are the two biggest smark heavy shows of the year. The reason recent Manias haven't been as dominated by chants as the RAW after are the open air stadiums, instead of arenas.

 24. It wasn't the match with Trips that hurt him at that point. It was the transition from Punk vs. Evil Vince, to Punk vs. Trips. Punk's character came out weaker, and the pipe bombs died off soon after which hurt as well.
