  1. Wish I could say I'm surprised. But it's not like you can hang that all on him as much as many would like too. The Giants have struggled to remain a fully constructed team over the course of Eli's tenure. When they've had the good years, they were terrific. But all too often during Eli's career, there's been that gaping hole. If it wasn't the run game it was the receiving corps. Get the receiving corps firmed up, the O line was allowed to go to seed. Eli's done all he could.

They always seem to have a terrible OL. He seems to get battered around so much that I am honestly surprised he is still able to play.

Can only imagine what he might have done with a coaching staff and front office as committed as the ones in New England or Pittsburgh. I know the Giants are often held up as a similarly model franchise but sometimes I wonder if they should be given the inconsistent results they compared to teams like the Steelers or the Kraft-era Patriots

Well only the Packers and the Bears have more championships than the Giants, so I can see why they are always held in high regard. Also, the do play in the largest media market in America so that helps keep them relevant even when they actually are not relevant (Same goes for the Jets but the Jets have been bad for so long they just do not have the same prestige).

  2. <p>I have done terrible on most of these shows but I am really going to do terrible on this one. There are so many matches on this card that I could see going either way. Here goes nothing...</p><p> </p><p>

    NWA International Heavyweight Title:<strong> Bruiser Brody © </strong>vs. Dory Funk Jr. - 60</p><p> </p><p>

Age is really the only factor in this decision. </p><p> </p><p>

PWF World Heavyweight Title: Harley Race © vs. <strong>Giant Baba </strong>- 60</p><p> </p><p>

NWA United National Title: <strong>Jumbo Tsuruta ©</strong> vs. Terry Funk - 60</p><p> </p><p>

    <strong>Genichiro Tenryu</strong> vs. Umanosuke Ueda - 30</p><p> </p><p>

    Masanobu Fuchi vs. <strong>Stan Hansen </strong>- 30</p><p> </p><p>

    Chavo Guerrero vs. <strong>Atsushi Onita</strong> - 30</p><p> </p><p>

AJPW All-Asia Tag Team Titles: Akio Sato and Takashi Ishikawa © vs.<strong> Mighty Inoue and Rocky Hata - 60</strong></p><p>

    </p><p><strong>

Mitsuharu Misawa, Kodo Fuyuki, The Great Kabuki and Mitsuo Momota</strong> vs. </p><p>

Ashura Hara, Tarzan Goto, Goro Tsurumi and Shinji Sasazaki - 20</p>

  3. <p><strong>Giant Baba, Jumbo Tsuruta, Mitsuharu Misawa and Chavo Guerrero</strong> vs. Bruiser Brody, Harley Race, Terry Funk and Atsushi Onita - 30</p><p>

    Kodo Fuyuki vs. <strong>Stan Hansen </strong>- 30</p><p>

<strong>Genichiro Tenryu and Masanobu Fuchi</strong> vs. Umanosuke Ueda and Tarzan Goto - 20</p><p>

    Takashi Ishikawa vs.<strong> Rocky Hata</strong> - 20</p><p>

    <strong>Akio Sato</strong> vs. Mighty Inoue - 20</p><p>

Mil Mascaras and The Great Kabuki vs.<strong> Ashura Hara and Goro Tsurumi </strong>- 15</p>

  4. As a Giants fan I knew going into the season they were not going to be great. But I also was not expecting them to be that bad. Oh well they will probably suck for the next five to ten years, win a Super Bowl and then the cycle will start all over again. Such is the way of the Giants.<img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />
  5. <p>Chuck Taylor vs <strong>Kyle O'Reilly</strong></p><p>

    Comments:</p><p> </p><p>

    Pete Dunne vs <strong>Big E</strong></p><p>

    Comments:</p><p> </p><p>

    Hanson vs <strong>Fandango</strong></p><p>

Comments: Tough call here. Realistically I think Hanson should get the win here. But I think that Fandango is more popular. I am not sure what the outcome will be here.</p><p> </p><p>

    <strong>ACH</strong> vs Joey Ryan</p><p>

Comments: Because Joey's whole thing with his genitals is very stupid and make me completely understand when normies say us wrestling fans are low class and stupid.<img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

  6. Been out of the comic game for a long time but recently getting back. I never collected much--always much more interested in the storytelling and art than the collectible value. To that end, I subscribed the Marvel Unlimited App...can't say enough good thing about about. Definitely worth the 9.99 a month investment. I've been having a lot of fun reading the start of many of the signature Marvel character from the 60's.

Has anyone tried Comixology as a comparison point? Or DC subscription service?

I have a Marvel account but I do not have a subscription.

I had a free month of Comixology which was great. They have selected story arcs that are free so long as you have a subscription account with them and you also get 15% off any purchase you make.

What I like about Comixology is you are not restricted to just one company. Therefore you have access to DarkHorse, Image, Alterna, and so forth. That would be a plus if you got a subscription with them.

When the last Spider-Man movie came out they had a sale on the various titles (Amazing, Friendly Neighborhood...) and I went hog wild on buying up a lot of the original Amazing stories (If I am being honest I spent way too much, but each individual book was .99 USD and I could not pass that up. Plus, that would be the only way I would ever get to read them because there is no way I would shell out money for any of the originals).

The same thing happened when Detective Comics had its 1000 issue. I bought a ton of those as well.

My only gripe with Comixology is that their Marvel sales are great but their DC sales tend to suck. What I mean by that is, a lot of times they will have Marvel books (Graphic novels) on sale for as cheap as $1.99 (USD). But with DC they never go under $4.99.

I vastly prefer DC over Marvel so it sucks that DC never gets a deep discount.

  7. <p>They have to stop having Rhett Titus do commentary on matches, even if it is only for one match. The guy just does not have a good speaking voice.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="The Final Countdown" data-cite="The Final Countdown" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="26106" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>I haven't closely followed ROH in several years, but wasn't the original 'leader' of Lifeblood Juice Robinson? That made zero sense to me when I heard that. Juice is an NXT product who left, voluntarily became a 'young lion' and reshaped himself in the NJPW dojo and is now very much a New Japan guy. That's not exactly a guy I'd throw in a stable aiming to bring ROH back to its roots.<p> </p><p> Also, I would find it hilarious if Taven left ROH while Scurll was under contract. That would make the finish of that ladder match even more of a screwup than it was when it first happened, IMO.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> But you're Mr. ROH on this board. Say it ain't so.<img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> Seriously though, you're ROH dairy was one of the best I have ever read and as I have said previously on here I can see why people are no longer watching ROH. </p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="MightyDavidson" data-cite="MightyDavidson" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="26106" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><strong>As for Tenille Dashwood, well the Women of Honor are booked worse then the men, what was meant to be keeping her around, nothing feuds with the Allure?</strong></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Exactly. Their Women's division is just trash. I am not sure if it is because all of the good talent has been snatched up by WWE and AEW or what. But the talent is simply not there much like it is not there on the men's side of the coin either.</p>
  8. <p>I looks like I really crapped the bed on the last show, I will probably do the same for this show...</p><p> </p><p>

NWA International Tag Team Titles: <strong>Giant Baba and Jumbo Tsuruta © </strong>vs. The Funk Brothers - 60</p><p> </p><p>

Mitsuharu Misawa and Chavo Guerrero vs. <strong>Bruiser Brody and Atsushi Onita </strong>- 30</p><p> </p><p>

    Masanobu Fuchi vs. <strong>Stan Hansen </strong>- 20</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Genichiro Tenryu, Mighty Inoue and Rocky Hata</strong> vs. Akio Sato, Takashi Ishikawa and Tarzan Goto - 20</p><p>

    </p><p><strong>

    Motoshi Okuma</strong> vs. Umanosuke Ueda - 20</p><p> </p><p>

    Toshiaki Kawada vs. <strong>Ashura Hara</strong> - 15</p>

  9. <p>Great first show!</p><p> </p><p>

Also, I wanted to thank WWZONE for their post on All-Japan. It was a very insightful post.</p><p> </p><p>

    </p><p><strong>

Kodo Fuyuki, Giant Baba and Jumbo Tsuruta</strong> vs. Harley Race and The Funk Brothers - 30</p><p> </p><p>

Okay Fuyuki is the only one I have never heard of in this match, normally I would go with him eating the pin. But with Baba in the mix, I think his team will win.</p><p> </p><p>

Masanobu Fuchi and Mitsuharu Misawa vs. <strong>Bruiser Brody and Stan Hansen </strong>- 30</p><p> </p><p>

    <strong>The Great Kabuk</strong>i vs. Umanosuke Ueda - 20</p><p>

    </p><p><strong>

Chavo Guerrero and Mil Mascaras </strong>vs. Atsushi Onita and Tarzan Goto - 20</p><p> </p><p>

If this was a Mexican diary this would be a no brainer. But it is not and yet I am still going with Mil and Chavo classic to get the win here, even if they lost their last match.</p><p> </p><p>

    Motoshi Okuma vs. <strong>Ashura Hara </strong>- 15 </p><p> </p><p>

This is the first match on this show where I have not heard of either competitor. I have no clue just a guess here.</p>

  10. <p>I wonder how well their buy-rate will end up being. Fifty dollars a pop seems like an obscene amount of money for their PPV. Especially when the industry leader only charges $9.99.</p><p> </p><p>

I have a very blah feeling about AEW. I like Cody, MJF, SCU, Dustin, Jimmy Havoc, Awesome Kong and Jericho. But I cannot stand the Bucks and Omega. Some of the lower card talent have terrible gimmicks and really make the promotion come across as hokey to me.</p><p> </p><p>

I thought this promotion was supposed to be more "realistic" but you have someone like Orange Cassidy involved and it throws the whole "realistic" narrative out the window. </p><p> </p><p>

Don't get me wrong I would like to see it succeed even with Omega and the Bucks being part of it. For right now I think I will stick with MLW as my alternative to the WWE (I would say TNA or ROH but both of their rosters have been vastly depleted to the point where I cannot even watch their shows anymore.). MLW almost never disappoints and they pack a lot of show into forty-five minutes worth of content.</p>

  11. <p>I know absolutely nothing about Japanese wrestling but All-Japan has always intrigued me. Mainly because here in America all any fans talk about is New Japan. I have always wondered what happened to All-Japan and why they do not have a market outside of Japan.</p><p> </p><p>

Anyway, I am looking forward to seeing what you do here and now for my piss poor attempts at making picks for a promotion I know very little about...try not to laugh.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

Special 20-Man Battle Royal: Akio Sato, Ashura Hara, Atsushi Onita, Bruiser Brody, Chavo Guerrero, Dory Funk Jr., Genichiro Tenryu, <strong>Giant Baba</strong>, Harley Race, Jumbo Tsuruta, Kodo Fuyuki, Masanobu Fuchi, Mitsuharu Misawa, Motoshi Okuma, Stan Hansen, Takashi Ishikawa, Tarzan Goto, Terry Funk, The Great Kabuki, Umanosuke Ueda - 60</p><p> </p><p>

Seems like the obvious pick here.</p><p> </p><p>

    <strong>Chavo Guerrero & Mil Mascaras </strong>vs. Mighty Inoue & Rocky Hata - 20</p><p> </p><p>

I have to go with the guys I know, even though they will probably lose.</p><p> </p><p>

    <strong>The Great Kabuki & Motoshi Okuma </strong>vs. Umanosuke Ueda & Ashura Hara - 20</p><p> </p><p>

Once again I have to go with the wrestler I have had a chance to see which is Kabuki. </p><p> </p><p>

    <strong>Mitsuharu Misawa</strong> vs. Goro Tsurumi - 20</p><p> </p><p>

I have heard of Misawa so I shall go with him.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

    Toshiaki Kawada vs. <strong>Shinji Sasazaki</strong> - 15</p><p> </p><p>

    Just a pure guess...</p><p> </p><p>

TIEBREAKER: Predict the final four of the battle royal:</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Baba, Harley Race, Jumbo Tsuruta, Stan Hansen</strong>.</p><p> </p><p>

Just picking four I know. I mean there are others in the match I have heard of but I know Jumbo and Stan were huge in Japan. Harley Race was one of the biggest draws in America at the time and Baba is Baba.</p>

I think this show was slightly unpredictable... this new path the game dealt me, paired with the vision I've had for this makes this "summer" kind of new and fun... 16. Crews I'd call a victim of that inconsistent writing you mentioned earlier. Dude's legit talented and with a good story and push, he could probably get over. However it just seems like WWE hired him simply to have him on the roster (which seems to be the case for a few guys on their roster it seems) rather then a desire to actually do anything with him.

I swear, I do not know what the hell the WWE did wrong with him. I saw him on a Dragon's Gate show a few years before he signed with the WWE and I thought he had star written all over him. He had the crowd eating out of the palm of his hand just by using his charisma alone (Something I have only witnessed in glimpses in his time with the WWE. Granted I do not watch the product enough on a regular basis.).

I am just not sure what went wrong for him and who is at fault. But if he could just be like he was on that DG show I saw him at, I could easily see him as being a star.

What is your favorite WWE/F Promo/Line/Angle/Whatever:

    1. Andre turning on Hulk Hogan.

    2. Earl Hebner screwing Hulk out of his title.

    3. Piper smashing the coconut on Snuka's head.

    4. Austin 3:16 (Though to an extent it kind of annoyed me because I was an Austin fan going back to his time in the NWA. Once he cut that promo everyone else seemed to jump on the bandwagon. The same people who were asking me why I liked him, were now "huge" fans of his.).

    5. The Austin/Bret double turn. I never witnessed that prior to that match (Or at least I do not recall seeing it happen. I am sure it did I just never personally saw a double turn up until that point.).

    6. The whole Beauty and the Beast angle with George "The Animal" Steele, Miss Elizabeth, and Randy Savage.

  17. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Blake Trask" data-cite="Blake Trask" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="46913" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Were you writing the initials or the full company name, BHK?</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Initials. If it needed full name that would only explain the promotion one. I also could not get USPW to work.</p><p> </p><p> <em>Edited to add:</em> Yeah it did not work because I was not spelling out the full company name. Never mind USPW is working perfectly for me now.</p>
  18. What <strong>neslo024</strong> said. Though I have only run into the problem a couple of times when trying to add another Mexican promotion (Forgive me I do not have the game open and I hardly ever play as any of the Mexican promotions. The one I am talking about is the new one where it is supposed to be like a video game) or I try to bring in one the two California hardcore promotions.
  19. Also I just wanted to add when I run a COTT fed I always invite FCW, PSW, and one of the Women's promotions to join. Usually it is AAA but I will sometimes invite QAW. The reason for inviting a Women's promotion is to add a Women's COTT Championship that can be defended in both Mexico and America.

I also tend to add a Six Man/Trios COTT Title. Oddly enough, that title usually does not end up being defended in OLLIE all that much. It tends to be defended in MAW and 4C more than any of the other promotions.
