  1. I like the CW shows (Yes even Supergirl, which is not as bad as I was led to believe it would be). Legends of Tomorrow has started to become really bad. There are too many characters on the show and they have gone overboard with the wacky comedy.

I despise the Time Bureau characters (Ava, Mona, Gary) and I hope every episode the kill them off.:D Sadly that hope is to no avail thus far.

I wish they would just focus on the main characters (Sara, Rory, Charlie, Nate, Zari, Ray and Constantine). Wow just looking at that list, I am thinking there are far too many main characters as well. But I actually enjoy all of them so I would hate to see any of them go.

Watched the first 2 episodes of the HBO Chernobyl mini-series. It's well directed and acted and extremely tense and chilling. Only weak point is the inconsistent accents but as a US/UK production that's understandable.

I have to see this. I mistakenly thought it was going to be a movie and not a mini-series (not sure why) and I was wondering week after week why it had not aired on Saturday night yet. Then last week when I watched the Deadwood movie and they promoted the last episode of the mini-series being on this past Monday.

  2. Workrate comes second to me. I mostly watch for characters that I want to cheer for, unless it's a debut show like AEW Double of Nothing since it's too early for characters to be properly established so I'd judge mainly on the ring work. That's mostly why I stopped watching NXT US. So sick of Undisputed Era playing generic dominating heel stable #89080680586 (well, that, and Gargano's face run being abysmally booked with unnecessary turns and inconsistent personality, but I've already said a lot about that). They neither stand out to me as individuals or as a stable. All the members talk and wrestle so similarly that they feel piratically interchangeable. I'm not even sure why Adam Cole is their leader other than maybe him being the bigger singles star back in ROH (no idea, since I haven't watched it in years). It feels like if you were to take Cole out of one of his matches and replace him with one of the other tag team guys you'll get almost the exact same match.

You know what it is, Cole has an actual personality and is not bad on interviews (Or at least he was not during his ROH days. I cannot comment on his NXT work as I do not have the Network). Bobby Fish is decent when it comes to personality and can be entertaining.

Roderick and Kyle have zero personality. I was honestly shocked when the WWE signed Kyle and Roderick (and to a lesser extent Bobby) because they are both so bland. You said you used to watch ROH, did you by any chance get to see Kyle when he was the color commentator for their television show?

He was beyond awful. I am not sure what genius decided to put him in that position, but yeah he was bad.

I am like you, I could give two craps about workrate. In fact, unless someone is godawful I will probably not even realize that they suck. Maybe the WWE hired them due to them being good in the ring...I don't know.

  3. The Deadwood movie was terrible. Such a disappointment, after waiting all these years and that was the best they could come up with.

I also forgot how awful the dialogue was on that show. There is no way that dialogue is historically accurate. Granted I really have no idea of knowing how they spoke in the 1870's/1880's, but I highly doubt they spoke like that.

Mostly because it was a mining town, how many of them were actually educated? I know the American education system was vastly superior then when compared to now, but come on there is just no way they spoke like that.

I am not talking about the copious amounts of swearing that is peppered throughout an Ian McShane tirade (who knew Lovejoy had such a way with cuss words). That I am certain happened back then.

No I am talking about the dialogue that sound like it should be coming out of the mouth of Edwin Booth or Laurence Olivier on some stage in London (those were the only two Shakespearean actors that sprang to mind). It is just ridiculous and makes the writers come across as pretentious.

Write more like Mark Twain and less like Shakespeare. It would make the show/movie far more enjoyable.

Well I did enjoy the show but the movie just felt rushed.

  4. Another example of the bipolar SJW-craze. People hated her comments so much they swore off the movie before seeing anything. Any buzz is good buzz. This proves it once again. Is it decent? It's been a while since I saw a superhero movie and the last one is so loaded with "buildup" that I'm not going to watch it.

I wonder if it would have been as big of a hit had it not come out so close to Endgame. Brie Larson really does come across as a very unlikable woman. I would say the role was miscast, I am not sure who would be a good fit though.

I saw Brightburn and thought it was pretty good. I went into it with very low expectations due to poor reviews and bad word of mouth. But then again, reviewers tend to always speak poorly of anything with a hint of horror in it so I probably should have not put too much stock in what they say.

I saw MA last night. On the surface it was a decent movie but it is one of those movies where the more you think about it, the more you grow to dislike it.

I call that the Phantom Menace syndrome (I guess it could be called Godfather III syndrome because that is the older of the two movies but you get my drift), where in the movie is fine upon watching it. However, the more you think about it, the more it sucks. That is what happened to me when I watched the Phantom Menace for the first time. I came out of it thinking, "Well it is not better than the older movies but it was not that bad. Darth Maul was awesome."

Then on the ride home I started picking the movie apart. Well this sucked and that was dumb, so forth and so on.

That was the only Star Wars movie that I ever did that with. In regards to the Last Jedi, I was sitting in the movie getting more and more annoyed over how much the movie sucked. That movie was just terrible...I actually held off on watching Solo because I was still annoyed by how awful TLJ was.

Which sucks because I actually enjoyed Solo once I got a chance to watch it.

  5. 2) MJF really impressed me tonight he may not be a 5* match guy but he had the crowd hating him and in a good way this goes back to my first observation sumbody from the ME should work a program with him.

It was the scarf. Anyone who wears a scarf indoors should be booed. It is the clothing equivalent of the goatee. :D

Yeah MJF impressed me as well. I have heard of him, but I have never had a chance to see him. That promo he cut on Adam Page was excellent.

I was shocked to find out that MJF is still pretty young. Not sure why, but I would not automatically think someone as young as he is could deliver a promo like that. Good stuff.

Seemed like a pretty good show, but I fell asleep during Cody/Dustin, and was in and out during the 2 matches before that. Hoping B/R Live allows me to watch the replay today once ots up without shelling out more money.

Same here, I fell asleep during parts of the six women match and Cody/Dustin. From what I saw of the six women match (that looks odd typing that, but that is what it was) I did not miss much.

My question is what could they possibly do with that guy that has no legs? I mean this has to be a one-off, because I cannot picture him in any actual matches.

At this point I am not sure where they should go.</p><p> </p><p> I was such an avid TNA fan around 2010 and now I have next to no interest in their product (I think I have just lost interest in wrestling in general as I hardly watch WWE or ROH either). The last time I saw one of their shows I did not know who the vast majority of their roster were.</p>

I mean I sort of get why people are not enjoying it, thus far it would probably rank as my least favorite season. That being said, I still have found it enjoyable.</p>
  9. I've never been a big fan of Hawkman, but I'll see if I can track down Nightwing.

I have not read anything prior to Nightwing issue 50, so I cannot endorse that. But it has been great 50 onward (I kept on hearing it was good and I finally decided to pick it up starting with 50).

Can certainly relate to not liking Hawkman. Looked at him as a major joke for years and years. Heck, I'd hear all the guff Aquaman got and wonder why Hawkman didn't get it even worse. The Super Friends toons reduced him to some dude who could fly and happen to be symmetrical enough as to have wings as well. At least Aquaman had always gotten to retain his powers. Hawkman had everything that could have made him cool stripped away.

I felt the same way (Hawkman being lame) but I am telling you Robert Venditti (who I think is a fantastic writer) has really made the character interesting. This new Hawkman series explores his convoluted origin stories. There is sort of a Tomb Raider/Indiana Jones (not humor wise in the case of IJ) vibe to the first few issues.

Right now I am two issues behind (I have it on my pull list but I just have not had the time to do much reading) but from what I have read thus far it has been great. I think there might have been one dud issue (going by memory here) but the rest are great.

Do I need to read all three to get the full story?</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I could be wrong (as more often than not I am) but I believe they are not connected.</p><p> </p><p> The only one out of the three that I have every issue of is Conan the Barbarian. I have the first two issues of Savage Sword and from what I can tell it is an entirely different story.</p><p> </p><p> Age of Conan is a five-part mini-series focusing on Belit. I have heard Age of is pretty good but it just got to a point where that was the third one to be put out and I was like how many do Marvel expect me to follow.</p><p> </p><p> The only reason why I bought two issues of Savage Sword is because comixology had them on sale for .99 cents. I probably would not have bothered if they were retail price.</p>

Hellblazer, Titans, Silencer, Damage, Weapon H, The Green Arrow have all been on my pull list and each of them have been cancelled.<img alt=":(" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/frown.png.e6b571745a30fe6a6f2e918994141a47.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

However, in regards to the production value of the video; maybe he made it himself. I am not saying he did, but I am making the assumption that being part of the main event scene for so long he must have made a decent living. </p><p> </p><p> Therefore, he would probably be able to front the money to have this video made.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="TakerNGN74" data-cite="TakerNGN74" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="25169" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>The one thing I don't want and I may be in the minority on this one but I don't want him to be on the starting roster for AEW and debut at DON i feel like he may get lost in the shuffle due to the fact that the promotion has yet to have a show yet and that it's a brand new roster so he may not stick out like they would want him to or like he would want to but I could be wrong.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I agree with everything you say. Plus I would not want AEW to fill their roster with former WWE guys (though it does not appear to be what they are doing). They should not make the same mistakes that TNA did.</p>

The sales for it are not that great so I wonder how long it is going to last but thus far it has been a fun read.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Called it, it sucks that Silencer was cancelled I really wish more people would have given it a chance. It was hands down my favorite book. </p><p> </p><p> People complain about not having female character leading books, DC gives them one and nobody buys it. Now obviously part of the blame could be laid at the feet of DC because they do a terrible job of promoting their books. I also think it can be blamed on the people who give lip service about wanting a strong, well written, female character and then when one is presented to them they do not support the book with their wallets.</p><p> </p><p> I mean the book was Alias meets Kill Bill meets Chuck (sort of, more the idea and not the humor of Chuck), what is there to not like about it.</p><p> </p><p> As much as I hate to admit this, I am really enjoying the current Kraven the Hunter storyline that Marvel is putting out. It is so well written and the one story about the Gibbon is legitimately sad (This is coming from someone who never gets emotional when it come to any form of fiction. You could kill off nearly any character and it would not bother me). If folks want to buy a Marvel event they should stick with this one, don't bother with the 5,000 books that are going to make up the War of the Realms.</p>
  15. <p>It also did not help that Cody, The Bucks, and Omega went off to form their own promotion (Personally the only one out of that group I view as a star is Cody but most disagree with me). The NJPW thing partly killed my interest in the company. I will admit that I simply do not care about Japanese wrestling, I have tried to and I just have never taken to it. The only Japanese wrestlers that I have ever really liked were Muta and Liger, other than that I just do not care.</p><p> </p><p>

Therefore, when ROH decided to push NJPW wrestlers over their own, I just stopped caring about their product. I agree with you, it seems they pushed outside talent at the expense of their own talent.</p>

  16. <p>I thought I was the only one who ever noticed the green shirt guy who sits in the front row of every major event. I also thought I was the only one who ever noticed the Geddy Lee twin who is usually sitting in the front row with I assume his mother. But I guess I am wrong, people all over the internet noticed them.</p><p> </p><p>

I just wonder how can they afford to go to all of these shows around the country and pay to sit front row at each of these shows? Also, why would they want to (that is more on me not enjoying the product, if you enjoy it and can afford to go to all of those shows by all means do so).</p>

  17. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Makhai" data-cite="Makhai" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="25169" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Trips really is undefeated at killing crowds stone dead and clearing the building.I feel like if they ran this card over two nights they'd have been much better off. Because the only thing you could hear during the ME was the girls calling spots.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I did not watch the show (I do not recall the last WM I saw) but yeah HHH needs to go somewhere. He is not relevant anymore (I would argue that he never really was), he should just keep to the backstage and allow more interesting workers to have their time to shine.</p><p> </p><p> The whole Kofi being the first black champion (people on Twitter are saying this, not the company to my knowledge)...what the what? So Mark Henry, Booker T, and the Rock do not count? Okay...</p>

They book all kinds of unnecessary rehashed garbage with Kofi's storyline (getting the McMahons involved, calling him B+ player) just to turn him into Daniel Bryan 2014 V2 when the story would have been perfectly fine without those stuff. They did the same with Becky with all the unfair suspensions, illegal entries and getting arrested stuff to turn her into the next Stone Cold. Now I warrant they want to give the NXT HW the 2004 Benoit/Guerrero moment with "best friends achieving their dreams together on the big stage" highlight reel.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I have read, and I am not sure how much of it is true, that Vince at one time said he likes to recycle past angles and gimmicks every seven years or so. The thinking behind this is that, that is enough time for the average fan to forget about a gimmick or the average amount of time for the turnover of fans. The one that stood out to me was the whole Chris Masters/Hercules Hernandez & Billy Jack Haynes nobody can break out of a full nelson gimmick.</p><p> </p><p> I read an article talking about how today was Jim Ross' last day with the company. The article said that Ross was the unquestionable voice of the company. Now I think it is debatable because while I think Jim Ross is one of the all-time best, when I think of the "voice" of the WWWF/WWF/WWE to me it is always going to be Gorilla Monsoon. In fact part of me will always see Ross as an NWA announcer first, even though he did his most prolific work in the WWF.</p><p> </p><p> I guess it comes down to who was the "voice" when you grew up. Hell there is going to be a whole generation who will view Michael Cole as the "voice", it makes me cringe just to write that but it is the truth.</p><p> </p><p> All I know is, whenever there is a sneak attack in wrestling I always think, he just Pearl Harbored him and that was from hours and hours of hearing Gorilla saying it over and over again.</p>
  19. <p>Not sure why I found it funny when Adam talked about limiting a stable to only 18. As if that was a draw back, how could anyone manage a 20 person stable? Is there such a thing in real life?</p><p> </p><p>

To me the optimal amount of members in a stable is four, maybe five tops (The Dangerous Alliance). Once you go beyond that it ends up looking like the Bullet Club, Aces and Eights, or the NWO. </p><p> </p><p>

Far too many members and way too watered down. </p><p> </p><p>

Also, I think it is really cool that there will be pictures of who is in the stable.</p>
