  1. Orton does have talent, though and has for a long time. It was a whole SEVEN years ago when he had an epic match with Taker at WM21. At that point it was the best match Taker had at WM since 4 years ago with HHH at WM17. Orton got over fast when he was in Evolution and subsequently after he turned face. But I would disagree that anyone who would be pushed like that would be where he is now. Orton's face run as champ was a MAJOR flop. Most people would have been shot back down to the midcard. Remember guys like Matt Morgan, or Carlito, or Chris Masters who were pushed pretty hard, but they eventually fell back down.

That is my point. No one else seemed to get as many chances to get where Orton is now. Also I never said he wasn't talented.

  2. You honestly truly can't believe that John Cena and Randy Orton are no better at what they do than anyone else right? John Cena has been the biggest merchandise mover for the last seven years. If he wasn't that good and there was nothing special about him people wouldn't care about him. How many people have they tried to push into the main event that have never gotten the reaction or made them money like Cena?

I'm not going to go into this in depth because honestly its just a silly idea that Cena isn't that good at what he does. Cena is the best in the world at doing what he does. Orton's crowd reactions are what turned him face in the first place. I might not like the guy and might not understand his appeal but its very apparent that the casual WWE fan loves this guy a ton.

If you want Danielson and Low Ki to go over Orton and Cena then watch ROH because thats not what you're going to get in the WWE and honestly its not what I want. And although its not like Punk is on the level of Cena and Orton in the eyes of the company the guy is a triple crown champion, three time world champion and a two time MITB winner the only two time winner and the only guy to do it back to back. So yeah Punk has had a toooooon of success there way more than other guys coming from similar backgrounds.

I am not a Cena fan, but I don't think it is fair to put Cena and Orton together. Cena is someone who caught on with the fans and that is what lead to him being where he is. Though once he got there they changed his character quite a bit, which is something I understand to some extent (though not as far as they went). In the end what matter is the fans pushed Cena to the main event. Orton on the other hand has been pushed constantly to be a maineventer staring in like 2002. I really do think a lot of people given the same consent pushes that Orton has gotten over the last 9 years would have been just as big as Orton is now, except it would of happened a lot earlier.

  3. You seem to forget Jamie Knoble who in WWE has always been treated as a joke and a jobber, but in ROH he won their world title.

ROH had a different mindset, booker, and ownership then. Plus it was one of the worst reigns in ROH history (though not as bad as Xavier’s). It just seems to me that his name value isn’t enough to make signing him a logical move. I mean sure he is a good wrestler, but why bother with a 40 year old good wrestler when you have a dozen in their 20s and 30s already with the company. It would be a different story though if ROH were making a push for Mexico.

  4. Ah, that old chestnut.

Of course, then goes the vicious cycle; someone complains about TNA and is simply told don't watch it if you don't like it. After a while, they ask if TNA is still bas bad as they remember. They're asked if they watch it, say no, and are quickly told, usually by the same people who told them not to watch it in the first place, they can't criticize something they don't watch. So they take the challenge and watch TNA for while, to see if it's changed (invariably, they've been told it's improved or to give it a chance), and when they continue to complain because it's still the same TNA as it ever was, they're once again told don't watch it if you don't like it. They stop watching and then the cycle repeats itself over and over.

It's an easy out in an argument, primarily because it allows the actual problems not to be addressed and the people bringing up the complaints can be more easily dismissed, so I expect that from someone like Jeff Jarrett. But in a thread about TNA, well, sorry if people keep complaining and usually about the same things, but if you really want it to stop, you might want to to direct your thoughts the way of the people who keep making those some mistakes and keep failing to address those problems. Or you could just ignore the complaints because "If you don't like it, don't watch it" is a pretty lame mantra to begin with and just makes you come across like you're sticking your fingers in your ears.

Years ago I had a friend tell me about this movie called The Blair Witch Project and how great it was. So I went and saw it. I never listened to another movie suggestion from him again. The moral of the story is once someone tells you something that is blatantly wrong on insane you don’t listen to him or her the next time they tell you the same thing. This is not a comment on the quality of TNA or my opinion on TNA, just about how that circle only can happen to a crazy person who learns nothing from the past.

  5. World War 3 may have been a giant cluster ****, but there was some pretty good drama. If anyone gets irritated with my random WCW posts in here, I'll stop them. I just figured this was the best place since WWE owns WCW and what not.

My favorite World War 3 moments are both Nash related. The first is in 1997 when he came down from the rafters dressed as Sting. The second is in 1998 when he stops every one in the ring and gets them to throw out the Giant.

  6. This is what it seems like, but things/perceptions can always change... if Truth gets hot enough for the creative team, they might consider a transitional reign or some sort.

The problem I have with that is a transition to who? If we still had Miz as a champion I could see giving the title to an upper face to pass the title to ADR, but who would an upper heel be passing the title to?

  7. Honestly, he's right. You can dislike LeBron and the Heat all you want, but to revel in someone's failure to achieve something they've wanted to their entire life like say, the Cleveland fans are, well, that's just sad.

LeBron's not a bad person. He's had people call him the greatest since he was 18 years old, of course he's going to have developed some sort of ego. The truth is every great athlete has an ego. Some are just better at keeping it in check than others.

Anyone who says they have never felt good over someone else’s failures or miseries is full of it. Sure it isn’t something to be proud of, but it isn’t something to be ashamed of either. It is just part of being human. Also it is a very poor argument when the person you are defending does the same thing. People hate me, but who cares they are poor and less then me because I am rich and famous.

In the end he may not be a bad person, but he sure is an idiot.

  8. No, he wont

    I think you are right.

“All the people that were rooting me on to fail, at the end of the day they have to wake up tomorrow and have the same life they had before,” James said. “They have the same personal problems they had to today. I’m going to continue to live the way I want to live and continue to do the things that I want with me and my family and be happy with that.”
  9. I'm going to buy two ROH DVDs for a friend who has never watched before. He's in his mid twenties and has only watched WWE in his life, no TNA. He's also an MMA fan, just to give you background on his watching preferences.

Which two DVDs would you suggest? A loaded question that I'm sure will give a lot of different answers, but I'd be appreciative of some help. Thanks in advance.

Looking at what they actually have in stock I would go with Glory By Honor VIII & IX. 8 has Nigel's and Danielson's last match and a ladder war so he should like it. 9 is a great show that represents current ROH very well.

Made even better as it is all about putting on a pair of sunglasses.</p>
  11. You liked Rob Zombie's Halloween 2? I thought it was pure and utter crap. He did a great job with the first movie remake however, like I said his version of Halloween 2=Crap.:D

I hated the remakes of Halloween with a passion as they go to show Zombie has no idea to do suspense or horror movies for that matter. I thought the background was just weak and if anything turned one of the most stone cold killers in movie history into nothing more then a big dumb kid with a bad childhood. Also if you are going to try and add depth why turn him into nothing more then a Jason clone. Plus how the hell did he get so muscular? All he ever did was make masks. It was better when he was just a kind of tall guy. The only way Halloween could have been a good movie would have been if Joe Grizzly would have killed MM and the movie would have turned into a picture about a bad ass trucker.

Though to be fair I hate Rob Zombie movies other then the Devils Rejects as I don't think he knows how to make horror movies (Devil Rejects is not a horror movie).

  12. Just watched the first show which was really good in my opinion. Can't wait till Friday, when I get to watch night 2.

Just a question though, did anyone get slightly burnt out towards the tail end of the show. Maybe it's because the matches were longer and built up slower, but I found myself less interested in the matches post Richards/Strong then the ones before. Maybe I need a break instead of watching it all in one go.

I thought having the last 3 matches back to back like they did was a mistake. Make either Davey Strong or WGTT Kings the last match before intermission and move something like the womans tag to after intermission. I think it would have given the show a little better flow.

  13. If someone put a gun to my head and pick the guy currently on the indies who will make it big one day in the WWE my choice would have to be Kenny King. He may not be the best at anything, but he has the look more then anyone and is good and has only gotten better at everything over the last few years. He will be a huge star one day.
  14. The name change doesn’t bother me at all. It seems kind of logical. As a company they are expanding from just wrestling to more general entertainment. It started with wrestlers writing books and staring in movies and is now shifting to them producing works (at least movies) under WWE Films that has no wrestler involvement. It would be like if a company existed that made just TV shows under the name General TV decided to start making movies too and changed it’s name to General Entertainment it just adds up. What will be interesting to see is if we end up with something like World Wrestling Entertainment a subdivision of WWE.
  15. From wrestlezone.com

    Thoughts?

I, honestly, feel like TNA should officially cut ties with the man but, from a purely creative standpoint, the characters that often resonate are those who feel entirely realistic to the real person. That said, I don't think I could ever buy into cheering for Hardy. In a way, I'm a traditionalist and really care for the craft in general. With Hardy, he's done enough to prove that he doesn't really care about Pro Wrestling anymore. He may, underneath it all, but he's too drugged out to even realize what he's doing to himself I'm sure.

If true TNA better bay for his rehab or it will just make them lost worst, even more so if the WWE pays for it. You would have one company trying to help a former employee and another taking advantage of an employees situation (even if the employee is the one to blame). It sounds like some bad PR to me.

  16. Anybody plan on ordering the pair of iPPVs tonight and tomorrow afternoon (U.S. time)? I'm going to place my order within the next couple of hours. $20 total for those two shows should be tremendous value in my opinion. Especially if you have some way of watching it on your television. For anybody who has a ROKU player, you can now stream the shows live through that device.

I am thinking about it, though I will not be able to watch them live it would be a nice thing for me to watch Monday and Tuesday.

Edit: and now I have bought it.

  17. I mean, I know it's "only" the US title, but how did Sheamus who was on a losing streak and getting faced through a table by HHH a week or two ago "earn" a title match? Did I miss back story to that?

I was wondering this myself. I hardly ever watch RAW (I catch it during the commercials when I am watching Chicago Code and Stargate Universe) but I do read up on what happens on here and on other sites. And I actually caugt Sheamus winning the title on RAW this week and I just did not get it.

I hate the fact that the US and IC titles mean next to nothing now. There was a time when they meant a lot. Well the US title never meant much in the WWF. However, in the NWA that title was important.

Didn't bryan challenge him or something? they had that backstage interaction where shemus had lost and bryan was laughing with gail and they got in each other's faces a few weeks ago.

Regardless, I was really surprised by how good that match was, they had some good chemistry going on.

Looking forward to a rematch at WM, and hope it's given 15 minutes or so to fully explore the work of both guys.

I think that could be one of those "two up and comers kill themselves and have an awesome match" kinda WM moments.

When someone says if I don't win I will quit you give them a title match no matter what their current record is, that is part of wrestling 101.

  18. I normally don't talk bad about anyone as It's just not the way I go about things but...................

Can someone just take the Hardy brothers away? I mean, not in a violent way but just take them away from wrestling on TV. I was a fan in the early days; however, at this point, they've become... well... un-watchable in a lot of ways.

I don't like them but it's not a good 'heel heat'. I legitimate don't like them & typically turn the channel when they come on. Sad, but true.

I was never huge on the Hardys though at different time I was almost a fan of them. Seeing them now makes me a tad uncomfortable. I can’t see them without thinking they have lost their minds and that wrestling is somewhat to blame. Almost makes me feel a little guilty as a fan of wrestling.

    I would if I could...

I did hear that the Bucks are going to tie them up and take their clothes and see if anyone notices.

That being said the Hardys vs the Young Bucks is one of the few things I would actually still like to see the Hardys due (along with Hardys vs. MCMG once Shelly comes back).

  19. This would need some good storyline reason considering Sheamus put Trips on the shelf for ages.

I don't think it would be that hard. You just need a month of HHH talking about his past and how what Sheamus did is something he would have done in the past. Throw in Sheamus doubting it for a bit and the crowed always wondering if this is the day HHH turns on him and it seems like an easy storyline to write.
