Mr. McMahon and the Power Trip felt on top of the world after last week, but Shane McMahon came to the stage and rained on their parade! He set up a six man tag team bout for our main event tonight, pitting Austin, Triple H, and Regal against Benoit, Jericho, and Page! Later in the night, the Power Trip were seen talking backstage, but Triple H didn’t want any part of the strategy, saying that he will take those three punks down tonight all on his own if he has to. Benoit and Jericho are interviewed by Michael Cole, where they say that Fully Loaded is their chance to take something away from the Power Trip. Then Diamond Dallas Page is interviewed by Jonathan Coachman, saying that he’s upset at losing the Intercontinental title, but he’ll make Regal, Hunter, Austin, and X-Factor all feel the BANG!</p><p> </p><p> He likely would’ve been happier if he had gone his own, as the six man tag match did not go the way of the Power Trip! Some cheating backfired as Austin hit “The Game” with the World Heavyweight title belt, and after a quick Lionsault, Chris Jericho has pinned Triple H!</p><p> </p><p> In other action: Jeff Hardy and Billy Gunn defeated Edge and Rob Van Dam; The Big Show defeated Haku via DQ when Rikishi attacked, leading to the Island Tribe overpowering Show and leaving him on the mat after a banzai drop; Matt Hardy defeated Raven; the Dudley Boyz say that Spike had better find a really good partner in order to take them on, before defeating Too Cool to retain the World Tag Team titles; Ivory defeats Lita with a handful of her pants, leading to Trish chasing her away and then Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley calling everything off, saying they need to save it for Fully Loaded; Eddie Guerrero defeats Funaki; Test defeats Perry Saturn; The Undertaker talks about teaming with DDP at Fully Loaded, but Justin Credible and Albert say they’ll give Taker his own last ride!</p><p> </p><p> <em>Show Rating: B+</em><hr></details></p></div><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="43111" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="wDSynh8.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/wDSynh8.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p> <hr><details><summary><strong>WWF SmackDown!</strong></summary></p><p> <iframe width="220" height="180" src="<a href="https://www.youtube.com/embed/1KVxGNbkfSk?rel=0&controls=0&showinfo=0" rel="external nofollow">https://www.youtube.com/embed/1KVxGNbkfSk?rel=0&controls=0&showinfo=0"</a> frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe></p><p> </p><p> WWF SmackDown! heads into the Birmingham-Jefferson Arena in Birmingham, Alabama for another exciting episode! “The Game” Triple H starts the show coming to the ring, highly upset, saying that he’s getting damn tired of hearing Chris Jericho run his mouth, so he wants him in the ring, in the main event, tonight! “Stone Cold” comes to the ring, saying that Hunter doesn’t need to worry himself with Jericho because he’s on borrowed time until Fully Loaded. But Triple H tells the champion to shut his mouth, because it’s all about “The Game” and he is fighting for pride! He wants Jericho tonight in a two out of three falls match! Later in the evening, Jonathan Coachman talks to Mr. McMahon and Triple H, with Vince saying that “for his own good” he has told Chris Benoit to just go home tonight, but it’s clear it is only so that Benoit is not in the building. The camera catches Triple H talking to his wife, Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley, later; he makes it clear that he’s getting pretty tired of carrying this group on his back! “Coach” talks to Jericho later in the evening, where he says that he will happily defeat Hunter tonight. Not long before the match starts, Steve Austin tells Triple H that he’ll be watching his partner’s back. When “The Cerebral Assassin” tries to tell him not to, Austin insists, telling him that they stick together no matter what!</p><p> </p><p> Elsewhere in the evening, Albert is able to defeat Diamond Dallas Page, cleanly, with the Baldo Bomb. Justin claims that Albert’s win tonight was only the beginning! Page talks to Undertaker, but “The American Bad Ass” doesn’t accept an apology – he simply tells Page that if something like that happens again, he’ll be finding a different partner for Fully Loaded!</p><p> </p><p> In the main event, Triple H and Chris Jericho put on an absolute clinic of a two out of three falls match; if you weren’t watching, you missed out on a great bout! “The Game” picks up the first fall with the Pedigree, but Jericho is able to win the second using the Walls of Jericho. Steve Austin tried to interject himself into the third fall, but Triple H told him not to. Instead, he managed to catch Jericho in the Pedigree, and defeated the number one contender cleanly to end the show! What a big win for Triple H and the Power Trip!</p><p> </p><p> Also on the show: RVD is glad Jeff Hardy isn’t dodging him anymore, so now he’ll find out why he’s “The Whole Dam Show” before defeating Val Venis to retain the Hardcore title – but Jeff assaults Van Dam in the parking lot! RVD escapes without a referee coming into play; Big Show says he doesn’t care how big the Island Tribe are, he will take them on at Fully Loaded; The Godfather gives Eddie Guerrero his choice of a “lady of the night”, but after Guerrero selects one, he turns around and attacks Godfather before rolling him up for the win; William Regal makes an open challenge for the Intercontinental championship, which is answered by Al Snow, but even with the Tough Enough kids cheering him on, Regal retains the title using his “Power of the Punch”; Trish Stratus is at WWF New York, she says that Ivory is going down next, and the only name left on her hitlist is Stephanie; Rhyno defeats Grand Masta Sexay; The Undertaker defeats Dean Malenko.</p><p> </p><p> <em>Show Rating: B+</em><hr></details></p></div><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="43111" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="ZvDPOGe.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/ZvDPOGe.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p> <hr><details><summary><strong>WWF Heat</strong></summary></p><p> <iframe width="220" height="180" src="<a href="https://www.youtube.com/embed/YgkWkveCaOk?rel=0&controls=0&showinfo=0" rel="external nofollow">https://www.youtube.com/embed/YgkWkveCaOk?rel=0&controls=0&showinfo=0"</a> frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe></p><p> </p><p> Dean Malenko hits the ring, and he warns his opponent, Chris Benoit, that he had better give Malenko his all tonight! Benoit does so, giving Dean the fight he wanted, and forcing him to tap out to the Crossface. Al Snow is at WWF New York, and he talks about how proud he is of the kids he trained in Tough Enough, saying that he was happy that they were in the front row during his match on SmackDown! this past Thursday. Apparently it had come in after I had gone to bed, at about 3 AM. When I hit play on the machine, the bombastic voice of Ric Flair came barreling out at me… but it wasn’t the boasting “Nature Boy” that we all like to hear on television, it was a very angry Richard Fleihr, a tone that I had hoped to never have to hear again.</p><p> </p><p> “Eric you son of a bitch! What the hell is with you and always trying to send the Horsemen in different ways? I hope you’re ****ing happy with yourself, because Arn and I just got done seeing Tully for the last time since your head is so far up your ass that you sent him home! He’s one of the best agents we have right now, and you don’t even offer him a new contract? You better have a damn good explanation for this – not that I’ll care to listen to it! Good bye!”</p><p> </p><p> After the message was over, I started looking over papers and emails. Sure enough, there was Tully’s contract – it expired yesterday. How did this happen? I had sent a new one to him, I know I did! What is going on here? I quickly called Tully, but all I got was his wife.</p><p> </p><p> “Courtney? This is Eric Bischoff. Is Tully there?”</p><p> </p><p> “No, and after the things you said about him, you better never call here again!” *click*</p><p> </p><p> What? I didn’t even talk to Tully, hell I was expecting to see him tonight at Nitro! I don’t know what’s going on, but I plan on getting to the bottom of it.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> This was a big week, even without what happened with Tully Blanchard hanging over my head. Before Nitro, I let everyone know that I had a big idea for the future of WCW, and it requires making some small on-screen changes. I told them that I intended on setting us apart from Vince by offering what the WWF wouldn’t or couldn’t – better athletic wrestling action. I said that we would have to start putting on a few bigger spots per show, and making sure that for that I was looking at the X Division to produce a lot of that. But at the same time, I intended on slipping a little more comedy into the show, giving our fans a great balance.</p><p> [Writer’s Note: I raised the Modern and Comedy settings for the company, and match danger is up to 40% now to avoid penalties. Our actual company product hasn’t changed much, only that now the Aerial stat isn’t less effective anymore.]</p><p> </p><p> I tried to talk to Ric or Arn, but they were both avoiding me. Well, Anderson was a professional, taking my notes for commentary but not wanting to discuss anything else – he just let me know that he was very disappointed in how things transpired. I did hear Ric badmouthing Low-Ki a little, saying that he didn’t feel he could ever work with someone who wrestles like Ki so he may as well just be jobbed out and off the roster now. But Jeff Jarrett at least helped out in keeping spirits high by holding a cookout for everyone.</p><p> </p><p> After Nitro, then Bash at the Beach was over and past us, and it was a lot more noteworthy an event than I expected it to be. Both on Nitro and at the Bash I saw Paul Orndorff talking to proteges Mark Jindrak, Sean O’Haire, and Yang, teaching them about how to do better on the microphone, how to work as a more effective heel, and some in-ring psychology tips. </p><p> </p><p> I called everyone into a meeting before the show, and while I’m sure I came off a little psychotic, I made sure everyone knew that tonight was to be a big night for World Championship Wrestling and that they were to be at their best – because with the new ways we are taking the company, we don’t need people who can’t perform at their peak performance when it’s important.</p><p> </p><p> Dustin Rhodes and Chris Lovey are looking better at their gimmicks, which is a nice plus. Lash LeRoux looked to have improved some performance skills while he was in Wildside; he didn’t feel like he was best suited to the brawl based street fight, but he is going back to Wildside now anyways as I don’t really have anywhere that he fits in yet. Booker T looked to have improved at his technical skills, holding his own with Jeff during their match. Finally, Scott Steiner seemed to be improving his performance, which is already great so any better he gets is just icing on the cake.</p><p> </p><p> I did have two people try to be issues during the Bash. Chuck Palumbo was a little irritated that I told him to put over Vampiro. But I didn’t give in to him, because I’ve already given him a big storyline in having Stacy as his manager and on-screen potential girlfriend. Konnan didn’t have a problem putting over Kidman, but I made sure he was protected by a tainted loss anyways. Finally, Buff Bagwell was upset about being told to lose to Sean O’Haire. Even telling him that he would be protected wasn’t enough for him; however, O’Haire walked past and heard him complaining and told Marcus that if he didn’t do his job, he’d make sure he regretted it. As we saw on the show, Bagwell decided it best if he didn’t go into business for himself, and I had a sigh of relief over the situation.</p><p> </p><p> About a month ago, I had found out that Curt Hennig’s six month contract with All Japan was closing out. Curt is still a good talent, so I offered him a deal. He said that the WWF were also interested, but that it sounded like they just wanted to use him as almost a comedy version of his old Mr. Perfect character. While he felt he could have made it work, he would be a lot happier with what I was offering, and he’d be happy to help put WCW back on the map. When he arrived at the Long Beach Arena, I ribbed him by saying that he would have to do his run-in from under the ring and worried him a little by telling him to watch out for any buckets under there – but when he spoke with Booker and Jeff, they told him it was a joke. He took it in good stride, and the rest of the locker room liked the callback to some of Curt’s own famous ribs. I debuted him as a cocky style Old School Face, and it seems to have gone over to an Average rating. Another change was Hugh Morrus, who’s heel turn was a complete success. He is going to be using a Bully gimmick from here out, and it looked to have been Great. On the next Nitro, we will reveal a few more changes for him that made me pretty excited for him.</p><p> </p><p> The big change was that a few hours before show time, Scott Hudson came up to me and let me know that no one had seen Kevin Nash yet tonight. We waited as long as we could before calling the motel that he was to have been staying at, but they said that no one like him had ever checked in. I tried to call him, but there was no answer. I don’t know what’s going on with Kevin, but that was when I started to scramble. Harley Race came through for me in finding out that Jake Roberts wasn’t far away, so we called him up and got him to agree to work with Goldberg for the night. However… it didn’t take long into the match to realize that Jake and his “demons” were up to their old habits, and when he got backstage Goldberg’s excitement in working with a legend was completely flipped around as he asked me what we were thinking by putting him in the ring against all these drugged out rejects lately. Needless to say, I’m not sure if we will ever have a place for Jake again if this is what he did when he was given a chance on a one night deal.</p><p> </p><p> I held a speech again after the show, where I complimented Scott Steiner, pointed out Sting as a good example, and praised Goldberg for his performance. Scott was very happy to get more praise from me (hopefully I’m not creating a monster here!) while the other two seemed pleased with my words. I did hear Goldberg and Scott talking during the pre-show about how they didn’t think that Kid Kash or Norman Smiley could ever connect with the fans.</p><p> </p><p> Along with Tully (somehow) leaving WCW, after the Bash, the contracts for Tylene Buck (Major Gunns) and Vanessa Sanchez (Tygress) have expired. Technically they’d have run out last month, but I retained their services for one more appearance since I knew I was looking to hold the bikini contest. So they made their appearance, got their money, and are out of WCW now. Like I’ve said of others, I’m not ruling out them appearing again in the future, but for right now they are unnecessary mouths to feed, so to speak.</p><p> </p><p> When I looked over the Observer report after the show, it looks like the importance of Bash at the Beach has been called Above Average now, joining the ranks of the Great American Bash. Dave said of it that “Bash at the Beach was once a fairly important show, but the past few years had left it feeling rather unimportant. But after some strong booking and showing in the new WCW, I’m looking forward to what comes next.” Dave also reported that Chris Adams is looking to retire from his semi-active career, and Mike Graham has just done so. And Killer Kowalski is going to leave the business at this time next month.</p><p> </p><p> So yeah… a day later, I still wasn’t able to talk to Ric or Arn about Tully, and I still can’t get in touch with Kevin Nash. I don’t know what all this means, but hopefully I will get to the bottom of it soon.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Prediction Contest Results" data-cite="Prediction Contest Results" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="43111" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p> So despite the change made to Goldberg vs. Nash, I still counted it, meaning there were still twelve points on the board.</p><p> </p><p> bonnie: 6</p><p> cbacon87: 7</p><p> crackerjack: 5</p><p> Crossface: 9</p><p> Destiny: 7</p><p> DGenerationMC: 8</p><p> James The Animator: 5</p><p> Rhyme1234: 7</p><p> Satyr24: 5</p><p> TheBigBad1013: 3</p><p> to4sty: 8</p><p> Warhawk8492: 7</p><p> </p><p> With a big nine points on the board, Crossface wins this month! I will be getting in touch with him directly for a prize that I have deemed worthy of his hard earned victory! I say hard earned because I’m sure a lot of months my winners probably feel completely out of left field – a lot like someone having the most falls in an iron man match yet still somehow losing the match, which no one opted for! Good call for cbacon to be the only one to call Goldberg vs. Nash not happening.</p><p> </p><p> @crackerjack: Plenty of more material yet to come in this game! Something going down with Kevin Nash is part of the fun plans that are happening now.</p><p> </p><p> @BigBad: Hopefully BatB was what you hoped it would be!</p><p> </p><p> @James: I can't help but occasionally being tough to predict; but don't feel too bad, nobody got a perfect score. I find that to be a challenge I won, because it means I'm keeping everyone guessing!</p></div></blockquote>
  3. <p>World Championship Wrestling presents WCW Bash at the Beach: Lust for the Gold</p><p> </p><p> Our resident video narrator lights the candles, and Vampiro talks over images of Goldberg, Scott Steiner, Kevin Nash, Ric Flair, and Sting, describing the sin of Lust.</p><p> <em>“Lust is a powerful tool. It drives men. It pushes you to great lengths. It can force you into situations you never would have imagined. Lust can destroy souls as your morals collapse under the weight of your own desires, whether what you are chasing is love, money, or respect. Your lust sickens me. Your mind rots. Your body is left impure. Your soul is sold for whatever petty object that you think you need. Tonight, the beach is the scene where lust takes shape. He tells Jeremy that he needs to keep his cool in times like this because with this being his first Bash at the Beach, he could get too excited with all the lights and glamour. His advice? <em>“Picture someone nearby as having no clothes on… wait, not me!”</em> Gene shills his column on WCW.com has a story about a man who trained many wrestlers is about to leave the wrestling business, so look there for information on who this legend is. With that, Gene welcomes his guest at this time: the sixteen time World champion, “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair! Flair is his typical animated self tonight, talking about how tonight is the night that he, Sting, and Dustin Rhodes show the Steiner Brothers and Animal that you can’t kill tradition! That you can’t bury WCW! And that you can’t take out “The Naaaaiiiit-cha Boy”! Ric talks about how the person who scores the most falls will go on to get the first World title shot, saying that he doesn’t care how he has to do it, but he will be the man getting that shot. He says that sixteen is sweet, but seventeen would be sweeter, and Scott Steiner can’t run from his title match forever. When Gene asks him if he would screw over Sting or Dustin in order to have the most falls even if it means they may lose the match, Flair tells him that he is “The Dirtiest Player in the Game” for a reason, and that’s because while he plans on winning the match, for him, Ric Flair comes first. He closes by saying that <em>“Tonight, six men walk that aisle to bleed, sweat, and pay the price for thirty minutes – diamonds are forever and so is Ric Flair, and that’s why only the strongest and most willing to take the chance will survive. WOOOOO!”</em> Gene and Jeremy wish Flair luck in the match, as he heads backstage to prepare himself. With Mysterio out of the match this month, Kidman takes all of his high flying and puts it to use, but as Mike Tenay points out, “K-Dawg” is a veteran of the Lucha Libre style and has an answer for most of his tactics. Konnan gets the crowd rolling along with him, but when he goes for the back kick that usually sets up the K-Factor facebuster, Kidman catches his foot. Taking quick notice that young referee Rudy Charles isn’t in position, he kicks Konnan between the legs! However, this is wrestling and Lance Storm has been on a huge roll over the past few months (win-loss record notwithstanding) and he takes Miller down and holds him there. He assaults the back of Miller, applying various stretching submission holds before locking in the Canadian Maple Leaf. Scott Hudson feels this will especially be brutal due to the attack that Miller suffered this past Friday at the hands of Mike Awesome. Once that is hooked in, it takes no time at all for The Cat to realize he has no option but to tap out, conceding the match to the man who feels he’s the best pro wrestler in the world.</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:right;"><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em>Match Time: 2:40</em></span></p><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em> Notes: This match was designed to calm the crowd, and they did so as planned.</em></span></p><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em> Rating: C-</em></span></p></div><p></p><p><hr></details></p></div><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i.imgur.com/1D13aft.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/QDX2HET.jpg?1</span></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> Back in the interview area again, “Mean” Gene and Jeremy Borash are seen discussing something major that could happen tonight. Gene says that this is a momentous occasion, the coming of a brand new WCW grand slam! Okerlund asks Jeremy to explain what that means, but he struggles with telling fans because it appears he didn’t expect to have to explain. But the explanation comes out that it means someone who has won four of WCW’s exclusive championships while all four were active – and in this case, that means the World Heavyweight, United States, Television, and World Tag Team titles. Jeremy reads off that the list currently consists of Sting, Lex Luger, Scott Steiner, Diamond Dallas Page, and Chris Benoit, but later tonight that list could also include Booker T. Gene talks a little about how this will be a very special accomplishment, and it will mean a lot for his career. Douglas plays mind games to start, frustrating the young Styles by keeping his distance and walking around the ring. AJ slips up pretty quickly, showing his inexperience, and “The Franchise” takes full advantage. He grounds him and goes to work on his legs, which Arn says is a great strategy when your opponent is known for taking to the air. The tide turns when Styles comes back with an enzigiri, but his first instinct is to take to the air and that’s when Douglas’s tactics pay off big time. AJ stumbles on his springboard, and that’s all Shane needed to shake the ropes and cause him to drop rather unceremoniously on the ropes. From there, he drags AJ toward the center of the ring and locks in a figure four leglock, and while Styles tries to fight through the pain initially, his best option is to tap out and hope for a better showing in round two.</p><p> </p><p> Styles is obviously hobbled at the eight minute mark of the match, and Douglas goes after it like a shark smelling blood in the water. Mike Tenay calls it “almost criminal” the way he is punishing Styles, especially when AJ never did anything to deserve the ire of “The Franchise” except be an up-and-coming star in WCW. Shane delivers a knee drop with AJ’s leg between his own to cause some excruciating pain, and while AJ is down and Charles Robinson is checking on him, Douglas talks to the nearest camera, saying that he’ll put this boy down in two easy falls! After getting Robinson out of his way, Shane looks like he wants to lock on another figure four, but takes a split second too long in the set up and finds himself pulled over into a small package! Styles holds on, and at 10:43, this match is quickly tied at one fall apiece!</p><p> </p><p> Now we are at the winning fall, and Shane Douglas is furious at Styles, at Robinson, and at himself for finding himself in a compromised position, and he doesn’t intend on letting it happen again. He fires right after AJ, locking him up in the corner and stomping him down onto the mat. Charles threatens to disqualify him if he keeps it up, so Douglas pulls AJ out of the corner and whips him hard into the other side – but Styles deftly leaps onto the ropes and comes back with a blind crossbody! He catches Shane squarely in the chest with his body, but only scores a near fall. As Styles checks to make sure it wasn’t three, Douglas is caught by the camera pulling the chain out of his boot. He starts trying to stealthily wrap it around his fist – but AJ catches him and steps on the chain! He gives Shane a low dropkick, causing him to drop it, and hands the chain over to Robinson. Tenay talks about how for once, Douglas was unable to use that as a factor; he’s going to have to beat AJ on his own! Styles follows up on his advantage as the crowd get behind him, and he starts delivering some high impact offense that rocks Douglas. “The Franchise” seems to have no counter for Styles now that he’s on top of his game, so he tries sliding to the outside. But that gives AJ a chance to deliver a huge no hands somersault plancha to Douglas on the floor! As Charles Robinson administers the ten count, both men stir slowly, with AJ rolling in to break the count first. Douglas takes his time, but takes a baseball slide for his troubles – wait, he caught Styles’s legs, and he uses them to slide him across the mat and jams AJ’s head against the turnbuckle post! Styles looks knocked out, and Douglas re-enters the ring very quickly now. He lifts the dazed kid up and delivers a rather unnecessary Franchiser, making a cover, and despite how much the crowd and Scott Hudson try to cheer AJ on to kick out, he gets counted down for the three.</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:right;"><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em>Match Time: 17:05</em></span></p><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em> Notes: This match got the crowd hotter, they really wanted to see Shane get his. This is a power match more than anything, with Luger and Bagwell resorting to any trick in the book to keep the champions off guard but the youth and athleticism of the Thrillers making the fans stay on their side to will them on to victory.</p><p> </p><p> Madusa becomes involved by tripping Jindrak as he ran the ropes, causing him to get double teamed in the corner. “The Total Package” hits a succession of slams on him, one big gorilla press slam in particular that nearly wins the titles for them. Buff also almost wins the bout with a fisherman’s suplex, but the match tips in the NBT’s favor when Luger winds up a big clothesline that hits Bagwell by mistake! In the ensuing argument, Jindrak tags out to O’Haire, who comes in like a house of fire and takes both men down with a superkick and a spinkick. He hits Bagwell with a scoop powerslam near the turnbuckles, going up to the top and hitting the Seanton Bomb to get the win and retain the championships! The interview is short but he plays the crowd masterfully, asking if they think we’re going to see a new US champion. He asks if they think we’re going to see a brand new grand slam champion. He asks if they think “The Chosen One” is going to get his mouth shut by Booker T. The fans all cheer each time he asks, and in disgust he replies that it ain’t gonna happen, because the only way they’ll take this United States title away from Jeff Jarrett is by prying it out of his cold, dead hands! And since he doesn’t plan on dying in this ring tonight, then it looks like that colossal slapnut Booker will have to find someone else’s title to go after because this one belongs to “The Chosen One” already! Jarrett starts utilizing some of his “Memphis heel” stalling tactics to slow the match down, but Booker doesn’t let him get away with that for long as he heads out of the ring to meet him. Mike Tenay wonders if Booker was watching Shane Douglas earlier and saw those sort of actions and decided he would not fall prey to it like AJ Styles did. Booker chases Jarrett around the ring before chasing him into the ring, but as Arn Anderson points out, you never be the second man to enter the ring, and the champion drops a knee across Booker’s back to take over. Jarrett delivers a few quick fist drops to stun Booker T, before locking in a reverse chinlock.</p><p> </p><p> “The Chosen One” seems to have everything well in hand when Booker starts getting riled up and to his feet. He fires Jarrett off to the ropes to break the hold, coming back with a forearm that puts Jarrett down, letting Booker take back over. The advantage continually see-saws back and forth, as the challenger will take over after some explosive combination but typically the champion will come back by using the ropes, the tights, or even Booker’s hair against him to stay in the lead. Jeff even resorts at one point to locking in an abdominal stretch and grabbing the top rope, which Arn chuckles at because he says that he and partners like Tully Blanchard and the late Larry Zbyszko made that exact technique infamous so he definitely can’t fault Jarrett for using what is proven to work as a great “wear down” hold. Nick Patrick finally catches him and forces him to break the hold, but when Jeff goes for the Stroke, Booker slips away and hits a crescent kick that ends up leaving both of them on the mat.</p><p> </p><p> Booker starts mounting a comeback again, hitting a missile dropkick that gets a near fall. The champion is weakened, but Booker is unable to put him away, as Jarrett causes Booker to fall across the top rope when he tried to go to the top again. Jeff delivers a superplex that again leaves both men on the ground, and Nick Patrick begins to administer a ten count. It of course doesn’t reach ten before both men get to their feet, and they start trading punches. But when Jarrett ducks under Booker’s big side kick, it ends up meeting Patrick instead, taking him out for the foreseeable future. Booker starts checking on Nick, and that’s when Jarrett sees his chance. He heads out of the ring and grabs his trusted Acoustic Equalizer. He lines up his shot, starting to wait for Booker to turn around. However, before he can, someone jumps the railing and gets into the ring, taking the guitar away and leaving the ring with it!</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <img alt="O8DMSDO.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/O8DMSDO.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><div style="text-align:center;"></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> It’s Curt Hennig! Scott Hudson quips that Tylene “would never make it in law school like Reese Witherspoon in Legally Blonde, but you don’t need brains for the Lust Bikini Contest!” Kiebler’s performance is good as she gives a nice dance to the crowd while removing her the towel around her waist to reveal her bikini bottoms. He gets the microphone from Goldberg and silences the crowd. Roberts says that he hasn’t been in a WCW ring for a long time, but it looks as though his appearance was needed tonight. He talks about Goldberg blaming Nash for playing mind games, but says that he invented them. Nash can manipulate hearts and minds, but “The Snake” created that game. And now, he has come here in a new decade, a new WCW, to a new star, to prove that to make his mark on the world of wrestling going forward, all he needs is three things from his past: D-D-T! Jake underperformed in this role as the fans were really hoping for Nash or even Scott Hall, but only got someone who hasn’t been on a national stage since 1996. His strategy remains similar to any other time: move forward and destroy. But the wily “Snake” is a tough one to do that with, as he is a master of manipulating space in the wrestling ring. Mike Tenay mentions that we will hopefully have an update about Kevin Nash on Friday Nitro, but for now they are going to sit back and enjoy the action they have been given right here. Goldberg’s power game is somewhat mitigated when Roberts hits a knee lift before he starts working over his arm, lining up and utilizing a short-arm clothesline that has always been the front runner for the inevitable DDT. But while that setup had always proven to spell the end for most men, Goldberg is not “most men.” In the quick second between the hooking of his head and the snap of the maneuver, “Da Man” lifts Jake up and slams him down hard onto the mat! He follows up with the Spear, and a big Jackhammer quickly makes “The Snake” into victim number 110.</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:right;"><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em>Match Time: 7:26</em></span></p><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em> Notes: There was a lack of selling in this short match. He goes over the rules of this Iron Man Challenge. The bout will take place for thirty minutes. Falls are counted by pinfall, submission, count out, disqualification, or referee stoppage. There will be no rest breaks, however when one team member loses a fall, another must come in to replace him. The World Heavyweight championship is not on the line, but the man with the most falls at the end, regardless of the team that is victorious with the most combined falls, will be named the number one contender for the championship! And finally, if Scott Steiner is that man with the most falls at the end of thirty minutes, then all five others will be removed from title contention until they work back up the rankings. With that, it is time to begin the Iron Man Challenge! Flair does what he does best and begins playing with the mind of “The DFG” as he uses several false starts to get under his skin. This fails horrifically however when Steiner utilizes a vicious Steinerline that puts “The Nature Boy” on the mat hard! He nearly scores a very early pinfall here, but Flair is able to kick out. All three heels take some time to get some licks in as they tag in and out – and sometimes they don’t, instead opting to just hammer Flair from the outside – but as Flair gets manhandled by Rick, “The Dirtiest Player in the Game” finds his way out of the predicament with a well placed Greco-Roman Thumb To The Eye, hooking in an arm wringer and pulling Rick into the face side of the ring to tag in Dustin. The faces begin working over Steiner, tagging in and out quickly and wearing him out. The first fall of the match goes to “The Prodigal Son” as he delivers a bulldog to Rick and scores a pinfall at 7:34.</p><p> </p><p> Rick leaves the ring and Animal charges in, hitting a big clothesline on Rhodes. Dustin fights back, throwing a lot of his best offense at the huge Road Warrior, but Animal shrugs most of it off before shoving Dustin into the turnbuckles and dominating him with brutish punches and kicks. Animal irish whips Dustin and follows up with a powerslam, but Sting comes in and breaks up a pinfall attempt. This brings all the combatants into the ring, and it’s a wild six man brawl! Flair, Sting, and Rhodes get Scott, Animal, and Rick (respectively) into corners and all three get the crowd into it by going up and delivering ten punches to each of them! When the heels all drop to the mat, all three faces go up to the top ropes. When each get to their feet, Rhodes delivers a clothesline while Sting and Flair do big cross body blocks, and all three make covers – and Nick Patrick counts all three! Dustin has two falls while Sting and Flair each gain one apiece at 10:18!</p><p> </p><p> With only twenty minutes left, it looks like time for the heels to get serious, as they hold a discussion outside the ring. Scott doesn’t take this well, calling Animal a big dumb piece of crap before telling him to get in there and quit screwing this up! The heels, now that they are more or less on the same page, zero in on Flair. Scott Steiner enters the ring with a lot of pomp, delivering a swinging belly to belly suplex that crashes Flair on the mat. “Big Poppa Pump” kisses his bicep before dropping an elbow onto the small of Flair’s back, but Ric kicks out before another fall is made. Steiner does some push-ups, making it look as though it didn’t bother him, but he scurries to cut Flair off before he can make a tag out. Scott is all business now as he screams that “This old sack of shit is finished!” before hooking in the Steiner Recliner!</p><p> </p><p> But Ric refuses to submit! Arn starts yelling that there’s still a little over fifteen minutes left, he has to tap out or he might get pulled out of the match by injury! The fans are screaming for him to fight out of it, but he doesn’t seem able to. Finally Scott, in a fit of anger, throws him down, before yelling to Midajah. Despite Rick and Animal being confused and asking what he thinks he’s doing, she slides Scott the lead pipe. Nick Patrick stands in his way, but Scott shoves him aside before nailing Ric in the back with it! Patrick calls for the bell, Scott has been disqualified and Flair goes up to two falls!</p><p> </p><p> But only the loser of the fall gets forced out of the ring, so Rick rushes in quickly, and he makes a cover! With Scott and Animal standing guard, Flair easily is pinned, giving the Steiners and Animal their first fall in the bout. Sting enters the ring now, and he hammers Rick with punches and chops. But a blind tag goes out to Scott, and he re-enters the ring with a vengeance, hitting Sting with a vicious tackle reminiscent of Goldberg’s spear. Steiner rains punches and forearms down on Sting, who isn’t able to block all of them. After a brutal flurry, Sting’s arms go down to the mat, and the World champion makes the cover, gaining his own first fall as we enter the halfway point of the bout.</p><p> </p><p> A dazed Sting is taken out of the ring, leaving only Dustin to come into the fray. Scott Hudson quips that beating on Sting was almost as brutal as some of the kicks thrown by Jet Li in his new movie Kiss of the Dragon. Rhodes charges “Freakzilla” but is met by a clubbing forearm. He lifts Rhodes into the air and bench presses him into a gorilla press, before dropping him flat on the mat! He tags out to Animal, who comes in and does the same, delivering a gorilla press slam of his own before making a pin. Rhodes kicks out, but it isn’t looking good for him as Animal continues delivering brutal, methodical punishment. Dustin fights back by ducking beneath an attempted back body drop and punches Animal in the jaw, stunning him briefly. He takes this moment to head to the middle rope, but this doesn’t work out for him as Animal catches him and delivers a ring shaking powerslam! Rhodes is down and out, and Animal scores a pinfall at twelve minutes remaining.</p><p> </p><p> It is now that Scott Steiner’s full plans come into fruition, as Flair and Sting are both too beaten to healthily enter the ring. But with Sting still on the ground, Ric is forced back into the ring. Scott orders Animal to tag him back in, but Animal doesn’t do so. Instead, he delivers a big clothesline to Flair, but Scott tags himself in on Animal’s back! Animal gets in his face, but Scott tells him to get out of the ring before he beats his ass too! Nick Patrick keeps this from becoming an issue as he ushers Animal out to the apron, and this time when Steiner hooks in the Steiner Recliner, it takes almost no time at all for Ric to submit, putting Scott up to two falls. Mike Tenay points out that we are currently standing as five falls for Flair’s team and four for Steiner’s, with Flair, Rhodes, and Scott all holding two falls while Sting, Rick, and Animal all have one.</p><p> </p><p> Dustin is forced to get back into the ring due to circumstances, but it appears he has found his second wind as he goes right after Scott with newfound vigor. He starts delivering elbows to Scott’s forehead, but before he can do the final blow, Rick enters the ring. He starts doing elbows to him instead, and starts going back and forth between the Steiners, spinning his fists above his head and gyrating his crotch toward them, before turning around and laying out Animal with a bionic elbow! Then lays out Rick with a bionic elbow! Then lays out Scott with a bionic elbow! “The Prodigal Son” is returning to his roots, claims Arn Anderson, saying that he and Flair have seen this type of action out of his father for years. But what they haven’t seen from Dusty is that he sets Animal and Rick up in opposite corners as Scott rolls out of the ring. But Dustin knows just what he’s doing, as do the crowd – it’s about time for some Shattered Dreams! Nick Patrick tries to stand in the way, but Rhodes blows right past him and delivers a field goal kick right between the legs of Rick Steiner! Nick turns to call for the bell, but that doesn’t stop the proceedings as Dustin turns and hands out another field goal kick to Animal! There’s a moment of confusion as Nick talks to David Penzer, who makes an announcement: that not only has Dustin Rhodes been disqualified, his blatant disregard for the referee’s words has forced Nick to give both Rick and Animal a fall as well as removing one of Dustin’s earlier wins! Mike Tenay says that one move has changed the course of this match dramatically with eight minutes remaining!</p><p> </p><p> As Animal is helped out of the ring, Rick Steiner is caught in the crossfire as he is still in the ring yet was not the last one given a fall… and the cunning “Nature Boy” makes the most of it by coming in from behind and catching him with a school boy roll up! With that, Flair goes up another fall, and he is now in the lead! But Scott Steiner comes in with his own Steinerline, and Flair is right back on the mat. Steiner takes a look at the Nitrovision screen, seeing that we are all tied up with six falls per team, so he lays on the pressure and looks like he wants to put Flair out of the bout. He hands out belly to belly suplexes to Flair, further injuring his back to try and put him away. But as he pulls Ric up to his feet, Flair makes a split second precise attack to give a low blow to Steiner just as Nick Patrick wasn’t watching! Flair starts crawling for the ropes, reaching out… and makes the tag to Sting! “The Stinger” rushes Steiner, having recovered from the beating earlier and now he wants to make him pay! Scott looks for someone to tag, but this time he’s the one who’s on his own! Sting hits a face buster to stun Steiner, and as Scott climbs to his feet shaking out the cobwebs, he backs into the turnbuckle. It’s a big mistake as he gets hit with a Stinger Splash! Sting pounds his chest, screaming to his fans, before delivering a Scorpion Deathdrop! He thinks about making a cover, but instead goes for the legs and gets ready to apply the Scorpion Deathlock! He pulls Steiner into the center of the ring and steps through, hooking the legs – but he gets cut off… </p><p> </p><p> … by Dustin Rhodes! </p><p> </p><p> The fans boo Dustin for this action, and Sting starts arguing with him! Cameras pick up Dustin telling him he has to get another fall, not Sting, and the two good guys, who Hudson points out have been friends for practically Dustin’s entire career, have fallen victim to the lust of the gold! They very nearly come to blows, but Scott Steiner clotheslines them both down! He shoves Rhodes out of the ring angrily, before putting Sting up on the top turnbuckle. He forearms Sting in the jaw, before climbing up in front of him. Everyone on commentary isn’t sure if they can believe what they are seeing – but “Big Poppa Pump” surprises everyone by pulling out the Frankensteiner! This time there is no one breaking up falls, and Scott goes up to three falls in this match, with only three minutes remaining!</p><p> </p><p> Sting is pushed out of the ring, and Scott drags Dustin back in. He argues briefly with Patrick about it, but Nick lets it stand. Scott needs one more fall and he will put everyone else in the match out of title contention, and he has three minutes to do it, so he starts delivering explosive suplexes that hurl Rhodes all around the ring. Feeling like he only needs one more big move to close this match, he sets Dustin up on his shoulders. The champion then climbs up onto the middle turnbuckle and delivers an avalanche samoan drop! He motions that this is done, and he hooks Rhodes in the Steiner Recliner! This should be over any second now!</p><p> </p><p> Unless Animal breaks it up! He shoves Scott, forcing him to lose his footing. Rick gets in Animal’s face, and the two burly heels tackle each other! They fall out of the ring, and it’s a big brawl going on! With that out of the way, “Big Poppa Pump” stomps on Dustin’s back and hooks the Recliner in again. It looks as though the time is just counting down, and he confidently knows that Rhodes can’t hold on much longer!</p><p> </p><p> But Flair attacks with the title belt from behind! Nick Patrick was watching Rick and Animal, and doesn’t see the strike! Scott slumps over, and Flair gets rid of the evidence before rolling up Scott! Nick turns around and sees the cover – and with only ten seconds left, Flair steals a pinfall! Everyone rushes the ring, but the fans count down the time!</p><p> </p><p> 10! </p><p> </p><p> Rick charges Flair, trying to get his hands on him!</p><p> </p><p> 9!</p><p> </p><p> Animal pulls Rick back, clearly not finished with the fight they were having!</p><p> </p><p> 8!</p><p> </p><p> Sting flies in, hitting both of them with a big crossbody off the top rope!</p><p> </p><p> 7!</p><p> </p><p> Dustin comes in, and he shoves Flair out of the ring!</p><p> </p><p> 6!</p><p> </p><p> Flair pulls Dustin out, and the two of them start trading punches and chops!</p><p> </p><p> 5!</p><p> </p><p> Nick Patrick looks over the situation and sees Sting start covering Animal!</p><p> </p><p> 4!</p><p> </p><p> Rick starts checking on Scott, who tells him to get Sting!</p><p> </p><p> 3!</p><p> </p><p> Nick starts the count for Sting’s pin – this would force the match into overtime!</p><p> </p><p> 2!</p><p> </p><p> Flair and Dustin both charge in, and they stop the Steiners from breaking it up!</p><p> </p><p> 1!</p><p> </p><p> The bell sounds – but Nick was only able to count to two! Gene says it has to be a little heartbreaking for Sting and Dustin, as with only one fall apiece to each of them, they may find themselves shuffled to the bottom of the World title division. But they say that it was “one heckuva bout” and could be one of the most shocking matches in wrestling history as we saw everyone give it their all, including turning on their own teammates to try and sate their own lust for the gold. Tony says that hopefully this Friday night on Nitro, we will hear what the rankings are going to look like moving ahead. Flair says that he’s a little disappointed that his team didn’t pick up the victory, however he won enough falls that he will definitely be in the running for the World’s championship, so now it’s time for the limousine ridin’, jet flyin’, kiss stealin’, wheelin’ dealin’ “Nature Boy” to get his shot at Scott Steiner! Woooo! The rest of the panel congratulate Booker on his victory, though Lovey points out that while he isn’t here to rain on anyone’s parade, it did help a lot that Curt Hennig decided to step in and take the guitar away from Jarrett. (D+)</p><p> </p><p> Cameras catch up with Jake “The Snake” Roberts, who says that it looks like Goldberg proved himself as “The Man” tonight. [Writer’s Note: Yes their name is retconned. No it will not be explained. WCW.] They give a small history lesson, discussing that Bash at the Beach has been running every July since 1994 and has featured such huge main events as Hulk Hogan vs. Ric Flair (1994), the beginning of the New World Order (1996), Dennis Rodman’s wrestling debut (1997), Hulk Hogan and Dennis Rodman vs. DDP and Karl Malone (1998), and just last year we saw two matches which are being revisited tonight, Jeff Jarrett vs. Booker T and Goldberg vs. Kevin Nash. First he thanks everyone for his patience, as he couldn’t come to this decision easily as there are just too many challengers and only one World champion to go around. After also thanking the good people at the Long Beach Arena in Long Beach, California for hosting this year’s Bash at the Beach on July 15th, he commences to his big announcement. He says that Scott Steiner revolves around the championship entirely, which always seems to bring his brother Rick into play. Sting won the number one contendership match, but Animal keeps getting in his path. Dustin Rhodes wants a title shot, and Ric Flair defeated Steiner by disqualification at the Great American Bash. These are just a few of the names that he could give the bout to, but instead he is going to make things more interesting. In order to cause a sole number one contender, Eric is going to make a six tag team match for the Bash at the Beach pitting Sting, Ric Flair, and Dustin Rhodes against the Steiner Brothers and Animal. But to ensure we find out who is the cream of the crop, this match will be a half hour Iron Man Challenge match! The amount of falls the team makes during the match will determine the winner of the bout for their team, but also the amount of falls a single person makes during the match will determine their position in the World Heavyweight championship rankings. With that, Eric thanks everyone again for their patience and hopes they enjoy the rest of the show. (Rating: B) <hr></details></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> We go to The Worldwide Panel, where they talk about our main event, the 30 minute Iron Man Challenge. Tony goes around the room asking for who everyone predicts will win the match but also who will end up with the most falls. Jeremy thinks Ric Flair could pick up the most falls, with Flair’s team getting the victory. Stevie Ray has faced off with everyone in the match but thinks Scott Steiner will come out on top as both most falls and winning team. “Mean” Gene says that he thinks Flair will get the most falls, but that the team of the Steiners and Animal will be too much to overcome. Chris wonders what would happen if Rick Steiner wins the most falls and thus earn himself a title match; but thinks that Dustin Rhodes’s age will help him outlast everyone to get the most falls and also get his team to victory. Tony says that he thinks that Flair, Sting, and Rhodes will come out with the win, with Sting taking home the most falls. But these are only predictions – the only way to find out is by ordering the show! Awesome says that if anyone backstage wants to step up and try not to get their career killed, come out here right now to face him in a hardcore match! After bringing up that it was Goldberg last year who cost Scott his job with WCW, Nash warns Goldberg not to show up to Bash at the Beach so he can start his retirement a night early, because if he does show up then he may not get the “calm, collected ‘Big Sexy’ we all know and love”! </p><p> Goldberg comes out to the ring, but not for a match tonight. 8. I voted for "what was next" as I really like that logo; hence why I use it in my WCW. Plus it was already all over the place before WCW even closed down, so it's a pretty easy transition were this a real life thing and you would have to deal with rebranding and all.
  9. Damn, crucifying a priest? The PTC are gonna be all over the WWF this week, perhaps even to the point that Vince wants to make his own stable representing how much he hates them!
  10. <p>I really liked Starrcade! The stage seems set for some changes to the dynamic of WCW now that you've reached 2002, but the first one I can see coming is Jeff Jarrett going after Sting again. Now that he has retiring Randy out of the way, it only seems right.</p><p> </p><p> DDP</p><p> Ernest Miller - <em>Kind of a way to thank him for putting up with Ric's antics at Starrcade.</em></p><p> Stasiak and Jindrak - <em>They took a big loss at Starrcade, this should help put the Invaders back on the map again.</em></p><p> Cash - <em>Cash cheating to win here could give him a new feud against Billy.</em></p><p> Kanyon and Awesome</p><p> Vampiro</p>
  11. <p>Rey Mysterio</p><p> Booker T</p><p> Sting</p><p> Totally Buff</p>
  12. <p>I liked seeing Nash go all dominant on the last Raw. At the same time, I think things are really taking shape with where JPL goes at Halloween Havoc and perhaps even beyond that. The Clique really are ruling the wrestling world.</p><p> </p><p> Kevin Nash - <em>By hook or by crook, Nash steps into the title match. Not sure what to think about Austin getting beaten twice in two weeks though.</em></p><p> Mankind - <em>I think I forgot to mention it previously, but I love Pillman and Mankind in Hell in a Cell. Instead of having a brutal Undertaker, you have two of the most insane men on the roster going at it inside the Cell. It's a great idea, one that I wouldn't have had in a thousand years. Can't wait to see it!</em></p><p> Scott Steiner</p><p> The Dudley Boyz?</p><p> Wrath</p><p> Matt Hardy - <em>Matt sneaks out another win, but unless he doesn't end up on the card I get a gut feeling he won't be retaining past Bad Blood.</em></p><p> </p><p> JPL - <em>At this point either Lex or Giant are going to turn heel I'm pretty sure, but I'm not sure which one it will be.</em></p><p> ToW - <em>Warrior tips the scales by a lot.</em></p><p> DDP</p><p> Goldberg</p><p> SST - <em>They have to pick up a win somehow or else they're looking like fools.</em></p><p> Lance Storm - <em>Title change! His Lordship will have to enjoy his cucumber sandwiches without a shiny gold plate.</em></p><p> Eddie Guerrero - <em>Tajiri stepping up against Mortis was pretty cool, but it isn't going to lead him to any gold yet.</em></p>
  13. <p>I almost hate losing Bigelow any time, but it also kinda works out sometimes because it clears the way for a younger monster to tear things up in his absence. TOOT TOOT!!</p>
  15. I really liked seeing Wendi show up. Her against Madusa is a match that people can get behind for the Women's title, as the only other "names" left behind from the women's divisions are mostly either too old to be a threat like Lelani Kai or not known well enough to be a short-term threat like Misty Blue. But everyone can remember Wendi Richter, and this instantly makes her both credible and able to handle her own business against the Terminator that is Madusa.
  16. Really liked Big Bang! I was pleasantly surprised to see my main boy Scotty Steiner on top again, and Booker left completely in the cold. I have a feeling something is up with Michael Hardwinder, though. You haven't given any sort of hint toward that, just a gut feeling that I have. Sting - The Stinger is going to take the US title back up to the #2 status it had in the 80s and early 90s. Kanyon - I thought that Animal could be the one here, due to his role in the M7, but he lost to DDP. Then I thought nah, has to be Douglas; but he's not really on much of a big win. Not like Kanyon, who just sent someone packing from the whole company. He gets the shot. Jung Dragons Air Raid Totally Buff Team Canada - Maybe a big ruse to bring Elix and Kid into the reformed Team Canada stable?
  17. <p>Bret Hart - <em>Though I would imagine this will turn into a triple threat at some point ahead of Badd Blood.</em></p><p> Mankind - <em>Raven is pretty wayward right now, so Manny picking up the win ahead of HiaC should be a no brainer.</em></p><p> Ric Flair - <em>Barry being added to this feud makes a lot of sense, but he isn't going over here.</em></p><p> NAO</p><p> Nelson - <em>What the heck dude, forcing me to pick Mabel for wins and stuff? It may not be here, but he'll pick up some kind of win.</em></p><p> </p><p> JPL - <em>I really dug the Sting angle on Nitro, it makes me wonder what's coming next. He doesn't seem limited to only being against the ToW anymore.</em></p><p> Savage and Buff - <em>A big win for the Buffer, teaming with Savage can only help him.</em></p><p> Warrior</p><p> Goldberg</p><p> SST - <em>So this is Samu and Tama, I would assume? A pairing with Rock and Rikishi would do great for them, and I feel like perhaps you are hinting that in saying they could use guidance.</em></p><p> Finlay and Storm</p><p> Kevin Sullivan - <em>So did you purposely give them a weird name just so Rock could make fun of it?</em> <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>
  18. <p>Really excited for the Bash, James!</p><p> </p><p> Rick Rude - <em>Austin looks like this would be a great place for a turn, but I think you're going to hold off on it. However, Rude takes advantage and scores the win with a fluke rollup on Stunning Steve to further drive the wedge between he and the Alliance.</em></p><p> Calgary Connection - <em>Steiner and Savage don't coexist a second time, and Brian/Owen take full advantage of it.</em></p><p> Dustin Rhodes - <em>The biggest win of Dustin's young career comes at the Great American Bash.</em></p><p> Barry Windham</p><p> Shawn Michaels - <em>"PS" puts over the new coming of his old schtick.</em></p><p> Warrior - <em>Warrior is likely going to be taking on Rude in the near future, this puts him up big time toward the belt.</em></p><p> Nikita Koloff - <em>Jack really doesn't need to win matches to stay over already, which means Koloff goes over here to keep him in the picture.</em></p><p> Bret/Steamboat/??? - <em>Tough to go against ???.</em></p><p> Diamond Mine - <em>Big night for the Mine as they take home some gold.</em></p>
  19. <p>Booker T - <em>I don't figure Booker is walking out with BOTH titles, but he is going to keep at least one. I'm saying it's the World; there's a lot he can do as the new big face of WCW.</em></p><p> Sting - <em>Booker drops the US title so that it can be defended often.</em></p><p> Team Canada - <em>Storm and Awesome are a great team, and Lance can have a good match with practically anyone. Giving him a title is a good idea.</em></p><p> Shane Helms - <em>Rey feels so much bigger than the Cruiser title by now, so put Helms over to be the new face of the division.</em></p><p> Kanyon - <em>He will put Smooth out of our misery.</em></p><p> Shawn Stasiak - <em>Youth goes over to become a thorn in bigger sides.</em></p><p> Ric Flair - <em>I think the Flair/Rhodes feud will definitely end here, as Flair takes the win and then fires Dusty so that he can go run TCW.</em></p>
  20. <p>Ahmed Johnson - <em>While I would love to see Bret get a run, Ahmed's title reign still has legs.</em></p><p> Owen and Jericho</p><p> Sid - <em>Arn gets DQ'd when Flair comes in with a chopblock.</em></p><p> Harlem Heat</p><p> Faarooq</p><p> Matt Hardy</p><p> </p><p> Hogan and JPL - <em>The main event continues looking strong.</em></p><p> Curt Hennig</p><p> Adam Copeland</p><p> DDP</p><p> SST - <em>I dig the SST, so I look forward to seeing what you do with them.</em></p><p> Lance Storm - <em>Storm can take over for Regal as the new face of the TV division.</em></p><p> Someone else is supposed to win here, but I seem to have Forgotten them.</p><p> <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>
  21. Another @Rhyme and also a note to anyone else who may glance past this, but this one was my bad. My tiebreaker question had "World championship match" listed, but there isn't one of those. Since the main event is set to run 30 minutes, the tiebreaker is how long the US title match will last.
  22. <p>@Rhyme: Thanks for predicting, you didn't fill in the bonus questions though. After talking about how great WCW and it’s fans are, he says that Bash at the Beach will be a great night to be “The Nature Boy” when he gets his hands on Scott Steiner for a full thirty minutes. Dustin Rhodes comes to the ring, also saying that the Iron Man match will be his great ascent into the World title picture. “Seek and Destroy” brings out Sting, who tells Flair and Rhodes that while they are partners on Sunday, he is going to be looking out for himself – as he is taking it to heart that Eric Bischoff has claimed the man with the most falls under his belt will become the first man in line for a title shot. They start discussing the main event tonight though, saying that the news from the top is that whoever doesn’t compete in the main event tag team match against the Steiner Brothers will face off with Animal in singles competition. After a few moments of arguing who is best to be in the bout, Flair and Sting decide to take on Rick and Scott, with Dustin saying he’ll tame Animal before Sunday. To close the segment, the Steiner Brothers emerge, with Scott telling them that he doesn’t give a damn which of the stupid, old, soon to be crippled bastards step in the ring with them tonight, saying he’ll be like Jason “Vor-hee” and mow down a buncha assholes on Friday the 13th! And then this Sunday at Bash at the Beach he will put them all out of his misery, and the only belt they’ll compete for is a belt of alcohol to take away the painful memories of their night with “The Big Bad Booty Daddy” just like all the ugly potential freaks from Las Vegas he’s been turning away! (A* / 97)<p> </p><p> In a high paced match to end their feud, Kid Kash is finally able to pin Chavo Guerrero Jr. using a sunset flip pin at 7:45. They two have great chemistry against one another. (Rating: C)</p><p> </p><p> “Mean” Gene and Jeremy are back in the interview area where they stand by with Booker T and AJ Styles. Styles is very excited to get such a big match this early in his career, saying how much he respects Booker and has some huge butterflies in his stomach just standing near him right now. Booker is a real star in this segment, telling AJ that he’s had his eye on him since the beginning of the year and he also can’t wait for their match; as well as getting his hands on Jeff Jarrett tonight in their tag team match and then getting the US title this Sunday. AJ is pumped to take out Shane Douglas, and the two head off to get strategy for the match. (Rating: C-)</p><p> </p><p> Earlier tonight, The Snukas are seen entering their skybox. (Rating: D-)</p><p> </p><p> In a short match, “Sugar” Shane Helms leaves the crowd buzzing by defeating Yang in 2:36 with the Vertebreaker. (Rating: C-)</p><p> </p><p> Yang is defeated, but Leia Meow isn’t pleased. She calls upon her assassin, and “The Japanese Buzzsaw” Yoshihiro Tajiri answers, laying out Helms with a series of vicious kicks before locking him in the Tarantula! He won’t release the hold despite security coming to break it up, finally leaving when Meow gives him the word. Helms has to be helped out of the arena. (Rating: C)</p><p> </p><p> We go backstage where Stacy Kiebler is talking to Chuck Palumbo. It sounds like they’re making plans for later in the evening, when Buff Bagwell happens by. Bagwell taunts them, saying that if Stacy wants a night out with a real man, she should look no further than Buff, and that Palumbo is nothing but a boy who can’t handle a woman like Kiebler like Bagwell could. Buff’s performance here as a slimeball was good. Stacy nearly throws up when Buff starts flexing and posing for her, with Chuck finally gets upset at Bagwell’s interruption once they realize they can’t just ignore him, and the two set up to meet in the ring later tonight! (Rating: C+)</p><p> </p><p> In the ring, Jeff Jarrett and Shane Douglas cut a promo on Booker T and AJ Styles. Jarrett says that he and Douglas are practically kindred spirits at the moment because they have punks to take care of this Sunday. “The Franchise” says that he will make sure that the veterans like he and Jeff will be victorious while punks like Booker and Styles will be left crying like the little bitches they are! (Rating: C+)</p><p> </p><p> Jeff Jarrett and Shane Douglas score a tainted victory over AJ Styles and Booker T when Shane hits Styles with Jeff’s Acoustic Equalizer, leaving Jarrett to pin him at 8:50. (Rating: B-)</p><p> </p><p> Jarrett and Douglas look ready to take out AJ for good, but Booker saves him with a steel chair, chasing the heels away before helping Styles to his feet. (Rating: B-)</p><p> </p><p> In a complete comedy bout, “The Cat” Ernest Miller pins “Das Wunderkind” Alex Wright in 2:01 by using the ruby dancing shoe to deliver the Feliner for the win. Wright seemed off his game. (Rating: C-)</p><p> </p><p> We head to satellite (pre-taped) footage from the home of “Big Sexy” Kevin Nash. After quipping that “Big Sexy is in his houuuuuuuse!” Kevin talks about how Goldberg is making a big talk about nothing, saying that it’s pretty clear that “the big bad wolf” has Goldberg a little afraid for his new streak; as he should, because he’s the one who ended it the last time. (Rating: A* / 96)</p><p> </p><p> The WCW Panel talk about our show tonight, and run down the card for Bash at the Beach: Lust for the Gold this Sunday. (Rating: C)</p><p> </p><p> Vampiro is backstage in his candlelit room. He says that lust is one of his most hated sins, as unlike pride or envy it is unpure. Vampiro calls it a sad representation of what love should be, no matter what that love could entail. He calls out Rey Mysterio Jr. and Konnan as men who thought they had friendly love for one another, but given how easily they broke apart, apparently they were only in lust for one another. He tells everyone that there is no lust in Dark Eden, only love; and to get there, you must find your redemption through him. (Rating: C)</p><p> </p><p> In a short but fairly action packed match, Buff Bagwell utilizes a distraction from Lex Luger to defeat Chuck Palumbo. Stacy Kiebler was at ringside, and “The Total Package” and Madusa started stalking her around the ring, which took Chuck’s attention away from the ring and gave Bagwell the chance to hit the Buff Blockbuster to win at 3:59. (Rating: C)</p><p> </p><p> Totally Buff look like they want to inflict more punishment on Palumbo, possibly to send a message to their opponents this Sunday, but before they can, Jindrak and O’Haire come to the ring and chase them off. (Rating: B-)</p><p> </p><p> Kronik find Hugh Morrus backstage, saying that he still owes them money. Morrus says that they owed him a night, so after some arguing they all agree on a tag team street fight at Bash at the Beach, winners get the money! (Rating: B-)</p><p> </p><p> “Da Man” Goldberg comes out to the ring, but not for a match tonight. He says that a few nights ago he won #109 in his new streak, and he decided that rather than risk Nash having a chance to come attack him or find a way to take advantage of an injury, he decided to not take any more matches until this Sunday. That means #110 is being saved for Kevin Nash, because he’s next! (Rating: B)</p><p> </p><p> A wild brawl ensues during the match between “The Prodigal Son” Dustin Rhodes and Animal, which leads to them both being counted out in 6:21 as they fought up the aisle. Hudson talks about how this would cost each of them a fall if this happens on Sunday during the Iron Man Challenge! (Rating: B-)</p><p> </p><p> Lance Storm comes out to the ring with some words for “The Cat” as he chides him for the so-called comedy during his match earlier. Storm says that he hopes Miller doesn’t plan on using any of his comic schtick on Sunday against him, because it’s going to be a serious affair when he forces “The Cat” to tap out. Ernest Miller comes to the stage and tells Storm that somebody had better call his mama because he will seriously kick his Howdy Doody looking ass on Sunday. But Storm gives a signal, and out of the shadowy area of the arena comes Mike Awesome! He attacks “The Cat” from the side, leaving him no chance to counterattack before beating him down. Storm says that he is the greatest technical wrestler in the world, and this Sunday, Miller will find out why he can claim that. Tenay and Hudson call out Storm on his hypocritical use of Mike Awesome after having called all his former teammates failures. (Rating: C)</p><p> </p><p> In a very short squash match, Low-Ki decimates Caprice Coleman, finishing him in 1:15 with the Dragon Clutch. This match was used to calm the crowd. (Rating: E+)</p><p> </p><p> Chris Lovey is with the Snukas in their skybox for an interview, where he asks them about how they’ve been enjoying the Gluttony prize. Jimmy Snuka says that his son had some initial worries about it, but he’s starting to come around. Jimmy Jr., now wearing a suit, says that he’s still not feeling this, but this Sunday they’ll be enjoying Bash at the Beach from the skybox. (Rating: C-)</p><p> </p><p> David Penzer announces our main event! (Rating: B-)</p><p> </p><p> The main event gets plenty of time to be a great spectacle, where Sting and Ric Flair defeat the Steiner Brothers in 20:51 when Sting catches Scott Steiner with the Scorpion Deathdrop. There wasn’t enough selling during the match.
