  1. Yes. He won it from Danielson at Final Battle '06. Had a pretty short reign before dropping the title to Morishima. It was really more about the chase than the reign for Homicide.

He was the start of the chase that went to long when it comes to the ROH World Title. Though unlike with Lynn and Black by the time he finally did win it people still wanted him to.

  2. So for the last week to month I have had a classic Nickelodeon live action kids shows itch I just keep scratching. You Can’t Do That on Television, Pete & Pete, Clarissa Explains it All, Are You Afraid of the Dark, Salute Your Shorts, Fifteen, Welcome Freshman, Roundhouse, Hey Dude, All the game shows, The Secret World of Alex Mac, and I would guess some other I am forgetting. I now realize how sorry I feel for the children born in the 90’s and on. How much better my TV as a chilled is better then theirs.

Along with I have been watching a bunch of commercials from the early 90’s and must say they are the greatest things ever. This weird mix of bright colors of the 80’s along with bad rap and random slang used left and right.

  3. Anybody been seeing those new Futurama Episodes? I've been watching and at first thought they had gone the way of the Simpsons, but It's actually gotten quite funny!

It has been great. I think it was during The Futurama mafia game here I was talking about how I thought it could end up. Something like If it is like the old show it will be great if it is like the movies it will be okay and if it is like The Simpson’s for the last 11 or so years it will suck. I am glad to say it started at good (between the movies and old TV show) and by episode 4 or so was back to great.

  5. The silly EV2.0 stuff, in your words, didn't take up too much time fortunately this week. And agree with Morgan he should talk. That is the weird thing with Fortune most of them could already talk on the mic or can now like AJ only exception is Kaz. Still can not wait till they proudly proclaim they have kicked out or marginalised all the 'old' guys and then AJ says: 'Except for one'. And then they all turn and beat the stuffing out of Flair. At least that is my 'dream' pay-off.

Only problem with that is we would end up with an AJ vs. Flair match where AJ is the Heel and Flair is the Face. Thought that does seem to fit with what TNA is trying to do which I just don’t get.

So I should boo what makes you different your younger talent and cheer for the people who were made other places? I just hate it. Which is kind of weird cause I don’t hate EV2.0 I don’t hate Sting or Nash (don’t really care about Hogan now or Jarrett ever) I have no problem with the idea of them being there. I also like Fourtune and think it is a good heel stable. The problem is them groups should not be feuding. Fourtune should be feuding with an alliance made up of Lethal, MCMG’s, Pope, some X division guy and Joe. Not in a feud that comes down to (Heel) TNA vs. (Faces) People all at least 10 years pass their prime.

  6. SON OF A...

I'm not pissed with Tyler or anything, but if this is true, the timing is terrible. Would've been better if it had happened shortly before DBD, so they could've put the belt on Davey. Now they might have to give it to Roderick, who I personally have no interest in seeing as champion.

They need to combine Strong vs. Black with Daniels vs. Richards (just assuming it happens at Glory by Honor as it seems to be building to that). Lets have Daniels get his reign he should have had twice already (Xavier's and Gibson's).

  7. I get what you're saying, but to me they are one of the best interviews in wrestling because, according to most, they REALLY do talk like that. So they sound legit. Idiots, but legit.

    To each their own, right?

They do say the best characters in wrestling are based on the real person just playing up aspects of their personalities.

  8. Briscoes have been in ROH since day 1, they have the most titles reigns and in my opinion, they are the best ROH team in their history. Though you do bring a good point they seem to wrestle the same feud over and over again, there is no question that the Briscoes are and always be the glue of the tag division.

Which brings me to my next question, rank the top 5 teams in ROH history. Just curious once again.

I know they are the cornerstone of the Tag division and have been from almost the start (cornerstone I know they were on the first shows even if one could only manage his brother due to being 17). I am just sick of them. The stupid karate chops with the stupid ninja sounds. Their inability to do a decent promo, they sound like angry gibberish most of the time. Their inability to sell an injury ruins the story of too many of their matches. You have a heel spend the whole match working on a body part (in the Briscoe’s cases usually the one that was legit hurt a few months ago) then the last 5 to 10 minuets they just stop selling it completely not even doing the quick move followed by the grabbing of the sore spot. Their finishing sequences almost always make the early part of the match completely pointless. Though at one point I did love them and they are still good for one or two oh my god spots a show.

    1. Kings of wrestling

    2. Roderick Strong and Austin Aries

    3. American Wolves

    4. Kevin Steen & El generico

    5. I just can't decide.

  9. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="The Final Countdown" data-cite="The Final Countdown" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="26106" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>I'm intrigued, and expect it to be very good to great. It's going to be tough for it to top either of the KOW/Briscoes IPPV matches, though.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I have just become numb to the Briscoes now as they seem to only have one match they wrestle over and over again. I don't even think I could put them on a top 5 all time ROH teams. Though at one time I loved them.</p>
  10. just curoius but since ROH has had many great stables, who do you think was the best stable in ROH.

Generation Next. You had three good works who became great as it when on (Evans has never been better then okay). You had a great feud with them versus the Embassy with probably the best multi-man cage match ROH has ever had. Plus you had what may have been the best Tag Team title run ever in ROH with Aries and Strong. It also helps that almost every other stable in ROH has been either too focused on one person or a bunch of guys who no one cared all that much about (with the exceptions of The NRC and the Embassy once Shelly joined).

  11. Kevin Nash is awesome. Not as a wrestler, but his character for the last few years in TNA. Laid back, always exaggerating his achievements and public opinion of himself. From way back with Alex Shelly, through the "PCS" skits with the whole X Division - developing their characters (plus all the Backlund jokes!)... Nash is one of the best comedians in all of wrestling.

I loved his skits with Shelly and think if he isn’t going to be a color commentator he needs to go back to a mentor role to a bunch of young guys.

I remember one of the sketches he talks about winning the WWF title an it was something like

Nash: “That day 50000 people where on their feet cheering as I won the title.”

Shelly: “Does Madison Square Garden even hold 50000 people?”

    Nash: “It did that day.”

    (Very badly paraphrased)

I miss the whole Shelly and Nash promo combo they just worked off each other so well.

  12. I'm hoping that the big thing that can "change the face of TNA FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" will be a change in policy allowing The Motor City Machine Guns to be seen and/or mentioned on TV every once in a while.

Alas, I'm not holding my breath.

They should have been on commentary for at least one of if not both of the tournament matches. Though instead they wanted to push the whole Bubba vs. some guy with a Mohawk and Tattoos. Does any one actually care about the feud? It hasn’t be badly done or anything, yet I just don’t care at all.

  13. A recent rumor states that TNA is basically set to take over Thursday nights. Xplosion is rumored to be coming back to the states and to air before Impact (with JB on commentary!). Reaction is already set to be aired after Impact. Every Thursday night there will be 4 hours of TNA from 8PM-12AM EST.

The big surprise? Just part of the surprise? Or just a silly rumor?

    YOU DECIDE!

I hope it is a rumor 4 hours of wrestling in a row on one night just seems like too much. Though I do have Tivo so I could space it out over a few days for myself.

  14. So ROH has its buy 3 get 2 free sale going on and I am thinking of taking advantage of it. Any ideas on what I should get? I know I want to stick to shows that take place after Glory by Honor VIII (I already have Final Battle 2009, 8th Anniversary, and So Cal Showdown). Though in the end I may pass on the deal and pick up one of Highspots 8-10 PWG DVD packages they have going on now.
  15. Thought yesterdays impact with good and only had 2 problems with it. The first is Dreamer coming out during the Lethal Wolfe match. Why take away from a match involving 2 of your best young wrestlers you are clearly trying to push? The second was the whole Sting Jarrett thing doing nothing for me. All I could think about during the promo was “I wish they gave this time to Lethal Wolfe” as it was too short.
  16. I've only seen one Chris Hero match against some Japanese guy on HDnet a while back. How far off of "best in the world" or "best in ROH" is he?

He could be up higher then he is if he would combine his past styles with his current style. He is just too reliant on his striking style.

  17. Of course they would. Otherwise what is the incentive to return, or accept the firing-rehiring with no qualms.

Except they are the biggest company by far and his only chance to be at the top of the profession he loves. That would seem like a good enough reason for quite a few people not to burn any bridges and be willing to return to a place they may have not got the fairest chance at the first time.

  18. TWS is fantastic. I'm more excited for Davey/Tyler than I have been for any match in a long time, and that awesome video he did is a BIG part of that.

ROH needs to hire that dude, because his video packages blow their "official" stuff out of the water.

At least ROH video packages are not as bad as their DVD covers (which tend to be quite ugly).
